malcolm was an educated man—moving between circles (read:escaping from) for most of his younger and adult life had afforded him that at least, and when theo was young and an only child his father would teach him to read and write, give him occasional little lessons when they had time, and theo was awed by him, by the way their neighbours would come to ask him questions, seemed to respect him as an educated person, would pay him for lessons, but soon those paid lessons and the mutual attempt between father and son to make money for the family meant that theo’s lessons fell to the wayside—malcolm could see that theo didn’t have a focus or particular talent academically, he was certainly no mage, so he thought to let the boy just learn the basics and not bother him with all the rest
then, when the twins were born, malcolm was convinced that one of them, at least, would manifest magick—and from the time they could toddle he was passionate about educating them in all he knew (much of his advanced education was of course magickal scholarship), eventually his focus shifted to bethany because he correctly sensed her aptitude, and he spent almost all of his free time educating his daughter one on one, giving her almost all of his attention
carver developed a deep resentment over this—theo i don’t think ever resented it so much as it fucked up his sense of self worth further, he just internalized the idea that he hadn’t been intelligent enough to really warrant his fathers focus the same way, of course it would have been a waste to pass all that onto him, it also gave him this inherent idea that mages are, in general, more intelligent than him, more educated, of a higher strata in a class-based way, the hawkes grew up in extreme poverty and theo only attended a few years of the paltry free schooling the chantry offered before leaving to take work to make money—carver attended for much longer, and attached himself to the chantry much for the reason that the sisters there seemed willing to show him the special attention that his father reserved for their sister in their little private school at home
of course, the root of all malcolm’s focus on bethany wasn’t favoritism—it was fear, he was desperately trying to equip her with the knowledge she would need to keep herself safe and secret from the templars, always living with the crushing fear that if anything happened to him she would be utterly alone and unprepared to deal with her own magicks unless he could teach her everything he knew while there was still time, it was loving for bethany, the special focus of her father, but it was also suffocating, and terrifying, and a constant reminder of how frightening her future was going to be

“Taking Chances Part 9: Love, Tequila, and Ice Cream”
And we’re back!!!!! So to give you a brief recap, Rafael and the reader left the Carisi house in a huff after the reader gave Sonny “the slap heard around the world.” Find out what happens next in this latest chapter. Words are said, sexy times happen. It’s fluffy, smutty fun....for now 😉💕
NSFW: Sex by the fireplace! Can ya’ dig it??? 😜💥🔥
Tumblr media
Rafael adjusted his grip on the steering wheel as he drove across the Verrazano Bridge. Occasionally he would glance over at you sitting in the passenger seat with your head down and your hands gently folded in your lap.
Rafael cleared his throat. “So should we go to my place or yours?”
You grunted out a monotone syllable in response.
“Ok, your place it is,” he said with a sigh, turning on the blinker and making a right turn towards your apartment.
Once back at your place, you immediately went to the living room and started a fire. Your apartment may have been a shoebox, but the wood burning fireplace was a definite perk. When you first moved in, the notion of a struggling artist pouring her heart and soul onto the canvas beside a roaring fire seemed romantic and bohemian.
While you stroked the flames to life, Rafael stood there with his hands in his pockets, rocking back and forth on his heels. “Cold night, huh?” He inwardly cringed at having been reduced to commenting on the weather.
“Mmhmm,” you replied.
“Two syllables. That’s progress,” he thought. Maybe by the end of the night, you would utter an actual word. After several minutes of deafening silence, he made yet another feeble attempt at conversation. “Your mom is a wonderful cook.”
“Hmmm,” you grunted.
“That’s it. I can’t take it anymore.” Rafael crouched down next to you and took your face in his hands, forcing you to meet his gaze. Your eyes were still shiny with tears, your nose bright red.
It was the first time since leaving your parents’ house that you had looked at him or even acknowledged his presence apart from the occasional mumble. “I know this afternoon was a complete disaster, but I can’t take this anymore. Please say something. Anything.”
Your bottom lip quivered before blurting out, “He cheated on me!” As soon as the words escaped your lips, you crumbled into a heap on the floor, sobbing.
Rafael gathered you into his arms, running his hands through your hair, rocking back and forth. You clung to him, wetting his brand new Tom Ford dress shirt. But neither of you could care less. After all, he knew what it was like to be betrayed.  Once you calmed down, he asked, “So tequila or ice cream?”
“Both,” you replied with a hiccup and a very loud unladylike sniffle.
Rafael got up and walked over to your kitchen to grab the bottle of Tequila Ocho Reposado you had hidden in your cupboard behind the cheap stuff before rummaging in your freezer for the pint of Haagen-Dazs’ Chocolate Chocolate Chip. He smiled when he saw the post-it note you had left on the frozen dessert.
“This ice cream is the personal property of Y/N Carisi. DO NOT TOUCH OR PREPARE TO MEET A VIOLENT SUDDEN DEATH!”
He handed you a spoon and a glass. “Why do you have a death threat on your ice cream?”
“Sometimes Teresa or Gina crash here after partying or a bad date. They’re notorious for stealing my secret stash of junk food.” You pulled the cork out of the tequila bottle with your teeth and drank straight from the bottle.
Several smooth swigs of alcohol and an unfortunate brain freeze later, you and Rafael sat in front of the fire and swapped war stories. Although he had briefly mentioned being cheated on by his childhood ex-girlfriend, Yelina; tonight he shared more with you than he ever had with anyone. How heartbroken he was. The humiliation. How after such a betrayal he wondered if he ever could trust someone ever again.
Likewise, you felt safe enough to stop skirting around the ex situation and finally tell the truth about Theo. “We were supposed to go to some bakery in Staten Island to sample cakes for our wedding, but Theo told me he wasn’t feeling well and asked if we could reschedule. I didn’t think anything of it at the time.” You snorted a laugh as you scraped the last bit of ice cream out of the container. “How stupid was I?”
“Hey, don’t talk about my girlfriend that way.” Rafael wiped away a spot of chocolate chocolate chip ice cream on the corner of your mouth with his thumb.
“Later on that day, I came home with some ribollita and tea.”
“Ribollita?”
“It’s an Italian bread and vegetable soup. My mom would make it for us whenever we’re sick or sad,” you explained.
“When I walked inside, I saw a trail of clothes and heard a girl’s giggle coming from down the hall. I followed the sound, opened the bedroom door, and saw him with Lacey. The 21 year old bimbo who worked at the dry cleaners down the street,” you said in such a bitter tone that Rafael could feel the acerbic bite in his bones. Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned.
“It had been going on for months. Apparently, she had been doing way more than spot treatments and pressing his pants. I dumped the soup on his 500 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, threw the ring at his forehead, and left. He never followed me. He never fought for us.” You shook your head and took another shot of tequila when your phone began to buzz and dance across the floor. It was your brother. Since leaving your parents’ house he had called ten times-- a new record for him.
Rafael watched as you shut off your phone and tossed it over to the couch. While Sonny was not his favorite person by any means, he knew how important your brother was to you. The last thing he wanted out of this relationship was to come between you and your family. Not only did he firmly believe they would despise him for it, but above all else he had a gnawing fear that you would resent him for driving that wedge. “You know, you’re going to have to talk to him eventually.”
You scoffed, “I never want to speak to Sonny again. I hate him.”
“That’s not true and you know it.”
You rolled your eyes. As usual Rafael was right, but that didn’t mean you had to give in and be the first person to offer an olive branch. Sonny was a colossal jerk and he needed to learn a lesson.
“He’s just looking out for you,” Rafael continued. “In his own sick and twisted way.”
You arched a brow at your boyfriend. “So how much did you overhear when Sonny and I were in the kitchen?”
Rafael shrugged and averted his gaze, suddenly incredibly fascinated with the  pattern on your rug. “Not much. Snippets really.”
“So pretty much all of it?”
“Pretty much,” he confirmed. “Did...did you ever love him?”
There was a pregnant pause before you responded. Rafael stared into the fire, watching the flames dance and flicker, unable to face you. Of course he already knew the answer was yes. You were a hopeless romantic. But the idea of you loving another man, planning a future with them, made his stomach knot up.
“I thought I did once. But it was different. I can see that now.”
Rafael nodded thoughtfully and grabbed the ice cream carton and bottle of tequila to take back into the kitchen. “How so?”
“Theo and I grew up together. We were childhood sweethearts. The only reason we got engaged is because that’s what people expected of us. It was the next step. But looking back, I realized I was complacent and complacency does not equal love.”
You glanced over at a picture on the coffee table of you and Rafael. You had taken it one lazy Sunday morning in bed, Rafael was kissing your cheek, his bed head sticking out in all directions while you were laughing hysterically. What the picture didn’t capture was that he was tickling that one spot right under your ribcage. You smiled fondly at that happy moment frozen in time.  “Love should be scary. It’s taking chances. It’s thrilling. I never felt that with Theo. I feel all those things when I’m with you. I love you.”
Rafael walked back into the living room, completely stunned by your declaration. “What did you say?”
“I love you?” you said with a shrug, feeling a wave of nerves. Perhaps you had jumped the gun.
Rafael plopped down on the rug beside you. He had realized early on in the relationship that he loved you, but always chalked it up to indigestion and brushed his feelings aside. He never believed you would reciprocate so soon. “Are you sure?” He turned towards you and cupped your face. “This isn’t just the tequila and ice cream talking. You’re not drunk or on a raging sugar high?”
You giggled and mimicked his movements, cupping his cheeks. “I promise I am not under any influence of any kind. I love you, Rafael Barba. With every fiber of my being, I love you.”
A tear slipped down your cheek which he brushed away. “I love you too.” He leaned forward and captured your lips with a kiss. Parting your mouth with his tongue, his touch was gentle yet commanding. Your toes were beginning to curl.
A heat crept up your body and you started to undo the top few buttons of your dress. Out of the corner of his eye, Rafael spied a flash of emerald green against your skin and stopped his ministrations.
“What’s the matter?” you asked out of breath.
He ignored your question and tugged your dress aside a little more, revealing the silk emerald green corset. The corset that you had taunted him with when you invited him to lunch on Sunday. The corset that he had envisioned ripping to shreds with his teeth.
You giggled and blushed, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear. “With all the drama, I forgot I had this on.”
“You mean...you wore this to church?”
You slowly nodded your head. “And to my parents’ house.”
Rafael was already rock hard, but now he was on the brink of coming in his pants at the mere thought of you wearing this sinful lingerie underneath your demure dress all day-- piously praying at St. Thomas; helping your mother with her marinara sauce in the kitchen. “Stand up so I can see you better,” he gruffly commanded.
You obeyed and slowly went back to the task of removing your dress. “Stop,” he said and replaced your hands with his. “Let me.”
Your heart was hammering in your chest at his request. A tiny whimper escaped your throat as he peeled your dress off. Rafael’s hands were trembling with each button. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t seen you naked before, but this time felt different. He was nervous. Locking eyes with you, he could see you were nervous too.
Once your clothes were shed, he drank you in from head to toe--from how that particular shade of green complimented your skin, to your hard nipples poking through the silk and lace, all the way down to the black thigh high stockings connected to your garters. “Eres perfecta,” he whispered, his eyes half-hooded with lust as he began to take off his clothes.
You grabbed his hands, effectively stopping him. “Allow me.” You arched your brow and began shedding layer after layer. You took your time, running your hands over his exposed flesh, feeling his firm muscles beneath your palms.
Completely lost in the sensation of your fingertips against his skin, the clanging of his belt against the floor brought Rafael back to reality. His boxer briefs were the last to go. With a flirty snap of the elastic, you rid him of his underwear, his hardened cock springing free. He toed out of his socks and stepped towards you, nudging his clothes out of the way.
You stared at each other for a long moment-- your chests heaving, bodies pulsating. The tension between you both was electric. Not wanting to wait another second, you pressed yourself against Rafael, kissing him hard, nibbling on his bottom lip. He returned the kiss with vigor. You could feel his throbbing erection weeping onto your inner thigh, brushing against your lace-covered pussy.
In awe of this beautiful man in your arms, you began to work your way down his body, laying wet wanton kisses across his skin. “Oh Y/N, please,” he whimpered. Hearing him beg, you raked your teeth against his nipple, a particular sensitive spot for Rafael. He gasped in response.
You smirked, reveling in the fact that you had reduced him to a begging, quivering mess. Kneeling before him, you took his cock in your hand and teasingly flicked your tongue against his slit.
Rafael groaned at the sight of you looking up at him with big innocent eyes and a wide welcoming mouth. From this angle, he could see the way your garters rested on the luscious curve of your ass.
You wrapped your lips around him, swirling around his crown as if you were sucking a lollipop, tracing every vein.
Rafael threw his head back and groaned, “Ay Dios mío.”
His cock felt hot and heavy in your mouth, you relaxed your throat as you slowly swallowed him down, pushing his head past your tight ring of muscle. Your nose was tickled by his trimmed pubic hair. He held your head there for a moment, relishing in the sensation.
You smacked his ass and grabbed a handful of his flesh before pulling off him with a pop. “Fuck my mouth, mi amor,” you purred while stroking his length. “Don’t hold back. I want all of it.”
He wrapped his hand around your long locks and fed you his cock. “You naughty little girl,” he growled before thrusting. “Going to put that mouth of yours to good use.”
“Mmmhmm,” you moaned. Tears were running down your cheeks as you gagged around him, taking everything he had to give. You loved when Rafael got rough. You craved it. Giving him pleasure brought you pleasure.
One of your hands reached up to massage his balls while the other reached in between his legs, pressing down on that strip of skin between his cock and his ass. That was all it took for Rafael to come undone. His cock swelled and released. His warm seed splashing against your tongue. Rafael came so hard, he was practically bent in half, clutching the mantle, grunting over and over again. You sucked him dry, not stopping until he gently pulled you off his sensitive cock.
“Jesus Christ,” he chuckled. “You have a mouth like a vacuum cleaner.”
“Should I take that as a compliment?” you asked, wiping away some of your smudged lipstick.
“I nearly had a heart attack just now, what do you think?” He had an evil glint in his eye and took several steps towards causing you to scoot back. “I think I need to repay the favor. Don’t you?”
“Only if you insist.” You laid back down on the floor in your most seductive pose.
Rafael knelt down. “Oh believe me”-- he grabbed your legs and pulled you towards him causing you to squeal in surprise--“I insist.”
He ran his hands across your body, pressing against your form through the silk. Wanting to repay you for your earlier torment, Rafael took his time disrobing you--tugging at the laces of your corset, unsnapping your garters, peeling your stockings off. There wasn’t an inch of skin left unattended from the crown of your head down to the arches of your feet.
You couldn’t catch your breath. “Payback is a bitch,” you thought as he sucked a mark onto your right hip. Rafael saved your thong for last, opting to tear it off you with his teeth.
He parted your folds, revealing your glistening pink pearl, stroking your soft, wet, sex. You spread your legs wider, feeling his hot breath on your pussy, arching your hips toward him. He clucked in disapproval. “So impatient.”
“Please,” you whimpered. “I need you.”
Unable to resist any longer (after all, he was only human), he began to worship your core. Offering his tongue as a prayer as he swirled around your lower lips and traced patterns on your clit.
You grinded against him. “More,” you pleaded.
With a loud squelch, Rafael stopped and lifted his head. “You have such a perfect little pussy. I love it so much”--he playfully bit down on your inner thighs-- “and it’s all mine. Isn’t it?” With an intense, heated stare, he spit on your pussy. The sensation of his saliva on your swollen clit caused you to jump.
“Yes, it’s yours,” you wailed.
“That’s right,” he cooed while slowly making concentric circles on your bundle of nerves, watching how his spit mingled with your dripping juices. “And you’re gonna come all over my face, aren’t you?”
You arched your back and gasped. “Oh God, yes! Yes!
“Shhh, that’s my good girl,” he said with a smirk before devouring you once more. Your moans of “More” and “Don’t stop” spurred him on.
With his mouth wrapped around your clit, he penetrated you with his fingers, stroking that spot deep within you that drove you insane. One crook of his finger had you coming with a shriek.
Feeling your core pulse against his tongue as he fucked you through your orgasm unleashed something savage within him. He buried his face against you, groaning, his lips and chin completely coated in your arousal. Already hard from eating you out, he rutted against the rug, desperate for some relief.
His tongue was relentless while he fucked you with his fingers until he ripped another orgasm from you. By the third time you had come, you melted onto the floor. And yet you wanted more. With Rafael, it was never enough.
You pushed him off you and straddled him, kissing him with such fierce passion he toppled back to the floor. “I want to show you how much I love your cock.” You nuzzled your nose with his before sitting up and dragging your center against his length. Hovering over his cock for a moment, you lowered yourself onto him.
Rafael grabbed your hips to keep you in place as he rotated his pelvis, wanting you to feel every inch of his cock. Your whole body shuddered. Digging your nails into his chest, you began to rock against him.
Rafael groaned, watching you fuck him. “Look down, querida. Look at how fucking sexy you look riding me.”
You followed his gaze down to where you were being impaled by him. Biting back a whimper, you experimentally flexed your muscles, squeezing against his cock. Rafael choked out a sob which only encouraged you to speed up your movements.
You lifted almost completely off him before slamming back down.
Flames licked at your flesh as you continued to bounce on his cock. Rivulets of sweat dripped off of you, one drop running down your chest. Rafael sat up and caught it with his tongue, holding you close as he latched on to your nipple, suckling against the hardened bud before repeating his actions on your other breast.
Your bodies worked in tandem, pushing and pulling. You were reduced to a wild animal, clawing at Rafael. Red streaks covered his sweaty skin. He loved it, wanting nothing more than to be claimed by you, his own ethereal goddess.
“Rafael!” you cried out in a hoarse voice. He cut you off with a searing kiss.
“I love you,” he moaned against your lips.
“I love you too.” Tears began to run down your cheeks. Your heart was beating fast, blood pounding in your ears, pressure mounting. You were too far gone by this point. Can you die from pleasure? Oh...but what a way to go.
He pulled back, forcing you to lock eyes with him. His eyebrows furrowed, mouth slack, panting and whimpering with every thrust. You pressed your forehead against his, your breaths mingling. This was beyond the physical. Your souls were melding, transforming one another.
You simultaneously erupted, swallowing each other’s moans and grunts, stroking each other through your respective releases. When you finally floated back down to earth, you collapsed on the floor, your bodies still connected.
“Holy shit,” you sighed.
“I know,” Rafael panted.
“If I knew saying ‘I love you’ would lead to mind blowing sex, I would’ve said it a whole lot earlier,” you teased.
“I knew you were only after me for my body.” Rafael let out a breathless laugh and tickled that one spot on your side. Exhausted and not in any hurry to move, you both laid there as the fire weakened until only a few dull embers glowed.
You nestled against his chest, having never felt so happy. As cheesy and cliché as it sounded, you wish you could stay that way forever. That is until the events from earlier in the day came floating back into your mind. You had no idea what you were going to do with your family, especially Sonny.
But that wasn’t a question for tonight. Right now you were perfectly content being wrapped up in your own little world. Just you and Rafael.

Theo versus Every Other Villain
While rewatching Teen Wolf seasons 5+6 (for the fourth time), something sort of jumped out at me, and wouldn’t let go.
So in season 6, we see immediately that, despite the fact that Liam brought him back, not a single member of the Pack is willing to trust Theo, which... eh, alright, fine. I buy it. I’m not sure I’d jump straight to trusting the guy either.
BUT... We also see that all of the Pack is willing to send Theo back to ‘hell’ (if that’s where he actually was), and Malia is more than willing to ensure Theo goes to actual hell -she actually gives it a pretty good effort. Scott seems torn on the subject, but only in that it seems like he’s unsure if he wants to use the sword to send Theo back to the Skinwalkers, or let Malia do her thing.
Although they’ve grown to accept Theo by the end of season 6, I was struck by the differences in how the Pack treats Theo, versus how the Pack treated every other villain.
For example... Peter has killed so many people that we’ve lost count, and he’s wormed his way into everyone’s good graces, only to stab them in the back in his attempts for power. Even at the end, when he decides to stay and fight, it’s only because of the paternal instinct to protect Malia. And we can see that, even right up to that point, he’s still more than willing to throw literally anyone but Malia under the bus to save his own ass.
Deucalion not only orchestrated the deaths of Erica, Boyd, and who knows how many others (including his own pack, and a weakened, unconscious Ennis), but he nearly kills Derek, slaughters a by-then-powerless Jennifer Blake by ripping her throat out in front of Scott, and, as an added bonus, is directly responsible for Josh and Tracey’s deaths as well, encouraging Theo to kill the two teens for their powers.
But when Peter and Deucalion try to repent, everyone is willing to let bygones be bygones, and accept their help. I don’t recall anyone bringing up Deucalion’s horrific crimes when Scott goes begging for his help. I don’t recall anyone warning Scott against bringing Peter into the fold, reminding him of the two direct attempts on his life.
I could go into the other ‘villains’ of the series as well, from Kate, to Gerard, to the other Chimeras, to Matt, to the hunters of season 6, but in the interest of brevity, I’ll simply say that Scott rarely dwells on a person’s negatives, and strives to believe that everyone is capable of redemption.
Except for Theo, that is. Everyone, Scott included, is hell-bent on reminding Theo exactly how ‘evil’ he is, and how he deserves what he got. That he’s the enemy, a barely tolerated necessary evil in the war against the Ghost Riders, and later the hunters.
And I have a theory about the ‘why’.
Everyone is so quick to lay the blame for the Pack falling apart on Theo. After all... It was Theo who got Liam all riled up, and set him loose to kill Scott. It was Theo who drove the wedge between Scott and Stiles. Theo who sent Malia on the path to kill her mother, before shooting her himself. Theo who is the first person to actually, legitimately kill Scott. All of which is very very bad, no doubt.
But really, no worse than most of the villains have done. Sure, there’s an added level of betrayal, I suppose, since Theo convinced the Pack that he was a friend. But does that really explain the knee-jerk response to make Theo the villain? I don’t think so.
I think the problem is, if they don’t have Theo to blame, the Pack would have to look inwards. Because, sure, Theo might have set Liam after Scott... But Liam was already angry at Scott to begin with; Theo might’ve tipped him over the edge, but Liam walked to the cliff all on his own.
Theo might’ve told Malia how to find her mother, helped her get to her mother... But Malia was already hellbent on killing her, and getting vengeance for her family, without any prodding from Theo. Malia who pulled away from the Pack to make sure none of them would stop her from getting that vengeance.
As for Scott and Stiles... Theo might’ve twisted the narrative to suite his needs when he told Scott about Donovan... But it was Stiles who decided to keep it a secret in the first place. Stiles who decided to hide what he’d done, long before he knew Theo knew. Theo might’ve driven the wedge in deeper, but it was Stiles who provided the hammer to do it -and if we’re being perfectly honest here, Stiles himself had started the wedge, pulling away from Scott to hide what he’d done.
So personally, I think the anger and animosity towards Theo in season 6 stems from the Pack’s need to place the blame anywhere but on themselves. Because without Theo to blame, they have to consider the fact that while Theo might’ve been the match, they had all laid down the gunpowder for him to ignite.

In defense of Steven Crain I can’t believe I’m...
What about what Nell said about him during the book signing? How could that be justified?
Steven fucked up and I never said otherwise. This is not about justifying or excusing any behavior. But when I go into the tag on tumblr I see people swooning over Luke and demonizing Steven. When the point of the whole show pretty much is “this family has been traumatized, everybody lived through that horrifying summer in Hill House, with different memories, different experiences, different coping mechanisms afterwards; they all have flaws and fuck up from time to time, but in the end they are a family and LOVE EACH OTHER”.
Lots of posts about Luke, who is such a precious little angel. Well, he made his sister buy him drugs on the way to rehab, imagine for a second if that had been his fatal overdose. (I think the show did good focusing on Luke in rehab phases; dealing with addicts is not cute).
Steven is an author, nobody cared about his historic fiction. He had this one story and he wrote it. He shouldn’t have for the sake of his family, because it drove a fucking huge wedge right through. But can we acknowledge for a second that writing that book was also Steve’s way of making sense of the mess? Like Luke drowned it out with drugs and Theo isolated herself from the world. Why is everybody talking about their pain (as if they don’t hurt anybody else) and when Steven and Shirley have asshole moments and make damaging (yet understandable) decisions, their crimes shan’t be forgiven! (ALSO this book paid for Theo’s PhD, pretty sure some of Luke’s rehab(s), kept Shirley’s business out of debt and well, then there is Nell... oh Nell...)
We actually don’t get that much information about Nell’s life, which is a shame. But that is her story, she is invisible. There is a lot to say about Nell, but for me it boils down to the fact she is most like Olivia. Wandering a thin line between worlds. Something we do know though, she actually was off her meds, when she confronted Steve (and she lied to him as well as her doctor about it). And that was more a moment of self-indulgence, less about dealing with the conflict and Steve’s very particular view of his family.
What happened in Hill House in the end? Nell talked about forgiveness (a warm feeling) and the love of family, that was always there. Even when they fucked up. Even when she accused Steve of not caring - she knows that was never true.
And the thing I can’t stand is the way that a lot of people rank the Crain children trying to single out “the worst one”. If Steven was that, do you think it was wrong he inherited Hill House and the promise? They all had lessons to learn and I think being friends with any of them would be so much fucking work. I like all their stories, the way they interconnect, the way the can see the same thing and take different things away from it. They are all so very... human. And none of them is a terrible person. They are all worthy of forgiveness.

Ainsworth - 30 - Alexander Calvert
Theo, the first born son of the Ainsworth family. And the fully-blooded brother of Thea, son of Aviana and Raymond.
Unlike the rest of his family, Theo is completely uninterested in the life set out for him. He doesn’t want the family fortune, he doesn’t want the name, he doesn’t even want to be involved in the business, which is why his sister took such a liking to it. If the heir didn’t want to be the heir, at least his little sister could take his place as the heiress.
Instead, Theo wants do do something good with his life - he wants to go into politics, and make a change. He’s done with the 1% being treated like they’re better than everyone else because they’re worth more. He’s done with his dad’s illegalities, he’s just done with it all. And once he achieves his goal, there’s going to be nothing to stop him.
That being said, Theo is extremely loyal to his family. More than anyone else in the Ainsworth line, he’s loyal to his sister. The two of them have each others’ backs through thick and thin, and there’s no way in hell that’s going to change. That was, until their mum came back into the picture. While his sister might not want to reconcile, he definitely does and is putting in a valiant effort to do so. This definitely drove a wedge between the siblings.
Now, Theo is forced to make a choice between his sister, who has been there through every step of his life, or his mum, who was gone for over a decade, but in his eyes genuinely wants to make up for it. Will he choose a side, or will he stand on his own side of this family feud?
Wanted by Dia on Prowl.

Unlike the rest of his family, Theo is completely uninterested in the life set out for him. He doesn't want the family fortune, he doesn't want the name, he doesn't even want to be involved in the business, which is why his sister took such a liking to it. If the heir didn't want to be the heir, at least his little sister could take his place as the heiress.
Instead, Theo wants do do something good with his life - he wants to go into politics, and make a change. He's done with the 1% being treated like they're better than everyone else because they're worth more. He's done with his dad's illegalities, he's just done with it all. And once he achieves his goal, there's going to be nothing to stop him.
That being said, Theo is extremely loyal to his family. More than anyone else in the Ainsworth line, he's loyal to his sister. The two of them have each others' backs through thick and thin, and there's no way in hell that's going to change.

The Present
It was late, almost one in the morning, when Theo plopped himself down on a large rock in Beacon Hill’s reserve that overlooks the town. He pulled out the letter that had been stuck in his back pocket all day. With his new school and trying to fit into Scott’s pack, there hadn’t been much time for him to sit down and read (Y/N)’s latest letter. So, unable to wait until tomorrow, he drove to his favorite spot.
A small smile tugged at his lips once he opened the envelope and pulled out the folded paper. He got like this with every letter. The feeling of being a little schoolboy with his first crush overcame him every time, and he loved it.
Theo,
I’m writing this probably a week before you’re able to read it, but I know I’m under the same stars as you. As I look up at the moon, I’m reminded of what you told me the first night we met – our first date, I guess you could say. You said that no matter where we are in the world, be it three thousand miles apart or half a world apart, we will always share the same moon. Now, if my calculations are correct, it should be a full moon by the time you read this, just like that first night. So, even though there’s three thousand miles and a three-hour time difference between us, smile, my love.
Theo finished the first paragraph of the letter and looked up at the moon. Sure enough, it was full. His smile broadened as he thought about that first night two months ago. It was a mild, summer night in the city, and one of his parents’ friends decided to throw a going away party on some fancy rooftop restaurant. Coincidentally, their friends also included (Y/N)’s parents, which was how she got dragged to the party, and so begins their story.
Two months prior - New York City – Night one.
Theo made his way through the crowd, dodging people he didn’t know and avoiding most of those he did. Just as he broke through the crowd, he spotted a girl standing by the edge of the roof looking out at the city lights. Her back was to him, so he couldn’t see her face, but she was in a black knee length sundress with matching wedges. She had wavy brown hair that reached past her shoulders. He had a gut feeling that she was one of the few here that was probably around the same age as him, so he sidled his way up next to her.
“Beautiful view, huh?” Theo questioned casually, trying to make small talk. His presence must have startled her because she jumped a little and looked at him. He chuckled a little, but when he saw her face and looked into her gorgeous hazel eyes, he lost his words. “Um… sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He finally apologized after clearing his throat.
The girl shook her head, “it’s fine. I was just lost in my own little world for a minute.” She offered a smile and held out her hand. “I’m (Y/N).”
“Theo.” He said while shaking her hand.
“Your parents drag you to this too?” She asked, clearly just as bored with the party as he was.
He laughed a little as he looked down in embarrassment, “sort of. It’s for my parents and me actually.”
“Oh. I’m sorry. Not that it’s your party, but for insinuating that it’s lame. Because it’s not lame. It’s…” (Y/N) looked around at the party, “fun. You know, good food and music, a lot of people.” She rambled on, which Theo found endearing.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to apologize. I needed a breather myself.” He smiled a little at her.
She gave him a shy smile before looking out at the view. “It is a great view, by the way. I’ve just been here all summer, and I’m kind of missing the stars back home.”
“Ahh… I didn’t think that accent was a city native.” Theo smirked. “Where are you from? Down south, obviously.”
“Yup. Born and raised in North Carolina.” (Y/N) confirmed proudly.
“So, what brought you to the city? Besides this awesome party, of course.”
(Y/N) laughed a little, “well, I guess our parents are friends or something because they got invited to this party, and then decided to make New York our family summer vacation.”
“You don’t sound too enthused about your time in the city that never sleeps.” Theo joked.
“No, it’s not that. I’ve had a great time, but we’ve been here for like three months. I guess I’m just homesick and missing the stars.” She explained. “It’s silly, I know. I guess I’m just not a city girl and I can’t wait to go back home in two weeks.”
Theo shook his head, “it’s not silly.” They grew silent as they looked out at the city together until he thought of a great idea. “Hey, do you want to get out of here for a while?”
(Y/N) looked at him surprised and confused, “I just met you.”
“And I just met you, but I want to show you somewhere that I can guarantee you haven’t been to yet.”
She weighed her options as she looked around the party. Everyone there was mostly adults. Apparently, their kids weren’t dragged to the party. The party hadn’t died down at all since it started over an hour ago, which only left (Y/N) to believe it wasn’t ending anytime soon. She spotted her parents laughing it up with who (Y/N) could only assume to be Theo’s parents.
“Fine. Lead the way.” She finally agreed with a small smile as she gestured for him to take the lead. Theo could only smile and grab her hand as he led her out of the party.
---
Thirty minutes later, Theo put his truck in park in some random parking lot. They passed the time by getting to know each other on the way there. Just like how (Y/N) was heading back to North Carolina in two weeks, she learned that he was moving back west to California after eight years. He learned this vacation was the first time she’d ever been to a big city, especially for so long. They usually just go to the beach, but she has been to Nashville a few times. When asked why Theo and his parents moved to New York from California, he confided that his parents just couldn’t handle being there after his sister died. She confessed that she’d always wanted to visit California, and Theo couldn’t help but grin a little.
“Where are we?” (Y/N) asked as they hopped out of the truck.
“Inwood Hill Park.” Theo answered easily once they met on the sidewalk.
“Don’t you think we’re a little overdressed for a night at the park?” She teased as she gestured to their cocktail attire.
Theo chuckled, “I thought you country girls weren’t afraid to get a little dirty.” He said with a grin.
“Ha, ha. I’m not. I’m just trying to figure out why you brought me here.”
His grin widened to a full-fledged smile, “you’ll see. Come on.” He took her hand again and led the way.
The park was gorgeous. Street lamps lined the sidewalks, along with benches scattered around. There seemed to be so much natural landscape and open space that (Y/N) found it hard to believe considering they were still in Manhattan. Central Park is beautiful and all, but it’s man made.
“This park is one of the few mostly natural parks left in Manhattan. Nearly two hundred acres. And it has some of the best views of The Hudson River. Central Park has nothing on this place.” Theo explained as they walked down the pathway to who knows where.
(Y/N) looked over at him, and he had a sparkle in his eye. “Must be special to you.”
He looked at her confused, “why do you say that?”
“Because you’re beaming about it. You spend a lot of time here?” She asked curiously.
Theo shrugged a little, “I haven’t been here in a while, probably a year or so. When we first moved, I played little league on the baseball field here, and I played a couple of pick up games with my friends after that. I just haven’t really had much time lately, I guess.”
(Y/N) nodded her head in understanding, “so, why are we here now?”
He smiled before taking his phone out, turning on the flashlight, and pulling her towards the baseball field. “Hold this?” He asked, handing her his phone. There’s only a few street lamps around, so there’s not much light.
“Umm… what are you doing?” She asked as she took his phone and shown on him.
“You don’t like surprises, do you?” He asked with a smirk before climbing up and over the fence.
“Not when it involves breaking and entering…” She whispered as they jogged over to the gate opening.
Theo laughed, “we’re not breaking and entering.”
“Well, it certainly seems like it.” She stated and crossed her arms after handing him his phone back once he opened the gate to let her in.
“I promise you won’t get in trouble, (Y/N).” He tried to assure her as he held out his hand to her. She sighed before reluctantly taking his hand and letting him lead the way again.
“Seriously, what are we doing out here?”
Theo led her to the middle of the grassy area of the field and sat down. “Have a seat.”
Having no other option, (Y/N) plopped down beside him. “Now what? We’re in the middle of a baseball field and can barely see anything.”
“Look up.” He answered with a smile before looking up at the night sky.
(Y/N) did as told and followed his gaze. A smile instantly spread across her face. She could actually see the moon and some stars without all the light pollution from the city lights. “Wow.” She whispered, not wanting to disturb the peacefulness of it.
Theo let her soak it all in as they lay back in silence and gazed up at the stars and moon. He noticed how much she was missing home, and hoped that maybe this view would tie her over for another two weeks. More than that, he was able to get to know a girl that he was really starting to like. The only problem was, in two weeks, they’ll be on opposite ends of the country.
“Did you know that, no matter where you are in the world, we’re all staring at the same moon?” He asked, feeling the slightest connection to her even if they were three thousand miles apart.
(Y/N) giggled a little, “did you steal that from Dear John?”
Theo chuckled as he shook his head, “no. That one is that no matter where you are in the world, the moon is never bigger than your thumb.” He corrected, holding his thumb up towards the moon.
(Y/N) smiled at him as he looked up at the sky with his thumb up in the air and one eye closed before she did the same. “Thanks for this.”
“No problem. I know it’s probably nothing like a Carolina night sky, but I figured it might still help a little with your homesickness.” He said with a small smile.
“It definitely does.” She stated, reciprocating his smile.
He reached out and took her hand again, intertwining their fingers, and resting their hands between them as they continued their stargazing. They spent the next hour and a half just laying in the grass, trying to spot their favorite constellations, and sharing stories until both their parents started wondering where they were. It was clear to both of them that they shared an undeniable connection. Neither said anything about it, though, because they both knew they were on a ticking clock. So, they chose to just live in the moment and soak it all in while they could.
The Present
We’ve been separated only by distance for a few months now, and we’ve settled into normal routines. No more sneaking off to stargaze at Inwood Hill. No more showing me the hidden gems of the city or fooling around while our parents were out. No more late-night diner talks or the Chinese food you could live off of. No more sample tasting in Union Square or strolling through Fort Tryon Park. You showed me a side of New York that I never would have seen otherwise. Now we’re apart for a while, but after only two weeks like that together, how can we not survive this? Know that no matter how long or far away we are from each other, I’ll wait. Through time and distance, I know two things to remain true – I love you, and I’ll see you soon.
All my love, (Y/N)
As Theo finished reading the letter, he couldn’t help but feel bittersweet about it. He wished they could relive those two weeks every day. They were magical and full of laughter, but more importantly, love. It was a time in which Theo thought he’d never experience – the feeling of falling in love. That feeling, however, also made their last night together just as bittersweet as this letter. They confessed their feelings, but then had to fly in opposite directions the next morning. It was one of the hardest things he’d ever done.
Two months prior – New York City – Night thirteen & Day fourteen
Deciding to spend their last night together where it all began, (Y/N) and Theo had dinner at the fancy rooftop restaurant the party was at before ending the night on the baseball field at Inwood Hill. They came more prepare this time with a few blankets, lanterns and a Bluetooth speaker. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the night of a full moon, but there was supposed to be an epic meteor shower. So, they spread out a blanket and got comfortable. (Y/N) sat comfortably between Theo’s legs as he wrapped a blanket around them as a cool breeze moved in from the Hudson.
“I can’t believe it’s our last night.” (Y/N) said solemnly, not wanting their time together to end.
Theo kissed the side of her head, “I know. Is it weird if I say I feel like I’ve known you longer than two weeks?”
She turned to look at him with a smile, “no because I feel the same way about you.” She answered before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Good.” He hugged her a little tighter as they grew silent, neither wanting to talk about the inevitable yet.
(Y/N) could feel a tension between them, and she had a feeling there was something more on his mind than just their leaving tomorrow. She turned around in his arms and looked at him, “hey,” she rubbed his arm a little, “what’s going on in that head of yours?”
He was nervous, almost to the point where his palms were sweaty. But he decided it would be best if he just spit it out. “You scare the hell out of me, (Y/N).”
She could tell he was being vulnerable, “why, baby?”
“Because…” Theo exhaled a deep breath, “I think I’m in love with you.” He finally confessed, nervous about her response.
A broad smile crept upon (Y/N)’s face as she leaned in closer. “Good, because I think I’m in love with you too.”
Theo was surprised by her response. “And that doesn’t scare you? We’ve only known each other two weeks.”
“Of course it scares the hell out of me. I mean we’re only seniors in high school and we’re about to be three thousand miles apart for who knows how long, but that doesn’t change how I feel.” She smiled softly at him. “You can’t control when or with whom you fall in love with. It takes years for some people while others fall in love at first sight. It just happens without warning, but that’s what makes it so beautiful.”
He didn’t know how to respond to that. So, Theo just grabbed her face and pulled her in for a kiss. It was in that moment he knew he was kissing the love of his life. Whether they were oceans apart or their relationship didn’t last, he knew that to be a fact. Nothing would top these last two weeks of falling in love for the first time.
The next morning – JFK Airport
Since their flights were only an hour or so apart, it only made sense for Theo to tag along to the airport with (Y/N) and her parents, especially since his had left for California earlier in the week. He could have gone with them, but he convinced them to let him stay and give the keys back to their landlord. He didn’t want to leave (Y/N) any sooner than he absolutely had to. Thankfully, both of their parents understood that.
So, he tagged along, and once they all got through airport security, they grabbed lunch and browsed some of the shops since they got there extra early. There was clear emotional tension between (Y/N) and Theo about leaving each other, but they avoided it like the plague. Instead, the pair tried to soak in as much as they could. They knew the inevitable was right around the corner, though, and unfortunately, it snuck up on them.
“Flight 3465 to Wilmington, North Carolina is now boarding section A.” They heard over the intercom and the mood set in. This was it.
“We’ll give you two a minute.” (Y/N)’s mom said before she and her husband left to get in line at their boarding number.
(Y/N) and Theo stood there in front of each other, holding hands and staring into each other’s sad eyes while everyone hustled around them. “I guess this is it,” (Y/N) said solemnly as she fought the tears.
Theo exhaled a deep breath, “I guess so.” He said before pulling her tight against his chest, not wanting to let go. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and a few tears fell onto his shirt. He was trying so hard not to cry as he held her and slipped a letter into her carry-on backpack.
“Final call for Flight 3465, section A.” The attendant said over the intercom.
They pulled apart from one another, and Theo kissed her forehead as she sniffled. He then pulled her in for a kiss that almost felt like goodbye, but they refused to believe that. “I’ll see you soon, okay?” He promised as his blue eyes stared deeply into her hazel ones.
(Y/N) bit her lip as she nodded, “I’ll see you soon.”
With that, Theo let her go. He watched as she got her ticket scanned, and she gave him one last smile before disappearing into the terminal. When he could no longer see her, his shoulders slumped as a deep sigh escaped his lips. He was already counting down the days until he could see her again… whenever that may be.
On the plane
(Y/N) sat on the plane in a window seat beside her mom. She put on her noise canceling headphones and put her music on shuffle as a distraction. Normally, she used the music to distract her from flying because it made her nervous, but this time she used it to block out the rest of the world. She wasn’t in the mood to talk, especially since her mom would undoubtedly ask her about Theo.
Once the plane took off, and the stewardess said it was okay to turn on devices, (Y/N) pulled her backpack up to get out her tablet. Instead, she found a white envelope with her name written in Theo’s familiar handwriting. Her mind raced with the good and the bad of what he possibly could have written. With a deep and shaky breath, she opened the envelope.
(Y/N),
Two weeks. That’s all it took for me to fall in love with you. If I’m being honest, though, it didn’t even take that long. I think I knew the moment our eyes met. As crazy and scary as that sounds, it’s the truth. You turned my life around in a matter of fourteen days. You see, I’ve never believed that I would find love, never felt worthy of it, let alone did I think I would find someone like you. I love you not just for who you are, but for who I am when I’m with you. You make me want to be a better person – someone worthy of loving you and someone worthy of your love.
Unfortunately, we’re now going to have three thousand miles between us, but that’s okay because I have a plan. Now, I know we didn’t get a lot of time to really get to know each other. There’s still so much that you don’t know about me, and so much that I don’t know about you… yet.  There is one specific thing that I remember you told me – you love handwritten letters. You find them incredibly romantic and personal, and feel it’s a shame that they’ve become such a rarity. Hence, why you’re reading this now. It also brings me to my plan.
We don’t know when we’ll get to see each other again, hopefully sooner rather than later. So, I want to know everything. I want to know about your day, your classes, your family, how you feel… everything you’re willing to share. Write it all down, and I’ll do the same. Now, I know we have texting, phone calls, FaceTime and every other communication technology at the tip of our fingers, but it’s not enough. It’s not personal, and more importantly, it’s not something you love.
I know the distance won’t be easy, but hopefully this makes it a little easier. We just have to have a little bit of patience and faith. This will work, (Y/N). You know how I know? Because I love you, and for the first time in a long time, I actually believe in something. I believe in us.
This isn’t goodbye. This is only the beginning.
I’ll see you soon.
All my love,
Theo.
As (Y/N) finished reading the letter, she sniffled and wiped away a few stray tears. Before, she wasn’t feeling so confident about where their relationship would go. In fact, she was terrified this was a “this just isn’t going to work out” letter. Instead, he surprised her with such a beautiful love letter promising that he was still in this with her. It made her love him even more.
“Is everything okay, sweetie?” Her mom asked when she noticed her daughter crying.
(Y/N) looked over at her mom with a small smile, “yeah. Everything’s going to be perfect.”

Abrams, Theo: 25, London. Typical struggling writer constantly searching for inspiration. Obvious boy next door type. Spent years being teased by the girl of his dreams until he finally got drunk enough to muster up the courage to ask her on a date leading to him being in a relationship and living with Sophie Owens.
Alvarez, Brinley (Slater): 24. Although she was born in South Africa, Brin had all-American dreams and moved to NYC to attend Columbia for her nursing degree. During her time there, she met the love of her life Logan Alvarez. After graduation they quickly married and Brinley found a job at New York Presbyterian in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Until now, their lives had been picture perfect. The past year has been spent struggling to conceive her own child while being surrounded by babies on the daily basis. Now spiraling, Brinley needs to work on pulling out of the depressive hole she's fallen into while trying to salvage her marriage at the same time.

Moving to London to shirk attention and inquiries into his crime, Diego finds himself falling into the same crowd anyway. Attracted to the promise of money, he continues down a path of high-end drug dealing.
Bell, Ezra: 27, originally from Auckland, New Zealand. Living in London, dating and living with James Xavier. Has an older brother, Clarke Bell. Ezra is the tortured artist type. Often strung out, high, or drunk. He is, however, a very successful composer/writer and claims his success is because of his “creative” outlet (aka, drug/alcohol use). He writes for bands like The Growlers, Bon Iver, The National, Vampire Weekend, etc.
Bellamy, Roscoe: 29, living in New York City with his wife Sofia. The French man continues to work hard to achieve all that he can in his family’s advertising company. A promotion awaits him in Paris – a sneaky attempt his father has at bringing him home – but the man refuses to have his wife give up her own career or limit the number of contracts she receives just for the sake of his.  Instead, the man happily remains in the city, encouraging and supporting his wife not only in her career but also in her dreams and aspirations.
Bellamy, Sofia (Keller): 25, model, living in New York, married to Roscoe Bellamy. Roscoe has encouraged her to open up a greenhouse/flower shop on the roof of their building, which has been a sort of dream/hobby of hers for awhile.
Bello, William: 29, living in London. He and Archer are together and in love. Will is getting ready to ask him to move in with him. The death of the King’s father is a huge blow, and Will doesn’t handle it well since it reminds him of the death of both of his parents, years ago. He goes off the rails (with Conor and Elle in tow) and ends up drinking heavily and getting into drugs to cope. This happens while Archer is away on tour.
Bennett, Tyler: 28, engaged and living with Nova Ellstrom. Nox, Tyler’s child, is now 4 years old. Still the vocalist for the band, has a dog named Jimmy and is living in New York.

Carmichael , Lindsey (Meyer): 24, married to Riley Carmichael, living in New York. Originally from Vermont. Old money family. Had a daughter with Riley (Olivia Rae Carmichael) on May 6th, 2017, so she will be 1.
Carmichael, Riley: 26, living in New York City with his wife Lindsey. The couple welcomed baby Olivia Rae Carmichael in early May of the previous year. The new father travels back and forth for work between his hometown of San Francisco and his home city, New York. He continues to work as the COO of his father’s record label, ARC Entertainment, to which his younger sister sister, Ava, is signed to.
Dallas, Ben: 29, living in Oahu, Hawaii. Several bad decisions later have made it seemingly impossible for the man to pursue his dreams of teaching the history of art as a profession. Whispers of his misconduct with former students have slithered to the surface, and have hindered him from gaining remarkable jobs. However, this has not dampened his aspirations. Ben is currently residing in Honolulu with his girlfriend Ivy. He is currently the curator of an art museum.
Daniels, Sloane: 26, ran to the west coast with Clara and broke into the world of modeling full time. During the year; the two of them drifted apart because Clara refused to give up her line of work, and Sloane pressuring her to do so scared her off. Sloane stayed on the west coast for a bit longer, but is now back to NYC for better modeling jobs/she missed Dimitre and Nikita.
DeSantos, Nikita: 26, Los Angeles, CEO of DeSantos Designs (Temporary name until I come up with something I like more). With her company taking off as suddenly and quickly as it had after years of hard work, Nikita’s life took a turn for the better. While she is still somewhat busy behind the scenes of her clothing line, the success of her business has finally gotten her to where she can enjoy other aspects of her life. Having reconciled with Danton just a little over a year prior to the current time, the two have maintained a healthy and happy relationship. Along with the success of her company allowing her free time, it also allowed her to move back home to Los Angeles where she now lives with Danton closer to the Penitentiary in which her father resides giving her the chance to visit him often and maintain the close father daughter relationship they've always had. His approval of Danton solidified the couples relationship and they were soon after engaged. The months after the engagement have been spent wedding planning and Nikita couldn't be happier.
Diaz, Kale: 24, Barcelona, currently living in Germany. After a stream of failures on the romance front - between ending things with the mother of his child and the mess he made with Siobhan - Kale decided there was no room in his life for it. If he isn't required for training or a game for his club, Borussia Dortmund FC, Kale uses whatever free time he has in New York to visit Catalina (now 2 years old). The male reconciles with his father, appointed Prime Minister of the Government of Spain, who had cut him off previously for choosing play football professionally over using his college degree to follow in the family's political legacy.
Dumas, Siobhan: 21, living in Paris, France. After an ugly breakup with Kale Diaz, Siobhan fled home to Paris to refocus herself. She is attending culinary school to become a proper chef and spends her free time at her grandfather’s bakery, exploring her baking skills through her grandfather’s expertise.
Ellstrom, Archer: 24, living in London. Archer’s career has only grown, his fan base and audience in general having increased significantly. Though he’s been touring on and off over the past year, he’s managed to create a healthy and loving relationship with William Bello. While Archer is performing in his home country Australia, he finds out about the King’s devastating loss, knowing the death in the family would affect Will as well. Not being able to leave tour so quickly without notice, Archer has to watch as his boyfriend falls into a destructive coping method, unable to help until he returns back home to London.
Ellstrom, Nova: 22, living in New York City with her fiancé Tyler Bennett and his four year old son, Nox. Nova’s life has changed dramatically over the last year and a half, leaving behind her lazy routine and recreational drug habits to instead help supervise her future step-son, especially at times that Tyler is touring. Her past experience as a live-in nanny aides her in caring for Nox, which her upbeat personality assures that she’s always more than happy to do.
Fields, Clara: 23, living in New York City. Clara has lived a very damaged life and has the internal scars to prove it, with even a few physical ones. She has accepted the dangers that come with being a call girl and thought that her girlfriend, Sloane Daniels, had too. And for a while, she had. Sloane tried to separate their relationship and Clara’s work, but after a violent altercation with a client, the pair fled New York and headed to California. Clara had no intentions of giving up her job; she loves the attention she receives from her clients and not to mention the expensive gifts and vacations that some of the higher-ranking clients spoils her with. Once they arrived in LA, a wedge began forming between the pair. Sloane urged Clara to quit and soon it drove Clara to her self-destructive tendencies. Foreseeing their relationship’s end, Clara decided to take matters into her own hands and a cheating scandal arose. She fled and hurried back to New York where she has since been continuing her line of work.
Fox, Octavia: 23, model/photographer, travels a lot, but “home” is London. She is impulsive and spontaneous. She doesn’t stay in one place for too long. She has selfish and rather narcissistic moments that have put a wedge between herself and past relationships. Through the skipped year she’s been working on herself and her rather extreme temper.
Fox, Tamsin: 26, London, management & miscellaneous with Lucas and Logan Alvarez. After a brief relapse with alcoholism and other impulsive addictions Tamsin, having been helped out of the dark spot she was in by Lucas, began keeping herself busy by throwing herself into the job Lucas had offered her. Managing to live a sober and controlled life for the past 4 months has been a struggle. Although the occasional traveling she does with her boss helps, the possibility of a relapse is always looming.
Greyfield, Ivy: 20, living in Honolulu, Hawaii with her boyfriend Ben Dallas. She’s currently attending the university there, her focus in music production. Feeling perpetually guilty for being part of the cause that disabled Ben from getting his dream job,  she constantly overcompensates, trying to do everything she can for him to make sure that he is happy with her and their new life together. Grymzin, Dimitre: 30, living in New York, New York. After a long battle, Dimitre has finally gained full custody of his son, Nikolai. Through the success of his architectural endeavors, Dimitre has begun the first steps in creating his own architectural firm.
Grymzin, Sergei: 24, living in New York, New York. With his brother’s drastic lifestyle change, Sergei has been giving complete ownership of Rasnak’s and Raza’s.
Grymzin, Viktor: 30, living in Los Angeles, California. After visiting with his girlfriend, Henley, the pair decided to make it permanent and the man has since opened a successful gym. His love for Henley is unwavering, but his loyalty to his family, and especially his father, leads to shady deals in the back of his gym that he fears could send his beloved away.
Grymzin, Zhanna: 25, living between Bali and New York City. Zhanna is attempting to build a name for herself in America now. The Russian takes frequent trips to the city but she gets restless easily and returns to Bali without warning. Especially, being under the close watch of her brother Sergei who reports back directly to their father of every move she makes.
Hawkins, Clive: 25, living in Oahu, Hawaii. Clive currently resides in Honolulu with his girlfriend Briar. After the train wreck of his previous marriage, Clive slipped into a deep depression that he self-medicated with alcohol. He was quickly slipping into old habits and was losing his way when he met Briar. What was supposed to be a weekend visit, turned into a permanent move. Briar taught the man how to love in a new way. A year later, and Clive is finally in a good place. He is the owner of a successful restaurant and bar called Pua Aloalo located on the beach, which Briar is creating a unique menu for.
Kane, Nina: 22, Seattle WA + Berlin Germany. Youngest of 3.
Kane, Thalia: 25, From Seattle WA. Living in New York. Owen West’s ex of several years. Past addiction to Xanax and has been to rehab for it. Middle child.
Kipling, Henley: 23, living in Los Angeles with her boyfriend Viktor Grymzin. The former social media famous makeup artist’s account has slowly turned more into a fitness and style account the longer she spent time with Viktor. After a long vacation to the West Coast with him the previous year, they decided to make their permanent address beneath the California sun. Though she’s always trusted Viktor, and loved him with everything that she has, she can’t help but think that with all the suspicious people coming in and out the back office of his new gym, that there’s something he’s not telling her.
King, Conor: 28, London, married to Sasha Zaslo. Mourning the death of his father (who will have died one month before the current date post time jump) and having difficultly dealing with his jealousy of Miles, who will have a daughter, Remei. Also, since their father has passed, Conor now has the burden of the entire family fortune and businesses. Since the death of his father, he’s been on quite the alcohol/cocaine/party binge with his best friend since childhood, William Bello and younger sister, Elle. He hasn’t had any type of affair or any marital issues and is still very much in love with Sasha.
King, Elle: 21, London. Like Conor, Elle is taking the death of their father pretty hard. She’s usually spending her time with Conor and Will, going out and drinking and partying. She’s now living at home with their widowed mother to keep an eye on her since she refuses to believe she’s actually the one that needs looking after herself. Elle is taking some writing classes at a university in London but it’s a half-hearted chore, more to please her mum than anything else. After the Kings’ father’s death, Elle stays close to home emotionally and turns everything else off.
King, Julien: 29, lives in London (but travels often), CEO of a real estate empire that was built with his family’s fortune and owns several luxury hotels around the world (Empire Hotel). Currently separated from wife (for almost three months now), Veronika King. After Veronika left him, Julien spiraled and continues to spiral. The death of his uncle will continue this landslide.
King, Marin (Arroyo): 22. Marin lives in London with her husband, Miles King and daughter Remei. Being a young mother, Marin feels some guilt about working to get her modeling career back on track after her daughter turns 1. The loss of Miles' father brought back waves of her own mourning at the loss of her mother years ago. Marin tries desperately to coax emotions out of Miles, feeling distant due to his closed off way of working through things.
King, Miles: 25, lives in London, married to Marin Arroyo. Goalkeeper for Liverpool F.C, though is still fighting for the number one spot, which tends to mess with his ego. Their daughter, Remei Charlotte King, will be 1 year old after the time jump. Miles will struggle with the death of his father like the rest of the family and have issues coping similar to when he lost his fiancé, Ana Davies (years ago), but because of his career, cannot afford to mourn or go off the deep end. In usual Miles fashion, he will become more emotionally closed off and have his guard up.
King, Sasha (Zaslo): 23, London. Living in London with her husband, Conor King. Ever the optimist, Sasha tries to hold the King family together after the untimely death of it’s main patriarch. While supporting her husband in his mourning, her mother in law with her distress, and Marin with her new baby, Sasha’s need for control over something overwhelms her. An old eating disorder resurfaces, but her bubbly nature hides it expertly from those she loves.
King, Veronika (Otova): 24, living in London. Veronika is currently working on obtaining her art degree at university. She still dreams of owning her own art gallery. After separating from Julien, she's living with her younger sister, Vera. The two have remained very close. Veronika is having just as much difficulty as Julien is with the separation but hides it effectively in her studies.
Knight, Cameron: 25, married to Serena Weber, still touring and in the band. From Bristol. Moved to Portland at 18. Lives in NY currently with two dogs. Owen West is his best friend.
Knight, Fletcher: 26, living in New York City. Over the past year, the Brit has continued his career in photography, snapping shots of everything from his little brother’s wedding, to the band’s shows, to spontaneous trips to Florida with his now long-time friend Eleanor Rosier. Though he loves the home he’s made in New York, sometimes he can’t help but miss the familiarity of his home country, England.
Knight, Serena (Weber): 23, living in New York City with her husband, Cameron Knight. Serena is living her best life, with her perfect guy, and two amazing dogs. She’s fortunate enough to be able and allowed to come along with Cameron while he tours, always helping her friend Gwen in working the merch booth during the shows and festivals.
Knox, Austin: 29, London. Dating Canan Reed, though the relationship is strained due to Austin's behavior. Spent the last ten months in Pentonville Prison for driving while under the influence for the fifth time within the last two years which ended in an accident. Originally sentenced to a year, he was released early due to good behavior. After being sentenced, he was obviously stripped of his rights to shared custody of his son. Under the terms of his release, he’ll have to refrain from drinking, complete community service hours, report to drunk-driving rehabilitation courses, and attend AA meetings. He's naturally devastated over missing such a large amount of time with his son and will work tirelessly to redeem himself for the mistakes he has made.
Knox, Beckett: 26, living in London, married to Orion Ellstrom who is currently pregnant with their first child. Beckett continues to work in the adult entertainment industry, a career he’s no longer sure is suitable for a man who is married and soon to be a father despite the never ending support he receives from his wife. He finds himself struggling to be an attentive enough partner while constantly traveling for work, but his love for Orion and the life growing inside of her are enough to keep him focused on finding the perfect balance.
Knox, Maverick: 26, from London, world traveler. Pharm. D, works for a pharmaceutical company (when he feels like it). Currently living in Venice Beach, CA.
Knox, Orion (Ellstrom): 24, living in London with her husband, Beckett Knox. After a happy first year of marriage, the couple found out that Orion was pregnant with their first child, deciding to only tell this information to their close family, keeping the news from their friends and the general public until she reached the end of her first trimester just in case a complication arose. She partially manages her late father’s luxury real estate company from the London location, delegating most of the responsibilities to a select few of the cooperate heads in the office. Throughout the move, the marriage, the conception of their baby, and the business maintenance of Ellstrom & Walker, Orion has managed to hold on to the free spirit about her, loving life despite any hardships. She continues to put the ones she loves above herself, always thriving to make the people that mean the most to her feel the best.
Koval, Lydia: 24, New York. Lydia has combined her career as a photographer and her love of traveling to create a fairly popular lifestyle and photography blog to share her work and personal experiences. She splits her time between New York, London, and Maui as a means to stay well connected with friends and family, but continues to travel to various other cities for both business and pleasure.
Koval, Ridge: 27, living in New York City with his fiancé Jac Mazur. Having proposed to her almost a year ago, their wedding was set to be within the next couple of months. About six months into their engagement, Jac discovered that she was pregnant, only to lose the child a short couple of weeks later. The loss devastated the pair, causing them to postpone their wedding. The tragedy affected them greatly, but even through it all, the couple remains very much dedicated to each other and in love. Ridge continues to be a successful career model, happy to work alongside his fiancé every day.
Mazur, Jac: 23. Living in New York, Jac is happily engaged to Ridge Koval. Despite suffering a miscarriage around six months ago, their relationship remains strong and loving. After dancing ballet professionally for most of her life, Jac gave up her spot at the conservatory when she found out she was pregnant. After the miscarriage, Jac decided to focus on modeling, allowing her to spend more time with Ridge and to rest her body and mind.
Moreau, Tal: 27. Originally from Montreal and currently works as a freelance artist. Currently jumps between NY and LA to work. His mother is from Dubai so he spends a lot of time with family out there. He finds it amusing when people think his eye color is fake.
Olsson, Aysa: 22. Living in LA, Aysa is busy working on her fashion line. Seeing moderate success, for once the Swede puts  relationships on the back burner, working hard to build her brand further.
Otova, Vera: 22, living in London with her older sister, Veronika King. After her sister’s separation from her husband, Vera immediately welcomed her into her home, more than willing to take care of her best friend in her time of need. She continues to work as an interior designer, her clientele consisting of London’s rich and elite.
Owens, Maxwell: 25, from London, lives in New York. Always gifted in terms of academics and IQ, which led to advancement in grade levels early on. Currently a 2nd year pediatric surgical resident. Dating and living with Eloise Rousseau. Youngest Owens child.
Owens, Sophie Mae: 26. From London. Has always been considered the "black sheep" of the Owens family due to her passion for art rather than money. Went to art school and now owns her own tattoo parlor in London, and one in NY. Currently and officially dating Theo. Sophie and Theo were childhood neighbors. She made fun of him because of his ears and the fact she was older by two years. Middle Owens child.
Owens, Topher: 27. Originally from London and had recently moved to Amsterdam. He took over his father's investment company and hates his career, but only did it out of obligation to his family. Recently split from the love of his life and sold his properties in Maui and NY. He's an avid collector of cars and enjoys marijuana -- another reason he went to Amsterdam.
Reed, Danton: 29, Los Angeles. Danton focuses all his energy on building his business, a private jet charter company, watching it turn international during the year. He establishes the main office of the company in Los Angeles, where he lives with Nikita, whom he reconciled with just before the jump. Being in a healthy relationship for the first time in years, Danton proposes six months in, only after finally visiting his ex-wife for the first time since their divorce 4 years prior, in which the pair had also miscarried what was meant to be their first child. This closure helped him let go of a lot of his anger and self-destructive tendancies, making it a point even to visit the site of his daughter's grave in London once a month - a feat he'd never been able to do before. He's excited for the upcoming wedding and his chance to start his life over.
Rousseau, Eloise: 23, living in New York City with her boyfriend Maxwell Owens. Eloise continues to head the Empire Hotel in Manhattan, exceeding her job’s expectations as always. Though it’s difficult, the couple successfully manages to balance their busy work schedules as well as their loving relationship.
Rousseau, Leo: 27, living in Paris and Bali, newly engaged to Keira Weber. Owns art galleries in New York and Paris. Surfs for pleasure.
Saunders, Maeve: 26, goes back and forth between London and LA (mostly LA). Originally from Australia. Model. Has a sister (age 21) and a half brother (age 10).
Saunders, Mila: 21. Originally from the Gold Coast, AUS. Now lives in Bali and studying to be a marine biologist. Visits her older sister Maeve quite often in LA. Put her personal life behind her to pursue her own career.
Schule, Chipp: 26, audio engineer at Warner Brothers Studio. Youngest Schule. Living in LA. Originally from New York.
Schule, Tripp: 28. New York native. Has a daughter he never gets to see. Former drug junkie and dealer back when he was 17. Never had a relationship with his parents -- unlike his two younger siblings (Natasha and Chipp). Was diagnosed with intermittent explosive disorder and now has it under control. Successful architect and has his own firm in NYC.
Shaw, Kendrick: Kendrick is a 24 yr old dance choreographer with music running in his blood. With his father being a music producer, and their grandfather a wellknown jazz artist, it was only fated that Kendrick and his brother would get involved in the same business. Kendrick works for some of the biggest artists on mainstream radio today (including his brother). Although he loves what he does, he envies the success of his brother at times and wishes he could express his own musical talent...he just hasn't built up the courage to take that jump.
Szabo, Marek: 23, living in London and working as a professional movie makeup artist. Happily single, Marek works long, tiring hours to attempt to achieve the success and acknowledgement he believes his work deserves. He is the twin brother of Micah Szabo.
Torres, Blair: 21. Living in New York, Blair has just graduated early from Columbia, having studied journalism. Originally from San Francisco, she's fallen in love with NYC and is now interning at Condé Nast, hoping to land an full-time job as a fashion and beauty reporter. She recently purchased her own Netflix account, a real accomplishment.
Tzarich, Kayde: 26, living in London with her seven-year-old son Nathaniel Knox. Kayde exudes amiability in both her professional and personal lives, working the best that she can to be a loving and attentive mother as well as a successful talent agent. After Austin’s most recent indiscretion, Kayde has been granted full custody of Nathan by the court. The decision causes a huge confliction within herself, on one hand knowing that Austin, despite his flaws, is an amazing, caring father, but on the other hand, enjoying the constant time that she now has with her son.
Valdez, Claudia: 23, London. Claudia's on the tail end of finishing her law degree at King's College in London and is getting ready to take her boards. She lives by herself in Chelsea and stays faithfully single. Miles King has remained her best friend through the past year, even through the difficult death of his father. Claudia plans to be a partner at a prestigious law firm and hopes to specialize in immigration or criminal law.
Weber, Cole: 21. Youngest Weber, only boy. From Portland, Oregon. Currently residing in San Diego for school as a prospective dental medicine student. Has a dog named Lucius. He's known to be quite the charmer.
Weber, Keira: 22, living between Paris and Bali with her new fiancé, Leo Rousseau. Keira lives a happy life, using her art degree and past experience as an art critic, she now curates Leo’s main art gallery in Paris. Though she misses her two older sisters and her younger brother, she has found herself missing her home of Portland, Oregon a little less with each passing day she spends with the love of her life.
Weiss, Freya: 22, living in New York. Freya works as an interpreter for various hospitals throughout the city. She is fluent in seven languages and fairly well versed in several others. Mother to a two year old daughter, Cat, Freya has been working on rebuilding a friendship with her ex, as well as establishing a mutually beneficial co-parenting system.
West, Owen: 27, living in New York City when he’s not touring with his band. Between practice, shows, and a beautiful girl that’s caught his eye, Owen’s life and mind have become pretty busy. After having a rather complicated past couple of years on the romantic front, Owen has finally decided to let his chips fall where they may. Not feeling the need to rush into anything, he’s decided to take his time with this potential relationship, waiting to see how well she’ll accept his touring and hectic lifestyle before making any further moves. Love life aside, Owen spends lots of time hanging out with and jamming with his best friends and band mates, Cameron, Adam, and Tyler.
Xavier, Emrys: 28, based in London. After breaking up with Alex Davies, Emrys left London and St. Thomas' Hospital where he was finishing up his cardiothoracic residency and lived in Africa for a year to help children who suffer from congenital heart defects. He only kept in touch with Julien King, who remains his best friend and the love of his life.
Xavier, James: 22, finally (and permanently) back home in London, living with his boyfriend Ezra Bell. Over the last year, James has focused on creating his own happiness, rather than being dependent on others. Though his mental illnesses, most specifically bipolar disorder, continue to be an everyday battle, James has reconnected with his longtime doctor, who he now sees regularly, and established a medication regime that has kept him stable. In turn, this has played a major role in helping James further develop his clothing line, which has grown exponentially. James now has store locations all over the globe, with his main headquarters now in London, and has become one of the most sought after designers in the world. More importantly, James has been able to repair relationships with his closest friends, that had become strained throughout the previous year due to his instability and prior selfish nature. Currently, James has been busy working on his new line, while comforting his best friends, Elle and Conor King, during their father's death.
Xavier, Maksim: 30, London. After years spent dedicated to the training camp he built for primary and secondary school aged footballers, Maks recently sold the establishment. With this newfound freedom, he has taken the time out to finally finish renovating the house he bought for himself ages ago and looks forward to doing absolutely nothing of importance for the time being.
York, Rhys: 23. After a successful season and a half with Tottenham, Rhys suffers a devastating leg injury. After being told he will never play the same again, he abandons his football career. Reconnecting with his ex, Elle King, he takes up partying in London to distract himself from his career's failure. Still an object of the English press' interest, he tries to avoid the spotlight to no avail.
Zaytsev, Adam: 29, married to Natasha Schule (who is pregnant with their child). Originally from Novosibirsk, Russia. His family now lives in Russia, though. Has an older brother and a younger sister. Bassist for the band. Living in New York.
Zaytsev, Natalia: 20, having left her home for the past two years (New York City,) she is now temporarily living in London to perform with The Royal Ballet. The young Russian continues, as always, to live for herself; chasing excitement, passion and fun whenever, wherever and with whomever the opportunity arises.
