Hello! Fellow Gates enjoyer here! I love all five games on the series, even Adventure Squad, but Gates to Infinity is my absolute favorite of them! I just finished writing up a retrospective on it yesterday!

tango is posing confidently with a wrench. he is in the postal uniform polo, with chunky brown and orange gloves and boots, topped off with red, pinstriped overalls. one strap is not around his shoulder, and on the belt around the overalls they carry a small bag, a screwdriver, and a vial of redstone. he has on brown goggles with blue lenses. tango has fire for hair and pointed ears. above him there’s a doodle of the messenger bag that’s secured on his back. it shows how the orange straps tuck over the whole outfit and lead to a dark red and pinstripe blue bag with cog detailing.

joel is giving an indignant pose like he’s complaining. he is wearing a black undershirt that fades out into his light green claws, a pink kimono with only one sleeve of cherry blossom patterns, and a dark grey vest and cherry blossom-patterned obi tie it off. the vest has a cherry blossom crest on the back. joel also has on dark pink pants with a cherry blossom motif on the bottom and on his left arm there’s a bracer with a screen built in. crawling all over the undershirt there are cybernetic patterns connecting joel’s skin through to the undershirt. joel is a tanuki, hence why he has a leaf on his head. around joel are doodles showing the crest on the back of his vest and the pattern on the sleeve.

musing to myself this morning about the idea of penpals in fantasy settings like XIV

I miss my penpals from college, we used to send each other tea and plant clippings and little drawings (several of which I keep hung up by my desk space yet), and it makes me wonder what that would look like in Eorzea - there IS a mail system, after all, and I wonder what people include for their friends in different places

do you think dragonets would find penpals? interacting with the wider world at large by learning to hold a pen and scribbling away in a language they don't totally understand?

I think I'd like having a little dragon penpal. I wish we got mail from the characters we've met in the past

aaron dating an author and borrowing her laptop to order jack something he showed him earlier and when he opened your search history to find the item again it's the most concerning google search he's ever seen. every fbi red flag is going off. various methods of murdering someone in their sleep and disposing of a body. i mean he only got home from his case last night so now hes starting to wonder if hes about to die by the hand of his own little love.

tried to be sooo casual about the fact your searches looks like an unsubs and was lowkey relieved its just "just because i needed to know if a body would decompose faster if it's been wrapped in plastic or a bed comforter." with a shrug like it's not an insane thing to think about.

his relief wears off instantly though because why do you need to something like that?!

He would be freaking outttttt he goes to search your car while you're still out of the house and checks every nook and cranny for a single weapon, pair of gloves, a garotte, ANYTHING suspicious and after finding nothing there or in your bedside drawer he's only somewhat relieved.

When you get home he's trying so hard to act himself but he has his work-face on (the one that strictly guards any and all emotion on his face) as he suddenly starts asking you about your childhood and if you ever played with animals? 'yeah of course i did, why Aar?' 'oh i'm just wondering if jack needs a pet in his life is all. But I worry he might want to torture it or something. Did you ever torture any animals as a kid?' 'aaron wtf' 'set any fires just to make trouble?? did you wet the bed?' 'AARON WHAT HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU?!"

He turns your laptop to face you, the history in question cutting through the dark room like a beam of horror. "Please tell me you have some insane reason to be looking these things up. Before I have to move Jack out of here and have Garcia turn your life upside down". You see the glimpse of abject horror on his face as he wonders how he has again possibly cast his son into the crosshairs of another serial killer.

You pull up the story you've been writing for your books. Showing him the three thousand word draft you've prepared and a list of questions 'aar might know' you were intending to ask him that night. Or maybe Reid, whoever could explain postmortem etymology to you in thirty minutes or less. Aaron breathes a long sigh of relief when you say you were thinking of throwing the whole story out, the gruesome details having made your stomach churn in ways you weren't sure you could take.

Love trying to research politicians for extremely local ballots. All I can ever find is badly made websites in red, white, and blue that all say the same things in slightly different ways and a handful of news articles that basically are just, "yeah, this person is running for some position no one has ever heard of, no we don't know who they are or anything they stand for, mind your own fucking business."

hi just gonna say this is one of my favorite games and deserves more recognition!!! also rip to people who went thru the final ice dungeon with snivy+axew as player and partner (it was me i STRUGGLED)

with you, yes, absolutely 100%!!!! he would be the fucking sweetest and he’d already have multiple potential care plans in place before you even begin the scene, each tailored to a specific outcome—the ways he thinks you’re most likely to react by the time the scene is over, with a few of them branching out into sub-plans based on what turns the scene may take as it develops. each aftercare plan is attuned to what he knows your specific set of needs will be by the end of him fucking you into the prettiest shattered shards of yourself. if the session ends up being purely psychological torture then you can bet your ass he’s got a whole novels-worth of words of affirmation written on the walls of his skull, just waiting to be spoken to you. if the session is more physical in nature then he’s prepared with your favourite nutritious snack + a bottle of water + first aid materials. if it’s any combination of both he’s prepared with whatever percentage of each he believes must be met; various aftercare blends each customized to that particular result.

afterwards, after he’s sure your initial, instinctive and most immediate needs have been throughly dealt with and resolved, it’s whatever you further need—your favourite comfort film, or cozy cuddles beneath fluffy blankets with him and your most cherished stuffy, or tender kisses scattered across your marred skin and mangled limbs, gentle lips so healing, so loving as they skim across your body, each stamp of them against your flesh leaving a soft, small blossom of warmth in its wake; whatever it is, whatever you want, he is more than ready and willing to give it.

i genuinely believe that like, 97% of the time this man is fucking brutal and sincerely, severely sadistic in the bedroom; loves teasing you to the point of tears and then far beyond that, staining his name into your skin through deep indents beneath all 32 of his teeth and splats of broken blood vessels beneath his fingertips, can be downright fucking cruel when he wants to be, when the mood strikes him (and takes genuine delight and pleasure in it all)—and as such, being a god at aftercare is a must, when it concerns you, anyway.
