Monday Update!

My Monster Hunter Iron Hammer project is finally, finally done!

In all its low-poly, hand-painted drab-background glory! I am actually pretty happy with this. I would've liked this done a long time ago, and even this post to be out like a week ago, but the results are pretty solid.

I learned a lot about texturing details, the scale they should be that's readable from a far (I'm looking at you guild crest) and their distribution and density around the prop itself. Also had a moment where some other stuff regarding just illustration in general clicked that caused me to redo a bunch of detaling on this - but this came out better for it. This looked pretty solid near the end, but my decision to do a final, extra bit of metal shine, plus a bit of color overlay and shading really brought it home.

Against my better judgement I'm going to do another one - the Giant Jawblade - but the lesson this time will be speed.

Lydia is getting there and will definitely be done quicker than BJ (Just because I'm treating his making his clothes.

And working on a Tai Lung sculpt too

Don't know If I should try to fix his head or just leave it like that. Still want to finish some other sculpts too. And already want to start new ones 🙈 arghhhh

So it’s taken all day but I finally managed to fix the face!!!

They finally look closer in style now, but I think my lines are too thick T-T

Spent the last few days trying to the honse variants ready for molding only to be struck with tragic amounts cure inhibition due to the extremely tight corners in very hard to reach places I foolishly believed my methods could prevent.

I could clean up the masters and take another stab at it, trying to get something into those... uhh... honse armpits, that would cover more of the print resin and hopefully solve the problem, but that's at least a couple more days or work and waiting in hopes of maybe fixing that problem. Better to spend that time addressing the problem from the ground up, I think.

of course, no problem! Was planning to make a post for anyone who wants a tag when I was closer to finishing, because, heads-up: it'll probably take me a while for me to finish it all. If anyone else wants a notice when it's complete, feel free to tell me now so I'll have a list and all that (I will most likely make a tag post later down the line but if anyone wants it now that's cool too). It's really nice to hear people are interested in it, motivates me to continue:)

Today I completed the three different projects. First, on one side I drew a curve line & Right next to it I tried analyzing and drawing the form exactly as I see it, by breaking it down into its basic angles

Second, do the same thing with a bending shape, such as an oval or egg

Lastly, draw 100 freestyle forms using light, fluid lines. These forms can be anything that i've done so far, but I chose to focus on Curved/Bent Shapes i plan to take an extra day to repeat the tasks over & over again

As well as repeating the tasks to get Comfortable and get my mind use to seeing the angles of shapes, I plan to continue my Daily Practice of drawing 100 Circles, Ovals, Squares, Rectangles, Triangles & Quadrilaterals plus the new additions of bent/curved shapes picking up the Next Step Tuesday which is putting everything I've learned so far together

I’m experimenting I’m tryna make some to fit keyboard slots, but I made two out of these three too thick on the sides so only one fits.. 🥷

I might make some sort of poll which design people like…? 🗣️ I made one with white like how waterfalls make white… and the others without that.. but I like both ways… arghh decision dilemma 🤺🤺🤺‼️

Phew, this took a while to write! I think this fic is almost done now, but I'm not entirely sure where I actually want to end it, so. We'll see, I guess. For now, here's six fresh new sentences!

physically GRIPPING onto any motivation i can scrounge up to finish all these wip lu pieces ive got rolling around- but I WIN AGAINST MY BRAIN AGAIN!! this one has been gathering dust for 9 months,,, theres still more,,,

i still need to play albw for Research Purposes (one of my aus,,,) but ive always found the wall merge mechanic to be really neat :) i just think its cool :) and then i got ideas beamed into my skull HELP- the amount of trial and error it took to mimic the painting texture,,,, never again,,, (lying liar who lies)
