The "average" western woman once had smallpox scars and multiple missing teeth. We live in a fucked up environment that fucks up our bodies. Just because it's not right to be a dick to someone over smallpox scars, missing teeth, hapsburg chins, obesity, rickets legs, goiters, or whatever other deformity they develop from living with whatever the toxic wastedump du jour is - that don't mean we have to pretend that our current environment/lifestyle deformity is good.

It's just our current lifestyle/environment problem, and we'll figure it out eventually - just like we did all the others.

It will never not baffle me how hard society tries to insist that fatness is an abnormality. The average western woman wears plus size clothing. One of the smallest garments on the scale is called a medium. Most people with anorexia are in the overweight bmi category, yet somehow that's known as "atypical anorexia". Fatness is often labeled the cause of a number of diseases, but there are literally no diseases exclusive to fat bodies. Looking at movies and television, you'd think the world was 98% thin people. It's not.

My point isn't that if it was pretty rare to be fat, fatphobia would be okay. Of course not.

My point is that we're surrounded by all these artificial indicators that fatness is unnatural and uncommon and it's just not true?? Humans are not always thin and we've never all been thin and we're not all meant to be thin. Fat humans are a normal type of human. Fatness is a feature, not a bug.

then the issue also lies with the general public bc it dont know when something to do with kpop needs to be critiqued or when to stop critiquing it. like idols who underperform are called lazy but idols who overperform receive a hate train and its like they cant win whatsoever. san, ahyeon, jennie and even lia are just some of many idols who seem to get bashed for either doing or not doing something right and its so mf frustrating bc every week there some new shitty drama that u have to pretend to care abt. or like kpop makes dramas when there aint none to be made so u have to keep reacting to it. overall it seems like a trainwreck waiting to happen. i still like it from afar but i try not to get sucked into the nonsense of negativity because its so easy to spread negativity when there is so much of it online everywhere on every platform and idols are on every other platform. and the way their "fans" take shit too personally like starbucks collabs so what? its a drink they cant expect idols to be so perfectly educated when they are artists not some ivy league student who has to act like a woke know it all or be so politically correct 24/7.

it seems that people dont enjoy what kpop is doing anymore orrrrr its not giving them enough substance for them to truly enjoy these groups w/o bashing them left right and centre. maybe if idols were treated like humans instead of puppets by the public then they could have more idfk freedom without feeling like they have to be so utterly perfect and they cant step one toe out of line bc of the way ppl react. its crazy bruh. and to think fandoms were meant to be fun and engaging but now they feel like a toxic wastedump and idk if kpops even worth fully engaging with it bc u know how the ppl going to not behave towards idols.

Looking back at the whole Starbucks thing, I feel like people have been focusing wayyyyy more on the drinks rather than the actual issue. Apparently Starbucks doesn't even fund the IDF, so. I just feel like people have been using it to attack idols (I admit I'm no stranger to this). Go to Somi or Yunjin's social media and you'll still see people commenting "Starbucks queen"???? I remember seeing someone call out Yunjin just to go get a Starbucks drink later.

most annoying thing about the forced hetero endgame pairings trope is that no matter how horribly developed,boring,bland, nonsensical and sometimes even problematic a canon pairing is, there ALWAYS would be a group of people who self insert so hard on those ships and base their entire personality on shipping them, to the point they WILL defend those ships with their last breath no matter how stupid their arguments are and WILL harass anyone who makes even some harmless jokes at the expense of those pairings, resulting in the fandom becoming more and more annoying for everyone involved

Tidal Tempest boggles my mind in terms of worldbuilding, especially the past.

The very beginning of the level in the Present is this set of volcanoes. We never see them again in any timezone. What does this mean? How can there be submerged ruins right next to a row of volcanoes? And why is this the only time period in which we can see them?

Also, okay, these are ruins of an ancient place, got it. But in the Past...

... it's still ruins. In a cave, much less complex, looking prehistoric, but it's still not the original place. What is the history of Tidal Tempest? How ancient is this place?

As a sidenote, the Bad Future used to scare me as a kid:

It's just a nasty place. The purple water implies that Eggman turned this important archeological site into some kind of toxic wastedump: talk about the lack of respect. The brown and green wall used to seriously unnerve me for some reason. And the American music was for me the most depressing piece you could have composed.

I just love how much back and forth there is between twitter and tumblr and other social media sites on which place is the most toxic one.

Like, I think back in 2015-2017, Tumblr was the platform to avoid at all costs and not in the "haha this is a hellsite" kind of joke manner. It was like as hellish and trash as twitter is today with people causing trouble for everyone. This was the place people considered cancellation and hypocrites were coming from even before cancellation was given a name. And everyone went to twitter as a sort of safe haven after the nsfw ban and when this place was still going feral over every piece of drama.

Now? People are saying that tumblr is a safe haven and cool while twitter (And tiktok to some extent) is a toxic wastedump. Tumblr is getting popular again because no one wants to deal with what the hell twitter has going on.

We're just repeating history. We're fools running around circles while thinking that the king is still alive.
