Walk In Darkness Pt 1

"Oof!" Iris grunts as she falls to the ground heavily. She lays on the cold concrete for a few seconds, catching her breath. Her warm cheek turns cold from the earthy material.

Only then does she open her eyes and turn her head. She pulls her hands closer and lifts herself to her knees. Iris looks around at her new and suddenly unfamiliar room.

The room that surrounds her is dark, dank, and grey. The whole room, while not that large, is intricate, yet simple. The room is all concrete, pillars line an empty pool, mosaic layers the floors, wooden shelves line the walls, all are empty.

"What?" Iris stands, immediately aware of her attire. She adorns a thin, black, ankle length gown. Black and gold lace give the dress dimension. Her shoes are simple and weak, merely cloth. She realizes that this is new, likely not what she was wearing just now. But what was she wearing just before? Nothing comes to mind. Quite literally nothing. She can't remember anything suddenly.

"How did I get here?" Iris whispers to herself. Iris turns around and looks for where she had just come from. Nothing. Just a wall. No opening. No window, door, or hell not even a portal. Just a blank wall. Not even intricacies like the other walls.

"Not creepy... or disheartening," she turns to face the majority of the room. "Not at all."

She looks for anything that looks useful, helpful. A lever, a door, a window at best.

There is a door, it seems. It's on the other side of the pool of nothing.
