ꕤ an ideal dove day consists of cuddles, cuddles, and more cuddles. she’s entirely clear about what she expects from her lovers when they finally have a minute to breathe without mission report deadlines or alien invasions. wanda and natasha don’t have any arguments, content to give love however it wants to be received.

ꕤ they wake dove up with kisses all over her face, lounge in bed until they can’t ignore their grumbling bellies any longer, and even then they stay cuddled up close until wanda chooses to be the responsible one and drags them downstairs and into the kitchen for a homemade breakfast of belgian waffles and eggs. dove sits on the counter dipping her finger into the powdered sugar when she thinks wanda won’t notice, and natasha sneaks her mouthfuls of whipped cream when she’s sure that wanda is looking right at them, smirking teasingly at her younger girlfriend who just rolls her eyes affectionately and holds back her scolding because she can’t deny how cute it is to watch her little dove wriggle around in excitement thinking she’s pulled something over on the all-knowing witch.

ꕤ they eat in the living room, which is a treat in and of itself because wanda is strict about keeping mealtime confined to the kitchen, but today is all about doing what dove wants, so they cuddle up under fluffy blankets and watch whatever movie seems most interesting. dove falls asleep everytime without fail, but she is adamant that it isn’t her fault, how is she means to stay away when her head is in natasha’s lap, her hair being twirled and braided, and her legs are thrown across wanda being tickled and rubbed and massaged. it’s clearly not her fault at all, and wanda and natasha are happy to take the blame, because that was their plan all along, not that their innocent little dove was aware.

ꕤ dove wakes up in the same position she fell asleep in, content to know that she hadn’t been left at any point during her nap, and depending on who’s closer, she sinks into their lap, chest to chest and face to face, smiling with a sleepy daze in her eyes.

ꕤ they stay like that for hours, making light conversation, cracking jokes, fighting off tickles when she’s particularly cheeky, until they get up to make lunch, which is always grilled cheese.

ꕤ natasha cuts dove’s sandwich diagonally, much to wanda’s displeasure because she believes in cutting it straight down the middle, and every time she makes a comment about it, it results in dove and nat rolling their beautiful eyes and calling her weird with teasing smiles. they eat in the kitchen, talking about life and upcoming events, throwing out ideas about how they’re going to spend the rest of the day, just reconnecting and making sure they’re all on the same page.

ꕤ after lunch one particular day, dove decided she wanted to go on a walk. the neighborhood they lived in was relatively quiet, and their neighbors were respectful enough to turn a blind eye when all three of them decided to venture out. they were just normal people doing normal things when they had the chance to be out together, so wanda and natasha agreed, although wanda was adamant that even if it was a dove day, she needed to wear some kind of jacket. dove huffed and stomped toward the closet, mumbling about stupid wind and jackets, much to the amusement of her girlfriends. they knew that she would freeze before she willingly wore a coat, but a sick dove wasn’t something they wanted to see, so wanda didn’t pay much attention to the mini tantrum that was more amusing than anything else.

ꕤ they wonder around for hours, getting lost down deadend streets, stopping at a local florist and picking up a bouquet of daffodils and daisies, taking advantage of every hour of sunlight they had left of the day, not knowing when they’d have this extent freedom again. when the cold became unbearable, and lips were becoming blue, they decided to go back home.

ꕤ wanda put the flowers in a vase while natasha made hot chocolate to warm them up. dove watched them fondly, content with their adventure and just having them both home for the entire day. it didn’t happen as often as she would’ve liked, but she would never blame them for that. she understood their commitments, but that didn’t stop her from wanting more of this.

ꕤ after hot chocolate was made, dinner was eaten, and pajamas were thrown onto warm bodies, they carried out the same routine as they did that morning, watching movies, cuddling on the couch, laughing and joking and just enjoying each others company until eyes were dry and limbs were heavy. so, they climbed the stairs toward their shared bedroom, they went through night routines, and then fell into bed in the same order they’d always kept. dove fell asleep first, then wanda, and natasha watches them both breathe until eventually she lets herself drive off too, already anticipating the next chance they’d have to do this.

Yes! I’m so excited for you guys to use it!! I tested it out on myself and it works so fast… i literally used it while taking a nap yesterday and i immediately fell asleep (which usually takes me a while) and then i ended up in an LD. I haven’t really been lucid dreaming recently so it was really exciting!

And yes i’ve shifted to all kinds of movies, tv shows, books, etc. So far i’ve shifted to the MCU, The Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead (don’t shift here unless you’re detailed in what you script/want trust 😭), Harry Potter, a K-Pop DR, a Fame Dr, a Youtuber DR, and like so many random ones it’s crazy 💀 but yea i shift once a week but sometimes i do it every night! My favorite one to visit that i visit the most often is the MCU it’s so cool and so fun and I mostly just chill in the compound with wanda, peter, pietro, and miles :)

I've never done this headcanon thing before and I'm slightly delirious from lack of sleep, so here's just a few things that came to mind right away:

Wanda noticed Reader was making more and more hours at the company, putting in overtime every day. So, she started working late herself, to keep an eye on Reader and make sure she was doing alright. 

Now Reader is on leave, she spends much more time away from work, delegating way more than she ever has, just to spend more time with Reader.

She loves to spoil Reader, and likes to surprise her with little, random things. A book she’s been wanting to read, ordering dinner from that new place she’s been wanting to try, a bouquet of flowers she once mentioned she thinks are pretty. 

She constantly encourages her friends and Reader to lean on her, offering a shoulder to cry on and support when they need it. But she turns her own pain inwards and doesn’t like to share it with anyone, because she feels like she has to be the one to take care of others, not the other way around. 

She has a group-chat with her core friend group (Pepper, Agatha and Maria), and she texts them all the time, freaking out over little things Reader does. Like when Reader accidentally fell asleep in her bed, or the first time they cuddled together. 

‘’Oh my god, she sat on my lap to cuddle as we watched TV, I’m losing my mind.’’

Cue Agatha: ‘’Jesus Christ, just fuck already.’’

Nat pretends she's over all the valentines day dramatics but then she's the one with the biggest gesture for Dove. Wanda and Nat are both secretly competing with each other on who can make the best valentines day. Meanwhile Dove is just enjoying everything and being so grateful

˚⋆｡°౨ৎ that being said, after the night in the kitchen when this competition really formed, wanda’s subtle gifts and gestures increased tenfold. she made you’re favorite breakfast, she allowed you to have as much sugar as you wanted even when it meant ruining your entire schedule, she brought you for walks around the park, and gently massages your scalp in a candlelight bath after everything that came before. natasha was less obvious in her methods, or so she claimed to be. every morning there was a flower waiting for you in the kitchen — one that would be added to the continuously growing bouquet in your bedroom. she left boxes of chocolates in the pantry with your name scripted across the top, when you left for school one morning, there was a new water bottle sitting in the side pocket (one that you had not-so-secretly been eyeing for months. ౨ৎ °｡⋆˚

˚⋆｡°౨ৎ the two women thought their competition was well hidden. they thought that you were none the wiser to their late night squabbling and theatrical displays of affection, but when the true holiday finally rolled around, and you stumbled into the kitchen to find them both at the stove wearing displeased frowns despite the obvious affection in their eyes, you finally broke the news. “you know i think you’re both romantic, right? if you spend the entire day fighting over who can swoon me best i’m leaving you to sleep alone and taking maria up on her offer.” ౨ৎ °｡⋆˚

˚⋆｡°౨ৎ you didn’t take maria up on her offer, you’d never dream of spending a night away from them, but it did calm their bickering, and gave you a comfortable silence to eat your home cooked breakfast in. you giggled into your palm a few hours later when you caught the pout on natasha’s lips, “natty, how many times do i have to tell that i love you and wands equally. no amount of candles and stale drugstore chocolates could ever make me love either one of you more. if i loved you anymore then i do right now, i think i’d die of a heart attack.” ౨ৎ °｡⋆˚

Resources

When I write a note to a parent or in response to some of the asks I’ve received, I will sometimes share a few links of resources or info. I’m sharing these for anyone to access or to share. These are not organized in any sort of order, but I’ll give a brief description of each one. 

1)  The Ten Tips for Parents on mormonandgay are good. And since it’s from a church-sponsored site, members will accept this without much criticism.

2)  Listen Learn & Love is a website by Richard Ostler. He's a former bishop who has made loving LGBT Mormons his ministry. The site has links to many useful resources. In his podcast, Richard speaks to many queer people (some who are still in the LDS church and some who have moved on) and lets them tell their story. I think the podcast is very useful for queer members to hear people who went through, or are currently going through, things that they do. And for non-queer people, I think they’ll be moved by hearing the experiences & thoughts of queer people in their own words.

3)  I think the Family Acceptance Project’s pamphlet for LDS families is excellent. Basically it says to accept & love your kid.

4)  PFLAG has resources for families of LGBT individuals. They focus on supporting those in need, education & advocating to create a better world for LGBTQ+ people, friends, family & neighbors (and I’ve been really impressed with their Provo, UT office). PFLAG has chapters in many nations. 

5)  This is a TedTalk that speaks to reasons why Nature creates homosexuals and includes some of the character traits of gay people compared to the general population.

6)  When I come across church members who think that homosexuality is a choice, I refer them to this document put together by Dr. Bill Bradshaw. He is a BYU researcher/professor and a former mission president. He summarizes the research showing the LGBTQ orientations are biologic, not a choice or caused by parenting or cultural influences.

7)  This is long, but is the best write up I’ve seen about the LDS church’s history on homosexuality while explaining what this is like for gay Mormons. Bryce Cook put this together and it was peer-reviewed and published. It does a good job in showing that change has happened, and we can expect more change to come.

8)    Taylor Petrey is a professor who in this presentation gives me many things to think about regarding gays & lesbians and Mormonism. He speaks about a post-heterosexual Mormon theology and points out how heterosexuality is not present in many LDS creation stories. He speaks like an academic, but is so thought provoking

9)  This is a simple to follow explanation of why temple sealings for gay couples makes sense. Useful for when members say that temple sealings for gay couples can NEVER be.

10)  Josh & Lolly Weed are the most famous example of a gay man & straight woman in a marriage. They have been very open about their experiences. This is the blog post where they announced their divorce. It is very illuminating and does a great job of explaining why this sort of marriage really doesn’t work for most gay people.

11)  This is dense, but it’s a listing of all sorts of queer people and relationships in Church history (we’ve been a part of the Church since the beginning). I think it’s fascinating to read about these people, the way they were treated and influence they had.

12)  This is a video about coming out, but from a very different point of view. It’s about coming out as straight, but I found it to be sweet and relatable.

13)  This is a humorous video about coming out as gay by Wanda Sykes

14)  Family Fellowship Support Group on Facebook is meant to help  Mormon moms & dads learn how to parent their gay child. It’s a closed group so only members of the group can see what’s posted.

15)  Transactive LDS is a private group for transgender individuals or family members.

16)  Carol Lynn Pearson is a Mormon who was married to a gay man. She’s the OG of LDS allies to the queer community. You may be familiar with some of their work like My Turn On Earth. She has written several books that are, in one way or another, about being gay in the church (Goodbye, I Love You; No More Goodbyes; and The Hero's Journey of Gay and Lesbian Mormons). Most famously she wrote the Primary song “I’ll Walk with You” and she was imagining singing this to gay children as she wrote it.

17)  Tom Christofferson, brother of the apostle D Todd Christofferson, is a gay man who came back to church and wrote a book titled That We May Be One: A Gay Mormon's Perspective on Faith and Family. He emphasizes the inclusion he received from his family, and from his ward when he wanted to come back. Here's an article summarizing parts of his story

18)  Affirmation is the oldest organization for LDS/post-LDS LGBTQ+ individuals, family and allies. They have multiple Facebook pages for people in different spots of their faith journey/in what way you’re queer/if you’re an ally or parent of a queer child. 

19)   Dragon Dads is a closed Facebook group for Dads to gain support, process & support their children who are LGBTQ+ in healthy ways

20)   Mama Dragons is for moms of LGBTQIA kids, the purpose is to support healthy lives

21)   The Human Rights Campaign has an online booklet for LGBT Mormons

22)   Gay Mormon History is a site that lets people explore the history of LGBT issues in the LDS Church

23)   Elder Ballard said “We need to listen to and understand what our LGBT brothers and sisters are feeling and experiencing. Certainly, we must do better than we have done in the past so that all members feel they have a spiritual home where their brothers and sisters love them and where they have a place to worship and serve the Lord.” (BYU Question and Answer devotional from November 2017)

24)   In the best BYU devotional ever given on the subject, BYU professor Eric Huntsmans “Hard Sayings and Safe Spaces”

25)  Many LGBT members find themselves at the church schools. USGA & USGA-Rexburg are organizations where they can meet other queer people. 

26)  Members of the LGBTQ community experience are at higher risk of committing suicide than the general public. The Trevor Project helps people ages 13-24. The National Suicide Prevention Hotline is available to anyone in the US. The Trans Lifeline is available in the US & Canada and it works to end transgender suicide and improve overall mental health of transgender people.

27)  Our Asexual & Aromantic church members have a closed Facebook group for them & their allies. 

28)  Many LGBT people step away from the LDS church. The Thoughtful Transitions Support Group on Facebook is meant to a safe space for people to heal and grow

29)  If you or a loved one needs therapy, there’s several options. If they are a university student in the US, they likely can access services free-of-charge at their school. Another option is to check your insurance and find the mental health professionals in your area that are covered. Try contacting the psychology dept at a local university for leads on a good therapist, or perhaps they offer some counseling services to non-students. Some members of the LDS church feel more comfortable going to see a therapist who is also LDS or who is familiar with the church. The Mormon Mental Health Association has a listing of such therapists arranged by US state & Calgary, Canada.

Wanda's goal in life is just to make Reader happy, and to give her all this love she's overflowing with. She 100% keeps a list in her phone about all the things Reader loves, so she always has something to fall back on, and she never forgets what Reader likes. She stops by a café on her way back from work? Good thing she has Reader's order written down. Late-night online shopping? Well, guess who found Reader's tbr list and is about to splurge on some gifts.

After a while she just remembers a lot of the things, and constantly surprises Reader.
