I took these early(ish) in the morning, cleaning the kitchen, and got distracted before posting. Now I’m in the kitchen again. Guess why. (Least loved Sisyphean chore.)
One day, I’m going to have the world’s weirdest crow’s feet because of the scar around my orbital bone. You can see the crinkle pattern in that top left photo. It looks like how little kids draw rays around a sun. Or eyelashes on creatures. And that’s just fine. I’ll take interesting crow’s feet over skin cancer any day, thank you.
Three cheers for modern medicine and sunny kitchens and silky robes.

Turlough Is (a) Turlough in Lords of the Storm
Forgive the highlight in the second screenshot. I’m weird.
These two bits are basically back to back. Turlough’s response to being told he’s not allowed to go somewhere is that he is Turlough. It keeps working out for him out of Refuge in Audacity.
The interesting thing is that Lords of the Storm takes place in Space India, a future human colony that models itself on India. Turlough starts doing this “I’m Turlough” thing after learning about how different castes live in different parts of the city they’re in. Apparently Trion is a lot like this. Turlough ends up kind of liking this colony, by human colony standards, because this aspect of the culture feels similar to what he was raised with.
The Imperial Clans were a sort of ruling caste. Turlough is the name of a family of this ruling caste, basically. Turlough is doing the sort of thing that would work back home. “I can go wherever my family’s important”. Of course, Trion castes and Indian castes have nothing to do with one another and no one on the colony is going to recognize the Turlough name, and Turlough should definitely know this, but he apparently just gets caught up in this sense of familiarity. The fact this familiarity comes from a caste system is kind of sad, but it’s also funny to see Turlough just deciding that his family name means he can do whatever, because that’s what it was like back home.

Top five teams? (sorry for such a basic question lol)
Don't apologize, anon, I love any and all questions. I will be sticking to the NHL because that is primarily what this blog is about and is the primary league I follow. Apologies if you meant this as a more general question.
Sort of in particular order:
1) The Wild
My beloved boys whom I grew up with, if the rest of the league has to burn for them to be happy then it burns.
2) The Penguins
My eastern conference boys. Adopted because, well, the Wild are great at getting into the playoffs but awful at staying in them and the Pens were way better about it (better luck next season).
3) The Kraken
I have been besieged by my beloved @wildaboutmnhockey and while I'm not making any commitments until next season starts there's something about sea imagery and those colors and those boys that's compelling.
4) The Habs
This one is solely motivated by I have an offline friend who's a diehard Habs fan so I keep up to date on the scores and other things for them.
5) The Canucks
This is a bit of a contentious spot as there are a handful of teams that could go here but the Canucks get the nod for having incredible theme night jerseys.

WOW this has been ROUGH in the Life Events category of things, but. slowly crawling out of that. hopefully
this was the opening scene for a something I started writing after watching the Manben inverview with Nishi Keiko and thinking back to all the classic shoujo manga I stayed up reading back in the day, like damn that's so true Urasawa Naoki
it's partially a love letter to all the greats of the genre that I read, and also to the late night teleseryses that captivated me over the years lmao. it'd be nice to find the time to tackle it properly as a comic, but I'm having fun working on it recreationally :)
✨but since it's recreational, some character info✨
the first character seen is lawrence 'law' valenciano (late 30s), the one with the glasses is cris volante (mid-later 20s). law works at a karinderya, cris is an extremely broke university student.
⭐ places I’m at! bsky / pixiv / pillowfort /cohost / cara.app / insta / tip jar!

You know, I feel like we're not talking enough about the fact that Alastor has in his room a full reproduction (?) of a swamp-forest that's highly likely very similar to the one where he was killed. Talk about being morbid.
Edit: someone pointed out in the comments that the swamp-forest is called bayou. It's a kind of ecosystem in Louisiana.

Harrow got so unbelievablely horny dreaming about Gideon's rolled up sleeves exposing her lean, taut muscle, a little dewy with sweat and
steam but you know what.... thinking about it. Gideon does not disrobe basically ever, except in private to bathe. A tantalizing glimpse of forearm may legitimately be the most Harrow's imagination has to work with

realised yesterday just how often hozier actually used to sing about being not quite alive, not feeling like a person, about loving someone in a way that defies death and made him more alive, about suffering death for love. it's like he was constantly being buried underground and unearthed by love, over and over, which, while romantic in a way, is also incredibly sad. but i think it's interesting how his latest album (literally called 'unreal unearth') takes this idea and makes it its central theme. that's what this album is, one man's descent into the underworld. except, crucially, he makes it to the other side, and ends the album saying the darkness will come again, but this time he is "never going back [to hell] again." it feels like such a full-circle moment considering the rest of his discography and i'm so very excited to see what comes after this

Got notes again on my post abt how Falin's Girl Autism is romanticized to the point where people who don't really know or understand her are trying to propose vs Laios's Boy Autism being seen as an active threat even though the Toudens are literally so fucking alike and like. Yeah. Gdhdh I have nothing to add I was fucking right and I like that Ryoko Kui created such loving and similar siblings so that she could comment on how their autism and hyperfixations are so clearly filtered through a lens of how people see them due to their gender as well

[ID: Digital Art in color of Trigun Maximum, characters included are Wolfwood, Elendira, and Legato in a casual meeting situation. The piece consists of orangey yellow lighting and purple shadows. Wolfwood sits on the left side, facing Elendira who’s on the right. He’s seated on a plain wooden chair with one knee up and he’s holding the strap to his Punisher in his left hand while his right sits against his thigh, He has an irritated expression as he speaks to Elendira. Elendira is sitting in a fancier seat, her right arm rests against Wolfwood’s propped up knee, her left hand holds her suitcase. She’s sitting cross legged with an amused expression. Legato can be seen in the back at the center of the image in his mobile body case, one of his eyes shown to be glaring at Wolfwood. End ID]
[ID: Sketch, uncolored comic. Elendira says to Wolfwood, “I’m not telling you to dedicate yourself to him, but just accept the situation at hand. We could get along better if we were on the same page.” Wolfwood responds, “Don’t peg me me for an optimist. I’m not dumb. But, I’m also not going to just live in resignation. Plus, I don’t have any interest in getting along with ya.” Elendira coos, “Aw, you sure? I have a wonderful shoulder to cry on when the weak people you’re trying to protect eventually dies in the coming months. Though, I guess it’s fine. Someone like you might just die before then anyway...” She snickers in her hand while Wolfwood is speechless and just glares. Legato is faintly drawn in the back, glaring at Wolfwood, muttering “worthless” repetitively. End ID]

Does adult Machete retain his childhood delight for snails? Does he keep a journal of notes and observations about them?
Imagining a present day timeline of your story where zoology students learn a number of species of snail native to southern Europe were extensively detailed and documented by some reclusive, weird twink cardinal who was later assassinated for political reasons.
Hard to say. Even if he wanted to do regular snail watching (a riveting activity for sure), he probably wouldn't have time for it, he's chronically stretched thin as it is. But it's a cute thought TvT
