We all know the semi-canonical ‘all the Robins know to hide/duck inside of Batman’s cape, even as adults’ thing.

We also know that Danny ‘is LITERALLY a ghost’ Fenton sucks at remembering his own intangibility while ALSO forgetting to look ahead of him.

All I’m saying is, Danny Fenton (or Phantom, if you’d really like) would absolutely SLAM into Batman on accident while running on roof tops and Bruce ‘Brooding Instinct’ Wayne doesn’t even think twice about letting the kid hide and scanning around for danger before there’s a record scratch of ‘wait who tf is this?’ kicks in.

So. I’m. Haunted by the lighting and posing on the CX-2 poster, haunted by the fact that no one will straight up say that Tech is dead or that he wasn’t CX-2, wondering if the CX-Tech plot wasn’t dropped after all, and hoping against hope that they’re putting this man through the wringer so they can pull him out and give him the happiest possible ending. CX-2 had BETTER be in the next series and he had better be Tech, because I need this to make sense. I mean, I’ll buy that the spear symbolically killed the CX-2 persona. I’ll buy, “Oh, he had to be Crosshair’s shadow in the last third of this series but we had to foreshadow him being Tech in the next one.” “The damage you sustained on Skako Minor all of your behavioral modifications,” coming back around. I’ll buy someone surviving that in the GFFA because they can in the real world (warning for a picture of a real life injury in the link). I’ll even buy that the electricity didn’t kill him because the boulders and the waterfall definitely should have (and it’s Star Wars). I really do not care about plausible survivability. I just want the story to make sense and for Tech to get back to his family.

Anyway all I’m saying is why release a poster that’s going to fuel speculation about a guy whose face we never see after the series is done and out? If you actually dropped that plot, why not change the poster? Or just not release it? Why do this? What is the purpose of this?? Because if the purpose was to drive me, specifically, insane, then congratulations, Lucasfilm! Mission accomplished.

The 3rd DRB being a movie and by consequence screwing over the international fanbase is super disappointing. I feel like everything rides on BAT's drama track now. If Kuko doesn't get any kind of lore or development I might honestly be done with HypMic. I'll still like Kuko and BAT and stream the music but I won't buy anymore merch, I won't renew my hypster membership, and I'll just be apathetic about further development. Like my expectations are so low I'm already dreading another drama track coming and going with no plot progressions. I have so little faith in KR now, its so depressing.

but it’s been a very long time hasn’t it lol?? bat’s 5th year anniversary is coming up and we’ve watched them basically have the same beat as dh; a very close knit story that deals with their bonds outside of plot, except since dh has rei, it felt like it was just a matter of time before dh were integrated into the plot and tragically bat doesn’t have that cushion lol

but i’ve seen jp dh fans gripe about the exact same things we are, desperately hoping the trio wasn’t about to be another track where they’re just drinking the night away and lo and behold, not only are rosasa aware of all that rei and chuuoku have done, the track went out of its way to show them not drinking their lack of development/integration away lmao

so i do believe that kr knows nagosaka fans are tired and i think they’ll give bat fans what they want too finally 😭😭😭 esp since they blatantly gave us a bat chuuoku parallel with the drama track titles (so there is a chance we will have to have chuuoku’s track for further context, as annoying it would be that bat can’t have their own thing in their own track lmao)

and yeah if the 3rd drb is deadass the movie way to shut out the intl fans lmao but i do think they have other plans in store for something else

Your characterization of yuuta is particularly entrancing to me—I get neck-deep in the tragic siblings escaping the Zenin then suddenly yuuta’s loving homicide anxiety spikes me into a hysterical kind of laugh zone tinged with concern and fascination!! Unfortunately, I’ve struggled to find fics that have Yuuta be present in any meaningful way, and I don’t know of any that characterize him the way I do in sea glass gardens. If anyone has found something like that PLEASE tell me I am so starved.

I am always so blindsided and touched by those of you who get into a fandom because of my fic. Like I’ll cry y’all. There’s never been a bigger compliment. I’m so honored by you guys.

seeing a lot of people saying (more or less) that this season of fantasy high feels different from the others and that the choices the pcs make feel tonally surprising or just less sympathetic than the same decisions might have felt in other seasons. i’ve enjoyed this season IMMENSELY, but i don’t fully disagree, and i think in large part that’s due to two factors: the downtime mechanic and the fact that having heroes at this high a level investigating a high school mystery feels insane

like, on the one hand ~60% of the total narrative that we got to see was formatted like a minigame and character development mostly happened within that, in these discrete little chunks that are narratively and mechanically divorced from what the other players are doing even if multiple pcs are involved. i enjoyed the downtime segments a lot and there’s really no other way i could think of to portray that kind of timespan in 20 episodes and still give the players real in-game agency over their characters, but the effect is that there isn’t a linear narrative giving the pcs’ decisions direct, immediate context, and there’s far less tonal or emotional continuity between one player’s segment and another’s, and therefore for the plot as a whole.

and then, on the other hand, we’re seeing like fig’s wild disguise antics and riz’s rogue skills being used on and around members of their community, particularly their classmates and jawbone. that feels really different than watching them come up against, like, bastion city pd or the administrators of hell or the harvestmen—designated “bad guys” or less-relevant stock characters, rather than established npcs and the bad kids’ parents, teachers, and fellow students. it becomes incredibly apparent that they’re using all these crazy abilities that dramatically differentiate them on and within their community instead of on outsiders, and that’s a little bit harder for the viewer to cognitively resolve.

personally, i have really enjoyed watching the season and haven’t had a problem with any of the characters’ actions or arcs. it’s been funny and entertaining and i like that 👍 but i DO think this season felt different. in some of the promo material fantasy high was described as being lthe simpsons setting, and coming from sophomore year i didn’t really see that, but having watched through the penultimate episode of junior year i’ve gotta say yes, that is accurate to this season—highly episodic and highly comedic, with much more apparent differences on a narrative level between the main characters and the rest of the people that populate that world, and i think that, more so than any individual choices made by the players, the downtime mechanic and the highschool-centric setting are big factors into why it feels that way
