26. does your sim have a favourite tv show (cable) and/or movie?

he's not a big tv guy in all honesty but he'll hang around to watch cheers if hes super bored (theres like three tvs in the commune altogether and at least one of them will have cheers playing at any given time). he likes macgyver too although admitting it embarrasses him 🤭 his favourite movie is dog day afternoon

28. does your sim like books? if so what’s their favourite one?

he does! i think he mostly reads philosophy books and the like though so kind of out of my own personal taste. i know for sure though that he would've read and appreciated letters from a stoic by seneca

30. what is your sim’s personal style?

i would describe it as kind of grungy skater slacker aesthetic.. lots of flannels lots of layers all of it on the shabby side. definitely prioritising comfort and baggy silhouette over form ahdkshsk it works for him though soo

32. is your sim religious?

not particularly- i dont think he believes in a higher power at all. his mum maria is russian orthodox though she never tried impressing her own beliefs on him and i dont think he wouldve picked it up either way

42. what is a secret about your sim?

theres a real part of his mind that he ponders sometimes about whether it was "worth it" to be openly trans, especially in such a small community where everyone knows each other. hes happier for being more honest but he worries about always being "other". but he doesn't really discuss this outright because he doesnt wanna be seen as some sort of indecisive pariah. he mostly just doesnt wanna be seen at all

44. what is a flaw your sim has?

he would call it loyalty but i would call it his current inability to stand up for himself 😭 he kind of just gets told to do things and then does them regardless of whether its a positive or negative outcome for him. even when the bad consequences are staring him in the face he'll always try to choose to believe that other people will have his best interests at heart

hiii nene <3 going to answer this for both of them!!

facts for theo:

every year when summer would roll around and theo would be sent to boarding school, he’d always be given the exact same dorm room which he’d have all to himself. same bed, same covers, same drafty windows. he was constantly losing things in his room. he’d set his cardigan down on his desk and the next day it’d be gone. countless things disappearing while he slept. his memory playing tricks on him. but there were some summers where he’d come back and he’d see that same cardigan right there on the back of the door, almost like it’d been waiting for him. things popping back up that he thought he lost so many summers ago. it was unsettling. when things started coming back, he began to develop nightmares.

theo cut most of his hair off when he was seventeen. he did it himself so it was... a mess. he cried a lot. he felt lighter from it just the same as he felt like he was being crushed. then his parents saw what he'd done... they were always angry with him for acting out as a teenager and making it impossible to get his hair cut, but at least his hair still looked somewhat presentable then. after he chopped it all off himself it just looked horrible, almost unsalvageable, so they punished him for it. it felt like he was being punished for so much more than cutting his hair.

theo first started playing with makeup as a child. his au pair would let him dig around in her purse for it and he'd grab fistfuls of makeup like they were buried treasure and pull them out triumphantly before investigating his spoils. he liked to draw on his face and arms with her lipsticks, just these cute little scribbles that she’d have to wipe away afterwards with her thumb.

facts for matthias:

matthias technically died when he was a teenager. he'd drowned. he was dead for nearly a minute but his body was so cold at the time that he was still able to be resuscitated even when the other parties were reluctant to give urgency to his medical aid. he nearly didn’t make it out alive. though, in a way, i guess you could say he didn’t. not really. he certainly wasn’t convinced of it. nobody other than himself and a handful of people who were actually there even know about what happened. truthfully, i don't know that he's ever fully processed the trauma of it. it's centered in a lot of his nightmares.

while matthias's body is littered with scars, the one his mother gave him on his chin is the only one that he can still feel. everywhere else is numb to him, but that one... it's like the phantom sensation of something tugging and stretching over the bloody gape of the wound never went away, his skin forever stuck trying to stitch itself back together. it's been years, a decade for him, but it still feels so raw. being touched there is almost unbearable. it's like he's being ripped open again every time. (fully aware i've shown theo covering the scar with his thumb before... smiles.)

similar to theo, matthias used to play with makeup as a child. imani had a small compact with eyeshadow in it that she’d apply on matthias’s eyelids with her fingertips and then he’d do the same to her. their boarding school had strict rules about no makeup, so she could only get away with with this light golden color that was almost imperceptible. it looked pretty and subtle on her but on matthias it was nearly invisible except for a slight shimmer. it was kind of pointless to put it on him but matthias liked it anyway. she'd always apply it so carefully… that young in age, matthias wasn't used to being touched at all—not unless he was being punished by a teacher. so it was... well, it was nice. he learned how to reciprocate such gentle touches while applying the eyeshadow on her.

1. who’s your favorite character to write?

i'm sure i've expressed this sentiment before but right now its actually lilian 😭 at this point in dgwicf most of my characters are pretty open with stating their intentions and sentiments, for better or for worse. lilian differs in that aspect because she's so so densely packed of a person there's a lot of deep waters if you get the gist... i do wanna start writing prose stuff in her pov eventually (not just her dialogue) but inspiration hasn't struck me yet 😞

6. what’s the hardest thing to write for you?

fluff in general.... its just more interesting to me when a character is struggling in some way so a struggle with say superficial things (or at least things i'd consider superficial) is just.. difficult. the bachelorette with ari a few years back i found this out pretty quickly. also this is a horrible trait to have for someone doing a sims story but just straight up dialogue i have never and probably will never be confident with

7. do you plan everything out before you write or do you sit down and go with the flow?

i usually have a general idea of what the scene contains insofar as point a to point b and emotional fluctuations and how it ties into the overall larger plot but for the smaller details like the bulk of how it actually feels and sounds i usually just do it on the fly 😅 if i overthink it usually im unhappier with the result by the end... being flexible is good for sim story because if you set your expectations too high the game will probably disappoint you

8. what songs do you listen to get in the writing mood?

physically rubbed my hands for this one sgdkshsk music is very important to me... it depends on the scene for the mood but out of stuff released recently, stereo mind game by daughter, blue rev by alvvays, preacher's daughter ethel cain have been really helpful for more quiet contemplative scenes in dgwicf. when i need more blood going in me i'll listen to ptv or key glock or roddy ricch. and ofc edens discography for in general 😌 though sometimes i can't stand lyrics in which case i use my instrumentals playlist

10. how do you get around a writer’s block, if anything?

um pray for divine intervention DGFHJKL it's happened only like once or twice but if i brute force my way through a block by writing just terrible nonsense and rarely rarely that works. i gotta say though i think about writing a lot more than i actually do it...

100000% yes, I definitely believe in ghosts, spirits, aliens, ALL OF THEM. This universe is too huge for there not to be any supernatural entities. We haven't explored the bottom of the ocean enough and it's only a matter of time before we discover a planet that has its own civilization and society. There's so much we don't know about!!

I remembered that a few years ago I've participated in a tag like this, so I kinda was in mood to start a complete new tag chain + slightly rewritten rules to revive it!

Also bandaids or tissues cause he, uhh, tends to accidentally hurt himself whenever he's filming fdsksfdkj. If there is even more extra space left, you can bet that he's tagging his laptop along with him.
