OC Songs (well, not really, but close enough)

@furbyq tagged me (thank you!) and since I don't really have OCs other than my sims that aren't based on characters, she suggested I do it for my Deception IV character playlists! I'll be doing ship songs as well.

Much of my vision of the game's characters are my own, as the plots (there are two, Laegrinna's and Velguirie's stories) are secondary and considered forgettable, which is a shame because I found them as enjoyable as the gameplay. The way I've developed their personalities probably makes no sense to the few other fans and would be considered wildly out-of-character, but tbh I don't give a shit because it brings me joy, and with no fandom, there's no drama. (Hopefully).

Characters:

Ice Queen by Within Temptation: this has always been my favorite song by them but I came to associate it with Laegrinna. She is ruthless and cold for the most part canonically, however I think there's more to her than that and I'll get to that later.

Queen of the Night by Whitney Houston: This is, without a doubt, Velguirie's theme song. "I've got more than enough to make you drop to your knees," "They say I'm trouble and I don't give a damn," the lyrics pretty much speak for themselves. They don't call her the Nightmare Princess for nothing.

Shine On Me by Chris Dane Owens: This sounds like a hero's theme song and Zeno Shin is a self-proclaimed hero and big dumb idiot. Also, if you know me you're likely aware Laegrinna/Zeno is my OTP and it evokes the way I imagine him being awestruck by her. She is the Dark Side Princess but she is his light.

Who's That Girl by Madonna - Okay, so hear me out. Whereas Velguirie is entirely fire and I love her for that, Laegrinna is ice AND fire. You don't see that often because while she uses it to her advantage, she won't admit it. Kind of related to the last song it's about falling under the inescapable spell of a captivating woman. Which again is how I envision her effect on Zeno but may or may not also be something more personal.

Ships:

Latch by Disclosure ft Sam Smith: This has been one of my favorite songs since it came out well before I played Deception IV, but now in my mind it's about how Laegrinna and Zeno are drawn to each other and the metaphors are right on for a game where the main goal is using traps on enemies. (Zeno is a major enemy, by the way. You defeat him, which means yes, Laegrinna canonically kills him. But that's what AUs are for, and I'm a sucker for enemies-to-lovers).

Sleeping Dogs by Merril Bainbridge: A song I've known since high school, holy shit that was 25+ years ago now?? 💀 Another one full of metaphors - Laegrinna and Zeno drive each other crazy, but they DRIVE EACH OTHER CRAZY. Somehow, even though I always thought I hated the tsundere trope, it suits Laegrinna in my head. She doesn't want to be attracted to him but she can't resist him.

Shadows of the Night by Pat Benatar: Although I don't think they meet in canon because Evelyn is from Laegrinna's story and I didn't get very far in quest mode (I watched my husband finish it but that was forever ago) I think Velguirie and Evelyn are perfect for each other. "Surrender all your dreams to me tonight" is the line that hit me, like I said Velguirie is the Nightmare Princess, and I'm not going into detail but let's just say Evelyn is quite keen on surrendering 😂 I haven't thought of any other songs for them yet but I hope to, they're a really fun pairing and I love them.

Hey wow, thanks for the message! I actually had to think about this one quite a bit. I'm not always the biggest fan of my own work, but in recent years I have published a few fics that I ended up liking. These... might be in some particular order? Eh, I dunno! Anyway, here goes:

5.) "It's Up To You" (Portal). The one where Doug Rattmann is trying to repair Grady. This is the last Portal fic I did and probably ever will do (though, never say never, right?). I'm not sure why I envisioned Doug as a fan of Ricky Nelson but it kinda works. Like the rest of my Portal stories, I put a lot of heart into this one, but in the end it felt like a bit of a waste. Oh well, I still like how it turned out.

4.) "Fish is Also a Four-Letter Word" (Gensou Suikoden II). It's sort of a screwball comedy where Jillia kind of asks Klaus to use his strategist super-powers to kill her brother. This was one of those magic stories where it all just brilliantly came together in a matter of days, footnotes and all. Rarer still, it's a story I can re-read and go "oh, that was cute", without cringing!

3.) "Malus" (Soul Blazer). The tiny fic in the tiny fandom that could! The first story I've ever done that was narrated by a goat. It's such a sweet and gentle tale, and I still think this setting is really interesting. There are not a lot of fics for this old SNES game, but I guess it is kind of a niche title. I got about halfway through a follow-up (narrated by a dormouse) so maybe I'll finish that one some time too...

2.) "A Difficult Business" (FF14). Originally a shitpost on Tumblr, which should tell you everything you need to know, if you don't want to actually read the fic summary. It's the one where Y'shtola bribes Nero Scaeva to deep fry Nidhogg's eyeballs in the fry vat at the Husting Strip Galleria food court's Ol’ Mistbeard Fish ‘n Chips.

1.) "Mog House" (FF14). In here, there is only Mog. And House. Huh, this one also involves Nero in some manner of bribery (only this time he's the one doing the bribing).

Ironically (?), my actual #1 pick isn't something that I can link to because it hasn't been published anywhere yet! It's called "Ancient History" and it's a 16-chapter work of Ultima VII (Serpent Isle) fanfic that's going up on my Neocities. For whatever reason, I made the boneheaded decision that it would be the FIRST thing to go up on my website, along with a complete (read: way too verbose) timeline and character profiles and little pictures, the works! All of this is still under construction, HOWEVER the bulk of the actual writing/markup of it is DONE and has been for some time. It's really just down to the getting the formatting just right, plus some light revision and last-minute edits.

Oh yeah! I still need to write the epilogue. Hah!

Unfortunately, it looks like Dawntrail got in the way as it's currently taking up my "writing" time slot. 😅 However, I'm also making my way to the end of all that so I expect I can get back into finishing my website pretty soon as well.

It's something I don't really expect people to be interested in so I'm not putting this story on AO3 or anything like that. I'm really proud of the work I put into the website and the story and the little AU world I crafted around it, but in the end, it's something I did just for me. 😛

MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE GARRISON (x)

My name is Anima Nightmate, and I go by ze/zir or they/them pronouns. I’m not sure I have a favourite Musketeer, but I do massively over-identify most consistently with Athos and Constance, so make of that what you will. I found the show on Netflix shortly after it first came out there, and had the shock of my life when I realised that a) they’d properly updated the story and delivery, b) I really enjoyed it, c) one of my acquaintances played the hapless Red Guard who gets distracted by Constance’s metaphors. Then Netflix went wrong on our device and for one reason and another I didn’t start watching again until 2018, whereupon I swiftly became obsessed, and started writing fanfic from the beginning of season 2 onward.

I write a fair amount of fanfic for the show, but I also now make podfics and draw fanart. I got into AO3 for Reasons, then from there got into Tumblr (something about another fan’s homecrafting and socks?) and from there found the discord server in its early incarnation. I now help to run its current iteration and, if “obsessive levels of research about the era” count as an engagement with/ expansion of fandom, then add that to the list too.

My main Musketeers-flavoured blog is @animanightmate on Tumblr, but I also reblog a fair amount of other stuff that makes me go ooh. If I haven’t reblogged your thing it’s probably because I’m working out how to create a decent image description of it.

Hi there! I am Nin, Lover of Languages, Bringer of Chaos and Swashing the Buckle. She/her, though any pronouns work.

My fav musketeer and the one with whom I identify the most is Athos, and my favourite episode could be any of Season 1 or 2; really, I adore them all– though Season 2 is my absolute favourite. I watched the series when it came out but never interacted with the fandom (or at least, the English side of it) until recently, though I’ve been known to play and write Athos on and off in various RPG campaigns for years; being a nineties babe, my first introduction to Dumas’s story were The Muskehounds.

I do write (though I mainly daydream about my fics and then, though they’re mentally written, it takes me ages to actually type the stuff), I hardly ever draw, but I love to do some manips when I have the time. Count reading obscure stuff about the era and then babbling enthusiastically about it among my hobbies, though most of the time I just read and enjoy other people’s approach to this fandom, and flail helplessly at their talent.

I made my little header, and I put the quote “And then the most amazing thing happened: I became myself in front of you, and you didn’t turn away” and I feel like that’s my relationship with BTS.

- Well, when I made this account back in 2017 (to feed myself BTS contents) I used to be a die-hard fan of an actor called Surya! and being new to tumblr I didn't have much idea so I just mixed his name with mine! and tadaa! Suryanwesha was born! But then I fully drowned in BTS but I didn't really wanted to change the username bcs I am a person who feeds on nostalgia and memories, so I kept his name even though I am not that invested in him anymore...

- Not long. Since 2017

I was tagged by @pterawaters ! Most of these are fanfic (which, wow I wrote several fanfic this year alone 🤯) but one of them is a quick blog post because why not?

1. It's a Guessing Game (aka the stoncy band au), fanfic, Stranger Things, Steve/Nancy/Jonathan (stoncy)

So let's start with this one since it's my latest posted fanfic and my most popular one. Which, wow, what a welcome surprise ❤️. Fun fact, "the stoncy band au" was supposed to be a temporary name that I only used for my google doc. But I grew attached to it even after I figured out (and loved) the "real" fanfic title so I tacked it on to the end. This one was fun to write because I got to include all sorts of generalized fandom jokes and memes. I also included written out scenes (even though that & the articles were where my hypercritical self editor screamed at me the most lol) because even when I enjoy fanfic written via social media or texts, I'm always a bit hungry for some prose to go along with it. Figuring out how to represent twitter and instagram through text was super fun though. And I think I sort of predicted the November 5th tumblr chaos when I included the username "dashcon2020" in the fic 😜 Oh! And the thirst tweets! I love that series on Buzzfeed and I knew right away I wanted that to be part of the fic. I got as dirty as I could which means that tweets I did come up with were tame in comparison to actual thirst tweets I've seen. Whoops.

2. And After...?, fanfic, Once Upon a Time, Alice/Robin (CuriousArcher)

The reason I kept watching season 7! I have mixed feelings about Once Upon a Time but these two were highlights of the show. They only got less than a season but they were gold. This one took half a year to write (I'm a slow writer and super critical of what I do write) but I love it. The title is perfect (which is a Thing because I hate 99% of my story titles) and the end scene where Alice & Robin snuggle up in bed together and totes in love? So proud of that dialogue.

3. Sharing is Caring, fanfic, Stranger Things, platonic Robin & Steve

This was for comfortween even though I only ended up writing two fics for that challenge. Steve & Robin friendship fics were my intro to Stranger Things fanfic (and stoncy lol). My favorite part was adding anecdotes about Steve's neglectful parents. It's a short fic and maybe if I actually watched The Apartment instead of relying on Wikipedia & reviews, I could have really fleshed out the fic. But I think I got what I wanted out of the fic: Robin & Steve being besties & caring about each other. Also, if Steve & Robin having movie nights isn't canon in season 4, I will riot.

4. Treating a Sunburn, fanfic, Haven, Nathan/Audrey/Duke (Three Gulls)

My first Haven fanfic! I haven't written any Haven fanfic before (but when I was really into the show, I had tons of ideas). I did however, read most of the fanfic in the Nathan/Audrey/Duke tag. It's not an OT3 I was into when the show was airing but one day I thought, what if the love triangle was an OT3 & then I found a treasure trove of fics. Also Nathan & Duke touch each other a lot despite arguing & threatening to kill each other a lot. Which is partly what this short fic focuses on? Duke gets really close to Nathan's face & Nathan is only a little confused by it? I tried play up that bit but I feel like it got lost in rest of the fic. But anyways, I got to write fic for an OT3 I love & it didn't turn out too bad.

5. My shitpost/meta about Batwoman, the TV series

Okay so it was toss up between this post and a different shitpost I made about the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. But that post implied Kate Kane would play an active role in the future arrowverse and now she won't which makes me sad. But this is my humor in a nutshell. And if the writers didn't intend to make that parallel, I'll be shocked because it works so well. Especially since Batwoman's crossover episode only got to use two characters from their show.

Since I'm curious, what caused you to become very possessive of your gifs? Not out of rudeness but curious, since no matter what you do a lot of them show up in the gif function on Tumblr which automatically credits you at the bottom of the gif.

Hey. Tbh, at first I didn’t wanna bother with yet another anon but since I see no ill intent behind this, I decided to go and answer it. Unfortunately, half-way through I realised my reply is turning into incredibly long semi-bitter rant and expands well beyond calling out just one person in Psychonauts fandom (and yes, this is related to Psychonauts fandom – you do know that these anons are not really that anonymous, right?) so… buckle up! All that beneath “read more”.

I’ve been on this hellsite for like…7-8 years? Maybe more? Can’t really tell cause I moved blogs and my old blog now consists of only 4 posts I’ve made close to leaving so I honestly have no idea how much time I’ve spend here before moving. Anyway, during those few years I’ve spent on my first blog I’ve met a lot of creative gifmakers who enjoyed sharing their love for fandoms they were in. I’d like to point out that this was waaaaay before tumblr created that insert-gif option so, back in the day, the only way to add gifs to your post was to: 1. make them yourself 2. take them from someone else. And a lot of people were taking them from someone else which resulted in many gifmakers giving up on making gifs and leaving fandoms and/or even leaving tumblr – and I’ve had many of my friends give up on what they love and have their games/shows/movies/whatnot ruined for them cause people would not stop stealing from them. And many of my friends eventually left tumblr cause they couldn’t deal with it anymore.

Tumblr adding insert-gif option, in my opinion, honestly, just made it worse for gifmakers. Cause now people had the opportunity to use gifs for their posts, with or without creators’ permission/knowledge, but it was alright and it was perfectly fine cause creators were credited. There’s their name at the bottom. It’s alright. Like… it doesn’t matter if they’re actually okay with people using something they’ve put hours into making or if they’re not – tumblr gives them credit so they SHOULD be okay with it. Simple as that.

Well, we’re all different and some people are not okay with that. I’m not okay with that. It took me weeks to figure out how to use photoshop correctly. Took me countless hours of looking through different tutorials and basically trial-and-error-ing my way through the process. Whenever I make gifs, it takes me hours to record videos and then hours trying to achieve that 3mb limit on gifs (thank lord these days we’re beyond 1mb limit). After all that effort I put into creating gifs for games that I love and enjoy, someone is going to make 2 clicks and have that same gif added to their post, without even asking. So how is that okay?

Back to your question. Yes, “no matter what you do a lot of them show up in the gif function on Tumblr”, that is true and that is something I was aware of when I saw you-know-who announcing they would be starting 30 days Psychonauts challenge. So, hating to see my gifs used against my will, and not wanting to start any unnecessary drama and threaten people in advance with reporting them if they do use them, I’ve made my blog as private as I could. It was only accessible through the dashboard, it was not showing in ANY search engines inside and outside tumblr, and my gifs were impossible to find through insert-gif function – I’ve made sure. I did all that cause I just knew that during those 30 days, someone would use my gifs and I would get mad and I desperately wanted to avoid that (hence going extreme). And you know what happened? You know what creator of this challenge (who prevously already reposted my gifs) did? *drums* They used my shit anyway. :3 They just uploaded it from their computer, where they’ve saved it earlier.

And like… a lot of people see pretty pic and decide to save it - I mean, we all do that. Heck, even I have a folder full of shit I saw online and liked it – but i’m not uploading it online cause I haven’t made it. It’s not mine to share.

But some people are not like that.

Some people see fanart of something they like and they want to share their opinion on it – and instead of making their own post, maybe drawing the fanart themselves, they decide to use someone else’s art for their post. Do they know who made it? Do they have creator’s permission to share it? If the answer is NO, then they should be a decent human being and not do that to creators. Oh, they shared it anyway but now people in fandom are calling them out BUT this actually happened on accident? They know who the creator is but, somehow, they accidentally forgot to credit them? OK, well, it’s possible, shit happens, but they better make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Then sometime later these same people decide they want to make a post appreciating their fav character and they want to include pics cause duh, you can’t have character appreciation post without pics, right? Now they have several options: they can get their own screenshots, make their own gifs, maybe draw something… or they can just take someone else’s creation. Do they know who made it? Well there’s my fuckin name on it, and since they’ve stretched it from 245 to 500px, it’s really hard to miss, plus it’s not like there are that many people making Psychonauts gifs. Do they have permission to share it? Hmmm, nope, didn’t ask me. Is this also an accident? Could be. I mean, I’ve seen stranger things happen, so accidentally forgetting to credit content creators twice… kinda suspicious but still possible. Who am I to say?

Now if these people then decide to make a post appreciating their fav ship and they want to add a cute pic of the loving couple – yup, you guessed it! They can either create something or take something. Again: they know who did? They asked for permission? Got the permission? No?!?! But they posted it anyway?!?! :o Could it really be, that after being called out publicly, after being told that reposting is bad (something that’s very easy to understand), after even having tumblr staff intervene and remove stolen shit from their blog, after all that - could it really still be an accident?

Nah, man.

They just don’t give a shit.

Cause if they did, they’d stop with that crap first time they were called out.

(and if you think Psychonauts fandom is their only fandom and that they’re not doing this crap in other fandoms too - hoooo, boy, do I have some bad news for you! Do you know how many stolen and butchered HP fanart is on their blog? Hobbit stuff? They seem to be one of the most accident-prone users on tumblr. And honestly - it’s a real miracle their blog’s not been terminated.)

Back to what I was talking about - I’m not okay with people using my gifs and I’ve made it very clear. I literally do not give a shit if I’m credited or not, I’ve made it very clear that I don’t want my gifs used without my permission. If you like them and want them on your blog, there’s a fuckin reblog button. It’s sole purpose is to allow you to share other people’s creations. Or shitposts, cause lord knows we all love those.

So that’s why when someone spends hours going through my Psychonauts tag and goes as far as to send me “I love your gifs” anonymous message, but the very next day makes stim moodboard post including one of my gifs, now cut and resized to fit 3x3 format they’re going with, I get mad. And that’s why when someone uses one of my gifs to promote their RP blog, butchering it to fit their aesthetics, and later when confronted going as far as blaming their good friend on it cause god! they’ve had no idea it wasn’t theirs, I get mad. (makes you wonder though: if they friend has such skills, why not making them gifs themselves?)

Like…. I’ve had my gifs stolen plenty of times. I’ve had them stolen for roleplaying, for headers, for imagines, just for notes… I’ve had them stolen by people claiming to run official fan sites (that’s a real wild story but I won’t get into that now)… I’ve seen them on pinterest, weheartit, FB, all those random gif sites… and I’ve seen EVERY. POSSIBLE. EXCUSE. ranging from: “well i found it on google so why should i credit you” “lol dunno who made this but its pretty so im posting it” “ive had it on my computer for years so i don’t remember where i got it from” “i dont know how to make gifs so im using weheartit as a source” “credit to whoever made this” (that’s my fav) to “its just a gif so who gives a shit” (it’s not – it’s hours of creator’s time and lots of love that you��re now shitting on so thanks) and “i have an /illness/ and getting notes makes me feel better so dont u dare blame me for stealing” (I don’t remember exact excuse but it was something along those lines and like… how do you even respond to something that without looking like an asshole?).

And sometimes it really is just an accident. Sometimes people really do forget to credit you and/or ask you for permission. And I’ve had my fair share of those accidents. People in Psychonauts fandom have been using my gifs for various crap but, when approached, they’ve removed it and apologised. And it’s something I really appreciate. (if they actually bother reading this and they recognise themselves: i’m really grateful and thank you for not being an ass)

But you know what I don’t appreciate? People making a call out posts about me, asking about my gifs when they know very well they’re the main reasons why I’m not making those gifs anymore, at the same time failing to address any of the issues I have with them and instead rather explaining to others what happened BUT explaining only the parts that make me look like a villain cause how I even dare be mad about them stealing? How I even dare call them out on it? That is so ridiculous and criminal of me, and it’s so so sooooo bad that they need to call me out. I deserve to be called out by the very same person who’s been stealing my shit.

And their explanation is…well… it’s something.

They were sympathetic and polite? When did this happen? Did I completely missed that part? Please someone fuckin enlighten me with such post/message where they expressed their sympathy and politeness and I’ll apologise right this second.

I told them to “literally fuck off”? Yeah, that did happen, I admit that. Did they bother explaining why I told them to fuck off in the first place? Did they say they were caught stealing from me and had tumblr stuff remove my shit from their blog? Did they get into details of how they demanded the proof of my so very wild and obviously false claims but then when I showed it, they just deleted that “how dare u call me out cause I would never do such thing” post? No, they didn’t and geee, I really wonder why.

Instead, what did they choose to address? Out of all the things I’ve said. Hm? What did they choose? Me telling them to fuck off. Me dropping the F-bomb on them, rudely rejecting their obvious kindness and politeness. Nothing else.

Back to what I was talking about before I got derailed again: no, I’m not mad cause this person used my gifs without crediting me. I mean – I am, but that’s not my main issue with them (and they know it). My main issue is that this is someone who will continuously lie and steal and still deny any of it, even when there’s plenty of proof (and you can always count on me to show up with proof tbh), and then go as far as to publicly ask about my gifs and try to call me out. Like me getting mad that something I’ve put hours of work into, and something I’ve made cause I love the game and I want to share my love and appreciation for it, is now being shared against my will and my knowledge - like me getting mad over something like that is so unreasonable that they need to make an entire post about it while pretending they have absolutely no idea why I’m even mad and why we have issues.

And I have every fucking right to be mad. 3 times is not an accident. 2 times to the same person is not an accident. They know it. But yeah, playing stupid is their defense so it’s not like I expected them to actually address their actions this time either.

And you know what? Just because I swear a lot doesn’t mean I’m wrong. Doesn’t mean there’s no solid ground for my claims. People on tumblr have always been and always will be stealing shit. Sometimes they will credit you, often they will not, and that’s just how it is, doesn’t matter if you’re okay with it or not. But that doesn’t mean I’m just gonna sit quiet and accept someone’s shitty behaviour. Especially when it’s directed at me.

lol jk here’s my real, long-winded explanation:

well um, i feel like they kind of go hand in hand in a way?? like, i feel like no one would really find my stuff on ao3 if i didn’t link to it constantly on tumblr lol. 

so i guess step one is getting yourself some tumblr followers. and i’d say the key to that is 1) following other people and 2) posting a lot of some kind of easily-consumable content.

i’m not saying to follow massive amounts of other people at random, but it helps to follow a lot of other blogs who share your interests and who seem like cool people, and a lot of the time people tend to follow back (plus, more importantly, you can make new friends!). 

when i say “easily-consumable content” i mean things that people can look at and reblog in the span of like 30 seconds––so like edits, art, gifs, etc. or if you’re me and you have very little artistic/graphic design ability……shitposting. like listen i don’t shitpost simply for the sake of gaining followers (ok, maybe i have on occasion) but i’ve found that shitposting gains the most attention and has the highest potential of bringing in new followers. 

i’m gonna be honest it’s like super hard to “brand” yourself as a writer, because unlike say a visual artist it’s more challenging for people to immediately recognize your style. that and your content takes a lot more time to consume than, say, someone seeing a beautiful piece of fan art and reblogging it in the span of a few seconds. (and mind you i’m not saying a fan artist is easy either because it’s not lol… it takes just as much time and can be just as frustrating, just that the end product typically takes less time for the audience to consume if that makes sense.)

i guess what i’m saying is that if you’re a writer it’s a lot easier to already have a following and then be like “oh hey look i wrote a fic” because those people are already following you and/or kind of know you so they’ll be more likely to check it out. which is why i recommended the above … if you consistently post content that catches people’s attention (quickly) then you’re already building up an audience. 

as for bringing attention to your fics: first of all ao3 has a pretty extensive tagging system so i recommend making use of that (not only for people who go through tags, but also because if someone opens the fic they have a quick and easy way to see if the fic will interest them). also just…self-promo a shit-ton. if you follow me you probably know that i self-reblog like crazy, because 1) it’s really hard for fics to get notes on here lol, 2) people are from all diff time zones and whatnot so reblogging your own content at various intervals might help to broaden your audience. 

imo it’s not really about writing a certain way necessarily (although ngl, ship content gets way more attention than gen content, also shorter/oneshot fics tend to get way more attention than multichap/longer fics). personally i just write the things that make me happy and people reading it is an added bonus (well and also i crave validation). 

tl;dr - shitpost a lot and then force your captive audience to read your fics lmao

...it was honestly kind of a terrifying experience 😂 In large part because I got some things wrong in the original post and regretted not testing / researching it more thoroughly first 🙈

I have no idea... that sounds like it involves counting. Probably not very many, though. I decided early on that I wouldn't do the automatic mutual follow, both to carefully tailor what I see on my dash as well as to avoid getting myself mired in the 'but I followed them why didn't they follow me' sulks.

345 👀 Which kind of astounds me, but I'm not complaining 😂 I just always hope people read my header blurb and/or my pinned tagging system post so they know what they're getting into before a random niche kink post shows up in their feed one day 😅

79. I suffer from terrible FOMO (fear of missing out), and I actually have to be really careful - when I follow too many tumblrs I get stuck for way too long, multiple times a day, frantically scrolling to catch up every last new post on my dash. It's... not great 🙈😬

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I joined the SPN fandom on twitter first. I started interacting with other fans & met a group of samgirls I had daily convo with. We replied to each other tweets using existing gifs and then I started making my own cause my online friends asked me too and I needed a place to post them and tumblr seemed like the better place to do so. One thing leading to another I also started to create graphics & make icons & headers cause I couldn't find ones that really fitted my mood. And here I am, 7 years later :)

6. Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

I'm a fan of both Jensen Ackles & Jared Padalecki and I'm following both their careers : Walker & The Boys (even if I won't be very active in The Boys fandom for reasons)

7. Why did you choose your header?

Because JARED PADALECKI SHIRTLESS GIVES ME LIFE (and I'm a sucker for the conspiracy nipples™ so there's that)

My expectation vs reality gag reel from episode Tombstone with 8676 notes :)

I was very impressed to hit 19k this year! That's so cool !

229 for now. Mostly SPN but also captive prince & resource blogs

Yeah, several. Mostly making fun of hellers. I try to keep my blog free of drama tho. Cause what's the point? I'm too busy fingerling with all that new J2 content anyway.

Depends on how much I'm working but I usually spend a lot of time here. Tumblr is my fav' platform. It's way easier to avoid drama and hateful post here compared to twitter.

14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?

Yeah, more than once. And I'm not really proud of it. Tho I've always never called anyone names. I mostly argue with people reposting gifs, art & con picture on tumblr without any link to the original source. It's very annoying. If you wanna have a blog, then make your own content.

I will indulge if I like your post, maybe, but otherwise, n o p e

Yeah I think it's fun !

1. Why did you choose your url?

Uuhh.. Okay. So it was 2012. And I used to watch a lot of DailyGrace on YouTube? Grace Helbig? And also Dan and Phil and others who mentioned tumblr. But I think the reason I first made an account was to send a message to Grace. And since I, at 14 years old, had heard that people sent mean messages sometimes... I thought I would try to spread some nice ones instead. :)

2. Any side-blogs? If you have them, name them and why you have them.

I have @wekilledanowlbear with a couple friends for D&D stuff. But we rarely use it.

Then I still have @ltstockholm2020 -- which. Tragic. Since I dropped out of the fan project group (they were all on twitter) and you know. It never happened.

And of course @1dcountryfest !!! Which I encourage you all to sign up for!

And I have @evihitpostlimit which is a separate account and does exactly what it says. I've only used it once so far. Back when I actually used to hit post limit regularly, I didn't have it yet. 🤡

Ah, I used to have actual photos of me, but the purge kinda ruined that. And when I started posting art again, I decided that it was probably a good idea to use a drawing. And it has a pride sticker on it this month!

Another painting I did that I thought went well with the rest of my mobile design.

It takes ages to find out because this blog has like 115k posts LOL. It's this post about the Sam Pepper controversy from 2014. If we're going by original posts, it's this GIF from February 2020.

Around 1k. But after nine years who knows which ones are actually still active LOL

Usually once in the morning and then once in the evening. Sometimes in-between if I'm bored or if someone sends me a link to something.
