Benefits of AI in Software Testing
AI (Artificial Intelligence) brings several benefits to software testing, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in various aspects of the testing process.
Here are some key benefits of using AI in software testing:
Automation and Speed: AI enables the automation of repetitive and time-consuming testing tasks. This significantly speeds up the testing process, allowing for faster release cycles without compromising quality. Automated testing can run 24/7, providing continuous feedback.
Efficiency and Resource Optimization: AI-powered testing tools can optimize resource utilization by executing tests in parallel, reducing the overall testing time. This efficiency helps in allocating resources more effectively and allows testing teams to focus on more complex and creative aspects of testing.
Test Case Generation: AI can assist in the creation of test cases by analyzing application requirements, specifications, and historical data. This helps in identifying critical test scenarios and generating test cases that cover a broader range of possible scenarios, improving test coverage.
Predictive Analysis: AI algorithms can analyze historical data to predict potential areas of defects or vulnerabilities in the software. This predictive analysis helps testing teams prioritize testing efforts on high-risk areas, improving the overall effectiveness of testing.
Self-Healing Tests: AI can be employed to create self-healing tests that adapt to changes in the application's codebase. When minor changes occur, AI algorithms can automatically update test scripts, reducing maintenance efforts and ensuring that tests remain relevant.
Data-Driven Testing: AI can analyze large datasets to identify patterns and correlations, helping in the creation of realistic and data-driven test scenarios. This ensures that tests are more representative of real-world usage, leading to more effective testing.
Performance Testing: AI can be applied to simulate real-world user behavior and generate realistic load scenarios during performance testing. This helps in identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and ensuring that the software can handle varying levels of user activity.
Security Testing: AI can enhance security testing by automating the identification of vulnerabilities and potential security threats. AI algorithms can analyze code for patterns associated with security risks and help in the early detection of potential security issues.
User Experience Testing: AI can analyze user interactions and feedback to provide insights into the user experience. This information can be used to optimize the software's usability and identify areas for improvement in terms of user satisfaction.
Regression Testing: AI can efficiently handle regression testing by automatically identifying changes in the codebase and selectively running relevant test cases. This ensures that new updates or features do not introduce unintended side effects.
In summary, integrating AI into software testing processes brings about improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and overall testing effectiveness, ultimately contributing to the delivery of higher-quality software.

hiya jadey! A hotchner!reader x spencer request for you <3 Maybe Spencer comes home a little tense/snappy from a case and reader misinterprets it as anger towards her so she starts clesning and catering to what she thinks Spencer needs so he isn’t angry at her anymore? (even thought he never was.)
She sort of regresses into what she did when her adoptive parents weren’t pleased with her :(
love you love you love you superstar!
i love u <3 | fem, 1k
cw past emotional abuse
The door to Spencer’s apartment closes with a distinct clunk. Certainly shut too hard.
It sends a horrible feeling deep into the very pit of your stomach. Like you could cry, then and there. You frown at the odd feeling and stand to shake it off.
Spencer’s home.
“Hey,” you say, calling without seeing him, making your way into the living room from his kitchen to find him at the door.
His bag looks heavier than usual on a slouched shoulder, his hair puffy. He must’ve showered before they flew back into Virginia and air-dried his short curls. He drops his bag on the floor, scrubbing his face, nose and eyes screwed up tightly as his glasses push up to his forehead.
“You okay?” you ask.
His face flickers. “Fine.”
It’s not the greeting you’d wanted. Maybe you’re egotistical or something but you’d at least expected a hug. He’s the one who invited you over, surely he wants to see you?
The queasy feeling worsens.
You give him a little kiss on the cheek to test the waters. “Missed you.”
“Yeah, I missed you too.”
You aren’t convinced. Spencer rubs his face again, trudging to the couch to lay down.
You send yourself into a tailspin. Looking around the apartment, you can see why he’s unhappy. You left your cup on the coffee table, your handbag on the armrest, there’s so much to clean up and put away.
His silence means you did something wrong.
He asked you to be there. He left you the key. But maybe he didn’t really want you there after all.
When you were younger, you’d get home from school, and a half hour later your father’s car would park in the driveway. You’d get this feeling, then, a tenseness, not necessarily fear but anticipation. Some days it wouldn’t matter, and most days he’d come through the door like a animal to be coaxed into softness. You’d convince him to be angry at something else. Enable his fury, agree with every word he said.
Smiling, calmed, he’d walk into a spotless kitchen and find a pan soaking in the sink. I just wish you’d have some fucking consideration, he’d say. Or, Really? Or he’d sigh like he couldn’t believe it and slam a cabinet door.
Nothing was right. You weren’t worth any patience.
“Dove?”
You peek around the doorway again, your tidying having taken you to the kitchen to wash your cup. “Yeah?” you say.
“What are you doing?”
“Just– just cleaning up.”
“It’s fine. It’s clean, don’t worry about it.” He frowns at you. “Are you okay?”
“‘Course.”
His frown deepens. Spencer only ever frowns when he’s confused. When he’s upset he tends to press his lips together in an accidental pout, and when he’s angry, he’s stony. Spencer’s good at profiling because it’s his job. You learned it at home. Seeing anger in things most of all.
“I’m fine. Are you okay?” you ask, wiping your hands on your shirt. “Sorry, I should’ve asked how the case was. It was tough, right? It– I mean, they’re all tough.” You smile as you sit on the couch beside him, one leg tucked underneath you.
He shakes his head. “I’ve missed something. I’m sorry, I don’t know what’s wrong.”
“Nothing’s wrong.”
“You’re not acting like yourself.”
“Sorry.” You wince. “I thought you were having a bad day?”
“I am. Or, I was.”
Spencer holds out his hand. When you take it, he pulls you toward him with the care of someone who knows what it’s like to be startled, shuffling toward one another to be knee to knee. He holds your arm like it’s all of you, pressing you to his chest.
For a while, you just sit there. Quiet, almost silent, the apartment rests around you. Spencer frowns at your hand as he draws lines up and down your arm, but slowly his frown softens, and you realise your stress has faded with it. Spencer isn’t angry. And if he were, it’s not with you.
“Sorry I shut the door hard when I came in,” he says.
You feel caught. “It’s fine.”
“It’s not fine. Today was really bad, I got into it with Emily and the case… I don’t know. But coming home to you…”
Spencer curls your fingers over his hand and presses them to the underside of his chin.
“Thank you for coming over,” he says. “Did you eat?”
You can’t help smiling, turning your hand slowly to cup his cheek, to hold him still. “I was waiting for you.”
“Well, you decide and I’ll go pick it up.”
“I can’t come with you?”
“Do you want to?” He turns into your touch, glasses pushed against his eye, his lashes on the lense.
You take back your hand. “Sure.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, we’ll walk. It’ll be nice, the weather’s not too bad.”
“You feel okay?” he asks.
“Worried about me?”
“What your brother might do to me,” he says, nodding into the joke. Then he cracks just as quickly and tugs you in to hug you sideways. “Worried about how I made you feel.”
It wasn’t Spencer’s fault, but you don’t want to talk about it anymore. You push up taller than him to encircle his head and neck, pressing your nose into the soft crop of his hair. He squeezes the small of your back with similar gusto. “Got my wires crossed,” you mumble.
”Want me to uncross them?”
You say, Please, and Spencer pushes you away from him to put your arms firmly on the right sides of you, uncrossing you, and kissing you on the nose.

I keep having this fantasy about being slowly gaslit into regression, being lied and tricked and by the time you realize what’s going on it’s already way too late for you to back out.
It starts with you accidentally starting to wet the bed. It’s not every night, it seems like a freak accident at first. But after the 3rd time in a month, your partner takes you to the doctor because she’s worried about you. The doctor examines you, runs some tests, and prescribed you some medication that should be able to help with this issue. On the way home, as you stop into the pharmacy to pick up your prescription, your partner also grabs a pack of overnight protection briefs. Just in case. Just until your new medication starts working. It’s not a shameful thing she’s not mad at you, it’s just the sanitary thing to do considering your condition. So you agree to wear them, you start taking your new pills, but it never stops. It starts getting worse, too slow to notice at first, but after a few months you’re wetting yourself more nights than you aren’t.
The breaking point comes when you have a daytime accident. You’re driving home from work, and your pants suddenly feel warm and wet, the stench of piss filling your nostrils, it’s almost too much to handle. You’re overwhelmed. You finally get home and walk inside, crying from the shame as your partner rushes to your side, trying to see what’s wrong. As soon as she sees you she realizes what happened. She guides you to the shower, re-assuring you as she helps strip you from the soiled clothes, running to grab fresh ones for you as you clean yourself and contemplate what’s going on. You hear her on the phone scheduling another appointment for you as she places the set of clean clothes by the sink for you to change into after your shower. When you’re finally done, you step out and notice a pair of your padded briefs on top of your clothes, no underwear. It makes sense, but it’s still not easy to accept you’re going to need wear these during the day as well. You’re worried. The medicine isn’t helping, you’re not sure why this is happening to you. But your partner is there to re-assure you, to get you the help you need. You two will figure this out together.
You arrive at the doctors 2 weeks later (it was the first appointment they had open) with soaked padding hidden underneath your pants. The daytime accidents had become more and more common in those agonizingly long weeks waiting for this appointment, but you’re here now, your partner is here with you holding your hand, rubbing your thumb with hers to reassure you as you sit together in the waiting room. Finally your name is called, and you have another visit with this specialist your partner found. He’s very sympathetic, he explains that this, while uncommon, is something he’s seen before. He prescribes you another course of treatment to go along with the first. It has a pretty lengthy list of side effects, but he’s confident it will work. He writes you a prescription for the new medication, re-ups your prescription for the first treatment too. It’s a lot to take in, but the finish line is in sight.
Your first week on the new medication is ROUGH. You knew there were side effects, but you weren’t expecting this. You’re incredibly tired. It’s not uncommon for you to take multiple naps throughout the day. This paired with brain fog (another side effect) makes working incredibly difficult. Your performance is slipping because you just can’t really focus on anything anymore. Those, combined with how the medication makes you grind your teeth until your jaw is sore, you just don’t know how you’d get through this without your loving partner by your side. She holds you as you cry at night, comforting you, reminding you that this isn’t your fault. It’s not a moral failing it’s a medical condition. It’s not going to be forever. You just need to wait for the medicine to take its effect, and you’ll be good to go. “It’s like Chemotherapy,” she says. “The side effects suck, but it’s better than the alternative, right?” And of course, you know she’s right. It’s just hard to keep everything in perspective.
She was by your side with solutions to every problem. Concerned by how much you were grinding your teeth, she looked for some solutions online before you wore yours down to nubs. The pacifier had been a hard sell, but she reminded you it was just like your protective briefs. It’s just what we need to do because if your condition. So every night you strapped the pacifier around your head so you couldn’t spit it out in your sleep, and you kept it on hand during the day for if the grinding got to bad. When the fatigue and confusion and lack of focus got so bad you couldn’t work anymore, she helped you get some extended sick leave from work, so you knew you’d have a job to get back when you got better. When new side effects started appearing, like your loss of fine motor control and muscle atrophy, she was more than happy to help. She would help you cut up your meals into more manageable pieces, since you had trouble working your fork and knife. She got you bottles with lids to help with how much you were accidentally dropping heavy glasses. When you started having trouble with the stairs, unable to make it up to your shared bedroom on the second floor, she helped get you set up in the guest bedroom downstairs. It was a childish room, but at least you weren’t risking those stairs multiple times a day anymore. She looked after your every need. She picked up your prescriptions on time every months, made sure you never ran out of your protection, drove you to your now weekly doctors appointments monitoring your progress, the side effects, and your continued deterioration. She took care of you, and you could never thank her enough.
When you got too weak to change out of your wet protection yourself, she helped with that too. She started buying a new brand of protective undergarments, ones that your doctor had highly recommended, with tapes. She set up a nice little table for changes in your room, and your little changes quickly became your favorite part of the day. It’s not that you enjoyed having someone change you out of your wet diapers, (and let’s face it, that’s what they are) but it was just so….. intimate. Her opening up the tapes, wiping you clean, making sure to massage the lotion into every little crevice, applying the scented powder, it was a lot more fun than you cared to admit. She made sure to give you all the attention and care you needed, making sure you didn’t feel embarrassed about this change in circumstances. After all, as she kept reminding you, it’s only temporary. Only until you get better.
As the months turned into years, the changes in your life kept piling up. When doctor switched you to an all liquid diet, your partner made sure to lovingly prepare your meal replacement shakes, even holding the bottle for you on nights when you were too weak to hold it in your own. After finding you face down on the floor one morning, having fallen out of bed and unable to get yourself back up, she replaced that guest room bed, your bed, with one that had raised walls so you weren’t at risk of falling again. When your various medications started impacting your emotions, making you cry at the drop of a hat, or get frustrated at the smallest things, she was always there to comfort you. On Valentine’s Day, after you had expressed how much you missed cuddling her at night, she got you a big stuffed bear sprayed with her favorite perfume so it was like you were holding her in your arms again. She bought you new clothes that snapped at the crotch to make changes easier, she exercised your limbs, made sure to get you out if your bed so you weren’t at risk of getting bed sores, she took care of your every need and want.
You didn’t notice her calling you “Baby” with increasingly more frequency, it had always been one of her favorite pet names. You didn’t notice her beginning to talk to you in more and more childish ways as time went on, fussing over this and that. You didn’t notice the knowing looks her and the doctor exchanged from time to time. Why would you? It’s not like she had anything to hide from you. She clearly loved you. Look at everything she was doing for you. You eventually stopped noticing the years ticking by, your condition never getting better. You forgot that was even an option, after all, you had been settled into this routine for so long now, you barely remembered what life used to be like. You hardly even questioned it when she started occasionally breastfeeding you. At that point you were so starved for that sort of intimacy you were just glad she found a way you two could still have fun like that in your weakened state. (Sex had been a physical impossibility for some time now. You could barely stand, let alone do anything like that)
By the time you did realize, it didn’t even matter. You tried to confront her, but she just laughed. After all, what could you even do about it? Who could you tell? How would you be able to survive without her? It’s not like you could go back to being a normal person after this, she had made sure of that. Even if you got away, would anyone be able to love you like this? Be able to dedicate their life to taking care of you? You were comfortable here. You had your every need taken care of. It was easier to just give in, like you had so many times before.
After all, Mama would never let anything bad happen to her baby.

Stanley gets taken to court and, shockingly and embarrassingly enough, Stanford is there. Probably doesn't want someone in his family dragging their name in the mud...
Stanley had been entertaining the idea of just going to jail more and more- at least he'd have a bed and food... It was a losing game, even if (surprisingly) this time he was innocent. He'd been framed and he found that he didn't really care.
Imagine his shock when someone comes to plea his case, not just anyone: his psychologist from that one time he was stuck on the (excuse my languge) coocoo hospital.
"Patient had shown moments of age regression" then a fully detailed description of what that was
"There were times patient appeared to be reliving moments from the past" blah blah PTSD
Stanley could feel his face burning more and more, shrinking in embarrassment and shame as his psychologist (that prick) listed more and more- spilling out everything he had to drag out of Stan and even quoting Stanley's words from his notes.
Then, the cherry on top-
"Patient has taken a test and it has been revealed-" No... "that he is indeed in the autism spectrum-"
Stanley tuned it all out, the shock of the situation settling. He felt naked... stripped of his clothes and akin, no way of defending.
Yes, go ahead and tell everyone how he is a fuck up and that him being dumb isn't something that can be fixed. That it is simply who he is-
On top of that...in front of his brother...
Forget about going to prison...Stanley wished he would just die right now.

DOCTORS OF DOG LAND
by A. Griffin / Super Train Station H
•••••••••••••
Once upon a time, in a country far away, lived a society of canines that walked on only two legs. They wore shirts, and also pants, and could hold things with their hands, and they ran a hospital whose science work was quite advanced. One patient they cared for, submitted by her parents, had symptoms most unusual, their cause far from apparent. When happy without fail rather than simply wag her tail, she weirded others out by doing strange things with her mouth, making expressions unacceptable, whose wrongness needn’t be mentioned, reacting to being glad by making a face that threatened - with twisted corners of the mouth, demanding bad attention. For a dog to show their teeth, threatens a bite to all who see - that a happy pup would act like that was strange, and near obscene. There were other factors too, filling the folder of her case - as stimuli of normal life caused vividly painful headaches. Senses smashed by overwhelming force, over-loads would occur, bending sight and sound, into phantasmagoric blur. She'd also stare at certain plants, then strangely say, they were pretty, so came batteries of fancy tests to diagnose her quickly. The doctors sat down grimly with her father and her mother, and explained that their dear little girl had visions plagued by "color". A study of her eyes determined over-active cones, making normal waves of light appear as strange and separate tones. Her enjoyment of these hues expunged alternative conclusions - this afflicted little girl was clearly suffering delusions. Arcs of broken light she said, bowed skyward after rain, illusions such as these signaled a misdeveloped brain. And for the chronic headaches there was nothing they could do, but they prescribed her medication so she'd see as others do. Isolated as she was she longed to be included - since strange things made her happy, it fit perfect to remove them. She called chromatic deviations wonderful, and nice to see, but disturbing thoughts like that could be suppressed with therapy. Patient complaints of her new vision, were really nothing worth a listen - professionals were sparing her the pain of seeing different. It would be cruel not to address her habit with her mouth - that teeth-exposing tick, when happy, needed wringing out. Just how to come about a cure, posed somewhat of a puzzle, until a genius doctor strapped the girl up in a muzzle. Its calibrated sensors administered electric shocks, that provided helpful feedback, each and every time she talked - and also if she regressed, by wasting time staring at flowers, there was no doubt she could be fixed, with scientific power. There was word that special glasses, might be all that it would take, to lessen certain bands of light that triggered her headaches, but that would signal "strange condition" and cause outsider suspicion - and making her look normal was the object of the mission. There were extremists out there who claimed the "color" thing was cool, though those mutts lacked PhDs and couldn't change the rules. And if some had become doctors, and spectromatic sight they had, that disqualifying trait signaled they needed to be banned. The goal was not to understand and lend a helping hand - enforcing homogeneity was normalcy's demand. Oh if struggle could be softened, without persecuting patients - but thinking so inventive, was the future's innovation. So within the narrow focus of the logic then at hand, they heeled unto textbook commands, for treatment plans in Dog Land.
If you liked this poem, you might like my work-in-progress YouTube video series Barrier Aggression, in which I provide detailed commentary on a few non-disabled disability gatekeepers who have put themselves in charge of an "autism advocacy" nonprofit.
(this isn't a criticism of science/medicine helping disabled people, its a criticism of science/medicine "treating" characteristics that are only problems in the context of them not being seen as "normal" by typical people)

Designationless reader questions
1. Did designationless reader ever get taken to the doctor or a specialist as a child to do scans or blood tests? Maybe even live at the hospital for a little bit while scientists do their own testing.
Like does something show up in the medical examination she has to do for work. Doesn't necessarily mean she can be cured but there could be treatments that potentially let her be able to smell the 141 properly without needing the candles.
2. Or is it a regressive gene that someone in her ancestry had? You know where it can skip several generations and then show back up.
I guess I'm wondering if readers parents ever tried to find out if there is some underlying problem or if they knew it was genetic and neglected reader from the start.
Here she is thinking it was something she did, something was wrong with her, but her parents either didn't care enough to try and find an answer or they knew it's genetic and they never bothered to tell the reader that it's not her fault.
How deep does the neglect go?
3. What if readers designation/scent was so faint because it wasn't fully developed when she was born, that because her family kept pushing her away and she wasn't allowed in the nest, her body just paused her designations development because of the mental strain/stress she was going through.
Now with her constant proximity to her pack they could start to get glimpses of her designation. It may never properly develop now but she wouldn't be as "broken" as she thought she was.
in this au, i have it as reader isn't the first one to be born like that. so reader's case isn't unknown- but her parents are very, very insistent the hospital has it all wrong, that their equipments and the doctors are at fault, so that's the reason why reader did indeed have to stay a while there.
in all honesty, all i had for it was that its a genetic mutation moreso, and idk if that can be passed through generations. as for the neglect, i'd say it's a lot more on the emotional side of things. reader was never physically abused, but they were just heavily left to fend for themselves- only given basic necessities the more they grew up and even the baby phase went away.
made this one a draft lol i will most definitely be writing it bc god yes 😩😩

Simon Williams for Time:
It’s hard to believe it's been five years since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since 2020, the disease has killed more than 1.2 million Americans—more than in any other country. That accounts for more than 1 in 7 reported COVID-19 deaths in the whole world (although the true global death toll is likely much higher due to under-reporting). Don’t be fooled by some social-media revisionist historians who would have us believe that COVID-19 was “mild”—it was one of the most lethal infectious disease outbreaks in human history, ranking only behind the 1918 Spanish Flu and the Bubonic Plague (not including the ongoing HIV/AIDS epidemic). Advertisement Thankfully, in 2025, the days of lockdowns and quarantines now seem a distant memory for many—even though the physical, mental, and emotional impacts of the pandemic persist in many ways. However, the question remains: Are we better prepared for next time? Sadly, if anything, we are less prepared than before.
Pandemics are not necessarily once-in-a-lifetime events. We already saw in 2009 a swine flu pandemic that killed up to half a million people globally. H5N1 bird flu continues to spread in poultry, wild birds, and mammals in the U.S., with each case increasing the risk of further spillover into humans—making the U.S. a possible epicenter of any new flu pandemic, should the virus evolve further to spread easily among humans. MPox, MERS (another coronavirus with a high fatality rate), and Ebola are just some of the currently circulating pathogens with pandemic potential. And, of course, "Disease X" (a potential virus that could emerge in the future that we don't yet know about) is always a possibility.
What should we be doing that we’re not? First, we should be making investments, not cuts, in pandemic preparedness. The U.S. has withdrawn funding from the World Health Organization. Working alongside local and national health authorities, the WHO is a key “first responder,” identifying and containing infectious-disease outbreaks before they spread. The U.S. contributed approximately $120 million in 2023-2024 on responding to acute health emergencies and to preventing pandemics and epidemics, so our step back leaves a massive hole in resources designed to tackle emergencies and stop outbreaks from spreading. Also, recent funding cuts or freezes to agencies like USAID are already having ramifications on the ground, with public-health professionals concerned that progress in tackling diseases like tuberculosis will stall or regress. With less funding, pandemic preparations also slow down, and the U.S. ceasing negotiations for the Pandemic Agreement and amendments to the International Health Regulations makes matters worse.
5 years ago this week, COVID mitigation measures started to be implemented in various aspects of our lives.
On March 11th, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared COVID-19 a pandemic. On that same evening, multiple COVID-related news items broke out, including the positive COVID test of Tom Hanks, the NBA suspending its season due to Rudy Gobert’s positive COVID test, and Donald Trump announcing a travel ban from EU countries.

HIII I NEED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE STARCHILD AU I’M OBSESSED 🥹🥹
since you asked! here's a few random tidbits that hasn't been asked about yet :)
around the time mephone left to travel with the shimmers post ii18, the ex-contestants went to live across a few small towns and a bigger city by the coast (a straight-shot boatride from inanimate island, but a long one). they all live rather close, but that isn't set to last forever—among the many that don't call it home, salt and pepper plan to move to NYC at some point soon as they can get the funds.
additionally, they are all learning a LOT. the different culture of the real world (dating and marriage for one), the complexities of renting, having a job, science that was beyond even test tube's knowledge.
mortality is something they have to grapple with now so that's.. not fun. balloon is probably the most scared of the fact, and has regressed a bit in terms of secluding himself.
another tidbit,
mephone and the shimmers don't only stay on the ship, they sometimes visit planets with many different creatures and species, some very object-like, others not. mostly to show mephone around!
some people closer to prime and are aware of the missing shimmer egg (they used to give updates as to whether or not they heard its screams nearby) are overjoyed to learn that they were found! but theres always a point of confusion in why he's, well, a phone.
what else...
mephone is very, very scared of repeating his actions again. that is, generating a person without his knowledge. anyone he meets that isn't a shimmer, strangers who aren't friends of prime, he gets very nervous around. he can't trust himself. they could be real or they could be of his own creation, how would he even know?

Season 18 Bechdel Test
I gotta say. This was not a great season for women. (That is, if you only go by the Bechdel test, which is really only useful as in aggregate for getting somewhat of an overview on representation. It is not a test that accounts for any sort of nuance. It is just for fun.) Here's the rest of the seasons for comparison. Full spreadsheet here.
As you can see, this season had more failures of the Bechdel test than any season since Crystalized. More than one of the episodes that succeeded would have failed if not for an exchange between Rox and Kur. (As I've been saying since Sons of Garmadon, having a female henchman to a female villain makes passing the Bechdel test easy. Super catchy saying.) This season also only had 2 named women introduced. Much less than prior DR seasons, but I will chalk that up to overall reduction in new characters. Just guessing off the top of my head, 5 men were introduced. At least. So hmm, I hope DR isn't losing one of its key Bechdel success factors - not having men be the default. That would truly be a regression. Aside from that, I don't think that this season's failures demonstrate any sort of destruction of the show's female characters or anything like that. It failed primarily because of two simple factors.
The main female characters were split up.
The characters' primary goal was to find two male characters.
Elaborating on these points, for the majority of this season, Sora was the only woman in a group while Nya and Wyldfire were in a group with Kai. You'd think that the Nya & Wyldfire group would save us, but both characters tend to only talk to Kai because that's the character they have a close relationship. Similarly, you'd think PIXAL joining the Sora group would help, but the two characters never end up speaking because Sora spent this season mainly speaking to Arin, Frak, and Lloyd and PIXAL primarily speaks to Zane. And I mean, this issue of female characters only speaking to male characters could be indicative of a larger issue in which they're really only accessories to a male storyline (ex: just a sister/girlfriend/mom). However, I think it's more due to this season's group breakdown. I'll also point out that Zane primarily speaks to PIXAL. They've always neutralized eachother in interaction data. I think she actually spoke to more people this season than him. I also think, more than anything, the lack of interaction between female characters at the moment is of an age gap thing. As demonstrated by Nya's line "My brother and his clueless friend," there's sort of an interesting dynamic in the show right now where the adult Ninja don't really know the young Ninja at all unless they're mentoring them. I kind of like it to be honest. It's pretty realistic that they're not all close and that they'd discuss more serious issues (ex: the loss of Jay) with their long-term friends rather than some teenager. The characters' goals are also of course an issue. Nya's looking for Jay. Sora's worried about Arin. Wyldfire's trying to save Roby's life. Thus, whenever they speak to each other it ends up being about the man they're looking for. This, naturally, could also be indicative of a larger problem. We don't want female characters' storylines to always revolve around men. Still, provided this isn't a consistent problem, I'm inclined to think it's just a quirk of the story as it stands right now.
My reverse Bechdel of Crystalized actually suffered from the exact same problems. They were trying to find Nya and they spent much of the season split up into heterogenous groups. You may notice that the split was the bigger issue. Same case for Chaos Rising.
Thank you for reading all this! I'll reiterate that I just do the Bechdel test on Ninjago for fun because it's interesting to see how an kid's action cartoon (something that would be exclusively aimed at boys in the 2010s) has changed over time in how women are represented. If you want to see this chart clearer or the rest of my spreadsheets go to this link. Please let me know if you have any other ideas for Ninjago charts!

Can we get a fic about Wilson&House finding out Chase regresses please 🙏🙏🙏
Fun fact! I already had a prompt similar to this sitting in my notes app before I ever made this blog, so I decided to work on that! It just includes cg!House, I hope that's alright. House would have a very... ahem, interesting first-time-cg style.
-----
Word Count: 1230
Summery: House can tell that something is up with Chase on an overnight shift.
-----
Something was wrong with Chase.
House stared at him through the glass of his office, watching him go back and fourth between flipping through the patient’s files and a newspaper crossword. At least, that was what he was pretending to do. Chase’s eyes were obviously unfocused and staring directly through the papers, and it looked more like he was moving them around on autopilot to seem busy in front of his boss who he knew would be spying on him through the window. A smart move to be sure, but ultimately a pointless one.
Chase picked up his pen and hovered it over the newspaper like he was going to write in an answer, then stopped and put the end of the pen in his mouthfor the dozenth time.
House wrinkled his nose in disgust. He was never using that pen again. It was definitely covered in bite marks and saliva, and while there was probably a large clientele who would pay too much for pretty-boy’s spit, he wasn’t one of them. If it wasn’t the pen, then it was biting the top half of his thumb or pointer finger, before he would get a look on his face and switch back to the pen or the cuff of his coat sleeve.
Then there was the fidgeting. For the most part, Chase matched the expected appearance of a man who had been awake for twenty-four hours on an overnight patient watch; sunken eyes, painfully-bored expression, slumped posture, and a general air of ‘I’d rather be having steamy sex with a hooker right now’— or maybe that was just him— but Chase was fidgeting almost constantly. It consisted mostly of swinging his feet back and fourth under the glass table or mindlessly shaking his free hand up and down. When he was particularly lost in thought, he would begin rocking in place to entertain himself.
It was when the thought crossed House’s mind that Chase looked more like a little kid waiting for their parent to finish up at the DMV than a doctor trying to stay awake that he began to think that Chase was more than just tired.
Age regression was a zebra, but Cuddy hadn’t given him his own team and office because he was an expert at finding horses.
He watched as Chase yawned and rubbed his eyes, then rested his head on his hand and slipped his entire thumb in his mouth. If it wasn’t regression, then House got an embarrassing habit to hold over his head for the rest of time.
It was probably best to test his hypothesis before they were called to deal with the patient and Chase’s toddler brain accidentally killed her. He turned to his laptop and typed ‘colouring pages’ into Google, then printed the first result; an ocean floor scene with corny cartoon dolphins and fish.
At the sound of the printer starting in the office, Chase seemed to snap back into some kind of focus and pulled his thumb from his mouth, hastily tucking it against his cheek.
When House walked in, Chase pushed away his file and cleared his throat. “Did you find something for the patient? I can’t think of anything.”
“Forget the patient, I have a much more important question.” He set down the colouring page in front of Chase, “How do you feel… about sea creatures?”
He watched as Chase’s eyes went wide for a split second before he schooled his face into confusion. “What’s this?”
“Sea creatures.” He tapped the cartoon dolphin’s face, “See?”
“Yeah, uh… Why?”
“You tell me. Why would I, as your boss, distract you from a case with a children’s colouring page?”
Chase shrugged, looking anywhere but directly at the picture. “I ‘dunno…”
“Sure you do.” House nudged at the pen on the table. The plastic end was completely mangled by teeth marks, and it left behind a small trail of spit as it rolled. “And the sleeve, and the thumb, and the fidgeting like a four-year-old.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, House—“
“Tell me the truth, or you’re fired.”
Chase looked up at him in disbelief. “W-What?”
“You’re showing signs of an altered mental state. What if you were drunk? Or on drugs?” House wondered aloud, “The hospital wouldn’t take kindly to that, and what would that say about me? I can’t have a drugged-out doctor on my team—“
“I’m not on drugs! Or drinking!”
“Then what?“
“It’s age regression, okay?” Chase blurted, “It’s this thing I do, I-I was thinking like a kid and it’s not like— why am I explaining it? You already knew, I’m just— I was tired and we weren’t getting anywhere with the case, s-so…”
House smirked with vindication. “So you figured it was fine if your adult brain took a vacation for a few hours, right? The patient’s not important, I get it.”
Chase buried his face in his hands. The tips of his ears were bright red with shame. “Please don’t fire me. I swear, it was a one-time thing, I’m not— I can control it, I—“
He hummed and tapped his fingers against his cane in dramatic thought. “I don’t know… I’m pretty sure you need to be at least eighteen to be a doctor, and you’re, what? Five? Cuddy wouldn’t appreciate the liability, and I don’t know if I can trust you to be a big boy if you can’t handle a—.”
Chase sniffled. Ah, crap.
“M’sorry,” He mumbled and stood up quickly to leave, but House grabbed him by the arm before he could run away and lightly pushed him back down into the chair.
“Sit down, relax.” He wanted to mess with the kid, not make him cry. “I’m not going to fire you.”
Chase looked up at him, eyes round and wet like a sad puppy. House grimaced. “But you said…”
“It was a joke. I was just messing with you.” He didn’t look convinced. On one hand, House was happy that his theory was correct. On the other, now he was stuck babysitting his employee who he’d inadvertently worked up into a panic. Why couldn’t kids ever understand sarcasm?
“Oh…” Chase shrunk in on himself and fiddled with the end of his tie. “…Sorry.”
“It’s fine, kid.” He sighed. “How young am I dealing with here?” If he was babysitting, he at least wanted to know what he was getting into.
Chase stared at him owlishly like he was afraid to answer, and his face flushed pink as he answered, “Six..?”
“So I was close! Look at me go. Listen, we’re going to talk about this later, but you’re not fired, got it?”
“Mhm.”
“Oh, and you’re off the case until you’re an adult again. If you get paged, I’ll go. I was serious about the liability, Cuddy’ll be up my ass if I let a toddler perform CPR.”
Chase frowned indignantly. “That’s not a nice word. An’ I’m not a toddler.”
Oh good, the language police. “You’re close enough.” He turned to grab the cup of pens on a nearby counter and set it down next to the colouring page. “Here. Not much for colours, but it’ll do.”
Chase looked between him and the pens a few times before hesitantly picking up a red one and beginning to fill in the crab.
“Oh, and no eating them. Those are my good pens.”

Random Daily Thought Concerning Barry Allen’s Super Healing
If Barry had any allergies pre-lightning strike, whether known—be it through assumed genetics, tests, and/or finding out the hard way—or completely bizarre and therefore unknown, would his super-healing post-lightning allow him to consume/interact with these allergens with little to no effect?
And if so, when he loses his powers, such as through his battles with power-draining metas or sacrificing his abilities to Zoom in order to save Wally, would his body regress into a state of reacting to those allergies? Or would it be a case similar to exposure therapy and he is now and forever cured of said allergies regardless of his state of metahuman powers?

An excellent breakdown of the efficacy of covid vaccines in children with some haunting statistics included:
Finally, only 7.4% of children ages 5 to 17 years in our study had received an XBB vaccine by the end of April 2024, which is similar to California Department of Public Health estimates of 6% to 7% for this same age group and time period.
Even if we could actually vax our way out of the covid pandemic, there's nowhere near enough uptake to pretend like we can. Mask up. Clean the air. Take all the steps and precautions you can to help keep yourself and everyone around you safe and healthy.
Introduction Vaccine effectiveness of XBB messenger RNA COVID-19 vaccines against mild to severe outcomes has been shown for adults in multiple global settings.1-3 However, data describing the effectiveness of updated COVID-19 vaccines in children are scarce. We evaluated the BNT162b2 XBB vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech) effectiveness in children ages 5 to 17 years during the 2023-2024 respiratory virus season in a large integrated US health system.
Methods Similar to prior studies,3 we conducted a test-negative case-control analysis to evaluate BNT162b2 XBB vaccine effectiveness against acute respiratory infection (ARI)-associated (eTable in Supplement 1) hospital admission and emergency department (ED) or urgent care visits among children ages 5 to 11 (using a 10-μg formulation) and 12 to 17 (30-μg formulation) years from October 10, 2023, through April 30, 2024, at Kaiser Permanente Southern California (KPSC). This study followed the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) reporting guidelines. This study was approved by the KPSC institutional review board with a waiver of informed consent because it involved a minimal risk to study participants.
Cases had a positive SARS-CoV-2 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) or antigen test during a hospital admission or ED or urgent care visit, and controls tested negative and had no evidence of a positive SARS-CoV-2 test in the prior 90 days. In sensitivity analyses, we evaluated the impact of (1) restricting results to PCR testing only, and (2) excluding test-negative controls identified by antigen testing alone. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% CIs comparing the odds of vaccination with 1 or more doses of BNT162b2 XBB with the odds of not being vaccinated with any XBB vaccine were calculated from multivariable logistic regression models (eMethods in Supplement 1). Vaccine effectiveness was calculated as 1 − OR multiplied by 100%. Significance was determined with 95% CIs.
Results Of 15 233 ARI encounters among children ages 5 to 17 years meeting eligibility criteria (7342 female [48.2%]; 1450 Asian or Pacific Islander [9.5%], 1358 Black [8.9%], 8752 Hispanic [57.5%], 2678 White [17.6%]), 9834 were among 5-to-11-year–olds (334 hospital admissions [3.4%], 4377 ED visits [44.5%], and 5123 urgent care visits [52.1%]) and 5399 were among 12-to-17-year–olds (125 hospital admissions [2.3%], 1953 ED visits [36.2%], and 3321 urgent care visits [61.5%]) (eFigure in Supplement 1). Overall, 336 of 9834 5-to-11-year–olds (3.4%) and 388 of 5399 12-to-17-year–olds (7.2%) tested SARS-CoV-2 positive (Table 1). In the full cohort, 1125 children (7.4%) received an XBB vaccine by the end of April 2024; 339 of 9834 5-to-11-year–olds (3.4%) and 264 of 5399 12-to-17-year–olds (4.9%) received BNT162b2 XBB vaccine with median time since vaccination of 75 days (range, 15-199 days) and 64.5 days (range, 16-197 days), respectively. Among those ages 5 to 11 and 12 to 17 years, estimated adjusted BNT162b2 XBB vaccine effectiveness was 68% (95% CI, 11%-88%) and 63% (95% CI, 20%-83%) against COVID-19–associated hospital admission or ED or urgent care visits, respectively, with an overall estimated vaccine effectiveness for all 5-to-17-year–olds of 65% (95% CI, 36%-81%) (Table 2). No COVID-19–associated hospitalizations occurred among those who received BNT162b2 XBB vaccine. Estimated vaccine effectiveness was generally similar for all age groups if results were restricted only to PCR test results or if antigen results were used only to identify cases (Table 2).
Discussion Our results suggest that the BNT162b2 XBB vaccine provided protection against COVID-19–associated hospitalization and ED or urgent care visits among children 5 to 17 years of age during the 2023-2024 season with estimated vaccine effectiveness point estimates ranging from 63% to 73%. The US rate of COVID-19–associated hospitalization was roughly 10.5 per 100 000 among 5-to-17-year–olds from October 2023 through April 2024.4 Assuming 65% vaccine effectiveness, vaccinating the roughly 54.3 million 5-to-17-year–olds in the US5 could have averted approximately 3700 hospitalizations and, using the approximately 30:1 ratio of hospitalizations to ED or urgent care visits we observed in our study, roughly 111 000 ED or urgent care visits during the 2023-2024 respiratory virus season. Our observational design has previously described limitations,3 including potential unmeasured confounding, potential misclassification of prior infection or whether ARI encounters were truly COVID-19–related, and lack of generalizability to other populations. Finally, only 7.4% of children ages 5 to 17 years in our study had received an XBB vaccine by the end of April 2024, which is similar to California Department of Public Health estimates of 6% to 7% for this same age group and time period.6 More efforts are needed to improve pediatric COVID-19 vaccine uptake.

Elements of Disharmony - Twilight Sparkle
Introducing, my version of the Elements of Disharmony, and introducing the first victim of the AU, Twilight Sparkle.
Heyyy infodump time
Twilight sparkle was born with high praise and expectations on her, especially with Shining Armour as her older brother and THE Princess Cadance, princess of love, as her foalsitter.
These expectations only grew as well when the ponies around her started to see her own talent for magic, learning spells much quicker than her peers, and casting simple spells such as levitation spells at an adult's level.
She was so good at casting spells that her parents applied for her to study at the academy for gifted unicorns, where she was to perform the test of cracking a dragon's egg. After many attempts, she felt that she was going to have to give up, as she was unable to even put a small crack in the egg. However, just as she had accepted her defeat, a loud bang and bright multicoloured lights overwhelmed the room, and, in her shock, something in her body unlocked, and her horn let out a bright light and her body was overwhelmed with a power she had never felt before, and a power that she couldn't control. Before she knew it, her parents and the assessors were shifting into different objects, regressing in age and losing control of the gravity around them. The only being who could protect herself from Twilight's power, and therefore calm her, was the Princess, who was alerted to a problem when she saw the large head of a purple dragon break through the roof of a Canterlot building.
When Twilight was calmed, and Celestia reverted all the changes Twilight made to the ponies around her, she promised to teach Twilight how to control her powers, along with congratulating her for her skills, and notifying her of her cutie mark. An 8 pointed star, and the symbol of her talent of magic. Twilight was ecstatic, and couldn't sleep for many nights out of excitement.
However, as the years went on, Twilight's excitement slowly turned into hopelessness, as many, if not all of her lessons with Celestia to control her magic was fruitless. She couldn't even perform simple levitation spells without risk of losing control. Sometimes her spells would misfire, striking to the right or left somehow, or they'd be a completely different, random spell. Or, in rarer cases, her horn would let out more magic than she intended, which will risk breaking the object she's trying to lift, or a magic meltdown, which causes mass destruction in whatever room she's in.
Celestia could not help her. And she was juggling enough issues as it was, with her sister banished to the moon for the next thousand years after she attempted to return, raising both the sun and the moon on her own, protecting and ruling Equestria, helping Cadance and the Crystal Empire, and so much more that meant she was less and less able to help Twilight. So, one day, she made the extremely difficult decision to strip Twilight of her magic, as it was her magic that was damaging both herself and everything around her, along with every nearby pony.
However, Starswirl the Bearded, during his time before his disappearance, was never capable of finding an artifact or spell capable of absorbing some of Twilight's magic, which left Celestia no other choice than to confront a centaur in Tartarus, Tirek, who was locked away for attempting to steal the magic from Equestria. On top of allowing him to absorb her magic, with Twilight also consenting to this, she heightened security for Tirek, giving him enchanted restraints and enchanting his cage, so that they would never lose their magic, and would neve break, so, if Tirek was to ever absorb the magic from his restraints and cage and grow, they would never break, so he would have to either return the magic and give up, or suffocate from his own body squeezing against himself.
After Twilight lost her magic, and therefore her ability to cast spells, and her cutie mark, which reminded her of what made her Twilight, she felt like she was missing a large part of herself, as if she was almost just a shell of what she once was. She felt colder, more exhausted, weaker, and much more apathetic to the world around her. On top of that, she felt a strong pull from her magic, as if it was trying desperately to return to her.
After months of trying to recover and resist these feelings, she couldn't handle it anymore, and she travelled to Tartarus, to meet with the centaur, who promised to not only return her magic, but to also teach her how to use it, telling her that Celestia was lying to her about her being unteachable. And that his only condition for her magic was his freedom, and for her to take him to Celestia.
In any other situation, Twilight would have refused. However, the pull of her magic was too overwhelming, and her growing desperation allowed her to believe the lies of Tirek. And, as such, she agreed. Tirek gave her a portion of her magic, but claimed that he gave it all to her, and gave her simple advice of how to control herself and her spells, finding her resentment growing for Celestia, as, for years, she was believed to be uncontrollable, only for her 'best teacher' to be a centaur. As she found herself performing various spells in her excitement, Tirek fed her more and more lies about Celestia and her 'jealousy' for Twilight's potential, which served to make her hate Celestia more and more. And, as part of her deal, and as part of her gratitude to Tirek, she released him from his cage, and guided him to Canterlot, allowing him to drain the magic of other ponies as they travelled. All while maintaining some control of Tirek to protect herself from ever losing her magic again.
And that was the day the princess of the sun and Equestria lost her magic.
Now you’ve come this far, help a family!

Older Brother Caregiver Arven + Hyposensitive Regressor (FT. Mabosstiff and the rest of Arven’s team)
( Hypo Sensitivity as in : Rather than being incredibly sensitive to most forms of sensory input, said person is barely affected)
Regression range? - N/A, Neutral
🥪 🌿 ~ If you’re often understimulated as a result, Arven finds himself making you specially flavorful foods and drinks for you to taste test. He enjoys researching as much as he possibly can to find the right things for his little buddy
🐕 🩹 ~ Mabosstiff likes to lay on you to provide both heavy amounts of pressure and so you can feel his fur, he loves getting hugs from you if you like them. Plus, he’s very very big and warm! Fills your arms just perfectly!
🥪 🌿 ~ Sometimes you play your music or video games a little too loud, Arven gently reminds you to tone it down a little or finds ways to muffle it out. But not without giving you a playful nudge or ruffle of the hair! “Woahh, jamming out a little too loud, little buddy. Can you lower the volume just a bit? Aww thanks, you’re a real life saver.”
🐕 🩹 ~ Toedscool will carefully squeeze the appendages on its body around you in a hug if it notices you’re spacing out from little sensory input. It’s like a full body embrace and helps keep you grounded. If you’re not into hugs; it’ll just wrap them around your arms
🥪 🌿 ~ Sensitive to taste but not to other senses? No problem! Trusty ol’ Arven can accommodate for you! He’ll find some less overwhelming recipes to work with. Anything for the best sibling in the world.
🐕 🩹 ~ Garganacl is always there with healing salt in case you hurt yourself on accident; it can be hard to tell when something’s hurting you when the sensory input is so hard to process. And Mabosstiff is always there to alert Arven if something happens.
🥪 🌿 ~ Arven has a habit of isolating himself in the lighthouse when he feels overwhelmed, but he really wants you to be happy. So he’ll take you out or even take your own offers on going outside, that way you can feel that nice sun, wind, and grass. Not only is it good for you, but for Arven too!
🐕 🩹 ~ Greedent carries sour and spicy berries just in case of a pickle where they need to get you out of a bad state. It’s easy for pokémon to read the emotions of others, so they can quickly tell when you’re starting to numb out from lack of interaction.
🥪 🌿 ~ Arven is a little iffy on letting Nemona watch you when you’re regressed, but he trusts her! Unfortunately that trusts sometimes ends in him coming back to find a rowdy little sibling and best friend covered in sticks and leaves from chasing a wild pokémon around.. But he can’t stay mad at that face, he can tell you had so much fun.

Just had an idea that developed XD: How OP could we make Desmond without giving him godlike powers thanks to the Grand Temple device?
My suggestion? Give him Spidermans powers. Climbing walls, spider sense, super senses, healing factor etc. You could also add stuff that Spiderman wouldn't use, due to his "No killing" rule, like powerful venom and fangs and those arm pincers that Spiderman apperantly had in the comics for a while.
He would be the perfect Assassin. XD
We could also easily set it up too. Maybe Hydra or Oscorp are looking to make a super soldier/recreate Spiderman and this random man shows up without any ID? Perfect test subject! It would also be hard to escape as they would account for super powers with the security, so Desmond ends up rescued by the Avengers+Spiderman.
Just an idea i had and i'm curious to how you would make him OP. ^^
So I’ve been reading a lot of manwha for years now and it definitely shaped my answer to how we can make Desmond OP.
Information.
Whether this means what Desmond would know about what’s going to happen because this is a time travel/regression/transmigration setup or if this is a case of the Apple giving him the information he needs, Desmond could use that information to his advantage, both to amass large amount of money or to do what he wants to do.
If we combine my idea of an OP power and your idea of giving him OP Spiderman power, the next step is obvious.
Desmond is a comic book nerd who got isekai (or transmigrated) into a Spiderman world.
The problem is… which Spiderman world is this???
Should he be looking for Peter Parker?
How was he so sure that this world’s Spiderman is Peter Parker?
Oh god, what if it’s those Spiderman movies instead???
Should he look for anyone that looks like Tobey Macguire?
Hell, it could have been the new one with Andrew Garfield.
There was too many of them to count!
And it is during his ‘hunt’ for Spiderman (because at the very least, he believes Spiderman might listen to him) that he gets abducted by Hydra/Oscorp/whichever evil corporation you wanna use.
His blood was meant to be used to test for variations of the super soldier serum but Desmond isn’t a damsel in distress and he tries to escape.
During the escape, he gets into an accident (whether he gets bit by one of the plot spiders or maybe he’s nicked somewhere and the Spiderman serum prototype gets into an open wound) during his escape and starts to exhibit the same powers of Spiderman.
And that is the least of his worries because he is an Assassin through and through so he did what any Assassin would do when they’re abducted by an obviously evil corporation.
Kill everyone in the facility while finding out names of other targets to take them out in the future.
And…
Well…
Massacring an entire facility isn’t really a good resume for the superheroes in this world.
.
Desmond thinks the new Spiderman movie is Amazing Spiderman starring Andrew Garfield because that would be the latest Spiderman he’d watch (2012)
Up to you which Superman/Marvel story he did end up with. It might be fun to keep it vague, keep Desmond guessing lollol.
