I pinkified my desktop and firefox! i might fiddle with it some more but im mostly done :)

omfg I've had windows 11 for less than a week and i hate it so much. every iteration of windows has gotten worse and worse.
basic functionality has been sacrificed for spyware and ai bullshit.

this is a small dumb thing but we put our taskbar on the side of the screen (instead of the bottom) and it's unbelievable how much bigger our screen feels now. like. on a simple factual level the screen is wider than it is tall, so the taskbar is occupying fewer pixels now (same width, shorter length) but yeah. anyway.
#we put our taskbar on the side of the screen at work because there's a particular screenshot we need to get frequently#and with the taskbar at the bottom we need to f11 fullscreen the program it comes from but with taskbar at the side we don't need to#but we just now did it on the home computer#should we tag this linux? we use linux mint but like. ''taskbar on the side instead of bottom'' isn't a unique function of linux obvs.#like the work computer is windows 10 (upgrading to 11 soon 🤮)... anyway.

ONE setting. go to your sound settings. go to your output device. click on your output device. you will see advanced settings.

it is turned on by default. turn it off. immediately the issue is Gone.

This is Windows Copilot, and it's fulled by the same shit ChatGPT is fuelled by. There is currently no way to uninstall it, but there is a way to deactivate it completely, which I've linked below. It's very easy, and it took me like, 2 minutes to do.
