In 2020 I was asked to make the design for a penthouse in Bergen. We started with a white blanc paper to makes sketches to define this not yet existing space. We wanted to create a fluid space, a blanc canvas for the ever changing natural light, no doors, a place where you are free to discover, feeling safe and without boundaries at the same time. We are slowly getting closer to the realization and the next months the special designed furniture will be placed by @jules_meubelmakerij and the magic of light designer @fransvanhooijdonk will be coming alive. A work in progress

So I have decided to put my money in to skincare. I realized that when I graduate and find a job it will be easier for me to get one if I have good skin. Let’s be real here. No matter how strong your personality is the first thing that they will see is your face. And how could they know if you have a good personality when your first defense is to be not too show off or too shy in an interview. With that point, I have push through my decision to seek professional help about my problem. I have lived with acne for 4 years now (hopefully, this moment will be the last). I suspected that it came from my graduation pictorial in high school (2014). Since then it went on and on. Its hard to adjust for someone who lived her life being “normal” and then boom. Low self esteem, no confidence at all, overthinking to feeling bad at myself. I hear people saying  “hala, ang haggard naman niya” , “anyare? dumadami sila”, “ang ganda mo pa naman date”. I hear you people. You’ll feel pressured because all of your female cousins have good skin and there you are having all these zits on your chin, cheeks and forehead thinking what should you do to take these all away from you. Should you buy a new product? or should you still stick to your regimen?. So when 4th year college comes and still no progress, I prayed to Him on what should I do. The first thing that I thought when I got the chance (money, ps: we are also denied for a visa application HAHAHA win win situation for me) is to go to the dermatologist. I felt calmed with the decision actually you know, and that’s a sign for me. Fast forward, so last monday I got an appointment and my dermatologist checked my skin and she told me that I have mild acne (wow so mild pa pala to hahaha). She prescribed medicine, facial foam, cleanser and a cream (yey! I finally got a routine). She scheduled a cleaning this friday and I can’t wait for the best version of myself. 

So I just got home from the clinic (all red and puffy). I can say that it’s one of the most painful and bittersweet moment ever. I even cried while doing the extraction (iniisip ko na lang na tiisin mo nini! tiisin mo!). It’s normal naman daw kasi most of the patient cried while doing that. Mabuti na lang medyo mataas pain threshold ko. The first step (cleansing) was relaxing and the second one (extracting) was painful, then the third (application of antibiotic cream) was stingy, it has also this tingling sensation on the face. My dermatologist even said that the right side of my face is improving. That I don’t have to worry because now that the roots are gone all I have to do is treat it well. My dermatologist is very interested to treat me. And I felt like it’s God’s way of telling me that I don’t have to worry anymore of the burden that I have for years and that I will be okay again. Really there’s nothing a prayer can’t do.
