Things from IWTV episode 10 (s2ep03) I noticed:

- the French is good this time! I still wonder if it's the actors themselves or dubbing. But it's actually understandable for a French-native person, and the language itself is exquisite. Wondering now if those lines are picked up from the book in Anne Rice's own pen, the translation of the books, or they're original lines written for the show by a French writer who has a splendid style.

- I just really loved the Armand flashback, both because of the language, and because it opens up the veil on the history of vampire covens throughout the centuries. Also we get to see more Lestat, this time Armand's Lestat and that's always a win.

- Armand is right about both Louis being broken and Claudia being pushed to the limits of how long she can accept this life of hers. I absolutely do not trust Armand, he's twisting the narrative for his own purpose (that I don't know because I haven't read the books yet), but still, he's a good judge of character. Can't not be one and survive for 500+ years I guess.

- the Loustat scenes, on the quai de Seine, in the bar and in the park, were insane.

- was that Sartre? Did. Did they just cameo'd in Sartre for the lols? Man, Paris.

- speaking of Paris, I know it was actually filmed in Prague, but man, I felt like I was back there. That Seine promenade, that's the one I walked countless times in my years living there. I could recognise the pavements like I was still there.

- Santiago's fed uppppp with Louis' BS. And he's definitely laughing at Claudia. Calling her "puce"... It's funny because in French, "ma puce" is a term of endearment, like "my darling", but indeed literally it means "my flea", so for an English-native like Claudia, it could be seen as literally being called the smallest, lowest member of the coven (like Delainey says in the episode insider), but for a French-native, it's like the coven is calling her sweetheart. And then they give her that dress and tell her she's going to play a kid for the bext 50 years, the one thing she hates being reminded of the most, and you go "ooooh. Oh, no, honey. They bad. This is bad." Clau's about to Break. Knowing how her story goes, I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

- Danny boy felt subdued this time. Like he's still reeling from Louis' invasion in the last episode, and now that Talamasca agent invading his laptop, he's feeling attacked on all sides and he's floundering to get back up again. That said, the scene with just him and Armand was particularly intense. You can sense how yearning Armand is, and how destabilised Daniel feels under Armand's gaze. In other words, that vampire really wanna fuck that old guy, and the old guy doesn't know how to feel about it but he's definitely feeling the intensity.

Need to read those books yesterday.

Cookierun Rarepair week day 1: Newbies @cookie-run-rarepair-week

Ok I actually have thoughts on this one, I usually don’t ship string gummy in my main cookie au but I’ve been playing with a couple rare pairs with him in some of my spin-offs and well this is the most recent one.

Set in the main au because iiiii did not feel like bringing in one of my spinoff aus day one right out the gate lmao

In my cookie au the holiday cookies and TBD have a sort of partnership since secret organizations gotta help each other out or something, they have exchange programs to help with training new recruits/students and current ones. I like to think string gummy and strawberry cream met during one of these events.

I just think it’d be fun! Both men of few words awkwardly blushing and strawberry cream having a huge crush on the handsome time cookie and stollen very much recognizing it and basically pushing him to get him gifts or hang out like the little wingwoman she is! Just very cute and stuff.

Also we love red boys who can enjoy each other’s company in comfortable silence

Sneak Peek

Here’s a sneak peek of something I’m currently writing. I’m halfway finished with the first chapter, so it could go up tonight or it could go up in a week. Idk.

Fandom: Harry Potter

Ships: James x Severus, James x Lily, Lily x Marlene; yes all at once

Needed Information: This takes place in a world where witches and wizards commonly get Hanahaki Disease. It’s just part of life.

    James suspects Lily must love him back. He’s never had Hanahaki, despite being seventeen and having an adoration for the girl since he first laid eyes on her. Sirius has had it once, for Marlene. Remus has had it three times, but he refuses to tell anyone who he was in love with. If puppy love counted, Peter would have everyone defeated. As far as James is aware, Lily has only had it once, for a Muggle friend. And then there’s Snivelous. He’s been coughing up flowers since before their First Year. When they get removed, they’re gone for maybe a month before reappearing. Everyone knows they’re always for Lily. It’s part of what makes him such a tempting target. Once their friendship ended, the flowers became Forget-Me-Nots. Before that point, they were tulips of varying colours.

    There’s been a few rare cases of someone coughing up roses, the highest level of love. Remus is the first known case of having roses more than once; two of his three times, in fact. It had been a huge relief when that third time came and it was only Peonies. They didn’t come up with blood like the roses had. Nonetheless, Poppy had him stay in the Infirmary, just in case. He’d reluctantly agreed to have the flowers removed when the time came. Honestly, James is surprised he’s not had Hanahaki since then, as it was Fifth Year. Maybe the three times is all he has in him. Or maybe who he loves reciprocates now, without either of them knowing. Because Remus most definitely isn’t dating anyone. He’d know about it if he were!

    It’s maybe a month after returning to Hogwarts for his Seventh Year that James feels a tickle in his throat. He rolls his eyes, smiles at Sirius as he puts the conversation on hold, then forces a cough. Nothing happens, so he forces another. Then another. Sirius furrows his brows in concern, and Peter and Remus are now looking at him as well. “Do you think you might be sick?” Remus questions quietly. He’s always quiet. It’s part of what makes him so endearing. James shakes his head.

    “Must have just swallowed wrong,” he explains, focusing on clearing his throat now. Once it feels less blocked, he coughs again. Blood splatters onto his toast. Before he can react to the sight, he’s coughing and hacking against his will. He almost doesn’t notice the room slowly falling silent as the news ripples through the students. Almost. When he finally chokes out a thorn and a blood-soaked rose petal, all eyes are on him. An eerie sense of deja vu washes over him from when Remus coughed up a full rose onto his lunch once. There’s fewer people in the room to see him though. But that doesn’t mean anything. By the end of the day, everyone will know.

    “Jamesie?” Sirius’ voice cuts through the haze. He focuses all of his attention on his best mate, who looks incredibly worried about him. He parts his lips slightly to speak. Nothing comes out. “...Who is it?” He glances at Lily, who shakes her head. In that moment, he flees. He runs as hard and as fast as he can, trying to escape the reality of just who it is he’s in love with. He doesn’t stop until he’s at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, close to the Pitch. He pants heavily as he drops to the ground, sprawling out unceremoniously. He doesn’t dare close his eyes, though he desperately wants to. His mind is racing so fast with avoidance, he doesn’t hear the footsteps approach him a few minutes later.

on one hand, as an enjoyer of platonic relationships, i love how the toh fandom has started making up names for platonic relationships (rosegold, wovengold, hollow heart duo, emerald trio, etc. etc. etc.) that don't follow the standard format of romantic ship names that just combine the characters' names (i.e. lumity, raeda, huntlow)

but on the other hand, as someone who was involved in fandom in the 2010s when that was a standard format for romantic ship names, i regularly have a gotdam heart attack
