The Killer • @windbrook's SLASHED challenge
Evangeline Moroi, a descendant of the Lunvik family, grapples with a unique identity as a half-werewolf, half-vampire hybrid with a magic bloodline. -Λ‹Λβœ„Β β”β”β”β”β”β”β”β”β”β”β”β” ⊱🩸⊰ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Standing at the crossroads of two conflicting factions she bears the weight of her inner turmoil through self-inflicted scars on her face.
Determined to redeem the Lunvik family name and seeking peace by aligning herself with one side, she embraces the legacy passed down by her ancestors, vowing to eliminate all vampires, starting with her oblivious great-great-aunt Elizaveta.
However, has this vengeful pursuit paid off after spending some time on the estate where she surprisingly found friends after all? Thank you @aniraklova for the stunning hair!

πŸ“© Simblr question of the day: You can answer one or both parts of this question! Part one: If you make Story posts, what do you do for scenes? Do you build them yourself, do you download lots from the gallery or do you download them from someone online? Part two: If you make Gameplay/Legacy posts, what do you do for a house? Do you build it yourself, download a home from the gallery or do you download them from someone online? Additionally, do you build onto that home or demolish it and rebuild the house when needed? (E.G When another child enters the picture or someone moves in) If you do none of those, what do you do? Do you use someone else's save file? (WIndbrook by Folking, Willow Creek + Magnolia Promenade by Theneighborhoodsave, Silent Pines by Silentpinessave... etc)
answer in whatever way is most comfortable for you and feel free to share this SQOTD around, make sure to use the hashtag SQOTD and tag me (simblr-question-of-the-day) in separate posts ~ πŸ’›

Thank you so much for the ask! I think SQOTD is such an amazing idea and I really appreciate you going out of your way to get some conversations going within the community.
1️⃣ I think I'm a mix of storyteller and gameplay blog so I'll answer both. I used to use poses a lot more when playing and telling stories, but now I more or less only use gameplay to influence the story and I find I really enjoy that. It's a lot more freeing than having to find very niche poses to convey the specific idea you have. As for builds, I do everything myself. I'm not a fantastic builder, but I really like it anyway and really like seeing a save file full of my own builds.
2️⃣ Same as above: I build my own houses and yes, additions happen. The way I play, most of my households start out really broke (often with 0 simoleons). The houses start off as a patchwork of rooms, added on as my sims make simoleons. Then after a while, if I have enough simoleons saved, I'll redo the whole house but keep the bones and maybe a bit of the aesthetic. It really depends on how ugly it was to begin with. πŸ˜‚ The house I built for Bruno and Belle on the old Gateway Peak property where my founders lived when I started my BACC was a complete bulldoze. It looks NOTHING like the original.
Thanks for the ask! Can't wait to get more in the future! My inbox is always open! Happy Simming! πŸ’š

hello squatty! oooh i'm gonna answer all!!
1️⃣ Part one: i don't build. i'm a terrible builder. like, very baaaaaaad. instead, i download lots from simblrs and only cc-free lots.
2️⃣ Part two: again, i don't build, i play savefiles, download from the gallery or from tumblrs. but i have found out during my gameplay that i don't like to have a fully decorated house from the start. i like to add personal touches myself that feel more in tune with the character i'm playing with. so it's usual for me to download a house and sell most of the furniture inside. i don't demolish, i rebuild, but i basically work with the 'house shell' i have because i have - trouble - with ceilings and rooftops... 😢i have also noticed i don't like big bedrooms, i prefer to have a big open space with kithcen-living room and that being the center of the life in the house, rather than bedrooms. and i can't play with big houses either... it feels too overwhelming.
❎ yes, i also use savefiles, i actually have a couple of favourite ones! like fleuralia, ladychaos, dizzy isy, better together, maybe emily's save, haledela, sweetiewright, uberhood save :)

i am in love with your sonder legacy. I was wondering if you had the house up for download anywhere? and maybe a closer look at the sims and their outfits?? πŸ₯°πŸ₯°
Hi friend! I’m so happy you’re enjoying it! Unfortunately the OG house isn’t mine, it came with the Windbrook 2.0 save file! I only decorated the interior so I can’t put it up for download for you! However their new apartment is up on my gallery (inspired_sims7) and on my patreon! and you can find all the CC I used here!

As for my lovely sims here is a lookbook for both of them!

I only do gameplay, so I'll answer part two.
I don't build, and if I do that's going to be a box-house πŸ˜…
Tumblr media
So most times I download houses from the gallery or somewhere online (mostly gallery though). And usually I will adjust the house a bit to fit the family.
For my RainbowSin family's latest house I demolished the third floor, because it wasn't used by the family, but sims would go there all the time which was a waste of time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in gen 2 I build onto this ⬇️ EA house to fit all family members. But I don't have any pictures of the rebuilded house, sorry πŸ™ˆ

Lili is a recent resident in the city of Windbrook. She inherited her grandmother's home after her passing. *looks around sheepishly* I don't actually know if my normal "story" posts would be classed as story or gameplay or legacy... For sure I don't have to set anything up for the behind the scenes I capture, but I'll do my best to answer below for my ChangingPlumbobStorytime!
Tumblr media
Look, it's me being sheepish! Terrible joke but it's been a hard week so take up your comedy problems with my vet bill!
If you make Story posts, what do you do for scenes?
I'm thinking about more if I need a specific scene. For example when Keira and Liam got detained and had to be in jail cells... I built that in a box, just like @matchalovertrait did with her set, probably because we share a brain.
When Moonwood Mill needed a sheriff station I brainstormed and eventually decided I needed to build a rec centre with the sheriff station attached because that world has few lots and I couldn't waste a whole one on a place we will only see a handful of times (I very much hope). So I looked on the gallery for builds on the specific lot and then went in, deleted most of the decor and changed it to what I needed.
Tumblr media
Oh another sheep gif? Does it have an accompanying joke? Nope, ewe don't need one.
If you make Gameplay/Legacy posts, what do you do for a house?
A mixed bag for sure. I do not consider myself a builder, but I would like to be better, so I'm trying to challenge myself now and then.
So the Pancakes, Woods, Foster, New Goth and Nishidake Households live in renovated lots. Either these were the in game lot or a lot I pulled from the gallery. I'll keep the main shell of these ones but may change the inner walls. I'll change wallpaper/flooring to suit the sims and add furniture based on the sims favourite colours and decor styles.
The Knightstone, Chopra, Romero, Villareal and York households live on lots I built. They were all built from necessity. I needed space for collections, or chickens, or other units, or a modern mansion or an Italian style build from my mind.
Tumblr media
Another gif! Don't be a-lamb-ed!
Additionally, do you build onto that home or demolish it and rebuild the house when needed?
As you may have guessed from the above answers, I renovate. However some of the homes I built I have built with space for kids etc. I've found if I add on to the house as I go by extending things it rarely looks nice. So if I needed more rooms than I have I would consider adding a floor, doing a pull down rebuild or shifting to a new lot.

Hello, friend! Thank you for the thought and time you put into these questions. I hope the new blog takes off. ❀️
For both story and gameplay purposes, the short answer is I will always choose to do as little building (and ideally decorating) as I can get away with. Building is not my forte at all. I find it dull and draining, and even if I have references I often just don't know where to start. Decorating can be draining for me too because it activates both my indecisiveness and my perfectionism, but I'll do it slightly more often, especially for my Sims' homes because I do like them to be personalized. If I'm making a few changes here and there to an already decorated space, it's not a big deal. If I know I'll have to decorate an entire build, it's definitely something I need to mentally prepare myself to commit to because it'll probably take at least a week. (More rambling and examples under the cut.)
The only full build I've done for my story so far has been this shop in Oasis Springs because I couldn't find anything that matched the vibe in my head. It was so structurally simple but took me forever.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ulrike's apartment and Vatore Manor are both builds by @haledela that I fully redecorated. I love replacing residential lots in my worlds with their builds because they look so much nicer than the usual Maxis monstrosities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sometimes I'll just decorate one room if I need something specific for a scene. For example, I temporarily replaced part of UBrite Commons with this classroom. For the concert scene, I used another build by @haledela and just spruced it up a bit to get the stage area looking how I wanted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I find most builds on Tumblr. I'll scour finds blogs, follow the builders I like most, and then bookmark anything interesting that comes across my dash. I find browsing the gallery overwhelming, so I only do it if I can't find anything here or need something in a pinch when I'm already in-game. The types of builds I love most are multipurpose lots that I can use for several scenes but make look like different places! For example, Helena and Ulrike's break-up and Helena and Lilith's first meeting take place on the same lot. I also used the same lot for the haunted house scene in the prologue and the Spooky Bowl! They're both by the very talented and creative @whyeverr, whose builds I've used countless times.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some of my other favorite builders besides the two I've mentioned are @alerionjkeee, @bottsbotts, @beetlemp3, @ratboysims, and @sweetbeagaming! They all have really diverse and unique builds that I always get a lot of mileage out of when I use them!

Hello! Thank you so much for a SQOTD - I feel honored! 😊
I'm still working on getting better at building so I mostly download from the gallery as much as I can.
I do build my own lots when I can't find exactly what I want (most of the time that being lots important to the story/gameplay like my sims' home) or when I'm procrastinating on updating and can't access the gallery πŸ˜…
When the house gets too small for the family, I try to make it work realistically or I move them somewhere bigger!
Thanks again for letting me ramble! ❀
