Phoenix
What would she say if she were to face her father now, to stand tall and look him in the eyes with tear-stained cheeks? She wanted to tell him that a true phoenix does not rise amid the flames, wild and fierce, but only in the cold, dark nothing that comes after. Born from its own ashes, forged through hellfire and suffering, through its own unmaking, to become something else. Something better and stronger and resilient.
----
I've been wanting to draw Azula post-years of therapy, having recovered and made it out of the asylum with the help of those who truly care for her. Because I think she deserves it. The concept happened to coincide with a prompt ficlet I wrote, so I settled on the scene where she's recently returned to the palace on Zuko's invitation, and is sitting in front of the mirror she once shattered.

Risertrap Guide
Risertrap is a free indie game on itch.io at https://abho.itch.io/risertrap. It has four endings and draws inspiration from the Saw franchise and the Blackjack minigame from Resident Evil VII. In this guide I'll be explaining all four endings!
Trigger warnings for this game: gore, amputation, death
Basic premise: you are playing rock paper scissors with a fellow victim. You have two monitors visible on your screen-- the one on the right displays your choices of rock, paper, and scissors. The circles on the bottom screen are 'calls', which you can use when you lose a round. It lengthens the round into best two out of three, to perhaps save a finger (or worse).
Tumblr media
To explain this simply: the beginning screen. The circles represent how many times you can force a 2 out of 3. When you use one, it is passed to your opponent-- there are ALWAYS four calls available. It can be passed back to you later. You just select your move by clicking on its icon. The blue bar on the bottom is your timer. Running out of time causes an automatic loss and according penalty.
Tumblr media
This is the screen when you have lost a round. You may use your 'call' to force the 2 out of 3, or you may take the loss and forfeit.
The monitor on the left displays your body parts. Whichever part is flashing in red is the next to be removed by the trap set by the sadistic narrator.
Tumblr media
For example, on this screen, I have not yet lost anything, and the pinky finger will be the next to be removed.
Tumblr media
An example of a hand with two fingers removed.
Each time you or an opponent lose a round, the platform you are on raises by one level, indicated by this bar.
Tumblr media
The platform is at level 7 here.
Now that's the basics of the game, onto each ending! Spoilers ahead, please feel free to explore the game on your own!
Tumblr media
This is a simple ending. As body parts are removed, eventually all of your vital organs will be taken, leaving the right monitor like this:
Tumblr media
Your vision will start to fade in and out. Eventually, you will-- without your lungs and heart-- die of hypoxia, caused by inadequate oxygen delivery to the brain.
Tumblr media
This starts off exactly the same as ending 1, but instead of eventually dying of hypoxia, it happens when you lose one more round and your brain is removed.
Tumblr media
When your opponent has their brain removed, you win! The opponent CANNOT die of hypoxia due to balancing issues. I can't give much strategy on how to win, as this is entirely a chance game. Just try to use your calls wisely! I recommend not overusing them and trying to hoard them. Keeping them out of your opponent's hands forces more losses for them!
Tumblr media
Your unfortunate opponent once you've won.
Tumblr media
This ending requires multiple playthroughs.
Tumblr media
This is a little dark to see, isn't it! Let's brighten that up.
Tumblr media
There we go! Now you can see a pattern of dots. Wondering what to do with this? That's for your next playthrough! For now, we're going to click on the pattern itself.
Tumblr media
It reveals this! That is, quite obviously, Morse Code. I have provided a morse code cheat sheet!
Tumblr media
Try and translate yourself!
(Line break so you can translate without seeing the answer below)
Translating that message, it says LISTEN, with a picture of the stylistic eyes. Now, with that knowledge, let's start over! You can continue to play, or just refresh the game and start again!
Now we'll be breaking that morse code translator out again. Try to remember these patterns--
P = short, long, long, short
R = short, long, short
S= short, short, short
I bet it's starting to click now, but if it hasn't: your opponent is blinking in morse code! Start the game and watch his eyes closely. P stands for paper, R stands for rock, and S stands for scissors.
Your goal is to TIE with him. So watch his blinking carefully, and tie him. Over, and over, tie with him.
After eight ties, the right monitor will glitch out, saying Critical System Error.
Keep in mind you can ONLY do this if NEITHER of you have been injured yet.
Tumblr media
He will begin to speak to you through the monitor!
>hello
>im glad you got the message
>we activated the backdoor, which aborts the game
>thank goodness it still works
>but we won't be able to get out of here alive
>if we had admin access, we could get the system to unbind us
>and give us new legs, too (did you notice that? neither of you have legs!)
>but we're going to die anyways without the passcode
>...
>well, at least we aren't forced to kill eachother
The screen will then display a numberpad.
Tumblr media
Here it is!
Tumblr media
Back to the status monitor, look on the right side to see three buttons. Press them in the sequence shown on the pattern from before.
Tumblr media
The dark dot in each column is which to press in order. So it goes bottom, top, middle, top, middle, top, top.
Tumblr media
Now a passcode appears in the top! It is NOT randomly generated, and remains the same through each playthrough-- it is always 9153.
He will begin to talk to you again.
>you... did it...
The platform will rise to your freedom now!
>let's get the hell out of here, friend
That's the end of the guide! This was such a fun little game and I can't wait to review and write guides to more.
EDIT: requested tip-- press Z to skip the intro!

Omg I’m so excited about that fic you’re co-writing. How is that process? Working with another writer. Do you guys each write a piece and take turns? Or do you share a Google doc or something? I’ve always wanted to collab with someone but never could find a good method. And I always feel scared if my partner wouldn’t like a certain bit and vice versa. How do you resolve those kinds of differing opinions and stylistic choices and conflicts if you even have them. 💜
This is actually so cool because it's my first time working with anyone EVER on a writing project and I was nervous at first, like how would it work? ✨️BUT✨️ @thorniest-rose is the most astonishingly wonderful person to work with and she made everything seamless and fun and supportive. We use a Google doc (which I was scared of first but she walked me through it and let me make little changes to the formatting so I felt more at home) and we don't do opposing POV swaps, we actually have this lovely method i could never have anticipated and it's entirely because of how empathic and artistic she is, so.
What we do is I'll usually start writing ahead while we're both in the doc and she'll wait until there's a paragraph or so and then she goes through filling in, adding parts (correcting my mistakes, I make so many where I write so fast) and she essentially weaves all her stunning art through my bare bones, like a rose through the ribs, as I call it.
Then we'll usually swap and she'll go ahead writing and I'll go back and read what she added, expanded, crafted and shaded in and then I'll add parts to to what she writes, expand, and shade in but sometimes I just watch her write and I'm honestly just mesmerised by it. Her process is so beautiful and natural, she's amazing.
So it's very much working together and we're both of the temperament where we always encourage one another with new ideas, tonal shifts, plans and we leave each other little notes too about the parts we love which is really lovely. I don't think it would work with anyone but her because she's so open minded and supportive and inherently creative so I never feel like I need to restrain myself or keep quiet about an idea she might not like.
Sometimes one of us will be in the doc without the other and we'll tinker around a little, go back and reread and make small changes or write ahead but never much when it's just one of us because it's so much better when we do the Rose Through The Ribs thing, sharing ideas and bringing them to life, expanding and nourishing them and then watching what comes of that. It's beautifully intimate and we basically live inside each other now. I'll message her an idea and she'll be typing the exact same idea to me, it's quite magical.
As for conflict, we haven't experienced anything like that because we're so well aligned with our original vision. If we have different ideas about going forward with a scene, we discuss it in very enthusiastic depth and then just go with the one that feels right and keep little bits of the idea we didn't use as spare parts.
💜💜💜

weird day. Monday. 12.5.22. yes.
stuff i did today!
- wore an outfit from the List Of Outfits That Would Be Cool i made yesterday
- lost phone. went on a stupid quest to get phone again and got rewarded with an outfit compliment and my phone. am v glad i have phone
- [work bs static noises]
- made list of possible gifts to get work gift exchange person
- got news of my grandma's dx. not great!
- cooked dinner and my dad and i enjoyed it
- on Saturday i told my stylist my part was in a different place than it actually is (fatal error) so to fix it a little i cut some of my hair with kitchen shears (a centimeter too short) but also did not cut enough of it (fix later)
- called friends and played cards and vibed, that was great
- bought new glasses because apparently i need new glasses every like 4-6 months now
- was too Exhausted to call other people or send the texts i was meaning to send (sorry frondos) (maybe i can fix one of these problems later)
- watched the new episode of Bleach! really enjoying TYBW so far even though i do not remember enjoying reading the manga that much
- hugged my parents
- watered my plants
that's a nice list of things. or, y'know, there are at least two terrible things on it but i mostly did stuff!
i'm in that, like, "everything is horrible because One Big Thing is horrible but also there are other awful things in the background too" spot where any small thing is devastating? like i almost cried about losing my phone this morning and i was SO mad about it and then about all the other bullshit. and then the news was just--haha ok. ok. well. gonna uhhh kneel with my head on my bed like a Victorian protagonist, i guess! feeling overwhelmed and lifeless!
i want the things in my life to stop being in my life. and to welcome other better things into my life. and to have a fucking break.
the current level of anxiety and bad shit is horrid but it's not going to immediately kill me or fuck up my work life. i want better things for myself than this, but my current goal is to make it to February, see if sticking around was worth it and if not screech a lot, and then either way jump shit to a hopefully better situation. and also i'll keep an eye out for nicer ships that i might be able to jump to for, like, January. i can make it till the holidays. i can make it through December.
oh jesus fuck i'm getting hives on my feet now??? rude
anyways. um. i can also quit at any time and take a holiday because of the lifestyle choices i'm making and the privileges i have, so that's an option to remember. it would not be easy or long-term smart but it is a real option if i need to snap. and maybe the more pressing of the two bullshit issues will resolve soon and i will be less stressed and have a little more time for living and soul-nourishing study and stuff like that. we'll see. did i mention today was weird? today was weird. but hey, i did it! go me
there isn't really a nice conclusion to this ramble i just need to get my thoughts down somewhere and public felt better than private for whatever reason, so, here you go

Don't understand social media, because
I'm not from any of the self promoter classes; not a journalist, or a photographer, or advertiser, not a model agency associated person, *certainly not the sex trade*.
Solitary, I tend to be solitary. Some years ago, after Alameda had passed though I was watching telemundo at what remained of my mom's neighborhood. All the local stations were jammed up with politicians decreeing "I'm XYZ, and fire is scary" for a few months after that. Social media is for direct self promotion. This was television though and as though it was a long time ago when television could reasonably be expected to get you elected.
So I went to telemundo for a little bit, to watch a kung fu panda short (could be a movie; could've been legends of awesomeness) and the plot point of the thing is that there's a threat to po. And in the form of an ox or something, and the *only way for the legendary warrior* to overcome his green-is-evil cartoony villain, is all the people of "chinaland" we'll call it, to pray to him; like he's going to throw a genki dama or something. So *who* po is, becomes important with these things; as this is in Spanish language. Is the legendary panda kung fu guy...his Spanish voiceover? Is he Jack Black who is built like a Mexican, who quickly recovered from having his arm shot off by Bruce Willis in the forgettable Jackal?
Is he a white Chinese? Is he Mexican because pandas are built like them? When po speaks Spanish *are they* white? Or Chinese?
It's like being a comedian, any social media user. And I don't get it. Not from Twitter or livejournal (which I've been flirting with what tumblr calls "nightblogging" which are really livejournal posts showing their age, stylistically) or Facebook which really continues the myspace format with more information.
And I think this is all very interesting, because what was considered among the "whitest communities in America" has been nearly mexicanized without anyone really noticing. Classrooms full of kids started working as collectives back in the 80s. Hate groups are here and *they act like Mexicans*. White and affluent Americans with all that same baggage and yet, functioning an awful lot like latinos.
They're not integrated, a lot of latino self segregated communities. Around Ashland, Spanish is not the thing. Notice all the rotting fences around town that rich people regularly replace; because there's no paint or stain, ever.
Too many choices to form a top down consensus, which is what it would take to get them painted and stained or water resistance treated in an inclusive latino community. Affluent white people. Around the region, I've been followed around by cars by make and model (they vary but the precise location and near term time of day never do, consistent with where I'm walking) and even people upstream downstream like any ant colony. As though I'm going to talk to randos (see; not understanding social media) about my specific interests, and while I'm out walking around. (There's an international drug production hub down the road). And it approximates a self training neural network, the latino social organization. So and, white people *gained the tools* to network like Mexicans already had been for thousands of years, just a few decades ago. Po becomes like an aztec priestking when he speaks Spanish among latinos.
And so social media culture and comics by webcomic people and all that, tend toward an "everyone is ugly/poor/objectionable/concerning/villainous/neurotic" because it's emotionally "leveling the playing field" whether or not they realize that. Which is fine, but it takes the softness out of people and replaces it with abrasiveness and sarcasm, and a degree of callousness about the human condition that *we* (meaning most other people on earth), reserve for war veterans and such. Also, we tend to associate that exclusively with men.
(So I feel like my drawing breath is supposed to benefit *whoever the local mano duro is*, someone in or from the drug trade and their descendants I'm guessing)
Takes all the conspiratorial stuff and contrivance right out of that end, on the basis of the interest it serves.
All those "fag hags", ma beagle types, and/or women who can't seem to stop getting pregnant; those are the new one eyed people in the land of the blind. Social media influencer this and that, but they have countless children say and are pooling their resources as a family.

to a-mâ, whom i love deeply: you wouldn't know this, but the thing that kept me religious the way most people understand religion was you. every night i prayed to my little bedside god that all four of my grandparents would live forever. i did this consistently and with fervent hope that the naive persistence of my pleas would exempt me from the rules of life. i stopped praying maybe three years ago. or four, give or take. when dad's mom got hit with covid and we couldn't see her until all that was left was ash, i feared asking god for anything else and not getting it would morph me into someone evil. a truly terrible thing: when you fell ill with cancer, it forced the opposite of me. i wasn't ready to wheel you to the radiation center, or to help the nurses turn you over in your sleep. being gentle was not a choice i made willingly. i've said this before, but i'd kill every good part of me if it meant you could have stayed healthy. i brush your hair away but i can’t quite look at the thinning visage of your face. i worry someday i won't remember your laughter lines but i don't want you to see me cry. i know what it's like to be sick. you don't get a choice in any part of it. not how long you've got to fight and not who gets hurt by it. grandpa, who never really cared about pictures before, makes me take multiple when you manage to sit up long enough to be hugged. he talks about the day you'll get better, and how we'll drive up to the province, to pampanga, where the air is fresher and you breathe easier. mom and i laugh about how sweet he is but it's getting harder to pretend every click of the shutter doesn't sound like a whisper goodbye. there is a stage of grief which they call bargaining where one often begs god, the universe, or some higher power for a loved one not to leave or have left. but i'm not sure what exactly i should beg for tonight. the way i see it, we are always leaving. in the language of our predecessors, the first sentence i ever learned to string together was guâ bêh khi' lo'— hokkien for i am leaving. i used to say this to every elder relative at the end of every gathering; it may very well have been the last thing i said to either of my paternal grandparents before they passed. but for the most part, my leaving was not the end of things. parting ways led to countless more meetings. what to ask for, then, when you know that to leave is also to live in a perpetual state of being: warm and palms sweaty as i read at your bedside, laughing as you walk into the pantry because you forgot exactly what you went in for, hair trimmed neat and short after a runaway trip to the stylist that involves fooling me and scaring us all. what to beg for, when you've given me so much? i don't want to bargain with anyone for anything. i've got nothing worth half the life you're still living with me right now. (once, when we were alone and watching a rerun of barbie hsu's meteor garden, you wept while telling me that you hated it here. your sisters had all left, flown abroad to settle in the states; but you knew i was going to be born so you chose to stay. i remember being eleven maybe, thirteen at most— and so confused. didn't you love grandpa? what about your daughters? your sons? not just mom but all my uncles and aunts? what about the garden with your precious orchids and the wok you use to make all your fried rice? nevermind me. so much of you is here, why would you ever want to leave?) all i can do is write this and think of you as you lie asleep on a hospital bed while i feel a million, bajillion miles away. i don't think mom's got it in herself to hold up the phone to show me your face; but i swear i'm with you this time. if i could say anything to you i would tell you i get it now, ma. that wasn't what you meant. anywhere you want to go, ma, let's go.

So, whether you've been dreaming about your wedding dress since childhood or you're just beginning to explore the possibilities, this blog is your go-to resource.
Let's embark on this beautiful journey together!
Tumblr media
Understanding Your Style and Preferences
Exploring Your Bridal Style
Every bride has her unique style, and the key to finding the perfect wedding gown starts with understanding what resonates with you.
Whether you envision a traditional, romantic, modern, or bohemian look, your wedding dress should reflect your personality and make you feel like the best version of yourself.
Start by browsing bridal magazines, Pinterest, and Instagram for inspiration.
Notice the patterns in your preferences – do you gravitate towards lace, sleek lines, dramatic trains, or intricate beadwork?
Knowing Your Body Type
A crucial aspect of selecting the right wedding gown is understanding your body type.
Different styles and cuts of dresses flatter different body shapes. For instance, A-line dresses are universally flattering, while mermaid gowns accentuate curves.
If you’re unsure about what might suit you best, consult with bridal store stylists; they have a wealth of knowledge about what styles complement different body types.
Remember, the goal is to feel confident and beautiful in your dress.
Comfort Matters
While style is essential, comfort is equally important.
You’ll be wearing your wedding dress for several hours, so it needs to be comfortable.
Consider the venue and time of your wedding.
A beach wedding calls for lighter fabrics like chiffon, whereas a formal evening wedding might suit a gown with more structure.
Move around in the dresses you try on – sit, dance, and walk to ensure you feel at ease.
Personalize Your Gown
Personalization can make a significant difference in how you feel about your dress.
This could mean adding a belt, changing the neckline, or incorporating a family heirloom into your gown.
Discuss customization options with your bridal consultant to make your dress uniquely yours.
Stay True to Yourself
Amidst the plethora of advice and opinions, it's easy to lose sight of what you truly want.
Always remind yourself that it’s your day and your dress.
While it’s great to consider others' opinions, your comfort and preference should be the priority.
Choose a dress that makes you feel beautiful, happy, and, most importantly, like yourself.
By understanding your personal style, acknowledging your body type, prioritizing comfort, personalizing your gown, and staying true to your preferences, you set the stage for finding the perfect wedding dress – one that not only looks stunning but also feels uniquely yours.
Setting a Realistic Budget
Navigating the Financial Aspect of Your Dream Gown
The journey to your dream wedding gown is as much a financial consideration as it is a style choice.
Setting a realistic budget for your wedding dress is an essential step that can shape your shopping experience.
Understanding the Costs
Wedding dresses vary significantly in price, influenced by factors such as designer, material, style, and level of customization.
It's not just the gown itself; additional costs include alterations, accessories (like veils, belts, or jewelry), and potentially cleaning and preservation post-wedding.
Before setting your heart on a particular style, research the average costs and factor these into your overall wedding budget.
How Much to Allocate?
A common rule of thumb is to allocate about 10% of your total wedding budget to your attire, including the dress, alterations, and accessories.
However, this can vary based on your priorities and overall wedding plan.
If the dress is a significant aspect of your day, you might choose to allocate more.
Finding Value for Your Money
A higher price tag doesn’t always equate to a better dress.
Look for value in your wedding gown purchase.
Consider bridal trunk shows, sample sales, and off-season discounts, where you can find high-quality dresses at a fraction of the cost.
Exploring pre-loved gowns is another excellent way to find a stunning dress within a budget.
Budgeting for Alterations
Alterations can be a hidden cost in wedding dress shopping.
They are often essential to ensure your dress fits perfectly but can be pricey.
When budgeting for your dress, always include an estimate for alterations.
Speak to your bridal consultant about what alterations you might need and their costs.
Tumblr media
Balancing Dreams with Reality
Finally, balance your dream gown with your financial reality.
It's easy to get carried away with a beautiful gown that's way over budget.
Remember, your wedding is about the celebration of love, not just the dress.
Be open to different styles and designers that can offer you the look you love within a budget that works for you.
By understanding and setting a realistic budget, researching costs, exploring value options, accounting for alterations, and balancing your desires with your financial situation, you can find a gorgeous gown that won’t leave you financially stressed.
The Ideal Timeline for Wedding Dress Shopping
Timing is Everything
Finding your dream wedding gown is a journey that requires careful timing.
Understanding and following an ideal timeline can make the process smoother and more enjoyable.
12 Months Out: Dream and Research
Start dreaming about your dress as soon as you get engaged, especially if you have a long engagement.
Spend this time researching different styles, designers, and trends.
Create a mood board or a Pinterest board to collate your ideas.
This is also a great time to start browsing bridal magazines and websites to understand what styles you are drawn to.
9-12 Months Out: Begin Shopping
The best time to start shopping for your wedding dress is 9-12 months before your big day.
This period gives you enough time to browse, try on different styles, and order your dress without feeling rushed.
Many gowns take 4-6 months to be made and delivered, and you want to allocate enough time for fittings and alterations.
6-9 Months Out: Say Yes to the Dress
Aim to make your final decision and order your dress 6-9 months before your wedding.
This timeframe ensures that there is ample time for the dress to be made, shipped, and altered.
It also allows for buffer time in case of any unexpected delays.
3-6 Months Out: First Fitting
Your first fitting should ideally be 3-6 months before your wedding.
This is when you see your dress for the first time post-production.
It's a crucial fitting as it will determine what alterations need to be made for the perfect fit.
1-2 Months Out: Final Fittings
Your final fittings will usually happen 1-2 months before the wedding.
These fittings are to ensure that all the alterations have been completed to your satisfaction and that the dress fits perfectly.
It’s also the time to finalize details like the bustle and ensure your accessories complement your gown.
2 Weeks Out: Dress Pickup
Plan to pick up your dress at least 2 weeks before your wedding.
This gives you a bit of extra time in case there are any last-minute adjustments.
It’s also the time to try on the complete look, including shoes, accessories, and undergarments, to see how everything looks together.
The Week of the Wedding: Last Check
Finally, in the week leading up to your wedding, try on your dress one last time to ensure everything is perfect.
Check for any last-minute adjustments that might be needed.
By following this timeline, you can ensure that each step in the process of finding and perfecting your wedding dress is done without hurry or hassle, leading to a stress-free lead-up to your special day.
Remember, the key is to start early and allow yourself the luxury of time to make this important decision.
Choosing the Right Bridal Boutique or Designer
Navigating the Bridal Shopping Landscape
The bridal boutique or designer you choose can significantly impact your wedding dress shopping experience.
Selecting the right one is crucial in finding your dream gown.
Research is Key
Start by researching bridal boutiques and designers in your area.
Look for reviews, ratings, and feedback from other brides.
Social media and wedding forums can be great resources for honest opinions and experiences.
Boutique vs. Designer: What’s Right for You?
Consider whether you prefer a boutique experience, which often offers a more intimate setting and personalized service, or a designer showroom, where you might find more exclusive and custom designs.
Both have their unique advantages, and your choice will depend on your style, budget, and the level of customization you desire.
Schedule Appointments
Once you have a shortlist of boutiques or designers, schedule appointments.
Remember, many popular boutiques require appointments well in advance, especially during peak wedding season.
Quality and Variety
During your visits, pay attention to the quality of the gowns and the range of styles available.
A good boutique or designer should offer a variety of dresses to cater to different bridal styles and body types.
Customer Service Matters
The level of customer service you receive is vital.
You want to work with a boutique or designer that listens to your needs, respects your budget, and provides valuable advice.
A good consultant should make you feel comfortable, not pressured.
Ask About Customization Options
If you’re considering a custom gown or alterations, ask about the process, timeline, and costs involved.
Understanding these details upfront can save you time and avoid any surprises later.
Consider the Full Experience
Remember, your wedding dress shopping isn’t just about the dress; it’s about the experience.
Choose a boutique or designer that makes you feel special and contributes positively to your wedding journey.
Tumblr media
Trust Your Instincts
Lastly, trust your instincts.
If you feel a connection with a particular boutique or designer and they seem to understand your vision, that’s a great sign.
Your comfort and confidence in your choice are crucial.
By carefully selecting the right bridal boutique or designer, you set the stage for a wonderful dress shopping experience.
This decision is not just about finding a dress but about creating beautiful memories along the way to your big day.
The Fitting and Alteration Process
After finding your dream wedding gown, the next crucial step is the fitting and alteration process.
This phase ensures your dress fits like a glove and complements your figure flawlessly.
Understanding the Fitting Process
Typically, you will have two to three fittings.
The first fitting is where the major adjustments are made.
This could involve taking in or letting out areas of the dress, adjusting the hemline, or modifying the bust.
It’s essential to bring the shoes and undergarments you plan to wear on your wedding day to ensure the alterations are accurate.
Second Fitting: Refinements
During your second fitting, the alterations made after the first fitting are reviewed.
This is the time to check the fit with all the adjustments and ensure there’s no pinching or discomfort.
Any further tweaks will be marked and noted.
Final Fitting: The Last Check
The final fitting is your last chance to make sure everything is perfect.
The dress should fit comfortably, allowing you to move freely.
This is also the time to learn how to bustle your dress if it has a train and to confirm all the details are as you envisioned.
Communication is Key
Throughout the alteration process, clear communication with your seamstress or tailor is vital.
Be honest about how you feel in the dress and any concerns you might have.
Remember, it’s their job to make the dress fit you perfectly.
Budgeting for Alterations
Remember to budget for alterations in your overall wedding dress cost.
Depending on the extent of the changes needed, alterations can range from a minor expense to a significant part of your dress budget.
Patience Pays Off
Alterations take time, so patience is crucial.
Trust your seamstress or tailor’s expertise, and give them the time they need to perfect your dress.
Rushing this process can lead to mistakes or less than ideal adjustments.
By understanding and actively participating in the fitting and alteration process, you ensure your dream dress not only looks stunning but also feels comfortable and fits you perfectly on your wedding day.
This process is the final step in making your gown truly yours, a masterpiece that reflects your personal style and bridal vision.
Final Preparations and Dress Collection
As your wedding day approaches, the final preparations for your wedding gown become paramount.
This is the moment when all your planning, fittings, and patience come together.
Final Fitting and Collection
Your final fitting is usually close to your wedding date.
This is when you ensure that every detail of your dress is as you envisioned.
Once you're completely satisfied, the dress is yours to take home.
It's a significant moment, often filled with a mix of excitement and relief.

Well, I'm getting back into animation again, after... nearly a decade?! Sheesh, it's been a while, so hopefully I'm not too out of practice. I also think this's why comics are so hard for me: I was meant to make things move and have it all come out as one giant package, not individual pages. However, animating does bring back cringe-worthy memories of my middle school and high school days, where I'd rightfully get called out for lacking abilities. Yeah, I'm not afraid to admit some self-consciousness nor other emotions, as I am a human being.
Sometimes, you gotta wonder if people are cheering you on for the sake of encouraging a newbie or if it's a matter of possible potential over talent. Egotistical, with that second part, I know, but still. I also wanna do the animations "silent" for some reason, save for music? I guess it could be considered a "stylistic" choice, but come on... You know one reason we cry during our favorite games, movies and all is in addition to that music. Find me someone who WON'T cry, when they hear "I don't want to say goodbye..." during that ONE scene in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2: Explorers of Sky/Darkness/Time! Plus, doesn't it make fight scenes feel more impactful, when you hear every "THUD!" or "POW!"?
Aw well, we'll see... Looks like I won't give up on animation, for reasons of "lacked patience" and all that, just yet. I admit some curiosity in having AI assist me to ENSURE it looks professional and no longer laughable for someone my age-- seriously, a 14-16 year old shouldn't have been animating so lackluster-like back then --since you gotta hold those of us in our 20's to a higher standard of quality output, y'know? However, that would be like something SUPER big or something that a program's touch would do better (Hello, uncanny and alien movement for nightmare creatures!), plus I really like the feeling of just drawing it and the simplicity behind just drawing than commanding a program.

Enhance Your Beauty with Skin Weft Tape-In Hair Extensions
Tumblr media
Are you tired of your natural hair's lackluster appearance? Do you dream of having long, luxurious locks that turn heads wherever you go? The solution to your hair woes is a skin weft tape-in hair extension set. In this article, we'll dive into the world of skin weft tape-in hair extensions, exploring what they are, why they're gaining popularity, how to care for them, and their benefits. Say goodbye to bad hair days and hello to fabulous, voluminous hair!
What Are Skin Weft Tape-In Hair Extensions?
Skin weft tape-in hair extensions are revolutionary for adding length, volume, and dimension to your natural hair. Unlike traditional clip-in extensions, these extensions are virtually undetectable when applied correctly. They are called "skin weft" because they lay flat against your scalp and blend seamlessly with your natural hair, mimicking the appearance of hair growing directly from the scalp.
The extensions consist of wefts of hair attached to a thin, flexible strip of tape. This tape is then sandwiched between sections of your natural hair, creating a secure and comfortable bond that lasts for weeks. With the right care and maintenance, skin weft tape-in hair extensions can be reused multiple times, making them a cost-effective choice for those seeking long-term hair transformation.
Why Are Skin Weft Tape-In Hair Extensions Gaining Popularity?
Natural Appearance: The biggest advantage of skin weft tape-in extensions is their natural appearance. They lay flat against your scalp, making them virtually invisible to the naked eye. This means you can enjoy fuller, longer hair without anyone suspecting you wear extensions.
Comfort and Durability: Skin weft tape-ins are comfortable to wear and provide a secure hold. They won't weigh your natural hair down or cause discomfort. When applied correctly and cared for properly, these extensions can last for 6-8 weeks before needing reapplication.
Versatility: Skin weft tape-in extensions come in various lengths, colors, and textures, allowing you to customize your look. You can achieve it with these extensions if you want to add volume, length, or highlights.
Low Maintenance: Skin weft tape-ins are relatively low maintenance compared to other types of extensions. You can wash and style them just like your natural hair. However, it's essential to follow care guidelines to ensure their longevity.
How to Care for Skin Weft Tape-In Hair Extensions
To keep your skin weft tape-in hair extensions looking fabulous, follow these care tips:
Use the Right Products: Use sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners to prevent the tape from breaking down prematurely. Avoid products with high alcohol content, as they can weaken the adhesive.
Brush Gently: Brush your extensions with a soft-bristle brush to prevent tangles and breakage. Start at the tips and work your way up to the roots, holding the roots to support the extensions as you brush.
Heat Styling: If you want to use heat styling tools, apply a heat protectant spray to the extensions before styling. Keep the heat at a moderate level to avoid damage.
Avoid Overwashing: Overwashing can weaken the tape adhesive. Try to wash your hair extensions only when necessary, and use dry shampoo to refresh between washes.
Professional Maintenance: Schedule regular appointments with a professional stylist to ensure your extensions are in optimal condition. They can reposition or replace any loose extensions.
Gentle Towel Drying: After washing, gently pat your extensions with a towel to remove excess water. Avoid rubbing or wringing them, as this can cause damage.
Benefits of Skin Weft Tape-In Hair Extensions
Instant Transformation: Achieve the hair you've always dreamed of in hours. Skin weft tape-in extensions offer an instant and dramatic change in your appearance.
Confidence Booster: Fuller, longer hair can boost self-confidence and make you feel more glamorous and attractive.
Experiment with Hairstyles: With the added length and volume, you can experiment with various hairstyles, from braids to updos, with endless styling possibilities.
No Commitment: Unlike permanent hair extensions, skin weft tape-in hair extensions offer the flexibility to change your look whenever desired. You can remove them without any long-term commitment.
In conclusion,
Skin weft tape-in hair extensions have become a go-to choice for those seeking a quick and stunning hair transformation. Their discreet appearance and comfortable wear have won the hearts of many. Plus, they offer endless styling options, making it easier than ever to embrace new hairstyles and boost your confidence effortlessly. The Ultimate Guide to Web Development
Introduction
Hello there, fellow readers! Are you ready to dive into the fascinating world of web development? Buckle up! In this introduction, we'll touch upon the key points that will make your web development journey oh-so-enjoyable. From the basics of web development to designing the perfect website, building and testing your creation, optimizing for search engines, and ensuring top-notch security and performance - this ultimate guide has got you covered! Let's embark on this educational adventure together, shall we?
Web Development Basics
Web development, it’s not as complicated as brain surgery, but it does require a certain level of skill and knowledge. So, let's dive into the basics of web development, shall we? What is web development, you ask? Well, it’s the process of building websites and applications for the World Wide Web. It involves a combination of coding, designing, and problem-solving. In simpler terms, it's like playing a game of Tetris, but with lines of code instead of falling blocks. Now, let's talk about front-end vs back-end development. Front-end development is all about creating the visual elements of a website that users see and interact with. It's like being in charge of decorating the front of a fancy restaurant, making sure everything looks visually appealing and functions smoothly. Back-end development, on the other hand, focuses on the behind-the-scenes aspects of a website, like the server, database, and algorithms. It's like being the chef in that fancy restaurant, cooking up all the delicious data that powers the website. When it comes to programming languages, there is a smorgasbord of choices. You have HTML, the backbone of any web page; CSS, the stylistic magician that brings life to a website; JavaScript, the multitasking wizard that adds interactivity; and many more. Choosing the right programming language is like picking the right ingredients for a recipe. You want to make sure it blends well and creates something extraordinary. So, now you have a taste of what web development basics are all about. But wait, don't close the tab just yet! We’ve got more juicy topics to cover. Designing the Perfect Website, Building and Testing Your Website, Optimizing for Search Engines, and Security and Performance. It's like a buffet of web development knowledge, and you don't want to miss out on any of the delicious details. Stay tuned, my friend!
Designing the Perfect Website
Designing the perfect website is like creating a masterpiece that captures the attention of your target audience. It involves a combination of user experience (UX) design, responsive web design, choosing the right color palette, and understanding the impact of typography. User experience (UX) design is all about creating a seamless and enjoyable experience for your website visitors. It includes focusing on intuitive navigation, clear call-to-actions, and minimizing any hurdles that might prevent users from achieving their goals. After all, who wants to navigate through a website that feels like a maze designed by a mischievous goblin? Responsive web design is crucial in today's mobile-driven world. With an increasing number of people using their phones and tablets to browse the internet, it's essential that your website looks and functions flawlessly across all devices. Nobody likes pinching and zooming just to read a few lines of text or accidentally tapping on tiny buttons that seem to disappear into thin air. Choosing the right color palette might sound like a job for an artist, but it plays a vital role in evoking the right emotions and building a strong brand identity. Colors have the power to influence our mood and perception, so it's essential to consider the demographics and goals of your website when selecting a color scheme. You wouldn't want a website for a funeral home to look like a wild and funky circus, would you? Ah, typography, the art of choosing fonts. While it might seem like a superficial aspect, typography can greatly impact the readability and overall aesthetics of your website. From bold headings that grab attention to legible body text that doesn't strain the eyes, selecting the right fonts can make or break the user experience. Imagine trying to decipher a website that uses Comic Sans for everything. It's like reading a serious article written by a clown. So, when it comes to designing the perfect website, remember to focus on user experience, ensure responsiveness across devices, choose a color palette that aligns with your brand, and pay attention to typography to create a visually appealing and enjoyable experience for your visitors. Now go forth and create web experiences that leave users in awe, or at least don't make them run screaming in frustration.
Building and Testing Your Website
Building and testing your website can be a daunting process, but fear not, my fellow web developers! I am here to guide you through it with my infinite wisdom and unparalleled charm. First things first, choosing a development framework. This step is crucial because it sets the foundation for your website. Do you want a sleek and modern look? Opt for a framework like React or Angular. Prefer a more traditional approach? Go for something like Django or Ruby on Rails. The choice is yours, my friend. Once you've selected a framework, it's time to dive into the world of coding and debugging. Ah, the joys of finding that one pesky syntax error that's been haunting your dreams. But fear not, for debugging is just a part of the process. So take a deep breath, put on your debugging hat, and get ready to conquer those bugs like the coding superhero you are. Now that your website is taking shape, it's time to test it for cross-browser compatibility. Because we wouldn't want your masterpiece to crumble when viewed on different browsers, now would we? So fire up your favorite browser testing tools, and make sure your website looks and functions flawlessly across all major browsers. Remember, we want to impress all those Internet Explorer enthusiasts out there (yes, they still exist). And with that, my dear web developers, you're well on your way to building and testing your website like a pro. But before I bid you adieu, remember to keep calm and code on. Because in the world of web development, there's always a new challenge lurking around the corner, waiting to be conquered. So buckle up, embrace the quirks, and let your creativity soar. Happy coding!
Optimizing for Search Engines
Ah, the wonderful world of search engine optimization (SEO). It's like a magical journey where keywords, rankings, and link building strategies come together to make your website shine like a beacon in the dark abyss of the internet. Okay, maybe it's not that dramatic, but it's still pretty important. First things first, let's talk about the importance of SEO. In a nutshell, SEO is what helps your website get noticed by search engines like Google. If you want your site to show up on the first page of search results (and who doesn't?), then you need to pay attention to SEO. It's the secret sauce that can make or break your online presence. A crucial aspect of SEO is keyword research. Knowing what keywords your target audience is searching for can help you optimize your website's content and structure to match those queries. It's like unlocking the secret code to your audience's hearts (or at least their search habits). Once you have your keywords sorted out, it's time to work on on-page optimization. This involves optimizing your website's title tags, meta descriptions, headings, and content to make sure they align with your chosen keywords. Think of it as giving your website a well-deserved makeover. But wait, there's more! To really improve your website's SEO, you need to implement link building strategies. This means getting other high-quality websites to link back to yours. It's like the popular kids at school vouching for your website's credibility. Who wouldn't want that? So there you have it, the key ingredients to optimizing your website for search engines - importance of SEO, keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building strategies. With a little bit of wit and charm, you can conquer the world of search engine rankings and attract all the right attention to your website. Happy optimizing!
Security and Performance
Security and performance are crucial aspects of web development. Ensuring website security is like protecting your valuable artwork from theft. You need to implement measures like strong passwords, SSL certificates, and regular security audits to keep hackers at bay. Remember, it's as exciting as going on a treasure hunt, but with the added thrill of cybercriminals attempting to break into your virtual fortress. Optimizing website speed is like having a superpower. Everyone loves a lightning-fast website that loads in a split second. To achieve this, you can compress images, minify code, and leverage browser caching. It's like giving your website a dose of Usain Bolt's speed. Now, caching and minification techniques are the secret spices in web development. Caching saves a copy of your website on the user's device, enabling quick access for future visits, while minification reduces file size by removing unnecessary characters. Think of it as organizing your closet by minimizing excess baggage. Remember, in the world of web development, security and performance go hand in hand like Batman and Robin. So, tighten those security bolts and embrace the need for speed to create a website that's both safe and snappy.
Conclusion
So, we've reached the conclusion, huh? Well, let me sum up the key points real quick. Web development is a fascinating and complex field. From understanding the basics of front-end and back-end development to choosing the right programming languages, there's a lot to consider. Then, we have the art of designing the perfect website, focusing on user experience, responsiveness, color palettes, and typography. After that, it's all about building and testing your creation, selecting the right development framework, coding like a pro, and ensuring cross-browser compatibility. Don't forget about optimizing your website for search engines, including SEO, keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building. And of course, let's not neglect security and performance, because you definitely don't want your website getting hacked or slow as molasses. Pay attention to website security, optimize its speed, and make use of caching and minification. So, there you have it, folks, the ultimate guide to web development. Go forth and create something amazing!

Thankfully she always seemed to respond back, but even when she didn't you'd put your phone down to repeat the loop. You tried your best to make sure it didn't interfere with your work, but still, your day was marked by Wendy. Although she wasn't there physically your conversations always carried through day and night.
You've known her to be a warm person, always friendly and comforting. You hope you're not reading into things too much, but sometimes you read her messages and your heart skips a beat. The way she would talk about you would make you flustered. It would force you to put your phone down for a second, unable to comprehend the positivity. Then the thought that maybe she was flirting would creep into your head.
The idea that you're just imagining things always comes back to fight it though.
Shaking your head you decide not to contemplate the idea further. After all she was going to come over soon and you needed to focus on finishing your songs. Thinking about any possible romantic feelings was the last thing you wanted to do. Especially with her in front of you.
Luckily the thoughts dissipate as you zone into the work in front of you, scrutinizing every detail you possibly could. You let yourself sink into the feeling of the songs, letting it help guide your decisions in mixing. As quickly as you get focused though, you're broken out of your zone when you hear knocking on the door. Before answering you run to the mirror and take a quick look while trying to make sure you look presentable. When you rush up to the door to open it you act like nothing happened.
"H-hello! Welcome again to my humble abode!" You say it with a smile, trying to suppress the sudden fluttering feeling in your stomach.
"Hey!" She says while looking up and down at you. "Looks like we're accidentally matching today, huh?" Wendy walks past the door and you close it behind her. You take a moment to look at her outfit and then at yours. The both of you had a very blue color palette.
"Well, way to steal the spotlight. You look way cuter than me." You don't sound as confident as you'd like, your voice bordering on the softer and quieter side. You realize you haven't felt this nervous in a while.
"As if that could ever be possible!" Wendy turns her head back at you as she walks towards your room. She rolls her eyes and sticks her tongue at you, only to quickly smile at your remark. "Now stop being silly and let's work."
You follow her into your bedroom and sit down in front of your computer. She sits on a familiar stool and the two of you immediately start working. You share what you have so far, all you do is record some more vocals, including harmonies and adlibs. You polish things with Wendy by your side to help make some stylistic choices. It took a few hours that only felt like mere minutes.
The sun is still out, unlike the first time the two of you had worked together. This leads you to ask Wendy something before she would leave.
"While we're here we should just record the collab video, yeah?" Wendy's eyes light up in recollection of your previous conversation.
"That sounds good, how about we do the Q&A type video today? I can just message Yeri for some questions."
"Sure, I'll ask Seulgi to make up some interesting things for us to answer too."
The two of you didn't have to wait long as both of your friends replied fast, excited to help out and excited to have some questions answered. You situate yourself next to Wendy in a comfortable position and get the camera ready. After getting the camera in position you take the time to fix the lighting in your room, making sure to have a soft and natural feeling with the lights.
Finally, the red light begins to blink on your camera and you wave. Wendy follows along and flashes the camera a friendly look. You give a quick introduction for the video.
"Hey everybody! I'm here with Wendy today to do a little Q&A type video for you guys! We've both gotten some questions from our friends and it's just to share a little about us, how we feel about our collaboration, behind the scenes type of stuff, you know?" Wendy tilts her head and looks at you as you talk, nodding to your words.
"I really can't wait to answer these questions with you." She says with a smile. She looks back at the camera as she pulls her phone out and looks at her messages with Yeri. "Neither of us have prepared any script or anything. We've barely even looked at the questions they've sent us!" You nudge Wendy with your elbow and laugh at a thought.
"What if they sent us something inappropriate?"
"Oh god, Yeri totally would." You both giggle before Wendy prompts you to start reading questions first.
"Alright we'll stop wasting our audience's precious time now. My dear Seulgi's first question is… "what were your first impressions?" Wendy doesn't hesitate to answer the question as soon as it was asked.
"Oh! Whenever Y/N entered the café we were meeting in I was kind of surprised! She doesn't post a lot of pics of herself so to see someone as talented as her in real life was an honor. She's really cute, right?" She reaches out to pinch the cheek of your so-called cute face. You strain a smile of embarrassment at her antics.
"Yeah yeah, I don't record myself a lot." When she stops her assault on your face you follow-up with your opinion. "For Wendy… I was also really surprised… I think I'm really lucky. You guys should know that a camera really doesn't do her justice! When I first met her she certainly gave off a very approachable demeanor too."
"Why do you think that?"
"I don't know? I was really nervous meeting you, yet when I saw you and when we got to talk the atmosphere turned into something really comfortable fast. Let's just move on to the next question." You take a look at your phone again to see Seulgi's question. "What's your favorite thing about the other? Well, Wendy has always been so sweet, it's been wonderful working with her. I appreciate the care and dedication to her work that she has shown me. Her musicality really helped pull everything together, and when I was stuck she was always there to give me a fresh perspective."
"Aww, that's so sweet of you." Wendy says with a blush on her face, her hand covering her face as she laughs a bit. "It's strange to be talking to you like this, I feel like. I think you're a really straightforward person but we haven't really talked about our opinions to this extent! Especially to a camera. Ah… well I think I could really say everything the same for Y/N." Wendy nods a bit in thought before continuing on. "To add to it though, I think Y/N has just always been so considerate to me. Like, beyond being a great musician she has been a good person to me. I think if you've seen some of our interactions on Twitter you'll know that she ended up cooking a wonderful meal for me on our first meeting. I think that if she wasn't as nice as she is, we wouldn't have had this much fun together… wait, this has been fun for you too, right?"
"Oh my god, yes it has. How could you doubt that?" You punch her arm with a fake upset face. You turn back to the camera. "Guys, we've hung out and have talked soooo much outside of our collab. I literally don't understand how she can have a single doubt in her mind about us having fun."
"It doesn't hurt to clarify! Anyways, next question now! And stop punching so hard!"
"Oh hush, it wasn't that hard. Oh hmm, to go along with that Seulgi wonders what our least favorite thing about each other is."
"That's an easy one!" Wendy says all too excitedly. You make a shocked expression, worry flooding your system as Wendy points at you with a smile. "I hate how you're absolutely brimming with talent! Your work is impeccable! Musical genius!"
You groan as your body crumples. "You nearly gave me a heart attack…" Your voice is muffled between your knees.
"It's true though!" Wendy says in a sing-song voice, her face smug in satisfaction to see your scared reaction. "Otherwise there's nothing I can really say."
You gather the strength to get back up and face the camera, then Wendy. Your face is still filled with disappointment but you take your time to stare at Wendy. As you stare at her she seems to come undone as she nervously looks away.
"What are you doing?" A red color subtly creeps up her neck.
"I'm just thinking. I'm thinking that… You also have nothing wrong with you." Wendy can't help but to roll her eyes at your comment. "Except for being awfully cheesy. It makes me wanna go bury myself in a ditch so I won't have to hear your stupid cheesiness again."
"Whatever, whatever. It's my turn to read the questions. Now… this is a good one, "what has the work process been like?"
"Well that's obvious, I do all the work and Wendy leeches off of me like a parasite."
"Hey! Just because it's true doesn't mean you have to say it to the world!" Her response throws you into a fit of laughter, turning you into a mess.
"Oh my, no no! It's really not like that. I would say we have an equal workload, or a workload that makes sense between our respective positions." Wendy shakes her head in disagreement.
"I don't feel so. I feel like Y/N always does so much work, and she does it so quickly too. It makes me feel kind of bad when I sit beside her and see her work her magic. When she's focused and working so hard it's quite amazing."
"Ah geez." You shyly scratch the back of your neck. "Wendy's always like this, complimenting me. Like I said earlier though, she really helps bring me new perspective when I'm stuck and her musicality is like nothing else. She always takes the time to sit next to me and monitor things too. It's not like she's a third party to the process. Not only that," You take the time to send Wendy a smile in an attempt to reassure her that you're not burdened with work. You want her to know that you appreciate her part of the creative process, "but nothing really feels like hard work when I'm with you."
Wendy has a hard time processing your words, so instead of addressing it she decides to just further elaborate her answer to the question.
"Well, I'll just lay down the process for everyone. Obviously, Y/N produces and I sing. Although after enough convincing from me you'll hear her singing on the tracks as well, so say thank you! It all started when Y/N took the time to reach out to me, which I was really excited about by the way, and then we both agreed to meet up at a local place. We just talked about concepts and our availability. We both ended up writing songs and worked together on what we wanted to keep or change. Everything productive happens here," Wendy opens her arms to gesture to the area around her, "at Y/N's place. Even though I have audio equipment at my place too we just record things here."
"Yeah, everything she said is true. I have a little set-up here in my room. I don't think I've ever really shown you guys it? I mean, I've shown my guitar collection before but not all my other equipment yet. I'll film that another time though. Next question?"
"Oh this is kind of interesting to think about, "what do you think the reception of your mini-album will be?" The both of you take a moment to think about it. Recalling many of the things you've read on social media you decided to speak first.
"Well, I think it'll be extremely beneficial to the both of us in multiple ways. I mean first off, I guess by our genre of music we have a lot of overlap between fans. There's been an overwhelming amount of support from fans who are excited to see the both of us collaborate and interact. I have no doubt that it'll do well since it's so highly anticipated by our fans. It'll be even better if you guys manage to stream and share it!" Throughout your explanation you begin to give Wendy shy glances. "I think that even if we drop our music and it doesn't meet much success, I would've gained a lot. I think working together with Wendy has helped me grow as a musician and anything that I learn here I will utilize in the future."
At your last comment Wendy seemed to get excited and she quickly added on.
"Exactly! If anything the most important part about all of this is the fact that I have gained skills as a musician and gained a friend. That greatly outweighs any potential of success." Wendy has a bright smile on her face, happy to be able to call you a friend.
"That doesn't mean we don't want you guys to go ahead and share our music by the way." You joke light-heartedly. "It would mean a lot if you did."
"Now final question for this video! We've been talking too much." Wendy looks at her phone, unlike before she takes a couple seconds before reading the question aloud. "Uh, I think this should be fun to answer. "What do you want to do in the future together?" I think that obvious answer is to make more music!"
You chuckle at her answer before responding as well. "Going to each other's places to have a jam session doesn't sound bad, but hanging out in general is good. We'll definitely continue being friends, and if the reception for our collab is really good we might do another one? That is, of course, if Wendy is okay with that."
"I would be more than happy to do that. I was also thinking of forcing you to binge watch more shows and movies with me."
"Only if you stop hogging the popcorn. Anyways, I think this should be the end of our video. I highly encourage all of you to check-out Wendy's channel in a couple days. The day right before release we're going to be dropping one more video together! Bye-bye!" You wave a goodbye to the camera with a smile. Wendy joins you in your outro.
"See you guys soon!"
You go to turn your camera off as Wendy goes to gather her things. After turning off your lights you go to sit back down on your seat, importing the recently filmed footage to your computer. Wendy takes this moment to sit down next to you again.
"Again, thank you for your hard work!" She says it with a smile as she brings her hand on your arm. "I'm always amazed with the quality of your work and how quickly you can do it."
"No problem, I'll send the songs to you later for your feedback. We'll be able to post everything soon." You smile back at her and give her hand a comforting squeeze. A part of you wishes you could keep your hand there forever.
"Alright, well see you at my place soon!"
When you finally hear the click of your door closing you let out a sigh. You don't want to think about it. You don't want to face it.
You don't want to face the possibility that you've fallen.

"The concert should be done now," you thought to yourself while staring at your phone.
Since your brother's wedding was in 2 days, you didn't have time to fly to Toronto to see your boyfriend and his group perform. You've been on a few tours with them– sometimes working as a stylist for Yugyeom and the whole team. JYP himself even sends you an extra ticket to every single country the boys go to just in case you wanted to come with, but this time however, you had to stay home to help out with your brother's wedding.
It's been almost 3 years since you started dating Yugyeom. What started out as a very unexpected interaction at a dance showcase, later bloomed into something so beautiful. Your relationship wasn't always pretty. In fact, it's true what they say about the first year; it definitely is the hardest.
You've seen them grow, not just as artists but as people, too. You've built such tight relationships with each and every one of them, even the staff members. GOT7 was a family and you were over the moon to be a part of it.
After a few hours of waiting, you decided to take a hot shower before taking a nap. It was a tiring day for you and your family. The wedding was in 2 days and there were a lot of things left to do. You also knew very well that the boys come out exhausted after every show, and so you fought back the slightest feeling of worry in your head and fell into a deep sleep.
You woke up to the sound of your phone going off.
BREAKING NEWS
MEMBERS OF THE KPOP GROUP– GOT7, WERE SEEN AT A CLUB IN TORONTO AFTER THEIR CONCERT. MEMBERS MARK TUAN, JACKSON WANG & KIM YUGYEOM WERE SPOTTED HEAVILY INTOXICATED WITH 3 UNKNOWN WOMEN JOINING THEM AT THEIR TABLE. NO OFFICIAL STATEMENTS REGARDING THE INCIDENT HAS BEEN RELEASED BY JYP ENTERTAINMENT.
People you knew and didn't know were tagging you everywhere. Every photograph, every article, they all had their eyes on Yugyeom, and they all had their eyes on you, too.
Your brother's fiancée barged into your room shortly after the news broke out. She was always there for you, and the relationship you shared was a very special one. You trusted her, and you never hid anything from her after the first time she saw you cry.
"Y/N," your almost sister-in-law cooed. You both knew that it was very unlikely of Yugyeom to act that way, but then again, the people surrounding them aren’t always angels. No one really is.
Just then, the name you've been waiting to see finally popped up on your screen, but this time, you weren't sure if you had the guts to answer him.
"Should I answer?" You asked, sounding miserable as ever. Tears escaped your eyes, glistening like broken glass when the sunlight hits the surface.
"You need to hear it from him, Y/N. I'll be in the kitchen, let me know if you need anything."
Accepting the call, you swallowed hard enough and prepared yourself for what could either be the most painful truth you had to hear, or the biggest lie ever you had to believe.
"Y/N.. hey, please let me explain," Yugyeom's voice was incredibly raspy and shaky, and you knew damn well that he was in tears. It's only been a few hours since the incident, so it was safe to say that he was still quite hungover. You knew they were well taken care of, but what happened cannot be rewritten again. What's done is done.
"Go ahead," you answered. Holding back your tears is always the hardest when you know that you have no choice but to endure the pain.
"We had a few drinks, and we had fun. We had so much fun. The boys and I, the staff. Me and Jackson hyung tried the hose thingy, it was so– cool– but, but I'm sorry babe, I'm so sorry–"
"Do you just.. wanna talk when you’re not like.. this, Yugyeom? Because if you're gonna keep doing this, I might as well just hang up and talk to my fucking wall–"
Oh, the theatrics of a brokenhearted beast.
"No.. stop, listen to me, I'm trying to explain!"
"Okay, then do it," you said angrily. The tears from your eyes were flowing down uncontrollably. It was so painful that you couldn't even hear anything else but the sound of his lies breaking you continuously.
"Mark hyung joined us, and we got so drunk, and next thing you know, these random girls sat with us at the table. I don't remember a lot but– I think one even bit my neck– it hurts, and she– I think she sat on my lap but I think I tried to push her off but I passed out. I don't really remember anything else–"
"You know, Gyeom? Sometimes, I wish you knew what it's like to be the one that patiently waits for you to come home, hoping that the worries in your head just disappear. How could you be so irresponsible? Man.. how could you do this to me? To us?"
"Y/N, you know I love you more than anything else but for fuck's sake, will you please believe me? My head hurts so much and you're acting up! Jesus!"
Yugyeom knew not to push your buttons, but in that state of his, he pushed it all, not missing one.
"Well, if that’s the case then I’m sorry. I’m sorry for caring too much, and for being all up in your business all the fucking time. Have fun remembering how you got that stupid hickey of yours, I’m done–"
"No, you are not hanging up on me, Y/N. It was a mistake, okay? God, my head is killing me and I just.. need you to believe me. I drank too much, and I know it’s bad, but I swear to fucking God, I didn’t do anything to hurt you. I would never hurt you. But you need.. to stop being difficult.. you’re making things worse here–"
The tension grew even more. You were both screaming your lungs out at each other, thousands of miles away from the other.
"Really now?" You spat bitterly. That was it for you. The last straw. "Well then, I know my brother invited you to the wedding, but don't bother showing up. I don't want to see you."
Your harsh words must've hurt Yugyeom so much, that his screams of anger just managed to slip out of his already worn out body.
"You're really throwing this all away– huh? Almost 3 years worth of memories? Just because I made a mistake, just because I don't remember everything that happened to me while I was intoxicated? You think I wanted those girls to come close to us? You're so– Y/N, you really think I wanted to hurt you, don't you? So now.. you do this? You're really breaking up with me? On the phone? Are you fucking kidding me?"
"Trust, Yugyeom. Trust. You broke the most important thing we built. Do you know how hard it is to do this? To date someone like you? People send me death threats, Yugyeom. Just because I decided to be with you. Do you even know how I feel? Do you know how Mark's girlfriend feels? How Jackson's girlfriend feels? Because I do. We all fucking get it!"
"Okay, trust. But let me ask you Y/N, if things were so difficult, why are you still here? Why date me when you could've left? That's what you wanna do anyway, right? You wanna leave, you wanna be free, right?"
But it’s not freedom if it’s not with you.
The bitter taste of surprise was too much for you. It was never meant to hurt that much, but it did.
"Wanna know why I'm still here, Yugyeom?"
"Why," he spat coldly.
"Because I thought that– loving you, oh god, I thought that that was more than enough to believe that we'd make it. But at this point, maybe we're both just better off alone. Separate ways, Gyeom."
Yugyeom let out a faint laugh. The most painful laugh one could ever laugh. A laugh of defeat.
"You're really doing this, huh? This is what you want? You're really doing this to us–"
"You don't need to show up at the wedding.. I'll just, tell them about us after. We'll meet when we're both ready to talk. Be safe."
"Fuck this, Y/N. Fuck–"
And with that, you hung up.
Your heart was broken once again, not by the same person, but because of the same reason you kept your heart safe and hidden in the first place.
Trust.
Yugyeom was your true love. The man you believed to be was your person. The person you entrusted your fragile self to. The person you needed.
But maybe he doesn't need you.
Putting your phone on silent, you cried yourself to sleep, wishing you'd never wake up.
wedding day.
Your eyes were still tired and gloomy, but you were better. You haven't heard from him since the fight and although it hurt you too much to be that person to hang up and end things, you knew better than to mope all day and question your existence.
"You look so beautiful in that dress! I'm so happy you chose that style! It's just perfect," your brother's soon-to-be wife exclaimed. She was the one who held you tight when your heart broke for the wrong guy, and she was also the one who held you when Yugyeom couldn't. It's safe to say she's the sister you never had.
"Thanks, I'm happy to be here. I'm so excited for you and my brother. I don't know what you see in him but I'm thankful you stuck around."
The bride smiled with tears welling up in her eyes. "You stick around for the one you love, Y/N. Even when the storm hits and everything falls apart, wait it out, then love again."
The wedding venue was everything you imagined it to be. A beautiful pathway to the garden, red and white roses everywhere, and photographs of your brother and his soon-to-be wife hung from the stringed lights wrapped around the tall trees to create the most beautiful ambiance.
Your quick peek of the venue ended since it was almost time for the actual ceremony. You were one of the bridesmaids, and you had to be wherever the bride was.
From afar, a tall figure walked towards the venue in a red suit. His dark hair complemented his outfit, and his handsome face was the cherry on top of it all.
Yugyeom showed up to the wedding a few minutes before it actually started. He took his time exchanging words of happiness and support to your brother. Yugyeom's relationship with your brother started out like any other brother – boyfriend relationship, but the two ended up being very close friends. A few moments before announcing the beginning of the ceremony, Yugyeom found his way to his seat. He sat close to the front, but in the corner.
The ceremony began, and every second felt longer than it should have. Closing your eyes, you took slow, but steady, steps to the podium where your brother was. You both agreed to welcome the bride with your whole family present next to him.
dirty looks from your mother
never seen you in a dress that color, no
it's a special occasion
not invited but I'm glad I made it
He looked at you like it's the first time he's ever laid eyes on you. His heart thumped like crazy, seeing how your hair fell perfectly down the length of your spine, in a red dress that exposed most of your back. Yugyeom couldn't resist every urge to kiss you. Every thought of you possibly breaking up with him completely made the poor boy pale. He was madly in love with you, in every possible way, that losing you meant losing everything to him.
The moment you stood next to your brother, your eyes met his. The eyes you hated to look into, but missed the most. Yugyeom stared at you for a long time, before you both snapped out of the trance only you two were in. You saw him mouth a "wow" before facing the bride and giving her a hug.
Walking to your designated seat, your mind went crazy just imagining how hard it would be to keep your composure when Yugyeom would literally be inches away from you.
"Beautiful," Yugyeom said in awe as you sat next to him. "You're beautiful, Y/N."
Without looking at him, you extended your gratitude. "Thank you, Yugyeom," was all you could say.
You both tried so hard to focus on the wedding. For the most part, it felt like no one else was there. You were in the moment, and so was he.
The exchange of vows was definitely something. Every word your brother and his wife exchanged was pure love. And deep down, you prayed that the love you needed was Yugyeom's.
oh, let me apologize
i'll make up, make up, make up, make up for all those times
your love, I don't wanna lose
i'm begging, begging, begging, begging, I'm begging you
As if on cue, Yugyeom held your hand without looking at you. His hand was shaky, and so was yours, but you didn't pull away. You held onto him, too. You held onto him like your life depended on it, and you held onto the person that longs for you the most.
"I do," your brother speaks into the microphone, looking at his woman. Yugyeom holds your hand even tighter, saying the same words your brother said, loud enough for you to hear it. Only you.
I do.
The bride reciprocates, and tears immediately stream down your face as the rush of emotions take over you.
Not wanting to lose the love of your life ever again, you follow suit, and said the same words the bride said. Only for you and Yugyeom, it meant something else. Only something the two of you could understand.
I do.
You both stood firmly, not letting go of each other, when the officiator finally said the words everyone wanted to hear.
You may now kiss the bride.
Not wasting a precious second, Yugyeom pulled you into a tight embrace, holding your head against his chest. His lips planted kisses at the top of your head, and suddenly everything was right in the world.
The scent of his perfume was home to you, and it made you feel so much better.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm so stupid, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry," Yugyeom whispered, still keeping you in his arms.
"I'm sorry, too, Gyeom," you answered, trying hard not to let the tears roll down your cheek and ruin your makeup.
Yugyeom finally kissed you.
He kissed you without stealing the spotlight from the newly weds. He kissed you softly, but it was clear that he longed for it. For you. He kissed you just the way you needed to be kissed, reminding you that he is yours in full surrender.
"I love you, Gyeom."
You finally meet his gaze. The prettiest eyes you've ever seen, and he really was the best thing that's ever happened to you.
"I love you, Y/N. I love you."
Wait it out, then love again.
