Requests (5/23/2021)

Hi lovelies! I’ve been getting so many requests & I’m working hard to get all of them in the queue. Thanks for sending them my way! I’m writing to let you know that the queue is now full until the end of June. I was able to get every requests from my May 8th post in there except for a few. Requests from May 8th for captions featuring Katy Perry, Jenna Fischer, Marisol Nichols, Addison Rae, Ariana Grande, Erin Kellyman, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Jhene Aiko, & Kirstin Maldonado will be posted in early July.

But there have been an absolute ton of requests since then too, yay! So I’m listing all the requests that I haven’t gotten to below. If you made a request but don’t see it below that might be for a few reasons. 1) I’ve written it already and it will be posted in June. 2) It’s one of the requests I posted on May 8th so I won’t talk about it here. 3) I considered it a demand not a request (for example, I received two that said “Anything with,” that wasn’t really a request just telling me to do it. Sorry if this bothers some of you but it is an issue with me so make sure you word your requests AS requests). Either way, thanks for the love, lovelies! :D

Hi I just had an idea for a game you could do. It could be where someone has to say as a boy what they’re like physically in stages. So first stage is hair color for example, second stage could be height, third stage could be body type, etc. An example would be if I was a black hair, short height, thick body type, I would match up with someone like Nicki Minaj. Just an idea which you could extend on. Hopefully it makes sense. I appreciate you!

I actually have a game like this mapped out called “Build a Sissy” where you choose age, hair color, and bra size, but it would take a LOT of work to make so I haven’t written it yet. Maybe some day though. :)

I DO know who they are! I’ve been thinking about doing a White Chicks caps because there’s a lot of cute looks in that movie (especially for Busy Phillips who I just love) so sure thing!

So it is not an issue with CGI “enhanced” celebrities but for Cats it is because I do not have a Furry fetish and I get uncomfortable thinking about writing caps for it. But I write caps with “manips” all the time (photoshopped images of celebs) so I’m not ruling out CGI enhanced celebs all together.

I have never seen a single episode of WWE, I do not watch wrestling, and yet somehow every time someone requests a wrestler I know who she is. Don’t ask me how because I do not know. Anyways, yeah I can do a Rhea Ripley one. :)

You don’t have to be sorry! Like I said, in the future I’d ask that folks limit requests to no more than 3 celebs at a time but you didn’t know that. I’d never said that before. I typed up every celebrity and they’re going to be sprinkled in during June. Hope you like them! :)

I'm the one that asked for the Stephanie Beatriz caption from a whole back, and I absolutely loved how it turned out. Each time you roll out a new caption is like a small thrill to me and I read them right as they're released.

Now this wouldn't be an ask if I wasn't asking something, right? Well, next month sees the release of the "In the Heights" movie, and there's an opportunity there to do a series of captions using stephanie Beatriz from that same movie.

Awww, this is such a sweet message. Thank you! And YAAASSSSS! Ever since the first trailer for In the Heights dropped I was like, “I must write a caption with her in this!” So you can imagine how fun it’s been waiting this entire time. *eye twitches*. We’ll have to wait until the movie comes out for me to be sure I can find a good image but this IS a caption I want to write. :)

How about instead of removing the captions with Demi in them ,the images of Demi were just replaced with another celeb and if Demi is mentioned by name in the caption then that could be edited to mention a different celeb. I respect Demi's decision I do but lets not lose some well made captions. Also if you could please make a caption where Amy Adams feminises a fan and raises them as her daughter and Kristen Stewart makes you her submissive wife that would be appreciated. I'm a fan of them.

So about the Demi Lovato captions: I understand your feelings but I’m still going to delete the original captions. Because of how my captions are made I can’t just go back in & swap out an image or edit the text, I have to remake it from the ground up. I am hoping to do that with some (maybe all) of the Demi Lovato captions & re-publish them, but I’m still going to delete the originals.

I can do the Kristen Stewart one for sure and I’ll TRY to do the Amy Adams one I just am not 100% sure I can find a pic for that but we’ll see. :)

I will do one with Amanda Crew but I can’t commit to doing it before the hiatus.

About the hiatus: I don’t know when it’s going to be. I want to TRY to make it to at least July 18th because I have a specific game in mind I want to post for 5 years of Celebrity TG Captions games, but after that I have no idea. I’ve been writing caps for a longer stretch of time since normal since I’ve switched to a part-time blog so I might burn out at any second but for right now I’ve still got some juice.

the order (season two) thoughts.

so chotoranii asked me for my thoughts on the order season two. of which there are many. posting them here rather than in a reply so tumblr doesn’t fuck up the ‘keep reading’ break.

SO MANY SPOILERS AHEAD, OBVIOUSLY.

OK FOLKS, LET’S DO THIS. SORRY ABOUT THE WORD COUNT.

the good, the bad, and the incomprehensible.

ok SO. overall i thought this season was so much better than season one, especially in terms of production and acting.

i should start by saying, the biggest twist of this season? ME LIKING JACK AS A BLOND. i’ve been dragging that hair for months and i end up digging it? i’m so mad at myself.

ANYWAY the first three episodes? flawless! beautiful! amazing! they honestly took everything i could have listed as wanting and put it onscreen. jack trying out for cheer squad and having to stay on cheer squad to keep up the act? them finding each other almost immediately? the jokes about orgies? jack taking the knights seriously and holding on to his anger over the memory wipe? lilith and nicole? nicole in general? RANDALL AND HAMISH FAKE DATING (however briefly, seriously, i will be writing fic where they have to keep that up because i am betrayed that it was never brought up again and if you think i didn’t throw my laptop across the bed so i could run around screaming you’d be wrong)? A MAGIC HEIST?

honestly, all perfect.

............then the season started to go downhill. don’t get me wrong, there were still some excellent parts, but they were hindered by two things:

the plot jumping about too much to be comprehensible.

the fact that we the viewers are supposed to believe that randall carpio and hamish duke would not tear the world apart for lilith bathory immediately.

the first is forgivable; the first season’s plot was a simple enough device that meant it dragged a little at times. this season they seemed to not want to fall into that trap again, but in doing so threw something so big in that they needed far too much exposition because they didn’t have enough time to show it (a trait they fell into in a lot of ways, we’ll get back to that). SHOW, DON’T TELL, FOLKS. that being said, i really liked salvadore as a character, and the idea of a group of people striving to make magic accessible to all was a cool moral quandary plot.

the second is unforgivable to me, and led to the majority of my issues with the season. i understand the knights becoming members of the order (cool concept), i understand them struggling with conflicting loyalties because of it, but what i don’t understand is the fact that randall spent the majority of the season saying “let’s get lilith back!” only to back down at the first push back, and hamish was the push back. because......the order had other problems. IN WHAT UNIVERSE DO THE KNIGHTS OF SAINT CHRISTOPHER NOT PUT EACH OTHER FIRST AND SAY FUCK EVERYONE ELSE?

(jack i understand, if only because we saw so much of it last season. his loyalties are kinda flaky. i do understand his loyalty to vera; not only did she play a huge part in taking down edward last season, but the mind link thing and learning all her pain would have stuck with him. he loves a cause, that boy. also hey ho! jack was so much more likeable this season! we love to see it.)

also i just really missed lilith.

(thank fuck for nicole never giving up.)

the amount of callbacks to season one were fantastic. they didn’t just move on and leave it be, they referenced basically everyone, and seeing professor clarke and kyle again was a nice touch just to tie things together. there also being discussions about jack’s pete related trauma was great and necessary.

ok, so alyssa. i take back my post about how great it would be for her to be the villain. this was so much better. her trauma in the wake of both season one and then accidentally killing someone leading to her feeling so conflicted and lost and alone? her magic malfunctioning when it’s all she feels she has? we’ve always known she was ambitious, but to see her face straight on the idea that she may be left completely powerless and no one really listening or trying to help her except a hive mind that’s also hurting her? o u c h.

we saw this season that the real problem with the order is its motto of ‘hurry up and wait’. ‘we’ll save lilith.....just do all these other things first!’ ‘we’ll get alyssa’s magic back......there’s just more important things right now!’ it’s all so easy to see how that could frustrate someone so much they can’t take it anymore.

i’m so pleased i loved alyssa so much this season. i desperately wanted to and i’m glad they gave me that. i just felt so much for her. she just wanted to not feel so alone and so helpless and so scared that she was going to pick the wrong side again. it was beautiful.

this also meant alyssa/jack was better this season. having got the insta-love out the way last season (ugh), this season they were able to actually look at how that would play out if you took ramifications into consideration. all the problems i had with them last season were vocalised onscreen, and this new unstable thing left in its place was far more appealing to watch. they were messy and bad for each other and they knew it, but that didn’t stop them loving each other.

also: “if we get out of this, can i take you to the mall? because i really hate your jean jacket. and your hair.”

in regards to the other relationships:

lilith and nicole were adorable for the limited amount of time we got them onscreen. the slow crush to nervous dating was beautiful, and seeing lilith struggle with what getting her memories back meant in regards to that was great. we all know i thought the lilith/randall of last season was rushed, so having lilith torn over hurting one of the most important people in her life and following these feelings for someone new was lovely. IF WE GET A SEASON THREE I BETTER GET SO MUCH MORE OF THEM.

here’s the thing, putting aside lilith/nicole for a moment: the order can’t write good relationships (*with one major caveat).

hear me out.

in season one it was insta-love. jack and alyssa meet and suddenly defending alyssa is the only thing that matters to jack. it....wasn’t good. randall and lilith were thrown together with very little build up and we were supposed to roll with it.

this season we had both hamish/vera and randall/gabrielle. i would like to say that theoretically i am here for both of these. but.

hamish/vera occurred off screen. oh, sure, we had a couple scenes of them staring at each other over drinks, but that was all we got until late into the season. we were told that hamish and vera were a thing by randall when he was winding hamish up. we didn’t see it for ourselves. again, this show’s habit of telling not showing is a problem.

hamish and vera could make sense. two leaders of opposing factions having sort of hate, begrudging respect sex? i see it. from there, you can show us how it would become something more.

the show doesn’t.

we’re told they’re together. we’re told hamish is forsaking his knightly duties in favour of vera. we’re told by hamish that he’s drunk the order koolaid,

and all of this is supposed to culminate in us believing that hamish duke - tundra, leader of the knights of saint christopher, the most cunning of the wolves - would push aside everything else because he just believes that much in vera stone? to the point that he would all but abandon lilith and degrade his relationship with randall to randall being the annoying sidekick?

i woke up at two a.m. to write a note on my phone that says: ‘the greatest tragedy of the order season two is hamish duke’s character assassination.’ and i stand by that.

besides lilith’s absence for almost the whole season, it’s the thing i’m most mad about. i love hamish so much and to one-dimensionalise him in favour of a ship is...............shoddy work honestly.

so like i said. HAMISH/VERA COULD HAVE BEEN GOOD, BUT FOR FUCKSAKE SHOW, YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY DEVELOP THIS SHIT.

randall/gabrielle was better developed. by which i mean we actually saw them interacting on screen. we got to see them begrudgingly working together, we saw him learn more about her, we heard them talk about her need to fit in somewhere. when they made the joke about being bffs? good stuff. would i like them to slowburn this shit? yes please. have them become best friends and then have those feelings be something else. i would really like that. the show just needs to.......slow down. not immediately see a single character and need to throw them into a relationship with the nearest person.

gabrielle was great this season. by which i mean, she was gabrielle, and we love some consistent characterisation. i think it’s so true to everything we know about her that she’d want to inject herself into the knights’ world; she wants to be part of the in-crowd, and right now that’s them. she’s also supremely jealous of alyssa because, to her, it seemed like alyssa had the best of both worlds. so, yes, her wanting to be around the knights and that developing into her begrudgingly liking them makes a lot of sense to me.

so, my caveat.

the relationship the order knows how to write? the knights. hamish, randall, lilith, and jack. that dynamic saved season one from being a total mess. that dynamic thrived in the early episodes of this season. IT’S JUST THAT GOOD. i said once that if the order just became greek (2007) but with werewolves i’d be happy, and the first three episodes really gave me that.

THE KNIGHTS ARE EACH OTHER’S SOULMATES, ASK ME HOW.

is this an excuse for me to complain that they gave us a hint of hamish/randall and then cruelly snatched it away and i’m still mad about it? YOU BETCHA.

is this also my way of saying there wasn’t nearly enough jack/randall this season? YOU BETCHA.

removing lilith from the equation (I’M STILL SO MAD) and then having hamish pull away from randall because..........who the fuck knows, was just a recipe for disaster.

clearly lilith is the glue that holds these idiots together.

so, vera. katherine isabelle still just steals every scene she’s in. i love her. i love vera’s characterisation. i love that she’s shamelessly ambitious but also wants the order to succeed and the world not to end. i love that she can be cold and cruel and still have such soft spots for both jack and alyssa. i love that she can be vulnerable and angry about it. i just........think vera’s pretty fucking great, tbh.

i still don’t understand why the knights - after their infiltration revenge plans go tits up - decide to just go full on order. like??????? hamish and jack barely even questioning anything???? randall must have spent most of this season feeling so alone.

that being said, when jack said to nicole and randall that he knew what they needed to get lilith back and the conversation pretty much went:

jack: you’re okay betraying the order?

nicole: for lilith, anything.

randall: i’d literally betray the order for a cookie, haven’t you been listening?

we love to see it.

OH, HEY GUYS, REMEMBER WHEN IAN ZIERING AND JASON PRIESTLEY WERE MEMBERS OF THE ORDER AND JASON PRIESTLEY BECAME GRAND MAGUS FOR A HOT SECOND???? that was written solely for me. i do not know who this show thinks its audience is, but it understands me to my core.

so...............i have zero clue where the show intends to go from here. i just need alyssa to be ok and i hope - like his friend randall - jack is willing to kill whoever the hell he has to to make that happen. (we stan randall straight up murdering someone to get lilith back and making sure nicole remains innocent and safe tbh.)

SO TL;DR: the early episodes gave me life. the show declined from there, but i still enjoyed it a lot. the order is at its best when the knights are a team, i loved alyssa’s story this season, and i have no clue what to expect from next season (if we get one). werewolf alyssa? villain jack, perhaps? we’ll see!

--- “Amazing grace.” Candles flickered throughout the bunker. It wasn’t much, but Patton had managed to get a bouquet of roses to place next to framed photographs of Remy. It was hard to find ones where he was smiling. “How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.” As they sang softly, Logan intertwined his hand with Roman’s. “I once was lost, but now am found.” Elliot stood at the edge of the room, still clad in their usual greys and browns they remained the only person not in fully black attire. Virgil’s eyes drifted towards the other three; Roman’s free hand reached to link with Patton’s. “Was blind but now I see.”

The funeral was almost pathetic. A room of five people, one of whom had never truly known the deceased, when Remy should have had so much more. Patton had split off from Roman to kneel by the makeshift shrine and say a silent prayer; Virgil hadn’t seen the point. There was no sun or life in the bunker. There were no gods to look after them in there.

Virgil had found himself at Emile’s door with a cold turkey sandwich standing frozen as he listened to the choked sobs coming from the other side. He cleared his throat and knocked. “Em?” he asked, the collar of Logan’s polo seeming to choke him. “Can I come in?”

The sobs quieted but there was no answer. Virgil wondered if Emile blamed him for Remy’s death. Remy had died protecting him after all. “I’m not hungry,” Picani said weakly.

Virgil took a deep breath. That’s bullshit, Em. He debated opening the door. Hungry or not you still need to eat. He cracked the door open just enough to put the plate inside and closed the door. I blame myself too.

He walked away from the door.

Patton had busied himself with chores and work; Roman had kept himself moving and walking around. Neither of them could deal with the loss. Even Logan had been distant and keeping to himself. Yet Elliot wandered, simply trying to get a feel for where they were, and how long they could survive.

When Logan found Patton, he had been sitting on the couch distracting himself with a pair of knitting needles and yarn. A pile of finished washcloths sat next to him, and he seemed to be working on a scarf. “Patton, do you mind if I join you?”

Patton patted the seat next to him and placed his needles and yarn on the table. “Only if you’re okay with cuddles,” he said with a soft smile. Logan sat down, offering open arms to Patton but finding himself surprised when Patton pulled him into something between a side hug and being a little spoon. “Can I play with your hair?” Patton asked.

Logan was hesitant. His hair had always been flat and kind of dry, not something that seemed pleasant to play with. But he knew what Patton really meant, please keep me busy. “Of course, Patton,” he said softly, leaning in to the touch and melting softly into Patton’s side.

“I know he was important to you,” Patton said, carding his fingers through Logan’s hair.

“He taught me everything I know.”

There was a moment of silence. “Me too.” The air seemed full of unspoken words and half forgotten memories. “I guess he was like our dad, ya know.”

“I understand the sentiment, but I have to disagree. Remy is one hundred percent what you and Roman would call a mom friend.”

Patton laughed, nearly pushing Logan off of the couch as he doubled over in pain. “Excuse you,” he laughed. “Remy is our dad and Emile is our mom.”

“I see my error,” Logan teased. “And where does that leave the rest of us?”

“Hmmm,” Patton pretended to think to himself. “That makes Virgil your son.”

Logan scrunched up his face in overdramatic disgust. “No way. Virgil is not my son.”

“Why not?” Patton teased with a laugh. “Don’t you care about him?”

“Well of course I... care... about him.” Logan’s face turned pink as he spoke. “Just in... a not very... fatherly way.”

“Oh?” Patton tilted his head in confusion before opening his jaw and letting his expression drop into a more soothing appearance. “Oh. I see.” He smiled teasingly, running his fingers through Logan’s hair. “Does our little Logan have a crush?”

“Patton, don’t be so immature. I have bigger problems to deal with than attempting to categorize my feelings towards... Virgil. I have bigger problems than Virgil.”

“You know I’m just teasing, Logan,” Patton said, pressing a kiss to Logan’s scalp as he pulled him closer. “But if you did want to confess to him, I know he cares about you, Lo. We all do. And I know... that any of us would feel like the luckiest man alive to have you care for m- him. Care for him.”

Logan stayed silent but wrapped his arms tightly around Patton’s waist as the guilt settled in both of their chests. Logan thought about Virgil, and he thought about Patton as well as what those feelings meant, but his mind found a way to drift back to Roman. To the kiss. The human mind was surely a dangerous thing.

“Patton, I... well, Roman and I, we-“

“Shhh, you don’t need to say anything,” Patton said. “I know you two have fought and argued, there’s probably nothing you could tell me that Roman hasn’t already, anyway.”

“But we-“ Logan sighed, nuzzling into Patton’s chest. He mumbled quietly under his breath, “I love you.”

Virgil couldn’t help but almost feel nostalgic when he saw Elliot. They were confused and lost, probably missing friends or family. He had lost track of how long it had been, but he knew they were just like he was when he first arrived.

He kept staring at Picani’s door. Emile had been the first person to warm up to him, perhaps he could help Elliot adjust as well. “Has he come out yet?” Virgil asked.

“Uh, he has a pride flag in his offi- you- you meant out of his room, right,” Elliot mumbled. “I haven’t seen him all day.”

“Damnit,” Virgil mumbled, dropping his shoulders with an exhale.

“Virgil? Can I ask you a question?”

Virgil glanced at the door one last time before turning his attention to Elliot. Picani could wait. “What’s up?”

“How did you... adjust?” they asked. “How did you leave it all behind?”

“I ask myself that question everyday,” Virgil said. “But I never had many attachments, it wasn’t hard to leave them behind.” He ran his fingers through his hair with a sigh, and leaned against the doorframe. “My only real regret is never getting to tell my mom goodbye. I was arrested at school, I couldn’t have known that that was the last time I’d ever see her- or- or the last lunch she’d ever make me.”

“Virgil, I- I’m so sorry,” Elliot said.

“It’s fine,” Virgil insisted. “I trust that she knows what I would have said.”

“I... my friend, Kai,” Elliot said. “He protected me when no one else would. I don’t know what happened to him.”

Virgil put a hand on Elliot’s shoulder. “We’ll keep an eye out for any news on him.”

“Thanks.”

“Come on, I’ll show you around,” Virgil said. “It’s easy to get lost around here.”

As they walked away from the door, Picani slowly stood, his knees weak and hands shaking. Nicole. Of course he wanted to see Nicole. He picked up his pen and notepad and began to write...

They had nearly fallen asleep when Roman had walked in. “Good, you’re both here,” he said, sitting at the far end of the couch. Logan and Patton adjusted to properly see him. “I need to talk to you.”

“Are you okay?” Logan asked quietly.

“I’m alive,” he said, “and that’s all I can really ask for.” He took a deep breath. “I’ve recently realized that I’m polyamorous-“

“Aww, Roman, thank you for telling u-“

“I’m not done, Patton.” He interlocked his own fingers, feeling his heart race as he swallowed his pride. “And I... I have feelings for you. Both of you. Giant, mushy, romantic feelings! Okay?! I- I dream of playing with your hair and kissing your cheeks and your mouths and- yeah, as awkward as this is to admit- yeah I’ve even thought about having sex with you once or twice, or a couple dozen times!”

“Roman,” they both murmured.

“I- I’m sorry if this is awkward or- or uncomfortable I just...,” Roman let his head hang as he curled in on himself and hid his face in his palms. “I couldn’t die knowing this was left unsaid.”

“Roman, come here,” Logan said with open arms. Roman crawled into his lap, feeling both men’s arms around him. “If this is the proper time for confessions then I, too, must say that I’ve had feelings of that sort towards you for quite some time. You and Patton.”

They both looked to Patton who had tears in his eyes. “I... I never thought this would be... real, you know?”

“I know,” Roman whispered and Logan held him closer.

They all sat in the serenity, the eye of the storm of emotions, and basked in the fragile love and unspoken words. For one fractal of a moment, everything seemed like it just may actually be alright.

Virgil knocked on the doorframe, he held a pad of paper in his hands and he looked messy and disheveled. When he locked eyes with the other three he straightened his posture and tried to appear calm- yet Logan still noticed his white knuckles and the quick rise and fall of his chest. “Am I interrupting something?” Virgil asked.

“As a matter of fact-“

“You aren’t interrupting anything, Virgil.”

Virgil nervously handed over the notepad to Logan. “Picani, he- he left this note. He ran off and I- I think it’s my fault.”

“4-7-8, Virgil,” Logan said calmly. “Remember what I taught you.”

Patton looked over the note, scanning every line and detail. “This isn’t your fault. He just needs some space, okay?”

“He- He probably blames me,” Virgil said. “It’s all my fault that he’s dead. I should’ve taken that bullet, not him.”

“No. Stop that,” Logan commanded.

“We’re in a dangerous line of work,” Patton explained. “Remy knew the risks when he joined the organization. He knew the risks when he took in me and Roman. He knew the risks when he took in Logan.”

“And he knew that we need you,” Roman said. “Picani just needs some time alone, and you need some time with people who love you.”

“But, I-“

“No ‘but’, Virgil. Lay with us. Relax. You’ve had a long few days.”

Virgil thought for a moment but slowly sat down, maneuvering himself into Roman’s lap as the others touched him softly and played with his hair. He relaxed into Roman, who sang a soft tune in his ear. He fell asleep with Patton’s hand on his back, Logan’s arm around his waist, and his forehead pressed against Roman’s cheek.

“I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind but now I see.”

When Love Walks In - Chpt 11

Chpt 11 - Auston is moved out of ICU & Talks to Dr Quinn Privately

After congratulating Auston on his great progress, Dr Wright excuses herself for the day.

Dr Quinn informs Auston and his parents that Nicole is looking after Auston’s transfer to a private room and he should expect to be moving shortly. She tells them that she will drop by Auston’s room before she leaves for the day to see how he is settling into his “new digs” as she calls them. She expects to drop by sometime around 6 pm.

Auston is happy to hear he is going to see Dr Quinn again today. He hopes he is settled into his room with enough time to spare to convince his parents, in an unsuspicious way, to leave him alone in his room. He wants to be able to chat again privately with Dr Quinn before she goes home for the night.

Nurse Nicole makes sure Auston’s transfer to the 7th floor goes smoothly. He has a private room with a view of University Avenue; but from Auston’s bed, all he can see are the windows of the other buildings across the street.

Ema and Brian talk to Nicole about the possibility of unapproved visitors sneaking in to see Auston. Nicole tells them that she will speak with security on their behalf and try to get a guard to standby at the Nurse’s Station. Brian thanks her and tells her that if the hospital can’t provide security for Auston, then he would like to hire someone privately, he just needs to know what the hospital wants.

Later, Hospital Security indicates that they will only be able to staff a guard over the next 48 hours for Auston, but if the family want someone after that period, then they needed to hire a security guard approved by the Chief of Staff. Brian agrees to get that arranged as soon as possible and in the meantime takes an opportunity to meet with the Hospital Security Team to inform them of the restrictions he wants in place on visits to see Auston. For the next 48 hour period, and until further notice, only staff and immediate family are to be allowed in Auston’s room.

Auston has had a constant eye on the clock, so by 530 pm; he’s getting concerned that the ‘time-is-a-tickin’, and he needs to get his parents moving before Dr Quinn arrives to check on him.

He writes on his whiteboard, “you guys gonna get dinner and sleep at my place tonight? Go see the girls?”

“Yeah, if you’re okay, we were planning on taking the girls out for dinner tonight and staying at your place. What do you think?” Brian asks.

“Yeah. Good idea. I’m good now”, Auston writes.

“Okay, but we’ll miss Dr Q. Do you think we need to be here for when she comes this evening?” Ema asks.

“No. Dr Q’s just coming tonight to see that I’m settled. I can handle it.” Auston assures his parents.

“Well, if you’re sure?” Ema confirms.

Auston nods and then writes, “Yup. Glad to be out of ICU but pretty tired.”

“Yeah, we’re happy you’re out as well, and we’re going to celebrate with the girls tonight and discuss plans to get them back to their lives in Scottsdale.”

“I wish I could join you to celebrate. Good idea to have one of you go back home along with the girls. I’ve been lucky to have you all here but no need for you two to both stay, now that I am on the road to recovery”, Auston encourages.

Brian reminds Auston, “Okay, we’ll think on that. Contact us if you need us tonight. Anytime. Okay? Phone us. Text us. Your phone is charged and on your side table. I know you don’t want to go on it right now but use it to keep in touch with me, your mom and sisters. Okay? Goodnight, son. Sleep well.”

Auston nods as Ema kisses him on the head, goodbye.

Auston writes, “say hi to Alex and Bre for me”, with a heart after it.

“Will do. But like I said, you can text them”, Brian reminds Auston with a pat on his shoulder. Brian smiles and waves as he walks out of the room with Ema.

It is now 6:15 pm and Auston is getting excited about Dr Quinn’s visit. He just starts thinking about what he wants to say to her when she walks in his room.

Auston can’t help but notice how professional, chill and pretty Dr Quinn looks. It’s the end of the day, she has no visible makeup and must be tired, but she still looks radiant and so relaxed. She is smiling, and instead of holding her usual chart, she has a brown paper bag in her hand as she walks towards him to stand on his left-hand side of the bed.

Placing the bag on Auston’s sliding table, she comments, “Well look at you in your new pad, Auston! Where are your parents?” She asks, scoping the room.

Auston greets her with a big smile and small hand wave. He grabs his board and pen and writes, “Dinner out with A & B. Sleeping at Condo. I encouraged it.”

“Oh, good! I’m glad to hear it. You’re a good son, Auston.” Dr Quinn praises.

Auston smiles and writes “no biggie.”

“So do you have friends coming to visit you tonight? A room-warming?” She jokes.

“Am I allowed visitors now?” He asks.

“But honestly, I’m kinda enjoying this bubble I’ve been in lately. No desire to assoc with world when can’t breathe, talk or walk. Don’t have energy to deal with stuff right now.” He adds.

Dr Quinn takes a longer than normal look at Auston to see if he looks depressed. It is hard to tell.

“Ohhh, yes, sorry, Auston. I forgot to mention earlier today that you can have visitors now that you are out of ICU. Also, you can use your cell phone now whenever you would like since concussion symptoms are gone. So you don’t want to get in touch with friends?”

Auston writes, “No, I don’t want to face my old life till I’m my old self.”

Dr Quinn is concerned. “I see, Auston, that’s to be expected. You have a lot to get your head around; your accident, your limitations right now, your team, your fans, questions about your future, therapy, focusing on rest and healing and I’m sure just thinking of the volume of messages you have received since this all went down must be daunting. No doubt, you’re overwhelmed. Are you feeling overwhelmed, Auston?”

“Well, now I am! Thanks, Doctor Debbie Downer!”, he writes, joking back with a big smirk.

“Ha! Yeah, that was a downer. Wasn’t it? I’m so sorry, Auston. Be sure to stop me if I decide to pursue Suicide Prevention Counselling, will ya?”

“Ha! Yup!” Auston writes, still enjoying the humour of it.

Auston thinks to himself but doesn’t share, And compounding things even further is trying to deal with my feelings for you.

“I’m really sorry, Auston. Sometimes I get lost in my thoughts, thinking about my patients’ challenges. I wish I could just take them all away. I can help with the medical end of it but not the other stuff. It gets a bit sad and overwhelming just thinking about what you all are going through and all the hurdles you need to jump, not just health-wise but everyday living stuff. Life can be hard enough without adding health complications. Saying the challenges out loud gets them out of my head, but that’s not fair to you, so I’m very sorry.”

Can you please forgive me, Auston?” she asks, looking him in the eye with sincerity.

“Of course!” Auston writes “No worries. I was just having some fun with you. I never really saw it from your perspective. You opened my eyes to how extra tough your job must be, I mean, emotionally speaking.”

“Oh, Auston, please don’t misunderstand me. What I go through is nothing compared to what you or any of my patients go through. I just wanted to explain why I said what I said.”

“I understand.” Auston writes and then adds a very silly smiley face emoji drawing to lighten the mood. He turns the board to face Dr Quinn.

When she sees the crazy smiley face drawing, she bursts out laughing. “Ha! Auston that’s hilarious! Can u do others?!” She quickly covers her mouth, looking around to see if she disturbed anyone by being so loud.

Auston loves her reaction. He erases his board, and with a smirk, he looks up at Dr Quinn. Then with a straight-face, he proceeds to draw and show Dr Quinn, one hilarious smiley face emoji drawing after another hilarious smiley face drawing until Dr Quinn can hardly breathe; trying so hard to stifle her laughter and not to disturb anyone.

When she sees his last drawing which is a smiley face doctor emoji, that he labels ‘Dr Q’ and which has a headband light and a stethoscope that is listening to the head of another smiley face emoji that he labels ‘Auston’, she waves her hand in surrender, trying to catch her breath.

“Auston! Oh my goodness, Auston! That is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen!” She tells him; still trying to quietly, compose herself.

“How? When? How did you get so good at…? Are you an artist or something?” She manages to spit out, absolutely floored by his drawing talent and sense of humour.

Auston writes, “Long, long, boring, boring, road trips…Have I mentioned they were long and boring?”

“Ha! So amazing! You’ve got some serious skills, Mr Matthews! If this isn’t your main talent, I can’t even begin to imagine what you can do on skates. Thank you for that Auston! I seriously have not laughed that hard in a long time. Wow! That was something special.” She says as she giggles, fixing her hair and dabbing tears from her eyes with a tissue.

Auston can’t help but beam with joy at having made Dr Quinn so deliriously happy. If he were honest, he’d have to say that was the most heartwarming moment of his life.

Auston writes, “It’s the least I can do. Glad you enjoyed them. Glad all that wasted time wasn’t wasted after all. Your response was worth every boring, doodling minute.”

Dr Quinn takes a breath and starts, “Auhhhh…Okay, so back to what we were discussing. I suppose what I was trying to say before you pulled your Picasso out on me, was that I was … Oh, my goodness! That came out very wrong.”

Auston stares at Dr Quinn with a very funny, surprised and curious face that suggests she’s just shocked the hell out of him by saying something very inappropriately funny. He knows she just slipped up but thinks it’s hilarious. He wants to tease her for it and listen to her try to explain her way out of it.

“Oh Auston, you know what I was getting at right? Picasso, as in your crazy drawings were like the artist; Picasso-ish, you know?” She pleads with him.

When he doesn’t stop making his shocked face, she continues, “You know what I was trying to say, right?”

He shakes his head no, smiles and laughs inside.

“I didn’t mean to make it rude. I’m so embarrassed Auston. Stop smiling at me like that! Stop making faces! Auston! You’re enjoying watching me squirm, aren’t you? Oh, you drive me crazy!”

You have no idea how crazy you drive me, sweetheart, is what Auston wants to tell her.

Auston could not believe how much fun he was having just lying in a hospital bed. He’s unable to speak, barely able to breathe, unable to eat, unable to go to the washroom on his own, unable to do much of anything, not sure of his future, but feels like if he could have this woman in his life, every day, he would want for absolutely nothing. He would have everything.

“Anyways, Auston, you silly weirdo, I was listing all of your possible concerns because I get why you would want to stay in your bubble. I’m so sorry you’re in this situation. But, what I can do, since I probably drove you to jump off a ledge with my flair for motivational speaking, is offer you counselling.” She tells him but is interrupted by another weird face he is making at her; this one is supposed to be a crazy person.

“Stop it! Auston!” She scolds him as he smirks.

“If you want to talk to a counsellor, we have some great ones that I can arrange for you to see here in the hospital. They can come to you. I highly recommend therapy, especially in cases like yours, it can be very helpful. Like I was telling you, there is a lot for you to process. It’s good to have someone guide you.” She informs him.

Auston pretends to have fallen asleep because of her serious talk.

“Oh Come on! Auston!” She pleads. “I’m being serious. This is serious.” She gently scolds him.

Auston writes, “Thanks but no, I’m not ready for that yet. Besides, I don’t trust anybody knowing my shit; except maybe you.” Auston knows it might be revealing a bit too much to admit that last part, but he also figures she should expect her patients to trust her, so hopefully, no bells go off for her.

“Oh, thank you for trusting me with ‘your shit’, Auston!” Dr Quinn says sarcastically and feigning upset.

She continues with a giggle, “I wish I were qualified to be entrusted with ‘your shit’ Auston, but counselling is not my area of expertise as you witnessed earlier. There are far better people than me for that job.”

“I disagree”, He writes matter-of-factly. “Not needing a Psych right now, just a friend who cares”, He adds.

Dr Quinn feels their chat is getting awkward. If she’s honest, she cares and wants to be Auston’s friend, but because she is his doctor, she won’t mix those two worlds; doing so would only bring problems. So not wanting to hurt Auston or make things more awkward between them, she chooses to change the subject by delegating a job to him instead of pointing out the necessary line that she won’t cross.

“Well, one thing I can do is suggest that you ask your parents or sisters to look after sorting out your cell phone messages and Social Media. If they can help you by responding with just a message that they are overseeing your phone and social media accounts, for the time being, that might take some of the pressure off you. If they take that load, then you may feel less overwhelmed and maybe feel more like reaching out to a good friend who can lend a supportive ear. Or, since your family already have enough on their plate, I’m sure you could give that job to your agent’s people. Just a suggestion, cause like I said, and you witnessed, I am not qualified”, Dr Quinn adds with a laugh.

Auston realizes Dr Quinn has to draw a line to keep her role as his doctor separate from anything personal, but he really wishes she could be the one. If he could confide in her, then they could develop a closer relationship while he has the chance during his stay in the hospital. He accepts that he is just going to have to sneak in chats with her until he doesn’t need her as his doctor anymore.

Auston responds, “OK. Good idea. Thanks.”

Dr Quinn just remembers that she has something for Auston. “Oh yes, on a happier note, you mentioned the other day that you are from Arizona and I just so happened to be in the gift shop this evening, and this beauty caught my eye. I figured since you moved into your new digs here, you might like this to brighten your days and remind you of home. Also, you can choose to see it as an award of sorts for your most recent accomplishment of getting yourself breathing without the ventilator. I understand you’re pretty accustomed to getting trophies for your accomplishments so…” She says, teasing him.

Auston smirks and rolls his eyes for that last comment as Dr Quinn hands Auston the paper bag for him to open.

He’s curious and surprised. She’s excited to see his reaction. As he is about to put his hand inside the bag without looking, Dr Quinn gasps, “Oh no! Wait! Let me help you!” She tries to grab the bag from him and touches his hand. She is shocked by the electric-like current that passes between her and Auston as they touch momentarily.

Pulling the bag from his hands, she tries to ignore the spark.

“I’m so sorry Auston; I wasn’t thinking; there’s a cactus in the bag and if you put your hand in you’re going to get pricked.”

She rips the bag to expose the sharp green plant. “Here it is. It’s just a little something”, she says as she places it on his bed next to him, careful to avoid touching him again.

As Auston looks at the small plant with a tiny blue ribbon attached to one of its spikes, he tries to process the rush of thoughts and emotions.

He loves how she just made his stomach flip with her touch, and that he finally mastered keeping his heart rate under control with meditative-type breathing.

He rushes to sort through his thoughts: First, she thinks of me when she is away from me. Then, she wants to make me happy by getting me a gift. Then, she remembers personal things about me like where my home is and that I get awards. Then, there is electricity in our touch, which I can’t believe she didn’t feel. Then, she is concerned about hurting me. Even if she can’t admit to being my friend right now, she just showed me that we are friends; and that’s enough right now. He thinks.

Auston is tempted to call Dr Quinn out; that her actions mean more than she is willing to admit, by asking her if she gives all her patients a gift when they move rooms or accomplish something in recovery, but thinks better of it. He knows that keeping the status-quo to just doctor and patient will allow her to remain his doctor and grant him time to develop a relationship with her; that works for him.

Auston writes, “Thanks very much, Dr Q.”

“You’re very welcome, Auston. I hope you like it.” Dr Quinn responds.

“I do, very much”, he writes as he blushes and motions for her to put it on the window ledge across the room from him. He wants to be able to see it all the time.

“Well, it’s not much, but I am just excited for you and this big step forward and wanted to cheer up your new room. You’ve gone through a lot, and you still have a ways to go.” She tells him.

“You’re a very special person, Dr Q.” He writes on his board with a smile. He figures that’s safe. She’s his doctor, and she’s nice so there, he thinks. Sue me! He reasons with himself. He would give anything to say more, but he knows there’s too much at risk.

Dr Quinn quickly changes the subject. “I hope you will have some friends over soon. That would be good for you, Auston. Also, if you won’t see a counsellor, then please start talking to someone who can help you sort things out. Give it some serious thought on who you have in your network that will be good to talk to about what you’re going through. I’ll check back with you to make sure you do that, okay?” She pauses and then adds “Consider that your homework.”

“Oh, so you’re my doctor AND now my teacher?!” Auston writes cheekily.

“Well, I am actually qualified to teach, so I suppose I could be your teacher. So yes, I am your teacher, and that is your homework, Auston Matthews. I expect you to do it or I’ll take back your trophy”, Dr Quinn teases.

“Ahhh, Professor Q! You wouldn’t!” Auston writes in jest.

“Oh, yes, I would!” She teases back.

“Well, I sure wouldn’t want you to take your gift away, so I’ll be sure to do your damn assignment”, Auston adds.

“Good to hear, Auston. Cause I will. You know I will, don’t you?” She teases again.

Auston can’t help but blush at her dominance. “Yes, I know you will, Dr Q.” Auston writes, acting dejected to make her laugh.

“Okay, well I better leave you to get some sleep”, Dr Quinn announces.

Auston quickly writes, “What are you doing tonight? Hot date?” He teases playfully trying not to make her suspicious, but honestly wants to know.

“Ha! No! But you got me thinking the other day when we talked about me needing to crawl out from under my rock. Probably shouldn’t be sharing this with my patient but it’s because of you that I even contemplated this. There is a guy who has been asking me to go out with him for a long while, but I didn’t think I had the time to date with my busy schedule. However, you got me thinking that I really live a sad life of work, work, work. I should make an effort to have a life beyond work. Career-wise, things have been a little less intense lately, so I’m going to go on a date.”

Holy Shit, No! What the hell did I do?! Auston yells to himself.

He immediately tries to calm himself down to avoid setting off the heart rate monitor again.

What do I tell her? I want to tell her not to date him but can’t. What do I do? Oh, my God! He panics to himself.

He is scared that the monitor is going to go off and reveal his feelings. He needs her to get out of the room before it does. He’s trying to contain his thoughts and the emotions they are bringing on with his meditative breathing.

Hoping to do damage control, he calmly takes his marker and writes, “No, I understand why you have little social life. I am somewhat the same during hockey season. I’d be exactly the same if I weren’t on a team. So I get it. No shame in it. You are on a different level.”

“I have a team of sorts through my work, but I don’t think it’s the same kind of comradery you have on your team. You all travel together. We all work a variety of shifts. It gets kind of lonely to be honest”, Dr Quinn reveals.

Auston doesn’t want to hear that she is lonely or unhappy, but he needs for her to wait for him to get better. He sees no way of getting her to wait without confessing his feelings, but if he does, he for sure will lose her as his doctor.

“I see. Well, I wouldn’t want you to be lonely. But I also wouldn’t want you to get hurt either. Are you sure he’s a good guy?” Auston asks hoping she will reconsider out of fear that the guy might hurt her.

“He seems to be”, Dr Quinn answers.

“Who is it? A doctor?” He questions her, but it really doesn’t matter who it is because he is jealous of anyone who takes her attention away from him. But he wants to know who it is so he can find out more about him.

“Yeah. His name is Doctor Scott Peters. He’s a plastic surgeon. Works in his own practice and I send patients to him. I met him at a seminar and see him off and on when he comes to the hospital to do surgeries”, She explains.

“Good looking?” He wants to know what she classifies as attractive.

“I think so anyway”, She responds blushing; uncomfortable that he would ask this.

“Well, be careful. You deserve the best, so don’t settle. I also wouldn’t want to see you get hurt. You’re pretty important to me”, Auston writes. He figures that letting her know that she is important to him is safe since she is, after all, his doctor. But he also hopes she might take from his comments, the subtle message, that he is in the wings so she should just wait for him. He feels he really has nothing else he can say or do at this point without risking losing her as his doctor.

“Thanks for your concern, Auston. I will be careful. You have a great night’s sleep, and I’ll see you tomorrow okay?” She tells him.

“Yeah. Thanks for stopping by and for the cactus. I really love u. Ha! I mean, IT.” He can’t help himself. He feels desperate and jealous. He makes a subconscious mistake writing “u” but refuses to erase it. Instead, he thinks that if he adds the other parts, he can play innocent but leaves her free to take it any way she wants.

Auston hopes she gets the message because there’s nothing else he can do right now.

Dr Quinn leaves Auston’s room confused by their exchanges but refuses to focus on it as doing so might add issues to working with him.

Auston begins to wallow in his frustration. He is sickened by the thought of Dr Quinn going out with another guy. He is frustrated at the timing. He immediately turns to his nightstand to get his cell phone. He needs to see what this guy is all about.

Just as Auston sees a photo of Dr Peters and begins reading about him, his heart rate monitor goes off. He is relieved that Dr Quinn is out of his room, but then he sees her walk back in.

Oh, Fuck Me! He says to himself.

“What happened Auston? I just left you.” She looks at Auston perplexed as she heads over to check the machine.

Auston seems upset and is holding his cell phone. Dr Quinn surmises that Auston has been trying to do the “homework” assignment she gave him and it has distressed him.

Before Auston can try and make up a response, Dr Quinn answers for him, “Oh, your cell phone?”

Auston just nods figuring she bailed him out again by jumping to conclusions. She really has no clue how I feel about her, which is both good and bad, he thinks.

“Auston, I suggest you don’t look at your cell phone this evening unless to contact your family. Once your family has a chance to deal with your messages, you will feel better about using it. They are the last thing you need to look at right now. Okay?”

Auston nods in agreement.

“Or is it something else that is bugging you?” She asks.

Auston shakes his head no and writes, “I’m tired too.”

“Okay then, let me tuck you in, and you get some sleep right now. Hand me that cell phone please.”

He quickly closes his phone as she takes it and puts it in the drawer of the side table. He enjoys the attention of her caring for him, adjusting the cords attached to him, getting him comfortable and tucking the covers around him. She finishes with a touch of her hand on his arm as she says, “Sleep tight, Auston.” With that touch, the current of electricity that no one acknowledges returns. Auston wants to grab her arm and pull her to him.

Instead, he closes his eyes and sighs to himself as he relishes the chills she gives him. He is gone, gone, gone for her. He doesn’t want to watch her walk away, and out of his room, so instead he just keeps his eyes closed and imagines she has sat down in the room with him as he falls asleep. By doing this, he is able to keep thoughts of Dr Peters out of his mind and drift off into slumber.

regrets

i know i said i missed my single days. now i am living them again and it couldn’t be worse. i did everything right, yet that was not enough, but have i even been enough anyway?

and even if he won’t say it, he chose her. i am sarah, i am nicole. and you? you’re living the happily ever after i had planned for us. but i have to accept it. when i was ana, i wanted both of them to choose me. and i don’t hate her for wanting u choose her, i don’t hate u for choosing her either.

but you see, u were my home. and even though i know u aren’t anymore, you still feel like home. you moved out and i am still haunted by ur ghost. a ghost of my own creation.

we are drifting apart each day, we were meant to be and now we are not even friends. i do not regret though. every kiss, every lovemaking session, every hickey, every scratch, every meal, every movie and every song. i have no regrets. i met my soulmate. but, soulmates aren’t always lovers, sometimes soulmates are just soulmates.

i don’t know if we’ll ever meet again. but if we do, promise me that time, u will be over her. completely, totally and annoyingly. over. her.

Frigid Bitch 2019 Results

Frigid Bitch - back for year 6!

Continuing tradition as probably the biggest ladies/non-binary bike race in the universe with over 100 riders, this year’s Frigid Bitch expanded with first-time-ever-offered pre-registration and MORE PODIUMS. Held at Threadbare Cider in Spring Garden, at 10am on Saturday, February 16th, 2019, racers started flooding in to stock up on gear, check out the competition, and pick up their maps & manifests.

As always, there is a one hour window for racers to frantically plan their routes, forge alliances, and make friends. A few local ladies’ racing teams showed up in force, and some veteran Frigid Bitch ride-or-die gangs side-eyed up their matching kits and focused efficiency with determined fuck-it, let’s-do-this attitudes. New racers met riding partners on-site, and a handful of volunteers showed up to take in the crowd before heading out to their no-longer-secret positions.

A quarter to go-time, everyone was hustled outside to unlock their steeds and gear up for the start line.

THE CHECKPOINTS

Grandview Overlook Every year, for the out-of-towners, suburb queens, commuters who never stray from the beaten track - there’s always one checkpoint that everybody knows how to get to. Not that we’d make it easy! Pittsburgh’s famous overlook is a slag up Mt Washington, and with the main thru way closed, racers had to either bump it up via shattered sidewalks, or find away around. Volunteers were ready with a toast at the top!

Fineview Overlook In a city of hills and bridges you’re gonna have a lot of overlooks … Grandview’s much lesser known cousin on the Northside had racers figuring out how to find their way above the ballfield. Anyone who actually followed the map to this checkpoint found themselves climbing one of the toughest Dirty Dozen Hills….oh, did we do that? Whoops!

Herr’s Island Keep following the map in the other direction, and it’d take you down Rialto St (another Dirty Dozen Hill! Who drew this?!) and across the 30th St Bridge to Herr’s Island, haven of local crew teams and isolated Pgh elite. Everyone knows it’s there; most cyclists have zero reason to ever trek over. On the far end of the island, through some woods & down some steps to a gravel lot in a crumbling wall, volunteers were waiting with a camp fire to check off numbers of the racers who hiked-a-bike or threw down and hustled on foot.

5 Points Speaking of hike-a-biking, the furthest checkpoint from the start was tucked away in Pgh’s mountain biking mecca, Frick Park. There’s only one spot in the woods where 5 trails spike together in a star formations, colloquially known as…. FIVE POINTS!!! Entering the trail from Beechwood Blvd in Squirrel Hill, anyone who made it this far had to off-road their ride down dirt paths and over exposed roots. But hey, there was hot chocolate at the bottom!

Murray Hill Not far from 5 points, Murray Hill Ave gave everyone the opportunity to experience off- roading on a one of the most quintessential Pgh urban this-is-actually-still-a-road terrains (second only to massive potholes): brutally steep cobbles!

Iron Eden Metal Works Oh, but there were potholes. Snaking the back way up & down bombed-out Sassafras St, nestled in the shadows of the Bloomfield Bridge, lies a two-tiered & strange-looking structure. ~By night!~ a times-past underground venue in the woods, ~by day!~ a rustbelt relic: Iron Eden!

Bonus checkpoint feature: ~ * g l a m o u r s h o t s * ~

The Hot Metal Bridge It’s a classic. Need we say more?

The Boob Mausoleum Probably the most infamous tomb in the Allegheny Cemetery, the WHITE mausoleum features a bafflingly intense commitment to full-blown Egyptian theme&decor. Stationed just outside the crypt’s brass-cast pillar-flanked doors, 2 ~prominent~ sphinxes stand guard over the venerable (?) White family portal. Stationed just outside the sphinxes….Frigid Bitch BEACH PARTY!!

Mohawk St Finally, last in line but top of the list as far as checkpoint shenanigans go; bomb down Fifth Ave from Pitt campus and right before you hit the Birmingham Bridge, there’s a set of city steps that ascend into the woods of West Oakland. They spit out at Landslide Community Farms and a pink jersey barrier where volunteers waited with a camp fire* and a case of PBR. They’d set up a beer chute along the top of the stairs and stood in suspense while racers ran up the steps, not taking the bait. Finally, the vet bitch gang of Alex K, Katherine J and Frankie M threw their bikes over their shoulders, rushed the chute, grabbed a beer, cracked it with their teeth and chugged on the way up.

*if you missed the campfire, it’s because the fire dept showed up to put it out. See? Shenanigans!

The Frigid Bitch has always been a race to promote empowerment in the cycling community, to show that underrepresented groups of people can kick just as much ass as the status quo, and to support organizations that in turn provide for others in need. To that end, funds raised via registration fees and anonymous pledges have always been given to the Greater Pittsburgh Women’s Center & Shelter. Over the past year, another organization has provided immeasurable support for the founders of the Frigid Bitch in their hour of need. This year’s race raised $730 for the Women’s Shelter and $400 for the Women’s Law Project. It couldn’t be done without the support of our racers & our community.

ok panic concert highlights

(plus some personal adventures)

this was the portland show on the 12th k

so it was a fuckin hour and a half drive bc where i fuckin live now is far away from everything i hate it anyway that sucked & i ran my phone down to 80 percent during said drive which proved problematic

we get there (me & my lil sis) & our dad drops us off & we run up & im bitching about how weird the fucking venue is (it’s normal, it’s just not what i’m used to - in vegas the venues were typically in the casino/resorts so you lined up inside the halls & sat against the walls & tourist-watched, in this venue u stood outside in a line???? ughhh)

so we approach the line & something happens, i’m gonna make a separate post about it because holy shit

befriended two excitable gay kids, maybe 8th or 9th grade?? & i was like woah i was u once. now im old & jaded. eugh. then they bailed on me so.

we got into the arena & were on the wrong fucking side so we had to JOG all the way AROUND THE WHOLE FUCKINGN PLACE UGH

THEN WE GOT IN & SAT IN THE WRONG SEATS so the guy next to me (dad w a thick accent, maybe ukranian?? it wasn’t russian but it was close) politely informed me & i was like fuck well until they get here we’ll stay, but i had anxiety so during an arizona song i pretended to go to the bathroom & came back to look for our actual seat, someone took it so i pussied out & went back, had hella anxiety about it, then before hayley the ppl showed up so we had to move & i had to kick some preps out of their seat & they called my lil sister a bitch ;-;

arizona was cute, gotta check them out... singer kept getting emotional & wiping his eyes, it was sweet, and he was hella feeling himself dancing & stuff lmaoo. idk em but im proud of them.

one, i never was heavy into panic, but considering how obsessive i was into bandom a few years back, i still know a lot about early panic, livejournal shit, ryden bullshit, etc, so it was really weird being there with normies who were just like “he’s hot & sings good” when i was like “yall lucky fucks never heard of myrtle beach ” dsjfnjsdnfds

two, four years into panic & i never was attracted to brendon, but dude, EVERYONE fell in love with him at this show, myself included, & i was starin at this bitch ass motherfucker in a trance before i was like “wait ur a bastard STOP U ENDEARING DICKWAD” he was so fucking endearing it was ANNOYING cuz i’ve seen some of the shit he’s pulled damnit. srsly tho, so absolutely charming, wow.

three, and what stuck with me most; brendon loves what he does. a little bit of exhibitionism, i think; he likes ppl looking at & admiring him, he’s that type of person, a showman, but also, i think he just loves making music, people singing along to the music, etc. ive been to eight concerts now, and i don’t think i’ve seen someone who clearly loved being on stage so much. a lot of ppl act like it’s a chore to tour, but brendon clearly loves it, and it made me happy, especially as an aspiring musician.

four, the straighties drooling over him and the gays drooling over him was truly straight/gay solidarity

ok what else happened... brendon would throw in random ass high notes towards the ends of songs... my sister looked at me super alarmed when he first did it during dtmwagt lmfao... ppl would cheer & it was impressive, but kinda piercing & i was like “show off” lol

hallelujah was cool cuz there were, like, those catholic(?) church windows projected on the top part of the stage, it was pretty af, they rlly outdid themselves with the visuals

and mona lisa had like pipes & industrial stuff?? idk it looked dope, and it contrasted rlly cool it was super pretty

nine in the afternoon,,,, the only pretty odd song... i dont even like pretty odd but it was like,,, damn. & he had the piano, total live in denver vibes ;-; but he wasnt dripping sweat this time lmao

Chapter 14: Honey, I Fought the Kids!

"I'm Sally Acorn! After me and Sonic went our own paths, I went off with Nicole to travel the world while helping in stopping Robotnik's nefarious schemes. We hope to bring peace to other places, starting with the seaside city of Station Square."

In Station Square, a small yellow Mobian kitty in a red dress is seen sipping some honey flavored milk shake from a glass she ordered. "Sigh. Even the taste of such delicious milk shakes have lost their charm. I need some action in my life. Drama. Maybe a few explosions too. I can be a popular model all I want, but there's hardly any benefit to it," the cat laments, sipping more of her drink. She then pulls out a red gem - a Chaos Emerald. "Oh little rock from the sky that dropped on my head the other day. Please tell me if there will be a chance of any life changing events..."

As she stares at the gem, a weasel Mobian trips and spills his drink on her dress, ruining it. "Oops, sorry, ma'am," he says as the cat got very red in the face with fury.

"Hey! Watch where you spill! This is my favorite dress and I'll make you pay for the cleaners if it happens again!" she shouts before hopping up. "Ugh... Better get this washed off before it stains..."

As she runs off, she accidentally leaves her 'rock' on the table, ripe for the stealing as the weasel swipes it.

Not far from where the cat was, Sally and Nicole were sitting at a cafe, enjoying some tea. "Wow, Nicole. I've heard about humans, but I've never really seen them before now," Sally says, sounding really excited.

"Indeed. Humans were at one point very dominant. But something happened that caused their numbers to greatly dwindle. They still have plenty of settlements around, but its clear that Mobians have become far more dominant. Where we call the planet Mobius, they call it 'Earth'."

"Huh. So much to learn. Dad used to tell me a lot about humans. There was once a great war with them that his great-great-great-great-great-great grandpa was apart of due to a lack shared resources, but his son stopped the war shortly after under the treaty that 'their land was the human's land too'. Since then, we've coexisted together," Sally says, though she looks at her cup and remembers...the last time she saw the king.

Nicole grips Sally's hand and smiles at her. "We'll see him again. Don't worry yourself over it," she says, with Sally smiling back.

Their peace was interrupted by a scream, with Sally jumping from her seat to immediately see who screamed. It was the red-dress wearing cat, who had lost her gem. "Hey, hey. What's wrong?" Sally asked, looking at the cat.

"Someone stole my lucky rock! I've only had that rock for a day and now its gone!" the cat shouted in a panic.

Nicole looks at the table and activates her opticals to pin point who walked off with it. She sees some footprints before pointing to an alley. "That way."

"Hey. What's your name, miss?" Sally asked calmly, trying her best to calm down the cat.

"...Honey..."

"Okay, Honey. We'll get your rock back. You just stay here," Sally says before Honey jumps to her feet.

"No way! I can't leave my lucky rock alone! When I find that scoundrel, I'll give him a left and a right and a kick! And an up up down down left right left right A B COMBO!" Honey shouts, with Sally just backing up a bit.

"U-Um... O-Okay... You can come with us..." Sally relents, holding up her hands defensively.

The trio follow Nicole's lead until she stops behind a few trash cans. Taking a peek, they see a weasel, a bear, and a...duck? Bird? Definitely a bird.

"Oh! Nack! Whatcha get!? Whatcha get!? Can it go boom!?" shouted the bird.

"Shaddap, Bean! And keep it down. Otherwise, the coppers'll be all over us," Nack says, having the bear grab Bean and stuff an apple into his gullet. "Good work, Bark. Now get this. This here gem's gonna get us a lot of dough. We make da dough, we make a nice livin'. Capiche?"

"..." Bark just starts sniffing the air before turning to the trash. He shrugs and just drops Bean onto the floor, which causes him to spit out the apple.

"Meeeh... Not enough blowy upy. Its so boring without the blowy upy," Bean says, not caring about 'da dough'.

"Oh don't worry. It'll get real explosive soon," Nicole says before sneaking up on Bean and...getting punched by Bark, complete with boxing bell ringing as Nicole is sent at the trash cans and exposing the other two.

"Well well. Nosy little kids decided to come around bein' nosy. Bark, get rid of them," Nack orders with Bark cracking his knuckles.

Honey jumps in and does a flying kick at Bark, which doesn't do anything to the bigger bear. She then starts warping around him, doing all kinds of things to try and injure him, much to his stoic annoyance. He grabs Honey and just grips her by the neck, only for Nicole to run in and kick Bark right where it hurts. This not only forced him to let go of Honey, but pretty much caused him tumbling down.

"Ugh... That didn't look pretty... Bean! Show 'em your explosive tastes," Nack says, with Bean immediately piping up.

"Yay! Mr. Bomb! It’s time to go say hi to new friends!" Bean shouts, tossing a mirade of bombs at the girls while laughing mad. All the while, Nack was just running off with the rock.

"My rock!" Honey shouts before leaping past Bean, bouncing on his head and chasing after Nack.

"Princess, we should pursue!" Nicole shouts as she projects a shield to guard against the bombs.

"One thing at a time, Nicole," Sally says before seeing a un-exploded bomb laying there and just kicks it back at Bean's face, sliding him onto the streets.

An officer runs out of his police car and just sees Bean tossing more bombs into the alleyway. This leads to an immediate arrest, which gives Sally a sigh of relief.

Honey meanwhile chases after Nack, the weasel pulling out a glock and just shooting at the girl. "C'mon, girly! This rock's clearly too much for some dame like you!" Nack shouts before Honey quickly jumps at Nack and slams into him...with her butt first.

Nack loses the bag as it hits a wall, making him angry. He gets his glock ready...only to find it empty. "Oh... Shoot..." he says before a confident looking Honey stands triumphantly and gives Nack a one-two-punch followed by a kick to the wall, knocking him out.

With her rock returned, she ran back to Sally who had just explained things to the police about Bean and Bark. "Hey, Honey. Where's Nack?" Sally asked, concerned.

"Don't know, don't care! I got my rock back!" Honey shouts out, revealing it to be a Chaos Emerald, which Nicole confirms. "A what now?"

"A Chaos Emerald. Its a powerful gem that holds incredible power. Robotnik tried using it to power his Death Egg; if not for Sonic, we wouldn't be standing here," Sally explained.

"Wow. So it’s like...super important and stuff? This makes it...extra lucky..." Honey says, having a kitty smile as she stares at her lucky Emerald. "Well, that tears it. I want to go with you two."

"Uh... When did you decide that?" Sally asked, sweating a bit as she tried to force a smile.

"Right from the moment we met, I could tell you two are from really far. That's, like, perfect! I want to go on an adventure! Full of drama! And action! I'll even help you two out in a pinch!"

Nicole and Sally...just stare at each other, unsure of what to say...until Honey just runs ahead, marching them forward without either of their input.

With a new ally in tow and this misadventure coming to a close with a massive boon, where will Sally's adventures take her? And will it yeild even more success? Find out next time on... Sonic the Hedgehog!

Blake has been going to us (Greenhouse) apologizing for his words during the call. I think Blake is scrambling. It is too much for just one sentence said during the call. Overcompensating, I think. Now Captain wants to target Nicole and Blake. Jarod wants to target Lindsay and William. I like Jarod, but he definitely is playing two sides now. Being on our (Greenhouse) side, but also on the side of Jarod-Blake-Autumn (though not too sure anymore how strong Autumn is with that trio). Captain wants to try a POC alliance. If Autumn is open, and if Jennet or Mario are the ones who come back from the buy back, that might actually work. And it would be very cool to see that happen.

So I checked out early last night because I wanted to watch Ragnarok on Netflix and didn't want to keep checking my phone. I thought when today came around, there would be more people who have played. Um... just one other? 2 rounds? And no one online to play? I tried approaching Kaleigh and Lindsay but no response yet. I guess no one wants to look like they want it too much? But hello, we are in a game, of course everyone wants it. There are a lot of, let's just see what happens, instead of going for it. Maybe the VFT plays into that because it is in play as both Captain and Blake want it. And my fear is if I make it in the GH, nom Blake, he gets the VFT and use it on me again. Ha ha what a trip if that happens.

So I wasn't going to play but Nyx messaged and said they wanted to play. But they wanted to rig it. I didn't want to, I want a chance to win of course. And I did :) Hope they aren't too bummed about it. I am in the GH I think, with at least 3 (Nyx beat Lanie) points. I know Jarod is in there too by beating Daisy.

yes its time for an update! a lot has happened since yesterday... so lets begin with last night, i went to sleep and had the auction in my mind SDFSDFSD i actually woke up before my alarm went off like twice. the first time, i woke up and checked my phone.. it was like 7am and then i went to bed and i dreamed that the auction was already over and i missed everything DSFDFSDFSDF PLEASE! so i woke up right after and phew it was only 8.15am methinks so like 45 more minutes.. anyways!!! blake dm'ed me before the bidding and told me he would go for a flytrap... i mean i know that already and he said he wanted it because its been on his mind. Kinausap daw ng teacher na kasama ng officers ng SFNHS ang mga students ng ibang school ng lasing. Sir, ilam sa imo. Gosh, 'yong mga sinabi naman ni Sir eh. 😂 No regrets about my decision.
