I underestimated my capacity for love until I loved

Favorite quote of all time?
A quote I’ve been really loving is by Mary Oliver from her poem “Why I Wake Early.”
Good morning, good morning, good morning. Watch, now, how I start the day in happiness, in kindness.
I read the poem to my students and every morning I would lead them saying “Good morning, good morning, good morning,” and then they would respond, “Watch, now, how I start the day in happiness, in kindness.” Now that they’re more used to it, I pick a student to lead instead of me being the one to lead it every day. The kids really love it!! We’re doing online learning now that school is closed, and I’m sad I can’t hear their cute voices saying this every morning.
Inbox me a random question; nothing off-limits!

Absolutely gorgeous blog!! What is your favorite quote? ♥️
Thank you for the ask, and for the sweet compliment! My favorite quote is not a quote necessarily, but rather a poem that has stuck with me for a long time- Love is Not All, by Edna St. Vincent Millay. It goes as follows-
Love is not all: it is not meat nor drink
Nor slumber nor a roof against the rain;
Nor yet a floating spar to men that sink
And rise and sink and rise and sink again;
Love can not fill the thickened lung with breath,
Nor clean the blood, nor set the fractured bone;
Yet many a man is making friends with death
Even as I speak, for lack of love alone.
It well may be that in a difficult hour,
Pinned down by pain and moaning for release,
Or nagged by want past resolution's power,
I might be driven to sell your love for peace,
Or trade the memory of this night for food.
It well may be. I do not think I would.

I will leave the world a better place than I’ve found it and no amount of cynicism can stop me.

I was a child and she was a child, in that kingdom by the sea. And we loved with a love that was more than love, I and my Annabel Lee.
