#why did taylor and joe split

Why do you think Tay and Joe split?
I think Taylor tried to give Joe a timeline and he wouldn't agree to it. Something like in 2025 they'd get married and both put their careers on hold for a few years while they raised young children. Joe hasn't had his breakthrough role yet so he wasn't keen on stopping working for any length of time.

So Taylor did not attend the Oscars đ, but here is something that may be interesting.
When you Google 'Taylor Swift', you get a bunch of articles about Toe attending the Oscars, and why Taylor is not.
In addition to the statue of gold mentioned by đ, one of the đ messages mentioned 'ring', and so did a couple of articles about Toe.
He kept it classic in a dashing black suit. However, to add a bit of flair, he opted for a deep blue lapel with a red and yellow brooch pinned. To further accessorize, he wore a shining watch with ruby detailing and a ring on his pointer finger. In a classy completion of the look, Joe tied it all together with a distinct bowtie and gleaming smile to the cameras.
People's headline has this quote:
Joe Alwyn Teases Interest in Being Next James Bond: 'Who Wouldn't Throw Their Hat in the Ring?'
Toe is also showing off his ring:
A mutual mentioned this:
I remembered she viewed a Joe fan account in January and I didnât think it went anywhere. But then I remembered she played the 1975 show three months before her âsplitâ with Joe.

âmultiple posts in support of the lgbtq communityâ
her LGBTQ âactivismâ pretty much started and ended with the lover era. she released the musical equivalent of âitâs ok to be gay,â she waited until she was in a blue state on the eras tour to even barely address the anti trans legislation that was being passed in OTHER states (states she had just performed in where her speech wouldâve made much more of an impact). and telling people to go vote without specifying who youâre voting for or bringing attention to the important issues is not activism. itâs merely a voting reminder. which is fine, but, yâknow, it doesnât make you an lgbt advocate. which she promised to be as she accepted an award for it.
and despite the fact that sheâs reportedly âspending a lot more timeâ in fuckass missouri to be with travis, sheâs yet to say anything about the anti lgbt legislation being passed in that state.
she also went off tumblr because people asked her to talk about BLM and swifties act like it was the cruelest thing in the world to expect of her đ but she made a whole thing in her documentary about wanting to be on the âright side of history.â

and taylor did the black square too so if youâre gonna attack joe for that đ

and she made some promises on twitter to be âloudly and ferociously anti-racist.â then she went on to date racist pos matty healy⌠and use ice spice as a shield. AND she also made sure that her publicist let everyone know that the âcontroversyâ surrounding mattyâs racism had NOTHING to do with her decision to split from him.
so⌠yeah.
these same miserable fucking swifties used to praise joe alwyn for speaking out against men abusing their power over women in hollywood but now their whole blogs are basically dedicated hate blogs to him. because he committed the crime of not marrying taylor so now theyâve decided heâs the worst man on the planet. đ

meanwhile taylorâs working with rapist directors, hanging out with SA apologists and high-fiving an abuser at football games. her feminism and âadvocacyâ is limited ONLY to herself and itâs painfully obvious she does not give a shit about anything that doesnât directly affect her.
also, joeâs name wouldnât have been added to that ceasefire letter if he didnât WANT it added. itâs a risk to anyone in the entertainment industry to openly support palestine and no oneâs name is going to be âjust addedâ without their consent. signing that ceasefire letter may be bare minimum shit, but itâs still more than anything Miss Americana has said or done regarding this issue, which is absolutely nothing, and you have to ask yourself WHY.
also if youâre upset about people saying that taylor was encouraged to be more political because of joe⌠idk what to tell you thatâs literally a canon event that came straight from taylorâs own mouth.

and itâs not that i think sheâd be a trump supporter without joe but⌠itâs pretty obvious that since theyâve broken up (and even in the year leading up to the breakup) sheâs not dared to do anything remotely resembling activism or being âcontroversial.â if anything sheâs just too fucking narcissistic and self-absorbed to care about anything going on in the world, just like her bestie selena.

prepare yourself, this is the transcript from Deux Moiâs podcast today -
Okay, let's talk a little bit about Olivia Ponton and Joe Burrow.
Somebody sent me a message and said that she was spotted at a workout class in Cincinnati, Ohio on Friday. This person was wondering if her and Joe are talking again. Now, if you ask the fans, they'll have a million reasons why they think they're either split or he's hooking up with other women or she's stalking him.
I'm gonna read you some emails. They all run the gamut of all of those things. This person is a legitimate person and they saw her.
Why else would she be in Cincinnati? She's not from there. She's from Florida.
I believe she lives in either New York or Los Angeles. So the only reason she would be in Cincinnati is for Joe. I want to know why women are so irrational about certain athletes, him being one of them.
I mean, obviously Travis Kelce, that's a given because of Taylor, but the Joe Burrow nonsense that I receive, well, let me just read it to you. I'd like to preface by saying these are all anonymously submitted emails. None of this information has been vetted or verified.
These are emails, not DMs. This person says that Olivia has been caught multiple times liking on Tumblr, Joe Burrow blogs, liking bengals merch on Depop. Her assistant was lurking and liking things on his ex's page, and then when they both got caught, Olivia and her assistant went and blocked the person who exposed her.
I mean, just don't hit the like button, if that's the case. Another person says the same thing. I don't know if this is the same person, just wanting me to make sure I read their email.
She stalks Tumblr blogs about him, and whenever they mention something shady or shitty, she goes and deletes it. She's keeping tabs on his fans and blogs. They caught her multiple times with deleting bengals merchandise she's liked on Depop and deleting her account once it's out, or her assistant liking his ex's posts to deleting things on her apps once they say something about it.
Another one says Olivia Ponton has made it known, so many have caught her, that she stalks Joe Burrow blogs on Tumblr, and every time his fans find out sneaky shit, she goes and deletes it before it gets too big. She wants the attention, like not too long ago, she was liking bengals merchandise on Depop. So the Depop thing was a big deal.
I did hear about it from a couple of people in my DMs. That caused waves in the fandom. Okay, somebody else says, I don't know how true this is, Joe Burrow's hidden mistress, former OnlyFans model, Kaylee Trent.
This is Babydoll Kaylee, formerly Cake by Kay on Instagram. Insider who personally knows and has been involved with Joe Burrow for months reveals infidelity and Joe's hidden mistress, Babydoll Kaylee, legal name Kaylee Trent. Introduced by Nick Bosa in March of last year, Kaylee has been one to spill it with Joe and receive gifts.
Once an OnlyFans girl and now a girl with a horse, Burkin and quote, wired to retire her. What does that mean? Is that a saying hand?
Like they wire, like she gets wired so much money, she could retire?
I've never heard that.
Wired to retire her. Kaylee has achieved the modern American girl's dream, catching the eye of successful NFL player and living a lavish life not where nudity is not required, at least on video.
Wink face.
Joe cheated with Kaylee on true American girl.
What the hell is true American girl? That must be a website.
Also, this person is alleging Amy Rodriguez, daughter of an Episcopal priest in Vero Beach, Florida. What? I think they're trying to say that Joe allegedly cheated on Kaylee with Amy Rodriguez.
Amy loyally stood by Joe throughout Olivia Ponton's scandal. I think the scandal they mean is the burglary. And now is appalled to realize someone she is once trusted with her faith has turned to a woman of another kind.
Oh, okay, I'm getting this now. Now I'm thinking this was sent in by someone on Amy Rodriguez's side. Because it sounds like that they're mad that he cheated on Amy.
Word has it, Kaylee wants to keep her past a secret and embrace Joe's new type, the Christian girl.
Amy, a 25 year old blonde haired blue eyed daughter of an Episcopal priest in Vero Beach, Florida is the epitome of JB's new type. Or should I say, new wife?
Okay, I had never heard the name Amy Rodriguez before. Here's another one. I wish this was a joke, but the Cincinnati social circles have been talking about their quarterback, Joe Burrow, keeping a certain influencer on his speed dial because she treats his back door.
And has told a few people she's willing to spill the beans if he cuts ties for good. We're all about respecting sexual expressions. I hate to break it to this person, but servicing a guy's back door is not scandalous in 2025.
Hannah, fucking back me up or not. I don't care.
But yeah, I don't think so.
No. I mean, I think this person thinks that they're trying to say she has something on him. I, she doesn't trust me.
What is the point of all this? Well, the point is, I hate to break it to everyone, but I think Joe Burrow is still dating Olivia Ponton. I haven't heard of any of these other women that he's been linked to.
So to me, it sounds like a case of fans putting together the pieces via social media and fictionalizing what they think happened. Now, the rumor about Joe Burrow allegedly dating a mom with three kids, that I heard was viable. And I believe that was before Olivia, I'm not sure.
So that I believe over this other stuff. Okay, the next celebrity that I'd like to talk about is Shawn Mendes.

WILL ALBAâS IMMATURITY, RACISM AND ALLEGED INFIDELITY BE USED TO EXPLAIN THE SPLIT?
Regardless of where people find themselves on the spectrum, I am pretty sure they would agree on the fact that Chris and Abba are not endgame. Far from it. The question is not whether they will break up or not. Itâs definitely not a question of if. Itâs a question of when. Itâs a question of how. I already wrote a post about whether or not Chrisâ fans will be held responsible for the ending of the shitshow. And given what weâve witnessed coming from certain blogs last night, it still seems like a very valid and likely option.Â
The very questionable medium articleâŚ
I will not discuss the credibility of this publication for the simple reason that until yesterday, I had never heard of it in the first place. And I suspect I am not the only one. So I would argue that this fact alone is telling in itself.Â
But one has to wonder whether a fan/troll wrote this piece. Or, whether this was written by someone from Chrisâ team passing for a possessive fan to hint at a potential break-up. But even if that was true, people shouldnât expect a divorce announcement so soon. They could be breadcrumbing for a while, like they have been doing since the beginning of this ârelationshipâ. And why wouldnât they drag this for as long as they can? We know Chris and Abba are both desperate attention seekers and I am pretty sure they will want to continue with the charade for as long as it can benefit them. However this article is more than questionable. And for many reasons.Â
Why it doesnât pass the test of credibility from a PR standpointâŚ
This article is completely over the top and extreme in the picture it depicts. Chris is seen as this poor innocent victim and Abba as this super uber arch-villain. Given the optics of this relationship (he looks like her old uncle) and the power dynamics at play (he is a powerful Hollywood star and she is a no-name actress from a small country), I donât need to say that the picture they are selling in that article is a PR nightmare in the making. The caricature is not only absolutely grotesque, but it also reeks of misogyny.Â
If people donât follow other celebrities, Iâd like to mention the case of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, which happened fairly recently. He and his team tried to hurt her by doing a very insidious and over-the-top smearing campaign against her but it backfired on him big time. What is interesting is that Sophie Turner did make a lot of strategic appearances with her bestie Taylor but she never lowered herself to play those ugly tactics. She chose to remain silent which hurt Joe even more because again you canât fight against someone who doesnât want to fight back, it makes you look like a bully. Obviously Abba is no Sophie, she doesnât have her career, her popularity or her large fandom but you get the point.
And what also makes this article totally implausible is this: âDespite his past struggles in the realm of romance, Chris remains optimistic about finding his true soulmate and starting a family.â First of all, no one would ever say that publicly after getting divorced even if the marriage only lasted 5 months and was non-legally binding. Itâs a time to regroup, to collect yourself and to reflect. Also it makes him look like an unstable neurotic mess.Â
But what this article provoked was quite interestingâŚ
An all-out war between the seemingly psychotic Team PR & Team Real blogs
Majorscammer and her band of goonish cultists completely lost it last night (interesting sidenote: the tone and rhetoric used by all these mods is now completely identical). They were always unhinged, mean, arrogant, and insulting (âbitchyâ according to Majorscammer herself) but it got even more insane last night as they patted themselves on the back for having been right all along despite having lied about pretty much everything for quite a long time. They even called their counterparts from Team Real out by names and attacked them violently. Of course, Team Real blogs responded and posted an article on Medium, saying Chris and Abba were still together and proving that people could post anything on that website. They also proved they looked just as insecure and irrational as their counterparts Team PR blogs. If it wasnât pure show (and it clearly is), we should recommend them to commit themselves to a mental institution.
But as we have witnessed since the beginning, those Team PR and Team Real blogs were always meant to fight. It was always about feeding the discourse, keeping people engaged, riling them up to distract them from the actual truth. And with yesterdayâs show, those teams tried to keep the passion going as I think fans are getting tired of the obvious BS. Itâs getting so repetitive, there are not so many twists and turns and letâs be honest Chris and Abba are not the most fascinating protagonists.
What main purpose did that questionable article likely serve?Â
The answer to that question seems pretty straightforward. All we have to do is to read the last sentence of that article, which is in bold characters in case we missed the point:
âChris will attend the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2.â
Look at what has been fed to the fandom recently:
A sight of Chrisâ doppelganger with no ring
Abba skiing with her friends without the ring
Chris posting Dodger in MA for Valentine
Chris posting pictures of himself in LA without his wife (she recently said in an interview that this is where she lives)Â from a month ago
All of these are hints and breadcrumbs that Chris and Abba might be splitting up. Maybe they are. Maybe they arenât. But the point is all eyes will be riveted on Chris as he speaks at the Con in Seattle. I should mention that this conference will be a live-broadcast on YouTube. How convenient, isn't it?
Will he wear the ring? Will he not wear the ring? We have seen that movie before, havenât we? Yes, I believe we have!Â

Taylor Swift hints at Harry Styles song on Reputation album track list
Dusty Baxter-Wright, cosmopolitan
Taylor Swift is very good at keeping fans guessing. After completely wiping her social media presence and announcing her new album through the medium of snake GIFs, she's now teased a Harry Styles comeback song with her Reputation track list.
Since dropping 'Look What You Made Me Do', Taylor has released 'Gorgeous', '..Ready For It?' and 'Call It What You Want' from her fifth album, as well as two music videos.
And ahead of the full album sending the internet into a frenzy on Friday (10 November), the singer took to Instagram to share the full track list.
Among the 15 songs, there's a collaboration with Ed Sheeran and Future, 'End Game', 'This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things', and 'King Of My Heart'.
But it's one particular song that's caught fans' attention, and that's 'New Year's Day' - namely because it could be referring to Taylor's previous relationship with One Direction's Harry Styles.
The pair started dating in October 2012, and flew to the British Virgin Islands on New Year's Day to welcome the new year in together.
Only, er, a source told The Daily Mail at the time that 'things didn't go to plan' after Harry and Taylor had a blazing row, with her calling the holiday off early and flying back to the US by herself just three days later.
"Yes I can confirm they have split up", the insider said. "They were on holiday and had an almighty row. They are two young stars at the top of their game so who knows what will happen in the future."
And who could forget that iconic photo of Taylor looking sad on the boat by herself? Let's just hope her new Reputation track 'New Year's Day' reveals what really happened on that day.
Taylor Swift's 'Reputation' Track List Launches Fan Theories About Harry Styles and Joe Alwyn

The countdown to Reputation is on (T-Minus 48 hours until November 10, people) with Taylor Swift only stoking the fire more by posting the album's entire track list to her Instagram account on Tuesday.
In addition to the four singles she's already releasedâ"Look What You Made Me Do," "Ready For It," "Gorgeous," and "Call It What You Want"âthe record will feature 11 other songs, including "I Did Something Bad" (a possible Kim/Kanye-related track?), "King of my Heart" (another Alwyn-inspired love song?), and "End Game," which features Ed Sheeran and Future.
As with all things Reputation-related, this latest announcement has left Swift fans in a panic/Tumblr dark hole. Mainly, the track that really has people losing it and concocting fan theories is #15, titled "New Year's Day." Two intense theories have emerged on social media, one involving T.Swift's ex Harry Styles, and the other involving her current beau, British actor Joe Alwyn.
This content can also be viewed on the site it originates from.
First up, the Styles theory: According to Cosmopolitan, "New Year's Day" may be a reference to Swift and Style's breakup during the 2012 holiday season. The couple, who began dating in October of that year, planned to ring in the New Year together in the British Virgin Islands, but Swift ended up flying back to U.S. three days early. A source told The Daily Mail at the time, "they were on holiday and had an almighty row," which resulted in their breakup and the photo seen 'round the world of T. Swift looking really, really sad on a boat.
While the title of the song does seem telling, would Taylor really be singing about a breakup that happened five years ago? Especially after several songs on 1989 seemed to address her romance with Styles? Haylor fans can only hope.
Is Taylor Swift's ''...Ready for It'' About Harry Styles or Joe Alwyn? Enewsi
Singer's new song off Reputation addresses a younger lover
Taylor Swift dropped "...Ready for It" over the weekend, much to her fans' surprise and great interest.
You see, not only was the song another look inside the "new Taylor's" upcoming album Reputation, but it also addressed a love interest...and you know we can't help but try to figure out who her muse might be.
Taking a look at the song's lyrics, Swifties came up with the two biggest possibilities: Swift's new boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, or her ex, Harry Styles.
Let's take a look at some of the arguments for both:
The "younger than my exes" lyric could also reference Styles, who is 23-years-old. Prior to dating him, Swift had been with John Mayer, 39, and Jake Gyllenhaal, 36.
The pop star also references a "ghost," singing, "First time that I saw him / Wonder how many girls he had loved and left haunted / But if he's a ghost then I can be a phantom."
The verse could easily be a response to Style's song "Two Ghosts," which fans believed to be written about Swift thanks to the line, "Same lips red, same eyes blue.
Not to mention, Styles has a history of famous romancesâKendall Jenner, Cara Delevingneâwhich may explain that part about "how many girls he had loved and left haunted."
Finally, as we mentioned before, the chorus references an "island breeze" and in one of the verses she sings, "But if I'm a thief / He can join the heist and / We'll move into an island."
As you may recall, Swift and Styles took a holiday vacation to British Virgin Islands in January 2013. However, rumors of a breakup began spreading after Swift was spotted heading back on a boat in St. John's all by herself.
Could this explain the island reference? You tell us! Sound off on your opinions about "...Ready for It" in the comments below.

Maybe this is a hot take but I donât think this alleged affair is anyoneâs business except the people directly involved. Iâve seen people justify their weird parasocial behaviour by saying theyâre just holding him âaccountableâ. Um⌠thatâs fine if he did something that would directly affect the public or his fans but this is a matter of a personal relationship Iâm struggling to understand how we fit into this narrative and have the so called right to hold him accountable. And whatâs more is that the only confirmation of said affair is unnamed sources speaking to less than reliable tabloids. Are we forgetting that life is complicated and relationships can change? We donât even know what their marriage was life behind closed doors. Like you said, we only see a very small fraction of these peopleâs lives and even that is carefully controlled. We have no clue what these people are even like privately. Iâm not even defending Hugh. Iâll admit I was bummed out initially about this whole thing, and yeah maybe my image of him has changed even if itâs just rumors. But what I donât understand is this sense of entitlement amongst fans. Ive seen fans saying theyâll âforgiveâ him if he breaks up with Sutton or whatever. Why are we acting like we personally know him and he knows us lol? He doesnât need anyones forgiveness nor do we have any right to demand it. Heâs an actor not our personal friend. And donât get me started on the parasocial relationship some have with his ex-wife. Sorry but that relationship is over. Please move on. Reminds me of the Joe Alwyn widows if youâre familiar with the Taylor Swift fandom lol
đđđđ all of this! Itâs a hot take I very much like and agree with.
Exactly!! A grand total of absolutely zero fans are owed anything from him for doing something in his personal life that in no way affects them personally.
I didnât know about him being âforgivenâ if he splits with Sutton. Thatâs both laughable and gross. Imagine having the audacity to think they have any right to dictate terms like that over - louder for the people at the back - SOMETHING THAT IN NO WAY AFFECTS THEM. It also makes me think that - if he can be âforgivenâ so easily - itâs not the (alleged) affair that is the problem but who it was with. If only heâd picked someone they approved ofâŚâŚâŚand the speed with which she was summarily âcancelledâ makes me think that they were just ready and waiting for it to become official so they could officially start hating on her.
(Side note - Regardless of how all of this may have started, when I saw the pics of him and Sutton that man looked happy. Like, capital H happy. Not going to be mad about that đ¤ˇââď¸)
âAre we forgetting that life is complicated and relationships can changeâ - exactly yes! Who someone is now and what they need may not be who they were and wanted they needed 5, 10, 25 years ago. They arenât the first nor will they be the last couple to split up. A long marriage does not always mean a happy one.
The canonisation of Saint Deb by fans is utterly bizarre. And thatâs nothing against her, I donât know her and she seems from the few interviews Iâve seen to be a perfectly pleasant woman but jeezâŚhave we learned nothing about placing people on pedestals over the past few months đ apparently not!

Saw your post about how you think taylors new album will be about Joe and honestly it will just show how out of touch she is with her fans or how little she cares for her exes.
Like does she not know that her fans will put Joe on blast? Is that something that Joe deserves? Idk what happened in their relationship as it's none of my business but unless he was abusive, there is no reason for him to be harassed by swifties for the next month or two.
She's also probably airing out their relationship drama. Which would be okay if it was not attributable to Joe, but it is. Do you think he wants that shit out there for everyone to see?
Like did she ask him if he's okay with their relationship drama being made public?
I 100% understand that what happens irl makes good lyrics and I'm not saying that people can't write about their current or past relationships, however when people can attribute a song to a person, that then becomes an issue as it invades their privacy and gets them harassed.
all of this.
with the way she initially said they split amicably and just grew apart and then spun around and claimed he was emotionally abusive and suffocating, idk how anyone could believe a word she says about him anyway. she knows damn well her fans will harass him and I bet she believes he deserves it just because he wouldnât marry her, and my theory is that he broke up with her unlike the âmutual splitâ announcements. why else would she be so fucking bitter and vindictive? this whole thing is just immature and itâs wild to see someone in their 30âs still acting exactly like they did when they were 19 and doing the same goddamn thing.

one argument swifties make that i absolutely, viscerally despise is âSheâs not a politician so why should she speak out about [x humanitarian issue]â because
she should speak out because sheâs a human being! they call her an âethical billionaireâ but how is she ethical if she hoards most of her wealth while people get senselessly slaughtered?
sheâs a rich person they proclaim is âthe music industryâ and has so much power and money that her endorsement of biden back in 2020 was crucial to him winning the election! now politicians are quite literally begging on their knees for her to endorse them too, including genocide joe!
(and this is the most important one of all) sheâs a self proclaimed activist who profited off being so when it was lucrative for her to be one in 2018-2020, said sheâd loudly fight against these issues, and has since been hush hush about every fucking issue there is including those in her own country. SHE was the one to hold herself to such a standard, it was HER own words and people are holding her accountable for sticking by them! a lot of other celebrities donât get the same amount of criticism (though i think they still should receive criticism) because even if they did some activist work, theyâve never called themselves such nor made a documentary about it thereby never holding themselves to the same âactivistâ standard nor blatantly profiting off that title like she has
it just frustrates me to no end when swifties say this because itâs telling me that they are also as apathetic about the world as taylor is because if they really cared they would want her to actually say something and use her voice instead of constantly defending her
Yeah, but that was back in her Joe era âŚâŚ this is now.
I said this before, but when a couple splits they each take back what they brought to the relationship. Sorry, babe, Joe took all the "activism" and all the "caring about others" with him when he left. đ¤ˇââď¸

If Joe was freeloading, he would have been gone long before 2023. Taylor once commented about certain celebrities(not named, but I suspected Miley and Justin at the time) having an entourage of friends who didnât really have a job. Taylor said she didnât care about how much they made, but to be her friend, you have to have a career. She gave Abi as an example, having a regular job, among others. I really donât know if I could be married to someone like Taylor. She would always outearn me, no matter what I did. She really does not have to work, because her dad gave her advice how to protect her money a long time ago. That is why I donât fault Joe, because I would feel inadequate being with her. The only people who wouldnât feel inadequate are her fellow billionaires, and most of them suck.
Iâm just not sure the money is or ought to be a problem? I feel like at least 70% of couples (idk the exact number lmao) have one partner who earns more than the other. Usually itâs the guy because, well, society - but fwiw I personally know regular people where the woman has the bolder career and more income. I feel like as long as thatâs acknowledged and accounted for and both partners do things (whether thatâs financial or in the case of stay at home partners stuff in the home) and the bigger earner isnât, well, financially abusive (and that doesnât mean they pay for all your personal shit except again where one partner is a stay at home and then the income earner really should pay for shit including self-care/travel/etc) itâs really not a problem? Idk man I think as you get older, itâs pretty hard to find a setup where everything is fair for a 50/50 split unless youâre either a power couple or both really struggling. I feel like everyone I know that Iâve actually spoken to about this doesnât split it that way because itâs not really sustainable - if you earn less than your partner then itâs not super fair for you to have to have less savings or less personal stuff in order for you to contribute across an even split for shared expenses. Youâre then getting fucked over. Alternatively, and this I guess can work if the higher earner is very frugal/prefers a simpler life, you need to live according to the lower earnerâs budget.
My partner and Iâve talked about this - as in money - a lot and I think navigate it quite well. His point has repeatedly been that he doesnât want to live on my budget because he really doesnât have to. He also very much doesnât want to pay for my personal things that have fuck all to do with him except like as a gift right and then he obviously doesnât want to have to gift me yk personal items or whatever every week/month. But when it comes to, for example, basic things like utilities, he hates thinking about shit like turning off the lights or geysers or not running the A/C all day and like for us to go 50/50 Iâd want to think about that? - so heâs happy to just pay it in full. For big ticket items also like heâd rather pay for a flight for me to where he wants to go on holiday than go to where and when I can afford to go on holiday. We have friends who fight about money stuff and this is usually his advice like obviously donât pay for personal crap if the person has a job because they should structure their lives better and should be able to afford the things they *need* (or really want for personal use) but also like⌠take responsibility for the things they canât afford that *you* chose to do with them. Like we have friends where he owns the apartment they live in but itâs heavily bonded and she pays more than half of that bond because he paid the deposit but my partnerâs point is that thatâs fair enough if thatâs what they both want, but if Gd forbid he dies or if they break up then in the former case she should get the apartment and in the latter case she should be paid out. The friend doesnât think this and calls it her ârentâ and says sheâd pay the same money monthly if she lived alone which like⌠may well be right actually but she doesnât and thatâs in our opinion a little financially abusive lol because itâs one of those one bedroom Brooklyn style loft things right (beautiful apartment fwiw) and like he wouldnât be able to get a roommate/tenant so no itâs not her ârentâ lol itâs her contribution to his financial well-being because theyâre in a relationship. So idk man navigate shit in a way thatâs fair and acceptable to you and realize that you obviously wonât only ever date people who will have an even split with you regarding income and ergo you canât expect an even split on expenses. Thatâs for NORMAL PEOPLE right but it also applies to Taylor, who will never date someone with an even split in income.
Obviously Taylor canât and doesnât expect her guys to pay for yk her life that sheâs structured in the ways she has (her houses, staff, aestheticians, cars, etc) but that also doesnât mean that they should pay for absolutely nothing seeing as they all have jobs lol idk. And thatâs I think what happens and thatâs fine? And yes they all get to benefit from being with her financially (in terms of possibly reduced expenses but also in terms of just cool shit like nice houses and planes and stuff) because thatâs just how relationships work?

There is such a strange obession with always having to humble Michael Jackson.
He fits like the extrem case of a Tall Poppy Sydrome.
1# His brothers (Jermaine) how they say he wouldn't be Michael Jackson without the Jackson 5. Kind of dismissing his talent and wanting them to be a part of his success.
2# People who claim Joe beat talent into Michael. And is success is thanks to his abuse. If that was the case. What went wrong with the others then?
3# The constant comparsions with todays artists. Who not only benefit from the streaming era but are also way below him talent wise or impact wise. Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Drake, Chris Brown... Them naming new King of Pops like Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles. The comparsions can be looked as a compliment that he is looked as the standard or as an insult because they try to dismiss him and put him om the same level as these artists not respecting he is a league on his own..
#4 These stupid lists billboard or rollingstone put out ranking him ridiculously low. Like tf you mean Michael number #86 on the best singers list. Or the 20 best Halloween songs doesn't involve Thriller eventhough it's the most recognizable one.
#5 Claiming Eagles Greatest Hits was the best selling album of all time back in 2018. Eventhough it was only in the US. ( allegedly) But of course these trash tabloids had to make it look like it was the world.
#6 The stupid allegations. If they put any effort into reading would know are bs. When their smear campaign failed they just made it look like "separating art from the artist" bs.
#7 Them reporting other artist broke his record. Eventhough it isn't comparable. You can't compare Drakes shitty number ones who are mostly features in it or he features in them to Michaels number ones where he is mostly on his own and also wrote most of it. The songwriting is also something they can't believe and try to dismiss aswell. Also Drake has the benefit of the streaming era. Michael didn't. Aint nobody buying a bus tickets to drive 15 minutes downtown and purchase an album of Drake.
Their pathetic attemps really knows to bound. They would literally choke if they just admit he is the greatest.
The one about his father's abuse being the thing that "made him what he was", as well as the unfair slander against MJ for accusations that were so ridiculously they were laughed out of court are, by far, the ones that piss me off the most.
Joseph abusing his son was not the reason why Michael was the greatests, it was one of the many reasons why we lost him so soon. I'm always EXTREMELY suspicious when people try to push that kind of narrative of "abuse is not that bad and has positive consequences if you're not a crybaby", especially when it's someone in a position of power, because it just screams "I want to get away with exploiting people AND I want to be praised for it."
The lies of "Michael was a pedophile" are just the kind of stuff that breaks my heart and makes me furious. And I gotta laugh when the same people that tried to destroy MJ because of stuff they KNEW was bullshit now pretend it never happened or, like you said, use the "separate art from the artist" argument. It just proves that Michael had earned so much respect from both the public and the few decent people in the industry, AND was so fucking talented, that those idiots were eventually forced to realize that they would have made much more money celebrating him than they ever made by tearing him down
And we all know THAT is why they did it, the good old business model of "Give the public a great icon, then tear said icon to pieces in front of them." The people that are still on the hate/devalue MJ train are split between people that are too proud to admit they fucked up, and the people that built their entire lives around telling the public which popular thing is actually not that good (be it in a "I'm too good for stuff that the masses like" way or in a cancel culture type of way).
Plus, we all know Michael was not afraid to openly trash the media and even his own record label when they pissed him off enough, and you just know some rich assholes that are not used to people talking shit about them and getting away with it and still hold a grudge for it.
As for the comparisons with modern idols - it's not just things like streaming that make said comparisons not just unfair, but downright nonsensical.
The very fact that people will go "Oh, this person is the new Michael Jackson/King Of Pop" is already a contradiction. The reason Michael has the status he has is because there WASN'T a "king of pop" before him. He had people who influenced him and there were artists that were HUGE, sure, but there was no one that fit the role of "The MJ before MJ" so to speak. The closest "match" I can think of is Beatle Mania, and even then, that was a group. Even when people talk about the "most important/famous" Beatles, it's always Lennon AND McCartney.
Michael Jackson's fame as a solo artist was on the level of "People legitimately did not fucking know someone could be this famous" and to this day nobody has done it again - which is a big deal since, like you pointed out, it is a lot easier to have acess to an artist's work now.
And yet everytime one of today's artists is called "The new king/queen of pop" in some internet article it just never catches on... yet the title of said articles DON'T have to add a "(Michal Jackson)" after saying the words "King of Pop" because if you know these three little words, you know the ONE person they refer to.
Another important factor here is that all of these "new coronations" so to speak happen literally every year - to more than one artist. We are TOLD "this random music critic saying this about this artist is a big deal" but it doesn't match what we're SHOWN because, again, to reach Michael's level of fame, one would need to be literally "The only artist that matters, everyone elsa can just fight for the title of second best." If everyone is "the new MJ" then no one is, not really. At most they're just "Super popular artist" and there's nothing wrong with that.
Things like the internet and streaming have also made the term "fifteen minutes of fame" much more literal than it ever was. So sure, you easily find people that went viral - but how many of them had any real, lasting sucess? How many times did an artist do something cool that pushed to everyone all over the globe, and then just a month later they were a has-been?
And even the well-stablish artists of today, even though who started really young, don't have the same kind of long career Michael had because most artist don't start singing at the age of five, spend their entire childhood and adolescence gaining more and more fans, and then spend their adulthood as the biggest thing ever because they put out the first AND second best selling albums of all time. Michael had already been performing, and been absurdly famous, for nearly two decades when he finally released Thriller - which just got a 40th anniversary edition because even after four decades since it's debut, and 14 years since Michael letf us, he is STILL such a powerhouse that the world just had to celebrate his music once again.
Comparing that to artists that have only had one or two decades in the industry is ridiculous because of course they're gonna lose, just like their modern songs are obviously going to be front and center instead of the ones made decades ago, from an artist that is deceased and whose sales did not benefit from streaming, or even CDs, for a long time. And once again, the fact that Michael STILL has a presence on Spotify, Youtube, TikTok and literally very platform ever speaks volumes of just how solid his legacy is. Meanwhile all these singers he's being compared to are still making stuff that will one day become their legacy. It's comparing apples to oranges.
And since I mentioned the (ungodly evil thing) that is TikTok, that brings me to yet another major difference between MJ fame and modern fame: how artificial it all has become. Don't get me wrong, musical trends and popular "formulas" to make a hit have always existed, but things today are often SO calculated to have "viral qualities" (a part the is guaranteed to become popular on TikTok, never going over a specific length, everything needing either a sped up version or a slow reverb version, etc) that they might as well have been made by algorythm.
Meanwhile, Michael became the biggest singer ever because the priority when making anything was to make sure it was GOOD, no matter the style, length or topic of the song. Michael often said his approach when making records was to have no songs you can skip - compare that to artists and labels trying to make 20 seconds of a song catchy to blow up on TikTok, rest of the thing be damned, and you have yet another reason why MJ's legacy is solid, while plenty of promising new artists disappear overnight.
And, finally, we that brings us to the final difference between Michael and plenty of artists today: how he COMPLETELY altered the industry, in every way.
Michael Jackson is the reason why Superbowl performances are a thing, why music videos have all kinds of cool aesthetics and even enough plot to be considered short films instead just being an artist dancing to their own tunes on camera. He was the first black artist to ever have his music videos air on MTV. Fans passing out during his concerts was a regular thing. Plenty of artists all over the globe have him as a reference to how they should sing, dance, dress, or even just stand on stage because Michael had such presence he could stand on stage without moving for an entire minute then slowly, dramatically remove his sunglasses, and people would still be screaming their heads off.
Once again, let's look at Beatle Mania: it was a level of fame nobody had seen before, for artists that were breaking all the rules. But nowadays a group of young men playing love songs and having seemingly every teenage girl in the country following them around is nothing out of the ordinary, and while their songs are still fantastic, plenty of bands over the decades have done awesome things with rock music that are just as revolutionary, if not more.
Meanwhile, Michael is still THE reference, and his music is still the definition of "quality." If you hear his biggest hits, you can totally tell which bits modern singers were inspired by - yet if you didn't know who he was, you could wrongfully assume some of these songs are modern because they were SO ahead of their time they still sound groundbreaking today.
Seriously, there's a reason NONE of these artists that was ever compared to Michael tried to actually claim his title: saying you're as good as him is one hell of a bold claim that gives people a ton of impossibly hugh standards that you better meet, without flaw and making it look effortless, otherwise you look like the most arrogant person who has ever lived - and nobody wants to deal with that kind of pressure.

Do you think it's possible that when the Joe split happened, Karlie and Taylor decided to take a break too while the Eras Tour is on and this is why Taylor started bearding like this again? I know she went there on 8/9 but maybe Karlie did that cause it was just a promise she did to Taylor while still being on a break. The Tour would occupy most of Taylor's time 2023-2025 so maybe they decided to take a breather. In the meantime Taylor is set on reaching every career goal & take as much money as possible from both MAGA idiots and democrats. Maybe she decided to put her morals aside while the Tour is on because now it's all about the brand & money, to not really stand up for anything, to make her gay fans be scared to analyze her art that way with articles like the CNN one & when the Tour is over she'll go back to Karlie, having driven the point home even more that she's the "straightes woman alive" and have an even better cover.
I personally donât believe they are broken upâshe sings of long term forever end game love, a secret love she will keep forever, of someone she would die for, ruin herself for, of someone that only wants her for herâIMO that is the experience of mature couples vs breaking up 15 times

Anonymous asked:
your anon asking about why she would look like a weak woman made me think.
In my opinion, Joe leaving (probably earlier than planned) screwed things up. He was supposed to âjoin her on tour when he couldâ, remember? There were articles about that even up to the week/days before the opening showâŚ.but on opening night, guess who wasnât there? Guess who wasnât there the next show either? Or the next?
Much like with reputation, when Tom split and Kimye happened, causing her to disappear, she needed a narrative to cover the songs on the album. Because she wasnât being seen publicly, she didnât have a way to plant the seeds of plausible deniability. Think Jake and the scarf. Or Harry and the airplane necklace. Katy Perry and Bad Blood.
So what did she use? The concept of mystique and secrecy in the form of an unknown actor who she magically got photographed with on a balcony in Nashville with. Ask yourselfâhave you ever seen pap photos of Taylor at her house in Nashville?
If you really listen to Midnights, or well at least when I listen to it, none of the songs make the album a breakup album about Joe. She told us they were different stories from over the course of her life. She even tried to say Lavender Haze was about them, didnât she?
And what did she do when they âbroke upâ? Deleted the video even though when we all heard the song, it was clear the message was completely different than what she implied.
Long story shortâlook at the timeline. You go from a âboyfriendâ of 6 years to having a new âboyfriendâ weeks later and months later, another new âboyfriendâ? Not shaming here, but putting it out on paper.
Sheâs trying to cover her tracks in the name of plausible deniability. It feels like sheâs scrambling for someone to attach future songs to. People arenât going to want to hear songs about the number singer because of the backlash she got from that. They donât like the actor now because they decided he cheated. But people will want to hear songs about âHey Arnoldâ (aka football head) because they currently think he can do no wrong though his actions have shown otherwise recently. Theyâll love him until he affects her directly.
Plus, is this not the same woman who said she doesnât tell who her songs are aboutâŚyet she made it a point to say on the record in LPSS who the person behind the pseudonym William Bowery is? Even though most people know otherwise? That just sticks out to me.
None of what Iâve said excuses her recent stunts or anything, I know; but thatâs just what I get from observing the past few eras (reputation, folklore, evermore, midnights) specifically. Not saying the number singer or Hey Arnold have anything to do with those.

This Reddit thread is really eye opening. I am a couple of years older than Taylor and have a 9 year old daughter and I just canât imagine behaving like her parents did with an adolescent kid. No matter the wealth and access you have. Nowadays you have to be so conscious of social media and YouTube and every kid wanting to be a star, I canât imagine Taylor growing up in todayâs world. Itâs really sad. I wish her parents protected her more. I get the desire to want to support your kidsâ dreams but at what cost?
With all of that said, she is a grown adult now and needs to recognize the truth. Donât manipulate a situation to attack someone with your army of a fan base. Growing up alongside Taylor Iâll be honest she annoyed me and I didnât listen to her music lol thought she just sounded immature. My daughter listens to her old stuff now and I still struggle with the cringe. But I finally gave reputation a chance a few months after itâs release then liked Lover and folklore/evermore I was like ok here is the adult Taylor finally using her craft to showcase her skill. I became a big fan and drank the pink, white feminist Kool-aid. Flash forward to now and I was already losing interest with her antics since the split from Joe. (Side note Iâve always like Joe and followed his work from the beginning, heâs worked with some really talented people and I canât wait to see his talent shine more.) But the more I hear from older swifties talking about what happened in the beginning of her career I am so turned off. I really wonder what mindfuck her parents put her through, particularly her dad. While I can have empathy for that, the lack of accountability Taylor takes with any situation is so disheartening. I have seen narcissism brought up with her name countless times. The irony of Swifties not seeing the parallels to MAGA.
I donât know whatâs going to happen in the future but I think peopleâs eyes are opening up. One of my friends posted a quote from her Time article and I commented saying how disruptive it was to actual feminism. She did not like that but I think theyâre important convos to have. Thank you for providing a space for us all to vent - there are clearly a lot of us.
this is why i say she has been exploited since early childhood. her parents were huge music fans and they wanted their daughter to become a music sensation too. it's weird how well documented her life is since her birth, which helps them earn money even now. makes you raise some eyebrows for real.

Oh, and to add to that, he absolutely did the right thing taking that job with Claire. The chance to work with her on what was supposed to be her last movie - no brainer. I liked the movie as well - itâs very Joe. But the timing sucked. Coming right off filming CWF for 6 months, Taylorâs album release still, personal things going on, relationship crumbling - but for someone who admits he has work anxiety, he needed to take that job. But I can absolutely understand why Taylor had the feelings she did on YLM because of it.
yeah lol the timing was really bad, that coupled with him losing jobs due to the pandemic itâs totally understandable why he took it.
and taylorâs feelings about that are valid i just wish she wouldnât throw it back in his face now that theyâve split. especially since sheâs so happy now, so her and tkâs publicists keep telling us.

Reputation has 2 parts
With the release of Reputation Taylor provided a Parody Tabloid which included a prolog letter:
"When this album comes out, gossip blogs will scour the lyrics for the men they can attribute to each song, as if the inspiration for music is as simple and basic as a paternity test,"Â
See also: Reputation timeline
Reputation Magazines has 2 volumes
Reputation was released with two variants of TS Parody Tabloids, with different backcovers. Taylor discussed the album having two sides in her Lover interview with Zane Lowe (at 4:30 in). There she said one half was weaponized and the other was the real story about love and friendship.
One refers to this awful real piece of journalism about Haylor and this one. The paternity test in the letter, 'who is Olivia's real father' and references to pregnancy rumours in tabloids are interesting. It's possible Bigger than the Whole Sky was from the Rep vault. :( which sadly tracks with disappearing for a year and the more serious things covered in Miss Americana.
There are you tube videos that go through every page of them both magazine.
They had the lyrics for different songs, which was a hint that the album covered more than one phase, ta(y)ble of contents didn't follow the track listing:
Vol 1 "Who is Olivia's real father?"
Harry Styles is Olivia's real father, and most of this first part relates to Haylor and the events in the first half of 2016 before she disappeared.
Gorgeous is the most obvious clue of this split, it is track 8 so if that was the order it would be in Vol 2, but it's in the Vol 1 Magazine because it is part of the April 29 story. LAWYMMD is in both, it's the point of change and retreating.
Based on her hair in the Making of Reputation clips you can see her hair in these songs was before she bleached it. Most of these songs were all recorded before she met Joe or Tom H at the Met.
Ready for it
End Game
I did something bad
Gorgeous
Don't blame me
Delicate
So it goes, and
Look at what you made me do
Vol 2: Why she disappeared
The second half is about Taylor retreating and healing after she disappeared. The songs about Joe are here, though not all relate to Joe. Miss Americana continues from this volume, and was filmed during the Rep Tour.
This is why we can't have nice things
Look at what you made me do
Getaway Car
King of my Heart
Dress
Dancing with our hands tied
Call it what you want, and
New Years Day
The volumes also had different paintings and an 'is this the end of all the endings poster' The paintings were the same, but they each had a lyrics and different poems:
Vol 1 - who is meredith's real father, has these New Years Day lyrics.
Don't read the last page
... but I stay. and,
Why she disappeared Poem
New Years Day is in the Vol 2 book because it is about being settled, but it was possibly cut from 1989.
Vol 2 - why she disappeared, has lyrics from Call it what you want which was in Vol 2.
All the liars are calling me one, nobody's heard from me for months..
I'm doing better than I ever was. and,
If your anything like me Poem
