If Gojo does die here then I really do think gege is just bored and trying to end jjk as quickly as possible, cuz this would be the most boring and crappy death for the most powerful character in the manga.

And I truly understand the appeal of powerful characters getting their asses absolutely handed to them, I love to see them humbled. But the fact that there has been so much hype building up to this fight, if Gege did this it would just be crappy writing. And I know Gege isn't a bad writer, so at this point it'd just be lazy.

We've seen him do this since the start of the culling games really. I really do think the decline likely has to do with disinterest, because up until Shibuya jjk had wonderful storytelling. It seemed like Tsumiki was going to play a larger role in the series, Yuki had a ridiculous amount of untapped potential (as well as the opportunity to do something relating to Todo), and Gege immediately snuffed Panda's sister. Not to mention Angel. It sort of seems like Gege just decided they don't want to have to worry about side plots or fleshing out these other characters because it would take too long, which I relate to as a writer. The end is in sight, it's just a matter of getting there and if Gege did all of those things to make this last half of the story more rounded, it would take a lot more time.

I'm not making excuses, it's still lazy and makes me mad. But I'm saying if Gege does kill Gojo here, I feel like that would be why. Because a death like this for Gojo would be insanely disappointing, and again, if the first half of jjk tells you anything, it's that Gege is a talented writer.

reading the jujutsu kaisen manga and i've reached the moment where it's just not fun for me anymore. like i love the characters, but it feels like the story is set on inflincting the maximum amount of pain on them and i just? don't care for it? i don't know how to phrase it, but it just feels boring to me. it's essentially 'expect the worst and then watch it happen' and that's just not an interesting way of telling a story to me.
