Although they resided on Earth (3018) they're an Alien from a planet named Xybria.

Needless to say, Earth in 2019 is ALOT different from Earth in 3018

Like...The fact that Earth STILL HASN'T DISCOVERED ALIEN LIFE EVEN THOUGH ITS BEEN WALKING AMONG THEM FOR YEARS NOW (Andros we're lookin at u bub.)

So that being said: Jaya and Trip still have to hide their gem on their forhead.

Also: Unlike Trip and Katie; Jaya has never time traveled anywhere let alone years into the past.

This is all new to them.

Jaya becomes particularly close to Andy, sticking by his side while firing a plethora of questions at him

Some Brand of Pirate

So, in case you missed it, my sweet witchyboy Reed looks an AWFUL LOT like he’d be @cog-writes‘ Fyr’s baby cousin which obviously sparked the idea of “how would they interact”. Now, as everything I plan ends up, this is going to be longer than expected and they don’t even interact yet. So I’m sorry in advance, Cog. It might be no good but yknow.. i hope you like the start because now I’ve gotta go sleep!

Not-ideal was one way to sum up the situation. Other ways included more colourful language that Reed thought he should put on the back-burner ‘til he figured out where the hell exactly he’d landed.

To be fair, it was his own doing.

He’d tried to mess with time and space to get a few extra hours of the waning moon, and messed with time and space was a goal he’d well and truly managed.

Huddled under canvas tented over several odd-looking crates, Reed swore he’d stick to messing with human bodies at most if he got out of this situation alive. Speaking of situation, it looked like pirates - it felt like pirates - but there was a significant lack of splashing water that would indicate motherfucking pirates. Instead, there was a constant rumble of engines and the metal floor beneath his knees vibrated ever so slightly with it.

At the sound of two men approaching, Reed steadied his breath. Not that they’d likely hear it over the mechanical humming anyway. It sounded like idle gossip but he listened close. The valuable information that slipped during gossip had proven its worth to Reed time and time again.

They stopped to smoke - something that smelled like tobacco but bitter and a bit like rat shit - not ten feet away from him. He covered his nose to block out the awful scent of it.

“- but the captain says ’s not worth much.”

“What does Fyr know? He’s a kid.”

“Wouldn’t talk ‘bout him like that if I w’r you. Dima might string ya up and add a braid to his hair if he hears it.”

Ah, idle gossip, such a good friend of mine. So, this Fyr guy was the captain, Dima was scary, Fyr was probably also scary, and Reed decided he’d just do his best to avoid all men with braids.

He peeked out from under the canvas while the smokers discussed treasures and ports, and if the topic of conversation didn’t confirm pirates, the clothes definitely did. Just another thing he’d have to work past, he figured. His tight jeans and boyfriend’s V-neck were likely to stand out worse than a sore thumb. Reed slid the canvas the rest of the way over his eyes to look for sails, look for skies and shorelines. It was definitely night time, that much he could gather, but… sails. There were no sails.

What kind of sideways brand of pirates had he poofed himself into dealing with?

A giant black balloon hovered over the ship, strapped in with rope upon rope, with a single mast leading up to it. More metal lined the deck where he’d expected to see wood, and rust spots suggested this was neither a new ship nor a new crew.

So space pirates? No. Sky pirates. What the hell were sky pirates?

Reed hid back under the canvas and dragged a hand over his face. He just needed to do the same thing he’d done at home to get back there in one piece. It couldn’t be too hard, could it? He just needed charcoal, space to do an oversized sigil or three, a spot of blood, snake bones, a source of flame, and enough time to speak an incantation that had taken up four pages of his notebook. All this while avoiding scary-braided-Dima and Captain Fyr. Oh, and he’d need one egg for some godforsaken reason.

Reed chewed his lip ran his fingers through his hair. Surely he’d been in stickier situations than sky pirates with many scary braids, stuck in a whole other fucking universe. Okay, maybe this was the tippy-top as far as sticky situations went.

“Disguise,” Reed whispered to himself. He’d need a disguise. The pirate talking crap about the captain seemed about Reed’s size, if only a little larger in height. Reed took a deep breath and called upon his magic. It swirled and tingled in his fingertips and fluttered in his chest. Alive and well in this universe as it was in his own, it seemed.

As Reed slipped out from under the canvas and tiptoed up behind the gossiping smokers, he wondered what Fyr looked like.

Probably a massive black beard, eye patch, and peg leg, right?
