thinking about near misses in east blue.
shanks doesn't like conflict. he doesn't want to fight. he knows if buggy sees him a fight will happen. (does he know that buggy is concealing his history with roger? idk) so obviously he avoids him. shanks is great at avoiding people!
but how close do they get first?
do the red-haired pirates, looking for a new base of operations, spot a ship in port with a jolly roger that sends a shiver of recognition down shanks' spine?
do they land on opposite sides of the same island once? wander through the same market? nearly stop at the same stall? is the only thing that saves shanks from getting sworn at for a solid hour the sharp ear that catches on the phrase “captain buggy” and the quick thinking to duck into a random shop while his first mate gives him a deeply concerned look?

That one world quest with cassadee where we try to help her realize that her idolization of merlin maybe not for who he is as a person, but rather what merlin represent.. Which is magic itself....
Anyways, take that concept and put it to when young mirael when she was still merlin student. In a sense, her adoration for merlin appear the same to cassadee idolization for merlin, and once merlin had said to young mirael; "are you sure you're adoring me for who I am or are you adoring merlin?" and for the longest time mirael was so sure what she likes about her mentor IS for who that person really is, not the title he carries, not what he represent as a whole. Merlin was mirael dearest and she so sure of that, so sure she looked for her mentor for 20 years...
Then she meet her dearest again, except... He's different. no longer the same person she remembers (and he doesn't remembers her)
So once again came in the question... Is it merlin she adore, or her dearest "mentor"?

in all honestly tho I respect people who like heartbreak girl or easier or don’t stop, especially when it comes down to it being this is my first 5sos song how am I not suppose to feel a way about it bc there is something incredibly special about the moment when you go oh this is it and as much as it’s like yes I am personally tired of this song over the others in their discography also it didn’t age well, I also get it. there’s a moment when you know and if there’s a particular song tied to that then all the love to you and it. I’m glad it’s gotten the live performances and different versions it has. I’m glad there’s part of integral to the band as well.

'Cause listen, I'm not saying anything about the content of the books, but I gotta give it to PB, some of the titles are good word play, and I wanna see if anyone else thinks that, too.
OP added context she thought people might want to know: I am so so easily amused
