Well, as its Ghosts season 5 eve, I think its about time I give my final theories to how The captain and Kitty die.

Idk if promo pics count as spoilers, but they are below the cut

Starting with Kitty. Honestly, I think its going to be either food poisoning or an allergic reaction from the pineapple, but it will be spurred on by Eleanor.

I mean, look how much fun Kitty is having, she's laughing with everyone, and Eleanor looks so damn salty and jealous.

I mean, we know she isn't above trying to make Kitty sick (the warm oysters), plus we have seen kitty throw up as a ghost. I imagine the party would eat the pineapple, it begins to make Kitty ill and Eleanor would notice and would make a game of it. Something along the lines of "oh its horrid, lets see who can eat the most", expecting her to throw up and embarrass herself, not die.

Im leaning more towards food poisoning because chances are that pineapple would be rotten as hell by the time it reaches the Uk in the georgian era via boat.

Above all, I want to see kitty realise that Eleanor was a bitch and start unpacking that trauma. Bonus points for genuine kitmas bonding over the fact their familes are terrible.

Second of all, The Captain. Whoo boy I have feelings about this one, its a much less solid theory but it makes sense.

We all know the beloved cracked mirror in the intro but it got me thinking, what if its a metaphor for a broken image?

We all know Cap is big on appearances, but in the promo pics we see him looking like hes getting grilled by the general (wiki told me the red bits mean general, dont quote me though, also, stick my beloved).

Ever since Redinng weddy, I have wondered if Cap was ordered to bury the bomb. I doubt it considering its active explosives in someones back garden so I came to the conclusion that the "letter/operation william plans" were actually letters and Cap buried them with the bomb to keep them safe. But then, a suposedly important Government secret operation goes walkies? Thats a situation right there.

What if, after getting his medals, the general complains that he isnt worthy of them/is a spy or german ect (some Havers is a spy theory here, I dont love it but it would make some sense in this context) and it kind of adds up too much, so the other soldiers try and get rid of him. If a fight was to break out it would explain why he has the stick, he grabbed it out the general's hand trying to defend himself. Similarly, the draw opening in the intro could be someone grabbing a stashed away gun, causing panic (maybe cap finally got his service revolver). We also know a man was murdered in the library (said by Robin in the little promo film), I can only imagine it was teased because it was relevant.

Obviously this is a less solid theory but it would explain the weird expressions in the promo pics and tbh Im biased towards the Cap was murdered theory. Hypothetically, it could also be why he only wants to be known as The Captain, if the General tried to revoke his title after he got his medals.

They went missing at a birthday party for Michael in Freddy’s

Susie and Jeremy are siblings, their mother (Lora Afton-Fitzgerald) is William’s sister. William had always been close to his nieces and nephews and due to the fact his sister works in Freddy’s as the business side of things; he gets to see them often. They cling to their Aunt Clara and Uncle Will as bonus parents because Lora’s so overly busy with work that she hardly gets time to herself. Susie is 6, Jeremy is 5.

Gabriel is the son of Clara’s sister, Megan. He was 10.

Cassidy is Vanessa’s best friend who she had been allowed to bring along with her so she wouldn’t have to stay around a bunch of sticky little kids. She was 14

Fritz is one of Michael’s friends, they both bonded over their love for Foxy and Micheal constantly bragged that “Daddy made Foxy special for me” - Fritz thinks of it as the coolest thing ever. Fritz was 7.

oh! i haven't done this recently you're all good! man it's been a long time since I saw this meme!!

My friends!! I'm not tagging everyone but man have I met a LOT of awesome people on tumblr, AO3, and discord... The yuumori fandom in particular is so talkative and friendly, but I've found people in each and every fandom I've joined. When I came back to fandom as an adult circa 2015 I honestly didn't expect that I'd find lasting connections like this.

"My" characters. I literally almost felt like naming each as an individual thing, but that would end up being more than 5 things. I don't think there is a yuumori character that wouldn't be on this list, but especially Louis, Albert, William, Sherlock, Mycroft, James Bonde, and Milverton should be on that list. Plus, Seto Kaiba, Trafalgar Law, Katakuri, Sanji, Marco the Phoenix, Sabo... most of these people have been described as "sad, wet little men" and I won't disagree, I'm fairly certain that's my type.

Writing/reading! The right combination of words can really make my brain happy. Anything from vivid, realistic depictions to heavy metaphor to just unique wordplay is so fun. I love it so much. It's great when I can think of it, it's great when I get to be lazy and read someone else's version of it. It's just great.

Cooking and good food. I love to eat and I really love it when I manage to make something I liked eating.

Painting miniatures - Something else I've spent way too much money on recently, but it's honestly not that hard? I'm not very crafty but there are so many tips and tricks and like. I started with this cute little space hamster and now I'm doing the minis that came in my copy of the Monster Hunter World Board game and like. I'm still really proud of them even though I'm a novice. (I guess images aren't allowed when I'm answering an ask?? So I'll add pictures in a reblog probably 😂)

Bonus! Board Games! This has already come up but I have... SO many board games. I have a weekly board game week with my fiance, his brother and one of our mutual friends. We switch on and off between legacy games like Monster Hunter World, CCGs like Magic the Gathering, and more traditional board games like Wingspan (which I'm naming because it's my favorite).

Post 2 of my Companions with each Doctor Series: Ian and Barbara edition.

I can't split this pair up. I just can't. If you can you don't have a soul I'm sorry I don't make the rules.

1: They'd be so happy to see One more comfortable in their heroic persona. Ian in particular would be over the moon at not having to call 1 out on BS every step of the way. Barbara would take one look at Dodo and adopt the poor child, and God forbid she ever met Sarah Kingdom: it would be game over for the Daleks.

2: I think they'd find Two's antics a little frustrating at times, but would be happy that they can finally share a laugh together. Ian would probably enjoy meeting Professor Travers though, and Barbara would love the historical settings.

3: Three can be a little too overbearing for either of their tastes, so this may not go too well sometimes. However Ian would 100% learn Venusian Aikido (Barbara is a girlboss and already knows it innately) and enjoy every moment of it. They're usually pretty okay with military forces if its self defence so I can see them getting on with the UNIT forces too.

4: Oh boy. This could go in so many ways and would honestly be a rollercoaster. Both of them have a good sense of fun though, so I think that the more wacky adventures in the Williams era of the show would be to their liking. I could see Barbara really getting into the whole drugs debate in Nightmare in Eden.

5: They're too old and not gay enough. I'm sorry but 5 only takes disaster gay kids. Again, I don't make the rules here. Five's tenure is also fairly traumatic, with their lighthearted episodes usually still featuring quite the body count, and I don't think that Ian and Barbara are there for that sort of adventure. They'd want out.

6: They're literally the perfect companions for TV 6. Yes I said it, hear me out - they managed to call 1 out on their bullshit and they would 100% be able to do it again. Hands would be thrown, and it would occasionally be a little ugly at first, but they would very soon have 6's ego reigned in and as long as they got through the bumpy part, they'd have a whale of a time at the end. Big Finish 6 would be great for them too - exactly the right kind of mellow that they'd enjoy in their trips, but with enough spice to keep it interesting.

7: Yeah they'd find them amusing at first but as soon as 7 went full super-sociopath they'd be out of there.

8: Again, early adventures would be cool and I think they'd both shit themselves with excitement over the idea of travelling with Shelley, but as soon as the going got traumatic they wouldn't be happy and would want out.

War: Nah bro, Ian already fought in WWII (to my knowledge at least - I believe he is old enough to have done so), he doesn't need more trauma. Barbara would be heartbroken by what The Doctor had become here.

9: As with 6, they'd mellow them out and then as an added bonus put them in therapy. However they would also find the adventures of 9 really interesting and considering their age they could have something to say about the 3rd Great And Bountiful Human Empire.

10: They'd help them get over Rose quickly, and would love meeting Shakespeare. I feel like both of them would enjoy 10 and their attitude to adventuring, and would work perfectly with them in Human Nature/The Family of Blood with working in a school and whatnot.

11: This would be like the Pond era but with less miniskirt comments, so frankly it would be amazing.

12: As soon as 12's teacher vibe set in, this trio would be unstoppable. Before then would be shaky though, so it depends on when they all met again. They would also both collectively adopt Bill as soon as they met her, and Barbara could probably outsass even Missy on a good day.

13: They'd form a close bond quickly and throughly enjoy travelling together. I feel like 13 would feel safe opening up to them about Gallifrey and things, and honestly this has the potential for a couple of really healthy doctor-companion relationships (not of the romantic kind though thankyou very much)

Ruth: Yeah again they wouldn't be able to deal with this amount of sass and overconfidence. Patience would run very thin and they are better paired with many other doctors than this pairing.

You may have seen the “Top 10 Ships Involving POC” post circulating (I hope you have!), but I’ve been really emotional about deep platonic bonds too. So.  I’m making a branch off of that post to give some love to some amazing Characters of Color and their friendships, too (in no particular order). <3

1) Scott McCall & Lydia Martin - Teen Wolf

This is a God-tier friendship. The growth?? The commitment?? The love?? Unparalleled. Best friendship on the show by the end. (I will die on this hill.) Also, the way this exchange is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen?

2) Landon Kirby & Rafael Waithe - Legacies

I am very emotional about these boys and their relationship. We were robbed of more brotherly shenanigans with these two, robbed.

3) Julie Molina & her himbos Alex, Luke, Reggie AND Julie & Flynn (yes, I’m cheating.) - Julie and the Phantoms

Look, it’s impossible to choose! I love Julynn so much. They’ve got this amazing foundation of trust and loyalty and love that fuels their friendship. But I also am constantly thinking about how the boys came into Julie’s life and helped her feel alive again, like there was hope again (and how she in turn did the same for them). And that’s beautiful damn it. All of these friendships are transcendent.

4) Winston Bishop & Cece Parekh - New Girl

Time for a Classic Winston and Cece Messaround! I really loved how their unlikely friendship developed into something deep and caring, and how it allowed Cece to explore a more playful side of her personality.

5) Bonnie Bennett & Damon Salvatore - The Vampire Diaries

Bamon has a lot of romantic subtext and they could easily be a couple. But honestly, I enjoy their bond as platonic so much more. The way these two started out hating each other, and their friendship was a real slow build until they were stuck in that prison world together, and afterward they were inseparable? I cannot express enough how much love I have for the depth of understanding and care for each other they developed.

6) Derek Morgan & Spencer Reid - Criminal Minds

I haven’t watched this show in a very long time, but I will always be soft about how soft Morgan is for Reid. 

7) Ellie Chu & Paul Munsky (feat. Papa Chu) - The Half of It

I’m still not over how this movie really was like “all forms of love are equally valuable, romance isn’t the most important thing.” Like, it wasn’t really a romantic movie at all in the end. It was about showing the depth and importance of other forms of love and that’s a really lovely message. The strong platonic friendship Ellie and Paul developed throughout the movie was beautiful, and I’m emotional about it. (And I love, too, that Paul not only bonded with Ellie, but with her severely depressed father who we watched slowly gain hope again throughout the movie.)

8) Layla Keating & Tamia “Coop” Cooper - All American

Their friendship is honestly one of my favorite things. Like, it just...happened. But it feels really pure and good. It was important for them both, I think, that they wound up forming this strong partnership that simply started with Layla recognizing Coop’s talent, and Coop in turn recognizing Layla’s. They really helped each other grow even while both being in pretty dark places. That was really cool of them. I hope we get more good Coop/Layla dynamic in Season 3.

9) Raven Reyes & John Murphy - The 100

A+ character development, A+ friendship building. The Enemies to Friends was strong with these two.

10) Javier Esposito & Kevin Ryan - Castle

Taking it way back on this one. I was obsessively into Castle when I was younger, and one of my favorite parts of the show was Javi and Ryan’s “bromance.” It was mostly fun, them goofing around, but they had some really emotional scenes that got me good.

Bonus: Malika Williams & Alice Kwan - Good Trouble

I couldn’t find a single gif of them together, or even a non-BTS picture. But I love their friendship! Malika teaching Alice to not take shit from everybody is 11/10

LGBTQ X-Files Headcanons Because Someone Asked

Fox Mulder:

Bi and trans icon

The first person he told was Samantha

She accepted him immediately as her big brother and told him he should name himself Fox (it was her favorite animal at the time)

He was going to make his name William Mulder Jr. up until she disappeared, in which he actually decided to make his first name Fox (he misses her 🥺)

Came out to his parents sometime in high school, both took it badly

Bill was hella transphobic—he was already pretty shitty to Mulder but this added a whole new layer to it

Teena was more passive aggressive about it but still made withering comments about how she “lost two daughters now”

Some high school friends (*chants* PHOEBE AND GIMBLE PHOEBE AND GIMBLE) helped Mulder start T and change his legal name on government documents before he left for Oxford

Mulder wanted to go stealth while he was there but came out to Phoebe

When they broke up, she outed him to everyone

Things got so bad that he almost dropped out

Mulder joined the FBI, excited at the prospect of knowing no one and being able to go exclusively by his last name

He was somewhat happy of his solitude in the basement—no one really looked into him past his spooky nature, so no one could find out he was trans

Since Samantha, Scully was the first person who was truly accepting of who he really was

Got top surgery sometime before Colony

Definitely fell in love with Scully right after reading her profile skrjnwkdjwka

Mulder and Krycek were definitely an item for a hot sec until Krycek went evil

Mulder is 500% faithful to Scully but kinda had a crush on Doggett for a little bit

Mulder just wants to be a better dad than Bill 🥺🥺🥺

Mulder helped Byers realize he was trans!!! More on that later though

Dana Scully:

A bi queen

Definitely experimented in college and had a couple girlfriends there and through med school

Ending up breaking up with a girl she was really close with because Scully’s job was just putting too much strain on their relationship

It was really hard on her and made her swear off serious relationships for a long time

She thought Mulder was adorable from the moment she saw him but was really scared of actually developing feelings for him so she pushed it down

And kept pushing it down until she finally realized Mulder was never going to hurt her and actually let him in

I’m just ranting about MSR now oops

100% faithful to Mulder but thought Reyes was super hot

Scully is just a distinguished bi idk what else to say

Walter Skinner:

You can’t adopt THAT MANY LGBT agents if you’re not LGBT yourself, right?

Definitely bisexual

Grew up in a really conservative family and didn’t even consider it an option until he moved out

Skinner was attracted to a lot of guys in his squad in Vietnam but he thought it was just because there were no women around

(Spoiler alert: it wasn’t)

Skinner fell in love with John “Kitten” James and he fell hard

Absolutely did everything possible to protect that man

He was terrified of his feelings though and pushed them down, eventually starting to resent his best friend for making him feel things he couldn’t understand

When Kitten got infected by that gas, Skinner put his values over the man he loved, not just because he thought it was the right thing to do, but because he was terrified that he might be bi

He has regretted it ever since

Married his wife after the war and had a pretty good relationship until he became too consumed with his work

Their breakup was really hard on him and he delved even more into his work

Sometime after Avatar (maybe by season 5 or 6), Skinner meets a really lovely man and that man becomes his boyfriend

It’s really hard at first, but the guy helps Skinner to open up and allow himself to be okay with who he really is

They make time for each other outside of work and are really happy together!

Skinner’s boyfriend is 100% okay with the fact that Skinner has basically adopted all these agents

Skinner is everyone’s dad!!! No exceptions

John Byers:

Trans man!!!!

Discovered it pretty late in life, like he knew earlier but he Repressed it

First person he ever came out to was Mulder (as in my fic 😌)

Lots of internalized transphobia in this man but Mulder and the Lone Gunmen really helped him break out of that

Langly and Frohike obviously went with him to get his first T shot and chanted “MAN JUICE” while it happened (scaring a lot of the nurses)

Met Susanne before he transitioned so seeing her again in Three of a Kind was a little terrifying for him

She accepts him though and is a bi icon herself

Byers wears suits so much because they make him feel really validated

Ringo Langly:

Non-binary and gay!! Langly uses any pronouns (gonna stick to he/him for this list to keep things simple though)

Grew up pretty unaware about gender as a whole, just living his life

Moving away from home to a city was huge for him, he started going to gay bars and really realized that he was gay

Eventually started to experiment with his gender, using different pronouns etc., and found out he was non-binary!

Came out to Frohike shortly after learning Frohike was bi (more on that later)

Goes by Ringo because it’s somewhat gender neutral

He isn’t dysphoric very often but when he is it’s very hard for him to cope, Byers and Frohike are always there to support him and help however possible though

Langly gets way more dates than Frohike and loves to brag about it

Melvin Frohike:

We stan one funky little bi king

HE WAS AT STONEWALL I’LL DIE ON THIS HILL

Frohike had a mega crush on Mulder when he first met him and it persisted all the way until he met Scully

And then when he met Doggett he crushed on him too

Frohike is just kind of a hopeless romantic okay I love him

Absolutely bonds with Scully and they always debate which celebrity is hotter while they get more and more drunk

John Doggett

GAY MAN

Doggett was really repressed for a lot of his life, not because he thought his family would hate him for being gay but mostly because of his environment

(He was a drama kid though)

The military REALLY repressed him and thoroughly fucked him up

It wasn’t until he met Reyes that he started to accept himself more

At first Reyes being a lesbian totally freaked him out and he was really upset, leading to a huge strain on their friendship, but one night he broke down and told her he was pretty sure he was gay

Reyes really helped him through everything, especially his divorce from his wife and the loss of his son

Doggett eventually came out to his dad, who was super accepting

It took Doggett a long time to be comfortable enough to date but he started and met a really great guy, one who he’s now married to

One day he mentioned his boyfriend in passing and the rest of the Spooky Squad totally flipped out because they had no idea he was gay

Doggett just straight-faced “I didn’t think it was relevant?”

Sings musical theater songs in the office when no one else is there

Monica Reyes:

A lesbian

There isn’t a straight bone in her body have you SEEN her???

Absolutely crushed on Scully for the longest time at first, totally backed off when she realized she was involved with Mulder

Total mlm/wlw solidarity with Doggett

Reyes is super comfortable with her sexuality

I’m convinced that she’s married and she and her wife live in the same neighborhood as Doggett and his husband

Running out of brain power at this point but I just love her so much??? Mwah

Alex Krycek:

Gay rat

Everything he did against Mulder and Scully was fueled by spite at his ex-boyfriend Mulder

Daddy issues

Sometimes he breaks into TLG’s base and vibes with them for a few days

Just finished watching Supergirl 6x04 and oh boy let me tell you i was nervous for the whole freaking episode, let’s go:

1. Baby Lena being excited to actually join the team at the Tower. She’s such a baby, trying to help as much as she can🥺

2. I knew the imp lady wasn’t trustworthy. It was too easy. On the other hand she’s right, Kara’s father pretty much made the decision for her no questions asked and even tho it ended saving her, it doesn’t mean it was easy

3. Brainy eating his feelings away: i can totally relate to this.

4. Nia is the MVP of the episode, not gonna lie.

5. I just love how everyone calls Kara ‘Supergirl’ except for Alex and Lena. Just dropping it there as an important piece of information.

6. At first i was like Alex what the hell!? But sometimes you have to make decisions that may not be comfortable, i guess it’s about the greater good.

7. Sister-in-law bonding, i’ll take it! Give it to meeee

8. Lena pretty much destroyed when she found out that they weren’t going to save Kara, at least not in that moment. The yearning for her wife to come back is real and honestly? Same, these two have been apart for too long (it’s mainly because of Melissa’s maternity leave i think).

9. Where’s Kelly? I miss Kelly! She grounds everyone.

10. The team is lacking but at least they are stepping up to their game.

11. Lena freaking Luthor saying that she understands Alex, but she doesn’t think she would have been able to make the same choice of saving pretty much everyone versus saving Kara. There’s a similar scene between Kara and Clark, when she sent Mon-El away, Clark says that if it comes between Lois and the rest of the world, he doesn’t know if he’s capable of doing it. Kara clearly was capable even if it affected her and even if her feelings for Mon-El were strong as it was shown before. It’s curious they decide to parallel moments between Kara and Lena with other romantic couples.

12. Also, Alex telling Lena that it wasn’t her fault🥺 baby just wants to help. Hopefully we see Lena staying at the tower and becoming the scientist that the team needs.

13. Lena the scotch connoisseur *chef’s kiss* now we can finally see a friendship building between Alex and Lena and the strong bond they share over the love they have for Kara

14. Buckle up buttercup, Midvale ride coming up! Honestly i wanted and episode with the superfriends going WITH Kara included but i guess this works just fine.

Bonus: no Lex or William, also that’s a win for me.

Kara presses her hands against her ears.

When Eliza and Alex brought Kara to the park, they hadn’t considered the possibility of anyone using dog whistles. 

Alex stares at the dog whistle now hanging from the woman’s hand. She’s learned about Pavlov. Given how much Kara loves snacks, Alex wonders how easy it would be to condition Kara. As an added bonus, Alex wouldn’t have to deal with hearing the annoying noise herself.

“Alex?” Her mom’s voice cuts through her thoughts.

“Just thinking about Pavlov,” Alex murmurs. 

Apparently her mom can read her mind because she immediately says, “Alex, no.”

“Ow.”

“Are you okay?” Kara asks anxiously.

“I think so.” Alex tries to move her left arm. “Ow. Actually, can you take a quick look to make sure nothing’s broken?”

“Alex,” Kara says uncertainly.

“If nothing’s broken, then Mom doesn’t need to know about this.”

And they definitely don’t want Eliza to know about their adventures.

“I don’t know what it’s supposed to look like,” Kara reminds her. 

“Oh, right.” Alex brings her right hand up to rub at her forehead. “Mom has her anatomy textbooks in her office. Can you check those for reference?”

Kara nods and scrambles away.

Kara falls onto the couch beside Alex. “Ugh, moving is exhausting.”

Moving the couch up the stairwell and into Alex’s new apartment in National City had been overly reminiscent of the scene in Friends. With Kara maintaining appearances as a normal human, she had been relegated to helping Alex move sans powers.

Mostly.

Alex glares at her. “You have super strength!”

“Okay, so I’d never drop the couch,” Kara says. “But also, one wrong move with those tight turns, and I could’ve shoved you and the couch through the walls.” She taps her temple. “Needed all my mental super strength.”

1x02 Stronger Together (Freeze Breath)

Agent Vasquez approaches Alex, tablet in hand. “Ma’am, we’ve got Supergirl news.” 

Reports of Supergirl’s freeze breath mishap in the bay fill the screen.

Alex frowns, remembering delicate snow falling around the Christmas tree in their living room. Surely that required good control of Kara’s freeze breath. “What happened to White Christmas?”

“What?” Vasquez asks.

“What?” Alex repeats. Realizing what she said aloud, she says, “Nothing.” Kara’s words about almost forgetting how to fly echo in Alex’s head, and the incident starts to make more sense. “I’m sure she’ll get it under control, but keep me apprised of any updates.”

“Thanks again for going to Chicago to get me food,” Alex says once everything with Astra, General Lane, and Cat has calmed down.

“No problem,” Kara says. “Hey, now that I’m Supergirl, I can probably do that more often.” 

Alex lights up. “Did I ever tell you about the best gnocchi I’ve ever had?”

“What? No.” Kara suddenly sits up straighter. “Where is it?”

“It was in Rome,” Alex says, pulling out her phone. “I think the Testaccio neighborhood. Let me double check.”

Kara checks her own phone for the time in Rome. “I’m going to Rome. Be right back.”

2x03 Welcome to Earth (Heat Vision)

“Did you consider not running into the literal line of fire?” Maggie asks as she accompanies Alex back to the DEO, so Alex can patch her up properly.

Alex shrugs. After growing up with Kara and her occasionally uncontrolled heat vision, the literal line of fire is nothing new. 

“Do you think she’s ever thought about other uses for her powers?” Alex asks about the Infernian.

Maggie cocks her head. “Like what?”

“Like s’mores,” Alex says. “If she holds marshmallows just right, she could make the perfect s’mores. I’ve done that with Supergirl.”

Maggie laughs. “You guys really are fun.”

3x09 Reign (Flight)

“Okay, one, has Supergirl ever flown you anywhere? And two, if so, how was it? And, three…” 

Alex smiles at the enthusiasm behind Ruby’s rapidfire questions.

Of the many times Alex has flown with Kara, some occasions make for rather dull stories. 

When they were kids, they liked watching movies late into the night. After many nights of falling asleep on the couch, they devised a new code phrase. Eliza would say, “ET phone home”, and Kara would sleep-float the two of them upstairs to their beds.

Alex decides to tell Ruby about “I’ll meet you outside”. That’s much cooler.

“How’re you processing everything?” Kelly asks as she and William watch Alex and Kara goof off together. 

“I won’t lie. It’s surreal,” William says. “And Alex is definitely human?”

Kelly frowns in confusion. “Yeah, why?”

“I’ve seen them before, you know, typical siblings: Alex feinting and Kara recoiling. Her fear seemed quite real.” William laughs at his own naivete. “I know Kara must be a good actress to pull off her multiple identities but...”

“Oh, no, I think that’s genuine,” Kelly says. “Kara may be invulnerable, and Alex may be human, but I don’t think that matters for these two.”

Mike Does GENERAL MILLS MONSTER CEREAL TIKI COCKTAILS!

Some mark the passage of time with the changes in the season; others mark their calendars with the holidays. Me? I tell what time of the year it is with t.v. commercials and limited release food items. Every year, the General Mills Cereal Monsters are the autumnal harbingers of super sweet snacks and the best month: October. Count Chocula, Franken Berry and Boo Berry (and sometimes Fruit Brute and the Fruity Yummy Mummy) haven’t been a year-round offering for quite some time, so their timed appearances on shelves is a consistent treat for fall time.

This year, I decided to honor these ghoulishly great pop icons and concoct cereal creature feature cocktails while also making use of these rad Geeki Tiki mugs I’ve had since 2018! Using my knowledge of classic tiki cocktail ingredients (orgeat, Don’s Spices #2 & #4) and the art of blending multiple spirits (“What one rum can’t do, three rums can,” -Donn Beach aka Don the Beachcomber), I became a marshmallow-milk soaked mad scientist and here, boils and ghouls, are the frighteningly decadent results!

Count Chocula

1 ounce reposado tequila (Pueblo Viejo)

1 ounce column still aged rum (Ron Abuelo 7 Year)

2 ounce Count Chocula cereal-infused milk

½ ounce heavy cream

¾ ounce orgeat

1 dash Bittermens Xocolatl Mole Bitters

Franken Berry

1 ½ ounce blended lightly aged rum (Denizen Aged White)

½ ounce overproof Jamaican rum (Wray & Nephew)

2 ounce Franken Berry cereal-infused milk

½ ounce heavy cream

¾ ounce Don’s Spices #4

1 dash orange bitters 

Boo Berry

1 ounce blended aged rum (Plantation Barbados 5 Year)

1 ounce bourbon (Evan Williams Bottled in Bond)

2 ounce Boo Berry cereal-infused milk

½ ounce heavy cream

¾ ounce Don’s Spices #2

1 dash Angostura bitters

To make each of these General Mills Monster Cereal cocktails:

Combine all ingredients into a mixing tin.

Add some ice.

Shake and strain over crushed ice in your tiki mug.

If needed, top with additional ice to fill.

Garnish with a flaming cereal lime hull.

Flaming Cereal Garnish

Cut a lime in half and using a manual juicer, juice the lime. Reserve the lime juice for another use (maybe make yourself a daiquiri or margarita? Or put it in your water while rehydrating from overdoing it on the libations, chief). Save those lime hulls and pop them back from being inside out. Nestle the hull into your ice-filled tiki mug. Fill with cereal doused with a small measure of lemon extract. Carefully set is ablaze (“I set my home on fire with cereal,” while being a great conversation opener, does not outweigh property damage). Bonus points: sprinkle grated cinnamon to spark the flame!

Monster Cereal Milk

1 part General Mills Monster Cereal

1 part whole milk

Combine ingredients in a pitcher. Let sit for 20-30 minutes.

Strain out the cereal, using a spoon to gently press on the cereal to extract any remaining milk.

Don’s Spices #4

3-4 cinnamon sticks

1 cup water

1 cup white granulated sugar

Muddle the cinnamon into tiny pieces.

In a pan, toast the cinnamon over medium heat until aromatic.

Add all the ingredients to a pot and bring to a boil.

Cover and drop to a simmer for 2 minutes.

Remove from heat, keep covered and let sit overnight.

Strain and keep refrigerated.

Don’s Spices #2

1 part vanilla syrup

1 part allspice dram/pimento liqueur

Mix thoroughly and refrigerate.

Vanilla Syrup

1 vanilla bean pod (or 1 tsp. vanilla bean paste)

1 cup water

1 cup sugar

Cut the vanilla pod into tiny pieces.

In a pot add all the ingredients and bring to a boil.

Cover and drop to a simmer for 2 minutes.

Remove from heat, keep covered and let sit overnight.

Strain and keep refrigerated.

Note on Orgeat (Almond Syrup)

Unless you are quite adventurous (like myself), I would recommend the no-fuss, no-muss method: purchasing any number of high quality orgreats from either Orgeat Works, Small Hand Foods or BG Reynolds.
