i need a german style word for the emotion i personally get when someone who presents themselves as someone with discerning taste in contrast to Various So And Sos Over There stans something deeply unserious and doesn’t catch that it’s messing with their brand. this is a post about how i can’t stop thinking about how sean and amanda the ringer big picture podcast think that the social network is the best movie of the 2010s - not their personal favorite movie of the 2010s but the best one. better than all the other movies. no other did as good a job at movieing as the social network - and specifically how i cannot believe amanda is so mad about the emily blunt role in oppenheimer but apparently gives a pass to TSN casting brenda song as the most Bitches Be Crazy character of all time

something about orym’s reactions to imogen’s considering ‘switching sides’ being so outright vs when fearne does the same it’s more subdued and he doesn’t Like it but doesn’t outright oppose her in the same way. like thinking about how much dependence he places on imogen as his replacement keyleth who will situate the party and their decisions even if she’s not the one Making the final decisions is So delicious and intriguing and i’m excited to see how the tensions there even in their apologies to one another develop

i know i’ve been super quiet recently and it’s mainly because my life has been in absolute shambles and i’m trying to keep myself distracted every second of the day lest i go utterly insane and also nothing ever goes on with me in general so i’m not sure what to... talk about really. but i think i’ll start endeavouring to more often, or at least when i feel up for it since i know isolating myself twenty four seven isn’t healthy haha.

so uh...... i’m nearly finished with my novel! i only have a few more chapters but i’m estimating it’ll be done by the middle or end of summer depending on how the editing process goes :) don’t know how long it’ll be until i publish it afterwards since i’m not exactly sure how to like, go about doing all of that stuff but i’ve put a lot of effort into it, and i really hope it shows eventually.

i only had two friends in hs and thats a lot but it was for under two yrs and then i talked to no one for the restof hs after i moved. i dont understand people who can be in big friend groups it seems a little exhausting but nice if theres no drama and such. i think id like a small friend group but i made no friends at college 😭 i also barely had friends in middle school. i think its just been hard for me to make friends in general and maybe that makes me a loser but im pretty content w isolating myself as an adult and adult friendships are harder to find. i could have tried harder at the hs i finished hs at but i spent 3-4 yr just being alone and listening to music and going to class and talking to no one

so as we all know, you cannot sleep in the nether. you place your bed down, and it explodes.

why, though? why does specifically sleeping in a bed in the nether cause it to explode? not in terms of raw game mechanics, I mean why as in “give me your best narrative explanation.”

for example, I think the question of sleeping in the nether is often circumvented by an explanation like, “sleeping in the nether in general is a bad idea due to the dangerous conditions,” wherein a bed in a more secure location, say a cleared-out nether fortress, no longer poses a problem. no explodey. but in reality (or. the game, obviously), you’d still explode.

i think the next easiest explanation to go to would be something like, “notch specifically cursed beds to be dysfunctional in the nether,” which works, but isn’t as fuuun.

this brings up questions like, “well, what actually counts as a ‘bed’ in the nether?” and “what actually counts as sleeping?” i have some half-baked thoughts, likely with glaring holes, but i am as usual curious to see how other people might work around/think about this game-mechanic in a narrative way =v=

I guess I’m being a scold but I’m not a fan of the comic where julian says they enhanced his dick. I think Star Trek fans need to think about what joke they are actually making when they say things like this. he was a child when he got genetically modified so going “lol what if they made his dick bigger” is Not Funny to me at all

Cant figure out which of my mains I would want in strive more so can they actually jsut do that joke of putting venom and robo ky in as one character so I dont have to decide myself which would be better first 👍
