Fiancee and I are having a small courthouse ceremony to get married next week. For various reasons, we don't have rings yet, so we decided to use a length of string to tie around each other's fingers for the ceremony. We're going to say something like, "And with this string, I tie the knot with you."
We were trying to figure out how the judge would prompt the (st)ring exchange part, and thought we could have her say something like "And now for the ABO part of our ceremony," or maybe, "And now it's time to get knotted, but you're both betas, so use string."
We thought this would be especially brilliant because the judge wouldn't know what ABO was, but my girlfriend pointed out the judge very well could know. Then we imagined the judge hopping on tumblr later to tell tumblr about the crazy ceremony she had to officiate. My girlfriend said I could just reblog it and say, "Wow, the same crazy thing happened at my wedding!"
We probably won't add ABO to the ceremony, but my girlfriend said that we can't deprive tumblr of this idea, so here you go.

i stg sometimes i think i'd understand aliens more than i understand americans
some girl on reddit is complaining how her 26 yr old disney adult sister wants to dress her up as a disney princess for her bridal party & since she's not very feminine she doesn't feel comfortable doing it. she rightfully called her sister childish & immature for throwing a tantrum about it but everyone in the comments is calling HER the asshole?
one comment was even like "being in a bridal party is like being in a play, you play the role of bridesmaid, not the bride, so you can't decide what the costumes/makeup/hairstyles are" WTF? YES I CAN? no one is allowed to cross my bodily autonomy just because they're signing an archaic legal document to pay less taxes are you morons for real

Guys, destiny matrix chart is So gorgeous 😭 , I fell in love. I am new to this, but it's so fascinating, so I am sharing with you guys. Obviously I learnt a lot from ann_matrix_destiny insta page. I explained some of her work here, rest is mine.
✨What is Destiny matrix chart?
-A spiritual and metaphysical chart that reveals a person's life path, soul purpose, and potential.
✨How is it calculated?
-Based on a person's birth date, using a complex system of numerology and astrological correspondences.
💫 How to see some important events of your life?
Tumblr media
see this area(perimeter line)of your chart , this will explain many important events of your life.
💚Age of getting married/ meeting with your significant other/ spouse:
- look at your age in your chart, if you see 3,5,6,19,20 at the top of your age then at that age you will get married/ meet your significant other/ start a family. Like in this chart I have shown above '5' is top of the age of 23.5- 24, so this individual will meet their spouse at that age/ get married.
• Going through Transformation in your life :
- if you see 13 or 16 at the top of your age , then at that age your life will drastically change/ you will go through a huge transformation of your life. You will change your location/ your career/ will shift to another country or city.
⚡Moving abroad/ travelling:
If you see 7,10,21,22 above your age then this is the best age for travelling or going abroad.
Tumblr media
if you find 21 in your love line(circled part)then most probably you will marry a foreigner.
Tumblr media
And if you find 7, 10 , 21 or 22 in this positions then most probably you will go abroad/ find your partner there .

We should talk about The Lords in Black I'm gonna do that right now because I wanna talk about their trope subversion and symbolism and shit.
So obviously The Lords in Black are a subversion of Cosmic/Eldritch horror and I'm gonna explain how using an ant metaphor
So the classic ant metaphor for cosmic horror is to imagine that you're an ant encountering a piece of human technology, right? I believe it's usually a circuit board. The whole point is you're witnessing something deeply incomprehensible and unfamiliar.
The ant metaphor for the Lords in Black is: imagine you're an ant and a teenager starts burning you with a magnifying glass.
It's still incomprehensible, but not in the way the complexities of a circuit board is. If you were suddenly stricken by a scalding beam of light, the only way you could rationalize that is that it was an act of a god. You and your ant colony would invent and fear this god.
The Lords in Black each represent a kind of strange and inscrutable cruelty that the modern world offers, the cursed lasers that cut into our souls, from places we have no power over.
Wiggly is obviously the idol of capitalism. Animalistic desperation, commodity fetishization, and the exchange of money, products, and emotions. All of the things that the other Lords represent stem from elements of capitalism, hence why Wiggly is THE Lord in Black, the leader of his brothers. What Wiggly offers will never be enough. He is what leaves you always unsatisfied.
Nibbly is the idol of the consumption of human beings as products. Obsession with self image and presentability, trends of all kinds, and the beauty and fitness industries. People in the modern age are desperate to be consumable, and some would go to any lengths to do so. This is an attitude that especially impacts women, who feel that they need to wear make up every day just to earn respect. And when we feel the need to change to be respectable, the need to look appealing and to be consumable, the bourgeois eat well. Our quest to look special makes us like any other customer, filling. It's no mistake that the two leads of Honey Queen are women desperate to be noticed and respected. It makes them all the more eager to be eaten.
Tinky is the idol of infinity and repetition. Dead end jobs, middle class suburbia, and the inability to escape one's circumstances. It's no coincidence that the first time we see Tinky is at a wedding, a ceremony dedicated to eternal commitment, or that he's associated with CCRP, a company in which most of the workers do useless busywork all day. When you look at the life you have ahead of you, it can feel crushing. Will you ever have a real career to be proud of, or will you be stuck at this job until you die? Will you ever not struggle to make rent? Will you really love your spouse forever? What if you don't? Isn't it just easier to continue the routine than to address the problem? After Ted is driven to insanity by the Bastard's Box, after he discovers that he can't escape the person he's become, he becomes homeless, one of the most terrifying eternities a person can find themselves in, fully dependent on random acts of kindness to survive while your situation drives you further into insanity.
Blinky is the idol of the panopticon. Gossip, public drama, and unwanted attention. One of the first things Blinky does on screen is sexually objectify a girl who's fresh out of high school, and this plainly displays a consequence of living in a content driven world. There is constant scrutiny and interpretation given to your every action. At any moment, you could have over a thousand eyes on you, whether you want them there or not. The panopticon we live in captures us in moments of time, and turns the person we were in that moment into an object deserving anger, embarrassment, lust, admiration, judgement, or anything else a watcher might assign. But Blinky also targets another fear, the fear that we feel when we can't see the danger, and cannot protect ourselves or those we love. Alice's anxiety that Deb might cheat on her when she's not around are made manifest in Watcher World, and Bill's frustration at not being let into Alice's life are used against the family. We are inclined to both want and fear the panopticon. We hide, and we seek, and we expose.
Pokey is the idol of tyranny. Complacency, sedation, and obedience. The world revolves around the few and uses the many in service of this. We are all expected to fill some role in service to the rich, to work for a corporation and to buy the products of those corporations, and when we cannot fill these roles we are at risk of starving, or being kicked out of our homes. We must join them in their quest for profit, or die. But we must also accept their pacifiers or we will be driven insane. We must choose between complacency or despair in confronting our place in the world as a pawn, as an ant in the colony. Isn't it easier to accept the comforting lies? Your job is important. Corporations give people what they want. People in power deserve their power. People in power are using it well. We are happy. America is great.
These are the magnifying glasses that are being used to torment us, that we cannot make reason out of, that we've made dark gods out of. But this isn't the first time humanity has encountered scorching light from the heavens. When the people of ancient Greece witnessed burning rods of light, falling viciously from the heavens, they invented Zeus.
But we know where lightning comes from now. We know the science behind electricity and its place in the world. We know what keeps lightning away and what attracts it. We can protect ourselves from it.
But there's an important difference. Lightning is natural. It's existed long before we have and it will continue when we're gone.
The unorthodox cruelty of being alive today is not natural. We cannot logic our way into surviving it because it does not operate under a sound logic. But we can make things a little more bearable by focusing on what is sound, understandable and natural.
There is humanity. There are families friends and lovers who would go to the ends of earth to protect each other. As long as we have this humanity, we have hope.
That's why Miss Holloway's deal with the Lords erases her from living memory after her temporary deaths. To have the powers that she does she gave away the power most important to have under the Lord's rule: human connection. The only real thing we have left.
Alice and Bill escaped Blinky's manipulation through the love they have for each other
Emma survived the longest out of any character in tgwdlm because of the genuine hope Paul gave her of a better future
Lex snapped Tom out of Wiggly's control by reminding him of what his son really means to him
Ted couldn't escape Tinky's plan for him because he was too jaded to make a genuine connection with a woman.
Linda was eaten by Nibbly because she didn't have a loving connection with her father, because her father always made her believe that she was never good enough, because this mindset led her to take for granted the connections she did have in her life.
The world no longer cares about us. We have to care for each other. It's the only thing we have left

summary: Your friend Hongjoong just held a show for his new fashion line and invited you to photograph the event, but one model catches your eye more than any of the clothes on the runway.
pairing: yunho x fem!reader
word count: 4.1k
genre: smut, model!yunho, fashion designer!hongjoong, photographer!reader
warnings: explicit smut minors dni, petnames (baby, love, princess), big dick yunho, semi-public sex???? pretty tame i think, lmk if i should add anything
note: taking a break from we all need love to indulge in my feelings for cosmopolitan yunho oh my GAWD he's so fine.... & i did not proofread sorry for any typos
You've worn many hats since you graduated. Interning at various clothing companies, freelance photography picking up gigs from friends and classmates, and a brief stunt as a journalist. It only makes sense that all your jobs have led to you standing in front of a glowing runway, camera propped and ready for the first model to walk out, people rushing by as they settle into their front row seats.
Not every classmate of yours was doing well in the fashion industry, but one in particular was making waves, if this event was anything to go by. Kim Hongjoong, the designer that came out of nowhere.
You chuckle at the marketing of your old friend. Anyone who knew him would know he was born to design clothes, hell, if you didn't know him you'd only have to take one look at his closet. But in the grand scheme of things, a man's gender inclusive line going viral after only 2 years in the industry is pretty unheard of.
The lights dim and you focus on your camera's digital screen, quadruple checking all your settings. Hongjoong was your biggest client during your freelancing days, and your gig tonight was to capture his show for press. Usually you'd just be doing personal events like weddings or birthdays, but these would be seen be anyone and everyone in the industry. To say you were nervous would be an understatement.
One model after another appears on stage, making their rounds in all types of bold, complex outfits. His work wasn't really your style, you preferred to keep it simple and comfortable, but it's hard to deny its appeal. The models he invited showed the pieces off amazingly, too. They worked on all body types and proportions, which you made sure to capture in every photo.
One man in particular stood out to you as you took every shot you could. He looked more like a traditional model, tall and thin, lean and muscular in all the right places. He could get a job anywhere he tried. The charisma oozing from his face was infectious. A few dark strands of hair fell in front of his rhinestone speckled eyes, which seemed to make eye contact with every single person in the room. His cupid's bow was sharp, and the smirk he sent to your lens in particular had you nearly forgetting to press the shutter release.
"That's a wrap!" A man calls from behind you. The stage lights finally fade and the crowd dissipates, leaving you and a handful of other staff to pack up. You sit on a nearby stool, squinting at the small screen and clicking through your photos. Before you can get very far through your collection, someone taps you on the shoulder.
"After party in an hour babes," Hongjoong chirps next to you, "you're invited. Thanks for the excellent photos tonight."
"You haven't even seen them yet," you chuckle and finish packing up, resolving to get ready for the party despite the exhaustion you feel at the back of your mind.
He smacks your arm playfully before insisting that every photo you've ever taken has been perfect. "By the way, did any of the models catch your eye?"
"Is there a correct answer or do you want my honest thoughts?" You pierce right through your friend's shenanigans. Hongjoong has always been quite the matchmaker among your friends, although you wouldn't call it his most successful hobby. It's almost like he just picks two names out of a hat and decides they would look good together.
He only shakes his head, "I really wanna know! They're all really nice."
You only squint before responding, "Tall guy, dark hair. He was towards the end but he really walked his ass off."
His face lights up immediately and you know you chose the right answer, "Yunho!"
"Yunho," you repeat, "yeah he's nice to look at. I suppose that's his job."
"He's the newest model I've worked with," Hongjoong looks at the runway fondly, "I didn't know if he'd bring anything special to the table at first, but he's truly irresistible."
"And you invited him to the after party and you want us to meet because we'd be such a perfect couple," you stand up, eye to eye with him now, and giggle at the little game he's playing.
"Maybe so... but listen!" You both start walking towards the exit, "I don't want you to fuck him on the first night or anything. Just get to know him, at the very least you'll get a new client. His portfolio is bare bones."
You don't even have time to process what he said before he's slipping away backstage with a quick goodbye. If you were being honest, this Yunho guy probably wouldn't be a bad hookup. You weren't really looking for anything, but he's pretty. And you can't deny good work connections.
You arrive 20 minutes after Hongjoong told you to, fashionably late. You planned to have a drink or two and stick close to him since the small buds of exhaustion have already bloomed into a fullblown headache. No one should have any questions for a random photographer anyway.
"Speak of the devil, there's my right hand woman now!" Your thoughts were immediately proven wrong when you walk in and a small group of models you recognize from the runway stare fondly in your direction. Yunho is one of them, of course, but you try not to think about the words spoken about him just an hour earlier.
"Hi! I'm y/n, we went to school together," you manage a convincing smile as Hongjoong passes you a drink.
"I can't wait to see your photos," one lady gushed, "Hongjoong showed us some of your work and your style is just lovely."
You a manage a small thanks before taking a small sip. The conversation flows into a new topic with ease and you're left in the background to quietly enjoy the party. That is, until you feel a light tap on your shoulder.
"Excuse me," a shy, deep voice floats above you, "you don't seem like you're in a talkative mood, but I had a question for you?"
You look up and Yunho smiles down at you. He looks nothing like he did on stage before; his piercing eyes have morphed into soft, welcoming ones and his charming smirk is replaced by a nervous grin. You nod and take another sip, letting him continue.
"Hongjoong has just mentioned you so much I thought I'd ask if you could take some headshots for me?" He fiddles with his fingers and when your eyes widen he looks away.
"What has he said about me?" You try not to sound accusatory, but it doesn't come across as nicely as you'd like.
"Oh nothing bad! Nothing bad at all," Yunho chuckles, and it might be the nicest sound you've heard at this party so far, "he just wouldn't stop talking about how great you are. I figured I'd take the hint and ask."
You shift from one foot to the other, considering his request before deciding it wouldn't hurt to get to know him more. "Is this your first modeling gig?"
"Just about," there's that chuckle again, and it's contagious, "I've done a few small things here and there, but this was the biggest scale by far."
"You know I won't lower my rates just because you're new," you tease, "or because Hongjoong wants me to."
He just shakes his head profusely, "oh absolutely not! If anything I was gonna offer you more..." you see Yunho think through his sentence as he says it, trailing off after realizing what exactly he said.
"You flatter me, but I'm not in the mood to talk business right now," you swear a slight pout comes across his face before you even get to finish.
He doesn't skip a beat, pulling his phone out of his back pocket and offering it to you, "then why don't we talk later?"
You can only mutter a "smooth" while tapping your number into his contacts. You hand it back to him and watch him type something before feeling a buzz in your own pocket.
"I'll send you some info when I have a moment this week," you try not to stare at his now mischievous smirk, continuing to sip from your empty cup.
"I'll be waiting," he bends down to your height, and his voice lowers to barely above a whisper, "talk to you soon."
He's gone before you know it, disappearing into the crowd, and the brief proximity makes your insides turn in ways you don't want to admit. You have to find Hongjoong.
His bright blue hair stands out near the food bar and you quickly make your way over. The words fly out of your mouth before you even get to him, "what exactly did you say to Yunho?"
He gives you a small huh, clearly tipsier than you are, before a look of recognition washes over his face. "Oh hi love! I didn't say anything, why?"
"He said you kept mentioning me to him?" You would laugh at the state of your friend if it weren't for the sudden desire to know everything Yunho thinks of you already.
"Hm, I only said you're a great at taking photos!" He clings onto your shoulder and laughs, "and that he stood out to you on the runway tonight! He smiled ear to ear when I said that, isn't he so cute?"
"Hongjoong you did not," you grab both of his shoulders and shake him a bit, "does he think I like him or something?"
"Do you?" When you don't respond he just laughs again, "I guess my job is already done."
"I don't even know him!" You wish you could sincerely be mad at the man in front of you, but he's been correct all night so far.
"Don't you want to though?"
"I hate you, seriously," you glare at him, but he only laughs again before returning to his previous conversation. You don't know what he's gotten you into, but you don't think you mind it.
Your workdays have been packed ever since the night of the show. Being Hongjoong's right hand photographer had its perks, like the dozens of offers you've received since the articles went out, but that doesn't mean it isn't the most stressed you've been in weeks. You all but collapse by the time your lunch break rolls around.
Forget about me already?
The light buzz of your phone disrupts your thoughts about scheduling. No one usually texts you, at least not during the day. No one except Yunho.
Sorry! I've been swamped. Let me send you the form my other clients are using to schedule with me.
Aw, no special treatment for your favorite model?
You make a mental note to beat the shit outta Hongjoong for doing this the next time you see him.
Maybe if you give me a good enough offer I'll put you at the top of my list
Not even 10 minutes later, a scheduling request dings on your phone and you see the payment is three times your normal rate for headshots. You mentally curse Joong for putting you in this situation, but you're willing to play the game if it means good dick and good pay.
Am I at the top of your list now? I can't wait to see you
You can't help the way your thighs squeeze together for a moment, now eager to fit him in your schedule (and elsewhere). You wrap up your short lunch with a newfound motivation to get through your emails, making sure to leave a 2 hour slot open for him. You wonder how long you can hold off on getting back to him before he starts begging you. That would have to be a game you play another time.
The studio is empty when you show up, allowing you to quietly set up just the way you want to. Your movements are quick and practiced, dozens of headshot appointments under your belt at this point. These were supposed to be simple and straightforward, so you didn't have much to prepare besides rolling down the white backdrop and setting up your lights. There were a few other props on the side if he wanted to take more shots. You asked a couple people to help out with equipment during the shoot, but you came in early just to have some peace and quiet. Your coworkers arrive a few minutes after you do, exchanging pleasantries before finishing the job you started.
Then he walks in. You're double checking your camera settings when you hear the front door open and his honey-like voice greeting the other staff. You feel his attention shift to you, and when you turn around a playful smirk is plastered on his face. His makeup isn't as dark as it was on the runway, but he looks clean and undoubtedly handsome. His styled hair falls just past his eyes, moving with his lashes every time he blinks. He's pretty, there's no way around it, a type of face that you can't help but stare at.
"Why don't you take a photo, it lasts longer," he snickers, snapping you out of whatever daze he put you in.
"That's my job after all," you motion to a stool in front of the camera, "do you want any props? We can do more than simple headshots if you'd like."
He nods and sits down, long legs crossing each other at the ankle. "I'd love that, miss photographer."
You narrow your eyes at the comment before signaling to the crew you're ready to go. One lady is on standby near the lights, another guy has a handful of reflectors ready. You try to ignore the tension between your model and focus on your craft.
"Can we try the gold?" You call out to your team, closely monitoring Yunho's face in the warmer light. After a moment of thought, you ask him to tilt his head. He's well behaved in front of the camera, following your every suggestion. You wonder if the crew can feel the heavy energy between you two.
After a half hour of posing, shooting, monitoring, retouching, and shooting again, you call for a break and everyone agrees. The couch in the corner of the studio looks so inviting you nearly run to sit down, oblivious to the way Yunho follows.
"You're really good at this," you jump at his voice next to you.
"I went to school for it so I would hope so," you mumble, getting comfortable. You open your phone, hoping to mindlessly scroll before you all come back, but he just plops down next to you.
"Have you ever gotten your own headshots taken?" You shake your head, trying to ignore the way his leg is pressed against yours. "You're so pretty behind that camera, maybe we can switch one day."
You almost bump into his face from how quickly you look up at him, "I'd never let you touch my equipment."
He hums in disapproval before pulling out his own phone and leaning back into the cushions. "Fine, maybe not me. But I don't see why Joong's never put you on the runway. You're stunning."
He expects a reaction from you, but you control yourself, leaning forward to get as much distance as you can. The two of you sit in innocent silence for a while, but the tension only grows thicker. There's five minutes before you shoot for at least another half hour, and when your job is to stare at his face you're not sure you can go much longer.
"What exactly did Hongjoong tell you about me?" You sit up straight, taking a leap of faith.
"About how in love you are with me, why?" You swiftly kick his leg next to you and he chuckles, "he just said I caught your eye. He wasn't lying was he?"
"No, definitely not," you sigh, "but what I don't understand is why you like me?"
"Who said I like you? You just happen to be very pretty and talented and fun to tease."
"So you do like me," you huff in disbelief. Something in you stirs with every word he says and you have to cross your legs for some relief from the building pressure.
"If wanting to take you right now in the middle of your studio means I like you, then sure," his slender fingers trace the back of your shoulders, wrapping a secure arm around you.
"We still have all the props to play with," you scan the studio, but your team is nowhere to be found during the break.
"What if I want to play with you instead?" His breath softly blows across your ear now, voice just barely above a whisper. It takes everything in you to not kiss him right then and there.
"You're the one paying for this timeblock," you pull up your crew group chat on your phone, already making a decision.
"If we could wrap up here that'd be lovely, miss photographer," there goes that stupid nickname again.
"You can't call me anything else?"
"Would you prefer baby? Maybe princess? Or do you like meaner things?" His hand moves again to rest between your shoulder blades as he watches you type out a quick message.
"I would prefer if you shut up honestly," you press send. As far as your team knows, the client is satisfied and wants to end the shoot here for today. No one complains, you're still being paid for two hours thanks to Yunho's generous payment.
"Will you make me?" He traces a small circle with his thumb on your back, and the comment sounds more inviting than teasing. Your body reacts before your mind does, practically throwing yourself onto him out of annoyance and need. His lips are warm and soft and mold perfectly to yours.
He takes a sharp inhale as your tongue swipes past his bottom lip, his hand travelling up to hold the back of your neck. The other abandons his phone to take purchase on your hip, pulling you further on top of him. Yunho groans at the contact, resisting the urge to buck his hips up into you already. His flirting was almost as hard on him as it was on you.
"So needy," you mumble, propping yourself up on his chest to take in the view. His eyes are already blown out from lust, raking your body and letting his hands follow. His long fingers brush over your hardening nipples and you can't help the sigh that escapes.
He chuckles, "you're one to talk." He rolls his hips ever so slightly and you whine, head falling into his shoulder. He feels bigger than average below you and you wonder what you've gotten yourself into. You slowly rock your hips above him with his hands guiding you, whimpering into his skin.
"Can I taste you?" You freeze, head shooting up to stare at him in confusion. He wraps two fingers around your belt loops and tugs you forward again. "Please baby?" You nod and he sighs with relief as if his life depended on eating you out. Maybe it does.
He lays you on your back on a couch far too small for both of you like this, but you don't care. His lips are back on yours, warm and tender, as you feel both your jeans and panties slide down your legs. The cold air makes you flinch.
"Did I make you this wet while I was on the runway, love?" You feel one slender finger slide through your folds, but it's not enough. "Staring at me behind that camera all day must be so hard. I'll make it up to you," is the last thing he says before tucks his head snugly between your thighs.
Whatever snarky reply you came up escapes you with a moan just a bit too loud, his tongue flattening up against your slit. He wastes no time, too desperate to hear you above him. One hand holding you down just below your stomach, another teasing your entrance while his mouth makes quick work of your clit. You hope to the universe none of your crew left anything in the studio because your whines and wetness echoed through the room.
Before you know it he pushes one, then two, fingers into you, filling you up deliciously, and you buck your hips into him. His pace is slow and deep, opening you up to his liking. Some combination of his tongue and fingers nearly makes you scream, hands shooting straight to pull his hair. He groans into your flesh, vibrations sending sparks straight to your core, before looking up at you. His chin is glossy and a line of spit still connects you both and you nearly come at the sight alone.
"You're fucking delicious, darling," he pumps into you one last time before taking them in his mouth, sucking with a pop, "next time you should ride my face for me."
"Next time?" You watch as he unzips his own pants, shoving them down far enough for his dick to escape. It rebounds off his stomach, bigger than anything you've taken before.
"By the way you're staring," he grips himself at the base, "I think you want a next time." The way you lick your lips is involuntary.
He chuckles, quickly unbuttoning his shirt and throwing it on the floor nearby. You continue to stare shamelessly, boosting his ego as you etch his large, toned body into your mind. "Like what you see?"
"If you don't come here and fuck me right now Yunho I swear to god," and you swear you can see his dick twitch, but he simply tuts a finger at you.
"Ah ah ah, safety first princess," he slides a condom out of his pant pocket, ripping it open and handing it to you. You tilt your head and take it reluctantly, but he only smirks, "I know you want to touch me."
"Fuck you," you roll your eyes, sitting up and coming face to face (face to tip?) with his member. You never thought you'd see a dick that you'd describe as pretty, but his is long and thick and flushed a pretty shade of pink. You wrap your free hand around the base and pump a few times to tease him.
"Not now, love," you hear a shaky breath above you and you smirk. He pulls your other hand up and you comply, unravelling the condom smoothly down him. As soon as you're done he pushes you back down, not risking the chance of you testing him again.
"Let me know if it's too much for you baby," he whispers before finally pushing in. The stretch only stings for a second before turning into delight as he fills you up completely.
You sigh out in relief, mumbling a soft "keep going" and wrapping your hands around his neck. He listens immediately, pulling back almost all the way before thrusting back in. He keeps his slow pace until he's completely sure you're comfortable.
He looks down at where you connect before finally losing his composure. "You take me so fucking well," he moans, dropping his head into the crook of your neck, leaving sloppy open mouthed kisses all over you. His pace quickens relentlessly, the sound of skin on skin filling the studio.
You scream at one particularly rough snap of his hips, but he only barely slows down. "You okay, princess?"
"So fucking good," you pant above him, his mouth still ravishing your neck. He groans at your response, fucking you harder than before. You didn't even know it was possible. You snake a hand down to your throbbing clit, so close to coming undone.
"Please come on my dick baby," he all but growls, and the way his hips falter tells you he's close too. His words, on top of everything else, are enough to finally unravel you. You shutter and jerk up into him, moaning some string of fuck's and Yunho's until your mind goes completely blank. He comes shortly after, pumping into you sporadically until he finally flops down on top of you.
You both take a few moments to come back to your senses, nothing but a mess of sweaty limbs on this cramped couch. "Next time I'll take you home so I'll have room to cuddle you after," he chuckles, picking himself up.
"I would like that," you smile softly, legs aching too much to even attempt sitting up. He cleans you both up quietly before plopping back down, letting you stretch your legs across his lap.
"So," his hand traces up your frame to cup your cheek, "can I take you out to dinner sometime, miss photographer?"

The Heart Wants What It Wants

Pairing: mafia!Mingi x fem!reader
AU: mafia au
Word Count: 1.4k
Summary: Mingi lies to his fiancée and keeps the truth about his identity as a mafia boss from her until she agrees to marry him. What happens when she finds out?
A/N: Just a random drabble/oneshot of Mingi as a mafia boss, this is based on a dream that I had of him and it felt too good to not write about.
ATEEZ Masterlist
Tumblr media
Seeing as Mingi was momentarily distracted by all the people around him; presumably his business partners, clients or whatever illegal shit it was that he did with them, she didn't care to know and wanted no part in, she quickly took the chance to make her escape.
In order to ease her movements, her hands immediately flew down to grasp the expensive floor-length velvet dress that he personally hand-picked for her to wear this particular evening.
Her eyes darted around anxiously as she prayed to all the gods she didn't believe in that no one noticed her, she took deep breaths to calm the nerves within. All the while, not forgetting to plaster on a big and fake smile so as to not alert the waiters and bodyguards scattered around the grand hall where her engagement party was currently taking place.
For the longest time, she assumed that her fiancé was nothing more than a successful businessman.
At least, that was what Mingi had wanted her to believe then.
He was only going to keep that façade up until the moment he had her fully wrapped around his fingers, only then would she learn the truth about who he really was. And by then, she would already be too in love with him to even dare think of walking away from him.
Or so he thought.
She knew the truth about his identity now and contrary to his belief, she was going to leave him.
Did she love him still?
Yes, but there was only so much that love can do when you throw a whole lot of gaslighting and deception into the mix.
In the modern dating world, they would have described him as a walking red flag.
The truth is that he was anything but a mere businessman, Mingi was a mafia boss. And not just any mafia boss, he was the biggest and most fearful one in their part of the city.
She had fallen for him, all while thinking he was just a regular businessman working hard to make his name known in the industry.
For the entirety of their relationship, he had presented himself as a successful and upstanding businessman, creating an image of stability and trustworthiness.
She will never forget the sense of betrayal she felt, as the man she thought she knew intimately has been leading a double life.
It made her question everything she believed about their relationship, forcing her to reevaluate their shared past and the authenticity of their connection.
Yes, she loved him but did he truly love her back or was that all just a lie too?
Mixed with the betrayal is a newfound fear for her safety. The realisation that she is entangled with a dangerous criminal adds an element of urgency to her emotional turmoil. She must now navigate the complexities of her emotions while also considering her own well-being and the potential consequences of her association with Mingi.
Too afraid of what he'd do if he found out about her plans to leave him, she did her absolute best to keep up her act and play along as though she was still going to go through with the wedding.
It wasn't hard to pretend like she still loved him because she genuinely did, but what made it difficult was having to act like this new part of him was not at all intimidating to her.
Had she known what this man really did for a living sooner, she never would have said yes to his proposal. She probably never would have allowed herself to grow to love him either.
She lets out a huge sigh of relief once she steps foot out of the luxurious hotel.
Eyes trained on the nearest cab approaching her way, she took a step forward and lifted a hand to call for it, only to feel her heart stop when a familiarly large hand enclosed around hers from behind.
His free hand snaked across her waist to hold onto her body and pull her against him, her frame now completely engulfed in his much bigger one.
She didn't know it would be possible for her heart to flutter and yet, tremble with immense terror at the same time.
"Where do you think you're going, baby? The party's only just beginning, the crowd is missing you. I'm missing you." Mingi whispers sensually, his breath hitting against the skin of her neck as he presses his lips firmly against her jaw.
She exhaled shakily, tears welling up in her eyes and her heart pounding, "Let me go, Mingi. You lied to me, you lied about everything! You're mistaken if you think I'd still stay with you after all of that."
He sighs, hands gripping her shoulders to turn her around to make her face him, "That's not true, I didn't lie about everything. My feelings for you remain true, I do love you and I've never once lied about that."
She lets out a loud scoff in disbelief, "Really? Because last I checked, that's not how you treat someone you love. You don't deceive them and expect them to be okay with it," A tear rolls down her cheek and he immediately catches it with his thumb, wiping it softly, "God, Mingi, I feel like I don't even know you anymore."
He smirks lightly, sliding his hands down to grip her waist instead, "Then stay, baby. Stay and you'll have plenty of time to learn everything about me," One hand cupping her jaw, he gazed deeply into her wet orbs, "You love me, don't you?"
With a defeated huff, she nods her head once and he grins widely at that, "That's all that matters, don't overthink it. You love me and I love you, nothing else matters, remember that."
Mingi closes the distance between them and his fingertips graze the side of her face. His touch is featherlight, a prelude to the intensity that is to come. Her breath hitches as his thumb brushes against her lower lip, a subtle invitation that sends a shiver down her spine.
She hated it, hated the effect that he had on her with a passion.
Time seems to slow as he leans in, their faces drawing near, their eyes fluttering shut in unison. Their lips meet with the softest of brushes, a tantalising tease that leaves them both yearning for more. His lips are warm and velvety against hers and the sensation ignites a fire deep within her.
She decides then that she couldn't bother denying the urge within her, the yearning to have him close despite her righteous beliefs.
His lips mold to hers as if they were always meant to fit together and her own respond with a fervent urgency. The gentle pressure gradually builds, a symphony of sensations that range from tender to urgent, from soft exploration to an overwhelming hunger.
Perhaps she will leave all thoughts of leaving him to a later time.
His hand finds the small of her back, pulling her closer until there's almost no space left between them. The heat of his body seeps through the fabric of their clothes, intensifying the connection between them. No longer able to resist, her arms wrapped around his neck, her fingers threading into his hair, pulling him impossibly closer.
Her actions caused Mingi to smirk against her lips, he knew he had her in the palm of his hand once again.
Their breaths mingle in the small gap between their mouths, the rhythm of their heartbeats syncing as if they were in perfect harmony.
For now, just for now, she'll allow herself to indulge in this pleasure.
As the kiss continues, time loses all meaning. It's as if they exist in their own world, a bubble of intense intimacy where nothing else matters. Not even the people passing by giving them weird looks or the hotel staff standing nearby in hopes of letting them know that the event required their immediate presence.
And then, with a final, lingering press of their mouths, they reluctantly pull away, their lips parting but their foreheads resting together. Their eyes flutter open, and in that shared gaze, they find a reflection of the depth of their emotions.
"I know you're scared and confused now but someday, you'll understand me for all the things that I do." Mingi tells her in his deep voice that she has grown to love so dearly.
Utterly defeated, she relents and nods.
Perhaps her love for Mingi was enough to outweigh her moral compass. She knows it was wrong to be with him but...
The heart wants what it wants.

ASPEN MEADOWS SHOW COMPLEX
INDOOR MODULAR ARENA
Welcome to Aspen Meadows, a three-lot show complex built to meet all your equestrian needs! This is the second of three arena lots I plan to share. Aspen Meadows has been a big project of mine since November and I'm very excited to share it with you now. The Aspen Meadows Outdoor Arena is a 50x40 lot built specifically to be placed on The Ward Den lot in Del Sol Valley. It's an indoor arena with spectator seating & large, expansive windows to let in lots of natural sunlight.
Modular arena, you say? What's a modular arena?
This is a system I've been using to build most of my arenas lately - I place down a room, adjust it to the size I want my arena to be, delete the ceiling, and replace the walls with fences. Since each arena layout is an individual 'room', all I have to do to switch between them is click the room, delete it, and then swap the layout I want into the empty spot. This has allowed me to make multiple configurations of an arena on the same lot, without having to save each lot over and over again. As such, this download comes with tray files for the lot itself, the Dressage Arena, and an empty arena for you to DIY to your heart's content!
This lot is built with items from Horse Ranch, Get Famous, Get Together, Get To Work, Werewolves, My Wedding Stories, and Industrial Loft Kit
All CC is included in the file, but can also be found here:
Arena banners by @buckarooranch
Arena Sand by Pure Winter
Dressage Arena Fence & Marker by @rembrandtdesigns
Florence Bouqet, Colonial Spandrel by @felixandresims
Brownstone Steel Window (Double Medium) by @harrie-cc
Orjanic Barn Doors & Shutters by @felixandresims and @harrie-cc

writing something about work and observations ive made. tws for fatphobia and body image
Fear of being a “fat bride” steals the joy out of the wedding experience and infects even the most body positive bride’s subconscious. I’ve seen brides run out of dressing rooms crying and seen beautiful smiles wither under their owners’ scrutiny. The rubbing of stomachs, the pulling of arms, the lifting of chins: an ancient dance familiar to every fat person who has ever dared to look at themselves in a mirror. These gestures make common appearances in the fitting room areas, so much so you’d think there were instruction manuals taped on the back of the doors. Brides inspect every inch of their reflections for faults, faults that only exist because the wedding industrial complex says they do.  Part of my job sometimes involves becoming a therapist of sorts. It is in its truest sense emotional labor, an undertaking of emotions I can only attempt to pacify and desperately hope to turn to joy. Speaking with brides and doing my job requires me to sit with their insecurities frequently. I do what I can to unburden them of these doubts, but I can’t help but wonder if my job facilitates the manifestation of these insecurities.  At work we only keep the smallest sizes out on the floor for brides to see and feel. Sometimes the smallest size is a 22, but it is incredibly rare. Even as we promote body positivity, brides are surrounded by images of thin models in wedding gowns and thin mannequins on display. While we do have a plus sized mannequin, to my recollection she is a size 16, which is considered the average dress size of a woman in America. Our store doesn't provide them with an image to imagine themselves attached to and then we pick up the pieces of the insecurities we helped propagate. It almost feels like the definition of insanity. Or a marketing strategy.

Hello there. First of all thank you for all the analysis and in depth look into fairy tales.
I stumbled upon a take that was utterly surprising to me about how fairy tales validate women through submissive beauty while the men are portrayed as active and violent and how fairy tales are tools to reinforce gender roles and patriarchy.
And I wonder how did we end up here? I seem to remember you talking about how a lot of fairy tales authors were women, but even in the Grimm brothers fairy tales the women are active, it's not only the men who go through trials.
Anyway I was wondering if you had any thoughts on this?
A most interesting, complex and yet simple question!
Do not be surprised by this take: it has been THE dominating take on fairytales until very recently. It was the big 20th century idea about fairytales - and in fact, it was one of the ideas heralded and massively shared by Jack Zipes in his famous book. This is also partially thanks to him that most Americans share this exact same view. Now we know, thanks to today's research, that this is not as true as people like to think and that this only applies to some fairytales - but the idea that fairytales can actually be subversive, can actually challenge an established society's codes, structure or hierarchy, is in truth fairly recent - or rather has only been accepted fairly recently.
A part of this is definitively Disney. There is no denying that the "Disney fairytale" marked forever popular culture's view of fairytales AND that as a result it inclined a lot of people to look at traditional fairytales under a certain angle. Remember - to make a Disney princess an active character, with the likes or their Rapunzel or Tiana, was seen during the movies' releases as a MASSIVE breakthrough for Disney.
That being said, to well answer this, I think a look at the French literary fairytales can be interesting. (Especially since... it is much more of my domain than the Grimm fairytales for example Xp)
Now Jack Zipes expressed this very theory by talking of Charles Perrault fairytales. In his book he clearly said that, through his stories, Perrault taught girls to be passive damsels waiting to be saved ; and boys to be active heroes. The typical "prince saving the damsel in distress ; knight rescuing the princess in the tower". And on a first, superficial, quick glance... Zipes is right - and many, MANY people read Perrault's fairytales as such.
Indeed, female protagonists of Perrault share a distinct passiveness and earn their happy ending through patience, pleasing people and looking good. Cinderella endures abuse without talking back, only has to look pretty for a prince thanks to an outside interference, and her marriage is what saves her - before she even forgives her wicked stepsisters! Sleeping Beauty spends half of her story sleeping before being saved by the arrival of a prince ; and then the second half she is the helpess victim of the ogress and only is helped by either the butler or the prince. The wife of Bluebeard cannot save herself, it is her brothers that save the day, while in Diamond and Toads the good girl is rewarded for just being nice and helping a poor woman, and it is again through a wedding she gains happiness. Many people also like to invoke the semi-fairytale Griselidis which is... a whole another topic to go into.
Meanwhile the male protagonists are "active", industrious heroes and vanquishers of evil. Puss in Boots is a trickster who hunts animals, actively runs around, and devours an ogre. Little Thumbling also puts together all sorts of plans, actively changes the crowns and nightcaps, steals away the ogre's boots, and once again runs around... The brothers of Bluebeard's protagonists are the big heroes that come in the end to murder the persecutor.
So far, it all seems right... And somewhat, yes, it is true. Because of the context, because of the society, culture and time these stories were written into. In 17th century upper-class France, women were only valuable if they were pretty, if they didn't cause trouble, if they could be good wives or good mothers ; men on the contrary were expected to be sportsmen, warriors, active members of their community or of the government... But as usual with Perrault, nothing is as simple as it is, since there is joke and satire hidden in his texts that many fail to see, and when we look a bit closer at all this, we see hidden behind the apparent dichotomy the traces of a more nuanced take.
Yes, Puss in Boots is an active male character... But the marquis de Carabas is just as passive as another Cinderella or Donkeyskin, as he literaly does NOTHING but look good, obey the cat and follow everybody around. "Puss in Boots" is Cinderella told through the eyes of the supernatural helper - the talking cat is the fairy godmother, who is the one that brings beautiful clothes and meeting with the royals and the seeds of a romance to his passive, useless master. In fact, the "morals" of both stories are eerily similar: Perrault jokes at the end of Cinderella that anything is possible as long as you have a powerful or well-placed godparent ; and Puss in Boots moral is also about how "If you can find the way, you can trick the system, and become a prince when you shouldn't AT ALL". Both stories aren't in the end about someone being rewarded for being pretty or enduring suffering - but simply about having enough hidden resources and trickery to use the very flaws of the system used upon you.
Again, let us take Cinderella. She endures her suffering, according to people, she does nothing for herself, the fairy godmother does everything, and her salvation comes from a prince marrying her... She is pointed out to be so naive she chats with her stepsisters as if everything was normal when she is at the ball. She proves to be the ultimate goody-two-shoes when she forgives her persecutors at the end... And yet, what does the moral point out? That openly forgiving your enemies is the best way to put them in your pocket... because as such they'll be indebted to you, and you forced them into depending on your kindness. The idea of a sly and more cunning Cinderella is also highlighted by the ambiguity of when Cinderella loses her shoe. Perrault writes it so that it is unclear if she loses the shoe by accident... or if she deliberatly drops it. Same cunning with Donkeyskin - she does have on her own the idea of dropping a ring into the cake for the prince, ensuring her marriage with him...
So while the female protagonists of Perrault are definitively NOT active, it does not mean they are dumb or just pretty faces or that they are just rewarded for being "nice". They are intelligent, they know how to go around, there is a certain celebration of the "feminine cunning" if you will. Diamonds and Toads' moral isn't about actually being nice ; it is about learning when to be polite and when to do flattery when needed. Perrault's fairytales truly are about glorifying inventivity, intelligence and tricks. And the "passive character only good at being beautiful and married" does not exclusively apply to women. The marquis de Carabas is a good example, but what about the prince of Sleeping Beauty? All he does is literally... come in. Arrive. And that's it. How does he save Sleeping Beauty from her sleep? He just enters the castle, and suddenly she wakes up, not even a kiss. How does he save his wife from the ogress? He comes in and asks what's going, and everything is solved immediately. The actual heroic force of the tale is the butler, who is the one that saves the day - but again, not by using power, but by using tricks, deceiving the ogress that he cannot possibly fight (ogres embodying brutality and violence). In fact you have no monster-killer or dragon-slayers in Perrault's fairytales - the closest of a monster killer is Puss in Boots, but only because he tricks the ogre into turning into a mouse. Little Thumbling does not defeat the ogre by strength or violence - again it is all tricks and deception... and theft.
Because this is the other side of the "active male character". Yes, male heroes in Perrault's tale are more active than their female counterpart. But are they moral or "deserving" because of it? Certainly not. Puss in Boots lies to a king, threatens poor peasants so they say lies, usurps the castle of its legitimate lord and deceives the king into marrying the princess well under her rank. Similarly, Little Thumbling tricks an ogre into committing an infanticide, steals his boots from him (but so far it is all excused because the victims are the worst kind of ogres) - and then he scams a grieving mother into giving away all her fortune, before becoming a personal messenger for adulterers... And the narrator himself points out the immorality of those actions. Once again, it isn't because the male characters are more active that they are supposed to be praised for it... Perrault's tales are ultimately, deep down, hidden under a fake veneer of politeness and romance and galant things, trickster tales.
But to get that, you need to read carefully the stories and place them back into their proper context, and many people failed to do it in the 19th century, wrote a lot of misinformed texts that influence the people of the 20th century, and Disney was yet another relay of this misconception, and from generation to generation it all piled up... Claiming that Perrault was SUBVERSIVE in the second half of the 20th century was something seen as a genius and fresh take - when in fact it is just... just a truth people had failed to see.
However we can't reduce everything to Perrault. I mean the 19th and 20th centuries did reduce everything to Perrault, but let's see at the mother of the French fairytale, madame d'Aulnoy. Each of the female authors of fairytales had their own take and twist on gender norms and gender stereotypes, but given the scope and influence of madame d'Aulnoy (still felt in the 19th century), we will focus on her.
Madame d'Aulnoy's fairytales ARE the ones from which the idea that a fairytale is a "knight saving a damsel in a tower from a dragon" comes from. And, again, from a quick glance, madame d'Aulnoy seems to perfectly embody the dichotomy of "A heroine has to be patient and pretty and saved and pleasant and passive ; a hero has to be an active, vigorous, strong savior and monster-slayer". Graceful and Percinet? (Also known as Graciosa and Percinet). It is Psyche's myth told all over again. The Yellow Dwarf? A king keeps searching for his missing fiancee trapped away, and confronts all sorts of obstacles in-between. The Benevolent Frog? A prince kills the dragon that wants to eat his future wife, who literaly does nothing throughout the tale. The Doe in the Woods? The princess spends her time locked away, turned into an animal or fleeing, while the prince is a warrior and hunter who actively keeps going around.
And yet, once again, this just a watered-down, simplified, 19th century-glasses on vision of madame d'Aulnoy's fairytales. She had a wild, WILD life that led her to understand being an obedient good girl and passive meant NOTHING (in fact I do plan on making a series of posts about the craziness of these female French fairytale authors) - she conspired to have her abusive husband killed, she had to flee the country to escape authorities, she knew more than anyone that women had to be active to save their skin in life. And all throughout her stories, she kept having strong, active, female characters that broke the "passive mold", and on the contrary men that failed to be the "active ideal". All of it wrapped into the craziness, madness and exhuberant firework of animalistic fairies, enormous giants, multi-headed dragons and other clownish looking wizards, so that it looked less obvious at first glance. The princess of the Yellow Dwarf spends her time attacked by the titular dwarf and locked within his domain waiting for a rescue, but the story begins when she decides on her own to undergo a dangerous and perillous travel to find out what her mother suffers from, while the prince is shown to be quite helpless against the magic of the Fairy of the Desert and needs the magic of the mermaid to escape. In the Benevolent Frog, the prince kills the dragon... But at the very end, after being given all sorts of magical artefacts and an impossible horse, and they do the trick instead of him (similar to the prince's so-called "victory" against Maleficent in Disey's Sleeping Beauty, where it was truly the fairies that did the work) ; meanwhile the princess' father, the king, also proved utterly useless at saving his wife and daughter spending several years just... sitting by the side of a lake ; all the while his wife and daughter had to become amazonian huntresses, and the fairy-frog is shown doing all the behind-the-scenes work of saving everybody, using a lot of resources, and performing hard feats such as going at the top of a long staricase made for giants WITH THE BODY OF A TINY FROG, which is why she spends years doing so.
And many more are the tales breaking the mold! Cunning Cinders? The girl literaly CHOPS OFF an ogress' head with an axe, right after pushing an ogre into the oven - and it was no small feat given the ogre was also a giant. In the Pigeon and the Dove, the first time the giant imprisons the princess, putting her in his bag, she gets out by herself, without anybody's help. The Orange-Tree and the Bee? The princess does all the work - saves the prince, hides him, feeds him, nurse him, takes him away ; while also doing all the heroic and clever feats, tricking the ogres, stealing their magic wand, performing magical transformations. No wonder the final transformation is passive for the prince (the orange-tree) and active for the princess (the bee that stings anybody getting too close to the tree). In fact, the fairytale "La princesse Printanière", (Princess Mayblossom in English), seems to be an explicit and literal deconstruction of the passive-active model: the titular princess acts like a typical "good princess" (following her heart's impulses without thinking about it too much ; giving kindly all her food to her lover on a deserted island), only to be met by the harshest of realities (following an unknown pretty boy around is not good, and her lover is a selfish and brutal jerk). She only can escape the bad situation she created for herself by STABBING HER EVIL LOVER IN THE EYE, and then she is greeted by the positive sight of her fairy godmother in a war attire, beating the crap out of the wicked fairy of the story in a celestial duel. In fact, this tale contains a double message about women being active to change their life, because before her "passive episode" on the Island of Squirrels that gives her all sorts of misery, she is active, oh yes. She forces the random boy she just met to follow him, and she plans a whole escape at night - because, like an active character, she wants to determine her life, she wants to just do as she pleases, she show who's in charge... But this is proven bad because as it turns out acting impulsively and harshly without prudence or thought - taking away the hand of the first pretty boy that passes, fleeing rashly at night on a whim without preparing any substantial thing - only leads to disaster and misery (being stuck on a deserted island with an abusive companion). And this is opposed to the good "activity" in the end, one thought about and that is a just reaction to the situation, or well-equiped for handling its problem - the princess killing her would-be-murderer ; the good fairy getting a chariot, weapons and an armor to destroy the old, wicked, rusty Carabosse.
This all comes very clearly and strongly in d'Aulnoy's fairytales - if Perrault wasn't so much about gender as he was about tricks, cunning and cheating the system with well-placed connections ; madame d'Aulnoy clearly had some ideas of how women should learn to be active queens, great warriors, trained travellers, well-equiped survivors and, if need there is, monster slayers. Is it then a wonder that when the authorities and minds of the 19th century took a good look at fairytales, they decided that madame d'Aulnoy should be erased in favor of Perrault, where the ideal female models are a girl sleeping a thousand year, another girl that gets hit without answering back, a princess that becomes a cleaning-girl and a cook good ; or even a nice girl with big diamonds?
What happened? In the case of French fairytales: this. First all the openly subversive authors were pushed aside and buried in oblivion ; then the more subtle ones had their tales oversimplified or read the wrong way until it entered a mold they were not supposed to fit. Madame d'Aulnoy was forgotten, and people took Perrault's jokes seriously.

i started with my go-to simlicy save, so most of the residential lots and many of the community lots are by simlicy. i agonized over lot placement and number of each type of lot; i only ever play one family so it makes sense for me to have fewer residential lots and tons of community lots. i'm missing a lot of packs so this is pretty carefully curated to fit with what i do have (i'm used to replacing wallpaper and some furniture for most gallery builds but if it's missing much more than that I try a different lot). i love community lots that a) have things for sims to do and b) look pretty. all of these fit and i highly recommend every single one!!

Prompt 59for sambucky!
Send me Prompts!
The last on in my inbox! I am so sorry this took me forever. And also sorry because heads up this is Divorce Era™ content.
“I’m in Nola right now,” Sam said, from the back of a taxi in Washington, DC.
He regretted the lie, but this meeting with Ross was beyond secret. Sam did not like the man one bit, but he wasn’t an idiot. You stick to the rules as best you can when the guy telling what to do owns the DOJ.
Or at least, you do until they give you no choice. But Sam wasn’t in the mood to commit treason… again… at least not this week.
“What about you, you still in DC?” He asked through the phone.
“Nah, New York.”
The taxi moved forward a few feet, then stopped in traffic again. It had taken them five minutes just to travel half a block, which sucked, although it had given Sam a good long time to look at the coffee shop over the road, and the chairs and tables outside of it. Sitting at one of those tables was Bucky.
“...came home last night, actually,” Bucky continued and Sam could swear he could make out his mouth forming the shape of the words from where he was sitting.
The thing is, Bucky had called him. He started this. Did he call him just to lie to him?
“How’ve you been, you good?” Bucky asked.
“Yeah, good. I’m fine,” Sam lied again. “Things are good.”
Things were not good. How could they be when Sam was stuck in gridlocked traffic, probably running late for a coerced meeting with the goddamn president, and was inexplicably on the phone with his ex making small talk while they both lied about their whereabouts.
“How about you?” He asked, instead of any of the questions he wanted to ask (such as, “why did you call me?” and “the fuck is your problem?”).
“Can’t complain.”
Now that sounded like a lie, like he wasn’t even trying to sound happy. He looked a mess too, not that Sam felt good for thinking it. His suit looked awful, and he needed a haircut. He looked tired too, as much as Sam could make out over this distance.
Sam wondered if he missed him.
Because he missed Bucky, despite everything. Especially right now. For all Bucky would pout and glare and probably make the situation worse - for all the ways that Bucky’s skill set was not remotely suited to this kind of situation (navigating the ins and outs of the US military industrial complex) - Sam knew he would feel better if he was sitting there next to him.
Not that he’d ever admit that.
“I was thinking,” Bucky began.
The taxi lurched forward again and Sam had to turn in his seat. He could still see Bucky through the back window. The driver threw him a look in the rearview mirror.
“I was thinking I could come down to Louisiana at some point.”
Oh? He was seriously trying it on again?
“Just as friends,” Bucky added, and Sam didn’t really believe him.
The taxi started moving in earnest and Sam got one final glimpse of Bucky before they turned the corner, too far to really read anything in his face.
Sam turned back to face the front, rubbing at the crick in his neck.
“I’ve got plans this weekend,” he said, which was sort-of true. He suspected this Ross thing would take up his time for a few days at least. The next part was another lie, though. “And next week, we’ve got to to this wedding, one of Cass and AJ’s cousins on their dad’s side.”
“Oh.”
“Raincheck?”
“Yeah, I’d… I’d really like to see you. I’m just so busy right now.”
Busy, evidently, with things he either wouldn’t or couldn’t tell Sam about. Sam knew it would be hypocritical to be mad at him for it. Besides, he had enough valid reasons to be mad at him outside of the secrecy and/or lies.
“Sam?”
“Yeah.” Sam swallowed, something ugly and painful caught in his throat. “Yeah, I’d love to see you too, I just don’t know if I can.”
“We’ll find time.”
“No, I mean…”
He meant he didn’t know if he could bear it.
“Look, I gotta go,” he said, instead.
