i feel like the reason why sam makes such a good christ figure is that he's not just the chosen sacrifice of the story, he's also shunned and hated for it. the angels don't just see him as an abomination and unworthy of free will or empathy, they hate him because they know that when it comes down to it they also rely on him. after everything they've done, no matter how horribly they've treated him and convinced him that he doesn't deserve redemption, they still expect him to lie down and sacrifice himself. and he in the end he does. but not because they expect him to, but to prove once and for all that they were wrong about him and he can still be good. god what a character

Your frozen hash brown treat sounds banger 😩
it comes courtesy of stoned em with no snacks in the house just a bag of frozen hash browns. i tried it again when i was sober and said "oh shit no this SLAPS" and while it takes about 15 minutes, it's literally
heat vegetable/canola oil in a pan (i just eyeball it because the instructions on the bag are for like a half bag and i have a tiny pan/can't eat that much. i like to cover the bottom of the pan and then add just a little more)
add frozen hash browns/seasoning (once again i use special shit but use literally whatever you want. make your own concoction if you so desire)
wait 6 minutes (can either vibe to music or scroll tumblr/tiktok/whatever. no real supervision required)
flip/stir (because they never stick together like they're allegedly supposed to)
wait 6 more minutes (continue previous activities)
check for ideal crispiness (i like personally to see a nice browning but i don't want to be crunching the whole time)
add cheese (as i said in my tags i use processed american cheese bc it gets nice and gooey. i do one slice and break it into quarters for maximum coverage)
once it gets to proper meltiness, transfer to plate and add hot sauce to your heart's desire.
even when i don't feel like cooking, i can manage to stand in the kitchen long enough to throw this together because it's worth it 100% of the time

a stupid pet peeve about my housemate that makes me irrationally furious is that she always uses these cute little delicate ceramic dishes as spoon rests when she's cooking.
because the thing is, she's a really messy cook. like idk how she manages it, but if she cooks a single fried egg on one burner, there will be a 1 ft blast radius of grease splatters & spices & egg bits around that burner that she never seems to notice & therefore doesn't wipe up. heaven forbid if she cooks a larger meal that uses multiple burners.
so when she uses her stupid adorable spoon rests to keep her utensils from dirtying surfaces, the effect in practice is that there will be a thick layer of caked on cooking detritus covering the entire vicinity, with a perfectly clean 2 inch circle underneath the spoon rest.
and lord help me, the sight of that single tiny dish on the stove top, having utterly failed in its duty except to highlight how greasy the rest of the kitchen is—

Hello! I had a question about the 8gal fishbowl, is that a heater in the back or is a small filter? Is it just planted or do you have a friend in there? Whats your maintenance like on it? Its absolutely gorgeous and I'm very jealous of the vessel. I have a 5.5 gal :).
thanks for the interest!! The cord is a small heater, no filter either right now, though I am planning on adding a canister filter soon, since HOB and internal filters don't really work with a bowl XD
my usual maintenance is just a water change once a month plus the occasional top off to account for evaporation.
currently there's not any fish in there, but plants include valisneria (2 different species, one is spiralis I think?), java fern, anubias barteri, multiple different species of crypts ( wendtii, undalata, lucens, and sri lanka, I think) and of course the floaters are salvinia!
for future stocking (after getting the filter hooked up) I am planning on getting a betta, possibly some chili rasboras, and amano shrimp
here's what it's looking like these days: its grown in a lot lol

PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT PAPRIKAS BACKSTORY. I AM INTERESTED. Pspspsps please please please i love hearing about your ocs
Okay! it's going under the cut. everyone not interested in Chili lore can get this quick drawing of Onyx approximately two seconds before donating his sandwich to the greater good
So what is Paprika's deal?
After she met Zir, it didn't take very long for him to realize she was both homeless and starving. As a result, she was taken back to the Explorers like some stray cat. What they don't know is why was she on the streets to begin with
I recently posted this photo which serves as a sort of timeline. The first photo is taken not too long before Paprika became a run-away
Paprika grew up in a stressed home environment with a handful of siblings, and parents that were somewhat neglectful due to dealing with their own issues
Tension, fighting, and aggression within the household kept escalating throughout her middle school years and she mostly tried to keep her head down and hope it would blow over
Eventually, the stress in the household reached a boiling point and there was an attempted murder between two family members. She had just finished middle school when this happened, and to say it was upsetting to witness would be an understatement
The assailant faced no consequences, and Paprika realized that she very well could be killed if she stayed in the household
This drawing is her memory from what occurred not long afterword
What actually happened might have been twisted and distorted by the fear Paprika was feeling, but she left that same night. Contact with her family has been non-existent since then
Spending so long without a home or food stability took a toll on her, and that's why she's so violent and reactive by the time she meets Zir
Paprika is really just a teenager who was let down by the people that were supposed to care about her. It's not some extraordinary backstory, but it does explain why she acts how she does
