...There is no light— Only a honey-thick stain That drips from leaf to leaf And limb to limb Spoiling the colours Of the whole world. I am alone. The weight of love Has buoyed me up Till my head Knocks against the sky. See me! My hair is dripping with nectar— Starlings carry it On their black wings. See, at last My arms and my hands Are lying idle. How can I tell If I shall ever love you again As I do now?...

A pretty excellent haul from the cherry tree yesterday evening, with another three quarters left to come once they’re ripe. They’re so sweet and good that if I had been born William Carlos Williams I’d be writing a pithy little poem about them right now. #iamnotwilliamcarloswilliams #wcw #williamcarloswilliams #cherries #gardening #fruittrees #cherrytree #garden #homeproduce #fruit #poetry #horticulture #bbcgardenersworld #harvest #red #homegrown #diyculture (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ce80hTzIN1H/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

William Carlos Williams

Time to paint the treehouse red. It’s not a wheelbarrow, but William Carlos Williams should like it. #williamcarloswilliams #redtreehouse #treehouse #atgrandmas #red #redpaint #painting #housepaint https://www.instagram.com/p/CCL_IEFBszX/?igshid=y7dfy7gfw2xd

#kimickaphotoaday Day 21: Poetry #WorldPoetryDay Some of my favorite lines of poetry from some of my favorite poets, starting with a haiku I wrote in my 10th grade English class 10 years ago. (O.o) Followed by lines from Sandra Cisneros (I had the honor of being a member of the 1st university class exclusively focused on her work, and meeting her at our symposium at the end of the semester, in 2017), William Carlos Williams (this poem was on the board everyday in my first creative writing class), Wallace Stevens, Lord Byron (my fave Romantic poet), and T.S Eliot. I have more favorite lines and poets, but we’ll keep it to these few for now. So much depends upon this. This is the grave of New Jersey poet William Carlos Williams in Lyndhurst, NJ, flanked by his son William and wife Florence. This afternoon I attended a memorial service (on what would have been my Dad’s 87th and my grandmother’s 118th birthday) at a gravesite just several yards away from here, the final resting place of my first boss at the New York Telephone Co. Like Dr. Williams, my mentor was a talented writer and editor. #williamcarloswilliams #foundinnj (at Hillside Cemetery) https://www.instagram.com/p/BtHTIOvA2uj/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1gkb55ekfo4mf
