Omg this drawing took so long for literaly no reason. Anyway, here's my Amalgamate fan art. I know this isn't some iconic moment, but when I read this scene, it looked cool in my head so I tried to show that in my drawing. In any case, read Amalgamate, it's very good. Keep in mind that it's really angsty. And I mean really REALLY angsty.

One of the fun lil ironic parts of MCMT is that when Draxum actually realized he saw the turtles as kids his kneejerk reaction was basically "well fuck they're kids but they're MY kids and i can't train them to fight now because they're just precious lil babies and I could never make them fight" and he actually managed to hold to that idea.

Until they started school.

And within the first week of school Millie screamed at another kid until they cried because they tried taking a toy from him, Demophon bit someone for looking at him too long, Lua kicked a teacher, and Ragnarok refused to talk and snapped at anyone who approached him.

So now Draxum's getting report after report about how unruly and hard to manage his kids are, how disruptive to the classroom environment, how difficult, etc. So could he do something with his kids to make them not like that please, train them to behave better around other people, that kind of thing. Draxum's a little lost for a while because he doesn't know that much about training children at this age.

But he does know how to teach people to fight. And none of his other resources are adequate, none of his books cover what to do when all of his kids are like this, highly creative and energetic and destructive and made to last days without rest, and they will shipwreck themselves against rocks that most people will never even see in their lifetimes if he doesn't do something.

So. He teaches them the basics of self-defense. And perhaps he should have taught them earlier, given that--well. It's never too early for them to learn. Maybe he frames it as a game, a simple but structured way of getting their energy out. Maybe he frames it as an incentive, a 'don't hit your classmates when you're bored or no sparring after school' type of deal.

Whatever the case, they enjoy it, and more than enjoying it they love it, adore it. They want to train with him, and it becomes a staple of the family routine, the family bonding.

And Draxum pretends it doesn't sicken him at all that fighting is now such a part of his children's lives, even when he didn't want it to be. He couldn't take something they love so much away from them.

I don't know, it's silly, but I really love this story. I fell in love with the details and how everything cohered beyond my expectations, how the little details in worldbuilding made big things click and make sense even though they seemed typical fiction "too much but you have to suspend belief" things at first. And I actually honestly think most of the things some parts of fandom complain about are not only coherent, but some of the best more nuanced aspects of the writing. Everything that I thought and interpreted, even to the most minute details, was confirmed. Even, again, to the most minute details I loved but thought I was being stupid for paying so much attention to, because surely they couldn't mean as much as I thought they did. Yet they did.

Hello and welcome! Thank you very much for the ask!

I'm afraid I don't have an AU for that yet, but I really would like one. Whenever Harmony is a camp counselor (or babysitter if that's preferred), the kids' safety is her top priority. She loves being in the great outdoors and teaching children about the wonders of nature, but Harmony will also take her job seriously.

Since she also loves horror movies, she is well aware of the older, campy slasher ones. In fact, they are a couple of her favorites besides ones about the paranormal like ghosts and demons (which is her top favorite kind).

Because of this, Harmony knows some of the mistakes the victims including the final girl, and doesn't want to fall for the same problems. Yes, panic and fear can make anyone not think clearly but that's where the antagonist gets you. There are times when she may panic, but if others depend on her, that's a different story.

While most camps would not allow weapons, Harmony would conceal a few, mainly to protect the campers. She is a mama grizzly bear by nature and that is the worst kind of grizzly bear to ever come across. She would have a small pistol concealed, which she would use in the event similar to horror flicks.

She would also have a police-grade folding tactical knife that can slide into her purse or pocket. Another plus of the knife below is the glass breaker at the end.

Another weapon is also a smaller keyring knife like the one below.

Because you know, in some movies, even after shooting the antagonist, they can somehow survive. For good measure, Harmony will keep a pocket knife in case of close combat, or when she shoots the enemy down, she will slice them up and dig out their hearts to make sure they stay dead. Harmony hates killing, but in this case, it is to defend others and she knows reasoning with the killer or killers has a low chance of success.

Another thing to know is that in an emergency situation like being hunted down or having others depending on you, anything can be a weapon.

A shovel, axe, rope to strangle, a branch to smack the antagonist, and that pool noodle or intertube one of the kids left by the nearby lake, all potential weapons. Probably not as effective as bullets and blades, but they can help buy time until she can find better weapons.

thinking abt teenage gojo getting squirmy and sulky when he gets in trouble with yaga, about teacher gojo whose most effective argument against yuuta's forced isolation is that it gets lonely living alone. thinking about how he's so many things and not all of them good or sweet or soft, but there's still this exposed strip of him that's like touching a live wire, like a cut rubbing itself raw. the bare human nature to crave closeness and lovingness, but being too much like a serrated blade to really properly claim any of it for himself. can't touch him most days, and shouldn't touch him on all the others. he's too unwieldy. too large and too heavy, too jagged. you'll get tired, or cut up, and you'll set him back down where you found him either way. let him stay a stray in a box.

Bless had had one of his better nights...he was idly twirling a small seed between his fingers, humming to himself as he stepped between the trees. The soft crunch of his spiked shoes digging into the soil, the feeling of the plants all around him...their faint hummings, nearly alive with life...

It was calming.

Of course, that hadn't stopped his ear from twitching as he heard an excited howl from a certain fluffhog- several sensations assaulting him at once as he was slammed to the ground with a grand 'HARM-OOF-?!'.

"OHO! If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get!" He had no intent of going all out- but it was still fun to scramble with Harmony, trying to overpower his daughter. Harmony definitely had the advantage in wrestling- she actually knew a good chunk of the moves she was using, while Bless was running on instinct. The dust flew up around the two as he laughed and tumbled with the fluffhog.

It took several minutes, but eventually, Harmony had managed to pin him. He was held in such a way that much movement might hurt his scars, but he was sure the kid wasn't aware. He lowered his muzzle in defeat, another chuckle escaping him.

"Alright, alright...! You win..." He waited until Harmony was off of him...before diving in for another attack, knocking her to the ground. "--Or do you?!"

kujou sara's main weapon is definitely the bow, we know that but that's just her weapon of choice but being the general of the shogun's army, she is well versed in all types except for probably catalysts. she can swing sword and use a polearm all with near perfect precision. i think claymores would give her the most trouble but she also knows how to use her body weight and has definite muscle to her and after more practice than with the others, would be able to use it as well.
