“Oh, Jacian! Over here!”  The blue-haired girl waved him over to where she was standing, alongside Gabbrielli and Kyō.  He walked over, rubbing his head.  The weekend had been rough, especially with all the extra training he had put in, but in the end he believed it would be worth it.

“Good morning.  May I ask, why exactly are you three sitting in this area of the hall?”  Not to mention why it was these three in specific.  Taiana and Gabbrielli he could understand, but as far as he know Kyō had never really spoken to either of them, save a passing greeting.

“Well, it seems they have hired a new teacher, and are splitting the two classes to make a third.” Gabbrielli gestured to the paper taped up on the wall.  “It appears all four of us are in the new class, so really we’ve just been waiting for you to arrive.” 

“Ah, I see.”  That explained it.  But still, it was a bit sad that he would no longer be in a class with Anton, there was not much he could do about it.  

Kyō stood there silently, prompting Taiana to look over at her.  “Oh yeah, you’re one of Jacian’s friends, Kyō, right?  I think we’ve talked before, but still I look forward to getting to know you better!”  She grins, giving a thumbs up.  Kyō looks... A bit taken aback, her face turning a bit red. 

“Oh, um... The feeling is mutual, Dracheilig-san” she gives a small bow.  Before anyone even has a chance to say anything else, a group of girls seemingly appears out of nowhere and swarms Gabbrielli, beginning to talk all at once.

“Kyaaaa, Gabbrielli-kun! I can’t believe we’re in the same class now, isn’t that great?”

“Me too! Me too! Now we can see each other everyday Gabbrielli-kun!”

“Aw, but now you’re leaving my class... Don’t forget about me Gabbrielli-kun! I’ll bring you gifts everyday, so you can’t”

The chattering continues, with Gabbrielli looking like he wants to be anywhere else, despite the smile on his face, and the other three just looking on in shock, not even sure of what to say.

“I.... shall just head inside of the classroom.” Kyō slowly backed away, still as composed as ever but clearly not willing or able to deal with the current situation.  

“Yeah, sorry Gabbrielli, but you’re on your own. See you in class!”  And with that, Taiana turned to jog towards the classroom, dragging Jacian along with her by his arm.  As soon as she grabbed him, his face turned red for a second.

“Wh- You cannot just grab my arm without warning!”

“Yeah, yeah but I can’t just let you get caught up in that mess.  We got a duel later, remember?”

“Yes of course, I would never forget.”  He gently pulled his arm free, straightening himself and fixing his crevat before giving Taiana a serious look.  “I will warn you though.  I have trained excessively for this, so do not expect me to go down so easy.”

“Oh? Well, it seems we both had the same strategy then.”  She returns his look, grinning. “So, may the best man win, as always.”

He gave her a smirk in return. “Of course.”

It was the end of the day, and Taiana and Jacian were heading to the courtyard for their duel, making small talk as they went.  

“You have to agree though, the new teacher is really weird. Like, he randomly just went on a ten minute tangent about vampires!  I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did exist, considering... You know.  But still! We were learning math!”

Jacian chuckled.  He had to admit, even though he had even met Taiana because of his duty, he did quite enjoy talking to her.  And even though he didn’t particularlly want that to end.... This duel would most likely be the last.  

They made it to the courtyard, setting down their things and getting into position.  As always, a small crowd had formed around the two, and Saino and Anton had arrived with water and such for after the duel had concluded.  As they began, it was clear to see that their blows were faster and more powerful than previously.  The duel was intense, with Jacian mainly playing the offensive while Taiana was forced into defense, but in the end it was a draw as always.  

Jacian was conflicted.  On one hand, he once again had failed to fulfill his duty, and yet... He didn’t feel entirely disappointed.  Not to mention that that feeling he had been trying his best to ignore was once again growing unexplainably.  What was going on? And more importantly, how had Taiana managed to match his training?  He was... impressed.

“Hey, are you alright?” Anton asked, shaking him from his thoughts.

“I am fine, just... Lost in thought is all.”  He went back to thinking.  Just what exactly was going on with him?  And more importantly, why?

1) Why did you choose your url i wanted something linguistics-related and initially picked "phonesthemes" but thought it looked like phones-themes so i ended up using the alternate spelling. 

2) any side-blogs ? if you have them, name them and why you have them glittery-phonaesthemes, which initially was like travel/sci-fi stuff but now it's just where i put literally everything else in the hopes of not annoying people who followed me for language stuff.

3) how long have you been on tumblr ? that is a good question. apparently since february of 2015!

haha yeah i went to the tag and filled up my queue, i forgot to shuffle it though so you're all getting a bunch of savos content whoops

i like to think mirabelle runs the college and takes care of the more social aspects not because he is busy, but because he prefers to be closed off. and that's because of the guilt he carries with him, he'd hate to hurt anyone else so he just sticks to himself.

I'd also like to think he became the archmage because after the events at the Labyrinthain he closed himself off from everyone and poured himself into his studies. This made him a very good mage but a rather closed off person.

not really a headcanon but with my ldb he becomes a mentor and they get somewhat close before his death for extra pain points lol

Life Update - 7/1/2020

So it’s been a hot minute since I’ve actually made an original post on here, and I recently looked at my blog stats and this blog hit 200 followers?! Wow! Thank you guys so much! I don’t talk with you very often, which is a shame because I’m sure you’re all such lovely people, but I see you and I appreciate the interactions we do have, and thank you for being here. Don’t be afraid to reach out and tell me what sort of stuff you’d like to see on this blog moving foward. I’d love to chat with some other students even when school is out! :) 

So if you’re reading this, then (allegedly) you’re here for Proper Studyblr Content and I owe you a pretty big update because wow it’s already July, we’re halfway through 2020 y’all.  This is going under a cut because it got long lol, read at your own discretion. 

Since school ended, I’ve been living my best life and tackling the 10293283920 creative projects that were on the back burner during the semester, including carving dulcimer hammers, hitting 90k words in my novel, learning how to draw, planting an apocalypse vegetable garden, and doing a bunch of other stuff. It’s been an incredibly productive couple of months and I’ve been so busy doing Stuff that I honestly forgot I had a blog with which to document the Stuff. 

Whoops.

On the studying front, I’ve not done much in the way of STEM stuff, but I have been diligently working on my Italian practice and as of today I have a 172 day streak on Duolingo (wooo). I’ve been working at the pool in the meantime to get it cleaned up from the winter, but at the end of the week, I’m starting a Real Deal Chemical Engineering Internship which is super exciting! I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to talk about that, but I’m really happy that I have the chance to get experience in a lab, especially as a rising sophomore, when COVID cancelled most of my friend’s internship opportunities. I’m incredibly blessed to have this chance, and I can’t wait to make the best of it! :D

I also hit the one year anniversery of me joining tumblr! (or almost, about, idk the actual day I joined). When I first started with my main blog @ettawritesnstudies, it was supposed to be half writeblr half studyblr, and then I made this blog later when it became too hard to manage the balance between the two, and then I made a fandom blog like two weeks ago, but that’s beside the point. It’s been a year since I joined the studyblr community (in however small a part) and I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far! What started as me looking up Italian study tips on my breaks between lifeguarding has turned into such a great place to go for help and advice and motivation and I’m glad I’m here ^_^

Moving foward on this blog, I want to be a little more active, and I’ve got a lot planned! I realized I haven’t done a monthly goals update since April so I have two of those going up soon! I've been writing my bujo, but I haven’t done any sort of decorating or fancy spreads in it so I want to update that today and share some pictures of that. I have photos of all my art stuff that I share sporadically so I might try to put up more of that because I am teaching myself and that counts as Educational Content. I also have the queue running with study tips, I’m going to try to set up some #aesthetic photoshoots around my house, and maybe I’ll do a reading recap?

P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?)

i think i’m half and half!!!!! for tra ofc i had to plot it at least somewhat. have an idea how i want it to end. little scenes here and there. but for the most part. when i write parts. im always trying to think ahead. if i insert a certain scene, how will it affect the story later on. do i want that to happen. and i try to foreshadow a lot. but for stories that are one shots or just shorter. i usually just write a vague outline for major scenes and fill in the rest!!!!!! so im an architecting gardener!!!! this is an interesting question though :-D
