This lovely embroidered purple gown was first seen in North and South in 1986, where it was seen on Wendy Kilbourne as Constance Hazard. It was used again in the 2001 film The Feast of All Saints, where it was worn by Jennifer Beals as Dolly Rose.

Midnight Caller 1.10
Another superb episode, but completely different to the last one.
There’s no crime angle this time, in a script which shows how versatile the show can be. Not always a crime drama, sometimes just a drama.
There are two storylines: Jack and his father, Devon and her father. And, to the show’s credit, it’s debatable which one is the stronger. Both are dramatic, heartfelt and frequently sad.
Peter Boyle gives a great performance. In all his scenes, but particularly his last one when JJ shows his true colours.
It’s fitting that, in the end, all that Devon and Jack have are each other.
Jack’s closing monologue is one of the best of the series.
10/10
