Demisexual Eddie who assumed he's straight by default so when Steve says his soulmate words he thinks it's a platonic match.
Steve Harrington looks a hair's breadth away from kissing him and Eddie doesn't know what to do about that.
He eyes him nervously as they linger inside Rick's boathouse; he can hear outside the faint sound of Robin telling Max that they'll drop her off with Dustin. The torch Steve carries shines a yellow light onto the pine floors, while the full moon illuminates enough of the room to see Steve's eyes intently trained on Eddie's face, flickering at moments to his lips.
Eddie clears his throat and shuffles his feet. The tension that had drained from him once he realised that Dustin and his friends were here to help rising again, reminding him of the jolt of shock when Steve had said his soulmate words by crying out for Eddie to wait wait wait as he rushed him with a broken bottle.
"So, uh, I think you should come home with me. My place is empty but for me and it'll be safer than hanging out here," Steve offers.
He glances at Eddie's hair, which must truly be bedraggled by this point after the amount of times he's clutched it in fear and anxiety. "You can clean up and get a meal too; you must be exhausted."
And it sounds like a really fantastic offer, but Eddie's worried about the slight sway in Steve's bearing, like he's close to swooping in to kiss Eddie when he's not even like that. It fuels the tension until Eddie blurts out, "I'm not gay."
"What?" Steve blinks, pulling back, but curiously Eddie doesn't feel any better for his withdrawal.
Nevertheless, he takes the moment to edge away, just slightly because he doesn't want the guy to think he's a bigot. It's just that he doesn't see Steve like that.
"Yeah, I mean, I said your words so I know we're soulmates..."
Steve looks down at his wrist, thoughtfully thumbing what are you doing here. "But you don't like guys?"
Eddie shakes his head gently, genuinely sorry in the face of Steve's confusion. "No, but that just means we're platonic, right?" A jitter of an old fear runs through him and he bites his lip against it, simply asking, "Is that okay?"
Steve's brow furrows and his eyes flicker to the car barely visible in the dark of the night outside. He exhales a long breath, "Sorry, I know I'm repeating myself here but it's a lot to take in. You're straight."
Eddie nods sympathetically. He knows what it's like to live on the fringes of what's considered normal, it must have been really hard for Steve to be gay in small town Hawkins. He wonders if all the rumours of him being a ladies man come from overcompensation or from the rumour mill running overtime.
Either way, it must have been hard for Steve to navigate when all he'd wanted to do is date boys. Probably find his gay soulmate too, Eddie thinks sadly.
"It's rare, but not impossible, right?" He frowns at his bicep where the words are hidden under his jacket, "Though I don't have two marks. Do you?"
Steve huffs a laugh as he rubs at his temple, looking like he doesn't know where to start. "Rare is right, but, yeah, two soulmates." He taps his chest, over the heart where the second mark must lay, and Eddie thinks that is only further proof. His romantic soulmate's words over his heart, what further evidence do they need.
He smiles, relieved for Steve even as he thinks that he'll need to unpack his own feelings over apparently not having a romantic soulmate. He's not sure it'll change much for him he mulls before he's distracted by the expression that crosses Steve's face, uncertainty falling to what looks like determination.
"Either way, it doesn't matter right now. What matters is getting you a safe place to hide. If we could find you through Family Video's records then the cops can't be far behind."
Dread is almost electric in his mouth at the thought, thinking of shouting voices and raised guns. Eddie nods jerkily, "Yeah, good point. Are you sure it's okay? Soulmates or not, you're taking a risk by harbouring the guy who looks like he killed the queen of Hawkins High."
The hardness in Steve's face breaks, softening like gentle rain. He touches the edge of Eddie's sleeve very carefully like he's trying to offer comfort without any skin contact, "You didn't do it and you deserve to not hide like a rat in the dark."
Steve looks around, noting the wet wood and the ever-present creaking of a structure over water. His nose scrunches, "Plus I don't know how you can take the algae smell, man. I'd be running towards my offer."
The tension inside Eddie falls, a gentle cascade like a piece of paper fluttering to the ground. "You're right, how could I live with myself," he says wryly, trying to hide how warmed he is by Steve's insistence.
"So you'll come?" Steve asks hopefully and Eddie nods, passing him to walk towards the car, "Let's get going, big boy."

javier peña x f!reader | chapter three of late night texts
Tumblr media
summary: It's the year 2000. Javi is minding his own business on the porch of his pop's ranch when a text from an unknown number vibrates his phone. The only problem is, no one knows he has a phone and no one has his number.
chapter warnings: fluff. flirting. continuous romcom vibes. an: the amount of people who look forward to tuesday's makes me grin. for those who are new, i don't have a tag list. wordcount: 2.6k.

Tumblr media
You should say yes more.
to you or to my pop
To your pop. I know you wouldn’t say no to me.
you sure about that
I’d bet my next paycheck on it.
for you I’ll say yes to him once
Good. Now we have that out the way answer what the worst date you’ve ever been on was
shit. going with the hard hitting questions today
Just getting you to share, open up
probably when I first came back from colombia someone from my town where I live
They a bad host, bad dinner guest? Gimme more Javi cmon. You said you’d entertain me.
baby, im trying to entertain you but you told me to stop
I said stop flirting while I’m eating and answer the question
she wouldn’t stop asking me for details on escobar
Ah. Yeah I can see how discussing that would be a mood killer.
yeah didn’t wanna go in the first place either
So if we ever meet, do not ask about your Colombian experience. Got it.
you can ask, doesn’t mean I’d tell you
Ha! Good to know. I wouldn’t though. If you wanna tell me, I think you will.
thanks, what’s yours?
Well I was stood up when we first began texting. Think that’s pretty bad, enough.
he’s an idiot because only an idiot would stand you up
You haven’t seen me, remember
statement still stands
Stop being so charming.
you still eating
No.
then I can flirt
Tumblr media
Most of the time, he ignores the mail.
Lets it pile up on the entryway dresser until his pop makes another reference to it. Unlike his pop, he is never in a rush to open them, knowing no good comes from the contents inside.
The same people contact him. The bureau being one. Sipping his coffee as he glares at the usual federal sign on the envelope, wondering how many more times they’ll try asking him to come in for a chat.
This afternoon, though, the envelope isn’t brilliant white, but rather off-cream.
Peeling a bit, thumb digging in as he drags it across, the ripping sound filling the small space. It’s only as he opens it does he realise who it’s from.
His eyes stare at the letter, taking in the number—the one in triple digits with his phone provider logo in the top corner. The number which is making him feel sick, the more he stares at it over and over again.
“Fuck.”
Folding it, he swallows.
Shit.
Motherfucker.
He stuffs it away, tucks it under magazines and other leaflets, as though by keeping it out of sight, it’ll go away.
But it's there.
The edge of it sticking out. He even blinks, and the number is there, tattooed on the back of his eyes. Taunting him—the price of speaking to you.
It's not that Javi can't afford it. He’s had a chunk of money sitting, gaining dust, in his account since he came home. Only able to force portions on his pop as and when he felt he could get away with it.
But this was a lot. More than he’d bargained on, more than he even knew he could spend simply by replying to someone.
There's a chance your day won't be done just yet—his day beginning far earlier than yours even began—but he pulls his phone out, fingers pressing into the keys.
so apparently talking to you is costly  Oh, you've had your bill. I feel I should ask whether I'm worth it?
It’s instant—the way you make the nauseous feeling vanish. How you force it to slide back to where it came from, and in its place, warmth spreads. All accompanied by a smile on his lips.
He doesn’t want to show his hand too much. Better at concealing, playing the long game when standing face to face.
This requires a skill he hasn't yet gained. Simply focusing on not sounding ridiculous, or over the top. Unnecessary. Like some of the desperate men, he's happened to arrest over the years.
Even if his chest flutters and his mind screams, of course. Wants to ask, isn't it obvious? But he chooses something easier, uncomplicated.
yes just didn’t expect it  I had my phone bill the other day. I get it.  did your heart fall out your ass No. But I will be eating ramen for the next month.  We can stop texting so much though, if it’s costing too much.  would rather my bill be double than stop talking to you  You’re such a flirt.
He drains the rest of his mug, leaning back in the chair—hearing the sound of approaching boots from his Pop’s side of the house. Fingers typing, all hurried and determined
Don’t forget I’m out for drinks and a movie.  I remember don’t worry
He remembers as soon as you remind him.
Realising it's the reason you're able to reply right now. You’d been telling him almost every night for the past week. All worried, as though hating the idea of breaking the nightly tradition the two of you have concocted.
In a way, Javi should have assumed the bill would be high with the number of texts the two of you have been sending. How frequent it’s been—how nice it’s been.
Nice things do usually come with a tag.
you decided on sweet or salty  Verdict is still out. You sure about waiting to do the crossword?  if we don’t do it tonight, we’ll do two the next day  You sure? more than sure have a great time
“Y’sure you don’t fancy coming with me, Jav?”
He thinks of it, tapping his phone against his palm as he thinks of your text the other night. The one about him trying to say yes—something curling in his chest as he realises he’ll be alone, alone if he doesn’t.
A sentiment he didn’t mind on paper, but now confronted with, rather despised.
“Alright, yeah. Can—can I get changed?”
Mid-grabbing his own jacket, his Pop turns, surprise knitted into his wiry brows. “Y-yeah, sure, I’ll….”
“I’ll meet you at the truck?”
And he does. All without complaint. Plaid shirt on, a smile being forced as soon as the truck pulls off the drive. He doesn't even complain about the radio choice or the fact his Pop always takes the main roads when he could cut down the dusty roads.
When he arrives, he doesn’t mind how many hands he shakes, one after the next. He tries not to grit his teeth as each person says the usual things, they’re proud, he’s grown, when is he settling down? Each time he laughs it off. Spanish rolling from his tongue as he smiles and winks.
It’s performative.
The old version of him coming out from a hidden place.
Always there, ready, as his hand shakes another person's hand—one he’s already forgotten the name of. Someone he’s sure he’s met before, too.
It always happens. The small-town boy who took down drug cartels has become somewhat of a celebrity tale. A thing to gawk at when he visits the store. Chucho's boy who ran away to Colombia and now hides away on the ranch.
For the amount of time it's been, he'd foolishly expected it to die down—but it hasn't. Not enough, anyway.
After enough time, he excuses himself, sneaking down the corridor near the bathroom. Leaning against the wall, fingers trying to rub out a knot that hasn’t yet appeared in his skull. The one pulsing, threatening to build behind his eye.
He’s unsure what he wants to do, what he needs. Retrieving his phone, just clicking around, before finding himself on your texts—feeling better for it.
Reading them back, smirking at some, smiling wide at others. A shape forming in his head, little details he’d amassed to make up you. A person he was pretty sure meant more to him than evening company, but it seemed tricky to delve too far into it.
That is until his phone vibrated.
Just wanted to tell you I miss you. Even if that’s weird.
His fingers hover over the keys, a retort quick—there in his touch.
Slowly he presses it out, hearing the click even over the bar’s music as he double and triple taps each button he wants, until it forms what it is he thought:
not weird, you drunk I’m tipsy, not drunk. Still mean it. good cause i miss you too
Tumblr media
you never said how the movie was
As someone who flies a lot, I shouldn’t have watched it.
that bad
Will probably have to hold the hand of my seat mate the next time work makes me fly.
I’m sure they won’t mind
Depends on the length of my nails I guess.
some people don’t mind nails clawing in certain situations
You trying to tell me you like nails down your back, Javi?
if the situation is right, yes
What about in your hair?
now who’s being a tease
I’m learning so much tonight.
and your putting images in my head
I’d love to know what I look like in it, since you haven’t seen me.
beautiful, you look beautiful
My face is burning.
Tumblr media
your day been ok
Yeah, was fine. Work has been rough.
you want to talk about it
Not really, it’s stupid anyway. Plus, would rather do the crosswords and hang with you.
you do have two to make up to me
Best get giving me the clues then, Javi.
four letters, begins with f
Is this a Javi crossword or a real crossword
baby, cmon
Fuck?
fork
someone’s in a dirty mood
You’re such a dick. Give me a real clue.
Tumblr media
There's not a point in time where he can track how his thoughts went from nothing to you. But, he thinks about you all the time.
Has been doing so constantly for the last two days, at least—the occasional vibrations from his phone making his lips twitch and his mind wander. Javi’s brain exploding with wonder at what your reply could say.
Sometimes, he tries not to check immediately. Test—see—how long he can go before he does. It’s not been going well.
An excitement dashing through his veins that fills his chest, warms his neck and makes a ridiculous grin appear (one he’s caught accidentally in the mirror).
The back and forth has been quicker—for as costly as it was—outside of routines and work. His fingers have even improved in the speed of tapping the same key to get one single letter.
Each text makes him feel like he learns a new nugget about you, gathering a new piece of the puzzle—an idea of you forming in front of his eyes. One he likes—craves more of—wishing for other tidbits similar to how you like coffee after breakfast, not before.
That you don’t care for birthday cake, but love cookies.
morning hermosa hope you managed to grab the coffee
He doesn’t expect to hear from you.
Remembering that your time management in the morning isn’t to be admired. You are someone who is either awake too early or too late—never in the middle.
But, when he finishes. Sweat clinging to every muscle, he’s surprised to find nothing.
Even a little disappointed.
finished up for the day, unsure whether to lounge around on the porch or push the boat out and lounge in the barn
You’ve become such a part of his day, his shoulders sink when he steps out of the shower to see nothing.
His heart slips down inside his chest, resting unsteadily on his ribs as he checks and checks. His fingers fluff his hair as he runs his fingers through it before finding a strand, twisting, and twisting.
I’m probably worrying about nothing but just let me know you’re ok
A part of him had worried this would happen.
That he would allow the attachment to grow—ropes and threads wrapping around him—and it would be taken from under his feet.
He has a history of becoming hooked—usually combining itself with his need to help, to make someone’s day better, easier.
And on paper, he knew it was odd. To care for someone he hadn’t ever even met. But he cares all the same.
Copious amounts, in fact.
Far past an, ‘I miss you’—something else entirely, not that he’d admit as much.
hermosa I’m really getting worried now
He doesn’t want to call.
Doesn’t want to invade your privacy, your space. But it’s knotting inside of him. The things he’s seen, rushing to the surface, pecking away, making him overthink.
His mind conjures ideas that you’re hurt, wounded. That you’re crying, alone. Each flash of his past has the curated blob-of-a-face he’s created for you, written over it.
His fingers twitch, hand moving to his pocket before remembering there are no cigarettes to be found there. He quit. Ages ago. Felt better for it—for the most part—until now.
Now when all he wants is to focus on the taste, the way smoke swirls with the warm Texas air—
Hey, I'm so sorry, I had a bad day. Just didn’t check my phone.  shit hermosa, you scared me.  almost called you.  Really? yeah  Would you? what call you Yeah?
[Dialing number…]
you declined  I did
His heart sinks, crashes, and plummets.
Then a new vibration, one that travels down his fingers to his wrist, suddenly staring at an instruction: Give me your landline number, be cheaper. For both of us.
Glancing into the living room, he taps the number in for you. Hating each precious second he wastes by having to delete a letter that should be a number.
Pushing the chair back, hearing it screech as he hovers. Nervousness thumps through him, making him shake, vibrate.
Staring, willing the phone to ring.
Even as he tries to collect himself, his mind has already begun running away from him. Hearing his pulse thump in his ear, thump, thump—
And then it’s ringing—you’re ringing.
His voice shouts out he’ll get it as he picks up the phone from the hook.
“Javi… that you?”
Grinning, he laughs, light and airy. “Hi. Yeah, it’s me.”
Silence blankets his ears and the air, thumb circling a knot in his forehead.
Smiling, he changes the phone to his other ear. “Knew you’d sound pretty. You have a nice voice.”
“Shut up, Javi. I’ve said three words.”
“And a few more.”
He hears you suck in a breath as heat rushes to his ears, feeling the edges of his lips curl into a smile.
“You wanna talk about it or talk about something else?”
He hears you take a breath another breath. Different this time, all accompanied by a shuffling sound from your end.
“Something else. If that… that’s okay?”
“Yeah, sure. Alright, lemme… lemme think for a second—“
You clear your throat, “You have a nice voice, too, by the way.”
Pausing, he bites the inside of his cheek. “Like you imagined?”
“Better, honestly.”
“I could have called you. I have this additional thing on our plan—so my Pop could call. When I was away.”
“From when you were in Colombia?”
Rubbing the bridge of his nose, he nodded. “Yeah…”
“Well, if this conversation goes well, you may get a new number to add to your phone book.”
“That so? Who’s flirting now.”
You laugh, sweet—fluttering its gorgeous wings down the phone to his ear as he readjusts the phone.
Dropping his voice, he turns more to the walls. “So, what you wearing, baby?”
“Oh my god, Javi.”
He doesn’t even mute his laughter, just lets it flow from him—rushing through the house. Not even caring if his Pop can hear him in the next room.
"I'm wearing nothing."
"Hermosa, you tease."
You laugh, and it's different. It's rich, and makes the room glow around him, without you even being here.
"I'm not really, I'm in a baggy t-shirt."
"Not as sexy, but I'm sure I can work with it."
You snort, "Javi, stop."
He wonders if your cheeks are warm. He hopes they are.
Leaning against the wall, he smirks, if only to himself. "I like how you say my name, Hermosa."

breakfast dates
pairing; frank castle x fem!reader
summary; frank had been out of town for the past week and your insomnia had made a grand return but you weren't gonna let sleepiness stop you from having a much needed breakfast date
warnings; fluff, reader has insomnia
notes; another day, another fluffy one-shot! i'm honestly semi-surprised i managed to do this because much like the reader in this, i am very sleep deprived today (due to trying to fix my sleep schedule)! but here is day two of fluffbruary! the prompts i used today were 'scent' and 'jam'. once again, this has been proof-read but my aforementioned sleepy state might have meant that i missed any grammatical errors so apologies in advance! otherwise, enjoy some fluffy frank <3

To say you didn’t want to get out of bed was truly an understatement. You were exhausted and your insomnia had been flaring up for the past few nights. It was frustrating but you needed to get up. You were starting work at midday and you were supposed to meet Frank for breakfast. He had been out of town for the past week and to make up for missing your birthday, he was taking you out for a birthday breakfast.
Logically, you knew that if you just texted Frank and told him that you were tired that he’d be happy to come over instead. But he had made the effort after he definitely had a long night of driving just to be back in New York for you on the one morning you had free this week. Plus, the diner he was taking you to had been where you’d gone on your first (not really) date so you wanted to go.
It took 10 minutes of inwardly fighting with yourself before you kicked the covers back and got up. You rubbed your eyes, picking up an outfit that would be suitable for work and your impromptu date. You brushed your teeth, downed a glass of water and sprayed the new perfume your mom had gotten you for your birthday before leaving the house.
It was only a 5 minute walk to the diner and when you stepped inside, Frank was sitting at your usual booth waiting for you. He had a cup of coffee in his hand and a grin spread across his face when he spotted you. You couldn’t help but smile back even if you were still a little sleepy from your early start.
He greeted you halfway, wrapping you up in a hug and pressing a kiss to your lips. He muttered a soft hello and his gruff voice made you want to melt right into him. It had been too long without him and there was something soothing about the return to his presence. You held onto him for probably a little longer than necessary before you broke apart and sat on opposite sides of the booth.
Frank took another sip of his coffee while you settled in your seat, discarding your coat to one side and adjusting your dress shirt.
“That a new perfume?” He asked as you pushed your hair behind your ear. You nodded.
“Yeah, my mom got it for me,” You explained. He smirked, leaning back in the booth. You narrowed your eyes, “Hang on.” You paused and watched as Frank’s lips grew from a smile to a grin; teeth and all, “You told my mom to get it didn’t you!” You suddenly exclaimed, unable to help the smile that spread across your face at your sudden realisation. He lifted his coffee up to his lips, taking a sip to hide how his smile had somehow grown even more.
“You kept talkin’ about it.” His words were punctuated with a small shrug and you scoffed. But before you could make any response, the waitress came over to take your order. Frank ordered pancakes, maple syrup and bacon and you ordered sunny-side up eggs, bacon, waffles and a side of toast. The toast always came with the most delicious jam. You had begged the waitress more than once for the brand but she always refused - it was a company secret, you had been told.
Once the waitress had taken your order and brought you over a glass of water and a cup of tea, she disappeared to the back. This left you alone with Frank again.
“You look tired, sweetheart.” Frank’s voice had softened as he reached his hand out across the table. You leant forward so that you could lift his hand to be resting against your cheek. His hands were so warm and even if they were callused from the years of intense work and suffering he had to endure, they were perfect for him.
“I wasn’t the one driving all night,” You muttered, letting your eyes fall closed as you settled into the warm feeling of his hand. Frank chuckled and you opened your eyes to admire him. The past week had been rough without him but seeing him again made it all so much better. Your intertwined hands dropped down to the table and he gently pulled his away so he could pat the seat next to him.
He knew that you needed the closeness of him just as much as he needed to be close to you. Frank was hopelessly attached to you and it terrified him most of the time but in moments like this, he longed to protect you and hold you.
Without even a second thought, you obliged him and switched to sit beside him in the booth. Then, you snuggled up to his side, wrapping your arm around his waist. He buried his face into your hair, inhaling the scent of the new perfume that was clinging to every part of you. He had suspected that it’d smell perfect on you and he was right, it did.
“You’re sleeping in my bed tonight,” You declared. You felt the rumble of his chuckle in his chest and that sound was the most soothing thing in the world to your deprived ears. If you didn’t have any responsibilities for the rest of the day, you would have let yourself fall asleep pressed against him. But you still needed to go to work later.
“I ain’t gonna argue with that,” He said, pressing a kiss to your hair. You turned your head up to look at him, your back aching from the slightly awkward position that you had got yourself into.
“You better not.” You were grinning now and he cupped your cheek, pulling you up to connect your lips. It was a soft kiss - like all of them had been recently - but it was just what you needed. After a moment longer of enjoying his embrace, you pulled away and returned to your side of the table. You talked a little bit about how the job had been before the waitress came back over with your orders. She placed them down and you wasted no time digging into the pot of jam and spreading a thick layer across the buttered toast.
Frank watched in amusement as you wolfed down the slices of bread. But once you had sufficiently enjoyed the toast, you returned back to civility and the two of you went back and forth about your plans for the day. Frank said that while you were at work, he’d go home and take a nap. Then he’d come over to your place later.
He offered to make you dinner but you insisted that it was okay. You kept reminding him that he had been driving most of the night and he needed to relax. But Frank was ever the gentleman and he wanted you to be pampered.
Even if neither of you said it, he could tell that you were tired and that the insomnia had reared its ugly head again in a way that wasn’t so easily solved. It had already been bad before he left for the job last week and you had both come to the conclusion that his presence had been the best cure. So, he could only guess how much worse it had become while he was gone.
But you were stubborn and weren’t going to give up easily so he simply decided that he wasn’t going to give you a choice in having a pampered evening. You deserved to be loved and you deserved to be able to relax and he would be damned if he didn’t help you feel that way.

Chapter 21- Mötley fuckin' Crüe
Tumblr media
A week later, you and Nikki were pulling up in front of Tommy's double story mansion across town.
"What are you going to say to him?" You asked, climbing out the car.
Nikki shrugged, "first an apology."
You simply nodded before you walked up the tall stairs to his front door taking two at a time before Nikki knocked. A moment later, Tommy pulled the door open with a cigarette between his lips and a look of surprise on his face.
"Hey, guys." He greeted hesitantly, glancing between you and Nikki unsure what was happening.
"What I did at your wedding..." Nikki began to say causing the confusion on the drummer to double. "I didn't... know... how to do that. How to be there."
"What's up, Nikki?" Tommy asked stopping the bassist struggling with his apology.
"I was really fucking selfish, and I shit on something that was important to you, and I am really sorry."
Tommy glanced over at you briefly before focusing back on Nikki. "I know you pretty well, Sixx, so... I kinda get it. And it's okay. But can you say that last part one more time for me?"
"Don't fucking push it, T-bone." Nikki shook his head with a smirk.
You and Tommy began to laugh before the drummer stepped to the side allowing you both to walk through the front door.
"I heard you and Heather broke up."
Tommy nodded, "yeah."
"I'm sorry, man." Nikki grabbed his shoulder with a small squeeze.
"Knew I'd get you to say it again." Tommy grinned with a laugh.
"Fuck you." Nikki removed his hand while trying not to smile.
Your eyes widened in shock not having realised that him and Heather had broken up. But of course, they would have. Heather would've seen the magazine with the photo of her husband kissing another girl on the front page. And not just any girl. It was you. It was the girl that Tommy would hang around with backstage. The girl he'd lean against during shows. The girl he asked to be his groomsman. The girl he ditched their honeymoon for. No wonder Heather was gone.
"Fuck, Tommy, I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have-" You began to apologise before he cut you off.
"It's okay."
"It's not okay. Heather broke up with you because of me. I mean, fuck, you were married for seven years and-"
"Y/N, look at me." Tommy instructed, stepping in front of you and pinching your chin gently between his thumb and index finger before tilting your head up until you met his eyes. "It's okay." He repeated.
"How is that okay?"
Tommy sighed, glancing over your shoulder at Nikki. The two of them had a silent conversation you weren't privy to before his warm hazel eyes met yours once again.
"Because I've been in love with you since high school."
Out of everything you thought Tommy might have said, that was not on the list. That wasn't even on the draft of the fucking list.
Holy shit.
You opened your mouth to respond but no words came out.
"Kiss her, man." Nikki said from behind you, giving the drummer the permission he needed before Tommy tilted your chin up higher and he leant down capturing your lips with his.
You melted against his mouth and cupped his face with your hands deepening the kiss before pulling away and glancing over at Nikki who was smiling.
"Alright. We're going on a mission." He declared holding his hand out towards you.
You grabbed Nikkis hand before taking Tommys in your other and the three of you walked out the house towards Nikki's car.
It was time to go get Mick Mars.
Apparently, Mick just had hip replacement surgery, so you drove out to the hospital to pick him up.
You leant against the side of the car between Nikki and Tommy, and the look on Micks face when he saw the three of you together was priceless.
"About time you three got your shit together." Was his form of greeting as a nurse wheeled him out the front doors on a wheelchair.
You smirked pushing yourself away from the car and walked towards him.
"It's good to see you, Mick."
The older man smiled, "you too, kid."
"How's that new hip, dude? Feel like The Terminator now or some shit?" Tommy asked heading straight for the handles of the wheelchair.
"Touch the chair and I'll terminate you, Drummer." Mick threatened pointing at him.
Tommy quickly raised his hands and stepped back before Mick thanked the nurse behind him and slowly stood up out the wheelchair.
You took a step forward with your hand out, Nikki doing the same unsure how steady he would be on his feet, but the older man simply waved you both off and began walking to the car.
"Stop looking at me like that. Let's go get our fucking singer back already."
-
Locating Vince Neil was harder than you anticipated.
He wasn't at his house and after using the spare key to get inside, it was clear that he hadn't been home for a while.
"Where the hell is he?" Tommy asked, looking around and you had a sinking feeling you knew where your brother had ended up.
Moonshadow's bar downtown.
When Skylar was sick, that was where he went every single night and when she passed, he practically lived there. That place was like a second home to him at that point.
You thought rehab had helped him. He sounded fine when you spoke to him on the phone not long ago, but your brother was still suffering.
"Shit." You sighed, rubbing your face with your hands causing the guys to all look over at you. "I think I know where he is."
The four of you climbed back into Nikki's car and before you knew it, you were heading towards the front door of the small quiet bar. But before you pushed it open, you paused and turned to face the guys.
"Look... just let me talk to Vince first, okay? I-I don't know how he'll react."
They all nodded in agreement before you turned and entered the building.
There were a few people seated at various booths and tables, but there was one man sitting at the bar and there was no mistaking that long blonde hair anywhere. The guys remained by the door, for once actually listening to you, while you walked straight across the room towards your brother.
"You got company." The bartender warned, eyeing you and the guys by the door cautiously.
Vince glanced over his shoulder in confusion before his eyes met yours and he sighed, turning back around staring down at his glass of Jack and coke.
"I-I'm not drinking like I was. Don't worry. This is my only drink even ask him." Vince said defensively motioning up at the bartender.
"It's true. He refuses to let me serve him more than one drink."
You nodded, a little relieved to hear that because for a moment you feared your brother had really fallen off the wagon again.
"I'm proud of you." You admitted, sitting down on the stool beside him before leaning over and resting your head on his shoulder. "And I love you."
Vince didn't say anything to that but tilted his head until it was resting against the top of yours.
"How's your hand?" You asked after a moment, looking down at his scarred knuckles wrapped around his glass.
"Healed." He answered letting go of the glass and squeezing his hand in and out of a fist. "I should have never let dad touch you again. I should have seen it coming and-"
"Vin, it's not your fault."
"It kinda feels like my fault."
You lifted your head from his shoulder and turned in your seat to face him properly.
"It's not your fault." You insisted, reaching over and grabbing his arm. "I'm a grown woman. I can take care of myself."
"Yeah? Well, I'm your big brother. It's my job to protect you and I failed, again."
"You can't protect me from everything, big brother." You whispered, mimicking your words from the day you both ran away from home.
Vince smiled sadly catching on before repeating his own words too, "I can try."
Neither of you said anything for a few minutes while Vince sipped at his drink savouring his one alcoholic beverage before you glanced over your shoulder at the others and nodded them over.
"Vin, the guys are here. They wanna talk to you."
That had your brothers head snapping around so fast, "what? No. Y/N, I don't think-"
"We just wanna talk, Vinnie. That's it." Nikki explained calmly reaching the bar, but your brother just stared down at his glass refusing to look at him. "Come on, Vinnie."
Mick suddenly reached out and placed a firm but gentle hand on your brother's shoulder causing him to flinch.
"Let's talk." Mick said.
Vince glanced over at you hesitantly and you gave him a small reassuring nod causing your brother to let out a deep sigh.
"Okay."
The group of you moved over to a table at the far side of the bar away from everyone else. You sat down between Nikki and Tommy while Mick grabbed some soda for you all and placed it on the table while Nikki spoke.
"I was scared." Nikki admitted, looking at Vince beside him. "After what happened with Razzle, I was scared that I was losing the only thing that ever mattered to me."
"Yeah, your band." Vince muttered.
"No. No. This." Nikki explained motioning to all of you around the table. "Look, we went to war together. Shit changes, people change, but I don't fucking care if Mötley Crüe never plays another note. All I want is my fucking brother back. Because this is the only family that I've ever known."
"We love you, Vin. Okay, fuck, I love ya." Tommy added.
"And I am sorry about Skylar, man." Nikki said gently.
Vince lowered his head avoiding everyone's eyes as his body started to shake and you knew your brother was trying not to cry at the mention of his daughter.
"It's against the laws, man." Vince sobbed, shaking his head. "It's against the fucking rules of the universe."
Your own eyes began to fill with tears as you stared at your brother struggling to hold it together before Mick wrapped his arm around him and that was all it took before Vince started to cry.
"Hey." Nikki soothed, resting his hand on Vince's shoulder.
"We got you, brother." Mick whispered, holding him. "We got you, brother."
Tommy suddenly pulled you into his side while you silently cried, his thumb rubbing soothing circles against your back. Tears trickled down your face in a heavy stream despite how hard you tried to stop them, and Nikki reached over with his free hand and grabbed yours on the table giving it a small squeeze for comfort.
Eventually, the tears came to an end. Vince managed to get a hold of himself while you sniffed quietly. Your brother glanced over at you noticing your tear-streaked face before he looked at Tommys arm around you and Nikki's hand holding yours.
"Look, Vince-" Nikki quickly began to say, but your brother cut him off.
"You three together?"
Mick stiffened from across the table fearful that this might be the breaking point for Mötley Crüe. If Vince couldn't accept it, that was it. There was no coming back for Mötley Crüe and the older man knew it. You all knew it.
"I love them, Vince." You began to say before either of them had a chance to open their mouths and say something stupid.
A look of shock washed over your brothers face at those words. He knew that the three of you used to hook up and you eventually told him about the miscarriage. But Vince probably just assumed that it was a casual thing between the three of you. He didn't know that you were in love, and you hoped like hell that piece of new information wouldn't make him any madder than he already was.
You loved Nikki and Tommy.
You loved them both so fucking much, and you were done trying to hide it.
"Yeah, I love them." You continued to say. "And I know you don't approve of that. And we shouldn't have snuck around behind your back way back when, and for that, I'm sorry. But I can't change how I feel."
Vince remained worriedly silent for quite some time while he looked between the three of you carefully.
Tommy and Nikki seemed too frightened to speak which was probably a good thing and Mick was sitting there holding his breath, waiting to see what would happen.
"You guys love each other?" Vince eventually asked, his tone forcefully neutral as he glanced between you all.
"We do, man." Tommy answered without hesitation. "I know your sister is off limits, but we love her, dude. This isn't just some fling or something. We love her."
"He's right." Nikki backed up, Vince's eyes shooting over to the bassist. "Look, man. I've never felt the way I feel about your sister with anyone. I love her, and I'm not going to apologise for it. If you want to walk away, we aren't going to stop you."
"Or you can come back and Mötley Crüe can start playing again." Mick spoke up, resting his hand on Vince's shoulder.
Your brother glanced over at the older man briefly before shifting his focus back to the guys beside you taking in Tommys arm around your back and Nikki's hand still holding yours against the table.
Your heart felt like it was beating out of its chest in anticipation until your brother eventually nodded.
"Let's make some fucking music."
-
After announcing Mötley Crüe were back with Vince Neil as their lead singer, the first show sold out within an hour of tickets going on sale.
"Tommy, sit still or I'm gonna ruin your makeup." You warned from where you were literally sitting in his lap trying to apply his eyeliner, but he kept tapping his foot. "God, I forgot how fidgety you used to be before a show."
"I can't help it. I get nervous." He said defensively but managed to stop moving his foot so you could finish.
You lowered the eyeliner and stared at his beautiful hazel eyes making sure they were both perfectly even before you nodded at your handy work in approval.
"Can I move now, baby?"
"Yes, but be careful not to smudge-"
His lips crashed against yours before you could finish that sentence. It was rushed and needy, but perfect all at once.
You tossed the eyeliner in the general direction of the desk before resting your hand over his bare chest. Your fingers traced over the new tattoos that weren't there the last time you were on tour together. His hand shifted down to your waist, sliding up under your jacket until his warm fingers found your skin and he kept his hand there while you kissed him back needily.
The door to your dressing room suddenly opened causing the two of you to pull apart. You looked over your shoulder to find Nikki walking inside now dressed in his leather pants and new black jacket. His signature warpaint stripes were on his face along with a bandana around his forehead.
"Looking good, Sixx." You whistled as he closed the door behind himself, his cheeks blushing a little at your compliment.
You glanced back over at Tommy who was still holding you in his lap and now had red lipstick smeared over his lips.
"I need to wipe this off." You said reaching up to his mouth, but he grabbed your hand before you could do it.
"Leave it. It'll remind me of you."
Your heart swelled at that small gesture before Nikki walked over to the two of you and spun the chair you were both occupying around until you were facing him.
"Your look is missing something." Nikki observed looking your new outfit up and down.
It was just a simple pair of leather pants with chains hanging from the belt loops and a sleeveless red lacy top that probably showed too much skin and cleavage, but neither of the guys commented on it not wanting to control what you wore which you appreciated.
"Close your eyes for me." Nikki instructed.
You raised your eyebrows, "um, why?"
"Do you trust me?"
"With my life." You answered without hesitation.
"Close your eyes."
You nodded and closed your eyes before Nikki's hand cupped the side of your face gently and then you felt him drawing a small line along your left cheek bone.
There was no mistaking what that mark was.
"T-bone. What do you think?" Nikki asked tilting your head to the side so Tommy could see.
"She's fucking beautiful, man."
"Yeah, she is." Nikki agreed before he lowered his hand from your face, and you felt the chair start to turn again. "Open your eyes, princess."
Slowly, you blinked your eyes open to find yourself now facing the mirror on the desk. Your eyes shifted down to the singular black stripe of warpaint on your cheek that was identical to what you used to have all those years ago.
You smiled at the mirror, "like old times."
Nikki and Tommy both met your gaze through the mirror with bright smiles.
The faded scars on your face and upper arm from the car crash back in 1984 were traced with glitter like you used to do on tour. However, the healed scars on your wrist were covered with bracelets.
You fiddled with the bracelets for a moment before catching sight of the clock on the wall behind.
"It's show time." You announced, climbing off Tommy's lap before shrugging off your leather jacket and throwing it onto the desk. "You boys ready?"
Tommy nodded, "hell yeah."
"Let's do it." Nikki grinned.
You followed the guys out the dressing room and down the long narrow corridor towards the stage before you knocked on Mick's dressing room door as you passed.
"Mick, it's time!" You shouted before walking over to your brother's door and knocking. "Vin, let's roll!"
Nikki then threw his arm around your shoulders while he walked, Tommy off to his other side fiddling with his drumsticks. Mick came out his room joining you down the corridor wearing his long black coat and top hat and then Vince stepped out in his leather pants and black muscle shirt.
The five of you walked down the corridor in sync together.
Vince wrapped his arms around you and Nikki with a bright smile spreading across his face. Tommy sprung himself in the air with one hand on Micks shoulder and another on Nikki's as he jumped up excitingly causing you all to laugh as you made your way towards the stage.
You slipped free from Vince and Nikki as you rounded the corner towards the backstage stairs and paused at the base of them watching the guys all walk up towards the stage.
A swell of love and pride washed over you.
Whenever Tommy sat down behind his drums and Nikki picked up his bass, and Mick plugged in his guitar, something always happened. It was like the air thickened with excitement. You couldn't put your finger on it, but it was like a weird kind of electrical humidity. You didn't just hear it, you felt it. Then Vince would scream the first few words of a song and all you could think was, 'we're home.'
You were a lot older now but some days you still felt eighteen with these guys.
This band had outlived wives and girlfriends, managers, record companies, agents- everything but itself.
From living in the Mötley House along the Sunset Strip and playing at the Whiskey to this moment... Mötley Crüe had fucking made it.
Nikki suddenly stopped halfway up the stairs noticing you were missing and turned in confusion. His smoky eyes locked with yours and he held his hand out towards you. You jogged up the steps and took his hand with a small squeeze.
"You did it. Mötley Crüe are back." You smiled proudly at him. "This is our life."
"If life was a song, then meeting you was the best verse." Nikki whispered in your ear before he placed a tender kiss to your lips.
You closed your eyes savouring the moment before Nikki pulled away with a bright smile on his face. His hand squeezed yours gently before he led you up the stairs catching up with the others just as you reached the stage and the crowd erupted.
Vince threw his hands up in the air enthusiastically. Tommy and Mick holding up devil horns while you stared out at the stadium full of people in front of you. The crowd was screaming and cheering louder than you had ever heard it as Nikki held your joined hands up to the sky.
After everything the band had been through together. All the years of fights, drugs, alcohol, criticism, heartbreak... after everything, they were still here.
That's fate.
That's family.
And that's Mötley fuckin' Crüe.

...THE END
-
A/N: I'm actually crying...
I didn't think I'd get emotional about this. It's just a fanfic, it's a fake story... but it's also real. It's based on true events from the band we all know and love, but to me, writing this story has been like a lifeline. And now it's over and I have no idea what to do.
From listening to Girls Girls Girls in my dad's car on the way to school when I was a kid... to 15 years later and I'm blasting Kickstart My Heart in my own car driving to work... then fast forward a couple years to the 14th of November 2023, I'm standing at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne over 1,5000km away from home with my dad watching Mötley Crüe live in concert.
Seeing Mötley Crüe in person... seeing Nikki Sixx on stage playing his bass... seeing Tommy Lee unleash on the drums... hearing Vince Neil scream the songs I grew up listening to and hearing John 5 tearing it up on his guitar carrying on Mick Mars' legacy... words cannot do justice to how fucking amazing those couple of hours were.
In 2022, I moved to a small country town for my career. I live alone. I have no friends or family in this town, they all live over 8 hours away. I'm introvert with bad social anxiety and I like being alone. I like my own space and having my own house, but it hurts sometimes being this lonely, but Mötley Crüe have helped me. From their music to their books, to their movie; The Dirt, to all their YouTube interviews and documentaries to their social media presence. Mötley Crüe have made me feel less lonely. They have helped me in so many ways and I owe everything to them.
I know I'm rambling, but Mötley Crüe, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, Mick Mars and John 5 have saved my life. Sure, to some that might seem stupid and pathetic. Mötley Crüe don't know me. They never will. But they have impacted my life so much and I would not be here typing these words if it wasn't for them.
So, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank them.
I don't know what the future holds.
Mötley Crüe are doing some shows in America this year and releasing new music soon (I am so fucking excited to hear it) and according to Nikki on Twitter/X, the band will be back to touring in 2025.
Now, I don't know if that means they will come back to Australia or not, but just the thought... just the mere chance and possibility that Mötley Crüe might be back in my country that is enough to keep going. It is enough to get me out of bed in the mornings and go to work. It is enough for me to keep fighting and I know I will get judged for it but fuck anyone who hates on me for saying that because this band means more to me than you will ever know.
ANYWAY...
When I first started writing this, I never imaged anyone would even read it. I was purely writing this for myself, but I am so so happy that many of you have loved and resonated with this story and Y/N Neil.
Out all the fanfics I've ever written this one means the most to me. Thank you for coming along on this journey. I have had a blast writing this and at the moment, this story is finished, but who knows what the future holds ❤️
This is Sourwolf_sterek32 signing off. Until next time, stay safe everyone. I'm going to go cry and rewatch The Dirt for the hundredth time to make myself feel better xx

Tumblr media
Words: 2k?
Warnings: angst, delusions, unrequited love.
Note: I hate this. one of my wips I need to get rid of, I didn’t want to delete the entire thing, I really couldn’t be bothered to edit and make it better. Anyway- hopefully it’s kinda enjoyable, apologies in advance I wrote this like 7 months ago.
———
It was the weekend and as of that, yourself, Larissa, vlad and the elderly library lady from nevermore were chaperoning the students that wanted to go into Jericho. Before the kids got off the bus it was made clear once again that they will all be departing at 3:30pm and if not accounted for find your own way back to the school and expect consequences.
all departed off the bus to do their own things, old mrs Byrnes to the local library, vlad to the sports and recreation shop, Larissa entered the wethervain and you opted to stroll the streets.
After about two hours of walking in the bone chilling autumn air, you decide to cross the street to take refuge in the weathervane, hoping Larissa is willing to have you as company if she’s still in there, you hadn't seen her since she walked into the café. Reaching the door her silver hair caught your attention, Larissa was sat at her usual booth close to the back almost tucked away, your gaze was strictly on her, eyebrows slightly furrowed eyes glued to a spot out side, but the small twitch of her lips made her seem to be deep in thought. after working with Larissa for a long period of time you found yourself observing her closely, admiring her from afar, knowing, understanding what makes her happy or mad, keeping a mask was enough to fool others but to you, she was like an open book.
Entering, you walked up to the counter, ordered and paid. Turning to face her, she still hadn’t moved, her shoulders rigged and back straight, statue looking. You waltz over, placing your phone and purse on the table in hopes it breaks her trans like state with a simple. “Hey.” It doesn’t. You took to squatting down and wrapping you hand gently around her gloved wrist that was nursing a cup of black coffee, Larissa let out a small gasp turning to face who ever it was that startled her, only to look down a bit to find you.
“Oh how rude of me I didn’t realise you were there, apologies.” She said softly with a forced smile. You didn’t respond, merely giving her a look of concern, the longer she peered into your eyes the more she knew what you were trying to say. “How could I be so daft to think she couldn’t see right through me?” She thought.
“Do you want me to sit across you or beside you?” You asked standing, sounding maybe a little to stern, however when it comes to the people you deeply care about only seriousness and attentiveness are needed plus a ton of comfort. Larissa shifted over in the seat to make room for you and took to peering back out into the town.
"two large hot chocolates?" the waiter asked slipping the cups gently onto the table. You whipped your head around to him. "yes! thank you so much." you said feeling a little reprieved having to take your eyes away from Larissa, although her interest was piqued at the words 'hot' and 'chocolate'. "oh um would you mind taking this one please?" you asked him, whilst dragging the coffee from Larissa grasp. "yeah no worries, enjoy ladies." he said before returning behind the counter.
Larissa was giving you the biggest look, at this point. “I wasn’t fini-“. She began. “No.” You simply said cutting her off. “The amount of sips you took from the time of me being here, to the lack of steam, means you have had the same cup for quite some time, so you have most definitely finished dearest. Not to mention it was straight black coffee, very unlike you.” You stated proudly, whilst pushing her a cup and pulling one towards yourself.
Watching her hesitantly take a drink, not wanting you to see her defeat, you smirked in victory. Sitting in silence for a while you noticed her demeanour shift, reverting back to her former melancholy state. You took to laying your hand on her thigh and tilting your head in a concerned way. Larissa was unfazed by the action, however still hyper aware of you touch.
Stroking your thumb over her exposed knee, “come, we only have ten minutes.” She blinked a few times to settle back into the air of reality before downing the remanence of her drink. You scooted out of the booth and offered a hand to Larissa, you could feel the warmth radiating from her soft leather gloves. Once standing, she habitably smooths down her dress, you take ahold of her upper arm and waltz out of the cafe and towards the bus.
Doing a head count of all the students that re-entered the vehicle you usher vlad and help mrs Byrnes, before resting your hand on the small of Larissa’s back to help her get in, not that she couldn’t do it herself of course, but you felt the need to gently coax her out of her mind and try getting her to focus until she was back at the school.
With all the children off and back on campus, you were the last ones off I the bus. “I’ll take you to your room.” You said, reaching for her hand. Instantly though, she dodged your grasp only to looked at you as if you tried to burn her, confused you took a step back thing you overstepped. After a moment of awkward silence you spoke. “I’ll uh.. I’ll just go and leave you to it.” You said turning to walk away, your face bright red from embarrassment.
Although you must have taken only about three steps until you felt a warm ungloved hand and fingers threaded through your own and another wrapped around your elbow. Stopping, you peered into her eyes trying to figure out what she’s trying to say, but instead of asking you resumed walking with her attached to you.
Reaching her quarters, she let herself inside only to turn around and see you didn’t follow her. Popping her head back out the door to see you walking back to your own room. “Y/n?” She questioned. You turned back to gaze at her. “What are you doing? Did… you want to come in?” She said softly. “I just thought that- well… you? I?” You stuttered not really knowing what you thought. Larissa left the doorway making a b-line for you. “Would you like to come in? I assumed you would come with me.” She started, sounding confident but gradually became more timid.
Nodding as a yes you both walked separately into her home. Your eyes widen in awe at her living decor, all pieces, trinkets and art were the embodiment of Larissa. She was amused at your staring, pointing out a couple of artists to the paintings you seamed fixated on. Your amazement wasn’t just about the objects themselves more the fact that Larissa and yourself have very similar tastes, however she can afford to buy the finer things in life.
Everything was gawked at, Larissa took note of how you shared the same interests. “Y/n? Do you happen to like shoes?….designer shoes?” She asked your face dropped. “Yes! I do.” She smiled and told you to follow her. You entered what seemed to be her very own room and walk in closet. It was beautiful and organised, she bent down and pulled out a few shoe boxes. “I have these brought over from London every couple of months and I haven’t gotten to sending them back, there the wrong sizes, I think they may fit you.” She said. “Really!… I mean no.” You said trying hard not to be overzealous.
She pulled out a pair of black heals. Ones you’ve had your eye on for years and there they were in her grasp. “Here try them on.” She pleaded. “I mustn’t.” You said “sit.” She commanded taking a hold of your shoe and pulling it off putting it on herself. “There perfect. You may have all of them.” She said. “No, Larissa I can’t.” You said. “Either you take them or I’ll find a way to put them in your room.” She said. Giving in you thanked her and you understand how much they cost and will take care of each one.
After a while of sitting on the floor she lay down with her eyes fluttering. “How about I put you to bed hmmm?” You asked. Larissa looked at her watch. “It’s only five.” You placed the shoes back in there boxes and stacked them on top of each other. “Yes but your exhausted, if you like I’ll come back later and bring some food?” You wondered taking a hold of her elbows as she held onto the insides of yours. Larissa didn’t answer, she merely smiled and walked out into her room and paced to a beautiful tall chested draws and pulled out a navy satin sleep set.
You stood awkwardly in the closet doorway as you watched her ‘should I go back and rearrange the shoes or?…’ you thought, not knowing if you should just leave to give her privacy or what. Larissa tossed the set on her ridiculously large and lavish bed and turned to you. “Y/n would you mind unzipping my dress, I just have trouble reaching behind.” She asked. Butterflies erupted in your stomach at her request, your strong, stern and hopeful front melting away.
You reached up and grabbed her zip dragging it down the expanse of her back, her bra clasp came into view as well as the freckles that littered her skin that you hadn’t seen before. Your hands lingered a little to long and Larissa slowly turned to face you. “I know, someone like me not being able to reach is quite sporadic isn’t it.” She blushed ducking her head. “Not at all, not everyone is as flexible as others, I know I’m certainly not.” You said with a chuckle.
Larissa smiled and moved her hand to her shoulder to peal the material away, slow enough for it to be your queue to leave if need be. That you did, you turned on your heals and made your way back into the walk-in robe to peer at her other belongings.
“You can come back.” She spoke softly, if it were you, you’d probably yell it for some reason even if it’s unnecessary. “Larissa?” You asked, walking to her bed pulling back the covers for her, she plopped on the bed taking out her earrings and removing the rest of her jewellery. “Mmm?” She hummed in acknowledgment. You busied yourself with pulling out the pins in her hair and for once you weren’t the first one to relies how intimate the whole afternoon has been.
“Do you think you could tell me what’s going on in your mind.” You asked concentrating on her hair, trying hard not to pull or hurt. Larissa let out a sigh as if she was dreading the question. “I’m just… not myself today. I’ve been thinking of the past a little to much lately and things I should have done and what things I could have done differently, unhealthy I know but that’s all.” She said in a low velvety voice. “I see. You know I’m here to listen to anything you have to say, I support you and care very much about your wellbeing, no matter how laughable that sounds.” You said.
Larissa raised her chin and looked up through her lashes at your face. A doting, sweet expression graced your face. “Thank you, darling.” She whispered. “Lay down, I’ll draw the curtains and I’ll go ok.” You pulled the covers up over her body to get warm.
With the curtains drawn and all things done, you made your way back to Larissa’s side of the bed. Her eyes fluttered shut as you dipped beside her, larissa looked peaceful and relaxed, it’s a little foreign being so close to larissa in her own home and in her most vulnerable state. You couldn’t manage to tear your eyes away from her soft lips and gorgeous free hair, until you relised her pyjamas had slightly fallen down her shoulder. More freckles adorned her pale skin, had you been aware of her lingering gaze you wouldn’t had stared for so long with out a word.
“What’s the matter?” She asked. “Oh! Nothing, I… sorry I was just, admiring.” You confessed. Your skin turned red once again, you could have just lied but what the use in not telling her how utterly beautiful she is. “Admiring?” She asked with a little smile. “Yes. Your just so…” you began. “A curiosity.” She whispered with her eyes turning sad and seemingly hurt. “No not at all, your beautiful, stunning, exquisite even.” You grinned down at her seeing the way her eyes sparkle at your words.
“Oh.” She said clearly not ready for you to say such wonderful things to her. ‘I love you’. You thought. For the longest time you had been alone and so had Larissa, it feels like your saving each other from drowning in loneliness, a life raft for one another. Her expression changed to complete confusion with wide eyes. “What?” You asked. “You-just…. Did you just say I love you.” She asked almost out of breath. ‘No. No fucking way I just did that.’ Without thinking you shot up and ran to the door and left without so much as a peep.
“Wait-no! Please, I, y/n!” Larissa shouted clambering off and out of the bed, she ripped out her dressing gown and slipped on a pair of flats within 30 seconds and sprinted to your quarters through passage ways to avoid potential eyes. Arriving, she knocked on the door relentlessly to no avail, only to find that the door was unlocked. Stepping in the room cautiously she found you curled in bed with multiple layers of bedding covering your shaking body. Larissa took it upon herself to remove her shoes and gown before fighting you to let go of your vice grip on the blankets, you were laying on your stomach with your face pressed into the pillows. Larissa sunk down into the bed slipping beside you re-covering you both with the covers before she turned on her side and wrapped her arms around your waist and pulled you flush to her, front to front.
You hid your head in your hands against her breasts wishing your were invisible. “Y/n. I need you to look at me for what I’m about to say.” She asked, earning a whimper of refusal from you. So she did what was necessary, Larissa grasped your hands prying them away from your face to be met with a wet mess of a face, your eyes open and involuntarily you mouth twitches into a small smile just by looking at her, but faded when you remember what just happened revoking your sight and shutting your eyes again. “Look at me love.” She asked, cupping your cheek using the backs of her fingers to wipe away the tears.
You took a deep breath and looked at her again. “Y/n..” she started. “I love you to.” She said running her fingers through your hair. You stared at her and waited for her to continue. “You asked me what I was thinking about today and I told you I wasn’t feeling like myself… but the truth is, I was watching you for a while this morning, admiring. But I relised that you could never want me. You could never possibly feel the same. Then when you walked in I started to think about previous relationships I’ve had and how terrible they turned out.”
You couldn’t believe it, Larissa Weems, your boss and friend, the most elegant and graceful woman you had ever met loves you. “I-I…” you stuttered , but being unable to conjure words the only option was to show her how you feel. You moved your hands to her face and slowly moved up, each others breath’s mingling, noses and lips lightly brushing, you pull back just to look into her eyes silently asking if it were ok. Larissa crashed her lips onto yours, passionate and strong but oh so loving.
Or at least that's what you wished would of happened if she hadn't let you go back to you quarters when you arrived back at the school. if only Larissa had caught up to you when you turned to leave her, if only she threaded her fingers through your own and stopped you. The small imaginary scenarios are what keeps your mind active but heart heavy, you wouldn't be laying in bed sobbing dreaming of such delusional things, but i suppose we cant all get the ones we love in the end right?
______
its been a week since your little awkward incident and both yourself and Larissa have been avoiding each other like the plague, although every night Larissa walks past your quarters to get back to her own, trying to have enough courage to just ask if your ok, but never does, not until she heard struggled breaths and choked sobs emanating from within your room. it was quiet late, very late in fact, almost ten past three in the morning.
she stood outside your door with her back resting on the architrave. "i don't know what I'm supposed to do, i mean i look so stupid crying over a woman i know doesn't want me, why would she? i give her no reason for her to be interested in me, I'm nothing, no one, but is it so wrong to be in love with Larissa?" you asked talking to no one in particular out your window. Larissa's pursed lips pried open in disbelief at your words.
she turned and and without hesitation knocked, wanting- needing to see you, needing your eyes to look at her, needing to be close, not caring who or what you were talking to. after a brief moment you swung open the door with furrowed brows until you saw her, your face dropped at her appearance.
standing there in silence her eyes seemed to tell you something you couldn't understand. Larissa brushed past you and welcomed herself into your room, confused, you closed the door to face her. "I'm afraid I've been quite the asshole." she said. "pardon?" you asked. “I’m sorry y/n, it’s been hard avoiding you and if you would let me… I’d like to apologise and hopefully we can work on this.” She said gesturing between the two of you.
You stood planted to the ground until you took small steps towards her and embraced her in a hug as an acceptance. “I don’t know what you’re going through right now but I only wish to help, please don’t push me away. Even though you don’t feel the same way about me, assuming you just heard, then that’s ok.” You said pulling away from her looking into Larissa’s sad eyes. “I think I can love you, I will learn to, I have to learn how to love again first y/n, but I won’t push you away I’ll try to keep you close I promise.”
At that you lead her out to your balcony and sat down watching the stars soaking in this new kind of relationship, whether it will eventuate into something more then a friendship doesn’t matter because at the end of the day Larissa knows you will always be there, the cards are now resting in her hands, not all expectations are met, not every story ends happily, but for now it’s just the two of you, no one else and you will forever be bonded, now we will never know.

🎧 Without You — Oh Wonder
Tumblr media
the smell of sweet syrups and ground coffee beans hung finely in the air. you inhaled deeply - you loved this cafe so much. the dark rosewood floors, the warm, open-bulb lighting; there was such a perfectly cosy atmosphere in this place that no other coffee shop in town could replicate, no matter how hard they seemed to try. you’d take it over a starbucks any day.
you’d managed to snag your favourite spot, an old, but extremely comfy, large grey sofa in the corner of the cafe. as you surveyed the rest of the shop, you noted how it was impressively busy for an ordinary tuesday morning in this small town, and you were glad to see business was doing so well. you felt a twinge of guilt.
no thanks to you. you hadn’t dropped by in quite some time now. not since the breakup. you and sunghoon used to come here for coffee at least once a week back when you were dating… anyway, it felt good to be back, at least.
‘y/n?’ a voice pulled you out of your thoughts.
you turned, eyes widening as you were greeted by sunghoon, standing at the end of the sofa. he looked good - great, even. in just a plain white t-shirt and blue jeans, he still managed, somehow, to look effortlessly put-together, as if he’d just strolled straight off a runway and through the doors of a coffee shop.
‘y/n,’ he repeated your name awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. ‘hey, it’s been a while... how are you?’
you did your best to push past your shock at seeing him again so unexpectedly, and forced a smile.
‘hoon! i’m doing good! how have you been?’ you gestured for him to sit, and he took the seat opposite you.
‘i’m not bad yeah, been working a lot.’ he set his iced latte down on the table in front of him. ‘no drink?’ he added with a slight eyebrow raise, nodding to the empty coaster in front of you.
‘i’m just waiting on it,’ you replied, tilting your head towards the collection point by the coffee machine at the end of the bar. your smile came a little more naturally now - sunghoon had always been so observant when the two of you were together.
‘you look great,’ he said, honestly. feeling his gaze on you, your cheeks flushed slightly. ‘uh, thanks. you too,’ you admitted after a moment. because he really did. you had to make an effort not to stare; the way his dark hair was styled parted, framing his face quite perfectly.
‘so you’re still working down the office then?’ you cleared your throat, changing the subject. you felt a stab of sympathy, knowing how much of a bore he’d always found his desk job.
‘actually, no,’ he smiled, stirring the ice around in his glass with his straw, causing it to clink softly. ‘i’m actually… modelling now,’ he glanced up and shot you a sheepish grin.
‘be serious,’ you replied, gawking in disbelief. ‘what?! how?’
‘i got cast just, y’know, on the street. some guy invited me to the agency, said i had the face for it,’ you thought he almost looked a little shy as he was telling you this. ‘i thought it was a bust at first, i almost didn’t go along, but… that was a few months ago now. i’ve had some bookings since then.’
you caught yourself with your mouth still hanging open in shock, and shut it quickly. you tried to gain a little composure. ‘who could’ve guessed: hoon the model,’ you teased, and he flashed a grin back at you before poking his tongue between his teeth cheekily.
‘oh, that’s it right there, that’s the face he must’ve been talking about!’ you laughed as sunghoon leaned into your teasing, continuing to make silly faces at you from across the coffee table.
when you’d finally managed to stop laughing, sunghoon smiled to himself, secretly pleased at how relaxed you still seemed around him even after all this time. he took a sip of his drink as he watched you glancing around the space that the two of you had spent so much time in together. he’d be lying if he said that he didn’t miss it. didn’t miss you.
‘and you?’ he prompted. ‘anything new and exciting going on in your life? any contenders to top my news?’
you looked down, suddenly feeling embarrassed. ‘uhm, not really. nothing much has really changed for me, except-’
‘here you go baby,’
a tall, angular young man with slicked back hair leaned down between the two of you, placing two mugs down on the table before sitting beside you on the sofa.
he slung an arm around your shoulder and kissed your cheek.
‘who’s your friend?’ he asked, with what sunghoon thought was an irritatingly charming smile.
‘um, jay, this is hoo- um, sunghoon, he’s an old friend, sunghoon, this is jay, my… boyfriend,’ you bit your lip hard, watching sunghoon’s expression carefully as you relayed this information to him.
for just a split second, you thought you saw hurt flash across his eyes. but then it was gone. he shook jay’s hand when it was offered, before promptly excusing himself. as he got up to leave, you caught his eye, and for just a moment he gave you a small, sad smile. and then he was gone, leaving you staring holes into his back as he exited the coffee shop.
‘swear i’ve seen him somewhere before,’ jay muttered, stirring a spoon around idly in his mug.
‘mm, he’s just got one of those faces,’ you murmured quietly.

Hi, hope you doing well, got another request for you
Yandere Hu Tao and Tighnari with a darling who succesfully escaped them for a year before being found again
Take your time, no need to stress this😄
Thank you for the request! And yeah I'm doing quite well at the moment :) . Sorry for not being that active for past few Days.
Also warning, I might have written them quite out of character, sorry for that
I Hope you enjoy
Tumblr media
Hu Tao
⚰️ Ahh Hu Tao, our beloved prankster girl~
⚰️ Let's make one thing clear before we get into the scenario proper, after kidnaping you she made everyone think you're dead, becouse of that there probably wouldn't be anyone to look for you, so the escape is all up to you.
⚰️ After you escape, she WILL look for you anywhere she possibly can, desperate to get you back.
⚰️ She'l search all the Liyue, only to not he able to find you anywhere...
⚰️ A whole year Has passed ever since your escape. Hu Tao tried to keep up her cheerfull persona in public, but it was clear to everyone that something was off.
⚰️ Then one Day, while out on some business trip related to the Funeral Parlor in a diffrent region, she sees someone familiar...
⚰️ At first she can't believe her eyes, but the more she stares at you the more she is sure it is you...
⚰️ She will stalk follow you around, making sure you can't notice her. She hasn't saw you in sooo long~ It's only natural she'l want to check on how you are doing without her.
⚰️ Once you reach a more isolated environment she reveals herself to you, a big smile on her face once she sees your horrified expression.
⚰️ She lost you once before, she will make sure the same thing will not happen ever again~
Tumblr media
Tighnari
🍃 I think it's a common knowledge by now, but fennek foxes mate for life.
🍃 If you ever escape... oh boy. He is gonna be HEARTBROKEN, tears making their way down his face as he searches around every nook and cranny.
🍃 Once he realises you are truly out of his reach and he lost you, he'l kind off break...
🍃 He'l take a (Indefinite) break from his responsibilities as a forest watcher, spending most of his time clinging to whatever you left behind after escaping. It's a kinda pathetic sight
🍃 That behavior would continue for quite a longer while, most likely for rest of his life if not for one small thing... he found you again.
🍃 He wasn't even looking for you... he just stumbled across when in town.
🍃 Tighnari wouldn't even wait a second before tackling you into a tight hug, his heart beating harder than ever before.
🍃 He doesn't care if anyone is looking at him weirdly, or that you are struggling away from his grip.
🍃 All he cares about is that he Has you again, his beatifull mate~

Well That was fun to write! I sure Hope that you'l enjoy this! Sorry if it wasn't to your liking :(
Like always I'm open to criticism

For the Steve zombie au, may i request r and Steve’s friends getting to know each other? Maybe they’re all eating together and r realizing she can trust these people and Steve is just so happy they all get along?
thank you for your request my love! steve zombie!au | fem!reader ♥︎ 1.2k
You're majorly surprised that Steve would be friends with Jonathan Byers. It probably seems like old news given the apocalyptic circumstances, but you remember the epic and tragic bumps of their love triangle. Nancy bouncing between them, and the eventual messy breakup.
You're unsure if Steve knows you'd been there that night at the Halloween party. His Risky Business costume had actually done a lot to humanise him when you first met him again in the early days, and he'd been a total jerk. He'd say something cruel and you'd remember his sunglasses and his chicken dancing and get over it.
You're not in the early days anymore. Months of hiking and fighting and zombies and, amazingly, falling in love. Steve would kick the shit out of anyone if they talked to you the way he had, and his apology for being such a grump comes everyday and in new ways.
He has his hand between your thighs, fingertips stroking circles up toward your knee.
"No, man, I'm serious, it was a shit show! First you, then Hargrove," he's saying, stomach digging into the table's edge with his enthusiasm. "Good thing, though, my ego was dead and gone when I needed to be humble."
Jonathan snorts, picking through his cards with a concentrated frown. "I'm still sorry."
"I don't want you to be sorry. I was a dick."
"Yeah, but we were seventeen. Everyone's a dick at seventeen."
You're having a hard time distrusting him, or any of Steve's friends, considering they're the ones who fought to get you back. They walked miles in the dark and the cold to save you, and bring you back to the community. If it weren't for them, you wouldn't be tucked into Steve's side, eyeing his cards and whispering instructions. Nobody's given you shit for it, while it's pretty much cheating, and you know why — there's a resounding feeling of pity wrapped around you.
You still have all the cuts and scrapes of your kidnapping. The scratches on your face have barely scabbed over, your wrists still sore and torn. It's a constant reminder. You try not to look at them.
Pity comes with a good helping of care, though.
"Hey," Robin says, bounding into the town hall with a smile. "Where is everybody?"
"We're early."
"Oh. Well, I got more cards," she says, brandishing a fresh pack, plastic wrapped and everything, "Cooper didn't wanna give 'em to me, but I told him the cards club got a bunch of new members. Hopefully he doesn't come tonight."
She pauses. "Can I sit here?"
You nod emphatically. She can do whatever she likes as far as you're concerned. She'd been there for Steve while you were gone, and she's come to find you too. You're starting to realise that your suspicion of her had been unfounded. For the two weeks you'd slept in her room, you'd stayed up sick with nerves thinking she was gonna stab you in your sleep. It's kind of hard to believe she'd bother these days.
Plus, you desperately want to like Robin. She's funny, and smart, and she has a really nice voice. You could listen to her talk about movies for hours, and you would, because Steve could do it too, though he's far more opinionated than you are.
"Thank you," she says. "I got something for you."
You sit up from Steve's side, trying your best to look like a functioning person rather than his pathetic clinger. "What?"
"Yeah, I got this bio-oil from the medic station for your face. I mean, don't get me wrong, you'd look cool with a scar, but I thought maybe that should be up to you. And this," she says, putting the bio-oil and a white packet down in front of you. "Steve said you liked the first one."
It's a small bar of Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme. You stare at the two items, lost for words, and then you decide you have to be brave even if it's a little awkward, and even if you're still scared of things going wrong.
"You didn't have to get these for me, Robin," you say.
"I wanted to."
You slide across the bench you're sitting on slowly, so she has time to move away. "Thank you," you say, and hold your arms out for a hug.
She looks startled but happy, and is quick to accept your offering. "You're welcome," she says, arms crossing behind your back.
You nod and pull away, giving her a genuine, if guilty smile.
Just as you realise Steve has been listening, Jonathan tries to save him, roping him back into conversation. You miss his hand on your leg and consider asking for it back, and you really wish he'd stop the game altogether so you can hide under his arm again. You've been feeling rightfully fragile since you got back. Touching him makes it go away.
But you're not a loser. Robin's breaking the seal on the new pack of cards, and you're really good at card games after so many nights alone with Steve, who's really bad at them.
"You know gin rummy?" you ask her.
"I do not," she says, with an air of grandness, her smile unmissable. "I'm a quick study."
"Robs, don't let her teach you," Steve butts in, "she'll teach you how to play, but she won't teach you how to play well."
"I only taught you badly 'cause I was mad at you," you say, rolling your eyes.
"What?"
"Yeah, it was after we got stuck inside that taco truck, and you said I sound like a dying cat when I sing, even though you're the one who asked me to sing in the first place."
He chuckles easily at the memory. "Oh, yeah. God, I'm sorry, you were still sick from that bad water and your throat was all raw."
He does you the service of kissing your cheek.
"I'm sorry," he says again. "I was mean."
"I don't buy it. That's a fake apology," Robin says.
You burst into giggles as Steve gasps with indignation, and Jonathan lays his cards out flat on the table.
"I win," he says.
Steve, despite your ganging up on him, and Jonathan's poorly timed victory, doesn't seem upset at all. He's smiling one of his more secret smiles, the kind you had to dig long and hard to find, and his hand feels like love as he takes up station on your thigh again. He squeezes three times.
You cover his hand briefly with your own, rubbing the fine hairs on the back of his fingers, before turning your attention to Robin completely.
"I'm gonna make you a champion," you promise.

Sirius Black taking you back to his dorm after you got really drunk at the club, helping you into bed, but he almost forgets one important thing. He helps you take your makeup off.
AN - sorry that this took me a little while to get around to. I haven't written anything for Sirius for a little while so I'm a bit rusty. I hope you enjoy <3
Sirius fought as he tried to usher Y/N up the staircase, his destination - a mere stones throw away, seemed impossibly distant. Y/N’s flailing limbs and erratic movements made the task increasingly more difficult. He steadied her with one hand gently against the small of her back, determined to stop her from tumbling back down the stairs.
As they finally reached the top, Sirius breathed a sigh of relief, grateful that they had made it without any mishaps. He plonked Y/N down on his bed and she sat looking up at him with a lopsided grin.
“What am I going to do with you, eh?” Sirius asked, smiling at her.
“We’re in your room.” she stated, looking around, eyes wide.
“Well observed. Pissed out of your mind but still as sharp as ever.” he laughed.
“Your room is pretty.” her gaze drifted to the posters on his wall and the lights that twinkled lowly. It was so stereotypically Sirius; an amalgamation of all of his interests, chaotically thrown together but still looking perfect. “How come we’re here? Did I lose my keys again?”
Sirius shook his head and chuckled, sitting down next to her on the bed as she frantically looked through her bag.
“No, you didn’t lose your keys again. I just didn’t fancy you going home on your own when you’re like this. Besides, my place is closer to town.” he explained. “Let’s get you into bed, yeah?”
“When I’m like what?” She looked at him with an accusatory expression.
“Drunk. Now, drink that water or else your head will be pounding in the morning.” Sirius said sternly.
Y/N rolled her eyes at him, her movements a bit unsteady as she reached for the glass of water Sirius had placed on his bedside table. With a sloppy grin, she chugged down the water, spilling a few drops in the process. Sirius rummaged through his drawers, pulling out a t-shirt and offering it to her. She blinked at him with a puzzled look on her face.
“For you to sleep in.” he smiled, “Don’t want you wrecking your dress.”
“You’re so kind. Looking after me like this.” She beamed up at him, her eyes glassy and smile lopsided.
“Just trying to be a good host,” he smirked, helping her steady herself as she slipped on his t-shirt and wriggled out of her dress.
“Well, you’re succeeding.” she declared, her words punctuated by a hiccup. With a gentle laugh, Sirius guided her back into his bed and tucked the covers around her.
He had barely made it to the door when he paused, a sudden realisation hitting him. With a soft curse under his breath, he turned on his heel and doubled back on himself.
“Back so soon?” Y/N grinned.
“Forgot something important. Can’t let you sleep with your makeup on.”
He perched on the bed, reaching into the bedside drawer and pulling out a bottle of makeup remover. Y/N’s eyes fluttered shut as he slowly wiped away the smudged mascara under her eyes.
“I’m so happy.” murmured, smile still plastered on her face.
“Enjoy it while it lasts. I can’t imagine tomorrow's hangover will be as pleasant,” Sirius chuckled, brushing her hair out of her face before heading over to switch the lights off, “G’night, love. Give me a shout if you wake up and need anything.”
Y/N didn’t reply. She had already drifted off to sleep.

synopsis who knew that you would be too late when it came to confessing to your childhood crush?

note HI! I'm back with a fic!! I wanted to write something out real quick and was feeling like angsty saur this is the result!! Hope you guys like it :)
Tumblr media
Why can’t I just say how I feel? Why can't I just let Sunghoon know?
It shouldn’t be hard. It should be natural. The most natural thing on earth. Everyone does it, right? Everyone’s always done it. It’s nothing. Just one small step. A few words. A few taps of a keyboard, even.
I reach for my phone. I’m gonna do it. I could call you, or… no. I’ll text. It’s less stressful that way, for me and for you. It lets us make sure we say precisely what we mean. Less chance for misunderstandings.
I open up my messages and scroll to your name. It’s not hard to find. I could pick your face out of a crowd anywhere. Opening the conversation, I start to type.
Hey Sunghoon, I was just wondering, would you maybe-
No.
That’s not good. It’s too weak. Too apprehensive. You’d smell the fear through the screen. I need to project confidence. I try again.
Hey, do you want to go to dinner with me sometime?
I ponder this for a while, eventually shaking my head. It’s too abrupt and unclear. You might not realise that I mean as a date. You might think I’m talking about a casual platonic meetup. That’s not a mistake I want to make. I want you to know what I’m asking. I want to know what your answer means. Sighing, I glance around my room, searching for inspiration. It’s a waste of time. Hundreds of books and movies, yet not a single one can give me the answers I need. In desperation, I turn to the world’s most treacherous source of advice. The internet.
Sure, there’s a lot of garbage on there, but if you slog past the cheesy pick-up lines and pseudo-psychology, there really are a few hidden gems. Not that I can find them. Almost everything I read is about dating in person. Standing up straight. Projecting confidence through physicality. Maybe even a bit of light contact, a hand on the arm, that sort of thing. Solid advice, but utterly useless to me since, you know, you’re halfway across the country right now. Still, slowly but surely, I cobble something together that sounds more or less decent.
Hey, I know you were back in town recently. How about Friday we go for dinner at that pizza place you like, then afterwards take a walk through the park? They’ve revamped the gardens, and I think you’d love them.
Dinner and a romantic, moonlit walk. That sounds like a date, I suppose. I’ve managed to make my intentions clear. Plus, I sound confident. No umming and ahhing, no self-defeatism. The best thing of all is it gives you an easy out. If you’re not interested, you can say you’re busy that night. If you genuinely are busy, you can suggest another time. It’s not like the park is going anywhere.
The message is perfect. I’ve done it.
I’m ready.
Now, there’s only one thing left to do.
It’s just a shame it’s the hardest thing of all. My finger hovers over the send button, unable to take that final step. I keep telling myself to just press it and get this whole thing over with. But that annoying little voice in my head keeps arguing. What if they say no? What if they decide they hate me? What if they don’t want to talk to me anymore? It’s times like this that I wish I drink. A little bit of liquid courage is exactly what I need right now. That’d shut the damn voice up. But I don’t take a drink. Instead, I do the stupidest thing possible. I give myself time to think. Yeah. I’m an idiot.
Before long, that little voice is running rampant. What am I doing? This is stupid. So, so stupid. Sure, I want more from our relationship. But what if you don’t? What if, by doing this, I ruin our friendship? I don’t want to lose you. I tell myself again and again that I’m overthinking. That you aren’t like that. That it would take more than a bit of awkwardness to drive a wedge between us. But I’m not convinced.
Sure, maybe we’d be fine for now. But what if you find someone else? Will they be okay with us being friends, knowing how I feel about you? I’m not so sure. Besides, I know that you’re not exactly looking for a relationship right now. Truth be told, it’s probably not the best time for me either. But that shouldn’t matter, not really. If two people are right for each other, they can overcome anything, can’t they? The timing might not be ideal, but we can get past it.
Then again- I almost scream in frustration. I can’t do this anymore. Picking up my phone, I delete the message, deciding to wait until you’re back and tell you how I feel face to face. It’ll be better that way. I can put all that advice to use and win you over with my charming smile.
I’m lying to myself, of course.
I know the odds are good that I’ll still find a way to bottle it. I’ll still talk myself down. But maybe, just maybe, I won’t. Maybe I’ll find a way to beat that annoying little voice. Do you know what the worst thing is? You probably think I won’t say anything because you don’t mean enough to me. That my fear of rejection is stronger than my feelings for you. You couldn’t be more wrong. In a weird, paradoxical way, the strength of my feelings for you are what stops me from saying anything. You’re amazing. The most perfect human being I’ve ever met. Every time I see your smile, my heart soars like an eagle. And when I hear your laugh, dimple on display, my body glows with happiness. Even when I’m just listening to you vent about your troubles, I feel like I’m hearing a classic tale equal to anything Shakespeare, Austen, Hemingway ever created.
Because you’ve nailed the most important part of storytelling. You’ve made me care about the protagonist. You’ve made me care about you. And I couldn’t bear it if I did something stupid enough to drive you from my life.
The next couple of weeks pass in a blur. I throw myself into school work, glad of the distraction. In the brief moments I let myself think of you, I begin to convince myself that I really will tell you how I feel. That by not saying anything, I could be robbing us of so much time together. By the week before you’re due back, I’m certain. The next time I see you, I’m asking you out.
My muscles finally relaxing, I slump back into a chair. I’ve spent a long day at my desk and am ready to unwind. Turning on the TV, I grab my phone and begin mindlessly scrolling through social media to catch up with what my friends have been doing. I see some pictures of you celebrating a friends' birthday. I smile. You’re happy, and that makes me happy.
But then I swipe to the last picture and see you wrapped up in somebody else’s arms, your rosy lips pressed against theirs.
Fuck.
My head spins. My chest tightens. I feel like I’m about to pass out.
Putting down my phone, I put my head in my hands and start to cry. Why didn’t I tell you how I feel? Why didn’t I atleast try to see if you felt the same way? Why do I have to be so damn broken?

Your Hands (Alex Blake x f!Reader)
Tumblr media
Synopsis: You’re not expecting to meet Alex’s brother when you offer her some help
Words: 2.1k
Warnings: mentions of smut, marking
You stared down the front door, toolbox clutched in your hand. Shifting your weight from the balls of your feet to your heels and back again, you waited. You waved to a passing neighbour before you heard the footsteps on the other side of the door approaching.
You smiled wide as Alex pulled the door open. Surprise crossed her face before an answering smile graced her features.
“Hi, I heard you had some furniture you’ve been putting off building.”
You pushed past her into the house. She was slow to close the door, her footsteps slowly following you.
“Just point me in the right direction,” you said, shooting her a look over your shoulder.
“You’re giving up your weekend to build my furniture for me?” she asked.
“Yeah.” At her confused look you continued, “I like building furniture. It’s like doing a puzzle and at the end instead of just a pretty picture you have something useful to enjoy.”
“Really?” You chuckled the disbelief in her voice.
“Of course,” you replied, “and besides, I’m very good with my hands.”
“A girl after my own heart.”
You startled, turning to find a man leaning against the doorframe leading to the backyard. You felt your face heat up, fingers tightening around your toolbox. Alex sighed, her hand landing on the small of your back.
“Scott,” she admonished, “leave her alone.”
“Sorry, you’re busy, I can…”
You made to turn and leave, but her arm tightened around you, catching you around the waist.
“Don’t you dare,” she said, “you, out.”
The man disappeared back through the door to the backyard, leaving a lingering curious look in your direction. You turned away from any windows looking outside, having that moment of disappointment mixed with embarrassment. You felt like you’d just made a very public fool of yourself.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt your… date,” you said, “I wouldn’t have come over if I’d known you had company.”
“Oh, no, he’s not…” She looked a little green, “Scott is my brother. He’s visiting.”
“Oh, god, I’m sorry.” You pressed a hand to your face, hiding from her.
Her fingers closed around your wrist, pulling it away until you were looking at her again. Your face felt full of flames but the soft smile on her face was worth it. She looked amused rather than offended.
“I haven’t seen him in a while and he’s in town for work. I understand if you want to leave us to it, we can be kind of awful together,” she said, “but I’d really like your help if you’re still willing to give it.”
“You’re sure? I’m happy to get out of your hair,” you said.
“I want to see how good these hands are in action,” she said and your face heated up again.
She left you in the living room with the flatpacks. This, at least, you knew you could do well. She might be the most brilliant woman you’d ever met, but you were really good at assembling furniture.
“So who is she?”
You hadn’t realised the window was open to try and let out the summer heat, but you could hear Scott’s voice clearly. You glanced up, before looking back down at your work. You didn’t need to eavesdrop on their conversation.
“She’s a friend,” Alex replied, sounding as if she wanted him to stop asking.
“Just a friend?”
“What are you getting at?” She sounded combative now.
“She certainly wanted to show you her skill with her hands.”
Once again your cheeks were aflame and you tried to ignore the conversation as you built. You turned your screwdriver, pressing down. You weren’t listening in, you weren’t.
“Stop it.”
“She showed up on your doorstep asking to build your furniture,” Scott said, “seems like more than a friend if you ask me.”
“Stop it.”
“Pretty too,” he said, laughing, “if you don’t want her, mind if I have a crack?”
“Don’t you dare,” she snapped.
“Bit jealous there?”
You heard the hit of a palm against an arm. You pressed your lips together, suppressing a smile. You weren’t used to seeing Alex in the role of sister. It was surprisingly endearing.
“You look at her the way I looked at Cindy in sixth grade,” he said.
“And how’s that?” she asked, the scepticism clear in her voice.
“Like you’d share your fruit snacks with her,” he said, “in other words, completely besotted.”
Another palm to the arm. You weren’t listening. You couldn’t be listening. This was too much, too intimate. Alex would hate for you to be hearing this conversation. You were just building a chest of drawers. You were being a good friend. A good friend who may have been hoping to impress the pretty woman she had a crush on.
“I’m just glad you have someone to do these kinds of things for you. Now I don’t have to worry,” he said.
“You shouldn’t have been worrying anyway. I’m an adult. I can take care of myself,” she protested.
“And now you have someone taking care of you. Someone good with her hands.”
“Scott.” You knew that warning tone.
“Alex,” he mocked.
“Please don’t ruin this for me,” she said.
“Why would I ruin this for you?” he asked.
“I know you, Scott,” she said, “and I haven’t actually told her how I feel.”
“I’ve got you,” he said “think of me as your wingman.”
“I have no chance.”
Alex came to check on you not long after that. She had a beer in hand, passing it over to you. You grinned, pressing the cool glass to the heated skin of your neck. Her eyes were on you before darting away.
“Summer really snuck up on us this year, huh,” you said.
She was sitting on the sofa above you, hands caught between her knees. She’d tied her hair up in the hot summer air and it was making you need to drink deeply from your bottle of beer. There was something exciting about knowing she wanted more from your relationship too. Like anticipation hovering over your head.
“How’s the building going?” she asked.
“It’s a good thing I have strong forearms,” you said, stretching one of your arms out in front of you.
You liked the feeling of her eyes on you, checking you out.
“Murder on the knees, though,” you said, “usually I’m kneeling for other, more pleasurable reasons.”
The flush over her cheeks was so incredibly pretty. It stole your breath how wonderful she looked, and the joy of making her look like that filled your veins. You’d always enjoyed flirting with Alex. Sometimes she came back with the most surprising things, like the filthy laugh you’d heard with her lips pressed against your ear while standing at the bar at O’Keefe’s.
“So.” You dragged your eyes away from Alex, finding Scott entering the room, “you got a boyfriend? Girlfriend? Partner? Live in mother?”
“No, no, no, and no,” you replied, pretending not to see the look Alex was shooting at him.
“Casually dating someone?” he asked.
“Nope,” you replied.
“Good in bed?” he shot off next.
“Scott!”
“That’s not really for me to answer,” you replied, “I’ve never had someone complain to my face. Why? Do you need some advice? It’s okay if you’ve fumbled it a couple of times.”
“I like her,” he laughed, looking over at Alex.
You shifted your gaze to her too. The look on her face was a mixture of horror, irritation and amusement. It made your heart swell, so much fondness for her there. You took a drink from your beer, fascinated to watch the dynamic between the two siblings. You’d never seen her like that, with family that knew her so well.
You could see the family resemblance, the stubbornness, the sense of history between them. It was like she was trying to tell him something with her eyes and he was purposely ignoring her. He looked to you, catching you watching her.
“Right, well I think that’s my cue to leave,” he said, a little laugh tacked on the end.
“Sorry about him,” Alex said once his footsteps had receded up the stairs.
“It’s okay, but you have to level with me.” You let yourself smirk up at her, “was he trying to flirt with me? Because he is not the sibling I’m interested in.”
Her cheeks heated up again and she looked surprised but pleased. A little flustered perhaps.
“And when you say that you mean…?” she prompted.
You put your beer down and crawled over to her. Her eyes swept over your body, darkening at your approach. You sat in front of her, placing both your hands on her knees to steady yourself. Her hands were still pressed between them, and you realised she was nervous. You made her nervous.
“I mean, I wouldn’t show up at someone’s house on a Saturday afternoon to build furniture for them,” you said, “I mean, you’re special. I mean, I like you Alex. A whole lot. A lot more than a friend would.”
“How much is that?” she asked.
“So much that I’d like to kiss you at some point today,” you said, “if that’s something you’d be okay with.”
“Not now?” There was an upward tick to her lips as she looked down at you.
“Maybe once I’m done building these drawers,” you said, “as a reward. Otherwise I might never finish them.”
“I better help you then, so I can kiss you sooner,” she said.
She slid from the sofa to the floor beside you. You nudged her with your shoulder and she smiled at you, so soft it made your heart skip a beat.
Working in tandem with her felt familiar, like it was at the office. Your fingers would brush together as she handed you what you needed. She held things together for you, her body brushing against yours. She watched you, making you feel sparks smouldering under your skin.
“And that’s that done,” you said, pushing the final drawer in.
Her hands were immediately on you, both palms cupping your cheeks as she turned your head towards her. The kiss she pressed to your lips was soft, but the heat behind it made your head spin. She pressed you forward, your back hitting the chest of drawers. One of the handles dug into your spine and the whole thing began to tip.
She laughed as you spun, catching it before it could go crashing to the floor and undo all of your hard work. Her hands were resting against your neck now, thumb brushing over your pulse point, driving you crazy.
“Sofa,” you gasped.
She pulled you with her, the two of you falling together, limbs tangled, lips seeking each other out again. You groaned into her mouth, her legs falling either side of your hips as she straddled you. Your hands slid up her spine, keeping her close as her tongue brushed against yours.
You trailed your lips down, running along the column of her neck. The noise she made sent heat shooting straight between your legs. You could have spent hours there, pressing kiss after kiss to the skin of her neck. Your tongue darted out, tasting her, just as her fingers buried themselves in your hair. She made such a filthy noise as your teeth sunk in you were sure you could have cum just from that.
“I leave you alone together for two seconds…”
Alex sat up straight, a flush high on her cheekbones and her eyes glassy. You wanted to pull her back in, the other presence barely registering.
“Scott.” She sounded breathless, “what are you doing?”
Your hands squeezed her hips, dark eyes flicking down to you. Your eyes swept down her body, lingering over the bruise beginning to show on her skin. It looked so pretty there. You wanted to give her a matching one somewhere a little lower down.
“Scott?” you said, still looking at Alex.
“Yes?” he replied.
“I suggest you find somewhere else to stay tonight,” you said.
“What?” Alex’s eyebrows drew together.
“Why?” he asked.
“Because I plan on showing your sister exactly how good I am with my hands,” you replied.
His feet beat a quick retreat as you pulled Alex back down to you. She was laughing into your mouth, her hands on your face. You turned that laugh into a moan right as the front door slammed shut.
You had a lot of fun with your hands after that.

Day 4: forget/sweet
Can a dream be recurring if it's different every time?
Read it on AO3
Taako's laying on a grassy hill, watching stark white clouds drift through the perfect blue sky above him. It's transitioning from summer into fall, so it's not too hot, nor too cold, and the leaves in the tree above him are just starting to yellow. He knows if he sits up, he'll see a small town far below him, and his aunt's cottage behind him. He spent a lot of good afternoons on this hill in that one blissful year he lived here. He's been here in his dreams a lot in the last few months.
"You still sleeping down there, Koko?" It's not his aunt's voice, he knows that much, but it does funny things to his heart when he hears it. He's taken to calling his companion The Dream Voice. He thinks she's the one who's been bringing him into these dreams, but he doesn't know why.
"I don't think you can sleep in a dream."
"Sure you can," a foot knocks against his. "There was one time I kept waking up, like at least five times, and then I woke up for real and realised it was a dream in a dream in a dream."
Her voice always sounds like it's right next to him, and he can feel her presence there, but he's long since learned not to look. The first few times he had this dream, it was a lot of confusion and static that made him wake up with a migraine. They've gotten a lot more peaceful since.
"That's fucked," he says.
"Yeah, well," he hears the shuffle of clothing and grass as she adjusts her position, "I've been through worse."
"Bummer."
She huffs a breath of laughter. "Thanks."
They sit in silence for a while. A gentle breeze blows through, knocking a few leaves out of the tree. They float gently to the ground and land between him and The Dream Voice.
"I think Lucretia's sending you on a mission soon." He hears tearing as she fidgets with one of the leaves. "Last one."
His brow furrows. "Really?"
"Mmhm. Just one more relic."
Taako whistles. "Damn. Could've sworn there was one more after."
"Nope." She mumbles, "she took care of her own."
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
They're silent again. He can hear her tearing the leaves to little pieces.
"No, idiot," she flicks his temple, "after all of this, when you're done at the Bureau, when… when you- when everything is safe."
"What are you going to do after this, Taako?"
"When I wake up?"
Taako blinks up at the sky. "I don't know. I guess I hadn't thought that far ahead."
"Maybe you could start up your show again."
"I'll have to prove my innocence first."
"You could also find a better boyfriend."
Taako scoffs and sits up, "my boyfriend is perfectly fine, thank you."
"He's the grim reaper!"
"So what? You don't know him!"
"Of all the people and beings that you could possibly date, you just had to get all goo-goo eyed for the grim reaper when-" her voice dissolves into static on the last part.
"I don't even know what you just said, but I know it's bullshit. I have a comeback on the tip of my tongue and I don't know what it is, but it's fucking good! So keep that in mind!"
The Dream Voice sighs, then laughs. "Stupid," she mutters to herself, a smile audible in her voice. "I knew the second I saw that motherfucker with his face on, he'd be a thorn in my side."
"More like a thorn in my backside."
"Eugh!" Taako laughs loudly as she shoves him. "Gross! Don't say that shit to me!"
He wakes up in his bed, still smiling. He gets up and pulls himself through getting ready. He makes breakfast, toast for himself, oatmeal with berries for Merle, and an ungodly amount of eggs, scrambled, for Magnus.
"I had a dream last night," Magnus says, "that I was in a world of all dogs."
"Were you also a dog?" Merle asks.
"No! So I was the only one who could provide all the pets, and I got suffocated under all the dogs. It was great. That's how I want to die."
"I had a dream," Merle says, "that I was in a massive greenhouse with a big, beautiful sunflower down the other end. But to get to it, I had to walk past all these other plants that were just reaching-"
"Okay, that's enough!" Taako says, standing up and picking up dishes, "time to go!"
"What about you, Taako?" Magnus asks. "Any interesting dreams?"
He drops the dishes into the sink unceremoniously. "I don't remember my dreams. Let's get out of here before the Director sends someone down here to get us."
The next night, after games and sacrifices and liches and red robes, they're camping in the woods. Usually he'd struggle a bit to sleep in the wilderness, especially with their supposed red robe enemy with them, but Taako's had a long day. He's out like a light.
He has the dream again.
"Sooo," she says, "how'd it go?" She sounds a little smug, but he's too drained to think about why.
"No one died."
"Well-"
"Okay, Magnus kinda died, but it was only a little. We'll un-mannequin him when we get a chance."
She laughs, and rests her head on his shoulder. It's a comfortable weight. "I'm glad you're okay."
"That's one way to put it."
"Taako?"
"Hm?"
"I'm pretty sure a lot of crazy shit's gonna happen tomorrow, so I just… I want you to follow your instincts."
He snorts. "Yeah alright. Sure."
"And trust Ba- the red robe. He's trying to help."
"I barely remember half the stuff you say on a good day, but I'll keep it in mind."
"I'll find a way to remind you."
They sit together for what feels like forever. As always, the clouds drift by, the leaves in the tree rustle, and a gentle breeze keeps them cool. When the world around them starts to waver and fade away, his companion squeezes his hand. "Good luck, Taako," her voice distorts and fades as he wakes, "I'll see you soon."
He wakes up to mannequin Magnus leaning over him. "The red robe says we gotta go."
"We have less time than I thought," the lich says, looking up at the overcast sky, "and we need to make a stop before we go up to the Bureau."
"Alright," Taako stands and stretches as Magnus shoves his stuff into a bag for him, "let's get this shit over with."
As they walk through the woods, he tries, as always, to remember what The Dream Voice said. But it was gone before they even set out. He knows she said something about the red robe, but he can't remember for the life of him what it was. All he can remember is her arm linked with his, her head on his shoulder, and "I'll see you soon."
He wishes he knew who she was.

Can you do Coffee Shop AU x Accidental kiss
With Y/N And Gerard Way?
Of course!! Sorry it took so long! It's been a hell of a month lol
Kisses and Coffee
Gerard x reader (gender neutral)
Warnings: none
Word Count: 1.4k
Summary: Gerard and Y/N meet in a coffee shop, become friends and more after an accidental kiss
Tumblr media
You had been coming to your favourite coffee shop for the last decade, and upon learning that it closed, you were on the hunt for a new one. This devastating news left you wandering around town for a while until you saw a cute little cafe you had never been too before. And there was something about it that just felt right.
You took a small two-person table by the window in the corner of the cafe and looked around. It shop was a light blue-grey with paintings of flowers and posters decorating the walls. The air smelt of coffee, toast and biscuits. There was a hum of noise as the cafe was, while small, pretty full, and it felt like a warm hug.
Once you saw the menu, you were sold. This had to be your new coffee place, I mean, they sold churros!! And ham and cheese croissants! In the same place? Insane in the best way. You ordered a mocha and muffin and were snuggled up with a book while waiting when a hand landed on your shoulder.
“Wow, you're early for a change!” The voice that greeted you was warm, but unfamiliar. You turned around to face the stranger, and the poor man's face dropped.
“I'm so sorry, you are not the person I thought you were,” he said slowly, standing awkwardly and putting his hands in his pockets.
“It's OK, happens all the time,” you lied, giving the man a small smile to put him at ease. He had kind eyes and smile, with an air about him that just made you feel comfort able. There was something about him that soothed you, despite the random introduction.
The man sat down at a table in the opposite corner, and as your food and coffee arrived, he waited for a person that never showed.
You were so engrossed in your book, that when you finished the last few pages, your coffee (what was left of it) was cold, and your muffin barely touched. You put the book down and took a minute to return to reality. You looked up to see the man from earlier checking his watch once again, sighing and looking down at the table. You knew that look well.
You walked over before you could stop yourself.
“Hi,” you started, unsure of yourself. “Mind if I join you?”
“Ah, sure! Doesn't seem like she's coming anyway.” The man replied.
“I thought I recognised that look. I'm sorry,” you said, looking away. “Hey, my name's Y/N.”
“Gerard. Nice to meet you.” Gerard held out a hand, which you took softly. There was a warmth to it that mad you smile.
You sat down, thinking of how to start A Conversation. How do people do that again? Luckily Gerard swooped in to end the awkward silence.
“What book are you reading? You seemed super engrossed in it?”
“Yeah? Sometimes I get carried away when I read, it's like I'm not really on Earth and I'm in the book, watching like a fly on the wall,” you laughed, “Sometimes I get so invested, I make faces and gasp out loud without realising I'm doing it.”
Gerard giggled. “You know you've got a good book on your hands when that happens. So what kind of stories are you into?” He asked, and you launched into a long and comfortable conversation, as though you'd both known each other for centuries.
It had been a few months since you first met, but you and Gerard would meet up every week, having your own miniature book club that eventually turned into exchanging CDs and long heart to hearts til the coffee shops closed and the pubs became quiet.
Over time you struggled to keep your feelings or the man at bay. He was kind and cuddly, but strong and brave, and you just admired him so much. It was hard to stay friends when you watched him talk and focused more on his lips than the words he was speaking.
And though you didn't know it, Gerard got more and more comfortable with you, and found himself falling as well. The small gestures became touches, a soft brush of the hand when passing you something, leaning his head on your shoulder in a booth when you're tired, hugs that last just a moment longer than intended, and the occasional kiss on the cheek when it had been a while. You were scared to think that maybe it was only in your mind that his lips lingered for a breath longer than a friend.
It was a cool night and you and Gerard were meeting up at a pub, as you'd been busy with work all day but you both needed some time away from it all, happily finding refuge in each other.
The pub was a warm and vibrant atmosphere, people laughing, mugs clinking, and staff weaving through the crowd, remarkably spilling nothing. You struggled to find Gerard in the crowd, but suddenly there was a hand on the small of your back. You turned around and the scowl on your face shifted to a smile.
“Gee! How are you!” You cried giving him a hug and a kiss on the cheek... or what you intended to be a kiss on the cheek. Gerard had the same idea, and you both went in the same direction. Your lips collided in a short and quick peck that sent electricity through both of you, pulling away with wide eyes.
Gerard laughed. “Well, I'm good now,” he said with a flirting smirk, and you turned your head and blushed.
“Sorry, I didn't mean to-” you started, flustered.
“No no it's fine, I'm sorry, hey, how about we grab a seat?” Gerard stopped you.
You spent a few hours happily munching on hot chips and a burger, and sipping a cider while you chatted about anything and everything you could possibly think of, Gerard talking your ear off equally. By the time your food was gone and your drinks disappeared, the pub was nearly empty and a comfortable quiet came over you both.
Gerard looked at you.
“You know, you had nothing to apologise for, right?” Gerard asked, out of the blue.
“What do you mean?”
“When we kissed. I know it was an accident and all but you didn't need to apologise. I actually, um, I didn't mind it. I wouldn't mind it again.”
You looked away, cheeks heating up fast. When you didn't answer fast enough, Gerard tried to backtrack.
“'M sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable or anything, you know what, just forget I said it, it didn't happen and doesn't really matter anyway, I me-”
“Gee.” Was all you had to say to silence him.
You looked up at him with the Y/E/C eyes that he adored with all his heart. Even if your lips never touched his again, he decided he'd be content to just have your eyes stay on his for a few more moments. But you took him by surprise, putting you hand on his and then kissing his cheek. When you pulled away, you shyly bit your lip.
Gerard leant forward slowly, and kissed the skin where your cheek meets your lips, desperate to prove his point, lost for words, and terrified to scare you off. His lips stayed on your skin for a moment longer and you felt his breath on your cheek, sending a shiver down your spine. You pressed your forehead against his, eyes closed, noses rubbing for a moment, before you both leaned in and kissed. It was magic. Not the extreme, passionate, thrilling heat. No. But soft. Calm. Warm. Like the safety coming home from a storm. The contentment of a good book. The joy and comfort of your favourite coffee shop.
The kiss ended and you both barely pulled away, soft smiles on your faces, light in your eyes, and quiet laughter drifting from you.
“You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that,” Gerard said, hand still behind your neck.
“You have no idea how much I need you to do it again.”
And with that, your lips met. And would meet, again, again and again.

Silly things abt my utmv oc's
(i don't have a specific name for this thing as the "T.U.A" is more a vehicle to interact with the wider multiverse in the story and all of the characters are picked from my other au's so likkeee)
But mainly a kinda(?) in universe analysis of random aspects of these two as i hate just explaining things upfront. WARNING theres a lot
Tumblr media
The preceding 2 excerpts are sourced from scattered papers and tapes found in universes generally surrounding the institute (including #11567 #11542 #00145 #10001 and #23479 ) The texts overall are disjointed and nonsensical. creator unknown. [[Ask M.E dept for more info to amend case file.]] 1) He's one of the best men money can provide! He takes orders with out question or thought. Work oriented, highly professional and determined- Really he's what everyone should aim to be in this field. He's worked at the company for 15 years so naturally he's at the top.
Oh ok! I mean that's a good start i suppose, What else is there?
What else.. ? I mean what else is there to say-he's successful. That's it. That's all you need really. Well surely- What about hobbies? Free time? People aren't just their profession. Ok, but why does he need a hobby? He barely has enough free time as it is. And that's wasted sleeping and eating. Well i mean, it fleshes out the character for one? He does nothing when he gets home from work. Not even watch TV? No? Nothing, you mean like actually nothing. Yeah.....? i don't-is there something wrong with that? No- no it- I'm not insulting your writing or anything. It just seems a bit bland.... If I'm honest. 2)
[[TAPE BEGINS]]
I lived in a nervous place, at an anxious town- so it didn't come as a surprise when they all started avoiding me after my brother died. His death was an accident- I mean who leaves a small kid to babysit a toddler? Really, really if your asking me the townspeople killed him. Not me. I just feel like you need to understand why i did it y'know? Anyway I grew up alone. A house on the outskirts of town, they never warmed up to me in the end. I would work in the library day to day, for the money. Nobody came in anyway and because we also sold books i actually had a paycheck. Buy myself food and go home. Rinse and repeated until all stains are washed away. Though, i guess in my case. Some stains are too tough to be washed out. I had heard about human falling down, i was a skeptic of course. It was the smell of dust that scared me at first, every time i walked into town it was there. Nobody ever seemed to need a funeral, that was the confusing part. Maybe a couple monsters went missing day to day, but they were back without a scratch after a while. I put it as something probably explainable. That was until i died- I mean i don't know if i actually died but.. When the human finally found me they seemed, exited. They looked at me like they had found buried treasure, unveiled some kind of hidden secret. And, and I was exited too if I'm honest. Though you wouldn't be able to tell-i was as horrible as i was to anyone on the surface. But he second they stabbed me in my chest. All my sympathies were gone. And, and when i woke up in my bed. Like puzzle pieces. it all clicked y'know? I wasn't strong so i needed some kind of external force, i did it though in the end. I wasn't soppy or friendly like the rest of them, so it was easy. I ruined my clothes but some eggs need to be broken -or whatever they say. When i strutted into town i thought i was a hero. But of course they were ungrateful; couldn't even thank me, i was chased out .And that's when your head archivist found me-and uh that's at. And I appreciate the job offer, really i do! I mean i didn't realise you were lacking in employees from the look of the place, then again i guess the library was the most organised place in Snowdin and I was the only there. I just uh- i need to be in a quiet place for a bit, maybe not here- I just need to think it over really" "That's fine, i'm sure you've had a nasty scare. and there's a lot you need to understand quite fast considering your position. I'll drop you off in one of those timelines for out codes! Yes, yes someone will explain it there" "I'm sorry timeline-" "A month? How's that-is that too much? i apologise if I'm inept. I'm not very good with time these days. Maybe not a whole number, that seems too equal; 2 weeks? How's that. We are desperate for employees for the archive so i would appreciate it if you could come back sooner."
