something that sucks about programming jobs is that it's really hard to talk about them. if you're talking with other computer bitches there's this implicit dick-measuring contest at all times. non-computers ppl don't really ask about work at all. I think this is because it takes a lot of explaining to figure out what the hell you're even talking about, much less the relevant context. I tried to explain Kubernetes to an ex once and it took several hours to build up the concepts to give a rough sketch of why I was frustrated with it. I think we really take for granted the tower of abstractions that you need to engage with this work. I feel quite lonely in this regard.

using git and a … wikipedia says that the generic term for what github and gitlab are is 'software forge' for document editing is pretty great
you can use your favorite text editor! you can track a multi-file project! the default workflow encourages you to keep copies both on your computer and in the cloud! you can log what changes you're making!
if you accidentally edit with the wrong account you can go edit the history, it'll be a pain but you can.
the other options for "edit a document and show it to your friends as you edit" are, like:
google docs. it's a weird proprietary format and if you export to html it will be a horrible mess of html that needs cleanup. you don't by default end up with your file constantly up to date on your computer. it's super easy to end up viewing a doc with the wrong account.
edit in some platform on your computer and upload files to share them with your friends. you will have to upload the files a lot to lots of people if you want to keep them all up to date.
use some weird other web text service. it might also randomly go down and delete everything and there's way less of a robust advice ecosystem
unfortunately if you use a software forge they might ask you if you want to add a kubernetes cluster. and also they often won't enable word wrap on plaintext.

the most fucked up thing is that my bachelor's degree in computer science doesn't mean a damn thing to any company that's looking for employees because they don't see that as valid experience (even when the positions they're hiring for are entry level). as part of my degree, I had to learn programming languages for individual class projects that only lasted a few weeks. I had to learn data structures, algorithms, operating systems, systems programming, computer networking, and so much more. and I graduated! that means I'm capable of doing all of those things and learning new things incredibly quickly!
but the fact is that they don't want to do any training, they don't want there to be even a single minute where you're adjusting to the company or getting the hang of whatever tech stack they want you to learn. they want you to come in on day 1 and start writing perfect code for them. if you don't already have 2 years of on the job experience working with react.js or postgresql or kubernetes or whatever other specific tech they use, you're worthless to them.
and this is all just a product of capitalism. capitalism is not the most efficient system for accomplishing goals or solving problems, which is what computer science is all about. rather, it's all about generating the most amount of profit for shareholders in the shortest amount of time. I have no doubt that under communism, an economic system that actually prioritizes solving problems to improve people's lives, I would actually be able to put my skills to good use, and that's on top of the fact that I wouldn't NEED to sell my labor just to survive. capitalism makes my passion for programming feel like a miserable chore, because not only do I need to do it just to survive, but I know that every line of code I write is, more likely than not, making people's lives worse.

What Is Argo CD?
Argo CD is declarative Kubernetes GitOps continuous delivery.
In DevOps, ArgoCD is a Continuous Delivery (CD) technology that has become well-liked for delivering applications to Kubernetes. It is based on the GitOps deployment methodology.
When was Argo CD Established?
Argo CD was created at Intuit and made publicly available following Applatix’s 2018 acquisition by Intuit. The founding developers of Applatix, Hong Wang, Jesse Suen, and Alexander Matyushentsev, made the Argo project open-source in 2017.

API Server

URL of the repository
Revision (tag, branch, commit)

Template-specific configurations: helm values.yaml, parameters
A Kubernetes controller known as the application controller keeps an eye on all active apps and contrasts their actual, live state with the intended target state as defined in the repository. When it identifies an Out Of Sync application state, it may take remedial action. It is in charge of calling any user-specified hooks for lifecycle events (Sync, PostSync, and PreSync).
