I have unexpectedly gained what may potentially be full responsibility for 6-8 hours tomorrow for two 10-year-olds. I was planning to go shopping............

POSSIBLY. FOR PART OF THE DAY#NOT HAPPY ABOUT THIS#im glad she gets to have a friend come over during break#im just pissed its MY responsibility now#im so fucking tired of getting assigned childcare responsibilities#im trying to fucking recover from the past three weeks#THIS IS NOT HELPING#I CAN'T EVEN WATCH A PODCAST.#AND JURY'S OUT ON WATCHING EITHER OF THE TWO SHOWS IM TRYING TO FINISH#i bought a couple respectable coloring books. if we need to i can break those out and put on some music#and i think i can get away with a movie#i have digital copies of some proper kids movies#and we have dvds of some others#the other girl is into spooky stuff so at least i dont have to worry about her getting freaked out by much#im just pissed off that this screws up my day tomorrow and my evening tonight

uh oh gang I miss musicals
#aarrggh it's not like I haven't tried/liked any since lockdown started. I enjoyed watt lihn and rtc.#and it's only sort of that I don't know what's up in the current/recent theater scene#I could simply look up what's on and what cast albums have come out lately and pick something#and there have been plenty of cast changes and new productions for stuff I already like!#honestly I think the thing stopping me from getting back into musicals is that I've had a few computer changes since 2020#and lost most of my bootleg collection so I don't really have ways to get new recordings of things I want#and I gather that most of that has moved onto private discord servers in the last two years anyway#and I just neither have the social skills to easily get into those circles nor the money to buy videos direct from masters#like. my friend and I were foiled THRICE from seeing the 50th anniversary jcs tour and they've said several times#that the best present I could get for them would be a video of that production so we could finally watch it together#but I don't even know where to go anymore to check if a video of that tour exists and I doubt I have anything worth trading for it anyway#most nothing problem in the world ik ik. but like. ;-; wanny see me shows...#sorry for being a bit maudlin about musical theater nonsense I'm not expecting any 'there theres'#I just can't really complain about this stuff irl without going through four layers of context first#marina marvels at life

Trauma bonding over that mcr concert is my favorite way of socializing
#jesus christ#'WORST experience of my life'#I wanted to ask him about that concert for ages now but always was too shy because i didn't know him well#i just knew he went to the same concert as we did and i knew he didn't even have front of stage tickets#so i was curious just HOW bad it was for the people in the back#boy i would have cried if we had been further back#it was sad in the front i can't imagine it being worse even though i know it was SO much worse#'i couldn't even watch my videos because i was so sad'#one of the saddest things anyone's ever said to me#anyway#if i wasn't so socially incompetent i think we could be friends because he's cool#but I'm too introverted to make any attempt to connect more#but we share the same music taste and we were also crying over how we couldn't see fob in autumn because we'll be in korea#so much fun#void screams#people were amused by our mcr outrage#understandable#BUT IF THEY HAD BEEN THERE THEY'D UNDERSTAND IT'S ABSOLUTELY JUSTIFIED!!

Stupidly I decided to watch this video just now.
Today would have been my Grandma's birthday, but we lost her last fall and then my Nanna in the winter.
I did not think that a commentary video on Rugrats would make me uncontrollably sob. But I blocked out how sad the Mother's Day episode was. And combining it with Grandma's birthday...
I've spent the last 10 minutes or so doubled over crying.
#i kind of knew some sort of emotional outbreak was incoming soon but i didn't know when#that time ended up being now#because the start of this week was emotional since a show i was working on ended#and for some reason that show ending just felt way more emotional than other shows i've done ending#so many people were crying. but i didn't cry.#we had had a performance on mother's day and our director had lost her mother recently#so she was upset that whole day and so was so much of the cast and crew. i still didn't cry.#while holding a crying friend at the closing party i told another friend that the emotions will hit me later.#i didn't know when but i knew it was going to. at some time.#both my grandmothers had passed while i was working on different productions with this group#and both times i came to the theater hours later and it had been emotionally healing to be there.#this was the first production i worked on after losing both of them so it felt a little weird.#(plus the color purple trailer came out and that book and musical makes me SOB and i refuse to watch the trailer)#(also add in Tina Turner's passing and her birth name being the same as my grandma's)#and basically all of those feelings and having these other theatre experiences mixed up with my losses#combining with it being my grandma's birthday AND i happened to be crocheting when i watched this video#which is a defining skill that Grandma taught me... i was SUCH a mess. i just could not stop crying.#i had mentioned backstage that i can't rewatch moana because i can't handle the storyline anymore.#and just now while in the middle of this emotional explosion i thought of moana and cried HARDER.#this is a good commentary but GOD i did not expect it to trigger all of this.#when i say doubled over i mean literally doubled over and shaking.#anyway. i think i feel better now. i think i needed this crying session.#in sims your sim can have an 'emotional bomb' quirk. they freak out uncontrollably for 30 seconds then they're fine.#i've never really hated that quirk because that is literally me.
