My little finding outside the movies - "Royal Portraits" ❄️

My eleventh finding is how many appearances of royal portraits in various books 😄 While working on my lingonberry finding related to Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea, I've found more movie/book reference in the park, I love seeing all the decorations, including the small details like the sleeping Sir Jorgenbjorgen, books title, lutefisk, sextant, various portraits hanging on the wall and more 💙

I've found there are many unknown portraits that I think have a high chance of being Anna and Elsa's ancestors. I've also noticed that a few portraits are mentioned in various books too. So, here are my findings inspired by these details 😄

Before I begin, I want to give a shout-out to the Arendelle Archives projects related to royal family: Arendelle's Family Tree and Anna and Elsa's lost relatives!❄️

the loveliest @bougainvillea-and-saltwater gave me yet another chance to be self-indulgent and tagged me to share more of my casting choices for my fic, i fear no fate (for you are my fate)! 💖 I wasn't able to decide on one for everyone who's shown up or who's due to show up, but here's who I have so far:

Elentari Bellefeuille, the Last Dragonborn

I've said it before and I'll say it again: this model for Armstreet makes me think of Ellie every time I see her, but I also imagine her as having shades of Nastya Kusakina and Elle Fanning to her. give any of them pale silvery hair, green eyes, a beauty mark or two, and little pointy ears, and they'd be perfect for Elentari!

Miraak, the First Dragonborn

with his long golden hair and straight nose, I couldn't help but choose model Jorge Pla as my fancast for him. at this point in the story, Miraak has black sclerae, burning blue irises, and dark-coloured ink stains running down his cheeks, but I imagine he looked a lot like this prior to Apocrypha (or after, at some point👀?).

Lucien Flavius, Scholar Extraordinaire

I challenge anyone to tell me that Toby Regbo isn't perfect for Lucien. look at him in that rightmost pic and tell me he isn't standing at Ellie's side, watching some form of nonsense unfold and wondering what he'll write in his letter to his parents tonight.

Vanna, Cultist of Miraak

we might have only known her for one chapter (and I couldn't decide on someone who'd make a good Solis, her quiet Dunmer counterpart), but Alyssa Sutherland as Queen Aslaug from Vikings is definitely my first choice for the headstrong, loyal Vanna. her hair might need to be a bit redder, but she's got the covering of freckles already!

Hmm, that's a great question, cause he is so good for the eyes, that there's a few to answer it! So, here it is:

As Harald Sigurdsson, in Vikings Valhalla, this one

Not just because of his tiddies, but in this one we can see many things that compose his character. The axe scar in his belly, his tattoos, the blood and sweat, the hair and the beard... He looks feral, which is one of my favourites look of him.

Fav picture of him in a photoshoot, got to be this one for Wonderland Magazine:

CURLS! CURLS EVERYWHERE! I am a big, big fan of his curls <3 I love that he said once in a interview (not gonna remember which one now, but you can search the quote) that he didn't know he had curly hair, until he grew it out! this pic also brings out his youth, he looks so young and so innocent that makes you want to cuddle him <3

My all time favourite tho, it's a polaroid he took with his co-stars in London.

I've been obsessed with this one for quite a while, cause it's just so sweet! His smile, his shirt, his bright eyes... everything about this polaroid is cute. So I guess this is my number one fav!

How to Train Your Dragon (2010)

It’s been over 10 years since the release of How to Train Your Dragon. Unfortunately, this means you can’t catch it the way it was meant to be seen - on the big screen and in 3D - but it still dazzles. This animated film has it all. A great story of friendship, stunning visuals, memorable character designs, an instantly memorable score, terrific voice acting and a great message. It doesn’t matter how old you are, it becomes an instant favorite.

Much to his father’s disappointment, teenaged Viking Hiccup (perfectly voiced by Jay Baruchel) is hardly the dragon killer his village needs him to be. When Hiccup knocks down a Night Fury - the most elusive and deadly of all dragon species - he finds that he cannot kill it, and instead befriends "Toothless".

We've seen stories about sons rebelling against their parents because they would rather dance ballet, sing, or do anything other than do what they're expected to do before. How to Train Your Dragon differentiates itself first and foremost with its visuals. No dragon we've ever seen looks like the ones in this film. Taking inspiration from the book of the same name by Cressida Cowell, the animators went to town on the creature designs, which range from the two-headed Hideous Zippleback - one head spews flammable gas, the other, sparks - to the bumblebee-like Gronckle. All of them are memorable, as are Hiccups classmates. You’re like the overenthusiastic Fishlegs (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), excitedly looking at these beasts and trying to figure out what makes them tick. I predict in about five to ten years, we’ll be seeing highly detailed and articulated action figures of the creatures in this film sold to adults who grew up with this franchise. That’s how iconic they are.

As you can deduce from the title, Hiccup and Toothless eventually form a close bond and our hero becomes the first dragon rider. The first scene in which they take flight together is pure movie magic. The emotions bubble up inside as if it’s you soaring through the air for the first time. Even on a flat screen, the way they zip alongside cliffs, through rocky formations and above the water is so exciting - particularly with the score by John Powell - it threatens to bring tears to your eyes. You recognize the emotional weight of this moment and the visuals are incredible.

The emotional power of Hiccup and Toothless' flight comes from the character work. Directors Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois have made the genius choice to give a lot of cat-lie attributes to Toothless. He’s effortlessly loveable but also a little wild - if you’ve ever owned a cat, you know what I mean. You’ve seen how Hiccup and his father are. It’s not that Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler) is a bad father, it’s that they just have nothing in common, whereas Hiccup and Toothless? they get along but they do so well. It breaks your heart knowing they’re from two worlds and that there’s no way this is going to work out. Training with Toothless means Hiccup becomes more knowledgeable about dragons than any other Viking. At his school, he’s acing every course, which breaks down the barrier between him and his father. It raises your spirits but creates a dark cloud on the horizon.

In the end, the screenplay by the directors (who co-wrote with Will Davies) finds a surprisingly elegant way to give the audience the happy ending they want and deliver a big action scene that brings together everything we’ve learned about dragons. It’s revealed that every dragon has been stealing food for the biggest dragon of all, a Godzilla-sized mega beast that will eat anything. The genius of this revelation is that it recontextualizes every dragon attack. If only this big bully were gone, then everyone could live harmoniously. In Independence Day: Resurgence, The Great Wall and similar films, this “Queen” that can be defeated to save the day feels artificial. Not here. In hindsight, it all makes sense.

It's one of the best cast animated pictures in recent memory. Christopher Mintz-Plasse as the big, but squeaky-voiced dragon nerd Fishlegs, America Ferrera as Astrid, Hiccup’s rival and possible romantic interest and the other Vikings are terrific. Even these secondary characters are memorable, making you eager to see more. Then we get to the ending, which is mature and somber. How to Train Your Dragon is much more than the sum of its big, action-packed sequences of aerial pyrotechnics, dizzying flying scenes and narrow getaways. It's packed with emotion, action, and fun. I can’t recommend How to Train Your Dragon enough. (On Blu-ray, April 15, 2022)

Hi, I don't think I've ever replied to that of question to be honest.

Okay, so it depends if we are talking about young!JC or not. For young!JC I would cast those two: Celina Sinden and Jonathan Keltz aka Greer and Leith from Reign (I know people hate this show, but I loved it). They are just so perfect for young!JC (especially Celina who looks like a baby Lena, Jonathan is a bit too dark blond tho but it matches with Jaime later dark blond hair), and their scenes have great JC vibes if you want to do a pre-ASOIAF/GOT gifsets.

As for adult!JC, I don't actually have a fancast tbh because I think Nik and Lena are perfect for their roles, and I never really pictured anyone else in my mind, but there is this is pic of Alexander Skarsgård that gives me major Jaime vibes and that I would likely to use in a edit for modern!JC. Oh, and also Alyssa Sutherland (Aslaug in Vikings) could be a good actress for Cersei.

Best weekend ever♥️

After the best weekend of my life and a few days visiting Cologne, I arrived home a couple of days ago. There were moments in which I thought I wouldn’t be able to make that trip, but I finally did, and I will be grateful for it every single day of my life💕

Meeting the Vikings cast for me was an actual dream. I got to see and say hello to people I admire a lot, and that’s a privilege and an opportunity I never thought I’d have. Especially seeing Alex again, that part was my favourite. All of them were so sweet and nice to us! I took pics with Gustaf, Travis, Alex and Alexander, and I look ugly as fuck but they look perfect🥰

Alex kept saying ‘hey honey’ every time we’d see each other, with a big smile and that cozy vibe he has around him. When I went in to take the pic with him and Alexander he smiled and said: Hey gorgeous!! I love seeing you and it absolutely made my day, week, month, year and life. He hugged me every time I went to take a pic with him, he smiled in a warm way that honestly made me tear up. Alexander was very nice too, and Travis HUGGED ME (the fucking Travis Fimmel, I’m still processing it) and Gustaf was so sweet!♥️ I got to talk to Alex a few times and he recognized me, took his time with me and had always a smile and nice words for me. It means a lot😭💞

On Sunday he was very tired, they made him run everywhere because they were late and he apologized to us for making us wait. You could see how tired he was even if he assured me he was okay when I asked him, but still I didn’t want to bother him too much. In fact, I had a mental breakdown on Sunday night as I was catching a train with a friend because my brain tried to convince me I was very annoying and that he hated me now🙃 I do hope I wasn’t as annoying as I think I was😂 I was just very happy, I become very annoying when I’m happy. To be honest, I don't remember being that happy in years, so that’s cool🥰

I don't know if I ever mentioned this here (I probably did because, again, I'm very annoying), but Vikings is my fav show because it helped me overcome one of the worst moments of my life. Watching that show distracted me enough to stop thinking dark things when I was all alone and after something very bad happened to me. I don’t know what would have happened to me if I hadn’t had that distraction, so I’m very thankful for that series. I don't think any of the actors could even imagine why I kept saying ‘thank you’, but I really needed to say it. I also said it a thousand times on the letter I gave Alex, which I don’t think he’ll read but at least I got to say it in some way. 

It was great. It was one of those moments I’ll remember in the future and I’ll think: “life is not so bad sometimes” 🥰 I hope you get these moments too♥️

As I said, I look terribly ugly in the pics but I’m posting them cutting me off so you all can enjoy these people’s beautiful faces too💕

Another day in Ireland, that was amazing. It’s really going to be difficult, to get me to go back to my crappy desert where it is currently 105 degrees.  I actually went to the pub tonight, where the Vikings cast used to hang out in Ashford, at night.

And I did other things today. I’m forever in a perpetual state of tired. I thought about a munday pic, but I’ve learned a lot about self-awareness the last two weeks and about not feeling like you owe anyone proof or explanations and it’s okay that I am hoarding all the personal pictures of this journey, that include me. We don’t always talke pictures just for others to see.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. I’m going to share plenty and especially of Ireland’s amazing landscapes, et al.
