Qigong ~ Food as Medicine ~ The Ultimate High-Phytochemical Food-Healing System
One of the most transcendent courses I took was from the Supreme Science Qigong Foundation taught by Jeff Primack, March 5-8, 2011, for a total of 32 hours, at the Connecticut Conference Center in Hartford. This covered Qigong healing using breathwork techniques in Levels 1, 2, and 3. I also took the additional 8-hour class the next day to learn how to use food as medicine. In all it was a…

Interpreting Viral Marker Test Results: What You Need to Know
In the realm of medical diagnostics, the Viral Marker Test stands out as a crucial tool for identifying and monitoring viral infections. This test plays a pivotal role in the early detection of viral pathogens, enabling timely intervention and management. In this article, we will delve into the fundamentals of the Viral Marker Test, its significance, and its application in the field of medicine.
What is a Viral Marker Test?
A Viral Marker Test, also known as a viral marker assay or viral serology test, is a diagnostic test designed to detect specific markers or components associated with viral infections in a patient's blood serum. These markers may include antibodies, antigens, or nucleic acids that are indicative of viral presence or past exposure.
Types of Viral Markers:
1. Antibodies:
Immunoglobulins IgM,IgA and IgG, are antibodies produced by the immune system in response to a viral infection. IgM is often the first to appear, indicating an active or recent infection, while IgG suggests past infection or immunity.
2. Antigens:
Viral antigens are substances that trigger an immune response. Detection of viral antigens in a patient's blood may indicate an ongoing infection. Antigen tests are commonly used for rapid diagnosis.
3. Nucleic Acids:
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests detect the genetic material (RNA or DNA) of the virus. PCR is highly sensitive and can identify the virus in the early stages of infection.
Significance of Viral Marker Testing:
1. Early Detection:
Viral Marker Tests are instrumental in the early identification of viral infections. Early detection allows for prompt medical intervention, reducing the severity and duration of the illness.
2. Monitoring Disease Progression:
Serial testing with Viral Markers helps healthcare professionals monitor the progression of viral infections. Changes in marker levels over time provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of treatments.
3. Public Health Surveillance:
Viral Marker Tests play a crucial role in monitoring and controlling the spread of infectious diseases within communities. They aid in identifying and isolating infected individuals, helping to prevent outbreaks.
Applications of Viral Marker Testing:
1. HIV Testing:
Viral Marker Tests, particularly those detecting HIV- Antibody, are widely used for screening and diagnosing HIV infections.
2. Hepatitis Screening:
Tests for hepatitis viral markers, such as Hepatitis B surface Antigen(HBsAg) and anti-HCV antibodies, are vital for diagnosing and monitoring hepatitis infections.
3. COVID-19 Diagnosis:
The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of Viral Marker Testing. PCR tests and antigen tests are commonly used to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2.
Conclusion:
Viral Marker Testing has revolutionised the field of diagnostics, providing healthcare professionals doctors with valuable tools for the early detection and monitoring of viral infections. As technology continues to advance, these tests are likely to become even more accurate, enabling more effective strategies for managing infectious diseases. The importance of Viral Marker Tests in safeguarding public health cannot be overstated, making them an indispensable component of modern medical practice.

HELP ALAA ACHIEVE €6,000 IN THE NEXT 2 DAYS!
THIS IS URGENT! Please have a look at this fundraiser. It belongs to Alaa Amsee ( @alaakh99 ) who is a loving mother to two beautiful children named Maria and Hamza.
Alaa has had her tumblr account terminated for the SECOND TIME, resulting in her being unable to continue her efforts to campaign for herself and her children at a VERY  crucial time. It should infuriate you to see this happen, especially in light of the recent smear campaign against palestinian gfms. We can assume now that many of the Palestinian blogs have been deactivated, because of baseless reports of being scams.
THE LAST DONATION CAME IN 23 HOURS AGO. PRIOR TO THAT, SOME DONATIONS CAME IN 2 DAYS AGO!!
We CANNOT  let this fundraiser be stagnant.  Alaa and her two children are suffering from hepatitis, and malnutrition. Their lives are on the line and they need medical care ASAP!
Tumblr media
Her life wasn't always like this! Before October 7, Alaa led a peaceful life  with her family which consisted of her children, husband, in-laws and immediate family, but soon the nightmare began and came to a head on October 28, when her neighborhood got bombed in its entirety.
Alaa escaped certain death that night as her house collapsed and trapped her family in. Debris choked them all, and they had to be rescued from under the rubble and shattered glass. Alaa describes what she witnessed that night as "unimaginable"- death, corpses and blood, surrounded the family.
Tumblr media
Even after this tragedy, the pain did not let up and chased them to the Rimal neighborhood. The bombing continued and Alaa had to put wet masks on Maria and Hamza, so that the children could endure the terrible smoke and burning smell. Things got so bad throughout the next few months that Hamza who is only 3 years old, now talks only of bombings, rockets and tanks.
I want to remind you that Maria, Alaa's little daughter, has contracted hepatitis after being displaced for the third time, where they had to flee to Rafah. Being overcrowded, one can only access shared bathrooms which are primary causes of such viral infections. The children have suffered from epidemics and skin diseases, and the little tent Alaa has managed to acquire can barely sustain life in summer heat
Tumblr media
On top of that, there is hardly any nutritious food and clean drinking water- which means that at one point, the family had to survive on weeds and bread made from animal feed. I cannot tell you how horrible this is! How Alaa and her children still suffer even now. In fact, at the moment of writing this post, Alaa  messaged me about her tent shaking due to bombings nearby.
So I urge you not to ignore her, please, and help her reach her short term goal of 6K within the next 2 days !!
Her fundraiser  has been up since May and has only reached €4543 which is a little above 4% of her end goal! Please donate and share! I also request you to follow Alaa ( @alaakh99 ) and help her save her children from this genocide!

Right now, I want to draw your attention to Alaa's fundraiser. Alaa @alaakh99 is a Palestinian mother who is trying to provide for her young children, Maria and Hamza, while trapped in Gaza.
On October 28th of last year, Alaa's house was damaged by bombing, and she and her family were trapped inside for a time. Since then, they have been displaced several times, and are now living in a camp where disease spreads easily.
Both of Alaa's children are suffering from diseases contracted due to the unsafe conditions they live in. Her six year old daughter Maria has been infected with viral hepatitis due to the shared bathrooms at the camp where the now live. Her four year old son Hamza is now also suffering from a skin disease, which is spreading as they are unable to find medicine to treat him.
Alaa's life is now filled with fear and suffering. She yearns for safety and peace, for a home to stay in, for hope and stability. Most of all, she yearns for a future for her children. A future where they may laugh and play and learn, as all children have the right to do. Please support her, both through donations, and through sharing her story, so she may take care of her family.
€10,867 / €15,000 short term goal
Currently, Alaa has only been able to raise ~11% of her long term goal of €100,000. However, her short term goal of €15,000 is very close and reachable with help from you! Please support her campaign, so that she may provide for her children, and hopefully get them to safety soon.
Alaa's campaign has been vetted by @/90-ghost

🌼 This family needs your help! 🌼

Meet Alaa, her children, Maria and Hamza, and her newborn baby.
I can't forget the first words of my three-year-old son Hamza when he started speaking about war-related terms like bombings, rockets, and tanks.
Alaa is doing her best to keep her family safe, but they are quickly losing hope. These children are hungry, tired, and scared. They are suffering from severe burns, skin infections, and viral hepatitis -- it is impossible for them to get any treatment or help in Gaza right now. Alaa is relying on the compassion of strangers to get her family to safety.
Can you help them by making a donation?
If you cannot donate at this time, please follow @alaakh9 (prev. alaakh98), share her posts so they might be seen by others who can donate.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference 🌼

would you like to tell us about your research on virginity?
but also...wdym STIs aren't as scary as we think??? I was told most of them are incurable? I know you can make aids untrasmittable and that they've even succeded in curing it a couple times but that's about it. I would love to be educated about this
yeah, the basic idea with the virginity project was that the whole concept of virginity is pretty bullshit in the context in which it was initially significant, namely cisgender women being penetrated by cisgender men, so as soon as you take it outside of that context by introducing gay and trans sexuality it totally falls apart. I mean, hell, it stops working if you even look at two cishet people doing literally anything OTHER than penis-in-vagina sex. I tripped up so many people initially when I started asking questions like "okay, so you don't think a woman loses her virginity from a man going down on her. so what if it's two women? what's the difference?" and just really getting people to face down their very penis-centered view of the sex, to the result of several people telling me that it kind of made them reevaluate what they actually think of as the first time they had sex. it's also fascinating to either read other people's accounts or discuss firsthand how queer people have either tried to make themselves fit into the binary of virginity - queer man disagreeing over whether or not you have to have penetrative anal sex to lose your virginity or oral sex is sufficient, a fascinating case of a lesbian who felt that have sex with other cis women didn't "count" and asked a cis male friend to have sex with her just so she could feel satisfied that she'd lost her virginity - or abandon it entirely. Hanne Blank's book Virgin was a formative starting point, and it really exploded for me from there.
as for the STIs - hey, bad news! you fell victim to the scare tactics used to make people afraid of sex! almost all sexually transmitted infections are very easy to treat and cure with the right medicine, which is why it's important to get tested regularly and check in with your healthcare provider at the first sign of something amiss. pubic lice, scabies, trichomoniasis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis - all of those are pretty easy to get rid of with some help from your doctor and a run to the pharmacy!
the major exceptions are the 4 H's: herpes, HIV, HPV, and hepatitis B.
herpes is with you forever but is an incredibly mild companion to share your body with, considering most people never experience any notable symptoms and those who do can curb the severity with medicine.
it's also worth noting that herpes is so common as to be virtually ubiquitous; the World Health Organization consistently estimates that somewhere around 80% of the world's adult population is carrying herpes simplex virus 1 or herpes simplex virus 2. a great deal of those people don't even get it from having sex, but rather by catching HSV-1 from a parent or other people they come is close contact with as a child.
you're actually thinking of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) when you mention AIDS becoming untransmittable, but that's still a very good thing! the care available for people with HIV has come incredibly far since AIDS first became known and claimed so many lives, and today it's more than possible for people infected with HIV to live long, healthy lives by taking the proper medication to manage their viral load.
with management, people with HIV will not develop AIDS (which happens when the immune system is sufficiently depleted by HIV) and by consistently taking their medication people with HIV can become undetectable (the viral load in their body is too small to be detected or measured in tests), at which point they are unable to transmit the virus to other people.
HPV (human paillomavirus) comes in many different strains, most of which are absolutely harmless and go away on their own after a couple of months or years of freeloading in your body. I cannot emphasize this enough: HPV is so common that virtually everyone who has sex has, will have, or has had it in their lives, and the vast, VAST majority of those people will never be troubled by it literally at all.
the trouble comes from a few strains of HPV that can cause genital warts, and a few others that can cause cancers in the throat, anus, cervix, vulva, vagina, and penis. while HPV can't be treated, you can reduce your risk of developing cancer by getting the HPV vaccine if you haven't already and, if you have a cervix, getting regular Pap smears to catch early warning signs of cancerous developments.
hepatitis B is a viral infection that targets the liver. in rare cases it can cause chronic health problems that can be very dangerous, but I have to emphasize that's not common. in most adults who get hep B, there will be no symptoms and it will resolve itself in a matter of weeks. the infection is riskiest in children, but at least in America most people have received vaccines against hepatitis B as babies since the 90s.
in conclusion: get your shots, take your medicine, use protection, get tested, and talk to your doctor, but know that if there's one thing humans are good at it's figuring out how to manage STIs. we've been doing it for a long time - most sexually transmitted infections and parasites have been with us since before we we became modern humans - so we're really good at it!

HELP A MOTHER OF 2 WITH HEPATITIS HIT 15K
€11,187/€15,000 SHORT TERM GOAL
alaa is a mother of 2. her daughter maria has viral hepatitis and her son hamza is suffering from skin infections. alaa herself has viral hepatitis as well. her campaign has been stagnating very badly and they are very far from their 100k goal. they NEED money for food, medicine, and eventually evacuation out of gaza. the inflation rate in gaza is very high, and medicine is highly inaccessible due to the genocide.
alaa has been verified by both @/ibtisams and the butterfly effect project (#307)

Alt text: a graphic to promote a gofundme campaign for a family in Gaza. Text in the display box says, “Go follow: @wafs-posts / Link to Gofundme campaign below!!” There is a screenshot of the linked Gofundme campaign, which is titled, “Please save Waffaa and her children from Gaza,” and “€23,896 raised of €50,000 goal, 1.3K donations”. The campaign’s banner image shows photos of a young girl and a newborn baby, along with a destroyed home. The The graphic is in the colors of the Palestinian flag, with red text on a green background, and a design showing a map of Palestine and the “Israeli” occupied territory. Text says, in all caps, “Urgent, Gofundme campaign”. End alt text.
I’ve talked about Wafaa and her campaign many times, but I must continue talking about her because her suffering continues. And so does her kindness. Wafaa has been struggling to raise funds to evacuate her family of fifteen people, including four children and a newborn. She was evacuated before the closing of the Rafah crossing so that she could receive medical treatment, but soon after, the crossing was closed, leaving her terrified for her family who had not been able to evacuate with her. She is beside herself with grief and fear. Her campaign has been vetted and you can find it on this spreadsheet compiled by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi, number 171!
Wafaa is a mother and a grandmother, and her heart is breaking for the newborn baby who will have to struggle for survival in a war zone, and for her young granddaughter who, like so many children in Gaza, has suffered from viral hepatitis infections due to the occupation’s attacks on the health and sanitation systems in Gaza. In recent days, Wafaa has received news of the deaths of her sister and her young niece, and she is desperate to prevent the rest of her family from being martyred.
Wafaa also lost her original blog when it was unjustly banned by tumblr staff, like so many other Palestinian users on this platform. Please, in addition to donating to her campaign today, follow Wafaa’s account and share her posts so that anyone who followed her at @hebsnhel will now be able to find her at @wafs-posts!
Thank you all as always for your kindness, please donate what you can to Wafaa today here:

Help Dina and her children survive through war 🍉🕊️
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Screenshot from Dina's (@dina179) GoFundMe page, titled "Help Dina and her children survive through war". The header picture shows a compilation of three photos of Dina's children. From left to right: Omar, Farah and Noor. The campaign is organized by Simran K, on behalf of Emily Seward, and it has raised $9,034CAD from its $20,000 goal by 414 donations. /End ID]
---
This campaign has been vetted by fairuzfan and El-Shab-Hussein and Nabulsi's "Vetted Gaza Evacuation Fundraiser" list (#245)
Dina has messaged me asking me to share her campaign. Please read what she has shared.
Dina, Noor, Omar and Farah's story
Dina's a mother of three: the oldest, Noor, who's 7-years old; her second, Omar, who's 5-years old; and her youngest whom she gave birth under bombing recently, Farah.
Tumblr media
[Image ID: Collage of three pictures of Dina's children. From left to right: Noor smiling at the camera; Dina holding Farah in the air as the sun comes down on the beach; Omar looking to the right. /end ID]
On the night of October 28th, their neighborhood in Gaza was completely bombed. It was subjected to violent severe shelling, shattering glass all over the place and spreading suffocating gunpowder in their house. Omar was wounded by the shattered glass caused by the intense shelling.
Since then, they've been continually displaced; goods became scarce and expensive. Her children suffered from epidemics and skin diseases caused by the pollution in the camp. Noor was infected with viral hepatitis as a result of the shared bathrooms. Omar recently got struck by blisters all over his body. There is no hospital or treatment available due to the situation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[Image ID: Close-up photos of Omar's face, near his mouth, showing his skin covered in blisters. /End ID]
Dina's wish is to create and ensure a better, safer future for her children, where they can live their childhoods gleefully.
Leaving Gaza is the only way they can achieve this.
As always, I invite you to read hew story in her own words and follow her blog for update @dina179. It's the least we could do.
However, there's been a continuous problems, and that is that her posts have barely gotten any traction, only receiving small donations here and there.

Image 1: 90 notes
Image 2: 2462 notes
Image 3: 99 notes
Image 4: 200 notes. /end ID]
This puts at constant vulnerable and delicate position. Like any other children, they deserve to live in peace, happy and free.
I urge to PLEASE share and donate to Dina's post to ensure a better future for Noor, Farah, Omar, her husband and her. They need to escape

Alaa's Fundraiser achieved the short term goal of €10,000!!
She has increased the goal to a new milestone of €15,000. Currently they're at €10,867, 72% of the way there.
I'll keep this brief, Alaa has two kids, Maria and Hamza, Maria contracted viral hepatitis and Hamza is suffering from skin infections. Alaa herself also contracted viral hepatitis a while ago. They have lost everything in this genocide and currently she and her husband and her kids live in tents. They need money for medicines, for food and eventually for evacuation out of Gaza when the border opens.
Please follow, @alaakh99 for updates and donate if you can. The fundraiser was verified by @/ibtisams as well as @/90-ghost and is #307 on Butterfly Project.
As of now they are very far from their €100,000 goal and the fundraiser keeps stalling. Let's get it to €15,000 by Sunday, if everyone donates a little bit more that is achievable.
If you want more incentive, you can participate in the chance to win 4 free aquarium day passes + free annual membership in this raffle by @thedailydescent.
Tagging for reach, please let me know if you'd like to be removed thank you!! :

Re: super variable trajectories for quitting nicotine - The prodrome of viral hepatitis sometimes manifests as a sudden aversion to smoking! HepA is the classic example, but it can also be seen in HepB, C, and E. (Maybe HepD too? You need a concurrent HepB infection to get that and idk if you can really distinguish the two.)
One of my friends was a long-term smoker who got hepatitis and abruptly became grossed out by cigs. Even after she was treated/cured, she didn't go back to smoking—it wasn't repulsing to her anymore, just not as appealing or comforting. I'm assuming there are also people who stop smoking with acute hepatitis and take it up again as symptoms clear.
Lots of weird, interesting connections between addiction and microbiology!
wow what da fuck. i know i have antibodies for one of them i got screened recently

GMO: 700,000 people become infected as accumulated waste exacerbates health crisis
Friday 29-March-2024
Tumblr media
The Government Media Office (GMO) in the Gaza Strip revealed that 700,000 people have become infected with infectious diseases, including 8,000 cases of viral hepatitis, as a result of overcrowding in shelter centers amid fragile conditions, and the lack of food, water, and required health care.
The Gaza Municipality warned on Friday of the spread of dangerous diseases caused by rodents and harmful insects that have spread as a result of the accumulation of large quantities of solid waste in the city’s streets.
The municipality explained, in a statement, that the accumulation of waste was due to the depletion of fuel and preventing municipal crews from reaching the main landfill east of the city, in addition to destroying municipal machinery by Israeli occupation forces.
The municipality estimated the accumulation at 90,000 tons of solid waste and destroyed municipal machinery. The leakage of sewage into the city’s streets has led to the spread of diseases, pollution of the underground reservoir, and the spread of rats, harmful insects, and unpleasant odors in the city.”
The Israeli occupation forces, supported by the United States and Europe, continue to commit the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip, for the 175th day in a row, by launching air strikes, artillery shelling, and fire belts, committing bloody massacres against civilians, and carrying out horrific crimes in the areas of incursion, amid a situation a catastrophic humanitarian crisis resulting from the siege and the displacement of more than 90 percent of the population.
