If it helps other fanfic writers: I keep an index on my google drive of all the different pieces I have written, am writing, and hope to write. It does make it easier to keep on eye on the different WIPs I have at any given time

I always want to assume good intentions because my worst social moments come from my best intentions. Sometimes it takes me embarrassingly long to answer messages because one, I’m time blind as a bat, and two, it is simply one of the hardest things to make my brain do. I might say I’m gonna do something and then forget to do it. Sometimes my tone is clipped even though I’m actually trying really hard to make it chipper. I make accidental eye contact at awkward times and I know it looks and feels like I’m judging you. But if I’m in a headspace where I made accidental eye contact and look judgmental, I probably don’t have good brain for fixing it with words atm. I used to try and it absolutely made things worse. It makes sense to me to assume most people are trying.

Are some people being mean on purpose? Sure. But I’d rather misjudge them than misjudge someone trying to be nice. If you ignore my texts purposely to let me know that I’m annoying you, sorry, I’m gonna keep giving you the benefit of the doubt and keep annoying you. If you want to be mean you’re going to have to do it directly. Your pride and mine aren’t worth the risk that you’re actually a dearheart who ignores texts accidentally because life is overwhelming. Or gives me dirty looks accidentally because you were thinking about something else and making Correct Faces is hard.

If you want to be nice and sometimes you end up coming across withdrawn, flaky, talk too much, or whatever whatever whatever, I love you I love you I love you I love I love you I love you. Thank you for still trying to be nice to me. Social norms can be excruciatingly difficult, life is a lot to deal with, and you’re wonderful.
