WE LOVE HACKERS!!! A hacker is a computer enthusiast who enjoys learning everything about a computer system and, through clever programming, pushes the system to its highest possible level of performance. These computer hobbyists are skilled programmers with a reputation of having a little bit of a mischievous bent ā Every now and then, one or two āmisguidedā hackers breaks into secured computer systems and finds himself in just a teeny tiny bit of trouble with the law āOOOPS!!! We like to think of hackers as good eggs, who program enthusiastically and enjoy a wonderful bonding experience with highly intelligent and clever programmers worldwide. Hackers are our friends.

Ok so I should actually post ab the chemical reactions that have been happening in my brain over the last week/day.
So for my bday last year my sister got me this doll from Goodwill:

Obviously just⦠I love him so much. He is amazing. The colors, the aesthetic, the early 2000s computer monitor head. What is this.
So according to his tag heās part of a toy line called WebHeads, which came out in the early 2000s and were advertised as little companions to sit on top of your monitor. You could insert different photos into the screen of their faces, and were encouraged to do so with loved ones based on the personality of each punny character. They were all based on internet and computer features and slang of the time, and there are sixteen different dolls from what Iāve been able to find.
However there are 4 these (baby gURL, Browser the Webhound, Cyber Cat and Mouse, and Doctor Disk) that I have not been able to find any photos of beyond the grainy ones pictured above, which I found via the archived WebHeads site on the wayback machine (www.iwebheads.com).
There at a few characters with listings on eBay and around the internet, but theyāre honestly nearly lost media with the fact that they are no longer being made, were never popular, and have a site where half the product pictures donāt work if you actually click on them.
However! The archived versions of the site on the wayback machine do have every dolls bio, which give things like their favorite phrase, food, and song, and a brief description of their personality. Which Iāve taken screenshots of, and edited in photos for the ones that didnāt work on site. That may be another post if ppl want to see them but THE POINT IS
Through all of this my brain decided to do what it always does: make headcanons and lore based on the extreme lack of information we have on something.
And long story short, I have made myself invested in a civilain/hero and hero/villain love triangle-ish dichotomy between E-Male, Webmaster, and The Hacker, pictured below (though I donāt subscribe to their in box face insert faces). And I have thoughts. And Iām getting some gay computer art of it.

(IDs in ALT for all)
Just got some (to exist) gay computer art. Proud of myself.

Just recieved this absolutely lovely commission of The Hacker, Webmaster, and E-Male being yearning gay computers from @whoalymammoth :-)) Iām absolutely delighted with how this piece came out and he was a joy to commission, so check him out here, or on instagram and twitter, and get somth yourself!

(ID in ALT, little snippet of dynamic thoughts below cut because Iām going all out w this)
Always dedicated to saving the day, Webmaster finds solace in the downtime he has out of the suit. Thatās where he meets E-Male after all, a brash and overconfident coworker who manages to warm his circuits. The two find themselves getting closer over time, an understanding blooming as they help each other come out of their shells and discover their feelings beyond the societal roles theyāve been pressured to conform to.
But Webmaster is conflicted.
As a hero, he has existed in a place of constant flirtation with one of his enemies, The Hacker. Dangerous as he may be, Hacker is smart and witty, and he has a pull to him that is hard to escape. Their dynamic has continued this way for ages, and now, caught between the two, Webmaster finds there is no easy answer.
The more he tries to make sense of things, the more tangled the cords of his heart become, twisting over each other with the thrum of care and wanting.
Stretched to the limit of his processing power, sparks begin to fly.

Looking to know a Webhead?
>>READ HERE<<
Hi there! My nameās Michael and I made this blog because I took a funny little interest in First Ideasā Webheads toy line from the early 2000s. Theyāre a fascinating group of computer and internet themed toys, meant to be monitor companions and photo frames. Now out of active production and circulation and never reaching popularity, the Webheads line has faded into obscurity, and in many cases presents a mystery. What happened? Why is there so little information online about them? Where did they go?
While Iāll be trying to dig up more about them, what I know for now is that there are 16 total dolls listed on the archived iwebheads.com via the wayback machine, several of which have no available photos beyond blurry thumbnails for their bios, and who present both an interesting cast of characters, and a fun look back into the early days of the internet.
These characters are:
Auntie Virus ⢠Baby Boy.com ⢠Baby gURL ⢠Browser the Webhound ⢠Cookie ⢠Cyber Cat and Mouse ⢠Dot e.com ⢠Dr. Disk ⢠E-male ⢠Eve Shopper ⢠Hacker ⢠Melissa LuvBug ⢠Wally Wallstreet ⢠Web Mistress ⢠Webmaster ⢠Web Surfer
Here Iāll be posting the history bits Iām able to find on the Webheads line, the charactersā bios, playlists, headcanons, OCs, art, and more! So if youād like to stick around and learn about some friendly computer companions that nearly count as lost media, youāre in the right place :-)
I got some fanart to kick this blog off, which is just absolutely gorgeous and shall remain here because itās very close to my heart.
Tag directory is under cut, and otherwise have an epic day!
Characters will be tagged by their names as done so on this post, and each of their bios will be tagged with #site bio for their official ones, and #webheadcanon bio for my takes/additional bios on their characters

Holy shit I just realized Hacker isnāt gendered like a lot of the other dolls. Himself is used once in the bio but the āPerfect for pictures of [blank]ā part also lists sisters as one option. Genderqueer king⦠Iām gonna have a field day w this.

As an update, I have officially ordered all unique webheads listings off of eBay/that Iāve been able to find in general so.
