How to Access Recovery Mode on Your Android Device: A Step-by-Step Guide
Recovery mode on Android devices is a powerful tool for troubleshooting issues, performing resets, and fixing problems that might prevent your device from functioning properly. Whether you’re dealing with software crashes, system updates, or boot loops, recovery mode can help restore your device to working order. In this guide, we will walk you through the process of step-by-step guide to entering recovery mode on any Android device, including how to access recovery mode on popular models like Samsung, Google Pixel, and other Android devices.
What is Recovery Mode on Android?
Before we dive into the process, it’s important to understand what recovery mode is. Recovery mode is a special bootable partition in your device’s system. It is used to troubleshoot problems, perform factory resets, clear system caches, and install updates. You can also use it to reinstall the operating system or restore a backup.
Understanding how to access recovery mode on your Android device is essential if you ever encounter issues such as a frozen screen, system errors, or slow performance.
How to Enter Recovery Mode on Android Devices
Step-by-step guide to entering recovery mode on any Android device can vary slightly depending on the manufacturer, but the core process remains the same. Below is a general method that works on most Android devices:
Turn off your Android deviceTo begin, you’ll need to power off your device. To do this, press and hold the power button until the "Power Off" option appears. Tap on it, and your device will shut down. If your device is unresponsive, you may need to force a restart before continuing.
Boot into recovery modeAfter the device is turned off, it’s time to enter recovery mode. The method for this can differ by manufacturer, so here’s how to do it for various popular devices:
Samsung devices:
Press and hold the Volume Up button, Bixby button (if available), and the Power button simultaneously.
When the Samsung logo appears, release the buttons. After a few moments, you should be in recovery mode.
Google Pixel devices:
Press and hold the Volume Down button and the Power button at the same time.
Once you see the Android logo with a start symbol, use the Volume buttons to navigate and the Power button to select.
Other Android devices: For other Android devices, the process is often similar. Typically, it involves holding the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously. You can always refer to your device’s manual for specific instructions.
Navigating Recovery ModeOnce in recovery mode, you’ll see a menu with several options, such as "Reboot system now," "Wipe data/factory reset," and "Wipe cache partition." Use the Volume Up and Volume Down buttons to scroll through the menu and press the Power button to select an option.
Troubleshoot or Reset Your DeviceIn recovery mode, you can troubleshoot issues using various options. If your device is running slowly or freezing frequently, you may want to select "Wipe cache partition" to clear temporary files. If your device is still unresponsive, you can choose "Wipe data/factory reset," but be aware that this will erase all your data. For a complete how to troubleshoot issues using Android recovery mode, refer to the recovery options available on your device, as they may vary by model.
Whether you’re using a Samsung, Google Pixel, or another Android device, the process of entering recovery mode is relatively straightforward and can help you fix a variety of issues. If you’re still unsure about how to access recovery mode on Samsung, Google Pixel, and other Android devices, you can refer to our comprehensive guide for more details. Keep in mind that accessing recovery mode can help resolve several common Android issues, including software crashes and device freezes.

Fixing Display Discoloration on Samsung Phones After Updates: Causes and Solutions
Samsung smartphones are renowned for their high-quality displays, often featuring stunning AMOLED or Super AMOLED screens with vibrant colors and deep blacks. However, one issue that has frequently plagued Samsung users, especially after software updates, is screen discoloration. Post-update, some users report their screens showing an abnormal tint of pink, yellow, green, or even a complete whitewash. This issue can be not only visually distracting but also detrimental to the overall functionality of the device.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll discuss the causes of display discoloration on Samsung phones following software updates and the most effective solutions for addressing the problem. Whether it's a temporary glitch or something that requires Samsung screen repair or replacement, we’ve got you covered.
Common Causes of Display Discoloration After Updates
Software Bugs The most common cause of display discoloration after an update is software bugs or glitches in the new firmware. When manufacturers release new updates, there may be compatibility issues between the software and the hardware, particularly the screen. This could cause colors to appear distorted or for the screen to display a yellow, pink, green, or white tint.
Faulty Update Installation Another reason for display discoloration is the improper installation of a software update. If the update process is interrupted or not completed correctly, the screen calibration settings can become misaligned, leading to color distortion.
Corrupted Cache Files Your Samsung phone stores cached data to load apps and settings faster. However, after an update, these cached files might become corrupted, resulting in various issues, including screen discoloration.
Hardware Incompatibility Although rare, certain updates can push your hardware to its limits, particularly if you have an older Samsung device. In such cases, the phone's screen hardware may no longer be fully compatible with the new software version, causing colors to display incorrectly.
Display Damage Sometimes the issue isn't the software update itself but physical damage to the phone that coincidentally begins to show around the time of the update. A fall or impact may have compromised the display’s connection, resulting in distorted colors, making users believe it’s an issue tied to the update.
Effective Solutions for Fixing Display Discoloration
Now that we understand the potential causes, let’s look at some ways to resolve these issues.
Restart Your Phone The first and simplest step to resolving any post-update issues, including screen discoloration, is to restart your Samsung phone. A soft reset can often fix temporary glitches that may have occurred during the update process.
How to do it: Hold down the power button, tap "Restart," and wait for the phone to reboot.
Why it works: Restarting your device helps clear any minor bugs or glitches affecting the display.
Clear Cache Partition As previously mentioned, corrupted cache files can cause display discoloration. Clearing the cache partition can eliminate these files without affecting your personal data.
How to do it:
Turn off your phone.
Press and hold the Volume Up, Bixby, and Power buttons simultaneously.
Release all buttons when the Android logo appears.
Use the Volume buttons to navigate to "Wipe Cache Partition" and press the Power button to select it.
After it's completed, choose "Reboot system now."
Why it works: This clears system-level cache files that may have been corrupted after the update.
Update Apps Sometimes, it's not the system software but outdated apps that cause display issues. After updating the system software, you should also update all your apps to ensure compatibility with the new firmware.
How to do it: Go to the Google Play Store, click on your profile picture, choose "Manage apps & device," and tap "Update all."
Why it works: Apps that haven't been updated might still rely on older software protocols, which could interfere with the phone's display functions.
Check Display Settings You can manually adjust your screen’s color balance and temperature from your phone’s display settings to address discoloration.
How to do it:
Go to Settings.
Tap Display.
Scroll down to Screen Mode or Color Balance and make adjustments to match your desired display settings.
Why it works: This option allows you to tweak the colors and restore them to their original appearance.
Perform a Factory Reset If none of the above solutions work, your next step is to perform a factory reset. A factory reset will erase all data from your device, so ensure you back up everything beforehand.
How to do it:
Go to Settings.
Scroll down to General Management.
Tap Reset and select Factory data reset.
Why it works: A factory reset restores your phone to its default settings, eliminating any bugs that may have caused the screen discoloration after the update.
Consult a Professional for Samsung Screen Repair If you have attempted all the software-based solutions and the problem persists, there could be an underlying hardware issue. In such cases, seeking professional help for Samsung mobile screen repair services might be your best bet.
How to do it: Contact Samsung’s official customer service or a trusted repair center like Ongofix for expert assistance.
Why it works: Professionals can diagnose hardware problems that might be causing screen discoloration and offer solutions such as Samsung screen replacement or repair.
Preventive Tips for Avoiding Screen Discoloration After Future Updates
Backup Your Phone Before Updates Always back up your phone’s data before performing any software updates. This can protect your personal information and help restore your settings in case something goes wrong.
Perform Updates Over Wi-Fi Ensure that you're connected to a stable Wi-Fi network before updating your device to prevent any interruptions during the update process.
Avoid Interrupting the Update During the update, avoid interrupting the process by turning off your phone or letting the battery die. Keeping your phone charged ensures a smooth installation.
Get Regular Samsung Screen Repair Check-ups If you've experienced physical damage to your phone’s screen in the past, it's essential to get it checked regularly by professionals. Pre-existing screen damage may worsen over time and become more noticeable after software updates.
Conclusion
Display discoloration on Samsung phones following software updates can be frustrating, but it’s not necessarily a permanent problem. Often, simple solutions like restarting your phone or clearing the cache can fix the issue. If the problem persists, adjusting display settings or seeking professional Samsung screen repair services might be necessary.

4 Easy Ways to Fix a Black Screen on a Vivo Mobile
         1. Put the phone to charge.
You must ensure that the gadget is completely charged because, on occasion, this issue may simply be the result of a depleted battery. By doing the actions outlined below, we will start by removing this component.
Use a can of compressed air to clean the phone's charging port. Verify that no dirt or debris remains lodged in this port.
Use the phone's wall charger to fully charge it.
Try utilizing a different charging cable and wall charger if the phone isn't charging. In the event that charging using the wall charger is unsuccessful, you should also attempt charging the phone via a USB port on a computer.
2. Run a soft reset.
To rule out the possibility that the issue is the result of a small software bug, try to update the phone's software. Restarting the device is an easy way to accomplish this. Hold down the Volume Down and Power buttons for about eight seconds, or until the device turns off, then let go.
    3. Clear the phone's cache partition.
Cache data kept in the phone's dedicated partition may occasionally get distorted. The phone will typically experience certain problems as a result of this. You will need to delete the phone's cache partition from recovery mode in order to rule out the chance that this is the root of the issue.
For a brief period, simultaneously press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys.
When you see Fast boot Mode, release all of the buttons.
Choose the "Recovery" mode. Press the Power key to verify that you are using Volume Down for navigation.
To pick the Wipe cache option, use the power key after highlighting it with the volume key.
Press the power key after selecting "reboot system now" with the volume keys.
          4. Do a factory reset?
For a brief period, simultaneously press and hold the Power and Volume Down keys.
When you see Fast boot Mode, release all of the buttons.
Choose the "Recovery" mode. Press the Power key to verify that you are using Volume Down for navigation.
To access the "wipe data / factory reset," hit the power button after highlighting it with the volume key. Once again using the volume keys, navigate to the YES and press the power key to bring up a screen with numerous NOs and a YES.
Press the power key after selecting "reboot system now" with the volume keys.
Conclusion
In conclusion, resolving a black screen issue on a Vivo mobile is a manageable task with these four easy solutions. By restarting the device, ensuring sufficient battery power, performing a force restart, and checking for software updates, users can quickly troubleshoot and restore functionality. These straightforward steps empower Vivo users to overcome the frustrating black screen obstacle, promoting a seamless and uninterrupted mobile experience. With a focus on simplicity and effectiveness, these methods provide practical solutions for users encountering this common issue, ensuring that their Vivo mobile devices remain reliable and responsive.

phone ended up in a bootloop.. somehow
all i did was turn it on this afternoon and then just leave it in sleep mode as i did other things, then when i went to browse youtube on it like 2 hours ago it chugs a bit so i turn it off then turn it back on and now
it’s stuck in a bootloop and i’m losing my fucking mind. i’ve tried wiping the cache partition but that didn’t help, when my brother tried to force an update it started the process but then spat out a “no command” screen
like, it’ll hang on the “samsung” screen for-fucking-EVER and then if and when it gets to the “android is starting” screen it’ll hang there and either reset and go back to the samsung screen or it’ll actually make it to my apps, but then if i so much as touch the screen too much it’ll reset itself back to the samsung screen

5 Things That You Can Do If Your Gboard Is Not Working
Google Gboard is one of the most popular virtual keyboard apps in the market. The app has a clean user interface and provides lots of unique features to its users. But just like any other Android app, it might occasionally crash and stop working. However, there are many things that you can do to solve this problem and fix your broken Gboard. Keeping this mind, we are sharing with you five things that you can do to fix your broken Gboard. So, let’s get started.
Restart Your Mobile
The first thing that you can do if your Gboard is not working is to restart your mobile. Why? Because our smartphone runs lots of apps or processes in the background, and these apps might interfere with the normal functioning of Gboard. But when we restart our mobile, it restarts all our mobile apps and processes, which might solve this problem and make Gboard responsive again. So, make sure you restart your device before doing anything else if your Gboard is not working or has become unresponsive.
Clear Your Gboard’s Cache File
Like every other app on your mobile, Gboard also makes cache files on your mobile to serve you better and work faster. However, these cache files sometimes become the main reason due to which Gboard becomes unresponsive or stops working. But by deleting these cache files from our mobile, we can solve this problem and make Gboard start working again on our mobile. To do this:
Go to your phone’s settings app and click on it to open it.
After that, click on “Apps & notifications.”
Now find your Gboard and click on it.
After that, click on the “Storage option.”
Finally, click on the “Clear Cache” option to delete the cache files.
You have successfully deleted your Gboard’s cache file from your mobile.
Disable All the Other Keyboards Apps
If you have multiple keyboards installed on your mobile, then these keyboards might interfere with the normal functioning of Gboard by creating conflicts, which ultimately may cause Gboard to stop working. But by disabling all the keyboards except the Gboard, we can solve this problem and make Gboard start working again. To disable your keyboards:
Go to your phone’s settings app and click on it to open it.
Next, scroll down and click on “System” to open your system settings.
Now tap on the “Language & input” option.
Next, tap on the “Virtual keyboard” option.
After that, click on the “Manage keyboards” option.
Finally, disable all the Keyboards that are installed on your mobile except Gboard using the toggle button near them.
Clean Cache Partition in Recovery Mode
Every Android mobile has a cache partition in it. Your mobile uses this partition for storing temporary systems files. However, if there’s an issue in any of these system files, then your Gboard app might become unresponsive or stop working. But by cleaning the cache partition of our mobile, we can remove the problematic system file and make Gboard functional again. To do this:
Reboot your mobile (In recovery mode).
Now click on the “Wipe cache partition” option to clean your cache partition.
You have successfully cleaned the cache partition of your mobile.
Reinstall Gboard
If all the above methods fail, then finally delete the Gboard app from your mobile and reinstall it. This will automatically delete any problematic or corrupted Gboard file that might be interfering with the normal functioning of the Gboard app. But before doing this, make sure you have a secondary keyboard app installed on your mobile. Otherwise, you might end up getting stuck with a phone that has no keyboard in it. To install a secondary keyboard on your mobile:
Head over to the Google Play Store and search for a suitable keyboard.
Next, install it on your mobile by clicking the “Install” option
Now go to your phone’s settings app and click on it to open it.
Next, scroll down and click on “System” to open your system settings.
Now tap on the “Language & input” option.
Next, tap on the “Virtual keyboard” option.
After that, click on the “Manage keyboards” option.
Finally, enable the keyboard by using the toggle button near it.
You have successfully installed a secondary keyboard on your mobile.
Once you have done this, uninstall the Gboard app from your mobile and reinstall it from the Google Play Store.
Conclusion
There can be lots of reasons due to which your Gboard might become unresponsive or stops working. But by using the tips that we mentioned above, you can quickly fix your Gboard app. So, do use them if you ever found yourself in a similar situation.

So my phone decided to plaster a quarter inch black bar along the bottom of my display. It has suffered nothing except TLC from me. Not so much as a scratch or a soft fall.
Samsung says it ain't them and I believe them, Sprint says it ain't them and I don't believe them.
Last update (September)glitched the backlights on my home keys and removed the option of toggling it off and on from the display settings menu.
And Sprint was able to port into my phone and re-toggle that setting back on after being shocked it wasn't in the menu.
This black bar elimates my ability to see a portion of the screen but the capacitive interaction is still spot on. Right now I cannot see my keyboard's space bar, shift keys, and punctuation along the bottom. I cannot see the home row of tumblr on the app... but guess what?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For me nothing but a black bar.
And I knew they were going to finally get to a point where a factory reset was the last effort. I explained I didn'twant to do a factory reset, I had rebooted, open in safe mode to verify any third party apps weren't interfering, wiped the cache partition, and rebooted several more times.
That yet another option was missing from the display settings menu (full screen apps) and they insisted that I check to see if my software was up to date. It is. All of it. Sprint then led me through a display reset and my phone let me tell you it wasn't just " the display settings" that reset. So much vibration and sound happened. So after doing my best to make the unhelpful person admit he googled the same online helpdesk article from 2015 with this weird problem I fucked off, backed up, and factory reset.
Guess what? It didn't work. Took me a grand total of 4 hours to get my phone back to normal broken and I had to go through most of the set up partially blind and unsure where installation buttons were....
CAUSE THE BAR IS STILL THERE.
TL;DR In conclusion, fuck Sprint.
