Low-budget activities for regressors
Play games online- Several websites online have games for kids, including cool math games, webkinz, pbs kids, and roblox.
Watch shows- Websites like PBS kids and YouTube have plenty of free content for kids.
Check out items from the library- Everyone knows libraries have books, but did you know many libraries have items such as CDs, DVDs, magazines, audiobooks, online recourses, and some even have passes to local places, games, or toys! You also might be able to print out coloring or activity sheets for cheep or free.
Sing or listen to music- Nursery rimes are great, you can even do motions to songs like itsy bitsy spider or wheels on the bus.
Have a dance party- With yourself, your friends, or your stuffies!
Color- Coloring supplies are generally pretty cheep. You can find free coloring pages online, or just color on paper. Coloring is also popular amongst adults, so you can ask for coloring supplies as gifts. (Brands such as Coco Wyo make "easy coloring books" that are "socially acceptable" for adults, but could be used for regression.)
Little snacks/food- Since you need to eat anyway, you may as well have "kid friendly" snacks and food when you have the chance.
Thrifted/garage sale items- Toys, books, games, dvds, and kid themed home goods from thrift stores and garage sales are often pretty cheep. (I recommend this over going to stores like dollar tree or five bellow, because you may only be able to get a couple of items, and these items are often are low quality and could break easy, while second hand items have stood the test of time.)

This is an issue with far too little study done. It also makes the ban on gay men (and trans women) giving blood because of the potential for HIV seem all the more silly when nearly everyone who gives blood in the US has had at least one covid infection since 2020.
Abstract Background In 2022, the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron surge affected 8.8 million people in Taiwan. This study delves into how the transition from containment to mitigation strategies in COVID-19 control has altered concerns regarding transfusion safety.
Methods Blood donations during 2020–2022 in Taiwan were included. Donation details and post-donation information (PDI) were retrieved to assess donation fluctuations and incidences of various PDI. The main effects of PDI reporting were assessed using chi-square test and logistic regression. Additionally, from April to August 2022, we collected disease information from COVID-19 donors, and tested their repository specimens for SARS-CoV-2 RNA and antibodies.
Results Before 2022, when containment measures were in place, only 8 blood donors with COVID-19 reported PDI. However, by mid-2021, there was a significant decrease in blood donations. In 2022, with mitigation strategies implemented, a total of 3483 donations reported COVID-19 PDI. The incidence of all cause PDI increased from 10.5 per 10,000 donations in 2020–2021 to 29.9 per 10,000 in 2022, with nearly 70% of PDI being related to COVID-19. Female donors reported more PDI events. Additionally, the incidence significantly decreased with age. A total of 1148 repository specimens from COVID-19 donor were tested, revealing no detection of SARS-CoV-2 RNA. The seroprevalence rates of anti-nucleocapsid(N) and anti-spike(S) antibodies were 0.61% and 98.4%, respectively.
Conclusion Transfusion safety concerns in Taiwan progressed alongside the evolution of control strategies, with a one-year delay following the pandemic started. The absence of RNAemia among COVID-19 donors indicates that precautionary measures were commensurate with the risk.

Infrastructure for Disaster Control, a.k.a. Automatic Builds
We all know the feeling of pure and utter stress when, ten minutes before the deadline, you finally click the Build And Export in your game engine and then it fails to build for some reason.
To prevent issues like this, people invented automated builds, also sometimes referred to as CI/CD.
This is a mechanism that tests the project every single time a change is made (a git commit is pushed, or a Perforce changelist is submitted). Because of this, we very quickly know whenever a change broke the build, which means we can fix it immediately, instead of having to fix it at the end.
It is also useful whenever a regression happens that doesn't break the build. We can go back to a previous build, and see if the issue is there or not. By checking a few builds by way of binary search, we can very quickly pinpoint the exact change that caused the regression. We have used this a few times, in fact. Once, the weaving machines stopped showing up in the build, and with this method, we were able to pinpoint the exact change that caused it, and then we submitted a fix!
It's very useful to have an archive of builds for every change we made to the project.
There are multiple different softwares that do this kind of thing, but Jenkins is by and far the most used. Both by indies, but also large AAA studios! So knowing how it works is very useful, so that's why I picked Jenkins for the job. Again, like with Perforce, it was pretty easy to install!

Configuring it was quite tricky, though. I had to create a console terminal CLI command that makes Unreal Engine build project. Resources used: (one) (two)
It took many days of constant iteration, but in the end, I got it to work very well!
I also wrote some explanations of what Jenkins is and how to use it on the Jenkins pages themselves, for my teammates to read:

Now, it is of course very useful to build the project and catch errors when they happen, but if no-one looks on the Jenkins page, then no-one will see the status! Even if the website is accessible to everyone, people won't really look there very often. Which kind of makes the whole thing useless… So to solve that issue, I implemented Discord pings! There is a Jenkins plugin that automatically sends messages to a specific Discord channel once the build is done. This lets everyone know when the build succeeded or failed.
We of course already had a discord server that we used to discuss everything in, and to hold out online meetings with. So this #build-status channel fit in perfectly, and it was super helpful in catching and solving issues.
Whenever a build failed, people could click on the link, and see the console output that Unreal Engine gave during the build, so we could instantly see where the issue was coming from. And because it rebuilds for every change that is made, we know for certain that the issue can only have come from the change that was just made! This meant that keeping every change small, made it easier to find and fix problems!
Whenever a build succeeds, it gets stored on the server, in the build archive.
But storing it on the server alone is nice and all, but people can't really do anything with them there. I could personally access them by remotely connecting to the server, but I cannot make my teammates go through all that. So I needed to make them more accessible for the whole team, to download whenever they please.
For this, I wanted to create a small website, from which they can download them. Just by going to the link, they could scroll through every build and download it immediately.
I already knew of multiple ways of easily doing this, so I tried out a few.
The Python programming language actually ships with a built-in webserver module that can be used very easily with a single command. But Python wasn't installed, and installing Python on Windows is kind of annoying, so I wanted something else. Something simpler.
I often use the program "darkhttpd" whenever I want a simple webserver, so I tried to download that, but I couldn't get it to work on Windows. Seems like it only really supports Linux…
So I went looking for other, single-executable, webserver programs that do support Windows.
And so I stumbled on "caddy". I'd actually heard of it before, but never used it, as I never had a need for it before then. For actual full websites, I've always used nginx. After some time of looking at the official documentation of caddy's various configuration file formats and command-line arguments, and tweaking things, I had it working like I wanted! It now even automatically starts when the computer boots up, which is something that Perforce and Jenkins set up automatically. Resources used: (one) (two) (three) (four)
And I think that's it! Unfortunately, none of this will roll over to the next team that has to work on this project, because none of this is code that is inside our project folder.

TV shows for sensitive kiddos
As a sensitive kiddo, sometimes it can be hard to know what shows to watch. Sometimes, conflict can seem overwhelming or triggering while regressed, so it helps to plan ahead. Here are some shows I enjoy as a sensitive kiddo. I will also put where you can watch the shows for people living in the USA.
1 Bluey! Bluey is a very popular show, and for a good reason. It follows a family of dogs and their friends. It is a great low stimulation show that showcases gentle parenting, understanding, and compassion for children.

2 Winnie the Pooh! Winnie the Pooh is a classic cartoon that has stood the test of time. It features a young boy named Christopher Robin and his stuffed animals come to life.

One thing I love about Rugrats is that the conflict is usually a misunderstanding on the babies part, so it doesn't feel too big to handle or stressful to me. All Grown Up! All grown up is a spinoff of Rugrats where they are preteens. It features the same characters, but with new challenges such as middle school, growing up, friendships, and more.

Carl the Collector! Carl the collector is a new show on PBS kids with an autistic character named carl who likes to collect things and uses his collections to connect with and understand his friends. This show does a good job of showing Carl's unique prospective as well as coping strategies Carl uses. Carl's mom is patient and understanding with him to help him sort through his struggles. Another thing I like about this show is that it represents a family with divorced parents, but the parents are able to get along to co-parent and support Carl.

Max and Ruby! Max and Ruby is another classic cartoon, primarily showcasing Max and his older sister Ruby. Max has limited verbal skills, is free-spirited, and often noisy in contrast to his sister Ruby that is organized and often a perfectionist. Throughout the show, we see Ruby take care of Max as they work through their differences.

This is mainly a list of all the shows I like to watch that are a bit calmer and lower in conflict. In general, many shows that are geared toward younger audiences will fit this description. Hence, the impact of COVID-19 on the brain structure and function, through potential neuropathological mechanisms underpinning cognitive alterations in post-mild COVID-19 infections, remains largely unexplored. This retrospective multicentre observational cohort study, entirely based on a healthcare worker sample (n = 65; 55% females, aged 21–61), investigated the cognitive status and the structural and functional brain integrity among non-hospitalized individuals who developed mild COVID-19 symptoms during the occurrence of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 variants Alpha to Delta, compared with healthy controls tested before the pandemic onset. All evaluations were performed at an average of 9-month follow-up post-infection period. Participants completed a comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and structural and functional MRI exams. Radiological inspection sought to detect the presence of white matter hyperintensities on axial fluid-attenuated inversion recovery images. Global and regional grey matter integrity assessment, analysing changes in grey matter volumes and cortical thinning, and functional connectivity alterations of resting-state brain networks were also conducted. Regression analyses tested the relationships between the presence of specific cognitive impairments and potential structural and functional brain findings. Our results revealed that clinical, cognitive screening and neuropsychological examinations were average between both groups, except for specific impairments related to executive functions in the mild COVID-19. Compared to healthy controls, mild COVID-19 subjects exhibited increased juxtacortical white matter hyperintensities, thalamic and occipital volume loss and diminished resting-state functional connectivity involving the left precuneus and cuneus in default-mode network and affecting the right angular gyrus and left precuneus in the dorsal attentional network. Reduced thalamic volume was the only variable selected in the final model explaining the observed executive function impairment in mild COVID-19. The presence of cognitive, structural and functional brain abnormalities over time suggests that the action of widespread neurovascular and inflammatory phenomena on the nervous system might also occur in mild forms following COVID-19 infection rather than permanent brain damage linked to the direct or indirect action of the virus. Our findings emphasize the need to pay attention to the long-term brain-related consequences of mild COVID-19 infections during the original stream.
