Welcome to the Hotel Mouseafornia!

The Wild Kratts team run into Zach and Violet while out on the creature trail one day. The team was simply observing some animals for the newest creature power disks when they hear Zach screaming. They look up to see Zach running toward them, Violet following closely behind him. She’s calling out after him, begging him to stop running.

Martin: “Zach, Violet? What’s going on?”

Zach *hiding behind Martin and Chris*: “Don’t let them eat me! I know my head is shaped like a triangle, and it might look like a block of cheese, but pleeeeeaseeee don’t let them eat me!”

Chris: “Eat you? What’s going to eat you?”

Aviva: “And why are you talking about cheese? Violet? Can you tell us what’s going on?”

Violet: “Well… we’ve been having a problem with mice getting into the jet…”

Zach *whining and crying*: “They are everywhere! I can’t even walk around without one of them trying to run up my pant leg! I’ve had to start stuffing my pants into my socks 😭.”

Violet: “They have not tried to run up your pant leg, your pants are too tight for them to get anywhere. Besides…you only think that because I told you about my great grandfather and the mouse in his boots.”

Jimmy Z: “What happened with your great grandfather?”

Violet: “Sooooo, a mouse was in his boot, and when he put on the boots, it ran up his pant leg….my 6-year-old father watched his grandpa cru…”

Koki *visibly disgusted*: “We get the picture…”

Zach: “See, she’s traumatized me!”

Violet: “That’s not nearly as traumatizing as watching the mice skip over the natural repellent packets we bought, then watching them drag the packets over to use as the mattress of their nests!”

*Everyone looking at them in shock and amusement.*

Aviva *laughing*: “Bros! It looks like we’re gonna be making some mice creature power disks…”

Martin and Chris *excited*: “Alright!”

Zach *coming out from behind the bros to stand beside Violet*: “You’re really gonna help us?”

The Wild Kratts Team: “uhhhh, Yes?”

Zach *slumping against Violet and holding on to her for support*: “Oh thank you!”

Violet *rubbing his back soothingly*: “Yes, thank you.”

Based heavily on the battle with mice my father and I have been having in my car…

masterpost of pbs kids shows i like that are on the current air, in no order

imo these are the cream of the crop and very good for learning, even if you are not a child. There's lessons and shit for everyone

City Island is from a shootoff of the company that made Ugly Americans & Superjail, amons other familiar adult cartoons, btw

its about teaching civic values afaik

this show pisses me off alot but that's never a reason for it to be bad as a show. really i do enjoy the energy of it

probably the show on right now with the most pizzazz, lots of well-done effects and extremely enjoyable for children and adults alike which i think might be the purpose. Just really fun and silly, almost like men in black cartoon. I wonder if they get the most money for their show

fuck yes. animal powers. learning about animals. real world side by side with the Brothers Kratt, who are the main guys in the show. IDK. I may piss people off by saying this, but i dont have an ounce of respect for furries because i have yet to meet anyone coming at it from any angle which doesnt boil down to " This is about me and for me" whereas Wild Kratts is family working together on their love and admiration of the natural world together, playing and embracing being fun or silly, but like with a giving back teaching element. Basically the mosdt goated show on PBS kids rn I think. Everybody take lessons from them pls on how to keep you sexual appetite seperate from other things when it comes to being a furry adult. (lol furry adult) I have a feeling some of you will get the gist of what im saying here

general thoughts on the wk “our blue and green world” special (for funsies)

they had me in the beginning, by the end they completely lost me tho lolol

!! SPOILER WARNING FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN’T SEEN THE EPISODE YET !!

things i liked:

the intro was!! very good!! loved how they started in space and then gradually zoomed into earth, that was really fun :D

always excited to see how the background of the final shot changes in these specials !!

right away i am so glad they finally color corrected everything i couldn’t stand how bright everything was in season 6 T_T

chris being able to just effortlessly fold his t-shirts into a stack made me laugh lol

i don’t care if anyone says the song sounded flat as hell. the disbelief i had when it first came on. “what is this music what is goin- IS THIS A SONG??” the pure, unadulterated joy i experienced from it. it may be cringe but it has set me free.

idk. i’m just glad to see all these characters back after the hiatus :D

the resplendent quetzal is!! so cool!! so pretty!! i’d love an episode just dedicated to it

saw someone say this already but common aviva W for inventing two creature power discs at once !! it’s her world we are simply all living in it

i think ever since i’ve gotten past the age of. elementary school. martin’s nicknames for animals have been kind of hit-or-miss for me? (though it might just depend on who’s writing the script i dunno) but i liked kablooey!! (kabluey?) it’s a very cute name :D

zach remembered that he has hacker bots he can use (which are. arguably his best invention?? i’m pretty sure?? i get why they don’t use them every single time zach shows up bc that would get old quickly but it establishes that despite being a whiny man-child who couldn’t tell a walrus from a wombat or a wallaby, he can still be a threat to the wk team)

and everyone’s been talking about that so um. let me throw my hat into the ring then.

i can see the intention behind trying to redeem paisley, but it just. doesn’t really match with what’s been established by her character?

the entire special hit me with subsequent punches of “wow this is a kid’s show and i am NOT the target demographic” when they were talking about the water cycle and explaining global warming. so it makes sense, in a sort of wish-fulfillment kind of way that they’d try and redeem the villain whose goal is arguably the most realistic out of the main four.

zach’s main gimmick is using wild animals for his own technology. donita uses wild animals for fashion. gourmand cooks and eats wild animals. yes, the latter two can and do happen in real life (not… really sure about zach’s but that’s not the point). but paisley’s gimmick was never about harming animals, but destroying the environment they live in, in order to build things for humans instead. she’s the kind of person who you’d most likely encounter in real life. redeeming paisley has nothing to do with her character (a businesswoman who finds nature “yucky” as seen in the spirit bear and Asian elephant episodes), instead her general gimmick. wouldn’t it be nice if we could get the people destroying animals’ homes to truly see how beautiful nature can be? so much so that they stop trying to destroy it and instead attempt to help preserve it?

(this is just a personal nitpick but paisley’s new design absolutely is NOT working for me srry)

after i watched the special i had some ideas abt how it potentially could have gone instead?:

don’t redeem paisley at all: again, i get the general idea of why they did this but also. it doesn’t?? line up with her character at all?? the way she was acting in the beginning was fine and perfectly in character for her. she just wants nature out of the way in order to complete her plans, and she has no time for zach being overly concerned with the wild kratts. you could argue that her knowing that dolphins and whales weren’t fish but mammals was foreshadowing to her redemption, but like… paisley’s not dumb?? donita has also corrected zach on not knowing his animals in the past so unless you’re also going to argue for a possible donita redemption in the future then. yeah. i dunno. the other villains didn’t need a redemption to make the special they were in interesting, i don’t see how this one should be any different.

another redemption fake-out, but do it much earlier in the story: i have. my own gripes about how the plot of this special went but we’ll save that for later. have paisley initially be dismissive of the wild kratts’s presence, but once she learns that the kratt brothers are arguing and that aviva, koki, and jimmy are spending all of their time trying to get them to make up, pounce on that opportunity. have her go all over-the-top (like she did in her canon redemption) and trick the wild kratts into thinking she’s turned good, only for her to turn on them in the second half. this might be too similar to “a creature christmas” though. this one would take up more of the plot if that’s any consolation?

give a hint to a paisley redemption arc, but don’t make her do a complete 180 right away: if they’re adamant on redeeming paisley (again, i see the general idea behind this gimmick-wise), then they could still do it and make it fit with her character. remember that paisley’s intentions are not to harm animals, but their environment (which is not any better, making that clear). she can still have her awed-by-coral moment, but maybe. tone it down?? she can have second thoughts about going with the plan, but have zach or rex* encourage her to continue. she steels her resolve, but remembers the coral, and hesitates. and the kratt brothers use that last-minute hesitation to defeat zach’s zachbots and paisley’s pavers. have paisley question why she couldn’t go through with it as she and zach leave madagascar. you could have aviva or one of the other wild kratts theorize that paisley has started to have a change of heart after seeing what nature is capable of, if left to thrive. but again: don’t redeem her right away. hint at it, and then explore it whenever she appears as the main antagonist in an episode of season 7.

*i’m admittedly not caught up on all of wk, but like. did paisley fire rex or something. WHERE WAS HE THIS ENTIRE SPECIAL??

as for the plot point of the kratt brothers fighting… yeah that definitely could have gone better.

(again, minor nitpick but jimmy saying that this was the first time he’s seen the brothers fight,, then implied that it happened every single laundry day,, but also he’s definitely seen them fight before? or had disagreements at least?? isn’t that the premise of at least two different episodes not counting this special. this script is also Not My Favorite. not sure how to explain it but some of the dialogue seems a little awkward?)

ik that the brothers get into danger 24/7 but i feel like. martin should be a little bit concerned that chris was getting squeezed to death by a green anaconda?? like you don’t have to make him overtly worried to the point of apologizing, but you could at least. make him look at chris with concern? i get that the point is that “oh no the brothers are fighting so they won’t help each other when one’s in danger” but. martin your brother is dying STOP SMILING NONCHALANTLY.

the resolution between the brothers was. kind of rushed? all it took was chris complimenting martin (“nice one, bro!”) and then activating some creature powers and then everything was fine. is. is that all it took?

if you liked it then that’s 100% fine !! i’m glad you enjoyed it :D it just wasn’t for me

just my personal preference but i think i would have preferred it if we spent more time with the brothers solo (martin at sea and chris in the rainforest) and have them come to their realizations that the planet needs both blues and greens to thrive separately. like martin sees the planktonic soup and acknowledges that the creatures who live in the ocean need a little green to survive. or chris sees how important rivers are in the amazon and remembers how the rivers will eventually flow into the ocean. and both of the brothers remember their adventures with each other (or aviva, koki, and jimmy remind them). they can still be stubborn and not forgive each other, but i’d like them to at least like. acknowledge each other’s pov and respect it.

or: do something with aviva trying to program two creature power suits at once (the brothers are both in madagascar at this point). like, what if there was a creature power suit malfunction where martin is a blue whale at first, but then turns into an indri. and chris starts our as an indri but then his suit malfunctions and he becomes a blue whale. the bros swap places, with martin going on land and chris going to sea, and then they realize that the other had a point - the land is home to so many wonderful creatures and so are the oceans. and how both are connected and make the earth their home. boom, reconciliation.

also another personal preference thing, i really wish they spent more time with kablooey/kabluey and mambiky (?). i’m here for cool creatures and i wanna see more of the cool creatures !! is that so much to ask for !!

also also. i think the indri-conda was born bc someone saw the pun potential and to that i say. no comment.

i still have. a lot of thoughts but i think i’ll just leave it there for now. ik i criticized it a lot but i did genuinely enjoy the special :D i’m happy to have the brothers back from hiatus and can’t wait to watch the other episodes !!

Okay, here’s the big one: What if the Kratts Brothers are the substitute teachers of Ms. Frizzle’s class? What kind of craziness would happen (bonus points if this is the Wild Kratts version of the Kratt brothers)

Ok, here's my thoughts:

Class is outdoors (after all, what better place to learn about nature than IN nature?)

Animal puns galore, thanks to both Carlos and Martin.

They either go explore the woodlands/mountains just outside Walkerville or they go to a whole 'nother continent. They are back in time for dinner.

Phoebe befriends quite a few animals.

Absolute chaos.

Arnold: "FINALLY, no field trips!"

2 minutes later, Arnold finds out he could not be more wrong.

Said "field trip" involves the creature power suits, the Miniaturizer, and quite possibly the Buzz Bikes or other vehicles.

It's been a while since I've watched this show, so I'm not sure what else happens.

Wild Kratts Fantasy (2)

Part 2/3

I'll make the amulets powers, side effects, guardian, and weapons! That way you guys wouldn't have to figure out what it is and who gets what!

(BTW! I'm also using some pictures on Google since I can't draw and Gacha isn't helping, so I have to be creative... Sorry guys! If you want, you can design some of these if you want! Just credit me!)

Forest Green Amulet

This amulet is the most powerful amulet, that seems interesting. This has the power to heal or stop the pain, and it can also be associated with nature (like trees, plants, the forest, etc.), and it can also have the ability by shape shifting and camouflaging. But for some reason, it has the ability to make rock come out the ground (like Cassandra's powers in the Tangled show, only green), except that it'll grow more and more, and it'll get attached to you and grow on you when you touch it, unless you're the holder.

The side effect is that this one, maybe, VERY powerful, it's also VERY deadly to the holder. The amulet will kill you from the inside, which is like this: Stage 1, tiredness, at first it means nothing, but you would feel exhausted. Stage 2, having chest and stomach pain, it'll hurt like hell like you have something solid in your body. Stage 3, coughing up blood, this one is scary, since it'll be confusing and scaring the holder on how that is possible. Stage 4, weakness and losing control of your body, this one will make you look like you're ill and dying, while losing control on the fact your losing yourself, and even after taking off your amulet, it'll still be there. Stage 5, death, obviously... But not only that, during the wearing, you will also hear voices in your head, and have a personality change as well.

This amulet was held by the very first king, Nico Lee Melton III, who used it to spite his twin sister, but something happened when she used it as it wasn't supposed to have stone like abilities or make you look sickly, with the amulet being somehow corrupted with something???

The weapon this amulet has a bow and arrow that is named Skade's Fury Bow, with the arrow used to kill the target by having the decaying stone killing them in a week, even after removing the arrow.

Ocean Blue Amulet

This amulet is in a tie as being the most powerful amulet, even if it's water based. This one is associated with water (ocean, ice, snow, etc.), it also has omniscience, infinite knowledge, and extremely hax ability, but this amulet is connected to their guardian, which is siren based powers, like having their supersonic screech, breath under water, and shape shifting into a human or a mermaid. They also have to use their hypnotic voice to lure the prey or use them for something.

The side effect is that, during the wearing, the holder would get hungry for human blood, but they can use animal blood, too, to survive the day, but if they can't actually get anyone before 9 days, they'll began to look sickly, get more hungry, lose control of their body, and die. They also can transform the holder into a siren, which hurts since it changes their ears, eyes, and they have to grow wings.

The holder of it was Nora Rose Melton, the princess to the king twin brother, Nico, but she found it while almost swimming into the sea, and used it to stop her brother, with the guardian, the siren.

The weapon of choice is a spear called the Spear Of The Sea, which can help out the holder to control the water/ice, and can kill them by making them drown or stabbing them. This weapon was found by the very first holder, who took it and drown along side the amulet and spear, which made the amulet form a forcefield for under water and obtain the spear.

Alaigra Amethyst Amulet

This one is the fifth powerful amulet holder, with their abilities to control weather (tornadoes, thunder/lightning storms, floods, etc.) and have the ability to control the shadows, either by turning into one to blend in or by using people's shadows to attack or join their army.

The side effect is that it cannot go into darkness, if any shadows or their shadows go into the darkness, it'll practically die in there and won't come out. The weather has to work only once a day, meaning once you use it, you gotta wait for a day to use it again.

The holder of it was a famous singer, Cassandra Thompson, who was loved by all, even when she used her power for bad intentions, and most of those people began to form a cult for her as well, even her guardian, which is a spider, who can trap their victims, which their shadows goes to the holder and the spider can either eat them or leave them for the other holders.

The weapon the holder uses is the whip as it is called Luna Shadow Whip, to use to tie up people and suck the soul out of them to use their shadows. The weapon was on stage as it was close to the amulet as the shadow began to affect the whip and become one with the amulet.

━ goes on to say that he'll keep you warm inside a comfy and spacious glass container with plenty of soil! a nice bedding with enough moisture—all that jazz! all things considered, that's pretty sweet of him... until he jokes about keeping you around for composting, feeding you banana and melon scraps, which now that you think about it, is starting to sound like a nightmare if that's mostly all of what you're gonna do.

━ for as much as you insist on changing the subject, martin takes that as his cue to tell you about the many amazing creature powers of the worm and how there's no shame in being one! trust him, he's seen how they are first-hand!

Chris Kratt

"a worm?" he laughs. "why would you be a worm?"

━ skeptical, but plays along. though, he does puts a little too much thought into it. like obviously he loves you, so there's no change in his feelings if you were to suddenly turn all wormy, but the actual aspect of you being a worm does make the gears in his head turn.

━ realistically speaking, he would want for you to be happy, and maybe traveling around the world in a container wouldn't be the happiest way for a worm to live. so? he wholeheartedly tells you that he'll put you in a secure habitat with your own little worm friends. living free and in the wild!

— so caught up in the euphoria of him wanting what's best for you that for like a minute you lived in a world where he didn't just say he'd let you go.

Aviva Corcovado

hums, "are we talking hypothetically or...?"

━ immediately thinks about how you'd look as a worm and gets a huge kick out of it. she apologizes, but she just can't help it! the imagery is a wild one for sure.

━ would honestly prefer you to be kept as a human. what if she were to accidentally knock you over or step on you? what if she lost you? what if you were to fall out the tortuga when up in the air?! nonno, being a worm is simply not an option!

━ confidently assures you that she'd do whatever it takes to revert you back to your human state, biology be damned! and not a sliver of doubt. if anyone could figure it out, you know it's her.

Koki

".... yeah... of course...?"

━ you know damn well she's lying.

━ she mulled over it a bit, that's clear, but the instant grimace that came after was enough to make you cackle. she knows you saw it, so it takes everything in her to smile the most natural looking grin she could muster. knowing her, she's terrible at masking her honest feelings.

━ comes clean and admits that she loves you a lot, but having a lover as a worm would gross her out. i mean, how would she kiss you? you'll be all slimy!! point out how she literally imagined kissing a worm and she'll just gag as she tries to run away from you. no way is she doing this today!

Jimmy Z

"if you were a what—? a WORM?!"

━ confusion. and. shock. now where'd this come from? this has to be some sort of trick question!

━ frets more about the reasons WHY you would even be turned into a worm in the first place. a science experiment gone wrong? ZACK?! you're not trying to tell him something, are you?

━ ultimately tells you that, yes! of course he would! he'd keep you all snug in his pocket and feed you tiny meals from the larger meals he'd be making for the rest gang. will include you in everything he does! ...now who's gonna tell him that it'd be much more complicated than he thinks it'd be?

New Episodes of Wild Kratts

Three new episodes of Wild Kratts will be airing in November of 2024. Salamander Streaming, Bumblezzz, and Chimpanzee and Me.

The synopsis for Bumblezz is yet to come, however we have plots for Salamander Streaming and Chimpanzee and Me.

Salamander Streaming - Airing Monday November 4th, 2024.

Mysteriously, the Tortuga shorts and powers down while the gang is streaming a movie. Koki says it won't be back today. What are they going to do? Chris and Martin announce they can still do streaming - salamander streaming! The rest of the gang wonders, what in the world is salamander streaming? The bros explain that salamander streaming is getting miniaturized and floating down a stream in tiny little boats looking for salamanders, of course! It's a race to find as many salamanders as they can while Koki tries to fix the Tortuga.

Pre-Episode Thoughts:

This was one of the episodes that the brothers announced at their live shows. I think that they will be focusing on tiger salamanders. Either way, I think it's gonna be cool that we might have a Salamander Power Suit.

WK's pop-culture references in the modern seasons are really hit and miss, but this is actually some good fucken wordplay with streaming.

If the Tortuga really is powered down, then will we actually see Salamander Power? Or is it gonna be like Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy where the brothers don't use any Power Suits? Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

Chimpanzee and Me - Airing - Airing Wednesday, November 6th, 2024

The gang travels deep into Uganda's tropical forests to uncover the true nature of the chimpanzee, but Chris sprains his ankle at the most inopportune time and can't participate. He is sad and upset. It's the climbing adventure that he's always looked forward to most. He tries to hide his disappointment and gets support from his friends, but it is a young chimp who shows him how to truly make the best of a bad situation.

Pre-Episode Thoughts:

This was another episode that Martin had hinted at the live shows. What's funny is that 2D Martin also expressed the idea of heading into the African rainforests in Rattlesnake Crystal (an episode that IRL Martin wrote). Again, not sure why it took them almost a decade and a half to get to this, but I digress.

Goddamn we are getting a LOT of angst in S7. Between this, No Name Dream, and the most recent episode, A Fish Out of Water, we're getting more character-driven plots, (especially if you count Paisley's redemption in the special). And while this does seem to be similar to Flight of the Draco, this does seem to have an intereting twist. Chimpanzees have many abilities apart from climbing, such as intellect, empathy, craftiness, and communciation. Maybe Chris will discover that and eventually use those skills to rescue the chimpanzees and/or the gang from a bad situation later.

Also, baby chimps are really fucking cute. I so hope that Chris gets to name it in the episode.

I've debated with my friends on this, and I do hope that we see a Chimpanzee Suit.. but knowing how anatomically similar chimps are to humans, and given how uncanny the Power Suits in the modern seasons have been.... I very much wonder.

That being said, if there is gonna be a Chimp Suit, I wonder if Chris will be the one to invent it? Assuming that he's staying behind at the Tortuga throughout this episode and makes the observations, then it would make sense that he'd invent the suit. Martin invented the Ermine Power Disc back in Season 5, so maybe Chris could invent a Chimpanzee Suit. Part of me thinks it'll backfire just as horribly, but after the bullshit that was the Indri-Conda Suit, I'm willing to accept anything 😭😭
