When Brother took up his duties as the King of the Founders, I came to know what a great man he really was. I had already respected him before, of course, and while I had been jealous of him all the same, I truly realised how difficult it must be to reign over a country as the King of the Founders now that I had taken over my brother’s former tasks. 

He had to keep careful track of everything, from the relations between Species to the state of the castle. To make matters worse, the Demon World was still in a state of disorder. It was an extremely uncertain time. If he were to slack off, the different Species would perish in no time. Such a grim fate must be avoided at all costs—if it was not, we would be beyond saving.

As I sat brooding about this in my room, I suddenly heard footsteps coming near. Judging from the scent, it was her. I opened the door before she could knock.

“What’s up? Do you need me for—”

Before I finished speaking, she took my right hand in hers and gripped it tightly. In her other hand, she held a brown basket. My eyes widened at the sight of a water bottle hanging from a strap around her neck.

“Shin, let’s go on a picnic!”

A smile was plastered across her face as she spoke, only increasing my surprise. How many years had it been since I’d last gone on a picnic? The weather was certainly nice today, and I wanted to spend the day with her. However, documents were piling up on my desk.

“But I still have a lot to…”

“Do you really have to do all that today?”

I swallowed my reply when I saw the worried expression on her face. I almost wanted to say that yes, I wanted to get it done today, but as the thought formed in my mind, I knew that I didn’t need to.

I briefly turned over her invitation in my head before nodding and walking out the door.

We left the castle behind us and spread the picnic mat on a low hill. I watched as she joyfully unpacked a variety of snacks and drinks. My face had unconsciously broken into a smile as well.

“Here, Shin, this is for you. I made many different kinds, so have some!”

I took a bite from the sandwich she held out to me. I’d known she was planning something from early this morning, but to think she’d been cooking… 

A pleasant taste flooded my mouth. I’d been way too busy lately, and I only now realised how long it had been since I got to spend time off like this. 

Maybe I’d been more anxious about my brother’s position as the King of the Founders than I thought. In my constant worrying about wanting to grow closer to him, to surpass him, I had neglected myself.

She had the rare talent of making me notice what’s truly important. No matter how bad things got, she remained by my side… and yet I had failed her as her partner.

“…I’m sorry.” 

When I quietly muttered my apology, she turned to look at me with a surprised expression.

“I became engrossed in my own stuff… and I didn’t spend enough time with you,” I continued.

“…That’s not true.”

She quietly grabbed my hand. The warmth of her body spread to mine through her palm.

“Shin, I know you always think of me dearly. But… I just want you to take care of yourself, too.”

I could never compete with her and her gentle smile. She always put me first. Her support is what got me to where I was today. 

I loved her from the bottom of my heart… and I wanted to make her happy.

“Thank you.”

As I stroked her hair, I leaned in and kissed her. Her shy smile, her extraordinary kindness… it made me want to make her mine forever.

“You made a lot of sandwiches, right? Feed them to me.”

“Hehe. Alright… Which flavour would you like?”

“I’ll eat all of them, so any will do… After I’ve eaten this one, I’ll feed you next.”

“Ah…! Y-you don’t have to…”

“You’re saying that, but I know you want me to.” I whispered, making her face turn red. 

I planted a kiss on her cheek, and took another bite of the sandwich.

ever since chapter 108 tbhk has been getting progressively worse, after reading chapter 112 i had to take an hour long lap around my room before i could write this 😭

This page really intrigued me, not because of kou or anything but because of what aoi says

She refers to teru as “teru-kun” differing to that of what she used to call him

after kou runs back to the stand it shows this

Kou and mitsuba??? HE’S ALIVE?? This is literally all we get of them so i don’t have much for this part

Nene singing at the play, having a thought just at the back of her mind, thinking she was wanting someone to watch her, but not sure who

Until they’re finally done, everything’s quiet, she looks up at the crowd to see

Hanako?? Im not quite sure if he was actually there or if she was hallucinating or something but she remembered him, enough to remember his name. ALSO HE KEPT HIS PROMISE AUGH 😭💔

i dont have much to say for this because i really dont know whats going on but im interested to see what happens next w/ them

This next part especially killed me

Teru is distressed, he’s fucking devastated, he feels betrayed and hurt by the only person he’s trusted as much as he has, teru reacts impulsively when it comes to something that weakens him. akane was right when he referred to him as a little kid, he is like a child, he does not know how to control his emotions since he wasn’t taught, and sure as hell not having a mom made it worse

also his face 😭 my mans is HURT

Him not knowing if he should treat akane like a human or like a supernatural hurts me. this reminds me of the picture perfect arc with hanako and nene, akane being in hanako’s place and teru being in nene’s. akane making the decision for the greater good that he doesn’t even fully believe in, just as hanako did when he made shijima make the painting

The tension goes CRAZYY but also wtf

The demotion from “aoi” to “clock keeper” back to “aoi” shows he really doesnt know. Also showing he really did trust him, but now that he’s done what he did, he doesnt know how to feel about him. The “you really let me down” again suggests he didn’t at one point, and he did like him. GOSH AidaIro sleep with one eye open tonight

Akane looking worried like that shows he really did care about teru too, and what he thinks of him, i mean like look at him he looks disappointed too, but in himself

His face he feels so bad 😭😭

Teru’s perspective shot on the top left is painful like the rest of this chapter, him looking down at akane with a face of disbelief, as akane removed his hand from his tie, and redoes it, explaining the rest.

again, reminding me of the picture perfect arc, with the whole “be here long enough and you’ll forget your past life” with again, akane in hanako’s place and teru in nene’s

Akane says this could be a better present for Nene, and we see her initial hope of being popular come true (also taking aoi’s problem away, as stated at the beginning)

but he also says this could be a better/more preferable present for teru aswell, which makes me want to see how teru’s life changed, and what akane considered something teru would want, and what he lost to gain it. (like how nene gained popularity but lost hanako and the connections she made bcs of meeting him)

Fuck i just realized something. Akane was under the impression teru has a crush on aoi so what if he made them closer as in like dating closer SHE CALLS HIM TERU-KUN is this what akane meant by “some people might prefer this ‘present’ over the former one. could be you president.” HUUH

i have a problem with saying “this will never happen, i know it wont, and i wont even consider it” and genuinely will be under the belief that it wont, but then it fucking happens and if thats what happened here i might as well archive my acc

Back to the current topic, as a wielder of time, an important part of making this present, is making sure there is no way his memories will be replaced too, or so im guessing. He says "some" and “their” instead of "we" or “people like us” when talking about the people that will forget the old present. Meaning if akane des remember, he will be so indefinitely alone and self aware (him knowing so much more than the rest of them) and have to play along with everything. Everyone else has the comfort of forgetting, which will make it much easier to adjust, meanwhile if things stay the same, akane will be the only one to remember and will be like this for as long as they stay like that.

Which i like this new one, as mitsuba and kou can be friends without one of them literally being dead, and how aoi can be more open and is closer to nene, but if this is how it ends (obviously not this chapter but if it ends with them staying in the new present) tbhk is so fucked.

its kind of a win-lose, lose-win type of thing, but either way akane’s cooked.

hi!! i have two questions, i apologize in advance that theyre about mitsuba and kou, but theyre also about the yugi twins, so i hope u can forgive me...

first!! i see a lot of ppl complaing/being sad that hanako and kou dont really have any moments interacting together anymore, posting screenshots, mourning their lost early series friendship ... and i dont really get it? to me, hanako never really liked kou, he was more "playing pretend" to appease nene, he doesnt seem to value him as a friend... theres the "kid"(<deragatory) he does, to emphasize that he is the Older, Experienced Guy in this relationship and kou doesnt have anything of value to add... but then again, ive never really sat down to reread everything in one go, so i might be missing something... do you have anything to say on hanako and kous relationship and how/why it developed?

second question!! i noticed that mitsuba and kou both have a favorite twin who they are friends with and a twin who they think is an evil, violent, perverted psychopath, and those twins are swapped between them lol

so i wanted to ask, do you have any thoughts/opinions on mitsubas and kous outsider perspective on the yugi twins? who has what aspects of them right/wrong? could a fight over who the better yugi twin is cause a rift large enough to stop their budding romance?(<hyperbole)

im sorry if this got really long, and these are less concrete questions and more me pondering things and then presenting my half-baked thoughts to you for examination, but i always really enjoy your interpretations of anything tbhk so i thought id do it anyways >.<

Ohhh its fine haha, there are no characters I truly hate (I JUST JOKE...) & I like talking about everything in the manga, as everything has some sort of place in the themes or story! And I do care about all relationships from character to character, even if I might find that character annoying on a personal level HAHA. I like the entire 'voice' of JSHK!!! I would say, Yes, I agree 100%! I've talked about it before myself. I don't see Hanako and Kou as best friends, and I'm not sure what incredible moments of pure friendship people are remembering (probably mostly... ch9?). Hanako both creates distance by using 'kid' (indeed making Kou always out to be more ignorant or childish than him…) and even Kou creates a distance by using only 'Hanako' (no honorifics-- Kou is actually generally quite deferential and polite to people he respects like Nene-chan or Akane.... he is a 'good boy'! When he meets Hanako, of course he thinks he is a monster, so he doesn't use honorifics… but he also doesn't correct this, later. While dropping honorifics can also be a sign of intimacy, that only counts if the other person has given you some kind of permission, or after knowing someone a long time … Hanako never uses honorifics for others himself, because he sees himself as above everyone, and wants to impress distance … and I'm sure because he is 'nanaban-sama'. He only really uses honorifics when menacing Nene or Akane about "Aoi-chan".)

I think in reality, most Hanako and Kou interactions point to something contentious between them waiting to snap, as I've discussed before.

In fact, we now know explicitly that Hanako loves his little brother & sought to save & protect him, so for sure a wedge was driven between Kou and Hanako the moment Kou declared revenge on Tsukasa. Hanako's blank stare, [... ...I see.] should make sense when looked back on! Quietly logging that Kou might become a problem for him, later.

At the very least, you have to imagine he is more loyal to his yorishiro than he is to this ugly kid. If push came to shove.

We see plenty of Hanako resenting Kou.

On top of that … he's competing with Kou for Nene-chan, not only her time & attention but even the right to influence her life or save her. Both in Picture Perfect & Severance, Hanako expresses this VERY directly.

Despite initially being OK with Kou making efforts to save Nene-chan, he completely walks that back in Picture Perfect; his sense of possessiveness and jealousy cannot in fact handle it at all. Sometimes people get attached to a particular older manga scene, and see it as inconsistency or random when that aspect has changed, but honestly, I think it's always a realistic character beat. Hanako once welcomed Kou to try to save Nene-chan, back in volume 6,

but .... as he got closer to Nene-chan, he instead pursues Picture Perfect & then the Severance as his own aggressive, forceful solutions, which no longer factor in Kou as anything but an impotent annoyance. Hanako once, incorrectly, 'thought he wouldn't care', but he in fact does! This is a form of character development I think a lot of people refuse to acknowledge, in Hanako (... maybe people think 'character development' can only mean positive traits or improving, and not something like becoming more aggressive or possessive? <- but being more attached & true to himself IS'positive' development for Hanako. Becoming yandere isn't a bad thing in AidaIro-sensei world </3). Over 20 volumes in, there's no need to cling to perceptions of their dynamic which they have evolved away from.

So.... you have Kou shounen protag shouting "I'll save everyone!" while Hanako is being a yandere like "nobody can ever touch Yashiro's lifespan but ME". This isn't a recipe for best friends.

I remember when ^ this ^ chapter came out, some people were upset/shocked that Kou could still talk easily about destroying Hanako, but I have no idea why. Hanako has only repeatedly proven himself unstable and untrustworthy since those early-manga moments (if a friendship stems from ignorance, what is it worth?). It is only Kou's dedication to Nene-chan that makes him help Hanako in the Far Shore ... Nene-chan is pure of heart so, perhaps so long as she doesn't see him as a lost cause, or as long as Hanako doesn't hurt her, he will try to believe her, and stand by her.

The thing Kou does have going for him, is his faith in Nene-chan to bring out the best in Hanako, to reach his heart. I think ultimately Kou himself isn't sure about the truth lying within Hanako, & he knows it won't be him that draws it out. To him, it could end up that he's completely crazy & dangerous & has to be shot like a rabid dog lol, or that there's something good in there. He's fence-sitting between Teru & Nene's extreme positions.

My favorite very earnest, honest Kou moment among them, is this... when he is approaching Nene-chan, after the meeting with Teru & Akane, during the Severance.

Kou checks in with Nene-chan because he's not sure where SHE'S at with all of this.

The actions he takes in the Far Shore are less "to save Hanako, as his friend" but "to save Hanako, for Nene-chan".

meanwhile, for your second inquiry:

Didn't a fight over Tsukasa already interrupt their relationship? Mitsuba relies on Tsukasa constantly,repeatedly,and this very fact made Kou cry, feeling jealous & inadequate, LOL. Kou's whole complex is that he wants to be trusted & relied on, and Mitsuba instead running to Tsukasa every time he is in trouble, racks up Kou's resentment towards Tsukasa. Isn't it so funny…MULTIPLE ARCS OF THIS!!!!

I would say neither Kou nor Mitsuba really trust the Yugi twins, or understand them, any of them, despite each being allied towards one in some flimsy sense. I think Mitsuba is correct that Hanako is a psycho pervert... uhhhh all of their interactions are SO terrible LOL

and uh....

(^I love this moment SO much ^ completely unnecessary out of pocket Hanako moment!!!!! No reason for you to look so crazy!!! DID YOU HAVE TO CAST SHADE??? lame weak Mitsuba .... haha... I love Hanako ahhh </3 Mitsuba is so pathetic & stupid to him.... such disrespect in PP!)

^ KouMitsu fans should love this protective Mitsuba moment, him staring at Hanako like this while clinging to Kou...

In mmmany ways I guess I don't think Kou or Mitsu are loyal to the Yugi beside them, wouldn't necessarily come to their defense any more than Mitsuba does in the Aquarium chapters (which only really argue a necessary dependency; though I think it's really interesting that in PP, Mitsuba defends his CHOICE to ally with Tsukasa, not WANTING to be seen as only Tsukasa's victim or helpless.)

Kou holds Mitsuba's loyalty to Tsukasa against him, but for some reason as we've seen thus far, Mitsuba does not hold Kou's loyalty to Hanako (or Teru, who tries to kill him) against him. I'd say Mitsuba is actually more humble/gracious & a little more self-aware than Kou-- and also devalues himself, wouldn't ask Kou to give up anything for him, because he is worthless (the entire point of his willing attempt at suicide in the Aquarium chapters). Kou screams & throws lightning around when he feels anything Bad, so more disquiet is expressed at Mitsuba. Kou feels more demanding & holds more uhm.... ambitions for what he 'wants' their relationship to be (one where he is depended on, is Mitsuba's hero). So there is probably more likely to be more conflicts surrounding Tsukasa....

I wonder if Hanako will ever do something so directly terrible that it would cause Kou to loosen his allyship to Nene-chan, and increase his allyship to Mitsuba. I would like that tbh, and it would bolster their dynamic to me, & I could respect Kou's stance more. As it is, it's hard to say much about his loyalty to Mitsuba, which is kinda only simultaneous to his loyalty to Nene-chan .... I would like Kou's fence-sitting about the Hanako situation to finally really hurt Mitsuba maybe, some day. If I had to have an opinion on it.

I wonder what Nene-chan coming to like/defend Tsukasa would do to Kou's stance against Tsukasa? What if everyone but Kou liked the little bugger in some way.... haha. That would be idealistic for me.

I would also find it interesting if Mitsuba actually had to do something meaningful to defend or protect Tsukasa. Curious if the vague ghost memories in Mitsuba's head in the recent chapters will culminate in any kind of reaching out to Tsutsu. Ultimately, is Tsukasa someone who tormented Mitsuba, or someone who saved & comforted him repeatedly? His active mind rejects the concept, but maybe his subconscious would feel otherwise. I dunno. A lot is ambiguous.

A bit of a tangent I guess there... so theorhetical. Well, nobody really likes the Yugi except for each other & Nene-chan.

“I… knew you once?” Kou’s eyebrows furrowed.

He knew that, but to hear her actually say it set the puzzle pieces in motion.

 Nene nodded, pulling her knees closer to her chest, “yeah.”

A sigh left her, “I was your upperclassman… at one point, a long… long time ago.”

 His words caught in his throat as he felt tears fill his eyes. Swallowing, he looks away, unable to keep eye contact, 

“Yashiro-senpai…,” he spoke softly with realization.

 Nene nodded, “Although I haven’t been called that for a long time, Kou-kun.”

He exhales shakily.

Nene almost remembered what it felt to breathe, watching him struggle to keep himself calm.

“I’m sorry.” she apologized. She really didn’t know what else to say.

Kou nodded, unable to speak.

“Really, I am… I really didn’t want this to happen….”

I didn’t want you to remember me.

She raised her hand, picking at the ends of the seal on her cheek. 

 “I just wanted everyone to be happy.”

 Kou kept his gaze on the ground, his hand balling into a fist,

 “What about you?” he whispered.

 She smiled, although she couldn’t quite make it reach her eyes, “As long as everyone is happy, I am happy too.”

 “Bull.” Kou scoffs.

 Nene felt her smile drop.

 “You wanted this to happen, and I got in the way because I remembered. And—” He tilted his head to look straight into her eyes, “Yashiro-senpai, I know you’re not happy,”

“I am, though,” Nene shook her head at his accusations, “Besides, it’s better this way. This world is much better,”

“Is it, though?” Kou couldn’t help but ask, “How is it better? How is this better? What about you? Why do you get to suffer?!” His voice raised with each question, tears building in his eyes.

She stared at him, a sad, watery smile on her face.

“This world is better, Kou-kun. You— you don’t know what it was like before…”

“Explain then?! Why are you not alive and happy in this ‘better world’?!”

“I wasn’t happy then either!” Nene snapped at him, huffing, “I wasn’t happy knowing I was going to die. I wasn’t happy seeing people I like have to suffer and die!” 

Her grip on the bench tightened, “I wasn’t happy knowing you had to watch your friend be turned into a monster; I wasn’t happy with my best friend suffering because of my time limit. I wasn’t happy knowing that everything I did would be for nothing! I wasn’t happy seeing everyone suffer!”

Kou, startled by her outburst, flinched away from her.

“Ah—” Nene stammered, realizing she had lost her composure, “I’m sorry, Kou-kun, I didn’t mean to—”

“It’s fine. Don’t apologize for being honest,”

Her hands released the bench. She forced herself to relax her ghostly body, 

“I… This world is something I wanted. It’s something that I wished for more than anything. I am happy about this world.” She inhaled, “Sure, I… I’m dead now, and I didn’t exactly have the best life while alive,” 

Nene tiptoes around the life she lived in this world [the scars still linger to this day], “But I… This life, this world! It’s good. It isn’t fake, it’s happy. All my friends are alive and happy. You’re happy, aren’t you, Kou-kun?”

“I am.” he immediately responds without thinking, “But… I know what it was like before now. Not exactly— I don’t have all my memories, but I remember you, Yashiro-senpai. I remember you had a crush on my brother. I remember liking you. You were heart-driven— you still are— but you were smiling, and it was honest and genuine,” He smiled, “I remember we cooked together a few times. You were my friend.”

“Aren’t I still your friend—” Nene shook her head, “Maybe not the same way, but we are friends, aren’t we?”

“Of course we are!” Kou groaned, “But that’s not the problem!” 

Nene stared at him, waiting for him to continue. She didn’t really know how to respond. 

“It’s that— It was our world! Why change it so much?”

“Because I—” Nene stopped, huffing, “I already told you, Kou-kun, I want you and Amane-kun… I want everyone to be happy!”

“How can either of us be happy knowing you just threw your life away for us?”

Nene let out an undignified groan from the abrupt annoyance bubbling up, “You don’t understand!”

Her hands pushed her up, standing with a stomp, “You aren’t supposed to know! You and Amane-kun were never supposed to find out! You weren’t supposed to have those memories— you weren’t supposed to find me, you—!” She let out another grumble, pulling on her hair, “I should’ve known better than letting you guys hang around…”

“Yashiro—”

“Hanako, remember?” Nene looked over at him with a tight smile, “I’m Hanako, please don’t forget that,”

Kou rolled his eyes, “You seriously expect me just to let go of all of this—”

“Would you prefer to forget? Will it ease your mind if you never knew me as your senpai?” She asked, willing any gnawing sadness that’ll doubtably come from that. [Nene doesn’t understand why she’ll feel that way when this is what she wanted.]

“Why would I want that!?” He shouted, dumbfounded by her even posing the question.

“It’ll make you happier, to not know. We can go back to messing around, and you threatening to exorcise me.” Ruby eyes softened, “You can go back to hanging with your friends without the guilt of knowing this wasn’t the intended path,”

“Why would I want to forget all our memories together?” Kou asked, “How can you think I’ll be happier without knowing that you really are a good person?”

Nene paused, watching the expression on his face, 

“Okay, we don’t have to go back to before,” She was quick to give in to him. He’s a soft spot for her. “Just… Don’t tell anyone else about this,” 

“I won’t, senpai,”

She smiled, “Hanako-chan, remember?”

Kou looked away, embarrassed, “Right… Hanako-chan,”

Nene looked around the rooftop with a smile on her face.

“Ah!” Kou yelled, startled, “Crap! I have to go! I’m supposed to be watching Tiara!”

“Oh! I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make you late! Go! Go!” Nene apologized and ushered him to leave. “Have a nice day, Kou-kun!”

“Have a good day, too, Hanako-chan!” 

And with that, he was off, throwing open the door and bolting down the stairs.

Her hand that she used to wave him off dropped with her smile.

“I really hate lying…”

Nene looked over to the Mokke that had been hiding, who watched silently, and shrugged, “I don’t think I have to ask, but could you help me find out who all remembers?”

As Tsuchigomori looked at the scene in front of him, it felt as if everything in his body froze, tears running down his face.

Is why I don’t have relationships with humans.

The face of his lover was pale, a stark difference from how they used to be. The blood that would rush to their cheeks from his teasing was now anywhere but their body. The car that had hit them drove off immediately, the driver not wanting to be responsible for the accident. Their eyes got more clouded as onlookers called for help, but he knew there was no way to get them back now. He had seen eyes like that many times before.

When emergency services arrived and he saw as they pronounced them dead, it was like someone covered his ears. The only thing he could hear were his ragged breaths and all he could feel was the strangling feeling around his neck as he held back his sobs.

Stumbling back into the school building and into his library, he finally let it all out. His sobs echoed throughout the bookshelves and he fell to his knees, holding his head in his hands.

The memories he made with them was all he had left.

The way they comforted him through his struggling moments, how they made him laugh, their own laugh. How, although a brief moment of shock, they still loved him after finding out about him being an apparition.

Pushing himself up, he looked up at a painting they made for him. He got up from his position on the floor and approached it slowly. It was a gorgeous gouache creation of lavenders, the purple standing out compared to the dull background, which they had intended. He remembers how their face was lit up when Y/N brought it to him, saying it was their best work yet and how they wanted him to have it.

That was a week before their untimely demise.

Knowing that they would no longer be there caused a nauseous feeling to fill him. He turned to his desk, his breath quickening before he started crying again, punching his desk over and over with the banging causing butterflies to erupt and flutter through the air.

Three Months Later

When Hanako, Nene, and Kou dragged him out of his library, he complained.

A lot.

He heard them talking about a new apparition they found, the hallway, and a supposedly haunted painting.

”And why are you bringing me with you?” He grumbled.

Hanako simply grinned and responded with his usual cheerful tone, “Because last time we found a new apparition we barely made it out, so we need adult supervision now according to Nene.”

“I am not about to become ghost chow!” She cried out, hands trembling at what this next one might contain.

“They’d go after you because of your daikon legs, not because you were there.”

The librarian watched as she slapped number 7’s arm, thinking back on how Y/N would tease him in a similar way before.

Kou, Nene, and Hanako bickered back and forth as they walked to their destination, Tsuchigomori taking out his pipe before pausing, putting it back in his coat’s inner pocket. Y/N hated whenever he used it, even after he tried to explain he was already dead and nothing bad would happen from him using it.

“Here we are!”

Looking up, they all looked at the huge painting on the wall that they hadn’t noticed before. It was as if it both existed and didn’t at the same time, only existing when the viewer wanted it to. The painting had dazzling shades of purple and magenta, the image of an arch drawing them in.

Reaching out to it, Hanako’s hand went through, the paint warbling around him as he walked through, lending his hand to Nene and pulling her through before she could protest. Kou and Tsuchigomori followed in, and as they did they heard something- no, some*one*, repeatedly hitting a wall which echoed through the huge empty white room. The only things that stood out were a multitude of paint buckets, beautifully painted landscapes - including the one they walked through - and a figure hunched over the bare floor.

When Tsuchigomori glanced around at the paintings, Hanako walked up to the figure, “You must be the new apparition we’ve been hearing about.” The apparition whipped their head up at his voice, “Although, you’ve been much calmer than most I’ve met.”

They looked at Hanako before their eyes trailed behind him and widening. Tears graced their eyes before speaking, “Is that you.. Ryuujirou?..”

His breath got caught in his chest after hearing their voice, his own eyes widening before turning to look. He gasped when he saw it was them.

Y/N.

They stood up, and as they walked they left behind a trail of different colors of paint. He walked closer to them too, and with just a few more steps to go, he used his other four arms to brace himself as they ran into his arms.

They held each other close as tears started streaming down their faces. Pulling back, Ryuujirou gently put his hand on Y/N’s cheek and caressed it with his thumb, staring lovingly into their eyes.

“I-” His voice came out strained, making him cringe a bit, “I’ve missed you.. so damn much.”

As they stared into each other’s eyes, they closed the gap between them with a soft kiss. Warmth filling them with a fuzzy feeling inside as they pulled away shortly after, resting their foreheads against each others as they simply held the other in their arms.

The students and the ghost watched on nearby, Nene whispering, “We should leave them be,” to which the boys nodded, walking to the portrait they came through before.

Ryuujirou and Y/N stood there holding each other, making up for lost time.

Reiji start this with Ruki and a WHOLE competition forms and in like some Drama CDs, they don’t always end well 😋

Ayato makes a big ass thing and drags Laito out to find an ACTUAL tree to cut down as Yuma does the same- I bet they all found the same EXACT tree and they fight over it (Laito ditches)

Azusa doesn’t really understand why everything has to be a battle, but he does support the Sakamakis to do their best. What got on the nerves of Kanato was that Azusa kept trying to get him to tie him up in the lights you would put around a tree or even at the lining of the house outside

Kanato actually does it and leaves Azusa tied up for roughly an hour before someone found him

“Kanato-San…” *insert Azusa shuffling over to Kanato, holding the roll of lights* “Let’s…Have our own contest…Who can look the most glowing tied up for the Holidays…”

Kou actually takes this competition to try and cause his own mayhem, you know how? The power of mistletoe 😱😱😱

HE HANGS THIS SHIT EVERYWHERE ABD REALLY HE IS DOING IT TO GET A TEASING KISS OUT OF SUBARU (It back fired TWICE- Kou was under it when Ayato walked by and one time with Laito which ended horribly wrong on the idol's behalf)

Shu doesn’t bother as always, though he did decorate lazily//poorly and he FALLS ASLEEP BY IT DUE TO THE DAMN WARMTH and you can hear him snoring from the stairs of the manor

Reiji and Ruki have a small cooking contest while they are at it so they hold that in the culinary room in the school, THEY.DRAG.SUBARU with them. The reason Subaru is the taster because he isn't picky with food, doesn't have a favorite or a least favorite (As long as there isn't a lot of fucking garlic to drive him ape, we're good!)

Subaru gets overwhlemed because it's literally DISH after DISH coming from both Reiji and Ruki, he does try to care (not really, he doesn't want to fucking be part of this) but it did come to a point where he threw up and stormed out

WHILE THAT IS GOING ON- Ayato and Yuma STILL are bickering over the same damn tree like it's the last item in stock in a market, they both return without a tree (Ayato improvised to be cool and brings a bush into the home) "Chek it!" *insert Ayato holding a bush with both hands proudly* "Yours Truly got us a christmas BUSH!" "It's been a good three hours, I've seen twigs be a subsitute than a damn bush within three SECONDS"

So really, how does it run out overall- CHAOTICALLY- There is no "winner" because it went horribly wrong the second Kanato setted the bush on fire because it had small crittles hidden and one managed to scurry into his bedroom (Teddy almost lost his other eye)

Monologue

On the way there,

the Sakamaki’s filled me in,

on everything which happened while I was absent. 

Including the fact that the Adler Clan,

was currently on its way to attack Eden,

as we were also headed there. 

They also told me,

that Laito-kun would use the opportunity to make quick work of them,

in an attempt to avoid any more dangerous situations,

which might be coming our way otherwise. 

Knowing that Laito-kun had been facing many struggles,

and his brothers were the ones who ultimately came to his rescue,

honestly made me more happy than anything.

I believe that letting go of the past,

and trying to look towards the future instead,

is something Laito-kun very much needs.

After all, it is very difficult,

to change what happened in the past ーー

However, amidst all of that,

the images of the Ghouls who are stuck in Rotigenberg to this day,

kept on flashing back in my mind. 

Even though I know very well,

there is nothing I can do for them.

Still, I cannot forget,

how small and fragile the hand of the little Ghoul girl looked,

when she tried to stop me from leaving back thenーー 

ー The scene starts with the night sky

Yui: Laito-kun, are you alright?

To be honest, seeing it in ruin like this makes me think that he got what he deserved.

After that we simply explained what was happening to Yuma-kun, who was still unable to grasp the current situation.

He parks his bike at a nearby parking lot when he finds what he's looking for. The red lights turn everything pink with their glow. The crowds of people lining the streets and gambling stalls are ignored as Yoshiki makes his way nonchalantly further into former rival territory. He can tell eyes are on him, that some of the older Daruma Ikka members know what he looks like. No one stops him and he doesn’t do anything to specifically draw their attention towards him. So he casually walks through the crowd making his way further into their territory.

He only had one thing on his mind all evening and he was determined to find it.

It’s when he makes it to the coveted spot that he stops and speaks to anyone. Two of Daruma’s higher-ranked members guard the door, arms crossed with their faces set in a scowl. They would seem intimidating to the average visitor, but to Yoshiki, they were only in his way.

“Whaddya think you’re doin’?”

The guy on the right calls out to him. Trying to size him up. The guy on the left, while not outright looking familiar, did seem to recognize him.

“Dude, that’s Murayama from Oya Kou Kou.”

The man on the right scoffs at the name Oya.

“As if a buncha school kids got anything on us.”

Yoshiki lets the jab slide. He’s in a good mood, in Daruma territory and this guy looks new. His buddy seems to know that was the wrong thing to say and smacks him on the back of the head.

“Does the boss know you’re here?”

The smart one on the left tries to keep his partner quiet and Yoshiki is in really too much of a good mood to throw a fuss.

“I wanted to surprise Hyuga-chan. I mean, I can warm up with you two, but I was hoping to… well, you know.”

The guy on the left glances back at the door and with an attitude that bespoke how much he didn’t want to do it, he allows Yoshiki through. His partner looks like he’s about to protest, but doesn’t move either.

Giddy with excitement and adrenaline, Yoshiki hops on his feet a couple of times, loosening up before pushing the door aside. He walks into the room with all the confidence of someone who was meant to be here.

“Hyuga-chan~ it’s been a while!”

Hyuga Norihisa barely moves an inch from his spot lounging on his worn tatami cushions. His eagle-eyed focus is centered on Yoshiki, which sends a thrill through him. Facing off against this man was fun, thrilling even. He can sense Hyuga knows why he’s here with the minute ways in which he reacts to Yoshiki’s presence. He especially loves seeing the immediate switch in Hyuga’s eyes going from utter boredom to eagerness in a matter of seconds.

“Lost another job?”

A smile angles itself lopsidedly onto Hyuga’s face; smug satisfaction that he got one up on the former king of Oya. Yoshiki groans a little, shaking his head. It’s unfair how easily word gets around. On the other hand, he’s a little touched that Hyuga would even be interested in hearing the goings on in his everyday life.

“That was three weeks ago now!”

Yoshiki walks casually across the room towards where Hyuga was lounging. “I think I’ve finally found one that sticks.”

Hyuga shifts from his position on the floor to sitting hunched over with his legs crossed. How could he look so boneless while Yoshiki felt as tight as a highwire? It was unfair. Hyuga either is unaware or chooses to ignore his intent. It’s almost annoying that he’d purposefully be ignored like this. This calm front that Hyuga put up; Yoshiki wants to break it.

The burst of energy he’s been trying to keep tapped down starts bursting forth. He tries to stay still as he watches the sake cup touch Hyuga’s lips. They don’t break eye contact and it’s driving him insane.

“And here I thought you’d come to ask me for something.”

“A job?”

Hyuga snickers, it’s as close as he’s going to get to full-out laughter. He was amused at Yoshiki’s reply the very least. After kicking back and finishing off the cup in hand, Hyuga puts the cup on the table and gives Yoshiki a look.

“Anything.”

That burst of energy pushes him forward, Yoshiki takes that answer as an excuse to move in closer, stopping at the steps leading to the rouka and ima where Hyuga has set himself up within the confines of his territory. He bounces down to a squat purposefully keeping his eyes trained on Hyuga. He doesn’t want to miss a reaction if he could help it.

“M’feeling too tall standing here like that.”

“If only you’d go on your knees…” Another laugh. Hyuga was in a good mood today. “No one would believe it if I told them.”

“Ugh! Don’t make me regret coming down to your level. I’ve been on my feet working a legitimate job all day.”

Hyuga’s smile drifts back to his standard frown, turning to pour more alcohol to fill his cup.

“What’re you doing here, Murayama?”

Here it is, the big question. He could say his body just FELT like being here, but that would have been a weird thing to say. Not when this thing between them was on the edge between the labels of “new” and “like usual.” Yoshiki really can’t see himself as a clingy kind of guy and can guarantee Hyuga doesn’t want someone like that.

Instead of vocalizing his answer, he bounces back up and climbs up the three steps to stand at the entrance of the room. He falls back into a squat, arms resting on his knees, and leans forward. His knees hover just above the floor as are his hands placed in front of Hyuga’s knees, it’s a gross bastardization of a dogeza, but purposeful. He looks up at him intently and tells him what he wants.

“I wanna have a go at what you can give me tonight, Hyuga-chan.”

Fight or fuck; he’s up for anything.

And for what it’s worth, Hyuga doesn’t do much in response to that but pour another cup and bring it over to Yoshiki’s mouth. He tips it forward gently pouring some of the smooth, fiery liquid into his mouth. The alcohol burns, but he can’t help but lick the remainder of the drink away as Hyuga moves to finish the rest of the cup before putting it back on the table.

“Babe, get over here before I drag you.”

Yoshiki laughs, hopping back on his heels and kicking off his shoes before walking the few steps to quite literally fall into Hyuga’s lap. He can’t keep the smile from his face despite the repositioning of his human cushion’s legs, which nearly jab him in the thigh. He leans forward, pushing Hyuga backward, unsure of what’s happening until he’s on his back on the ground.

“One point for me,” Yoshiki says, the grin of pride poking fun at his partner's misstep.

Hyuga doesn’t allow Yoshiki to revel in his victory. Instead, he bodily flips them over, the weight of a grown man now pushing him into the wood flooring. The Daruma leader is now looking smugly down at him, the biting grin almost a mirror to what Yoshiki had on his face a second ago.

“Don’t think I’ll let you get away with that.”

Yoshiki laughs. This was what he was here for. His laughter abruptly stops as he kicks trying to flip the over. It’s not a perfect move, Hyuga lands on his side rather than his back, but instead of disengaging Yoshiki leans in to steal a biting kiss. He feels Hyuga respond immediately with tongue and teeth. He doesn’t let his guard down, his body tilting then until he’s on top again.

He doesn’t realize that Hyuga’s about to punch until he feels the sudden sharp sting of pain.

“Fuck. That was dirty.”

Hyuga’s breathless reply of “That kiss was dirty” causes a grin to spread across Yoshiki’s face. He makes a move to stand up again as his opponent slowly does so himself.

“All's fair in love and war, Hyuga-chan.”

The snort of amusement that escapes from Hyuga’s mouth only encourages Yoshiki. His fingers tingle with excitement as they come together to throw their first official punches. It’s like a dance of strength and skill. Hyuga is a strong fighter. He’s all determined precise punches of erratic anger and though Yoshiki prefers to flow with his opponent's moves, he ends up matching every blowback with fervor.

A leg sweep nearly takes him down, avoiding it with a short hop, Yoshiki uses gravity’s momentum to bring his fist down. With the sharp sting of skin on skin, he knows his knuckles are going to bruise. He’ll have to think of some story to tell his coworkers if they ask what happened.

As if sensing Yoshiki’s mind wandering, Hyuga grabs the front of his shirt and pulls him in for a biting kiss. It’s almost feral, all teeth and aggression. Hyuga is saying you are here and you will focus on me. He’s right. Yoshiki came here specifically to see him.

He bites back, which causes Hyuga to growl at him. Yoshiki laughs into his mouth, his bottom lip feeling the scratch of incisors accepting the copper tang of blood suddenly in his mouth. Stepping back, a self-satisfied grin on his face as he goes for another punch.

It’s blocked with a knee going up to hit the other in the stomach. It connects but only just barely; Hyuga has the sense to shift away just in time. They stand apart for a moment before Hyuga decides to hold out his hand, palm facing the floor, to make a “come here” motion.

Yoshiki dabs at the blood pooling on his lip, trying to staunch the already healing cut. He wants to rush back in to throw himself into the fray of being with Hyuga. The energy is palpable and he wants to be able to show the Daruma Ikka leader that he’s all in tonight. He feels himself moving forward towards the beckoning, his arms move to pull Hyuga in close as grabs the open happi and drags him back into a kiss. It’s messy, both with and without the blood, but he holds them together as he feels the other’s arms encircling him.

They stay like that for some time. Yoshiki makes sure to leave some dark marks on Hyuga’s neck as a means of pride. They’ll both look pretty worn by the time they’re done. For Yoshiki it’ll be the injuries asked about before the hickey is noticed and for Hyuga it’ll be the opposite. Still, as Yoshiki leads Hyuga to settle above his hips while laying on the ground, they are even as far as points go.

“What made you so fired up today?”

Norihisa pulls a drag from his kiseru, leaning on his side to watch the emotions go through Murayama’s face. It wasn’t as if the man was easy to read, but he tends to wear his heart on his sleeve when it mattered.

However, this time Murayama closes his eyes and smiles. The lackadaisical look nearly has Norihisa crawling on top of him again.

“It was a good day and I felt like coming by. The new building we’re contracted to build is close by.”

An exhale of smoke and Norihisa leans in to take another kiss from Murayama. It’s slow and lazy and it makes Murayama hum with appreciation. It’s faint at this point, but Norihisa can smell the scent of freshly cut wood deep in his partner's hair.

Murayama turns to face him, patting him on the cheek lightly.

“Not like we were always close, but I’ll miss ya sometimes.”

By instinct, Norihisa turns his head to nip at the fingertips by his face. He’s too content at this moment to care how soft he’s coming off in the afterglow. It’s one of the few things he’ll allow after fighting and fucking Murayama; when their energy has been expended and all that’s left are their true selves outside of the pomp and circumstance of being leaders (and former leaders) of S.W.O.R.D.

Unfortunately, the time has passed and with a groan of disappointment, Murayama sits up. His look is apologetic and Norihisa knows what’s coming.

“Gotta head out. Work tomorrow. They expect us there by 5:30. These early days are what mess me up.”

It’s so obvious what Norihisa wants to say as Murayama pulls his shirt back on. He reaches out to pull at Murayama’s sleeve to bring him close and says against his lips, “Just stay tonight, you idiot.”

A pause and then a bright grin follow. Murayama knows he’ll have to avoid a cranky Norihisa that early in the morning, but a shorter commute and overnight company outweigh the risks. Norihisa barely has time to put down the kiseru before his arms are full of the former leader of Oya.

One thing he makes sure of is to give as good as he gets.

Kou: Ah, you don’t have to try so hard to follow that up! I forgive you. However... could you comfort me? The scent of your blood is so strong. I wonder if it’s because of the bath. It’s been difficult to resist since we got in… Let me drink. You’re fine with it, right? Well, I would dig in even without your permission, though—

[Kou bites you.]

あの方（かた）: Lit. ‘that person.’ The Mukamis always use this (relatively neutral) term to refer to Karl Heinz—even though they rarely call him by his name, everybody knows the only person they could be referring to is Karl Heinz. It won’t really stand out in the title of this post but I always translate this term as ‘He/Him’ with a capital H, mostly because you could argue that the Mukami brothers revere Karl Heinz almost as though he were a deity.

He actually said お風呂（ふろ）は命（いのち）の洗濯（せんたく）which literally translates to ‘a bath is like washing your life’ but that sounded a little odd, and 命（いのち）の洗濯（せんたく）also just means to kick back and ‘cast off the drudgery of everyday life and doing as one pleases’ according to Jisho.org (my favourite online Japanese dictionary, by the way).

Couldn’t figure out for the life of me what Kou was yelling in the background at this point (half the sentence was muffled because of the splashing sounds) but judging from the context, I think he said something along these lines…

Ok, this might sound dumb, for that I’m sorry 😅 But like what if before passing down his throne to Shu, Karl have given certain missions to the Mukami brothers, like to take over the ghouls, the Vibora clan, and the entire demon realm, along with the humans, make this world bend to their will, and protect his son, the next king,why the mukami brothers? Because Shu will be too lazy and too kind to this shit, the sakamakis would turn on each other and on their father, but the mukamis stay loyal. Of course this mission is impossible to half-breeds, so Karl have them certain powers, some of his powers, and that’s something cause he’s the king.

He gave Ruki the ability to, transform in anything and everything, he basically turned him into a ‘shadow-demon-2.7’ deadass. He can literally go INTO people’s bodies and control them. Since he’s basically a shadow, you can’t kill him, he has no blood, he’ll just repair his lost limbs. He also has a lot of knowledge now, like WAY too much for his own good.Wanna know if someone will ever love you? He’s the man.

Kou, was given, kinda like the ability to control any elements, like the avatar. Fire, water, electricity, ice? Everything, along with very high danger senses, don’t even try to attack him, he’ll sense it from a whole planet away. He was also given a weapon, maybe a bow cause that just suits him, or a spear. He can make ice crystals, summon fire like canon Kanato except much stronger. Along with finding out if someone’s lying it not, that’s just canon.

Yuma, this fine mf was just given strength, like he’s stronger then a demon or even Shu..maybe not but he has the same level of power. Karl prob gave him a really big sword maybe a claymore or a spear, these two weapons just suit him like Kou. Karl knows his memory is weak so he prob gave him powers to remember shit from thousand of years ago. Along with sight to see a enemy from miles away. When his eyes glow, it’s shows him people in hiding or transformed enemies.

Azusa, honestly him, he prob got turned into like a ‘spider-demon-1.0.1’ like those demons in demon slayer? Yeah. He can summon spider webs, and cut you into pieces, he can also repair his broken arms, legs, bones, he just can. He can control you if you look dead into his eyes and they start glowing. He’ll turn you into his puppet literally, like how kanato turns people into dolls. He also can turn dead people alive, I can just see him and reiji being very good friends~ man’s just build different.

Thinking about this reverse car accident plot and it’s so funny imagining Kou laying there hopped up on pain meds watching as the cute quiet boy who sat infront of him the year prior cry and scold him for “getting himself hit” and “making him so scared” and kou having NO clue what’s going on but feeling what he would later describe as “falling in love”

Alright! As promised, here is my terukane take on the "hot springs that turn you into a cat au”! I hope you were expecting something silly, cause I went full self-indulgent.

The Neko House is a small business that works as a joint restaurant and hot springs. The place is small, surrounded by rumors, both good and bad: Some people say you turn into a cat if you visit, but others say it’s a pleasant and charming place where the restaurant employees dress as cats and very docile stray cats sleep around.

Akane is a tourist, he went there to eat with his childhood friend, Aoi, who really like cats despite being unlucky with them. After they finished eating she told him to have fun at the hotsprings, since he have been stressed lately and she still wanted to play with the restaurant cats, who surprisingly, didn’t scratch her. Akane can’t say no to her, so he decides he might as well, it’s not like he is agaist relaxing in a hot spring anyway.

Akane slowly gets turned into a cat. At first is just fangs, cat ears and a tail, which he doesn’t even notice, too busy chilling in the hot springs, but once he turns into a full cat, he notices right away, sinking and nearly drowning. He is the most confused and grumpy cat you can imagine, he hisses at everything and tries very hard to keep walking on his back paws like a human, which tires him greatly. He is one stubborn guy so he takes three hours to give up and walk like a cat.

He search for Aoi-chan, happy to see her human and happy, playing with a ton of cats, but heartbroken to not be recognized, even when she hugs him and claims he looks like her friend. It’s wild to see Aoi gets worried that “Akane-kun is taking a while” while being right there.

He tried to follow Aoi out of the Neko House after hours passed and she started to panic about him. Unfortunately, Akane was stopped by an invisible force field around the place, so he couldn’t stay by her side. It was frustrating and a bit scary.

“My my, what an angry kitten. We need to put you on the hot springs again, it will make you relax~” The owner, Hanako, said when he found him. Akane know brainwash when he sees it, so he immediately dashed away. He is one of the few cats around that didn’t surrender to his cat instincts, and the only one trying to be human again. He steal keys from the staff, steal their food, and act like an overall annoyance people can’t catch. Hanako managed to get close to grabbing him once but he got a claw in the eye and a bite on his nose.

When Akane pushed a jar off the cupboards and nearly hit Nene’s head, they decided to give up on catching Akane, just let him be.

Meanwhile, Teru and Kou get Aoi’s report of yet another missing person and add it to their list, their interviews with everyone who lost someone starting to sound familiar: They realize all missing people are seen entering the hots spring but not coming back, and the costumers leaving glowing reviews are the ones that only go to eat and appreciate the cats.

There is only so much interviews can give however, so the Minamoto brothers went to check the place in person before writing an article about it. When Teru got in, he noticed the staff stiffen, he also noticed a grumpy copper cat paying full attention to him. He didn’t care about the cat, delighted to intimidate the staff until they gave him answers. 

He was doing good progress getting them to spill out the very questionable origin of this place when he felt claws on his pant leg. Cats usually hate Teru, so he was surprised to see the grumpy copper cat try to climb him, insistent even when Teru gently shook him off. The staff also seemed surprised, claiming the cat hates everyone and usually doesn’t let people get close.

After the fourth time shaking the cat away, Teru just gave up and let the cat jump on his coat, climbing until he got comfortable on his shoulder, staring so intensely at his research, that Teru almost believed the cat was reading it.

Teru tried to pet the clingy cat, but it didn’t let him, scratching his hand and hissing, its full attention on the paper, almost as if asking Teru to flip the page of his research. The brothers were very baffled, but slightly intrigued as well, whenever Teru felt a paw on his cheek he knew it was time to turn the page on his journal. It was kind of cute, so Teru indulged the cat while questioning the staff. While Teru was distracted analyzing how suspiciously real one of the staff's cat ears was, the cat on his shoulder jumped on his hand, stealing his fucking research and running away. He runs after the cat and left Kou in charge of interrogating the employees.

Teru found the cat at the entrance, putting dirt all over his research. To say he was ready to wring a feline neck would be an understanding, but after a brief study, he realized the copper cat was helping him, sticking his nose in the ground and using mud to highlight part of his documents and write down short and messy words. Meowing and guiding him around. He is such a smart cat, it almost feels like he understands Teru.

Teru had a feeling the place was magic, so he assumed Akane is a magical cat and teamed up with him. He opened the doors and unlocked wardrobes with the keys Akane has stolen, and the cat climbed way up high, sneaking on every crevise in search for clues. Akane ignore any cat treats, focusing on finding shady shit and dropping them in front of Teru. They are a good team.

When the investigator tries to very carefully pet Akane, the cat misinterprets the slowly approaching hand as a high five and indulges in it.

Teru melts. He has officially grown attached.

“Kou, we are getting a cat! I named him Cinnamon! ” He’ll declare while holding Akane, even though Akane absolutely does not want to be picked up, he is meowling in offense and exuding miserable and murderous vibes, but Teru is too happy to care “He is a very smart kitty. Ah, and don’t worry about that, he bites but he is a sweetheart!”

The Neko House staff can understand every curse word Akane is saying, Mitsuba and Hanako have to fake cough to hide their laughs. Kou thankfully goes “I cannot begin to describe how much this cat wants to murder you Teru-nii. Please drop the poor creature.” So Akane is spared. He is so grateful he let Kou briefly pat him. Teru mopes about it, but Akane just sticks his tongue at him, having no sympathies to spare.

Teru wants to check the hot springs, but he gets wary by the way ‘Cinnamon’ hissed and bit his leg the second he tried to put his arm in the water, deciding instead to put the water in a flask and analyze it later.

The Neko House is in the middle of nowhere, so the Minamoto bros spends the night there.

Teru barely touched the water so he wasn’t turned into a cat, but he did spend the night trying to find some suspicious substance in it. He woke up with cat ears and a fluffy tail, but didn’t realize it, feeling slightly puzzled at the way Cinnamon was laughing at him. He tried to pet the cat again, surprisingly getting to feel a bit of his fluffy fur before being gifted the obrigatory furious bite. Oh well.

Teru only noticed he got cat ears when he went to put his detective hat on. 

He looked at his cat ears, then at his cat, connected the dots “Oh. You’re a human, aren’t you, Cinnamon?” and getting the most “no shit sherlock” face he has ever seen in a cat.

Teru hides his ears under his hat and gives Akane a little tie and a detective hat. He is an honorary investigator now.

Yui: Ah, no, nothing. You know...I was just wondering if you’d start packing as well or not, that’s all.

ー The scene shifts to the balcony of the Mukami manor

ー Yui approaches him

Yui: Ruki-kun...You’re still not going to sleep?

Ruki: ...Oh, it’s you. I told you that I don’t mind if you go to bed before me, didn’t I?

Yui: Yeah...But I’m worried. Are you alright?

Ruki: Yes, I’m perfectly fine. ...Or at least, that’s what I’d like to say, but if I’m honest, I don’t quite know myself.

Yui: It must have...come as a shock, huh?

Ruki: Exactly. The fact that man has passed away is obviously shocking to me as well but...

Have you heard? Apparently his powers were passed down to Sakamaki Shuu.

Yui: Well then...Be careful out there, guys.

Ruki: Wait. 

Yui: Eh?

Ruki: I know I told you to stay here, but I think we’ll be taking you with us after all. 

While you may be Eve, I did not like the idea of involving a human such as yourself in a conflict between Demons. 

However, taking the recent events into account, I can no longer leave you behind here. 

While the Demon World is just as dangerous...If both options hold a certain risk, then I’d much rather have you close to me so I can keep an eye on you. 

Kou: Geez, you always have to make things so difficult, Ruki-kun. Just be honest and admit that you want her by your side because you’re worried.

Ruki: ...Kou, shush.

Kou: Fufu, okay~

Ruki: I’ve already made up my mind. You’ll be coming with us. Understood? 

Yui: Yes, of course. 

( I’m relieved that we won’t have to be apart but...The situation in both the human and the Demon World isn’t stellar... )

( Chaos broke loose in the Demon World from the moment Karlheinz-san passed away...I wonder if that’s just a coincidence...? )

Yuma: Oi, if we’re all on the same page, let’s get goin’ already.
