How to know what planet's/ planets' influence you are under currently (at any time/period)
For one reason or another, because there are a lot of factors at play. Mostly these planets are an influence if they are sitting in one of the nakshatras ruled by your mahadasha and antardasha lords. For example, if you're going through Sun mahadadha or antardasha, look for planets sitting in Krittika, Uttara Phalguni and/or Uttara Ashadha. Planets also influence you when they transit through your 1st house or join your natal sun, moon or rising, maybe even atmakaraka or chart ruler. You can also look for the planet that rules your current mahadasha or antardasha. Don't look at these as exact and all-encompassing and please observe your life yourself🤍
Sun: life feels simple, you feel more confident, you are more sure of things, you're rarely afraid, you feel a little lonely but peaceful, you're not afraid to speak your mind, you feel like you have to support yourself, you don't like asking for help, you do little things for others without much thought, you don't mind doing things alone and being alone in general, you have a need to self-actualize and avoid dependancy.
Moon: a lot of feelings are meshing together, it feels like whenever you look what you see has relevance, you feel safe but surreal, you just "know" or "feel/suspect" things, prone to doubt and suspicions, you indulge in fiction, you feel easily influenced, you feel more "home", you feel vulnerable but in an empowering way, you're perceptive, you go with the flow.
Mercury: you like to do things in your particular way these days, you're in your head mostly, you want to change some things about yourself and most things around you, you feel more neurotic, you think quickly, you seek privacy, you put on a mask, you feel impressed by yourself, you pay attention to details, you're easily influenced by things others find arbitrary, you become a masterful problem solver, you are extremely selective and discriminating.
Venus: you live in the physical world willingly and often with pleasure, you become more ruthless and discriminating, you are not prone to giving up, you see your values more clearly, you focus on your values, you don't feel shame for indulging in your wants, you don't accomodate to most people and are careful before wasting your energy, you see how "pure" others are to you and treat them accordingly, you don't want to make noise or attract much attention. You seek out balance, beauty, fairness and harmony, often stubbornly. You try not to settle, ever.
Mars: you feel more energized, you have a desire to "build" something, you become more defensive, you feel more extroverted, you're more engaging, you can't help but react sometimes, if you want to do something you do it, you do first and explain later, you might tackle problems impulsively, you have a need to get your way, you don't mind confrontation (especially it it helps you grow), you feel more comptetitive, you don't want to waste time, you feel braver.
Jupiter: you seek the higher meaning and higher things in life, you try to be kind and considerate, you're extremely concerned about your and others' morals and doing things the right way, you seek out and find spirituality, you don't mind being humble, you try to be "good", you find abundance and ease around you, you feel lucky, life feels effortless a lot of the time, you struggle with making difficult choices, you've commited to praying more, you feel empathy more.
Saturn: you are aware of the limitations and the conventions around you and in your life, you try to achieve things, you try to fit into roles, you feel alright but not the best, you feel judged, you're building a tough shell or growing thick skin, you don't mind doing the work, you don't mind the reality, you're slowly but surely moving towards your goals (or anywhere), you value boundaries, you want to work quietly, you start to face your fears and wounds.
Rahu: anxiety is present and you have to deal with it, you really want to do things you've been wanting to do since forever, you are aware of others' perception of you, you are aware of how things look, you might feel like an imposter, you feel the need to go your own way, you're tired of old narratives, you value authenticity and independence, you try not to judge others because you hate to be judged (but you can't help but coldly analyze others), you never seem to be satisfied, you indulge in fiction more (especially films and series), you want to try new things.
Ketu: life starts to make sense, you can predict less and less how life will feel in the immediate future, you let go of things, you want to get to the bottom of things, you feel like just saying things, you want to isolate, you feel like nobody really understands you, you're not sure how to feel, you restrain yourself from acting most of the time, you realize things you can't fully explain, you rely on your inner world, some things feel really heavy, life might slap you in the face, you feel grateful for simple things, you keep to yourself more, you accept life as it comes.

Rahu in 7th House: The Unconventional Marriage
A case study of Erik Menendez's vedic astrology chart. Erik has rahu in 7H dhanishta, with 7H lord saturn in 9H bharani. His venus (natural significator of wife) is in swati 3H. His mars darakaraka sits in libra portion of chitra.
Tumblr media
Mars DK can often show a spouse that takes the first action or initiative into the relationship/connection. Chitra nakshatra can be connected with writing. Erik's wife, Tammi Menendez, was the one who initially got in contact with him via a letter.
Saturn as lord of 7H can indicate hardships related to the relationship, however it will give a strong and longstanding connection when the couple learns how to solve or work around these issues. Erik and Tammi are happily married to this day. Saturn can also show an older spouse, or a spouse with a more mature mindset than you. Tammi is 10 years older than Erik.
Erik's saturn in bharani is also interesting, considering his relationship with Tammi blossomed into a romantic one some time after her husband passed away. Bharani is related to death and burdens through its association with Lord Yama.
7H rahu shows us there is an element of unconventionality with regards to the relationship and spouse. To the average American, the Menendez's marriage can be seen as unusual.
Rahu in dhanishta shows the relationship circumstances could become famous in a way (dhanishta's shakti has the power to give fame). This is true as there is extensive media coverage and interviews about their relationship. Tammi also wrote a book about her relationship with Erik.
Erik's natal venus (natural significator of wife) is retrograde in swati nakshatra. Swati can be translated as "The Independent". Since Erik is incarcerated, his wife has to live separately and independently from him.
The couple married on June 12th, 1999. This corresponds to Erik's mercury mahadasha, rahu antardasha period.

Which Mahadasha each rising sign must be cautious?
Mahadasha means major period in Vedic terms. Maha means big and Dasha means the state of life. So, at each point of your life a certain planet rules your life (depending on the Moon's Nakshatra at time of birth)
Aries Rising: You must be careful in Mars period of 7 years since it rules 8th house. Mercury period of 17 years may also give some troubles as it is 6th lord.
Taurus Rising: You must be careful in Jupiter period of 16 years although Jupiter can give large gains in its period too.
Gemini Rising: You must be careful in Mars period of 7 years since it rules 6th and 11th house. Saturn period of 19 years can be difficult too since Saturn rules 8th house.
Cancer Rising: Jupiter period, it rules 6th house but if well placed can give professional growth. Saturn period of 19 years can be difficult as it rules 7th and 8th house.
Leo Rising: Saturn period since it rules 6th and 7th house. Jupiter period can be mixed too as it rules 8th house.
Virgo Rising: Mars period as it rules 3rd and 8th house. Saturn period can be mixed.
Libra Rising: Venus period can be difficult as it rules 1st and 8th. Mars can be difficult as it rules 2nd and 7th.
Scorpio Rising: Mercury is most difficult period of 17 years as it rules 8th.
Sagittarius Rising: Moon can be difficult ruling 8th.
Capricorn Rising: Sun period of 6 year can be difficult ruling 8th. Moon can be difficult too ruling 7th house.
Aquarius Rising: Moon period of 10 years can be difficult and even Mercury can be difficult ruling 8th.
Pisces Rising: Venus period of 20 years is most difficult and even Saturn period of 19 years.
Comment on your current Dasha and your experience.

Hi! I came from your brief big 3 nakshatra analysis, and I was surprised that I would end up knowing more about Purva Phalguni the most.
I really don't know the nature of Krittika, aside from the known fact that it's ruled by Sun and that it has a connection to the act of "cutting". But despite others associating Krittika to being critical or managerial pursuits, something in me feels like there is something more to this Nakshatra. I have my Krittika Moon in Taurus, and the internal intensity is very much true. This also happens to be my darakaraka, btw.
Purva Bhadrapada, on first look, I always remember it as a boundless expansion, but apparently it's a pretty violent and intense sign? I also see this often with fire and dragons and I resonate strongly with both symbolisms. I also feel spiritually connected to volcanoes for some reasons.
Then Purva Phalguni... I always know it to be a nakshatra associated with enjoyment, luxuries, romance, relaxation, and creativity. But the responsibility part is the first time I knew about it. Maybe it's a random epiphany with the existing knowledge that my Sun is also my atmakaraka, but I never actually knew that Purva Phalguni also has a side of responsibility/being reliable for others to complement all those enjoyment and creativity.
Duality is also very true for me, I feel volcanic/hellish by myself as in very intense yet I seem to be a cozy campfire when with other people or in public.
Thank you for the insights!
Hi 143folium, thanks for your kind message. Glad to have helped. Krittika is ruled by Agni, the god of fire and the messenger between the heavenly realms and ours. Agni will define this nakshatra entirely. The Sun doesn't rule Krittika, besides planets don't rule any nakshatras: planets rule the solar signs while the deities rule the nakshatras, the lunar signs. The Sun is connected to Krittika because of the Vimshottari Dasha system. In other dasha systems, Krittika will be connected to other planets. For example, Krittika is related to Venus according to the Ashtottari Dasha system... And to Saturn in the Yogini Dasha system! 😱 The Sun is commonly said to be connected to Krittika because the Vimshottari Dasha system is the dasha system in use for most people of our current age, Kali Yuga. I used the term "Vimshottari Lord" as it was shorter and sounded better than "connected to" or "related to" even though I must admit that it's not completely accurate as the Sun doesn't rule Krittika. Of course, needless to say, it doesn't mean we have to forget about the planets, it would be a terrible mistake too. Yes, Purva Bhadrapada is a very intense and wild nakshatra. It's literally a hot nakshatra. For example, regarding health, it's all about burning, itching and unnecessary heat in the body. Volcanoes are usually related to Mula nakshatra, so, take a look at your charts and see if you have anything there or aspected. 😉

Exploring Krishnamurti Paddhati Astrology
Krishnamurti Paddhati (KP) astrology stands as a testament to human innovation and the timeless quest for understanding the cosmos. Its focus on zodiac subdivisions, the sub-lord system, and mathematical precision exemplify a profound attempt to unravel the mysteries of existence. While astrology's efficacy remains a subject of discourse, the systematic and inventive approach of KP astrology undoubtedly merits consideration and exploration by those intrigued by the profound interplay between the celestial and the terrestrial. https://saptarashi.blogspot.com/2023/08/exploring-krishnamurti-paddhati-kp.html

MAHADASHAS in Vedic astrology
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I have wanted to make this post for a very long time and since so many of you wanted it, here it issss😊😊
So in this post I am going to be going through what each mahadasha may bring you in terms of life occurrences. I am also going to be including example of specific placements that can be correlated to life events according to your natal chart also, because the mahadasha that you’re in now, looking at its placement in your natal chart influences it also.
**i am also going to include my own examples of my own mahadashas for referencing purposes
How to calculate your mahadashas?? A very handy website is farfaraway or another one would be astrosage.
what is a mahadasha?? Mahadashas are an integral concept in Vedic astrology, referring to extended periods in a person's life dominated by the influence of a specific planet. Each Mahadasha spans a fixed number of years, with its duration determined by the Vimshottari Dasha system, which assigns a total cycle of 120 years among the nine planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu). These periods are believed to shape significant events and themes in a person's life based on the nature, strength, and placement of the ruling planet in their natal chart. Within a Mahadasha, there are sub-periods, or antardashas, which further refine its effects.

Venus Nakshatras: The Cost of a Man's World
Tumblr media
Before discussing the role of Venus nakshatras, I want to expand on the general understanding of what the nakshatras are. Earlier in my Moon men post, I talked about how the nakshatras are unchanging and universal, representing the experiential dimensions of our engagement with the physical world. They show the inner aspiration of the mind, driving us to engage with the world in certain ways and seek out various experiences. However, there is another side to this that is less passive. While the nakshatras show what calls us to seek out external experiences, they also show what we are capable of achieving. One of the most important rules of jyotish that is considered only with an advanced level of study is that nothing can come of the chart that the nakshatras do not allow. This means the nakshatras act as a kind of subtle filter or gate, delineating not only what the native is drawn toward but also the boundaries of what is possible in their lived experience. The planets express themselves according to their condition, but that is ultimately shaped by the deeper permissions or limitations of the nakshatras. In other words, a planet may be powerful in a sign or house, but if it resides in a nakshatra that does not support the kind of manifestation the chart suggests, then that potential remains dormant or unrealized. Likewise, when a chart overall indicates a slight potentiality of something occuring that is favored by the nakshatra, the nakshatra will make sure it definitely happens. This is why the nakshatras are often said to be the true “field” in which a planet plays. The rashi might show the context of material circumstance, the house the domain of experience, but the nakshatra reveals the tone, the capacity, and the manner of expression that governs both the psychological disposition and the material outcomes in a native’s life. When we start to consider this level of depth, the nakshatras cease to be “lunar mansions” in the poetic sense and instead emerge as precise, technical indicators of both capacity and the unfolding of pre-ordained outcomes, helping us to understand our soul's trajectory in life from the energetic tendencies ingrained from the time of birth. They create either a ceiling or an opening, and we must understand that the entire chart is to be viewed through the lens of nakshatra influence.
Anyway, now to get on with the main topic of the post. The planetary associations made within this context will be based on Vimshattori. Vimshattori is a lunar based dasha system. It is apt at capturing our experiences and impressions of something more than the objective facets involved. For example, during a Saturn period, you may be lonely. But how will you experience being alone? Will it make you sad? Happy? Give you new zeal for life? Or will it crush your spirit? That inner tone is what Vimshottari recognizes and elevates. It shows not just what happens but how it is experienced and ultimately absorbed by the mind. Two people may go through similar events, for example, but one might be empowered, while another feels defeated. This difference depends on the nakshatra and its ruling planet, specifically in how it relates to its condition in our chart, but that is a bit too specific for right now. The nakshatra lords show more about the quality of a period seen from the moon rather than the planet itself, and we begin to understand the progression of energies from the Moon's perspective when we study them. With this in mind, we will now turn to the Venus nakshatras, which are Bharani, Purva Phalguni, and Purva Ashadha. Remember that these are not pure expressions of Venus; rather, they show periods of time where we experience the effect Venus has on the Moon.
Tumblr media
The first thing we need to realize when studying Venus nakshatras is that Moon is enemy to none, but Venus is enemy to the Moon, which creates a one-sided tension between what the Moon wants and what Venus wants. The Moon in its pure expression (not its nakshatras) seeks peace, balance, and preservation of feeling through the senses, while Venus brings disturbance through desire, provoking the mind into movement, stimulation, and transformation. This dynamic forms the basis of the Venus nakshatras which are charged, active, and more often than not disruptive to the mental state. They do not allow the mind to settle. Instead, they awaken a hunger that must be answered even when the cost is high. This is why the lives of Venus nakshatra natives often reflect stories of desire, provocation, and upheaval. Their presence stirs something both in themselves and in others and we see this clearly in how they are portrayed across media.
Tumblr media
Because Venus provokes instability in the Moon (because it is enemy to it), the stories that emerge from Venus nakshatras are usually pretty brutal. There is a volatility to the lives of these natives that reflects an internal climate of discomfort, one that demands resolution through experience rather than reflection. They are rarely given the luxury of remaining untouched. Instead, their circumstances tend to force them into roles that confront the contradictions of desire, often dragging them into morally gray terrain. We see in these natives a tendency toward extremes: to be both victim and instigator, pursued and punished, loved and rejected. What sets them apart is not the presence of beauty or harmony, but the fact that such qualities, when they appear, are unstable, always flickering in and out of reach, unable to be held without some greater cost being paid. In other words, Venus nakshatra natives do not embody the traditionally benefic nature you would expect to see from the planet.
Tumblr media
This pattern of relational disruption reflects the karmic role of Venus when filtered through the lens of the Moon. In the Vedic tradition, Venus is the guru of the asuras, the teacher of those who seek to manipulate, seduce, or overtake the natural order rather than submit to it. Venus teaches through desire, through indulgence, and through the confrontation with maya in its most refined and tempting forms. When the Moon (symbol of manas and perception) enters into the field of such a teacher, it is not the Moon that seduces, but the Moon that is seduced. The mind becomes agitated, not because it seeks pleasure, but because it is compelled to process the consequences of having seen through Venusian eyes. What the Moon experiences through these nakshatras is not harmony, but the dissonance of longing for something that cannot be held. This is the curse of Sukracharya's domain when viewed through Chandra's vulnerable gaze. Venus nakshatras are not sites of enjoyment. They are karmic mirrors, where the Moon must see its own fragility in the face of what is beautiful, pleasurable, and unattainable.
Tumblr media
Venus nakshatra natives are frequently cast in roles where it is shown their presence alone unsettles the order of the world. There is something about them that does not sit quietly or serve as ornament but instead provokes the surrounding environment. It draws others in, but not without cost. For women, this experience is one of being thrust into a world that sees them as both sacred and dangerous. They are often compared to monsters or witches. Their being becomes a mirror that others cannot bear to look into, and so they are punished for it. They may be violated, disbelieved, exiled, or otherwise estranged from any sense of comfort they might have enjoyed had their mere existence not stirred so much feeling. Their lives are marked by continual intrusion, as if the world cannot allow them peace. Even when they seek stillness, something is always thrown at them, whether it be a betrayal, a demand, or a trial that forces them back into defense. These women often take on the role of warriors, but not because they wanted to fight. They are compelled to armor themselves for survival.
Tumblr media
In the sense of Hindu tradition, they carry the curse of the apsara born into the mortal realm. Their sacred femininity, which once danced freely in the halls of Indra, is now condemned to walk through fire again and again until it becomes something diamond-like. Their softness, when it does survive, is forged rather than given. For Venusian women, the world they walk through is anything but neutral. It is structured by male dominance, and their experience is shaped by the cost of existing within that structure. These women are punished simply for taking up space. Their softness is not protected, and it is weaponized against them. They often do not belong in the realms they move through, but they cannot retreat from them either. Their stories become a meditation on survival not as preservation, but survival as transformation under pressure. They are shaped by the gaze and actions of others, then blamed for the shape they become.
Tumblr media
For men born under Venus nakshatras, the tension between Venus and the Moon manifests as a more forceful expression of desire and control rather than passivity or softness that hardens over time. I would consider these men less as victims of their nature and more as active perpetrators who embody the more aggressive and manipulative aspects of Venus’s energy, reflecting the planet’s role as the guru of the asuras and the rajasic planet that cannot take no for an answer. However, they are definitely one way to see an outcome of toxic masculinity. Their connection to Venus compels them to assert power through seduction, coercion, or disruption, imposing their will on others in pursuit of what they desire. So, remember it is the Moon experiencing Venus, so for the male psyche, it is more about chasing after what they want. This dynamic is embedded in the karmic lessons they face, where the intoxication of Venusian allure becomes a double-edged sword, granting influence but also inviting conflict and moral ambiguity. These men force confrontation with uncomfortable truths about desire, dominance, and vulnerability. Their lives unfold amid cycles of power struggles and fractured relationships, highlighting the cost of wielding Venus’s energy without the balancing grace or empathy that the Moon seeks. In this way, their path is one of reckoning with how far desire can push beyond the limits of compassion and respect, making their stories intense explorations of the consequences when beauty and power become weapons rather than gifts.
Tumblr media
Moving beyond the personal dynamics of Venus nakshatra natives, it is important to consider how these energies influence broader patterns in life and society. Venus, as the guru of the asuras, governs not only desire and attraction but also the structures of temptation and disruption that challenge established order. Viewed through the lens of Vimshottari and the Moon’s experience, Venus periods provoke situations where illusions and attachments intensify, forcing individuals and communities to confront the consequences of indulgence, manipulation, and power struggles. This influence extends beyond personal experience into social and cultural upheaval, moments when accepted values are questioned and boundaries tested. Venus nakshatra phases become karmic opportunities for transformation that demand active engagement rather than passive acceptance. They bring hidden tensions related to status, identity, and control to the surface, compelling a reckoning with the cost of desire that surpasses superficial gratification. These cycles push not only individuals but entire collectives into situations exposing vulnerabilities, provoking conflict, and offering a chance to reexamine what is truly valuable and sustainable in life. This theme appears often in media portrayals of Venus nakshatra archetypes, where characters embodying these energies frequently disrupt established social norms and provoke intense emotional reactions. Whether portrayed as enigmatic seductresses, dangerous rebels, or charismatic manipulators, these figures reflect the tension between allure and threat that defines Venus’s influence on the Moon.

𓂀 ASHWINI NAKSHATRA EXPLORATION .
AN: click "alt" to see the astrological placements
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍯 ASHWINI BASICS AND SYMBOLS .
ashwini spans 0°00 - 13°20 aries. its vimshottari ruler is ketu. ashwini's symbol is a horse's head.
ashwini's deities are the ashwini kumaras, twin gods known to be celestial healers, physicians, and are associated with the sunrise and sunset.
ashwini is known as 'the star of transport'. its shakti is shidravyapani shakti, meaning the power to 'quickly attain one's objectives'.
ashwini's basis above is creatures to be healed and its basis below is healing therapies. ashwini's desire is 'the ability to hear well and not be deaf'.
🍯 ASHWINI AND LIBERTY .
Tumblr media
one mythological story of ashwini is about their mother, sandhya devi, who was the wife of lord surya (the sun). she couldn't stand the heat of the sun and so turned into a horse and ran away, leaving a shadow form of herself. when he realised this was not really her, surya turned into a horse and ran after her. they then both had twins in those horse forms and these twins were the ashwini kumaras.
ashwini is associated with speed and a desire for freedom and liberation. this is why ashwini has a connection with romeo and juliet, as they desired liberation from their family's judgment and restrictions. i have seen ashwini's desire for freedom shown in many different forms of media.
kathryn merteuil from cruel intentions had a monologue where she called herself the "marsha fucking brady of the upper east side" during her commentary on the societal restrictions placed on women, and also pointed out the double standards between men and women. the entire movie is about the dichotomy between her and her stepbrother who is allowed to express himself completely and even break girls' hearts, while she must present herself as perfect. she states how she wishes to be free from these restrictions. kathryn was played by sarah michelle gellar, an ashwini sun.
malcolm x, an ashwini moon, was a civil rights activist and aimed to free black people from their oppression. he famously stated that this would be attained "by any means necessary".
the smokey and headless nature of ketu leads to its association with drugs and substances. we can see this with rue in euphoria (played bu zendaya who has an ashwini moon). since ketu is the body of a serpent with no head and intoxicants tend to remove mental inhibitions, it's no surprise that ketu nakshatras are represented as using them in media. rue is shown running a lot in the show and this is very ashwini of her. a scene even shows her jumping out of a car and running straight through traffic. we can see throughout the show that rue leans on drugs when she has a lot of stress in her life, and she even literally runs away from her problems, relating to the ashwini horse symbolism.
michael corleone from the godfather is played by ashwini sun, al pacino. he essentially aims to free his family from their crimimanl life and become "legitimate". this also links to a point that i will touch on later surrounding ashwini's desire to separate from all falsehoods and to, either, become truth incarnate or seek out the truth.
🍯 ASHWINI AND POWER .
Tumblr media
through my research, i have found that ashwini natives possess an almost scary determination to achieve their goals and power.
ashwini is also a pioneering nakshatra, relating to its horse symbolism and aries energy, as well as ashwini sitting directly after the last sign (pisces) and before bharani (the yoni aka birth), making ashwini the void between death and birth. ashwini wants to move things from a stagnant energy (the void) to a more productive and active one, even advocating for the use of violence to get things done over co-operation and collaboration. this relates to the ashwini serial killer trope and as ashwini are deva gana, they think they are divine and above humanity especially coming after revati, which has transcended humanity. we can see all these themes play out in michael's more violent ways of gaining power compared to his father, emphasised in the scene of him culling all his enemies and competition. the symbolism in this scene is even more poignant as it shows michael at a baby's baptism while the gruesome murders are taking place at his order. the holy and divine (deva) juxtaposed by the mass murder and extreme control and power (ketu and mars).
michael corleone (ashwini sun) is known for coming across cool, calm, collected and level headed even when in serious situations. he possesses a cold and detached exterior (ketu), which contrasts his explosive anger and violent tendencies (mars/aries). michael corleone is also known for his intense gaze and his eyes showing the anger he keeps inside. malcom x (ashwini moon) was presented as the violent and radical contrast to the nonviolent martin luther king jr, as malcolm advocated for black people to use self-defence. both malcolm x and michael corleone are known for their pent up anger or frustration, and for their radical natures compared to their predecessors. they both utilised this frustration for something greater than themselves and to achieve their goals, as both were loyal to "their group" – michael's being his family, and malcolm's being black people.
blair waldorf (ashwini moon) also possesses this scary determination for a goal. she was willing to do whatever it took to achieve her goals [get into yale, rule the upper east side]. ashwini natives seem to have this mentality of doing whatever it takes — malcolm x's most famous quote is "by any means necessary". the sun exalts in ashwini, and the sun rules over willpower and courage, which is why it does so well in ashwini. the ashwini kumaras also did many things that they wanted to do, even if it upset the other gods.
there are several gang bosses with ashwini placements. one is gus fring from breaking bad (played by giancarlo esposito – ashwini sun) is known for his stern determination in gaining power and control over the drugs business. he was willing to do whatever it took to achieve this goal, including killing people (and he would kill people himself too). tommy shelby from peaky blinders (played by cillian murphy – a possible ashwini moon) also ran a gang and used horses a lot, with horse racing and horse betting playing a large role in his business.
cate blanchett (ashwini moon) played hela in thor. hela is the ruler of the underworld and was insanely power hungry as she wanted to rule the universe. she also played lady tremaine in cinderella, who was married to cinderella's father as a gold digger.
🍯 ASHWINI SERIAL KILLERS .
Tumblr media
ashwini nakshatra is related to serial killers. you can watch this video to see why - i will only be expanding off this point.
some examples of ashwini serial killers:
christian bale (ashwini moon) played patrick bateman in american psycho.
michael c. hall (ashwini moon) played dexter morgan in dexter.
mamoru miyano (ashwini moon) played light yagami in death note.
as i touched on when i discussed michael corleone, ashwini natives tend to kill for a "higher purpose" or due to their "morals" as they are a deva (divine) nakshatra. dexter morgan claims to have "standards" and even has a code where he has to prove someone is a criminal or monster in order to kill them. light yagami claimed his death note was necessary for a new world order that he would be the god of, and he began his mass murder by focusing on criminals.
depictions of ashwini violence tend to use copious amounts of blood as a motif. the uncontrolled and violent nature of aries is heightened in ashwini due to the extremity of mars and ketu (ketu is said to behave like mars), and the natives express the built up energy present in ashwini. both mars and ketu are said to be hot planets and ashwini's colour is blood red.
examples:
gus fring slitting victor's throat in season 4, episode 1 of breaking bad. this action is very quick and unexpected, and is also followed by a LOT of blood spilling out everywhere. [watch this video at your own discretion.]
patrick bateman is a great ashwini character in my opinion. he speaks about how he lacks an identity, mirroring the headless nature of ketu, yet he still desires power and recognition, which is very ashwini. he also has scenes with lots of blood in it, which you can see in the gif above.
🍯 ASHWINI AND THE TRUTH .
Tumblr media
Annibale Carracci (1560–1609), An Allegory of Truth and Time (1584), oil on canvas, 130 x 169.6 cm, Royal Collection of the United Kingdom, England. Wikimedia Commons.
the truth is usually depicted in art as naked – as in, the naked truth – and as rising out of a well, usually said to have been put there by lies and deceit. truth is also depicted with a mirror and squeezing a snake. i believe that ketu and ashwini relate to the idea of truth.
PAINTING: Truth or Fiction by Eleanor Fortescue-Brickdale. i was going to include this painting but tumblr slapped a content warning on it ( because truth is naked, as she should be). Eleanor has ketu in jyeshtha, which is ketu's exaltation point, showing that those with heightened ketu influence in their chart seem to contemplate the idea of "truth" a lot.
ketu's birth nakshatra is ashlesha, which has a coiled serpent as its symbol and its deity is the serpent, naga. ketu is said to remove the effects of snakebites and illnesses from poisons. serpents are also associated with healing and are even used in medical symbols. ashwini is related to healing as well, as the ashwini kumaras healed many illnesses, including blindness.
prudence (one of the four cardinal virtues) is also represented by holding a mirror and squeezing a snake. prudence is the ability to discern between virtuous and unvirtuous actions – this relates to claire nakti's idea that mula (ketu ruled) vampires are the type of vampires that can restrain themselves when it comes to killing and consuming human blood, becoming "good" vampires.
onto ashwini examples:
"if you're white, you can go forward, and if you're black, you have to fight your way every step of the way, and you still don't get forward." – malcolm x (krittika sun, ashwini moon).
krittika is a sun ruled nakshatra and ashwini is a ketu ruled nakshatra. both sun and ketu have a constant desire to find the truth, and cut through lies, falsehoods and dishonesty. malcolm x fought to break through the injustices in society that faced black people and other ethnic minorities.
this links to michael corleone again, as he ultimately wanted to free his family from a life of crime and become legitimate.
ashwini opposes rahuvian swati – the illusory cosmic egg where people get sucked into the illusions of maya. therefore, ashwini is the opposite of this and is the embodiment of the naked and raw truth (the raw, empty, unfiltered void before creation, and before anything has polluted the pure void).
🍯 ASHWINI DETECTIVES .
Tumblr media
as i mentioned above, ashwini is the height of truth and many things related to ashwini prove this. sun representing truth itself and exalting in ashwini; ketu relating to truth; ashwini opposing the illusory swati. ashwini's desire to cut through deception and falsehoods relates to detectives.
ashwini detective examples:
zendaya (ashwini moon) played rue bennett in euphoria.
daniel craig (ashwini moon) played benoit blanc in knives out.
benedict cumberbatch (ashwini moon) played sherlock holmes in sherlock.
🍯 ASHWINI, THE TRICKSTERS .
Tumblr media
THIS is where the ashwini dichotomy comes into play. even though ashwini is related to the absolute naked truth, they are also related to twisting the truth and being tricksters.
the ashwini kumaras are said to have tricked indra by replacing dadheechi's head with a horse's head and when indra cut his head off, they put his regular head back on, saving his life. this trickster characteristic is either for the greater good or to challenge an authority. this is because the ashwini kumaras defied indra and the gods many times by healing humans when he told them not to.
ashwini natives also tend to be hated and outcasted. they are also underestimated a lot and their achievements are downplayed and not fully appreciated by people. they tend to be the ashwini kumaras were not accepted as gods due to being demi-gods and spending too much time with humans.
examples:
felicia hardy played by and associated with ashwini women:
erica lindbeck (ashwini moon) played felicia hardy.
amber heard (ashwini sun) - fancasted as felicia hardy.
loki (played by tom hiddleston) is a literal trickster god. it's not entirely sure whether tom hiddleston is an ashwini or revati moon, especially because the gandanta point makes these nakshatras quite similar. both have a relation to tricksters.
he believed he was superior to everyone, mirroring ashwini natives feeling above humanity like i said in the serial killer portion (as ashwini is a deva nakshatra). this does relate to revati too.....
tom hiddleston was also in kong skull island, which is a movie in which people have to survive on an island, facing a large ape. magha (a ketu nakshatra) is related to this trope and ashwini is trine magha. however, lara croft is related to revati nakshatra and fits in this trope too. i have a lara croft post coming, where i will be exploring her astrologically!
however, i believe loki is ashwini. he has this desire for power and recognition that is so plainly ashwini to me. i wouldn't be surprised if he has revati ascendant though.
[side note: i mentioned ashwini natives' achievements being downplayed due to the ashwini kumaras being demi-gods, and this fits beyoncé completely. her birth time was revealed and her achievements are constantly unappreciated and undermined – beychella, her records, her songwriting skill, her singing skill, her ability to perform, the level of her fame, not winning grammys when she should have etc.]
🍯 THE ASHWINI DICHOTOMY .
Tumblr media
the ashwini dichotomy is this:
the search for truth and permeating through all falsehoods for equality or moral reasons .
detective trope
bookworm trope (searching for truth and knowledge)
final girl trope
activists and politicans (many pan-africanists have ashwini)
VERSUS
utilising the chaotic void and blackhole of identity to become a trickster and/or a master manipulator, in order to gain power and influence.
mean girl / spoiled brat trope (kathryn merteuil as i mentioned above)
serial killers trope
tricksters trope
politicians (they're also tricksters, if you think about it)
OR
ashwini natives are depicted as a mix of these two expressions.

nakshatra tarabala
note: to calculate tarabala, you must count (inclusively) how far away a nakshatra is from any given nakshatra; for instance, magha is nine away from bharani — the ninth tarabala aspect is known as atimitra tara, akin to a best friend, the most beloved. after nine, the tenth nakshatra gets counted as one, and so on. in this manner, mula and ashwini are also considered atimitra to bharani and the other two vimshottari venus-ruled nakshatras.
the traditional planetary friendships and enemies are used in relation to the the twelve rashis or zodiac signs, and do not coincide with tarabala aspects. for instance, the sun-ruled nakshatras consider the venus nakshatras as atimitra, best friends, and sun nakshatras are sampat (providing ease and enrichment) to the venus nakshatras, making it a mutually beneficial relationship. whereas traditionally, sun and venus are considered enemy planets. tarabala can be used to look at the interplay & dynamics between nakshatras in a birth chart or in synastry
we can see if planets at birth or in transit will give positive or challenging results based on their tarabala (in reference to the moon's nakshatra); for example, planets in sampat tara (the 2nd, 11th and 20th nakshatra from the moon) will considerably amplify results delivered by said planet. the same concept applies to planets in transits as well as the other eight types of tarabala (star strength)
(in the following list '1' refers to the same nakshatra and the two nakshatras which trine it, '2' refers to the following nakshatra and the nakshatras that trine it, '3' refers to the third nakshatra away and its trine nakshatras, and so on and so forth. for venus nakshatras, the second nakshatra away (sampat tara) will be a sun-ruled nakshatra, for mars it will be rahu, etc)
﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉୨♡୧﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉﹉
the nine tarabala categories
┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ୨♡୧ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈ ┈
(1) janma tara; co-born, of the same kind, quality, nature. nakshatras which trine your janma (birth) nakshatra will give long lasting results as they are bound to you by birth
competition & rivalry may be present due to inherent similarities between these nakshatras
positive tarabala (2, 4, 6, 8, 9 nakshatras away)
(2) sampat tara; nakshatras of this tara category bring affluence, enjoyment, prosperity, wealth, good fortune to the original nakshatra; one meaning of sampat is 'the act of coming together'
(4) kshema tara; nakshatras of this category provide comfort, security, relief, protection; results here can be sudden/unexpected yet generally beneficial
(6) sādhak tara; progress, achievement or attainment of one's goals; worship, adoration. planets here support the fulfillment of one's goals & desires through willful consistently applied effort
(8) mitra tara; a friend, ally, companion to the original nakshatra
(9) paramitra or atimitra tara; best friend. the prefix para means supreme, highest or absolute & the prefix ati means very, extremely, exceedingly or beyond
atimitra = an extremely good friend or beyond friendship, a lover
challenging tarabala (3, 5, 7 nakshatras away)
(3) vipat tara; draining resources, spending, adversity, obstacles; vipat also means 'to be divided or separated'
(5) pratyak tara; moving backwards or in the opposite direction; against or contrary to - may seem attractive or promising initially
(7) naidhana tara; related to the 8th house of death, endings, destruction, transformation; there may be sudden and traumatic endings to the things signified by planets in this tara category

Hey Marsprincess, I love your blog! 💞
I just read your post on Ketu and your core self. I was wondering about your thoughts on how ketu in uttara phalguni manifests? I would really appreciate it because I never hear about this ketu placement.
Thank you so much 🤍🤍
I would assume you were born in 1987/1988 or, more likely, in 2005/2006.
So, I have gotten another ask asking about a particular ketu placement and I have said the same thing to them that I am going to say now: ketu, in its essence, is a part of a person that is primal, raw, instinctual, subconcious and unyielding. Ketu is the most passive(and the hottest) planet in vedic astrology. It is the joint stored energy/experiences of a person, from this and previous lives. It is what is biologically natural to you, and thus, is rooted in truth.
You have to be in a state of complete trust and passivity to connect to it and to access its energy. And since it is the place where YOU make the rules, you cannot really ask others about it.
Ketu in uttara phalguni, in general, means you are strongly and naturally familiar with the uttara phalguni archetype(like i have always been with jyeshta_my ketu).
I really wanna write and explore uttara phalguni (it's also my ascendant,hi! 😄). So, this is not even half of what it is about, but, here it goes: contracts, agreements, marriage, associations, friend, companion, partner, popularity, good reputation. This is the bare surface. It's also connected to the archetype of the "perfect wife/girlfriend/lover"(wife moreso). Uttara Phalguni's yoni is the bull (male cow, so, the bull😄) and cow yonis have this softness, naturality, but also stubbornness to them. Contrast this to their enemies_ tiger yonis, who are more confrontational and focused on building, and more bogged down by details. Cow yonis have this sense of ease and unity to them, and an aura of taking the high road. They might sometimes seem really unbothered(except when they're with each other, which is a whole another story). Uttara phalguni in particular, since its ruled by the sun, can be very direct and unbothered by others' opinions. That's why in men it often manifests as the douchebag or the prick placement(lol). In women, I have noticed that they are pretty similar to men of this nakshatra in that they also have this unbotheted and fun-loving aura, but can become way more confrontational than men who can be more intentionally ignorant, if that makes sense.
The interesting thing is that despite all of its associations of getting ahead in life thanks to relationships and connections, natives of this nakshatra are actually probably genuinely the nicest people. That may be why people like to have them close, because they know that they do not have bad intentions. It can also be associated with marrying personal and proffessional lives, like having your loved ones at your job or starting a business with yoir partner. Uttara phalguni and uttara bhadrapada really are the power couple in its classical sense, no two ways about it.
In my opinion, it's also connected to the archetype of the rich heir/heiress who everyone wants to marry.
My recommendation would be to watch/rewatch "The Mask of Zorro", the 1998 film, and really pay attention Elena(Catherine Zeta-Jones). She's Uttara Bhadrapada moon, but her Sun and Ketu(!!!) are Uttara Phalguni and I think that in that movie, Uttara Phalguni is the archetype that she's playing, esp because Antonio Banderas has U. Bhadrapada moon himself. Actually they're kinda perfect for studying their dynamic. Another good one is "The Great"(Elle Fanning_ U.Phalguni moon and Nicholas Hoult_ Uttsra Bhadrapada moon).
Anyways, I think I have more to say but I cannot remember them now and I hope that what I did say is understandable and interesting.
Thank you so much for asking 🤍🤍🤍 feel free to ask more.

When you’ll get married depends entirely on your Vimshottari Dasha period
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vimshottari Dashas consist of planetary periods in a person's life that are ruled by one planet for several years. This is considered the Main Period and it’s called Mahadasha.
Main planetary period = Mahadasha
Within that main period there are 9 sub-periods featuring the 7 traditional planets including Rahu (the North Node) and Ketu (the South Node).
Sub-planetary periods = Antardasha
You will get married during the Mahadasha (main period) or the Antardasha (sub-period) of the following:
7th house lord in sidereal natal chart
7th house lord in D9 Navamsa chart
Planets in 7th house of sidereal natal chart
Planets in 7th house of D9 Navamsa chart
Upapada Lagna lord (I have a post on how to find your Upapada Lagna)
Darakaraka planet (Planet with the lowest degree in your sidereal natal chart)
How to find your Dashas:
Go to Astro-Seek.com, scroll down and click on Sidereal Astrology on the front page.
Tumblr media
Then click on Vimshottari Dasha Periods.
Tumblr media
After filling in your date of birth, time of birth, location of birth, select Moon’s Nakshatra.
*You should ALSO check your Dasha period under Ascendant’s Nakshatra!
Tumblr media
After clicking Calculate Dasha you’ll see this:
Tumblr media
Real life example:
My Moon’s Nakshatra based Dasha period when I got married for the first time:
Jupiter Mahadasha / Saturn Antardasha
Tumblr media
Jupiter is in the 7th house in my Navamsa chart
Saturn is the lord of my Aquarius 7th house in my sidereal natal chart
My Ascendant’s Nakshatra based Dasha period when I got married for the first time:
Rahu Mahadasha / Jupiter Antardasha
Tumblr media
Rahu is the co-lord of my Aquarius 7th house in my sidereal natal chart (because in Vedic astrology Aquarius is ruled by Saturn and Rahu)
Jupiter is in the 7th house in my Navamsa chart

Who Are You? Where To Find Yourself in a Chart. Part 1.
Tumblr media
We know how important it is to know ourselves. Last time, I gave you here a list of the main indicators but the aim was to find your Lunar sign, or your core nakshatra. Here, we go deeper into the layers of our minds.
After that, in my next post, I will recap the divisional charts that will help you delve deeper.
The List of the Indicators
Moon: This is a crucial planet to look at. In India, it is generally considered to be your birth nakshatra. The Moon defines your Vimshottari Dasha, or future, as soon as you were born. She shows your psychological and biological karma, your mind and the way you move in society. The Moon indicates your emotions, desires and past life experiences as well. These experiences will still reflect in your behavior today. These experiences, emotions, thoughts come and go like the waves of the sea.
Ascendant/Rising Sign (Lagna): It shows how you integrate yourself with society but in a physical way. In other words, it shows how you present yourself and how your life's environment looks like. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT SHOWS WHERE YOU FOCUS. Any planet situated in your first house (using the whole sign system), will sit permanently in your head.
Sun: It is a significant planet as it is your battery. How can you live without energy? How can you live without the Sun?... It is impossible. Here, the Sun represents your vitality, your health, your spiritual development and your righteous actions.
The Ascendant Lord (or Lagna Lord/LL or Lagnesha): It shows the same things as the ascendant but in a more active way. It shows how you get nourishment, your passion in life. It also shows where you focus. The Lagna Lord indicates where your intelligence is best applied and what kind of situations you deal with since early age.
Dharma Lord: It is not commonly used but from my experience, it works wonderfully. It is the planet which is related to your lagna nakshatra (e.g, if your lagna is in Purva Ashadha, then, Venus becomes your Dharma Lord). This planet becomes the Lord of your dharma or righteous duty. It shows you the path and the challenges you will encounter, as well as the solutions to them.
Atmakaraka (AK): The Atmakaraka is the significator of your soul. It is the planet with the highest degree in your chart. It represents your difficult karmas to burn and how to deal with them. This karma trash resonates with the nature of your AK planet, therefore, you will behave the opposite way to how this planet is supposed to behave in the end. It also shows your potential, what is important for you and how you realize yourself.
Ketu: Ketu denotes your past life experiences, like the Moon but unlike her, Ketu does not behave like the sea waves, but it actually behaves like a place where you stock your former behavioral patterns and experiences. It can be compared to your subconscious. It represents our true, hidden, nature but we are mostly unaware of it. It is also the place where we get bored because we had experienced these areas too much before, hence Ketu being called as “comfort zone” even though, it is not always very comfortable due to being boring. This boredom will attract you to Rahu, its opposite polarity, the unknown, exciting jungle.
Mahadasha Lord: Using the Vimshottari dasha, your current Maha Dasha Lord, which rules your current period of life, will impact your mind and behavior. It will not last for ever but it stays there for a couple of years, so, you cannot neglect it.
The first syllable of your first name: Don't forget your first name! The two first sounds of your name corresponds to a particular nakshatra. Even if there is no planet sitting there in your birth chart, this nakshatra will also influence your behavior and life. Themes of this nakshatra will definitely play out in your life.
The secondary indicators
Mercury: Mercury is the planet of rationality. It is your rational intellect. It shows how you manage your daily routine challenges in life, as well as other practical knowledge. It shows the way you learn, and the way you express yourself.
Rahu: Rahu shows your biggest obsessions. It represents your most intense desires. It is actually about illusory desires because once they are fulfilled, you still want more. It is a place where you are always unsatisfied, hence frustration. You might get so annoyed that you totally give up on your Rahu, which leads you automatically to your Ketu, and you stay there. But Ketu, even though it is comfortable, you end up getting bored, and in the end, you go back to your Rahu. It is the endless cycle of the nodes, which were initially one body (Svarbhanu): one cannot leave the other. Rahu also represents the unknown fields for you, which also lead to fears. As it represents the unknown, you are quite new to what Rahu represents in your chart, hence you are likely to act awkwardly there.
Arudha Lagna: It represents the appearance made by the Maya, the material illusion of our environment. This is the appearance that all strangers will see from you at first. It is your image, e.g, your image on the social media, your reputation in general... This appearance is all made up: it is rarely linked to your true self. But it explains why people behave a certain way with you and not another. The Lord of this lagna should be taken into account too.
Aries: This sign represents the first house in the original kaal purush kundli. The house it occupies, the planets that sit and aspect there will remain in your head. In other words, you will also focus on them.
Cancer, the Fourth house: They both represent the peace of mind, your privacy, and most importantly, your heart. What does your heart desire? The house Cancer occupies, any planet sitting, aspecting Cancer and the fourth house will show you what.

Hey,
Can you please tell how to see when one will get married or meet our future spouse through vimshottari Dasha?
check the amsa deity of your d60 chart's 7th house lord or the planet itself and see when they got married according to mythology for extra but accurate info; if they married young, when they were successful in their endeavour, when they were old etc and you'll get married in a similar state as well. although the deity not begin married doesn't always mean you won't get married either, but if supported by the right aspects then it might be the case too.
check the md / ad period of your d60 chart's 7th lord or the planets in 7th house and see which period also overlaps with the period of your d1 / d9 7th lord's ad / md or d1 charts dk planets ad / md. if such a case is not possible, as in seems wrong, then go for jupiter's md for women and venus md for men. in general if nothing seems to make sense, go for venus.
for eg, my 7th lord in d60 is jupiter and contains the planets of sun and moon. my d9 7th lord is sun and d1 7th lord is jupiter. BUT my jupiter md comes when ill be about 50. there's nothing wrong with that itself, but acc to mythology jupiter signifies a more mature spouse 'older' in various manners and his wife is younger than him so my own marriage will happen at a younger age somehere like 20-30 bcs my own jupiter signifies my spouse so they'll be the more mature person.
as such, my dk is venus which will have a period of 16-36 in my life. now, even in this i'll have my venus md jupiter ad period around 2035 which is very likely the period i'll get married in. i'll have my venus md + sun / moon ad in a few years too, but it's very less likely for me to get married in that period. jupiter ad seems most probable due to the strong influence of jupiter on 7th house themes and venus being dk means its md signifies marriage.
this is usually the most reliable method. the 7th lrd of your d60 holds the most power here though, so definitely keep an eye on that planet.

how are you gonna casually mention the symbolism behind dan's branding and not drop the entire essay, wth op... 😔
Mostly because if I write it, it'll take a lot of effort, and I think I'll be writing for an audience of one, LOL, given that I tend to get slightly technical with vedic astrology, and my whole thesis is based on vedic astrology, LMAO. And, bc this is already in my mind, I didn't really think to elaborate on it, given how much vedic astrology exposition I would have to do. But, I am itching at the seams to talk about it, so prepare for a long ass essay under the cut, ig
DISCLAIMER: I am not trying to say that any of this is REAL, I am simply pointing out coincidences and patterns that are interesting to me. While I believe in astrology, I don't expect others to, and I'm uninterested in arguing about the causes, effects, and underlying meaning of any of this. I just find it interesting
Basic thing is that Dan has Ketu (South Node) in the first house, and that is interesting, because Ketu is quite an invisible planet. Like, what it rules is authenticity, purity, soul purpose, divine inspiration, isolation. When you think of a planet like this, it's almost impossible for it to get famous, if that makes any sense. Fame would ruin the purity of a planet like this. The ideal expression of this planet is as a saint or a monk, away from the world.
Fortunately, this planet is always expressed to the masses through its opposite, Rahu (North Node). Rahu is a planet that rules glamour, the material world, fame, the occult. Rahu and Ketu are two halves of a whole, often symbolized by an immortal beheaded serpent. Ketu is considered to be the body of the serpent (lacking senses, but has the ability to move using muscle memory), and Rahu, the head of the serpent (ability to speak, think, see, focus, but unable to act). Having Ketu in first house means that Dan's Rahu is in the seventh house, the house of the partner.
Because Ketu is associated with purity, it's also associated with loss, fire, and doom. Kind of like, it burns down whatever is in its way, and what remains is the purest form of the object (According to hindu mythology, the material world is not real, and ashes, then, show the inherent nothingness of the world. brand appropriate for Dan). This is where we get into Dan's first symbolic brand, which is "danisnotonfire". With this branding, Dan sort of erases the effect of the firey nature of Ketu, and increase his Rahu. Funnily enough, according to the Vimshottari Dasha system, his Rahu dasha (activation period for Rahu) began in April 2009. I couldn't begin to make this shit up, because Dan started his twitter account in May 2009, a month after his rahu dasha started. This dasha will end in April 2027, btw.
With Rahu being in the house of the spouse, this name is also what attracted his partner to him (Phil has pretty significant Rahu in his chart, as well, which is why he is indicated by Rahu in Dan's chart, but Dan's Rahu is stronger, just harder for him to access, since it is not HIM). This partner also brought him fame and material gain.
Because Rahu is associated with glamour, it's also associated with inauthenticity, hoarding (material resources are simply not real), anxiety and, also... fun. Ketu is all about purity, doom and gloom, and meditation, but Rahu is about stimulation. If you get too into it, and base your life on it, it becomes anxiety inducing, but if you treat it as a video game you can log out of anytime, it starts to become fun and enjoyable. Unfortunately, this is very difficult for most people to do, because Rahu is the material reality that tries to trick you into thinking it is the most important thing in the world.
Rahu and Ketu require for there to be a balance, basically, for their ideal expressions, because excess of Ketu brings depression and inertia, while excess of Rahu brings anxiety and overstimulation. They are natural cures for one another. Rahu and Ketu are also not real planets, and they are mathematical points that are meant to show the timings for... eclipses. Yes, a classic Dan Branding!!!!
The best way to deal with Rahu and Ketu is by enjoying Rahu, and then burning down the Rahu with Ketu whenever it gets too anxiety inducing. So, when Dan got tired of the inauthenticity of Rahu, he basically burned down the danisnotonfire brand, to be more authentic to himself. And, during this time as Daniel Howell (his true self, in a way), he posted less, and he came out as gay to be true to himself (Ketu authenticity).
Because he actively tried to strengthen his Ketu during this time, he also lost a lot of projects he meant to do (ketu rules loss, if you guys remember), and had a bit of a difficult time. Ketu isn't an easy planet to deal with, AT ALL. Strong Ketu means dealing with constant failures, dislike from other people, and being forcibly isolated in many ways. That said, Ketu is still a force to be reckoned with, and if something is successful even when Ketu is strong, it's considered extremely important, materially as well as spiritually, because it is divinely guided, and Dan executed some of his absolute best work during this time, as well, as is natural for ketu.
Anyway, Dan's new return to youtube is marked by... DanandPhilGames, the channel where he is with Phil, who represents his Rahu. With Phil, he can gain a lot of success, because Rahu allows you to do the fun and silly projects that Ketu will never let you do.
I think that's maybe all of it? If you guys have any questions, feel free to ask, LMAO
TL;DR
Rahu is inauthentic material life and also fun, ketu is authentic spirituality and also depression, Dan's Ketu is him by himself, and his Rahu is Phil. Dan's eclipse shirt brings balance to his Rahu and Ketu, his danisnotonfire brand reduced the impact of Ketu into his life, and also got his partner into his life, and the DanandPhilGames brand does a similar thing as danisnotonfire did.

WHAT IS MAHADASHA IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY
MahaDasha are the period the period ruled by a planet among the 9 planets of vedic horoscope. In layman’s language, the delivery of an event which is promised in the horoscpe is learned from the mahadasha period.
Derived from the Sanskrit terms Maha (great) and Dasha (period), Mahadasha delineates the planetary rulership over various aspects of a person's life for a specific duration, as per their natal chart (birth chart or horoscope).
The Mahadasha system is based on the Vimshottari Dasha, the most commonly used dasha system in Vedic astrology.
Vimshottari Dasha divides a person's life into 120 years, assigning fixed time spans to nine planets (including the two shadow planets, Rahu and Ketu).
These planets influence different areas of life such as health, career, relationships, and spiritual growth. The sequence and duration of each Mahadasha are determined by the position of the Moon in a particular nakshatra (lunar mansion) at the time of birth.
Sequence and Duration of Planets in Vimshottari Dasha
1. Ketu - 7 years
2. Venus - 20 years
3. Sun - 6 years
4. Moon - 10 years
5. Mars - 7 years
6. Rahu - 18 years
7. Jupiter - 16 years
8. Saturn - 19 years
9. Mercury - 17 years
The sequence always follows this order, starting with the planet associated with the nakshatra of the Moon at birth.
Understanding Mahadasha Influence
Each planet carries unique qualities and governs specific areas of life. The Mahadasha of a planet amplifies its significance in the birth chart, based on its:
Placement in the chart (house, sign, and strength).
Relationship with other planets (aspects and conjunctions).
Functional role (benefic or malefic, depending on the ascendant).
For instance, the Mahadasha of Venus might bring wealth, love, and luxuries if Venus is well-placed in the chart, but challenges in relationships if afflicted. Similarly, Saturn Mahadasha may bring hard work, delays, and discipline, teaching life lessons through perseverance.
Sub-periods (Antardasha)
Each Mahadasha is further divided into sub-periods called Antardashas or Bhuktis, where the influence of other planets operates within the broader period of the ruling planet. These provide a more detailed understanding of the unfolding events.
Key Effects of Mahadasha
Positive Outcomes: When the ruling planet is strong, well-placed, and benefic, its Mahadasha brings growth, prosperity, and harmony.
Challenges: If the planet is weak, afflicted, or malefic, the Mahadasha may trigger obstacles, health issues, or setbacks.
Spiritual Growth: Certain Mahadashas, like those of Ketu or Jupiter, often lead to introspection and spiritual transformation.
Mahadasha is a cornerstone of Vedic astrology, helping to understand life cycles and their impact. By analyzing the Mahadasha and its sub-periods, astrologers can provide guidance on navigating life's challenges and maximizing opportunities.
