Nice to put a name with a face after 65 years! Joseph Augustus Zarelli. . AJZ was known to us as America's Unknown Child or The Boy in the Box after having been found murdered near Susquehanna Road in Pennsylvania on February 25, 1957. (Swipe to see pics.) Genetic genealogy was used to give the name to the face of this mistreated young child. . Can't wait to see how this story continues to unfold! @Ancestry and @newspaperscom have been my go-to's this morning, researching the Zarelli family history and crime from that general area. While law enforcement has not named names of surviving family members, ancestry has shown me who they are. . Can you imagine finding out this infamous murder victim was a family member? . What story did Joseph's parents and family tell everyone as to where he disappeared to? Why was he never reported missing? . Law enforcement back in the day determined the bassinet box the little boy was found in had no bearing on the case at all. Will that still be the same today? LE knows the buyer who made the purchase in the store where it was bought from. . Joseph was found nude and wrapped in a flannel blanket. Will any of the surviving Zarelli family members recognize this flannel blanket as something used in their family back in the day? . A man's cap was found near the box in 1957. Police were able to find a witness who remembered the man with that particular cap, however, he was never found. Did the man with the cap have anything to do with the murder? Will any of the surviving Zarelli family members remember anyone in their family wearing this cap? . I can't wait to hear the explanation of how this young child beaten and malnourished, had all these scars and surgical marks on his body and no one seemed to know who he was. . What happened to Joseph Augustus Zarelli? . #josephaugustuszarelli #josephaugustus #zarelli #americasunknownchild #theboyinthebox #boyinthebox #boyinthebox1957 #solvedunidentifiedperson #unsolvedmurder #murdervictims #philadelphiapolice #vidocqsociety #childabuse #abusevictim (at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl7AoyxP-GS/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Now I’m picturing Victor wearing hot pink and standing behind Yuuri all night at the celebratory dinner he invites everyone to because there HAS to be a banquet HIS FIANCE JUST WON GOLD.
LOL.
But yes! THERE WILL BE A PARTY. Victor will definitely make sure of that, I promise. Yuuri will have his banquet after all, even if it’s not technically a banquet.  ♥

So, for my very first post I decided to choose a figure who I believe made history fairly recently in the scheme of things - his name is Frank Bender. For as long as I can remember my three main interests have always been history, art and forensics. Bender, in my opinion is the father of forensic art; and forensic sculptures in particular. I first learnt of Bender’s work whilst reading “The Murder Room” by Michael Capuzzo. Whilst reading I discovered that Bender’s journey into forensic art began when, a little down on luck he made a deal with a friend who worked for a city morgue; the friend allowed him access to the morgue to study anatomy for free, in order to improve his facial proportions when sculpting. Whilst there his artistic skills and practically psychic third eye lent themselves to identify the victims previously considered unidentifiable. His success also led to him being recruited by law enforcement agencies such as the FBI in order to create age progressions of fugitives that would often lead to their capture. His reputation for prophesying details of fugitive’s appearances - some not seen for many years, down to dyed hair colour or facial hair regularly stunned law enforcement officers. His extraordinary work led to many identifications and captures and I believe that his work and the work of others who help to solve the injustices of this world deserve to be known and celebrated. Bender also went on to found the Vidocq Society along with William Fleisher and Richard Walter; an organisation of forensic professionals that regularly assemble to solve cold cases. Unfortunately Bender passed away on the 28th of July 2011, his legacy and work will be remembered and respected by many; myself included.

Positivity Meme
tagged by @festival-of-pudding
Once you get this you have to say five things you like about yourself publicly, then you have to send it to 10 of your favorite mutuals/followers (non-negotiable. Positivity is cool) ❤️
You’re right, Positivity Meme: Positivity IS cool, so before I get to what I like about myself, I’m gonna talk about what I like about Ms. Pudding up there.
1) She is ridiculously talented at writing. Like, if y’all haven’t read anything by her yet? Y’all need to get on that because you’re missing out. Vampires, bisexual Roman soldiers, MI5 informants, hobbits - so much choice!
2) One of my favorite things is waiting for her soundtracks. She has amazing and wide-ranging taste in music and she has a serious ability to match music to scene.
3) She made her own tea blends y’all. That is AWESOME.
4) Fellow History major FTW. Her research in and love for History is a pleasure to read, and she’s fantastic at balancing the level of detail so as not to overwhelm her readers. It can be tricky to balance on that wire, but she’s great at it.
5) She is hilarious! She’s funny enough online, but try hanging out in her place with fried chicken and wine and watching Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace, Zoolander, and Moonlight. Grown-ass women giggling all night. Magical negl.
And now I will talk about myself. ::gulp::
1) I like my smile and my...let’s call it infectious...laugh.
2) I like to think I’m a pretty decent friend.
3) I like my imagination!
4) I like my ridiculous sense of humor and especially that it entertains more than just me sometimes. Heh.
5) I like writing dialogue and I think I’m pretty good at doing it.
I’m going to tag:
@actress4evr, @svartalfhild, @selfconsciousfangirl @ti-inspired, @vidocqsociety, @pippinmctaggart, @teamhawkeye, @elenothar, @poshykitty, @thelaughingmagician
(Note: I don’t expect anyone to say stuff about me first, so don’t worry about that.)

Sorting also takes into consideration what a person values. Hermione could very well have been Ravenclaw, but perhaps she *valued* bravery more, so the Hat put her in Gryffindor. So it all comes down to what Pippin values more: bravery or loyalty.
That's true. In that case I think you have to ask whether you're talking about book!Pippin or Movie!Pippin, because book!Pippin was more motivated by loyalty and friendship (for instance movie Pippin seems to almost stumble into the adventure with Frodo, but in the book he decided to go with Frodo with full knowledge and understanding of how dangerous it might be because they were friends,) and movie!Pippin was more impressed by the Derring Dos of the people around him. I think book!Pippin is almost certainly Hufflepuff, upon further consideration, but I'm not so sure about movie!Pippin
tom-bakery replied to your post “asking the important questions”
i think hobbits are all hufflepuffs unless proven otherwise. :P
This is also very true. Friendship, loyalty, and proximity to the food: these are the thing hobbits value most.

Lotus, Rhododendron
Yaye! Thank you for asking and sorry it’s been so long!
Lotus: What was your favorite book as a child?  I used to love the Dorrie the Witch series so much! My mom made me a halloween costume of her one year and sewed me my own black cat called Gink. I still have that. Heh.
Rhododendron: What’s the scariest dream you’ve ever had? So many scary dreams over the years. My worst nightmare was dreaming of my own murder, seeing/feeling it happen. Actually, I dream of dying in differing way quite often. I wouldn’t mind stopping that. Not recommended tbqh.
