Can we just be honest and say that she truly hasn’t had a highly interesting, fun, creative, or exciting tour since like 1989? Or are we still pretending that the Rep Tour was good and that 40+ songs every night isn’t gonna burn her out of touring permanently by the end of the Eras tour?
I looooooooove to be a hater and complain on main so let's go there! honestly I do not remember rep tour super well....but maybe that sort of speaks for itself. rep tour's biggest thing going for it in my memory is that it made me like so much more of that album than I did before I stepped foot into the stadium. so major win there for ms swift.
I do think 1989 was the last time she really got creative in terms of how the songs were arranged (IKYWT and WANEGBT are the standouts from that tour, but we can't forget about Love Story and the Wildest Dreams/Enchanted mashup) which is one of the aspects of her tours I look forward to the most. And when you literally have a tour called THE ERAS TOUR with the express intention of honouring your career and work so far.....how do you not capitalize on your extremely large and diverse body of work and get creative with it. I made a setlist (an actually realistic one, not just 3 hrs of songs I personally wanted her to sing) just for fun and not to toot my own horn but the mashups I thought of (and I even wrote and recorded 3 of them just to prove a point) were kind of genius (and I did all of that in the span of a couple hours in one evening. this is Taylor's actual job). why is marjorie on that setlist. why is she only performing enchanted off of speak now. why did she cut the only song from her debut album the second night (jail!). WHY IS SHE PERFORMING THE DAMN 10 MIN VERSION OF ALL TOO WELL. I do not understand this woman!!!!!!!!!!
I'm also thinking (like you mentioned) about burnout and fatigue. It's not that I think it's impossible to sing/perform for 3h15m straight a couple days in a row and then have a few days off to recover, but like.....she is not a theatre performer who is accustomed to stuff like this. does she have the vocal technique and training to pull it off? we will see. I hope so! (also side note yes she should ABSOLUTELY be taking singing lessons if she's not already, absolutely anyone and everyone who sings professionally should be doing this and on an extremely consistent basis)
I do absolutely love the costumes for this tour though, and I like the visuals projected both onto the large screen at the back of the stage and the floor. There's some really cool moments (the dive comes to mind) and really great choreography (Vigilante Shit). The stage is not quite as intricate as (i.e. no real set pieces in comparison to) previous tours, but I think that has to do with the extreme scale of her tour. easier to have more elaborate moving pieces and detail when you're not in a stadium. idk. I watched most of the show via livestream Friday night and while I had a good time my takeaways were 1) this show is too damn long (for such a largely uninspired and at times straight up bad setlist) and 2) this doesn't make me want to spend hundreds of dollars for a ticket, go all the way into new jersey, and then go all the way back into the city after. so no fomo for this gal! only way you'll catch me at metlife is if I get a ticket for like less than $100. i'm spending my disposable income on theatre and broadway this summer because I'm moving to new york in may! wheeee

A Note on GMA, Entitlement and Privilege
Okay, the time has come for me to share the things I witnessed at the GMA concert last Thursday and how they illustrated the glaring problem we have in this fandom with people feeling entitled to Taylor’s attention or being catered to because they have the privilege to spend all of their parents’ money on Taylor events/merch and the extreme selfishness this constant need for Taylor’s attention breeds.
(I first want to say that in spite of all the nonsense I’m about to expose, I had SUCH a good time and felt extremely fortunate for the chance to be there and so thankful to Cee for offering me a ticket and none of the following is about her, she’s a literal angel.)
I got to the line at about midnight, and finally headed home after the concert at 9am. In those 9 hours, almost all I heard from everyone around me was either complaining or comparing how far they had traveled/how much money they had spent/how many Taylor shows they have been to/how many times she’s Noticed them. Just constantly trying to prove they were a bigger fan than anyone else in line as if having more money to spend = loving her more. I’m not exaggerating when I say that every single person around me had a picture of them with Taylor as their phone background.
And it was very clear that all of these people who dropped thousands of dollars to fly thousands of miles for this free, 30 minute set (???) very much felt like they were owed a tailored experience because of it. When they weren’t asserting their superiority as a fan, they were constantly complaining. About everything. The line was too long, they were too hot, GMA wasn’t providing water bottles (because not a single one of these people had the common sense to bring water with them for a 9-hour experience in the middle of summer?), it “wasn’t fair” that VIP pass holders got to go in first (although I’m sure they would have thought it was fair if they were VIP), there were several different line checkpoints for safety reasons and they didn’t like that at all, they didn’t like the warm up guy keeping us excited during commercial breaks, they felt “ripped off” that Taylor only sang three songs and that none of them were Lover. It was incessant, and I did not hear a single positive thing to counteract this complaining come out of any of their mouths all morning. Going to put some direct quotes under “read more” just so this doesn’t get too extremely long.
The audience situation once we were in the actual venue was a stunning display of selfishness (not to mention how everyone left a literal garbage dump as soon as the line started moving). It was a standing room only situation, so of course it was going to be kind of hard to see if you weren’t up by the barricade (which was all VIP people). As a shorty, I had already figured this would be the case and figured I wouldn’t see much. But yeah everyone definitely thought that their ability to see everything all the time and to potentially be seen by Taylor was a higher priority than anyone else’s ability to see or physical safety. There was a LOT of pushing and shoving. And when Taylor was on stage, everyone’s phones went up (once again this was TELEVISED like do you need to record the whole thing on your phone?) and Taylor seeing their sign, or their hand, or their rep room picture with her was vastly more important to anyone there than the ability of anyone behind them to see a dang thing.
Throughout the whole show, the only time the complaining stopped was when we were singing along to the music. I heard *several* people say, “I’m never doing this again, I feel so ripped off" as we were leaving a FREE Taylor Swift concert. That everyone knew in advance was only going to be 3 songs long. And all of those people are, in fact, “doing this again” today at the VMAs, and have posted (and self-reblogged a million times) how much they loved the GMA experience.
“Ugh I wish this was like a paid event so we could have just paid $50 to get in and not have to camp out all night” like just say you hate poor people and go
“Oh my gosh, that girl that Taylor always likes is up in the VIP section, literally right next to the stage. She’s going to SiriusXM too as someone’s plus one ugh she get’s everything it’s not fair. Anyways are you going to the VMAs on Monday? I am, I’m gonna get there super early.”
“What? They’re letting the VIP people in first? This isn’t fair!”
*After the security guards asked us not to run because there are children present and people could get seriously injured if we start a stampede*: “I don’t care about that, they have to realize we will do anything for Taylor like we are crazy we’re not going to apologize”
One guy literally said, “I’m gonna kill myself” every other sentence to emphasize he was excited and/or angry about something. Very loudly. For like three hours. After being asked repeatedly to stop because that is (1) not funny and (2) triggering to a lot of people.

The Captain Next Door Ch.1
Tumblr media
Summary: You’re a doctor who also just so happens to be a fan fiction writer. You love lots of fandoms but Captain America is by far your fave, so what happens when you get a new job, move to Brooklyn and realize that the brownstone you bought is right next door to Captain America? Obviously shenanigans ensue.
Warnings: cursing, smutt (eventually)
Authors note: Ok guys, this is literally my first fanfic and it’s about the Cap. Please be gentle! Also guys I really do live for a slow burn so that will be present heavy, I hope you can stick with it. Let me know what you think and please, reblog, like and comment! Love y'all! P.S. I do not currently have a beta and the ‘f’ and ‘u’ keys on my keyboard are messed up so incase you see repeating letters anywhere they aren’t supposed to be feel free to let me know.
You wiped the sweat forming on your head from the sweltering Brooklyn heat. You were from Texas but this was definitely more than you were used to, or expected from everything you’ve seen on TV about New York. You sat on the stoop of your Brooklyn Brownstone waiting and started to think back. Three months ago you were in your parents living room opening up a heavy envelope from a hospital you’ve only dreamed of. Your father beamed from ear to ear, chest swelling with pride and tears were already in your mom’s eyes the moment a paper cutter went through the envelope. Your eyes flew across the page “Y/FN Y/LN, We would like to offer you the position of Head of Cardiology here at Mount Sinai...” everything else had been a blur. All your sleepless nights in college, all the anxiety, stress, sacrifices of missed birthdays and family gatherings, all of it had lead up to this moment and it had all been worth it. Your job started in the next 5 months and you had to pack up your Texan life and move all the way to the ‘big Apple’ as your dad called it. Besides the fact that you were infatuated with the city since you were a little girl, you were ready for a change of scenery. There were so many good memories here in Fort Worth but thanks to your asshole ex, Daniel, there were also a lot of sour ones as well. Your parents and your younger siblings helped you pack up your little house that was just  15 minutes from theirs. You were able to get everything done in about 2 weeks. At the airport your family saw you off. Your younger brother, Benjamin, eyes were red.
“Aww baby brother are you crying because you’re going to miss me?” you pinched at his cheeks.
Swatting your hand away he chuckled “Nah, I’m just thinking about how you’re gonna be in a whole nother state bossing people around and how you’ll finally be able to mind your own business and stay out of mine.” You hugged him and he bent down so you could kiss his forehead. Even though you were 26, a whole 7 years older than him and 5’8, he still towered above you.
Turing to your 3 youngest sisters, Joy, Faith and Hope. Their names a testament to just how southern and Christian your parents were. They were huddled together crying freely, looking like little black angels in a chapel. You hugged each of them while the youngest, Hope, held on the longest. You hugged her until she was ready to let go. You kissed Faith on the cheek and moved to turn to your parents. The third oldest Joy grabbed you and hugged you once again, fiercley. She whispered in your ear “Y/N, I don't know how to do it. I don't know how to take care of them the way you took care of us, what are we gonna do without you?”
You looked into her brown eyes “Joy, babe all you have to do is love them. Also I’m just a FaceTime call away, PLUS I’m a big shot doctor so it ain’t nothing for me to hop on a plane for y’all. Girl I got monnneeyyyy” That managed to get a little laugh from her and you stepped back to look at your siblings. Technically yes, they were your younger ones but due to the large age gap you always looked at them as your children, your babies. The 4 of them huddled around you once more and hugged. You turned to your dad who was never one to shy away from his emotions, was all but balling.
“Come on dad, you gotta hold it together man!” he laughed and wiped at his cheeks
“I’m just so proud of you baby girl, you inspire your brother and sisters to do more, your mother and I have always told you that, but I never told you, you inspire me to. I am beyond proud of you.”
“Aw dad, I love you so much” Pulling you into one of his patented hugs he said “I love you too. You’re going to the big apple now Doc, make sure you take a bite” Kissing your forehead you turned to face your mom. Oh boy. Of you made it through this one you would be home free, no ugly snot face crying. She gave you the best smile she could and that was it. The dam broke and you were sobbing. She hugged you and told you how proud of you she was, how you were a shining light for your siblings and the family as a whole. She told you that she also packed some food from home in your suitcase so you could settle in a little easier. You looked at her with a heart full of nothing but love. You were a little neurotic, and had a tendency to be anal retentive, planning and sticking to strict schedule for everything, predicting 10’000 possible outcomes to any situation but your mother was always there for you. Always remembering anything you didn’t. You thought of how she was really the only one you would let see vulnerable and take care of you. You would miss that in New York. Picking up your hand luggage you were whisked through security thanks to your first class ticket. Turning once more now passed security you stood up on your tip toes and waved emphatically to your family, not caring who saw you or them looking crazy. Your family had already been a little above average but this new job allowed you to even buy your wants not just your needs. You settled down in your chair and noticed only a handful of people were in your cabin. A stewardess came to offer you some champagne and you politely declined. Looking out the window a few seconds letting the last tear fall you put your curly hair up, you had to get to work.
So yes, you were a doctor and that was all good and fun but you were also a huge nerd. Huge. While most people went to the club, concerts and generally having pretty good times outdoors you were stuck at home. Even when not studying you were still stuck to your computer. Once your family insisted on going to six flags and you brought your ipad with the attachable keyboard and your family kept talking about how dedicated of a student turned intern turned full-fledged doctor you were. If only they knew… You were working on your fanfiction and your followers and subbies were a bunch of savages! If they didn’t get their fix from you and you didn't stick to your upload schedule, your inbox would definitely be a madness, all sorts of threats and your lovelies would call you everything but a child of God. You’d been away for about a month and a few days now and your beta, Jay had started texting your actual phone. You met Jay on Tumblr a few years before, there had been some light flirtation always present but never anything serious. You worked better as friends and when you decided to get into fanfiction to blow steam off, he proved a good beta reader.
TXT From Jay: Doc! Where the hell are you at? Your rabid readers are jumping down my throat trying to you. Why you would leave a major cliffhanger for Captain America, and Sonia I have no idea. They want to know what’s happening next, low key I do too.
You giggled. You thought of everything, you knew setting up a completely unaffiliated and untraceable account for your writing was a good idea. 1- you didn't want angry people in your inbox losing their minds. 2- You’ve been going for interviews and you didn't want a case where a potential employer would google your name and see all the filth you think about earth’s mightiest heroes and other people who don’t even exist. No way, you couldn't have that type of rep attached to you.
TXT From Y/N: Jaybaby, I’ve been going through it. Sorry, just been in the process of moving and you know life can get a little messy. Plus I really needed a break. Funnily enough I’m working on The Dangerous Dame right now. I’ll send the new chapter to you within the week. XO
Thinking back to seeing the avengers save New York you were grateful for them. They were kicking ass and taking names. Keeping all of us safe but damn if they weren’t all so fine. And you did mean ALL. To be honest that Natasha could. Get. It. All of them could get it. But there was something about that Captain America. He was sort of shy and had a boyish charm about him but that body made you think of pure sin. You wanted to wrap yourself around him and never let him go. You wanted to do nasty things to him. You wanted him to completely demolish you. So you did what everyone who is obsessed with anyone does. Try and consume as much media about said person as possible. Hey, It is the golden age of technology after all. After having your fill of random fan pictures, blurry videos of him in action you needed more stimulus. Where better to turn than Tumblr. Much to your dismay, there was barely any Cap Fanfic and when there was there was so little reader insert. And even then, there was literally less than 10 where he was actually into a black woman. This wouldn't do, you thought to yourself. That’s how Doctor Chris was born. Of course his name was Steve but he always sort of looked like a Chris to you. You didn’t just write about him but other people too, your stories took off and were a good escape from your hectic life.
A car pulled up to you on your empty street and a short round man with a very stereotypical New Yorker accent shouted up to you, shaking you our of your memories
“Ay lady, are you” his beady eyes peered at a piece of paper “Y/N? Are you Y/N?”
           “Yes that’s me”
“Alright come get your unit, and not to be rude or anything but could you make it snappy? I got to make 15 more deliveries before the day is over.”
You slowly rose “Alright, I understand. However I paid for the delivery service? Aren’t y’all supposed to put it in my house?”
“Lady you paid for the delivery service, not the installation service. That's another fee.”
“I understand that” You replied still confused “ But I thought you would deliver it into my home.”
“No way lady, that’s the set up service. You paid for the delivery service. That's an entirely different fee.” He repeated.
“Understood” Your lips pulled into a flat line “Well sir could you at least help me get it into the first floor of my house?”
“Did you pay for transportation insurance?”
“….no…I didn-”  he cut you off “Well sorry Lady, I can’t help you.”
“You can’t help me off load this huge AC and just carry it up 7 measly steps with me?”
“Nope, can’t do it. It’s against company policy. Say I should look up at a pretty bird cuz the day’s so gorgeous and what not, then your unit slips out of my hand, there goes your cool breeze. Who’s gonna pay for that? Certainly not the company, cuz you didn’t pay for the transport insurance. That's a different fee. Now you’re angry at me, I mean technically it was my fault for being so clumsy and distractable and what not. But guess who else isn’t gonna pay? Me! Then guess whos gonna be upset and take me to court but loose horrifically because my brother in law just passed the bar? You! So lady no, I can’t help you. Why don’t you get one of the other tenants in the building to help you?”
“Well, not that it’s any of your business, but I own the brownstone and I live alone. So there’s no one that could help me.”
“You had enough money to get a brownstone but not enough to pay the fee?”
“Alright thanks whatever your name is. I’ll just take my AC Now.”
You looked at him while you struggled for 15 minutes just to get the AC out of the truck and the second you safely had it on the baking concrete of the curb you heard the back of the truck slide down and heard a door slam. You turned around to see the truck driver starting up the car and he shouted over the roaring engine.
“Thanks for shopping with Coole Breeze, your number one cooling solution  in the tricity area, have a frosty day!” and with that, he was off.
Even though you were wearing a  pretty airy romper and you did work out about 3 times a week, that was nothing against that heavy ass air conditioner and that Brooklyn heat. You put your hands on top your head and squinted up the sky. You again thank God your street was empty. You must have sweated out your Twist out and edges by now. You were convinced you were looking crazy. But hey, It was a Tuesday at 1. Everyone who was someone was at work, kids were in school so it was just you and this behemoth air conditioning unit.  Getting into classic Y/N calculations your decided what you were going to do. Yes, this AC was, technically for your room but you won’t be able to get it all the way up there by yourself right now so you can create a pulley system and pull it through the window. Huffing and puffing to your started mimicking your father.
‘Buy a fixer upper baby girl, it's a great investment. You could build your dream home and sell it eventually , it’ll be fun! Your brother and I will fly up there to help you whenever you need us or have free time. Matter of fact I’m pretty sure my army buddy Wilson still lives in New York…Not sure the part though. But I know he and his boy are engineers of some sort. I can even ring them up to help you when I can’t make it myself. This will be a terrific family project honey!’
“ Sure dad!” you shouted at no one in particular “ who’s going to help me now though?!” At least your mother had the foresight to buy you a fully equipped toolbox, 12 foot ladder and a whole bunch of things that a new homeowner/renovator needs. It took a bit of maneuvering but you were able to get the ladder out the door and down the steps. You were now atop of it, building and hammering away at a pulley system. You were determined to sleep in a chilly 50 degrees tonight, by any means necessary. You saw two men one white and one black, approaching from your left through your peripheral vision. You steeled yourself to any cat calling that may occur, from the angle - to what you had on, it wasn’t a good situation. You couldn't make out faces but you could see that one was visibly bigger than the other. They stopped walking a little behind you and you couldn't tell which one asked but you heard someone say
“Hi, do you need any help?”
“O fanks” You replied with a slight lift of your hand with a screwdriver hanging out the side of your mouth and a heavy covering of sweat on your forehead. Using the back of your hand to wipe the sweat off you removed the screwdriver from your mouth and cleared your throat then repeated “No thanks” In a clearer manner. Thinking to yourself how could these guys even help me? While screwing and grunting softly you weren’t mentally present. You were trying to solve the problem you created. You had written yourself into a corner and you were trying to figure out a way out of it. You started to get the thread of an idea that you were mentally trying to work into a tapestry for your readers, however, while still trying to flesh it out something else was fighting for your attention. In the back of your mind you heard his voice again.
“Are you sure? We may be able to be of better help than you thin-” Remembering your mothers call the night before talking about a movie she watched on lifetime where people in the ‘big city’ would help you get something into your house as supposed good Samaritans then come back and rob you, or do worse you decided against it instantly.
“Listen, thanks but no.” You huffed out “Apparently I paid for the delivery service and not the installation service as the lovely delivery man told me. This however does NOT include carrying my AC up the 4 flights of stairs to my bedroom because that's apparently another fee. So no, there isn’t anything you gentlemen could do for me” You heard a little chuckle behind you and heard a quieter deeper voice say:
“You have to pay the fees, that’s where they get you” his voice was full of laughter. He wasn’t outright laughing but you could still somehow hear it in his voice.
Momentarily forgetting you were on a ladder you whipped around to give the guy a piece of your mind. But all it takes is a moment. And in that moment, you were falling backward off a 12 foot ladder. Back, back, back, you go thinking this is how it would end. You dead on the concrete. You hadn’t been to china town yet! Why hadn’t you been to china town? Or the empire state building! OR the statue of liberty! You shouldn't have rushed your mom off the phone last night. You would have given anything to hear her aimless ramblings and numerous ‘be carefuls’ one last time. OH GOD! You hadn’t had sex in a year and a half! This is how you were going to die. Trying to tell off some harassers with an uncompleted house in your name before you started your dream job. You squeezed your eyes shut and braced for impact
Your body hit something that was hard like cement but was warmer and…. Somehow smelled like leather? And Christmas? And Home somehow? You opened your eyes to see a face partially obscured by a blue baseball hat pulled down over the front and a full beard. You couldn't see who he was and he was leaning in close to your face while he held you. There was something so familiar about him, but you couldn't place it. His voice kept fading in and out of your head.
           “Ma’am? Ma’am! Stay with me!”
Sounding like echos of screams and whispers bouncing off the inside of your skull all at once you blinked slow and mustered out what you could:
“Don't…Tell me what to do…Asshole” and everything faded to black.
_______________________________________________________________________
Okay guys! thats about it for the first one. I would really appreciate the feedback! Is this something you would want more of? Or should I move on to some other fic ideas I have? Let me know and thanks for reading!

Waffle and Kae Joint Recap 8/16
Hello Tumblr! We still exist! Children are hard for free time...amiright? GET READY FOR AN ACTUAL RECAP!
Waffle So we both decided that life was far too hard at the moment and it was time to give our child to the wolves for the weekend and run to NYC. (Not really, we dropped her with Gramma and Grandpa and came to down to see Noirtown) As long as we were sneaking away, why not stop by the McKittrick. We flew in Friday afternoon and had a drink at Gallow Green before heading down to queue up. There was a surprise happy hour in the Manderley so we were let in early which is always a pleasant surprise. We found some friends inside to pass the time with before the first elevator was eventually called. I have to say what an adorable and charming pair Elizabeth and Joseph make in the bar. They have great chemistry and are just a joy to watch.
Once inside, I headed to the ballroom which was in mid-scene. It was actually the only ballroom I would see in my 2 shows. Jenna’s Sexy witch did a great job of sucking me in with her creepy and seductive eye contact. I wasn’t sure where I was going to go but by the end of the ballroom, the glances and smirks had me hooked. I followed her up and got a Banquo couch duet all to myself. Jenna’s dancing is next level! This dance easily ranks in my top McKittrick dances. She quickly and gracefully disappeared behind the couch. The dance is breathtaking when done well and Jenna seemed to float through the air at every lift. When she was coming down from the bookshelf for the final kiss, she planted her foot on the couch in a way that was strong and invoked thoughts of a wild animal pouncing on her prey. She still clearly commanded the scene and Jack’s Banquo looked dopey and fooled until the final kiss.
The crowds have certainly gotten bolder and pushier the last few years. I would wager that some of it is what I refer to as the Shanghai effect. The cultural norms in Shanghai are much different than in New York. Personal space and following distances are much closer and fan culture is much more intense. The crowds certainly seem more aggressive then I remember years ago. Two shorter girls pushed in front of me when we all entered Agnes’ apartment and to be honest, I am years past the stage where I will push back at all or even stand my ground aggressively. The performers recognize people and know who is around most of the time. Sometimes that results in those people getting a 1:1 and sometimes it doesn’t. Either way, I am not in a place where I need a 1:1 to feel good about my show.
Jenna reached between the 2 and grabbed my hand to pull me in. The first half of the 1:1 was great but we hit a snag when we had a set malfunction which resulted in her not being able to open the proper door to exit Agnes’ apartment. It wasn’t for lack of trying! She gave me the jellybean before taking my hand and escorting me out to the entryway and back to High street. We watched Pil’s Fulton through the window for a while before he pulled open the door to the autopsy room. I wish I could have seen his face when there was no sexy witch waiting for him. She waited until he came back into the main office before forcefully pushing the door open and standing menacingly in the doorway. She backed Fulton up into the bookshelf behind his desk and proceeded to harass him. She retrieved what she needed then tossed Fulton onto High Street. Jenna’s bartop solo was also great like literally everything she does.
I didn’t feel like seeing the banquet so I headed up to 5. I love me a matron. I really love me a matron that is able to surprise me. I was delighted to find Ginger Kearns’ matron. The matron played a fun little game where she brought out a hand mirror and used it to watch me as I watched her. I love new, weird matron shit! I also love watching how people come and go. It’s oddly comforting watching other guests and pattens in the hotel. How there can be a mob of people and when you look up 30 seconds later, you are alone in a forest.
Tori’s Hecate is a powerhouse. She still unnerves me. She is in control of every moment that happens in the rep bar. She has a signature look she gives Agnes when she comes in looking for help. She smirks, quirks her eyebrow, and leans back in her chair sizing Agnes up. This Hecate is playing the long game and she is having the best time doing it.
I was very disappointed to find there were no red licorice bites in Paisley’s Sweet Shop. I begrudgingly settled for a fruit slice.
The other standout of the show for me was Doug’s Speakeasy. I like my speakeasy one of two ways...either a total jerk or fun and carefree. I want a puppy who either pisses in your shoe every time you come home 5 minutes late or I want the bestest boy ever! I used to call Nick Dillenburg Toolbox Speakeasy because his speakeasy was like a toolbag except also, the whole damn toolbox. I loved it. Doug’s speakeasy is mischievous and funny and adorable. He is a good boy. A loyal servant and a fun speakeasy. He did the most delightful little dance I have seen in ages during his downtime. I LOVED IT!!! He leaned back over his bar and did a little flip/roll to the other side at the start of it. Utterly charming! He also gets points for his cute little tap like dance on the pool table.
Once again, I hung back when it was time to do the shot game but he summoned me forward. I love watching the different variations on the game from performer to performer. He started with the 3 shots before laying out the cards face down. He made a show of flipping them until all the red Kings were facing up and only one card closest to us remained hidden. When he flipped it, it was a black King. He shuffled the cards before smirking and crouching down to continue shuffling while making noises consistent to hacking up a lung, presumably on said cards. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the ridiculous/disgusting nature of it. He came up and we all drew cards. The first person revealed a red King. Doug held out the shot and just before the person could reach it, he sent it flying over his shoulder into the wall behind him. The second person revealed a red King. Doug once again held out the shot and as the person reached for it, he slowly poured it out over the edge of the bar (probably on the white masks shoes). I revealed a red King. He held out the glass and as I reached for it, he drank it himself.
At this point, he pulled out the box with the whiskey shot. He slowly opened the top and took a big sniff of the contents. We were then invited to do the same. Round two. He narrowed it down to 2 red Kings and the black King. He reshuffled, complete with crouching and coughing. We all drew a card and when we turned them over, the man in the middle had won. He took his shot. Doug took a moment to stare at us all before reaching in and pulling out another shot of whiskey. He then reshuffled and dealt again. We turned over our cards a second time and the same white mask had won again. One game, two shots. Poor dude looked a bit ill by the end of it! We shook hands and the story moved on.
I spent a good amount of time in the bar this show because Elizabeth Lindsay is my absolute favorite. I considered going back in for the finale but in the end, decided that I was having far too much fun chatting which is a new thing for me. I wanted to close out my bar tab before the rush anyway because we had tickets to Bartchland Follies after the show. Would recommend! KaeLyn Hello, weirdos. It’s been a minute, both since we’ve been to the Hotel and since we’ve posted anything remotely resembling a recap. In fact, the formulaic recap era of SNM itself may have passed, as it seems fewer and fewer fandom posts about the show itself are being posted to the hashtag.
Also, I feel compelled to drop an explainer that we have some questions piled up in our inbox and I just want to say that we do see them and appreciate them, even if we don’t reply. Most likely if we haven't replied it’s because someone else either gets to them first (if, as it often seems, anons are sending those same questions to several old SNM tumblrs at once) or we just don’t see them for a long time because we don’t log in as much and it seems silly by the time we read them. Of course, sometimes we’re just not going to answer on principle (spoilers, rude, etc.). We are still here, queer, going to shows every few months when we can ditch our toddler for a weekend. You’re also likely to catch us at Mayfair or Halloween (Inferno VI? lol). Anyway, our flight home is delayed and we thought it’d be fun to attempt recaps while we were waiting. I imagine mine will come first because I have less to report and, well, Waffle’s recaps have always been more detailed than mine! On Friday, we checked into our hotel and set out to get a leisurely dinner at Ovest, always a good start to a long night in the Hotel. We arrived to the McKittrick around 6:00 PM for a quick drink at Gallow Green, then queued up at 6:30 PM, which I thought was aggressively too early for a 7:30 show, but lucky us–there was a happy hour! Apparently, a thing that’s happening on weekdays? So we were among the first to arrive at the bar, where we unexpectedly ran into some friendly faces from the fandom. One had snagged the corner booth already with some friends. The childfree weekend was off to a great start! It was only made better when Elizabeth (Virginia) showed up and surprised Waffle with a shoulder squeeze.
I rarely full loop these days. Especially after I passed the 100 show mark earlier this year, I have a very chill relationship with Sleep No More. I still look forward to each return, but each show is a slower burn for me and you won’t catch me running up and down the stairs. More often than not, I end up in the bar before the finale. It’s like catching up with an old friend. I find out what’s new. I reminisce on some favorite stories. I settle into a familiar pattern.
This particular night, I started at the ballroom because FOMO-motivated habits are hard to break. The night was kind of a greatest hits list, honestly, and I wish I could tell you I spent time with people I hadn’t watched before or picked up some stuff I hadn’t yet seen (like Doug’s speakeasy), but that’s not what happened. I stayed to watch Stephanie C’s bald witch (f*ck yes) and popped up to catch Nate’s boy witch at the phone booths on his way up to the pool table dance. (Maybe it’s my particular age showing, but Nate looks more like a member of a pop punk band that I definitely saw at Warped Tour in the late 90’s than Draco Malfoy to me. Either way, it works!)
So, I haven’t been lately and I just have to say that the Nick-Jenna-Stephanie witch trio is A+. Best witch coven energy I’ve seen in a while!I caught the first rave, standing near Tori’s Hecate to catch a bit of everyone’s performance (while the crowd was still light enough that I could also see the prophecy even at a distance). I popped up to five for a bit, which was obviously recently cleaned and freshened up. I actually did a full loop ballroom-to-ballroom with Parker’s porter. Then, I came out to the bar for a drink and chatted with folks out there for the duration of the show.
It was a standard McKittrick re-entry show for me, after a few months away, an all-around solid cast and show. We slid out at the end of the night to go up for the Bartschland Follies (which was superb and sexy and silly and so rad and fun and also had far more straight people who looked slightly scandalized front-and-center in the audience than I anticipated).

Tumblr media
YoOOOoooOOOo ok

Bruh where do i even start????
okay but imagine him in your school uniform??? i’m gonNA DIE
He’d either be the type to arrive at school early and wait for you at the gate or be 2 hours late with a bottle of chocolate milk in his hand
There’s no in between
Moving on-
Like when he’s at school he’d do stupid shit like stick post-it notes in your book when you’re not looking
They’ll have messages in them like
“Your hair looks hella good today”
“Are you a parking ticket because you got fine written all over you ;D”
“What’s the answer to question 4???”
“Yo I got some of your fav snacks today! Not including me ;))”
Sometimes draws diccs in your homework diary-
likes to put snacks in your bag when you’re not looking
When the bell rings for Morning tea/lunch-
The moment the teacher dismisses your class Lucas would grab your wrist and zoOOM to the canteen to get some orange juice before the line gets too long-
“LUCAS I CANT KEEP UP SLOW DOWN-”
“B!ITCH I DONT WANT TO WAIT IN NO LINE”
“you’re literally dragging me-”
“You should wear heelies next time-”
Whenever you leave your class late he always saves you a seat-
but if there’s none available-
“You can sit on my lap girly ;)”
“I’ll just sit on the ground-”
“nO wait-”
Insist on walking you to class even tho most of your classes are the same?? Like??? whats the point?
Tends to rest his elbow on your head
Likes to tease you and says mANY cheesy pickup lines-
“I may not go down in history, but I’ll go down on you ;))”
“You wanna be a shaWTy, shorty?”
“I’m sorry were you talking to me?” [You: Um yes i was No] “Well you should start ;)”
Plays pranks on you
When he sees you coming around the corner he hides and tries to scare you-
“Lucas I saw you hide-”
“bO0! Haha, I scared you didn't I? ;)”
“I could see your heAD”
Once put a whoopie cushion on your chair for a prank but almost got his ass beAT
When you tried to give him the silent treatment he threatened to snitch on you if you ignore him any longer
“I’ll tell Thaun you were the one that spilt orange juice all over his bag during lunch”
“omg Lucas why you so mean?? :((”
“I’m sorry I won't snitch if you quit ignore me :/”
“fine-”
“AWE YOU SO CUTE WHEN YOU POUT”
“please don't squeeze y/n so hard, you’ll break them” -Taeil
“Shut up Taeil! >:(”
Oh yeah he has friends!
Most of them are close to graduating :D
but for some reason Lucas likes to hang with some younger students that he calls dreamies???
“It’s because they still have dreams in life and aren’t as dead on the inside like use older students :)))”
#studyhardguys #prayforstudents
Is reALLY good friends with his guy name Mark??
They lowkey have their own language becauses these headasses always saying random things and "skRRt"+ other noises
they both literally laugh at anything and everything
the both of them once got kept back after class because they couldn’t stop laughing during science when they were dissecting frogs-
“omg poor pePE”
“hEHHeHhHEHE
*extrEME whEezing and coUGHing”
“lmAOO looks at this dude dance- fRICK i dropped the frog”
“duDE EHHEHhEhhAJJDHDICW”
“BRO DoNt slIPJHSIJHAHIDH”
“See me after class boys! :/”
Even tho this boy acts stupID AF
He’s really smart and puts a lot of effort into his studies and many of his classmates tend to dismiss his achievements :(((
Of course he’s a school athlete and joins after-school sports programs too
But he would definity put his studies first if he really needed to
after all he really wants to make his parents proud and be a good role model omg stop I dont this to angsty --
During special days like Valentines, Lunar New Years or your bday etc-
He likes to gift you special stuff and its like UWU
After spending 2 months spying on you whenever you unlock your locker so he gets your passcode he always leaves you shit gifts
Like when he got you matching rings on Valentine's day-
“Hey y/n check your locker :))”
“Did you fill it up with all of Chenle and Jisung’s chip bags again :/”
“How dare you think I would do the same prank again?? What do you take me for :((”
You’d open your locker and there was this box wrapped in aluminium foil-
“Why is it wrapped with tin foil??”
“I wanted it to look pretty and didn't have any shiny wrapping paper :(”
When you open it you literally almost punch Lucas in the face oOF
There were 2 silver rings in it with both of your names carved in them-
“ohmAGAH luCAS how much did this cost???”
“Just as much as our friendship ;))”
            “bRUH”
            “Happy Valentines!! <3333″
So yeeeeeee you guys wore some cuteass rings 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Whenever the term/semester is about to end and most of your classes has free time
He’d whiP out his portable speaker and Mark would connect to it and play some mAD tUnes bRO🤙🤙🤙
And our boy Lucas would be getting 🔥🔥🔥🔥
He’d be dancing on the tables-
Singing like his life depended on it-
“Lucas please get down you’re gonna dIE” -Jungwoo
“i’M a bAd bih y0U cAnt kILL mE”
*crash*
“that shi huRTED”
Overall Lucas most certainly be the class clown and bring joy to many people. He'd make friends really easily - whether they're fellow students (young and old) or the teaching staff - he just has natural charm :) Even though he lives up to his rep of being a crackhead most people don't take note of his hard work in his studies and sometimes it frustrates him but that okay because he learnt not to hold grudges. He’s a good student but also knows that life is short and likes to have fun and make people smile, even if he looks like an idiot doing it :’)) He would also liked to be reassured every now and then too.
This gif is so cute uwu

Long post about Lover Fest West, @taylorswift , and Christmas. It's a good one so please read!!!
You guys, I can not wait for Christmas!!! Not just because it's Christmas and all that comes along with the Holidays, but because my son will get to open an envelope with @taylorswift tickets to Lover Fest West. It's even more exciting because, like I've mentioned 1300 times in previous posts, I swore to him after his Dad and I got back from the reputation tour, Atlanta night 1, that he could go to the next album's tour. I made a whole post about what a big parenting no no that was, simply because I assumed(and ended up making an ASS of ME) she would do a normal tour or some semblance of a "normal tour schedule", and boy was I WRONG-O.
So, the most beautiful piece of art that has ever been released, you know a little album called "Lover", came out and pretty much immediately Jax, my son, started asking when the tour was.(he really started when ME! came out but it was ramped up once the album was released). To put this into perspective for everyone, if she was preforming at an awards show, he thought THAT was the tour and we missed it, if she did anything, like the BBC Radio 1 special, he thought we missed the tour again, and when he thought this, he would get upset, but not bratty upset, kinda like he was super upset but didn't want everyone to know. He's always been that way, we have a saying I have said since he was an infant "You get what you get and you don't pitch a fit". All along I explained those were just shows for TV or specials and the tour would be announced soon, and it when it was, and I PANICKED, I did more than panic I had a full mental breakdown. Mind you, my Husband is deployed. My Mom and Dad have both been pretty sick this year, Mom with Cancer, and Dad with a heart attack followed by full on Cardiac arrest and 2 heart surgeries within 15 days and now a pace maker. Also, I've gone through a lot of mental health problems this year while my rock, my Husband, was and still is deployed to the other side of the world. I've lost a lot of friends, and cried a lot of tears. It's been that kind of year, I feel confident saying that since January 6th of this year, I've had the worst year out of my 33 year life thus far. So the mental breakdown was a culmination of all things combined and then realizing that @taylorswift wasn't coming anywhere near us for a tour was just the thing that made me break. So after I put myself back together I was determined to fulfill this pinky promise I made to my son. I never want to break promises, and I've learned through this whole process not to make promises when I don't know if they are attainable lol. Thankfully I did the verified fan for the rep tour and was close to the front of the line for time slots to get tickets for that tour, so when Ticketmaster stated it would be similar this time around I was optimistic, I have family all over New England, I am from Rhode Island, and I knew I could make the Lover Fest East work. So of course I put that as my 1st pick and West as my 2nd. Well, by the time I got to choose our tickets, which btw was kind of a mess, my only option was CALIFORNIA. Y'all I live in the upstate of SOUTH CAROLINA. But, you bet your ass I got those tickets. No they aren't floor seats, like I got with the rep show, they are pretty high up and away, but my son will not care because he will be at a @taylorswift show.
Now, the reason I am so excited for Christmas is, my son knew when those tickets were going on sale. He came home from my Mom's, who had picked him up from school that day so I could sit infront of my computer waiting to get these tickets, and asked IMMEDIATELY if I got them and I did a cruel thing, I lied. I told him no, they were sold out, he was DEVASTATED, did not come out of his room except to eat and bathe and go to school for that entire week, and I wanted so badly to tell him I got them but I didn't. I did this because I still wasn't sure a trip to California was a possibility and didn't want to get his hopes up more than I already had and also because if the trip was possible I wanted to save them and all of it for a Christmas surprise due to the cost and everything. He has asked at least twice a week if I was sure there was no way we could go to this concert. It literally breaks his little heart he won't get to see "my Taylor Swift" as he calls her. Little does he know Santa has something for him, and he will be at that show. He also loves riding trains, so I booked us a cross country train trip and am gonna make it his summer vacation. He is going to be so excited to see these tickets and to hear how we are getting there. And the best part is he has no clue his dad is coming home in time for Christmas and is surprising him at school!! He thinks his Dad won't be home till February because that's what we were originally told, but it's been changed to December 8th or could be the 13th(I mean how coincidental is that?!?!). So we decided to keep it a secret from everyone, me and my Sister In Law are the only ones that know, so she can help me coordinate the family suprises. Eeeeekkkkk!!
So to say I am EXCITED FOR THIS CHRISTMAS is a huge understatement, but I do not know how to put into words the feeling I have for it! And after listening to @taylorswift explain kinda why her touring schedule isn't the norm on to Zane on Beats 1 , I FULLY UNDERSTAND and am surprised she's even touring at all. Sometimes, fans need to remember that you're favorite artist or entertainer is also a real life person with real life issues. I think we should all try to remember that as often as possible. And to @taylorswift I actually do pray for you and your family each night because much like you my mom is my best friend and I tell her everything and she's gone through cancer and is going through it again now, you can't help but imagine the worst, and that's ok, just don't sit in it, don't stay there. You know that though. Anyways, thank you @taylorswift for making my son's Christmas one he will never forget.
I AM SO EXCITED!!!

back from Finland and my nightmare flight situation got really fucking funny (and awful) at the end so I’m gonna tell you the whole goddamn thing. cut to save you from Airline Stories.
I mentioned in a previous post that I had to sprint through Heathrow to get to a flight, and it wasn’t my fault. that turned out to be just the beginning but here’s what happened.
airline randomly decided to change my flight to an earlier time
I found out about this from a 3 am text that I read at 8 am on my way to work
cool I have to leave work much earlier
I do that. it was about to rain in New York so it was a good goddamn thing. no subway delays at all.
I sit at the gate for a bit. an hour before boarding, there are still zero airline employees to be found
what the fuck.
I google my flight number. it is not at the gate I’m sitting at.
great.
I walk over to the new gate, the lady there explains “it got changed.”
fine. I’m still on time.
….
the flight is not.
the rain started while I was in the airport and New York is gridlocked, and they barely had enough flight attendants to take off
I check my flight information. I have a connection in Heathrow that’s an hour after my flight and my flight is delayed…you guessed it. an hour.
I’m definitely gonna miss my connecting flight
I accept this (I am on a lot of anxiety medication) to deal with when I get there (thank you, medication!) and go to sleep (so. much. medication.)
arrive in Heathrow
announcement on the plane says that the connecting flight to Helsinki is also delayed, and to see them up front if you are getting on that flight
so I talk to them
“they’re leaving at 8:20 (it is now 7:50), so you can make it but you have to BOOK”
me: “GOT IT.” *takes off*
*accidentally knocks off a baby’s blanket. does not stop, like an asshole. yells EXCUSE ME to every British person in the way, while elbowing them, I’m from fucking New York, MOVE*
“few people runnin' about” happens
gotta go through security first
lady at the desk spins her computer monitor to show me what it says when she scans my boarding pass: “please proceed directly to gate 9”
me: “TRUST ME I FUCKING KNOW”
someone in front of me for some reason has every glass bottle in the world, doesn’t speak enough English for the security people to explain that it’s fine so long as there’s  no food or liquid in them
somehow I get through and make it to the gate
“if you had been 10 minutes later you would’ve caught us, but you’re good!”
phew.
find out later that my family had a similar yet worse experience in Frankfurt. ha.
turns out that was only the fucking beginning. because I still had to come back. here’s how that went.
day 1:
I’m supposed to fly out Saturday at 3 pm. my brother is flying out Saturday at 7 am. Friday night, we are on our way to the BnB and I double check my email.
surprise! my flight has changed. now at 7 am.
ughhhhhhhhhh
fine. I’ll just go to the airport with my brother.
we do that. Air BnB host nice enough to wake up and drive us—for a price, but a pretty good one.
they had a sauna and I had to skip out on using it (I only got to do it once) and I was pretty upset. fuck you, airline.
get to the airport at the asscrack of dawn
I check my email in the car one more time
….
wait a second
the date on this is for Sunday
fuuuuuuuuuuck
screw it, I’ll wait around until their service desk opens and have them put me on a flight
1 hour: nothing
I try and call them. on a janky phone that has issues with phone calls
customer service is closed, because Europe
call the US number
customer service is open and in English but it rings a few times and then I get a message in Icelandic and it hangs up.
….I’m never flying a Scandinavian-based airline ever a-fucking-gain.
2 hours: nothing
fuck. this.
I start googling hotels by the airport instead. check into one. get a shuttle there. room itself isn’t too expensive, but not money I really have.
oh fucking well
I pass out.
wake up, have to leave the hotel to get lunch, come back and read Yuri on Ice fanfic
oh daaamn this hotel has a sauna
tight
get smoked reindeer pasta at the hotel restaurant
go to sauna again
go back the fuck to sleep
day 2:
airport shuttle at the asscrack of dawn but this time I’ve slept all day
feeling annoyed but optimistic. this will suck but at least I’m rested.
get to the airport
once again they have changed the airline on me. this was not self-evident in the email
haul my ass to the right terminal. thank fuck there are only 2.
that last sentence is foreshadowing
in line for getting my ticket (b/c of course I can’t check in at a kiosk) and two people in front of me are going through the same shit. airline answered their phone calls tho and promised them money back
feeling more hopeful
am now flying through Amsterdam. they can’t print my connecting flight boarding pass. I will have to get it printed at the airport when I get there.
there is only an hour between the flights
I am hit with a sudden premonition of doom
but am still hopped up on anxiety medication
here we go again!
make it to Amsterdam with no drama
phone battery is dying. my external battery stopped working abruptly and there’s no charger on the smaller planes. it wouldn’t charge at the gate; was plugged in but draining. I turn it off. charges 2%.
more foreshadowing
I get off the plane and have to ask where to go to get to the correct airline. someone directs me. it’s a different terminal. I run-walk over there, knowing what’s about to happen.
passport control. spend 5 minutes panicking that I don’t have an e-passport b/c I don’t know where to look for the logo. turns out it’s on the front cover! I’m a dumbass.
get there. can’t check in/print off boarding pass
oh boy
have to wait in line for a service rep
this wait takes 35 minutes
I get to the front. my seat reservation somehow does not exist
she manages to print off my ticket. and call them to tell them I’m coming.
looks me in the eye: “you run.”
me: “I run.”
I do that.
new gate is 2 more terminals away
Amsterdam is fucking big and I have now run across 3 terminals of it.
the Dutch are better at moving out of the way than the English
I make it to the gate and people are there yelling “New York? New York!!” make it on the plane. phone won’t charge. ...... great.
no podcasts for me! I watch a Stonewall documentary, a gay rom com, and a slew of nature documentaries.
at least I’m on brand.
make it to New York in one piece. meet a nice German lady and everything.
it was hell coming back here from Greece but from Scandinavia it’s fucking amazing.
anyway
slight panic after going through passport control. I handed them my receipt, promptly forgot I did that, then got my baggage and began looking for my receipt to show to the next set of cops.
receipt was gone
ummmmmm
I empty out my entire bag
nothing
I ask the lady next to me if they kept the receipt
she says yes they did and I nearly collapse. guess there’s no next set of cops this time around. it’s different every fucking time.
she sympathizes. we have a nice chat. she has family in Helsinki and just got back from Greece and Italy.
Scandinavians are not friendly. FUCK I missed New York.
because some people will assume otherwise if i don’t say so: it was not a white lady. I really really missed New York.
I manage to make it to my subway stop with no more drama than wondering why I’m the only person on the train
I realized literally this morning that it’s almost a holiday weekend. oops.
make it to my apartment door
they installed a new front door while I was in another fucking country
(there were issues with the old one)
sign on the door says go see the super. who never answers his door, only the phone.
my phone battery is now at 10%
….
super’s not answering his phone. or the door.
7%
text and call neighbors who live near me. leave messages. try not to panic.
feel raindrops
look up
there’s a storm cloud coming in
I hear thunder
this is the point where I started laughing
I try the super’s other number
“uhhh you changed the door”
 “you were sleeping!”
 “I was in FINLAND!”
“okay, give me a minute, I’m on my way”
5%
turn phone off
super appears. I am not soaking wet and laughing hysterically. yet. if he’d been any later it would’ve been another story
make it inside. plug in phone. it’s at 3%
answer all my family’s frantic texts, order food delivery, take a shower, go the fuck to sleep, and sleep 14 hours. felt fucking great.
go to work today because it’s 4th of July and if I don’t I’ll only be in for two days. oh well!

Taiwan Trip 2018
I’ve always been curious about what the heart of Asia can offer and by taking advantage of its government’s initiative for Free Visa to attract more tourists, it’s time to get to know this neighboring country.
I turned to AirAsia for cheap flights and got a good deal for Taiwan from Dec. 17-21. The dates are the best as they’re literally 1 week before the holiday break kicks off so I don’t need to worry about the “back to reality” dillemma that we get right after spending a holiday away from home then going back straight to work.
I did a lot of research by reading blogs and watching vlogs on Youtube. The information I got from the two mediums really helped me out in planning my 4 days trip. AirAsia flights to Taiwan from Clark are always at night so I only have 4 days instead of 5.
The next thing I did after securing my flight tickets, I looked for discounted hotels/hostels. I always turn to Agoda because they have the cheapest accommodation deals. Been booking hotels with them since 2016. I never had an issue and their customer service, although the queue is too long, you’ll spend a tantamount of time waiting on the line for a rep to attend to your concerns, is superb. Agoda also have the options for “pay nothing until” or “pay at the property”. I also considered looking through Airbnb but in the end, I found myself booking two accommodations via Agoda. Mind you, always read the reviews of people for that hotel you want to book. It will definitely help you decide if it’s the right one for you.
I also thought of booking activities, buy tickets and rentals online (aside from flight tickets) when planning my trip. I turned to two travel applications: Klook and KKday.
Klook:
-Rental of 4G Wifi Mobile Broadband I got on Sale. My usage is 5 days. The pickup location is right at the Arrival Area of Taoyuan Airport T1. It was an easy transaction, instructions on the Klook voucher is accurate. I presented the QR code on the voucher on my phone, my passport and Debit card (credit card can be used too). The card is required so when you loose or damage the device, they’ll charge you. Signed the receipt and that’s it! The device was low on power charge though, so I got to use it the next day but boy, it’s so fast! No lagging anywhere I go in Taiwan. The price shown below is for 1 day use only. So the price will multiply depending on how many days you’re going to use it.
Tumblr media
-Taichung World Flora Expo Ticket. This ticket is for the entrance fee of the three world flora expo sites. I’ll go into detail of the itinerary later on.
Tumblr media
KKDAY:
-booked a Day Tour Package for three tourist spots: Yehliu Geopark, Shifen and Jiufen.
Tumblr media
What you need to know for first time travelers in Taiwan like me:
1. If your arrival time and immigration process allows it, catch the airport MRT going to Taipei or any other places in Taiwan. Otherwise, take a bus or Uber or Taxi. I was lucky to catch the MRT. MRT Airport Operating hours: 6am - 12am only.
2. Purchase the Easycard. It’s going to be your bestfriend in going around the city and neighboring states/provinces. It costs NTD$500 - there is a NTD$100 fee so your balance on the card will be NTD$400. The Easycard can be used both in MRT and Bus. This is available to purchase at any Information booth in MRT stations. Taiwan has a very systematic and easy to understand transportation system so I’m really happy about it. It’s so easy going up and down stations to your destinations.
Tumblr media
3. It’s December, it’s Winter. Do you need to wear a jacket? I would suggest to search for the weather forecast from the duration of your stay. In my case, it never rained. It was sunny. The lowest temperature I experienced was just 17degrees Celcius -at night. Temperatures tend to get low at sun down. During the day, while wearing a fleece jacket, puffer jacket and a sweater, met with humidity and highest temp of 28degress Celcius, I got too sweaty!! So on my last day in Taiwan, I was wearing a sando and shorts. No sweat, no cold feeling though I attracted attention for wearing differently. I can’t help it, I’m a tropical island girl so 17, 20, or 28 degress are not cold enough for me except when I’m about to have my period, my body temps get low, I’m shivering at 20 degress at the office aircon. Lol. But you will notice the Taiwanese people are still wearing layered jackets I think it’s because they just got used to wearing those clothing during Winter months. And anyway, most of the year, it’s raining in Taiwan and the rain adds to the cold temperature so yeah, maybe that’s the reason. I was just lucky I guess that the duration of my visit was sunny, no rains at all.
4. Taiwanese are very friendly, accommodating and helpful that in spite of language barrier, they will proactively help you out when they see you confused or trying to figure out which way to go. That alone made my journey very easy and I really felt safe there.
5. Speaking of language barrier, taxi drivers speak little to no English and they’re having a hard time understanding what you’re trying to say. So I suggest that you prepare an address of your destination that’s written in Chinese. When I was going to the hostel from Taipei Main Station, the taxi driver was clever enough to call the hostel to get the address in Mandarin.
6. There’s plenty of climbing and walking from stations to stations and hiking trails. So you must wear comfortable shoes, and you should be an active person to prevent yourself from suffering painful legs and knees.
7. Get a copy of the Taipei Metro Guide pamphlet. It will help you navigate which train line to take to get to your destinations. You can get it from the Information booth or train officers around the stations. You can also get a soft copy online at english.metro.taipei -just type it as it is on your web browser.
Here’s my detailed itinerary..
Day 1. A DIY trip I planned:
Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial
Elephant Mountain
Mala YuanYang Hotpot
Chun Shui Tang Milk Tea
Maokong Gondola
Longshan Temple
Taipei 101
Ximending
Shilin Night Market
What I actually able to fulfill: all of the above except the ones written on RED. Yes. I ran out of time, I wasn’t able to squeeze them to the schedule.
Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial - this is just a walking distance from the hostel I stayed in. No entrance fee as it is a public place. I was in awe at how huge those traditional structures are and how spacious the whole park is. It’s magnificent! Also, the Exit 5 of the Chiang Kai-Shek MRT station is right in the compound.
Tumblr media
Elephant Mountain - it’s a hiking trail where you can get a great view of Taipei 101 and the city from afar. It is a popular destination for both locals and tourists alike. This is where my knees got in real trouble, I could use a wheelchair! The steps are too steep going up, I was not able to finish the trail and get to the boulders because my legs, specially my knees were giving up. This is the price to pay for not being an active person. Though, there is a spot, a balcony where you can already take a photo and see the city from there without going up to the boulders. That’s where I stopped and got the below 2nd photo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How to get here: from any MRT station in my case, Chiang Kai-Shek Exit 4 station, take the RED line to Xiangshan station and go to Exit 2. From Exit 2, go straight to the park then turn left at the end of the park, go straight then turn right. Continue walking straight until you see the sign on the above photo on the left side of the street. When in doubt, just Google then look for the result from “Guide to Taipei”. Tried pasting the link here but this silly tumblr can’t save it, the app crashes.
Mala YuanYang Hotpot at Ximending - took a lunch at this unlimited hotpot that is popular to tourists. This place gets really crowded mostly by Korean tourists. The lunch costs NTD$545 and dinner is NTD$635. You can have unlimited premium meats, seafood and other hotpot essentials, unlimited drinks with plenty of varieties and this is the most exciting part: unlimited Häagen-Dazs and Movenpick ice cream!!! Aside from other desserts like fruits, puddings and egg tart. The only limited though, is time. Your lunch and dinner is limited to only 2 hours. It is located in Ximending which is also happens to be Taipeis shopping district. So in this stop, I was able to hit two places in one go. And I think Ximending is livelier at night. So if you want to get dinner instead of lunch at Mala Hotpot, then I think that’s a better idea.
Tumblr media
How to get here: Ximen station is your drop point station. It is in the Blue and Green lines as it also serves as the transfer station for Green line. Blue line has transfer stations from Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center station and Zhongxiao Fuxing station from the Brown line, Taipei Main Station from the Red line, Zhongxiao Xinsheng from the Orange line, and Ximen station from the Green line. From where I was at Xiongshan station of the Red line, I dropped off the Chiang Kai-Shek station then transferred to the Green line and stopped at Ximen station.
Taipie 101 - the most famous landmark of Taiwan. It’s astonishing! Since it’s sunny on the day I went up the Taipei 101 Observatory, I was able to see the whole city, crystal clear! What I forgot to do though is to get to the 91st floor observatory. The main observatory is at the 89th floor and it took us 37seconds to get there from the 5th floor where the ticket for the observatory is being sold at NTD$600 per person. It is indeed the fastest lift!
Tumblr media
How to get here: Take the RED line going to Taipei 101/World Trade Center station.
Maokong Gondola - it’s a gondola ride with three mountain stops. The last stop is the Maokong village where there are a bunch of tea shops. It is better to get there before sunset to see the city sunset while enjoying a tea. Unfortunately in my case, I got to ride the gondola past 5pm. Night time comes early at 5pm. But I get to see the city at night while riding the gondola and enjoying the cold breeze.
How to get here: from Taipei 101 station which is in the RED line, take the same line to Daan Park station which is the transfer station for the Brown line. Take the Brown line going to Taipei Zoo station. From Taipei Zoo staition, just follow the signs that leads to the Maokong Gondola. It will cost you a total of NTD$200 for a round trip from the gondola.
Chun Sui Tang Cultural Tea House - based on Google search, it is the one that started the Milk Tea craze! They also have the Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup which is also a famous Taiwanese dish. Hitting two birds with one stone. This is where I had my dinner. The milk tea tastes bittersweet which I really like. The beef noodle soup tastes good too! The servings are huge!
Tumblr media
How to get here: Take the Red line going to Chiang Kai-shek station. Go to Exit 5. The restaurant is located just under the stairs of the Chaing Kai-Shek Concert Hall.
And that’s a wrap for my first day in Taiwan. My next posts will detail my journey for the rest of my 4 days in the country.

My Journey to Try to Meet Tay
So, I put together this thread on Twitter not long before my first Rep Tour date (Columbus, OH 7.7.18) and it got quite a bit of attention in the Swiftie fandom (as of right now, I believe the original thread is up to 113 retweets and 242 likes, which is A LOT for little old me). I am trying to get @taylorswift & @taylornation to see it, and maybe...just maybe....this story can finally get its happy ending before I am finished with my rep tour dates. I figured in order to increase my chances of getting it seen, I’d write it all out here on tumblr as well, and maybe some of you very sweet fellow swifties will reblog, tag Tay, etc. I’d truly appreciate it. My next show is Atlanta Night 2, and then I will be in Nashville as well.  Here we go, an overview of all of the times I have gone out hoping to meet @taylorswift:
1) 2007 - Country Concert Festival Fort Loramie, OH - I was 15 years old, and Taylor was the earliest act of the day and only had like a 30 minute set. I begged my parents to let me go with my boyfriend at the time just to see her play. There were only like 3 people in the crowd who knew her songs! I’d been following her Myspace (LOL) so I knew already that she loved interacting with her fans, and I waited by her tour bus opposite side of a gate for over an hour before a security guard eventually told me that she was not going to be coming over, that I was pathetic for waiting so long, and that I need to leave. I started crying, and my boyfriend made us go.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2) 2008 - Country Concert Festival Fort Loramie, OH - Taylor got invited back! A slightly later slot, but it was on Sunday which a lot of people don’t stick around for (the festival actually has since cut the day entirely). My high school bestie and I were there though with a poster baring Tay’s lyrics and screaming every word to the songs she played. I don’t have photos of our posters because some drunk girl stepped on it after we had accidentally dropped it and ended up ripping it pretty bad. We waited by the buses after her set for quite awhile before we were eventually told by security that she had to catch a flight to NY or something and wouldn’t be coming out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3) 2009 - Defying Gravity Tour - Taylor was opening for Keith Urban and a group of my friends and I got tickets to just to see her! I got to meet Mama Swift for the first time, but didn’t meet Tay. I wasn’t really surprised because there were so many of us in our group, and this was before her headlining days so we didn’t even really know if there’d be a chance or not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4) 2009 - CMT Awards Nashville, TN - I bought tickets when it was announced that Taylor would be performing, and drove to Nashville from Ohio (with my older sisters accompanying me because I was only 17 haha). I got to meet a lot of celebrities actually outside of the venue beforehand, but not Taylor, and my phone also died before the show so I didn’t get any photos.
Tumblr media
5) 2009 - Fearless Tour Columbus, OH - Nothing crazy happened this day, really, but it marked the beginning of Natalie and my’s ongoing Taylor concert bond! Taylor also came this close to us during “Hey Stephen” and touched my hand as she was walking back to the stage!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6) 2009 - Fearless Tour Indianapolis, IN - A random guy-friend of mine ended up with an extra floor ticket to the show and invited me so of course I said yes! I saw Mama Swift again, and she actually remembered me and “all my jean skirt, cowboy hat friends” from Cincinnati (the keith urban show!) -- I was shocked, and she is so sweet that she upgraded us from our back-of-floor seats to the pit!
Tumblr media
7) 2010 - Fearless Tour Cincinnati, OH - My friend and I arrived to the venue at like 10 A.M. the day of the show, and we brought a scrapbook we had made for Taylor. It ended up raining and still we stood outside (trying to protect our book lol) for nearly five hours across from the tour buses/loading area. Eventually someone from Tay’s team came out and gave us pit passes and took the book promising to get it to Taylor. I still have no idea if she ever saw it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8) 2013 - The 13 Hour Meet & Greet Nashville, TN - This is the hardest day to talk about of them all...We came from Ohio and walked around the event ALL DAY (totaled about 10 hours) trying to be picked by Taylor’s team members and we watched fans meet Taylor all day from this close to us. We never were picked, and eventually we left/gave up once they announced the last meet & greet wristbands had been handed out. It was honestly heartbreaking because this event had our hopes up so high, but Taylor is truly an angel for meeting SO many people that day, and I don’t fault her at all. Plus, we did get to enjoy a free acoustic set!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9) 2011 - CMA Fest Nashville, TN - At an event this big, we truly didn’t expect to meet Taylor, but we still had an incredible time supporting her as a CLOSING act of the festival!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
10) 2011 - Speak Now Tour Indianapolis, IN - We had SOOO many glowsticks haha but it worked somewhat! Taylor’s team came up to us in our literal nosebleed seats and gave us pit passes! It was an amazing experience, but we still didn’t get to meet Taylor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
11) 2011 - Speak Now Tour Cleveland, OH - This concert was the VERY NEXT NIGHT from the previous entry in this story! Two out of three of us (Natalie and I of course) made a back-to-back trip from Indianapolis to our hometown (2 hours each way) and then to Cleveland immediately (4 hours each way) to see Taylor again in our same get-up from the night before. We had floor seats this time, and there were these two precious little girls in front of us who kept standing on the chairs in order to see and getting scolded by security. It was breaking my heart that them (or their parents who kept trying to hold them but they were heavy as like seven year olds) couldn’t truly enjoy the concert. Since we knew what the setlist would do, we told the family about Taylor’s “b-stage” songs she’d sing later closer to us. I saw Andrea and told her what was going on, and she said I looked familiar haha I gave her a brief overview of shows I’d been to and when we’d met and she said, “so of course, you’ve met Taylor” or something along those lines and I truthfully said “no I haven’t.” She had me go get the family and brought all of us into the sound-stage/b-stage private area for Taylor’s set there and for the rest of the show. The family was so excited and when Taylor came down from the stage, she hugged those little girls on her way out to the crowd and when she was hugging these other girls in front of us, she extended her arm to half-hug us at the same time. I CRIED A LOT.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
12) 2013 - Red Tour Columbus, OH - At this point, we tried to up our costume game lol we went for the “22″ music video look. We were pretty happy with it! We didn’t get noticed by anyone for anything at this show, though. Nothing crazy happened, but as always any night at a Taylor Swift show is magical and memorable <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
13) 2015 - 1989 Tour Louisville, KY - OOOO Lucky #13 ;) This really was a lucky show. We went to the @taylornation booth and they were impressed by how many shows we’d each gone to, and when I told them all about my Master’s Degree Thesis (I wrote it entirely on Taylor just a few months prior, and had just earned my graduate degree about a month before this show!). They were really intrigued by this and kept asking for all sorts of details lol when we left the booth, we barely made it far away before one of the girls from TN was chasing us down. My heart was beating SO FAST. She asked if we’d like to enjoy Taylor from the pit that night instead of our ticketed upper-level seats. OF COURSE! We didn’t get offered Loft ‘89 that night, unfortunately, which once we’d been upgraded we didn’t expect. Although, some girls nearby us did get upgraded and then later given Loft as well. Props to them! This was still one of my favorite show experiences and memories, especially because I heard the “Clean” speech for the first time and I REALLY needed it at this time in my life. A lot of tears were shed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
14) 2015 - 1989 Tour Gillette Stadium, MA - We won tickets to this!! Couldn’t believe it. Four of us got to go, and we drove TWELVE HOURS (it actually ended up being like 14 after traffic and stops etc haha) to go to this. This was one of the costume get-ups I am the most proud of. When we got to the TN booth, there weren’t any of Taylor’s team working it (I guess it was stadium employees taking pics idk). We did our best to stand out during the show, but we didn’t get to meet Taylor. I actually heard that there may not have even been a Loft that night, but there had been at the previous night Gillette show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
15) 2015 - 1989 Tour Columbus, OH - We loved our outfits for this, we were BAD BLOOD AF!! We didn’t get noticed in any way this night, though. Taylor was still amazing as per usual and it was my last time seeing the 1989 Tour. We did, however, cry on the drive home feeling defeated yet again....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
16) 2018 - Reputation Stadium Tour Columbus, OH - Just recently added this one because I’m one show into the Rep Tour and have still not met Tay. My first show of the rep tour required me to drive 6 hours from Nashville (I moved here in 2016), but I was so excited that the drive there flew by! I’ve really been working hard to get noticed on social media this era (as you’ve seen everything above wasn’t working for me). I thought maybe this twitter thread was finally enough to get attention from Taylor/TN, so I honestly got my hopes up more than I should’ve about getting a DM for pre-show. I’m still not totally sure what was going on, but it seemed that there wasn’t as many pre-show DM’s as usual and maybe the process is changing (or the holiday impacted it idk still really). Not that I thought I was a shoe-in or anything for a pre-show M&G, but the situation did make me feel like my shot of meeting Taylor now was definitely low. We were absolutely in AWE of every aspect of this show, though, let me tell you. I wasn’t disappointed in any way by Taylor’s production. Wow. Just wow. We also were unexpectedly right next to one of the B-stages so Taylor was so close during that part of the show! I cried my eyes out to the “Long Live” & “New Year’s Day” mash-up because of my new long live tattoo and because NYD has significance to me and my relationship. Unfortunately, I ended up feeling AWFUL like a majority of the show though (like sick) and it got worse about halfway through.I spent a lot of time trying not to throw up or miss any of Taylor performing, and I toughed it out, but it wasn’t the way I wanted to experience the show. I ended up having to sprint past everyone with Natalie’s help to make it to a bathroom and throw up and I felt awful our whole hour drive back to Natalie’s house. It’s honestly probably good I didn’t get picked for post-show rep room because of how bad I felt! ANYWAY I’m still sad it didn’t happen for me, but I am hopeful that it wasn’t the right time and my time with Taylor is still coming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
CONCLUSION: I am not in anyway ungrateful for the @taylorswift experiences I have had thus far. I know I have gotten more from Andrea and @taylornation than many have. Some people haven’t even gotten to see Taylor live! I know that, BUT my DREAM since before section #1 here has been to meet Taylor and thank her in person for everything she’s helped me get through. So if it’s possible in anyway to make this happen so I can tell her that, show her my tattoos she’s inspired, tell her about my thesis, etc....it’d mean the world to me.

Letter to you <3 Taylor
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first time i heard who @taylorswift @taylornation was was in church summer school. Tear Drops on my guitar was my little song on repeat on my ipod nano. Thats when i fell in love.
You were all I talked about in middle school. Those times were rough as i was discovering myself. People started to define who I was before I knew who i was. Six grade, people called me “gay”. I didn’t even know what gay meant LOL.
But you were one of the reasons why that didn’t really matter. As the bullies continued you music and you was all i talked about. Everyone thought i was super annoying.
I remember when i was in 7th grade and Fearless tour was sold out, I bought a little radio from Walgreens and hid in the bathroom during class to call the radio stations to win tickets. I was very very close but never won. The lengths I went through to go to your show in HP Pavilion in San Jose.
Speak Now was my first ever show, I made the exact sign “Taylor Swift 13″ and I made sure it was lit all night, i even bought extra batteries and changed it during breaks, keep in mind i used around 30 batteries for these lights.
Then Red was my second show! brought the same sign and it was in Sacramento, and I found people to drive me all the way there from San Francisco in 10th grade.
1989 tour came along, you came for 2 days and I made sure i attended both! I danced my ass off it was the best night ever with mom and friends. Hella girls took pics with me. I was so sore but it was worth it.
Your reputation album actually came out on my birthday and it was something i looked forward the most.
I literally listen to you every day from Taylor swift to fearless, to speak now, to red, 1989 and rep.
I literally went to POPTOPIA in San Jose to see you before your REP Tour and it was amazing.
Before i started college in 2018 fall, I actually became a victim of sexual assault, I had help from people in getting through it but knowing that you got thru it and got the justice you deserved gave me the courage to do the same.
At my first semester at UC Berkeley, in my media classes, I literally write all my academic papers about you. All the students in my classes are aware that I rave about you and your work and your journey in discussions. I even get my grad school instructors to play your LWYMMD Video and we dissect the meaning of it.
You make school fun because I get to talk about YOU.
Rep tour came, I had VIP Center pit the first night, i went alone and it was the best day ever, I never expected to see you this close. I worked my ass off to afford these tickets. I met some great people too!
Rep day 2 - I brought my mama and my best friends. My mom loves you and we bond a lot over you. She raves about your show and all her asian friends say they never seen concerts like yours before.
Im SUPER EXCITED to come to Arlington Night 1! I was fortunate to find time and fly to Texas from SF to come see you one last time. Center Pit again.
I just wanted to say that I cant believe I got to see you grow as an artist and person. You have made a profound impact in my life with your music and your artistry. My grandparents always talks about you and calls you the “country girl” every-time they hear you on the radio as i drive them to do errands. I remember showing your music videos and tour vids in their room at night. Also how they help me with craft projects for your concert.
Your music helps me get thru my day. I literally dream about you all the freaking time. How i bump into you in the streets and i’d be freaking out and how i have conversations with you about life. Literally my wildest dreams.
Every time an album came out, you on a magazine cover, posters, vinyls and what not, GIRL you for sure know i own like 2 -3 copies each.
I also love singing your songs on piano and guitar. YOU were the reason why i learned guitar in middle school.
Your profound impact on me will last forever in my lifetime. I cant wait to see you again in Arlington. <3
Love your #1 Fan,
Victorio

werd. it meme, kayla, with yet another muse. this is my bad bitch josie, lets get to know her shall we
Tumblr media
「 ISKRA LAWRENCE, CISFEMALE, TWENTY-FOUR, JESY NELSON. 」┈did you read that latest viral gossip issue on JOSIE PRYOR? she is the VOCALIST in ETHEREAL, one of my favorite POP groups. they’ve been releasing music for ONE YEAR now, but viral gossip has only been talking about them for the last YEAR. get this, i think i heard SHE MARRIED A STRANGER IN LAS VEGAS. they’re known as the THE CATACLYSMIC of the music industry, since they have a rep for being BENEVOLENT but TENACIOUS, but who knows. maybe that will change once they become #1.
firstly im gonna apologize if this is all over the place. im gonna try to organize it but i cant make any promises.
BASICS
full name is josephine iridessa pryor, but goes by josie for the most part
named after her maternal grandfather, joseph.
originally from tallahassee, florida. ur basic suburban middle class white family. one older sister. her mom owned her own bakery and her dad was a paralegal.
ex high school cheerleader
one tough cookie
AESTHETIC
leather jackets, skin tight jeans, fishnets, roses with the thorns still on the stem, red nail polish, fangs, messy hair, scars covered by tattoos, the moon at midnight, high heeled boots, dancing like nobody’s watching, and structured handbags.
HEADCANONS (?)
literally ppl are always like “josie can’t sing. she’s inconsistent.” or “she’s the ugly one” or rlly mean Ugly comments about her body and just general ugly body shaming. like she Knows she’s not the same size as her bandmates but like ???? she loves herself??? it took her a long time to get to this self love level and she loves her girls so she’s always telling people to fuck off
literally gets in trouble with management for telling body shamers in her comments or ppl that are generally rude to her and/or ethereal to fuck off. probably has blocked some accounts (even stan ones sdscdcs) like jesy has
cute but will 1000000000000% fight u if u make her mad, say bad things about ppl she cares about, or start body shaming
body posi, self love, and self care activist and supporter of the #metoo movement as it relates to her past
since her mom had a bakery, she worked there in hs and knows her way with cupcakes
hates wine & has never done hard drugs
i rlly cant stress enough how she will fight anyone and everyone for being an asshole
Straight (shes like my only straight character it’s Wild)
never had a serious relationship because she’s always been guarded but she has been in love, or at least thought it was love
curvy > plus sized bc she is by no means “plus” and knows this. by measurement/fashion standards she is between straight size and plus, so just go with curve/curvy
DETAILS (?)
TRIGGER WARNING FOR BODY/FAT SHAMING & SEXUAL ASSAULT:  josie’s curves developed faster than other girls her age, so even in like 6th grade ppl were calling her rlly ugly names because her hips had grown and saying things about her, even going as far as slut shaming and oversexualizing her developing body like gross. around this time someone she thought was a friend would repeatedly touch her without her permission (also she was like 13 and knew absolutely no better than ‘uh he’s my pal so i guess it’s alright if he touches between my legs when i dont want him to). it rlly tore her down and she felt like she was nothing. that low self esteem rlly followed her into high school. the bullying kinda morphed more into unwanted glares from boys, girls calling her a sl*t, and ppl just being generally mean because of her body shape. her sophomore year she tried out for the jv cheerleading squad bc she really just wanted to be involved and have school spirit, plus she had a friend who was doing it. things were rad, she made the team, all was good, she rlly liked it and even wanted to go out for varsity the next year. junior year came around and she was on jv again, but their coach ended up quitting so the trainer stepped in. he was nice to all the girls bc he’d known them and was working with them but rlly this was just grooming tbh, like he kinda made it seem like he was hte only one in their corner if they were having problems. she got a weird feeling from him but folks were just kinda like “eh you’re over-reacting, it was just a hug” but when they went away to cheer camp it was like damn what a change. he got a little bit violent and ut was just generally a Not Fun experience, like yelling at the girls and embarrassing them to the point where other coaches and such were like “uh he needs to chill tf out”. to make everything worse one of the nights he knocked on the door of the room josie was staying in, saying he wanted to talk to her, she let him in and long story short he got handsy. when she told school authorities what happened, it was her word against his, but after testimony from teammates about his behavior at camp and everything, the school gave him an ultimatum: resign or be fired and go to court.. lmao guess which he took. so basically he got away with molesting her and being an abusive bag of dicks. END OF TRIGGER
for a long time she blamed herself bc she thought she was too naive or maybe if she hadn’t opened the door, or it was all her fault and she let it happen. sometimes she still has self doubt moments where she thinks about “but what if....” or she says “at least it wasn’t as bad as...” she’s very passionate about the metoo movement tho, and abusers being held accountable for their actions (no matter their gender or sexuality)
she doesnt really talk about what happened in detail, but she has been vocal about the metoo movement and she stands with her #MeToo sisters because she’s been there
since cheer was like “aha nop never again” senior year she got involved in the drama club. she’d sang in church choir before, but nothing Super Serious. but the fall production of grease really caught her eye, so, she auditioned and voila, Sandy.
after graduation, she started community college in musical theater, still working at the bakery but she fuckin wanted to leave florida (dont... we all??) so she used the money she saved from the bakery, bought a one way bus ticket, and ended up in austin texas... not exactly where she wanted to be, but it was out of florida.
she started singing at bars and trying to get involved with local small theater productions/companies, but that really just was not cutting it. so she asked her dad for some moolah and she moved to los angeles. for a long time she lived in a very very shitty apartment complex (if u rememerbr YEARS ago there was a show on the cw called the complex... it was about struggling young actors/musicians living in one place.. lowkey it was good but it got cancelled before season 2 wow shocker amirite) her agent was kinda bad, like joey’s from friends, but the one thing he got right was booking her an audition for a new girl group that a label was putting together. and boom, ethereal.
AS for the vegas thing lmAO.... i’ve been feeling like it was kind of recent. like, ethereal had already formed or was right at the beginning of the four girls coming together. (i still gotta work out those kinks) but essentially she went to vegas and on a Wild night, married a stranger. all she remembers from the memory clips are they met at the casino, there’s a chapel, back in her hotel room, a charge on her credit card for the honeymoon room service package, and the next morning she woke up alone in bed with a huge fuckin headache and a cheap ring on her finger. she was 22 and dumb. but aint we all?? she’s still technically married, but does NOT wear a ring or talk at all about having a husband because she doesnt know the dude. like literally can’t find him lmao, can’t find him to get that shit annulled or file for divorce. therefore, technically married.
SOME WANTED CONNECTIONS
i dont have a Ton but some that i’d love to have established are a mentor (probably someone who is older or more accustomed to fame), a roommate or ex-roommate (could be multiple), a celebrity crush (again, probably more fmaous), someone she tells everything to (they’d probably know about the vegas thing and her history regarding sexual assualt)
other than that, hmu or like this if u wanna plot??? im down for anything????

For the writing 1, 2, 7
1: Describe the plot of your current WIPs in a single sentence each.
Ohmigawd…that’s hard…okay, let me make a list real quick.
The 12th Camellia: an autistic queer Mormon girl has to rescue her sister when her sister ends up trapped in their favorite VR MMO; Six of Crows meets Sword Art Online.
Bare Not Your Heel to the Coward’s Arrow: world-hopping fanfic to fix all the dumb shit that happens in CW’s Arrow
A Little Black Book and a Little Black Dress: World-hopping fanfic to fix all the dumb shit that happens in The Blacklist
Blow Northerne Wynde: a queer autistic woc Mormon girl and her sentient starship get hurled through a wormhole that takes her back to our time, followed by alien invaders who have seeded Earth with sleeping kaiju they intend to wake up to exterminate us; Pacific Rim meets Outlander, sort of.
The Edge of Darkest Devotion: Sequel to a finished fanfic about Loki’s motivation/redemption/character journey in Thor 1, Avengers 1, and afterward.
Empress of Ice and Oceans: Hades and Persephone, but using Yoruban and Russian mythology and starring two black leads.
Eidolon: If Romeo & Juliet were both Batman-esque vigilantes working for the Crown when the ghost of a homicidal necromancer and Jack the Ripper attack magical AU London.
Facets of Snow and Frost: World-hopping fanfic to fix all the dumb shit that happens in the MCU/MTCU.
Glass: industrialized magical urban fantasy version of Alice in Wonderland with a lot of gay poc kids fighting against the ridiculousness of a prophecy that says the female lead is going to be the dark ruler that will plunge the magical world into a new Dark Age.
Hallows: A genderfluid goddex tells the story of how they were kidnapped and forced to fight as a magical gladiator, then was blackmailed into betraying their home when they fell in love and their wife was used as a hostage against them (they’re telling their sister while rotting in a prison cell, but the sister doesn’t know if she believes them).
House of Gears: Teenage Jewish Cinderella’s little sister is kidnapped by the bogeyman, so she must crash a steampunk monsters’ ball with the help of her former not-so-imaginary friends (including a genderfluid Princex Charming/Sleeping Beauty and a lesbian fairy godsister) to get the sister back.
In the Dark of the Night and the Hour of the Wolf: Redemption fic for Hela from Thor Ragnarok (female villains almost never get the redemption fanservice male villains do). Ties into “Edge of Darkest Devotion.”
King or Captain, Sinner or Saint: World-hopping fanfic redeem Killmonger, ties into Facets.
The Lightning Bleeds Scarlet and Gold: World-hopping fanfic to fix all the dumb shit that happens in CW’s Flash (like Magenta losing her powers, Iris and Barry taking so long to get together, Barry’s dad dying, stuff like that). Ties into Bare Not Your Heel.
Once in the Winter’s Tide: Fanfic set between Winter Soldier and Civil War that ties X-Men, Blade, Spider-Man, and other things into the MCU, starring Bucky and a mutant woman with 4 kids and a dangerous secret. Ties into “Darkest Devotion.”
Once Upon a Time: Redemption fanfic for Nuada Silverlance, the villain from Hellboy 2.
A Palace of Ink and Stardust: Autistic woc Mormon girl falls in love with a changeling at her school and has to come to grips with being bisexual and Mormon (cute wlw fluff all around, with magic).
The Silver Princess: A bi Mormon healer’s apprentice falls in love with an Elven princess and the princess’s twin brother, while all three of them have to deal with a war brewing between humans and fae. All the queer poc rep.
Snow White, Blood Red: World-hopping fanfic to fix all the dumb shit that happens in Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, starring an autistic woc, a trans woc, and their gay best guy friend.
Yes, I have ADD. No, that’s not a joke.
2: Do you have anything published? If so, where?
I’ve published several short stories and a poem. I’ve self-published my first two books, but they were heavily whitewashed at the insistence of the agents who originally repped them and I didn’t realize at the time how problematic that was (although I knew it was annoying af) so I’m rereleasing them fully restored to their original poc (and for the most part queer) glory when I have the time.
As for my short stories, you can find my latest in the anthology Tomorrow’s Cthulhu, on my Patreon, or in the anthology New Legends: Caster - Castle - Creature.
7: What was the first novel you ever tried to write? If you’ve never tried to write a novel, then what was the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was in crayon when I was 4. It was a fanfic about how the Red Ranger fell in love with Rita Repulsa’s daughter (who was NOT the daughter of Lord Zed, so he was her stepdad) and while she was…like…wicked, you know, bad temper and chaotic neutral type, like Wade Wilson level morals, she hated being evil because it was too much work and she was lazy and she just wanted to date the Red Ranger because he was hot and nice to her.
The first NOVEL I ever wrote, I was 8 or 9, it took me an entire school year, and I wrote it by hand. It was called Catrina and Stephen: How an American Girl Became Princess of Monaco, and it was basically the adventures of this random girl who, on the eve of her 17th birthday, bought tickets through a magazine (I don’t know…) to the Coronation-and-Find-a-Bride Ball of Prince Stephen of Monaco, and her parents paid to fly her to Monte Carlo (in the middle of her senior year…for some reason) and the prince was like 19 and they met and fell in love a la Cinderella at the ball and got married literally the next day and had all these weird adventures and like, I shit you not, 35 kids (lots of triplets and quadruplets and I think a few quints).
I worked on it every day, in school, for bellwork. We got a writing prompt every morning and I always found a way to incorporate the prompt into the next chapter of my book. So literally one chapter might be them going to the grocery store and having to shop “like poor people” and the next chapter an evil scientist shrinks them down and they have to create a fort out of toothpicks and lincoln logs to protect themselves from a tarantula and rats, then in the next chapter they might scout an expedition to fucking Pluto and meet some eldritch alien horrors, but one of them fell in love with one of the kids (also being a kid, so cute “that’s my girlfriend” child love) and it became a star-crossed lovers thing that gets resolved by the UN. It was wild shit.
By the end of the year it filled 6 composition notebooks, had over 150 chapters, and ended with Catrina and Stephen dying and the alien and princess taking over the Earth and forming an intergalactic empire or something, but it was cool because basically it was just, everyone can do whatever except bomb each other or torture people.

Letter to you, Taylor
Love your #1 Fan,
Victorio

Alright, I think I’m ready to talk about why my birthday wasn’t such a great day. I’m putting this under the cut because it’s long, and I’m sure nobody wants to listen to my ranting so yeah. Here we go. Please don’t reblog.
Remember that job I’ve been talking about lately? Boy, I thought it was too good to be true. The pay was fantastic, I had supportive and super kind coworkers who I easily befriended and had interesting patients to assist. But on thursday night--I broke down. Literally, on my bedroom floor.
The thing is; it’s the doctor. In my office, there’s at least five doctors. Each with their own assistants. The one I worked for desperately needed an assistant. But I learned that he’s been through six assistants during his stay there, me included. He’s only been there for three months.
According to staff and those who I’ve befriended there, all his previous assistants quit the job because they can’t work with him. He treats them horribly. And another girl who works with him the days I don’t--They really don’t get along. He hates her and treats her like dirt. I feel so sorry for her...
He’s been off and weird with me too, but not overly rude. He told me a dozen times that he wants me to stay there with him, but honestly his behavior is horrible. He freaks out over the smallest of mistakes, and refuses to let me perform certain duties deeming I’d do it ‘wrong’. Even in front of pt’s, it’s so humiliating. Not to mention how he treats other staff and brags about how much money he makes compared to our wages. You think that’s appropriate to say to your workers?
I’m quitting because of thursday night. We had a root canal patient for the end of the day, and it went horrible. I’ve never been through something so stressful work related before. It was more complicated than it seemed, and he should’ve refereed her to a specialist. (yesterday he even admitted that to everyone! funny) Instead, bc he wants the money, he went through with it and the whole thing took over 4 hours instead of a 2 hour appointment. He didn’t care that the pt was in pain (which was frequently), or ASKED if I could stay longer.
He didn’t. Ask. He just presumed and went with it, he didn’t ask the pt if she wanted to leave and go somewhere else either. It was bad. So bad.
My shift ended at 5pm, I left at 9:15pm. And drove home in a blizzard. I almost got in an accident.
It broke me. I couldn’t function, I was beyond stressed. My manager was so furious at him for doing that, he done this before. Not asking his assistant if they could stay after work to finish a procedure. In the dental world, that means a big fucking deal. My coworkers were were angry as well when they learned the news.
On top of that, he asked me out for dinner while working over that patient. What the fuck? And even offered to drive me home? You’re not suppose to say those things in front of pt’s, that’s a BIG nope. But here’s the fun part--I’ve been working there for not even a week so far. And he suggests those things?
I don’t even know you! My manager said that was wayyy out of line and creepy. Her exact words.
I have such horrible vibes from him, really bad vibes. I can’t be alone with him, otherwise I feel terrible. I make excuses to leave the room. I cannot, will not, work with this guy anymore. None of the staff likes him, and he’s giving the office a bad rep. Even some patients gave complaints about him. He told my manager that all the staff is making up lies about him to try to cover his ass. But dude, if so many people express the SAME issues about you... Ya’ll think they’re lying?
He also works 60 hours a week there, and that’s insane. (brags about it too, and how fast he gets the job done) Takes on way too many people at once and I struggle to get everything together and work properly. When I got home I cried for hours. I’ve never been so stressed in such a long time. I couldn’t eat, couldn’t drink. I was in a panic.
My manager and coworkers are so sweet, as are the other doctors there. It’s just... Him. He’s the problem, and they’re looking to replace him by the looks of it. My manager was so hurt to see me go, she wanted this to work out for me.
I liked it there... I can’t believe this.
Oh, and out of the blue he handed me a $1 scratch ticket the other day. Idk what that was suppose to represent, but I hope it didn’t leave him broke. Compensation for not getting my consent to stay till nearly 10pm at night? Bugger even left his empty coffee behind for me to clean.
I don’t think so buddy. I can’t wait when he finds out that I quit. The guy was sure I’d stay there and put up with his treatment. I’m not going to work with someone like that anymore. I deserve better.
Kudos if you read my massive rant, oh geez...
