No Frills workers at 17 stores in Ontario have ratified a new collective agreement that raises wages and expands the number of full-time jobs, the union representing them has confirmed.
A press release from Unifor said the deal, which covers almost 1,300 workers, will see wages rise between $3.20 and $4.50 an hour over the duration of the agreement.
The five-year contract also includes a new benefits program for part-time workers and creates 30 new full-time positions to be filled within a year.
i'm seeing so many people say shit like the ICJ is ~bullshit~ because they didn't call for a ceasefire. they literally ordered israel to stop any acts of genocide and to stop fucking killing people and allow in humanitarian aid and in order to comply, that means a fucking ceasefire. israel has been ordered to report back within a month of this ruling (this ruling essentially only being that they've found south africa's case sufficient to move forward – israel wanted it thrown out) to show whether or not they've followed through. and gives the court even more leverage.
we all know israel won't comply. the ICJ knows israel won't comply.
but this puts the western world on notice. every single country that has aided israel is now on notice that they are supporting genocide. it means the western world and countries that have sat on the sidelines are being told in no uncertain terms that they have an obligation to stop the genocide. the world has been put on notice. and THAT is a big deal.

Canadian pole vaulter Alysha Newman got a bronze medal after having cleared the crossbar at 4.85 meters a new record for her country.
Newman initially faked an injury and then put her hands on her knees and yes started twerking.
She explained that in her career she has been plagued with injuries but, never gave up and has stayed focused on her goals.
Way to go Alysha!
Tolys working at Alfred's house part time, calls up Feliks one night to complain. a few months ago this guy that looked kinda similar to Al started showing up for lunch, and at first, Tolys and Lovino were just like prepping and leaving them be, but Alfred began to invite them to eat and chat.
except Alfred-where-do-you-buy-"The Room"-to-read?-F. Jones dominates like 85% of conversations, so Lovino bails after the first invite. but Tolys finds him helpless green eyes magnetizing towards Matthew, sitting quietly, nodding his head, furrowing a brow occasionally when Alfred won't let him get a word in. but he makes little notes in his head.
oh he goes by Matt/Mattie? rounded glasses. sometimes he brings over German beer. or freshly tapped maple syrup. he's got a dog that looks like a bear. wait- a bear that looks like a dog?
Tolys calls Feliks and is like "I cannot?? Get a fucking word in. I just want to say hello, ask him about that beardog he brought up once. His eyes are gorgeous"
And Feliks is just like "If you really wanna get to know him, DO something about it tf are you calling me half way around the globe for??" and its like righT?
but Feliks unintentionally lights the fire under Tolys ass when he casually mentions "If you want some, you better move quick because I hear that sticky lil German goon visits to exchange syrups or whatever euphemism Francis used"
"Fucking Gilbert-"
and the next time Matthew comes over for lunch he offers to drive him back to the train station for alfred. asks to maybe hang out some time.
matthew is like "Heyy do you wanna come back to my place for an beer?"
"German beer?" Tolys furrows his brows and purses his lips.
I was definitely on an Americana/country jag a couple of months ago. In the last couple of days, I've listened multiple times to three releases that, for me at least, fall into the Americana category. First, we have Steve Leon & the Accusations (Antwerp, Belgium). I can't help but think this is what Shane McGowan might have sounded like had he gone Americana.
Next, Skinny Dyck (Lethridge, Alberta, Canada). We posted about him nearly 4 years ago. I've always enjoyed listening to Skinny Dyck. This is released by Victory Pool and Sound Asleep Records.
And finally, Ba Da Bing Records is releasing "Descendent" from Glasgow, Scotland based band Snowgoose. Anna Sheard and Jim McCulloch (The Soup Dragons, and BMX Bandits) combine with sounds that, according to the Bandcamp write-up, recall 10,000 Maniacs and Pentangle. Click through to see the list of contributing musicians. It's a veritable Glasgow all-star lineup.
If you had a Crush on one you had a Crush on them all
This heavily Canada based. Also heavily based on what I watched in the early 2000′s so anything airing on YTV or Family channel and/or my mother was willing to watch with me that was non cartoon related.
Logan Reese (Zoey 101)
Zane Bennet (H20 Just Add Water)
Ned Bigby (Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide)
Derek Venturi (Life With Derek)
Wilder (The Latest Buzz)
Lennon Kincaid (So Little Time)
Beck Oliver (Victorious)
Jackson (Flight 29 Down)
Drake (Drake and Josh)
Liam (90210)
