WIP WEEKEND

For wip weekend I’ll share filenames of five wips, some of them big bangs, you can send me an ask and I’ll write seven sentences for it and share, except I won’t be sharing the BB fics, but instead share something else, you can request what you'd like (even from wips not here) or let me choose all willy nilly.

Snippet from cuddlebug:

Steve ends up cuddling with Edith all day, as the parents of the other babies in the nursery cuddle their own babies and he can focus on her, dote on her.

As he holds her he thinks about becoming a foster-parent, as he can’t think about having anyone else’s babies than his, at least for the immediate future, he had been rather unforgettable, after all, and he sees his face on the cover of magazines at the grocer’s and on TV.

Edith is an easy baby, cute as a button, absolutely adorable and not helping to derail his thought-processes, his pining.

She smells familiar, but he brushes it off as his own scent having rubbed off on her with how much he’s been cuddling her.

Steve doesn’t think about it, doesn’t allow himself to think about why, he just holds her and chirps at her. No-one tells him off about maybe holding her too much, making her too attached, he knows he’ll have to wean her from his presence by the time she’ll be ready to go home… where-ever that home might be.

He knows Edith won’t be going home with her mom the moment the weary nurse comes in shaking her head.

’You’re mine, no-one elses, mine,’ Steve growled against his neck, where he was mouthing at his mating gland, driving Eddie absolutely crazy.

Eddie moaned, reveling in Steve’s possessiveness. ’Gonna mark me, alpha?’ His voice was a breathy whine.

WIP WEEKEND

Hoping to work on my big bangs (yes, plural) this weekend as well as my other wips. Off course, I can't share the bangs. Weekend will run until noon UTC+3 on the 22nd, cos I say so.

So, I'll put the names of seven my wips below with an emoji and will write and share SEVEN new sentences for every ask, you can ask more than once or ask for more than one wip or, if you ask for the bangs, you can specify which wip you want, otherwise I'll choose randomly.

‘You’re safe, I’m not gonna hurt you. But you gotta breathe, Stevie, allright? You have to.’

Steve’s panic hurts Eddie, makes the alpha inside him scream and rattle in the cage he’d shoved it down into, screaming to be let out, to go to the omega in distress and soothe them with touch, voice and scent. But he can’t, because that’s not right. He’s vowed to never be like that, never be like his father had been, using every nasty trick in the book to control his mother… right until he hadn’t.

‘Yes you can. I know you can. You’re Stevie.’

Later, he couldn’t say how he manages to get Stevie to breathe normally again.

Here's some fluffspring as I can't share the secret project. (I do love writing it.)

‘Come here,’ Eddie says, voice firm but soft.

Steve wants to be contrary. He’s fine. There’s nothing at all wrong with him. He’s still on his feet, still functional, he’s not fragile. Doesn’t need coddling.

It’s cold in the Upside Down where spring never comes and, having been cut off from the gate, they have to make do. It shouldn’t feel as domestic and safe as it does, it really shouldn’t.

Steve will never go tired of Eddie’s antics. One would think he’d grow up at some point and become more mature… if one didn’t know the love of Steve’s life and the frayer of his nerves, that is.

He was just glad that the excitement in their lives these days didn’t involve the Upside Down, just a swarm of their bees chasing Eddie as he scampered about with a jar of honey.

Sharing some fluffspring2024 as secret project isn't shareable. Three sentences written for both.

Eddie is careful when he changes Steve’s bandages, more gentle than Steve would have been with himself. It kind of makes him want to cry, because he’s so rarely touched so gently, with such care.

‘All done,’ Eddie presses a kiss to his temple and Steve breaks down.

Snippet from an upside down accident:

They sit there, together, for the longest time, both seeping in their paranoia. They need to leave Hawkins, that much is clear, but to where and how, that is the issue. They have hush-money from the government, so money might not be a problem, and yet…

All Eddie wants to do is stay right here, in this moment, stuck in it forever, with Steve’s hands protective around them both and the delusion of safety blanketing them.

Snippet from late bloomer:

Someone is whimpering.

He’s being embraced, held tight but not too tight, just the right amount of pressure, more than enough closeness, he lets himself be comforted by the soothing floral scent that he’s starting to think of as safety, it’s deeper now that his scent of smell has matured to pick apart more nuance.

It’s him that’s whimpering and he clings to the arms holding him, two pairs.

Family.

He does… and she’s still there when he wakes up next.

‘Yeah,’ Eddie said, voice a bit hoarse, hands roaming.

‘Let me finish these first and you’ll have for as long as these need to rise before I put them in the oven.’

Eddie backed off with one last kiss, watching Stevie in her element, admiring her form as she teased him moving just so as she sprinkled sugar and cinnamon, rolled, cut and put the cinnamon buns to rise on a baking sheet under a kitchen towel.
