You wanna know who my FAVORITE villain of all time is? You see there are a lot of good answers, from Movies, Video Games, Novels, TV shows - but no. . . No, my favorite villain of all time comes from a FUCKING SKYRIM MOD
Tumblr media
AND IT'S FUCKING THIS GUY! Ja'zel the chick trader!! There's something about this slimy fuck, this absolutely disgusting scumsucking turd of a man - this wiggly little bastard, I hate him SO MUCH! BUT IT'S BECAUSE HE'S SO FUCKING GOOD????? He plays you along so effectively - he uses you like you're the Queen in his game of chess, don't even get me started on his Monologue about Talos - this man was bound for greatness. It's hard to go on about why he's such a fantastic villain without spoiling like - All of Glenmoril, but he's such a disgusting little worm, I would break him in half like a fucking slimjim if I could.

Vicn writing massive pieces of deep lore fanfiction tying together the entire Elder Scrolls extended continuity, presenting beautiful philosophy about the nature of memory, and taking the chance to choose peace when your entire existence revolves around fighting, then proceeding to throw you into a fight with a lightsaber-wielding lich, right before having you Ant-Man your way through the Numidium’s large intestine while Indiana Jones style boulders roll at you.

Some spoilers for VIgilant Act One. Wanted to post because I will never NOT be amazed by the mod and especially the Gore add-on for it (there's a lot of text under the keep reading mark)
I only done the Safest route, but I was not fast enough and Altano got me in like one hit, and so I decided to try out the neutral route, and OH BOY.
Vigilant is a good mod alone, a very good mod. That being said, having Gore's add-on makes it so much more.
Idk y'all figured out pretty quick this is my favourite modded follower and if you didn't my apologies I'm gonna be more insane here on out.
In my humble opinion, it is refreshing to be able to have Gore butt heads with your decisions to keep moving forward in this.
I felt pretty damn humbled when he told my LDB to open her gods-damned eyes about the whole situation and HE'S RIGHT to tell her that! Ieama was so cocksure about her knowledge of Daedra, thinks she can deal with it, didn't deem Altano a big enough threat. Then suddenly she's in too deep, things are not panning out right, she's been puppet-ed and played like a chess piece, innocent lives are gone, and her blood has been telling her all along and she listened too fuckin' late. After so many fuck-ups, he had every reason to be so angry!
And he is angry, has every right to be, everything has gone to shit like he knew it would (albeit he didn't know it would be to this magnitude) and they could have never had this happen if they never left the inn with Altano. If my LDB listened to him.
But he isn't leaving her , he is gonna help her see it through and right the wrongs come hell or high water. And it feels right that he would stay, not because you are the LDB and lo' you can do no wrong, but because they are bonded, the blood of his blood, and she tried and fucked up and he knows the guilt that's gonna eat at her over this. He loves her just as much as she does him and won't leave her to the wolves. She is not Alone.
It is a great addition to an already great mod.

Hi! I might be mistaken, but I think you had a video on Elder Scrolls lore on YouTube right? Could you give me a link, I can't seem to find it.
Here you go! Iirc it's also pinned in the Vicn discord server. It's basic lore + all you need to know for the Vigilant mod.

HEYYYY i'm curious--should i play glenmoril now or wait until it's been completed?
SLIDES IN
HI HELLO VICN TRILOGY MENTIONED
so as far as completion goes, we don’t know when the hell it’s getting completed, so I will tell you just go for it. It kinda leaves you on a cliffhanger except the cliffhanger is plopping you into a semi-incomplete worldspace that ur free to explore but doesn’t have a lot of context and feels kinda empty (last time I played at least) but it’s COOL. It’s being updated semi-consistently (last time I checked) so there’s that, and afaik there’s no voiceovers yet BUT there’s been an English translation for a good while, so as long as you’re okay with a lot of reading.
As always I will remind you and anyone else looking to play it that there is an order to the mods— Vigilant, Glenmoril and Unslaad. Glenmoril is the second instalment. Vigilant and Unslaad are both complete. It’s entirely your choice if you wanna play them in order or stand-alone (you might have even played the other two, who knows)
Tl;dr yes, play it now. Hold onto your hat. It’s been about 2 years since I last played it in its entirety and I’m still mentally processing it :’) it is so dear to me.

I recently read through “2920, the Last Year of the First Era” in full and I find the final part in “Second Seed, V5” so endlessly interesting.
Tumblr media
You’re telling me that Ayleids could shapeshift into birds? Perhaps it was just this singular one but the idea is still fascinating. Stranger still is why did this random Wild Elf stop to help a wandering Dunmer? It’s very out-of-character from what we know of Ayleids. (Of course, cultures aren’t a monolith — but still.)
I highly recommend reading it if you’re a fan of more obscure lore — and historic fiction in an already fictional universe.

Reflecting on the story of Unslaad tonight and I just find it so interesting that both overarching antagonists of the Vicn Trilogy, Molag Bal and Hermaeus Mora, and by extension Hoholaugh Skogrfliss and the Black Owls in regards to the latter, each manage to be so horrifyingly villainous while also being the most pathetic characters in the whole story. Each of them is desperately attempting to force you to give them what they need to escape their own destruction, trying with everything in their power to beat you into submission with the worst horrors imaginable, only for them to be practically crawling and clinging onto your ankle while desperately pleading for you to stop and help them by the end. Each seems like an impossible foe at the darkest moments of the story, but when you look back after it's all over you can see just how pitiful they always were.
"Laugh at such matters, Dragonborn. For the Prisoner holds the reins of fate in their hands."
I also think of it as a nice callback to Vigilant that you can defeat Skogrfliss by offering him forgiveness, but with a very different outcome compared to the souls you grant peace in that story, and honestly I think it's the most damning option of all for him. He looks out upon the world and the understanding of what he's done, how he's been used, and all that he was never and will never be able to be part of hits him all at once. That's the key thing, too. I think Skogrfliss doesn't just know in this moment, he understands. Molag Bal will never understand, and neither will Hermaeus Mora. The Prince of Fate is too stuck with his head buried in all his stolen words and, even moreso, his own fear to have any capacity to look at the world and truly comprehend the magnificence of it all. But in the moment after he's freed, Skogrfliss understands, and it destroys him.
"The more I think about it, the more I feel... I could have been a part of this world if only my Lord Herma-Mora participated in its creation..."
The greatest revenge you can have against the Black Owl is to take none at all, and I think there's something brilliant to that.

Sorry (not sorry) for spamming three vids in a day but Dac0da is an awesome mod. Vicn's mods are just amazing in general. Highly recommend ppl play them if they can
I cannot explain how many time I reloaded a fight just to hear the music alone (this video I've watched several times alone), how often i had to PLAN a battle before jumping in, (I somehow did not die until I got to the Numidium, which I'm shocked about) having to think about the next move instead of just blasting is exhilarating. The story was well done, the English translation did as far as ik a good job here. Suffice to say holy shit this mod, and this scene are fan-fucking-tastic
