barbgrove fake dating

ooooooh i haven't thought about this one in a while and originally it was going to be like a split barbgrove and hellcheer but to this day i haven't figured out the hellcheer side so it might just be in the background and not a split after all BUT

the general vibe is barb finally got out of an abusive relationship with her ex but he's still harassing her so steve offers himself up to be her fake boyfriend and she just kind of laughs (lovingly) and says babe that's very sweet but you suck at fighting, he will kill you and so then he comes up with the idea to go to eddie, who he knows is still single, and see if maybe he'd be up for the job.

turns out eddie would but he's thiiiiiiiiiiis close to getting a date with chrissy and he doesn't want to screw it up!! barb understands, obviously, but then billy pipes up (who barb hadn't even realized was there) and offers to do it. after much arguing they reach an agreement and as steve takes barb home, he hatches a plan for a group date to ease into things (featuring nancy/jonathan, steve/robin (platonically, of course), eddie/chrissy, and barb/billy), and specifically decides it should be mini-golfing just to piss billy off.

idk when i'll get around to this one but it does sound like a lot of fun!

I have to say I love that your mostly bottom will with the fics you write. I don't mind reading bottom Mike and I wrote my first bottom Mike scene this month for a byler ghostface fic I have but idk I just really prefer reading bottom Will.

But outside of the bottom/top talk do you think they have a preferred position they like(ie. missionary).

Honestly, I think they're unapologetic saps, so they like any position that keeps them face to face so they can kiss and look into each other's eyes and watch each other's expressions of pleasure because they're sickeningly in love. Soooo definitely missionary, but Will also definitely loves riding Mike. I'm sure they experiment far and wide, and ultimately the position doesn't matter so much as getting to be with each other and take each other apart, but those are the ones they default to, at least in my head!

I've been in internet fandoms for almost 20 years and most of said years were absolute calm in this regard. We had these unwritten fandom rules that included "don't like, don't read" and went our own way. Of course there was fandom drama, but it wasn't about smut, not in the fandoms i've been in at least. So yeah i firmly believe in "live and let live". If being like this makes people like you like my blog, that's an added advantage that i'm really happy to know about <3

What fanfic do you wish you got more response on?

this is a really tough question! i'm pretty happy with the response i get to most of my fics and like... apart from maybe a few one shots i've posted over the last year i can't think of any fic in particular that i wish got more feedback.

the closest would maybe be the holiday au even though i've been awful and haven't touched it since january, but i feel like of all my chaptered fics that one maybe hasn't gotten as much interaction as my others have (and that might just be because it's hellcheer and stancy, but i could be wrong!).

i'm hoping to pick it back up before the end of the year... i swear...

💀 Do you have a fic/story you regret writing?

Not a one!

I have a few where I'm not 100% satisfied with the ending--Loch Katrine comes to mind, there's a part of me that would really like to revamp it a little, make the ending a little smoother. Feel the same way about my Harry Potter fics, honestly.

I don't...regret my Last of the Mohicans fic per se, but I worry a lot about it, because I'm writing a romance between two characters who are dead in the film and Uncas is actually a historical figure (whoops, did not know that, should have researched a wee more), so I worry a lot I'm being insensitive or appropriative. The response has been very positive, don't get me wrong--I haven't gotten any hate for it or anything like that. But Last of the Mohicans--despite Russell Brand and Eric Schweig CARRYING the movie (at least they used native actors) is rife with problems of its indigenous characters, because the source material, the deer slayer books, are also rife with problems of how indigenous characters are portrayed, therefore all fics of this film are inherently flawed in that way.

I do my best, but I am a white writer, and I started this fic in 2014 before I started taking progressive advocacy seriously...so there is a worry there, you know?

But not enough to stop me from finishing it. Oh yes, it's on my grand project of finishing non-Hellcheer fics. And even if it is inspired by problematic source material, what can I say, I'm a romantic, I shipped Alice and Uncas HARD and I was NOT the only one. (Are we noticing a theme about how all my ships are dead?"

At the end of the day fics are not advocacy, they're just fics and a three chapter smut fic about Uncas and Alice is harmless.

I try! I love and appreciate comments. So used to ff.net where you didn't reply to comments. And I feel weird to keep commenting "thanks" all the time.

I don't like to write angsty endings. "No Redemption" is probably the only one.

It's most of them. I always want a happy ending.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I don't think so. I did get some because I shipped  a couple where people couldn't get over the factor that the female character grew up. Sure she was 12 years old in Season 1, but by season 10? There's references of her in college.

Yep! Fluffy, spicy…I don't know what other kinds there are? M/F

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written? 

Not really, but I started to writing a Walking Dead/Stargate SG-1.

I feel like I'm true to character when I write. And I try to research things all the time.

Finishing a story. I'm so sorry WIPs. Plot bunnies bite me all the time.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I've done it. Usually it's google translate or something that's used within the fandom. Lately, I just skip the translation and use italics with a note to indicate something being spoken in another language so the readers won't need to scroll to find the translations or I don't butcher the language. 

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Shit…that was 20+ years ago. I think it was probably Sailor Moon. Possibly DragonBall Z.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

One of my favorites…it's almost 10k of a WIP that I haven't even published yet. Angsty time loop Doctor Who fix where I make the Doctor and Donna relieve a certain day over and over again until he can "fix" the thing that went wrong.
