There is an air around the things Icarus says in the final streams. They’re self aware, they aren’t stupid, they know exactly what they’re doing and what will happen in result of that.

They know that what they are doing is hurting everyone they care about. They’ve said that they know what they’re doing is wrong. But they’re doing it to fix things, to fix their mistakes.

Nobody would have to like them after that, they know that nobody would want to be around them with how much they’ve done. It’s easier to isolate themselves now than be faced with the realization later. They know that everyone will be angry, but when they’re done, when it’s all *done* everyone will have their family back. Centross will be back, Jamie will be back, they could even hope for momboo. Everyone they care about.

They all deserve that.

Icarus doesn’t.

Icarus had their best friend, and why would he want to be around them after what they did?

Atleast Rae would have his best friend back. Wolf and Ocea would have her partner. Oscar would have their dad.

They would all hate Icarus for it, and they know that.

It doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt still.

It doesn’t mean that can’t wish it all turned out different, that they could be happy.

Their story is a tragedy after all, and they’re still drowning with the realization.
