When Tom had messaged you saying he wanted to talk, no matter how much you knew it was a bad idea, you decided to agree to it anyway.

The breakup had ended pretty badly. Although it was an agreement between you and Tom, that didn’t mean that’s what the both of you truly wanted.

The reason the two of you broke up in the first place was that Tom was talking too much about your future, which wasn’t a bad thing — but it overwhelmed you. You weren’t ready to settle down, not yet, at least. You and Tom had only been dating for a few months, and although it was all sweet and loving, you knew that getting engaged this early was like asking for a disaster to strike.

He was upset. Clearly. He loved you, you loved him, so why was it such an inconvenience for you to agree to take the leap in your relationship? That caused a blown out argument between you two, and by the end of it, you had agreed breaking up was the right thing.

You had a acting and music career to focus on, and Tom had an acting career that was just at the beginning of its success. You felt that it wasn’t right to put a distraction into his life.

“Is this a bad idea?” You ask breathlessly as you pull away from the kiss. You can’t help but stare into Tom’s eyes, which held a language of their own.

“Maybe,” he says, wiping the corner of your mouth. “But who cares?”

Who cares. Right. Well surely, it was a bad idea to meet up with your ex, much less kiss him, and although alarms were baring in your head that you probably shouldn’t—you go in for a second kiss, this time, Tom doesn’t let you go, cradling you close to his body.

“I don’t care if you don’t want to take the next step in our relationship, I’m fine if you’re not ready yet. I just want you, okay?”

And how could any girl possibly reject Tom Blyth when he’s begging so prettily? Certainly not you.

I'd make a longer post (and maybe one day I will) but since Lore Olympus, the story that introduced me to webtoons is coming to an end I'd like to say something:

I can't believe it is considered problematic. It has to be one of the sweetest, fluffiest, simplest stories I have read (hence why I still like it, it's a relaxing read before bed) and somehow it got too "kinky" for mainstream. It's laughable.

Everytime I dare to click on their tag or look for the # on Twitter or FB I see people clutching their pearls as if Lore Olympus were brainwashing teenagers into marrying a non existent God of the dead and have babies with him. What the hell?

The fact that people think LO is too dark makes me laugh. A single episode of Rick&Morty, BoJack Horseman or HQS has way more explicit content and dialogue. In fact!!! If it were up to me LO would have gotten genuinely kinky!!! All it does is have some surface spicy tropes that get sugar coated to not make puritans awkward and tbh that's sad. LO and the author get terribly hated anyway for daring to portray the most common female fantasy.

And this all makes me laugh but also mad because you'd think LO at least has some genuine dark themes but no? At most we have Persephone's trauma due to Apollo's abuse and yet that topic is treated as a therapy pamphlet because people couldn't handle an imperfect victim. Hades is a wife guy who shows little to no anger. Hera was re written to be sort of a feminist so that people stopped being annoying about women having emotions.

LO is a sweet, simple story with tiny spicy things here and there that were eventually pushed aside because people couldn't handle it. I wonder how Rachel feels about this, because at the beginning the story was extremely spicy and the only crime was being published in a platform as webtoon, full of people who can't differentiate reality from fiction.

Is LO a masterpiece? Idk! I enjoy the story, it's very self indulgent for me, but I won't go and analyze every detail to see how it should be labeled as it's not meant to be a perfect media. It's meant to be an entertaining, nice story of romance and it does that job very well. This need to demand perfect writing while also crucifying authors over "dark" themes is ridiculous and contradictory.

And I keep wondering, if these people loathe LO so much, why dedicate all that time to the infinte posts they make about how they would have told the story? And all those re tellings are boring! It's always "So Persephone and Hades won't ever kiss here because she's a lesbian. Also he doesn't appear at all. And Demeter isn't an abusive mom! Oh and everyone is ugly because gods shouldn't be beautiful! And Apollo isn't evil he's uwu baby. And no toxic relationships here, Zeus is a good husband!"

Sweet Gaia, you guys wouldn't handle Saint Seiya having Athena in the body of a teenage girl with big tits and who's constantly in the edge of breaking her virginity vows. These attitude screams of jealousy and puritanism and both are disgusting.

TLDR: LO being too problematic for people is both funny and annoying. I wished it actually were as kinky and dark as people insist it is. I'd pay for a toxic romance, but that being said, I LOVE it very much as it is and it's nice to have a re telling that, while not pretending to be loyal to mythology, didn't went for a route of sanitizing all the myths. I hope that once it ends haters will move on and let real fans and the author alone. 🙏

I mean, I think people think I want her to know about it, I know that's a common criticism made of it that I made Rekindled to like, "get Rachel to notice me", but like... y'all there's a reason I only post it to Tumblr and mirror it on Dillyhub (when I remember to actually upload pages there oop-), I stay off Rachel's turf over on Webtoons and on other major webtoon platforms because I don't feel entitled to Rachel seeing Rekindled and frankly I just don't want that kind of attention lmao That's just bad energy I don't want to invite, I already feel like I'm pushing the limit of what's "okay" with some of the criticisms I have here and Rekindled as a whole. I get enough back-of-the-head punches from her fanbase as it is LMAO

If I wanted Rachel's attention, you'd see me in her IG comment section with the rest of the "haters" asking her why she's spending more time working on memes than on her comic or tagging her in my posts or, at minimum, using the #lore olympus tags which I'm sure you've noticed I also don't do ! and generally ask people not to do when sharing Rekindled :' ) (I've actually gotten her attention in the past that way, back when I still loved the comic and I did that LO tattoo that she retweeted which was neat for about 15 seconds lol)

Don't get me wrong, I still talk plenty of shit, but I try my best to keep it in my own house because I'm not entitled to Rachel's attention or time, she's clearly doing what she wants to do and I'm doing what I wanna do, we're each in our own house, managing our own lawns. How much do you think misogyny plays into why people don't like Rachel and Chloe?

A lot. While not all Rachel/Chloe haters are misogynistic, all misogynists are Rachel/Chloe haters.

It's a sad fact that complex female characters will almost always end being "controversial" just for the fact that they're a woman and daring to not be perfect, and Chloe and Rachel aren't perfect. Chloe can be mean. She can loud. She can be bossy. She can be angry. She's not the perfect victim. Rachel can manipulative. She can be loud. She can be angry. She can be selfish.

They can be people, and for the type that sees women as less than that, that's unforgivable.

Obviously, not ever criticism of Rachel and Chloe is misogynistic. However, you do see a lot of comments about them that basically boils down to "this woman is not palatable enough for me," and I very firmly believe that Chloe especially would be looked at more fondly if she were a man.

Plus I've seen people love Nathan and find Chloe and Rachel intolerable and that just?? Like...I'm not the fandom police. I can't tell anyone what characters they should or should not enjoy, nor does my opinion about anything matter. However, I can give nothing less than a massive side eye when someone writes an essay about why we should be more forgiving towards Nathan because he "has mental health issues," and then in that same breath they'll say Chloe should have sucked up all her trauma and been kinder. Like....Nathan gets a free pass for drugging and kidnapping because he has daddy issues, but Chloe is an unredeemable bitch because her daddy issues make her kinda mean sometimes?? I just don't get it. I mean, I do, It's misogyny. But it still just baffles me.

I kinda feel like the Ross & Rachel comparison is waaaay off. Colin & Pen are not in an established romantic relationship. They are just friends. I feel like people are focusing way too much on the act itself and not in the grander scheme of things as to why this makes sense for Colin as a character.

Lord Debling is titled with his own money. Penelope is a third daughter who’s been considered a wallflower. Debling is a HUGE upgrade for her. Probably a better match then either Colin or Pen thought possible.

Colin is a third son with no title and so little to offer in comparison. I don’t think he goes off bc he’s sad & desperate. I think he genuinely struggling with being enough and if what he can offer her is worth ruining such a good match for her.

The fact is we know sooooo little about what happens before or after that scene that everyone is so panicked over. All I know is someone that I trust that I know has seen the show has told me that this is the best season and that they deliver on the Polin front. So I think hyper fixating on a scene that last 90 seconds is completely missing the point

I think everyone does get too worked up (myself included) and it’s easy to get caught up in the hype of it all, especially when people are talking about it and panicking over it non stop 😭 I trust that even if it is only 90 seconds it’ll all work itself out like the other seasons have.

But yeah, we know so little about Debling and overall the entire specifics of the season that none of us should be freaking out as much as we are. I feel the same about people who are Debling haters when we know next to nothing about him other than he’s a vegetarian and a suitor.
